On today's body cam, we're checking out. Woman thinks police are there for her boyfriend. Could >> have water on me. She trying to choke me. >> Did at any point you feel like you're going to pass out? >> A woman called 911 to rescue herself [music] from her boyfriend. But when officers arrived, both told completely different stories. [music] What she didn't realize was that the surveillance cameras had captured what really happened. >> Taking up these stories right now. >> Okay. Let me talk to you all about real quick. All right. All right. So, what's going on tonight with you? >> She got mad. She my phone. She trying to fight me. So, I tried to leave and lock my door and all that. And I I know I'm going to drift. I did try to go like this and move out the way and all that. >> So, move out the way. You're trying to leave. You were inside and you trying to leave. So, you're trying to get out the way to move. Okay. >> All right. So, I mean >> I know you >> I know what you mean by go to jail for that cuz you're trying to get out. Yes. >> I need to leave. >> Yeah. But we know how this normally go. My guys traumatized, man. Typically the the guys is going to jail. You lay a hand on them, they you know, it's it's over with. You know, she put her hands on you. It's like, you know, it's hard to prove when it's just he say, she say. So, let's see how this go. Man, >> you're just trying to get out, right? Okay. So, did anything else other than Okay. Did she at any point? Did she hit you? No. >> Did she hit her? >> No, it was just like touching it. >> Okay. So like when you're sitting like this like just tab in >> Okay. No. Yeah. You just show me though. Just tell me. Yeah. >> So you were just going to Okay. And what's your guys' plan for tonight then? >> Huh? >> What did you guys plan for tonight then? >> I can't. >> What did you guys plan for tonight? >> We both go here and go to work tomorrow. >> Okay. Is there a way you can get another room or or you said you were trying to leave, right? So >> is there is there your name or my name? >> Your name? >> What's your first name? >> Jaylen. Okay. You got an ID on you at all? >> You got a party in there? >> Yeah. Inside with the deputy. >> Oh, you say your name in jail? >> Yeah. >> So, what? She went through your phone, got pissed off, you tried to leave. >> Then she got the trying to like there's water on the floor. She put a bucket of water on me. She trying to choke me or whatever and all that. I'm just trying to like Yeah, I got like physical tried to leave and all that, but I'm trying to leave. >> When you say you got physical, what? >> Like she's in front of me. >> You like pushing her? >> Yeah. >> Did you hit her at all? Anything like that? Okay. Jay, what's the phone number for you, my man? >> Uh, I just got my number changed so I don't need to. >> All right. >> I give your partner. >> Okay. >> You good? If I talk to her? >> Yeah, absolutely. >> So, she threw a bucket of water on you. You try to push your way by. That's it. >> Any punches being thrown? Anything like that? Any punches being thrown? Any slaps? >> No, just trying to grab each other's move. You know how that's it. That's what I said. I I know how it's going to go. All right. >> I got You know how it's going to go, man. Yeah. Assume the position, man. You know how it's going to go. >> Not >> not necessarily. Let Let us figure it out and then we decide from there. All right. >> So, I should get the scratch on first. >> Pushing. You got to lay by each other and all that. >> I got I got It's really this nail right here that I got to chop off finger or whatever. So, it's kind of >> Okay. So, all you were trying to do was leave and get out the room. Did you take her phone at all at some point? >> Yeah, I have a phone. Yes. >> You have her phone? >> Yes. >> Right now? You got it? >> No. No. No. >> No. >> Why' you have her phone? >> Cuz she had >> Cuz she had yours. Okay. >> You were trying to leave. She was pulling you back in. >> Yeah. >> You guys got physical before? >> You said you know how it goes. So, that's why I'm asking. >> Tell how I felt about the door being open. He comes out swinging and that's how that went. I was sitting over there. >> Okay. >> When you guys get dispatching this and he's walking out. >> So punch you with a close fist. >> See this officer just saved his ass. Boy, this officer witnessing that just saved his behind, man. Cuz now it it goes with what he was saying. I'm trying to leave and she not letting me leave, you know? And the officer just witnessed it. He trying to walk out and she yank him back. That's the thing that's gonna save this brother right here, man. >> So basically what happened was is that he was trying to leave the room cuz she just went through his phone. She caught him doing in the act basically. He was trying to leave. So he kind of like pushed her side a little bit to to get out to leave the room. Deputy's out here saying that um he witnessed the female pulling into the room. So she put him back in when he tried to leave. >> Okay. >> So that's so far all I got. And then um I think he'll speaking to the female right now. >> Talking. Yeah. >> All right. What happened? >> I'm trying to leave and she was holding me back and I did get like I showed him I was trying to move out the way and all that and >> move her out of the way. Where'd you grab her to move her? >> Uh like this and then she had to grab my hair and then that's why I got going like that. >> But whatever she say I did, I did. Um just trying to get home or whatever yall going to take trying to get >> at any point. Did you grab her by the neck? >> No. >> Okay. You don't remember doing that or you didn't