I'm sure many in my audience are already aware that Christopher Ruff AKA directi has been charged and sentenced in a Mesa Arizona Municipal Court by a judge Raymond Schumacher so the question is what was the charge why was he sentenced well he was operating as an American on American soil exercising American rights supposedly protected by the Constitution and that sentence was handed down by a judge who swore to protect and defend those freedoms from all enemies foreign and domestic and yet in my opinion judge Raymond Shoemaker or Schumacher became the very domestic enemy he swore to protect us all from what I want to go over first is the four video clips showing exactly what happened and where these char just stem from here's just a real quick sampling well I done did it actually I can go upstairs am I being trespassed yes under threat of arrest yes yes awesome thank you sir go to jail for trespassing Jesus Christ at it hey how you doing you need to move you need to back off right this isn't we don't need permission free men don't ask for permission to exercise rights they have just like all men have unalienable rights I want to go through this and I also want to talk about this article from Yahoo news where it says judge orders Mesa man to stop filming the police here's a translation on that the judge that Schumacher orders direct D Christopher Ruff to stop exercising his unalienable rights I'm going to read some of this and then we're going to go through each of the four episodes or scenes that all these charges are supposedly based off of says a Mesa judge has sent and self-described Guerrilla journalist Christopher Ruff to at least five days in jail in connection with his videotaping of four police incidents and walking into a restricted area in Mesa City Plaza that was that first clip that I showed you after being told not to the judge two weeks ago also threatened to lock him up for six months if he doesn't seize filming police in Mesa while on probation for three years let's look at some of this here's the first clip this is where he supposedly walked into a restricted area was told that he had to leave complied under the threat of arrest and then later the cops come out to arrest him all right says what he says customers and it says check in as a public building I don't have to check in to go upstairs you do says who says the sign right here oh is there an ARS or something attached to that that makes it legally obligated yeah you guys check that out check that out famous you're famous now buddy yeah so you know I don't need any to sign anything no I don't well I done did it actually I can go upstairs says Mesa all visitors must sign in Mom's problem my badge number is 20650 am I being trespassed yes under threat of arrest yes yes awesome thank you sir now this is very important am I being trespassed yes under threat of arrest yes he immediately leaves the property Dan did you guys hear that fast again Mesa City Plaza now after leaving the property after being told to do so he's standing on a public sidewalk and this is what Mesa cops do to him so we didn't do anything illegal for trespassing Jesus Christ fine give me your camera are you kidding me I'm not call the lawyer he complied with the cops orders now here's the sentencing case of 2021-0 placing your own probation I am giving you five days of jail again those five days of jail will run um it'll be a straight time no two for one that will run concurrent with the five days of jail in 2021-043 799 this could have happened to any one of us any one of us could have walked into a restricted area but when told to leave when told hey you're being trespassed from the property hey are you doing that are you threatening me with the rest like if I don't leave I'm gonna go to jail okay I'm gonna go ahead and leave and then they arrest you after you comply with the command to leave how in any Universe could that be called just the article continues in early 2021 the Mason native started showing up at police scenes with a camera where officers were working he recorded and live streamed the activity with the avowed purpose of catching violations of his first amendment rights and holding police accountable for following rules and procedures this was written in October of 2022 so back then they said he had a hundred thousand subscribers I think he's closing in on like a quarter of a million right now on his YouTube channel and creators with this level of viewership make roughly 500 to a thousand dollars per video based on a survey of content creators last year by Business Insider completely irrelevant how many subscribers you have completely irrelevant on how much money you make putting those videos Out ruff said this ain't about money or clicks and Views as believed by many there is real corruption happening here and it goes much higher than just the police department and that's what this is when you got a guy on the street with a camera recording police this is just a little window it's a small glimpse into the amount of corruption that lies behind the veil because if these cops are going to do this to a cameraman that's being recorded and it's going to be uploaded where potentially Millions upon millions of people can see it what are they doing behind closed doors what are they doing when the body cams aren't rolling this is the second incident and the subsequent charges from Judge Schumacher [Music] oh too bad hey you can keep walking you can film just keep walking over there what's your name badge number field training officer go over there we'll deal with that later you need to move it's public sidewalk right you need to move seriously you need to move you need to go back I'm dealing with this you're now interfering with our investigation you can go over there fearing is a physical activity you need to go go no no dude if you don't leave to move that part over there I'm dealing with them I'm doing with the investigation call your supervisor I'll do an investigation right here if you don't move back over there so I can deal with this investigation dealing with an investigation translation I'm conducting my road piracy operation and you're interfering if you don't move you're gonna get arrested