do that? >> I didn't do that. >> Okay. You didn't scratch her or anything? >> I was telling him I probably did when we like when I was trying to move her cuz I got like this thing right here was going on. >> Okay. >> Like if I do that. >> And how did that happen? Did it start by the bathroom? Did it start by the door? >> It was by the door. Me trying to get out. >> Okay. You were trying to get out. She was trying to pull you back in. You tried to push her away. >> My hand was almost out the door. That's her closing the door in my hand. >> Okay. All right, I'm going to take some photos of you really quick. >> I don't really try to do nothing to her. I just want to delete like you ain't got to take no photos of me. >> I do need to for to document it for report. All right. So, listen. Right now, you're going to be placed under arrest. >> One second. Okay. >> Yo, back up. >> We can try to get her to leave. I can't make any promises. [laughter] >> Fellas, we know how this going to go. Fellas, we know how this going to go. We could clearly hear what what really happened. She went through his phone. She didn't like what she saw. He probably cheating, doing his thing, whatever. Which is wrong. You know what I'm saying? But he's trying to leave instead of engaging with her. He's trying to leave the situation and they get into a tussle match or whatever. But I would assume she is the aggressor. But it go this how it go as yeah you can't put your hands on no lady man. What's wrong with you man? Even if you all trying to get out even with that officer saying yo I did witness him trying to leave and she yanking him back in the room. Nah man you're cooked. So in my eyes I think it's either going to be they're both going to get arrested or just he is going to get arrested. You know what I'm saying? I you know I don't know. We gotta see. But I don't think she's gonna get arrested alone. >> My name is up to motel staff. Okay. So that bathroom is not uh there. >> Go this way. >> What's going on tonight? >> Um altercation that popped out. Domestic altercation. >> Someone's your boyfriend. >> This is Yes. >> Husband. Boyfriend. >> Baby daddy. >> Okay. [snorts] Um, so what happened? >> I came in the room. He was asleep. Door was closed but open like with the gate like this. The door like this. >> Okay. >> So I came Wait, hold on. Like this. So that means the door is open. You didn't protect yourself. Correct. So >> he was in here. >> So I came and woke them. I came and woke him up. I br here. I came back with my dog in my bag. >> Okay. >> He gets up, gets mad because I was questioning him. Why he's why he had the door open like that? That's unsafe. >> Okay. >> He gets mad. He goes in the bathroom, comes out. I'm on the phone with my cousin expressing how I felt about the door being open. He comes out swinging and that's how that went. >> So he hit you? >> Yes. >> Where did he hit you at? >> We punching each other. Look at my face. >> Okay. >> I had earrings in my ear. >> No. Look at this. >> So he punched you on with a closed fist. >> Closed fist. Choked up. All that. >> Okay. That story don't even sound right, man. She yelling cuz the door is open and he just go in the bathroom and come out swinging. Come on, man. Like, nah. Nah. I believe his story. >> So, you come back, you and him. All right. >> The lady were downstairs running the cameras. >> Hold on. So, you and him are staying here together >> in the room. >> Okay. >> He was here. He was here sleeping. You come back. You find the door is >> open, >> unlocked, right? Unsecured. And then you confront him. Hey, why is the door open? >> He gets up, >> gets up, go in the bathroom, rejuvenate, come back out, and it was just a tussle. >> Just starts starts punching you. >> Yeah, tussle. >> Okay. >> So, this door was unlocked just like this. >> Okay. >> I was coming back. Matter of fact, I can document a lot of I can document and let you know about the same time they got into it and all that. I just made it here again. I just left from here. I have been gone for 2 hours. >> Okay. >> I came back and there's no not saying that nothing. But why is the door open? It never been open when we was here. Nothing like that. >> He's asleep. Let me just I'm going to bring off to speak. So he's asleep in the They're staying here together. This is her and her uh child's father. >> She comes back. The door is like this unlocked in a jar. >> He's sleeping. He she confronts him. Hey, why is >> unaware what's going on? Why is the door open? >> Why is the door open? >> He gets out, goes to the bathroom briefly. >> Your mate goes in the bathroom, comes back up and we fight. It's the same thing he's going to tell you. >> So when he comes out of the bathroom, he just un >> Nah. Nah. He He got a completely different story. That ain't the same thing he said. He said you came in there and you was looking through his phone and that's how it popped off. You ain't mentioning nothing about no the door being unlocked and you yelling about that cuz that don't even Okay, whatever. He fell asleep. The door was unlocked. All right, whatever. Like that's not a big deal to get in a fight over. >> Starts physically assaulting her. >> But now you finding something in his phone that isn't supposed to be there. Now that's something you could get into an argument over. >> Then left Mark start punching her with the clothes. All right. >> Did you Did he initiate it? Who had >> He initiated. >> So, he started. He came towards you. >> He initiated. All I did was have >> All right. And then are you okay if I take photos of you really quick and then our medics are going to take a look? All right. I'm going to take whole body first. >> Actually, this side, too. >> Did he Did he strangle you at all or did he >> What do you think this is? >> What did he use? Did he use his hands? >> His hands instead of strangle if you lose your breath. Correct. Okay. >> Okay. So, did you at any point go unconscious? >> Did you feel like you were lo going to lose consciousness? >> I'm intoxicated. I don't know what I did. >> Okay. But he did. I can see that. >> That's That's clear. You don't have to ask questions. That's already there. >> I have to ask just >> Yes. Just >> No, he did. Because >> I understand that, but we're just trying to get the information from you clearly. So, when he had his hands around your throat, did at any point you feel like you were going to pass out? >> Probably did slide down the wall. >> Okay. And where >> right here? >> Right here. Right here. >> Okay. Was he saying right there? >> Was he saying anything while he was attacking you? >> No, I don't remember. I don't remember. >> Okay. >> I don't remember. >> He just came out. He started hitting you. You're trying to defend yourself. He grabs you by the neck over. >> See how many bruises he have on him? >> I I I need to get your story. Just see. Just see. >> I'll talk to him as well. I didn't see anything on him right now. >> I bet you didn't. >> Okay. And then >> sometimes women's very much scared of a guy. >> We're going to get you. No, my partner's talking in with him right now, but I'm gonna talk to him in a second. We're gonna get you some resources, but I want our medics to come in here to come take a look at you, see if you need anything. Do you feel like you need to go to the hospital? >> No, I'm about to go home. >> Okay, just hang out here for a minute. They're going to take a look at you and make sure everything's all good. >> And then my ID as well. >> All right, we are here. >> Hey, how you doing? >> How are you doing? >> I'm great at this point. >> Yeah, you're okay. >> Yeah, you guys going to save my life, right? >> Well, you called for us, right? I mean, that's what that's what you guys are here for. I just need my other half show. I'm ready to go. I just got a [ __ ] disappointment. >> But yeah, >> you call me, right? You want an ambulance? >> You want to check me? >> Yeah, we can check you. Absolutely. >> I didn't call you downstairs. Called you. >> Okay. Do you want an ambulance? >> I want y'all to check me if that's okay. >> I could be dying. I don't even know what >> we'll check you. >> Yeah. Your other slippers are >> So, unsurprising, there's two versions. Her version is that her and her baby daddy, her words, she comes back, the door's uh unlocked and left a jar. He's asleep on the bed. She confronts him saying, "Why are you leaving the door unlocked? He gets up, goes to the bathroom briefly, comes back out, and just starts physically assaulting her. She's got marks on her right cheek." Uh she alleges that he put her hands around her neck. Um he's saying that they got into a verbal altercation and he's trying to leave and she was preventing him from leaving and then that's how the altercation ensued. I'm going to go obviously with the conflicting >> over the phone. Like you got to that's important because her story does not make sense. You guys get into an argument because you fell asleep and left the door unlocked. That's not that's not argument worthy. Like that I'm sorry. Maybe it is in your relationship, but that is not argument worthy like to me. like I but finding going through his phone finding something in his phone that you don't like now that makes sense. But yeah, I I mean her story don't is performative. Yeah, she may have marks or whatever. Um but that could be come that could come from both of them tussling and stuff like and he said that you know he has long nails so she may have a scratch or whatever because he's trying to get out of the that that's understandable. I'm going to check to see what the video shows. >> Okay. >> And see if there's anything um >> and you have the cop saying that he seen him trying to leave and her pulling him back in, which is very important. Why? Because if she was in such so fear for her life or whatever, why would you be wanting him? You would want him to leave, right? You would want him to leave. That was the whole thing that she's saying. like you know women they scared and this and that or what? Well, why didn't you just let him leave? The officer seen you pull him back into the room. >> Is there uh anybody who can take care of the dog? >> Why? >> Cuz right now you are also going to be under arrest for domestic battery. You do have injuries on you. Because of that, I do have to take both of you in. >> Okay. Step the >> Told you. That's [ __ ] That's [ __ ] Told you. It's either gonna be him getting arrested when it comes to this and it's and his guys getting on the other end of the stick. It's either he's getting arrested or they're both getting arrested, not just her. Come on, man. This the guy was sleep. She came in here with that rah stuff. Man, >> that don't matter, right? >> You guys both have injuries. He's claiming that you started it. You're claiming it. So, >> I knew this was coming. We're not get video and the video shows otherwise, you can still be released tonight. But as of right now, it's a heat you said. >> Mhm. >> All right. So, can you put your hands back? >> Give me one second. Let me make sure somebody can defend for my dog. >> All right. >> The boyfriend was charged with two counts of domestic battery while the woman was charged with one count of domestic battery. [music] Watching the reality hit the screen. >> The craziest [music] moments that you've ever seen. Captured full time.