you need to move back your body can't mind I'm on a public side you need to move back we're doing with that hey watch your driver you need to move back do you think you need to move back tape or something are you going to move back or no no you need to move back better check yourself homie you need to move back you're interviewing by an investigation right now one more warning one more warning you need to back off go ahead dude you need to back off you stupid let's let's just stop and absorb this real quick before we listen to these charges by Schumacher an American is standing on a public sidewalk exercising his American constitutionally protected rights and a man or two men with uniforms badges guns clown costumes and coming with the authority of the state who swore to protect those rights are the very ones who take those rights away that's the irony that's the grave irony of this situation so this is what I'm going to do Mr ruff in the case of 2021-048968 that is the case of failure debate to obey a police officer and that's what we just took a look at you were found guilty of that matter I'm giving you 90 days of jail 90 days of jail will be postponed I'm placing you on probation for 24 months you are directed to do counseling I'm sending you to Prodigy Health Care to do counseling you are to contact them within two business days to set up that Council um he literally did nothing wrong he literally was exercising his constitutionally protected right so not only did the cops violate his rights but now the judge who's supposed to be protecting his rights also violates his rights for having done nothing wrong back to this article Ruff has frequently filmed in Mesa but he travels to other Valley jurisdictions as well he has racked up six filming related court cases in Mesa two of which were dismissed the recent sentencing was for the other four cases filming banned for three years rough sentence includes 180 days of suspended jail time if the sentence sticks this time we'll hang over ruff's head during his three-year probation a condition of his probation is quote you shall not go to areas where the Mesa Police Department are conducting an investigation and you shall not record any members of the Mesa Police Department while you were on probation in other words I am stripping you of your right your unalien right to film in public I who I'm supposed to be protecting your rights am violating your rights and you know what they don't care here's the third incident and it's Unique because he's not arrested on the scene but they submit the charges nine months after reviewing this video he's charged with disorderly conduct fighting or cussing at the cop and trespassing [Music] you solicited a trespass you stupid son of a [ __ ] soliciting a trespass you solicited it we watched you you [ __ ] idiot dudes how [ __ ] dumb can you be how [ __ ] dumb can you be [ __ ] how [ __ ] dumb can you be [ __ ] you solicited a trespass hey you stupid piece of [ __ ] [ __ ] hey [ __ ] you dudes you [ __ ] punk [ __ ] know your face [ __ ] you dude you are a straight piece of [ __ ] dude I'm Gonna Make You Famous again it's Chris here again buddy yeah we're gonna make you famous again you stupid son of a [ __ ] now we've seen this time and time again cops are so thin-skinned they're so easily offended that they could not let this go to such an extent that they brought the charges nine months after this happened and here's the sentencing on that in the case of 2021-071040 Mr Ruffin placing you on probation Court doesn't enter a judgment guilt to defense of disorderly conduct as a class one misdemere and trespassing as a Class one misdemeanor 180 days of jail 180 days will be suspended three years of Probation and I am ordering counseling I am ordering that you do Anchor management on the trespass charges 30 days jail 30 days suspended 12 months probation that and Mr Ruff as to the matters why do people with cameras get anger management classes seems like the person who's angry is the guy who brought out the silver bracelets laid hands on a guy with a camera and kidnapped him seems like those people would get the anger management classes seems like those guys would get the 180 days in jail and all the probation time that you are being placed on probation for and the failure to put to obey police officer and in this matter Mr Ruff a determined condition of your probation now let's just talk about that for a second that's why I put this up here on the screen failure to obey a cop's unlawful command and he's barred from recording cops during probation in other words he's barred from exercising his supposedly constitutionally protected rights that's not going very well for us I'm directing that you shall not go to areas where the Mesa Police Department are conducting an investigation that you shall not record any members of the Mesa Police Department while you are on probation that is the order of this court and I know Mr Roth that you believe that you have a First Amendment right and people do have rights to record but when you violate those rights and then they turn the way that you did Mr Rupp I believe it is an appropriate term of probation giving giving the nature and the contact that you've had with the officers and the things that did you hear what he said because when you violate those rights let's listen to that again rights to record but when you violate those rights in the nature and the way that you did Mr up when you've how do you violate a right by exercising a right the person who violated the rights are the cops and now the judge the judge is violating his rights the cops violated his rights but you can't violate your own rights by exercising your right of freedom of speech and freedom of the press back to this article rough 32 told Gilbertson news he's appealing Ruff believes he's being wrongly punished for exercising his constitutional rights and they're claiming that this is a quote directly from him I'm allowed to walk around and film things he said in court before sentencing I am allowed to swear in front of a police officer in close proximity it's called the First Amendment freedom of speech and protest I don't know if he really said this or not but I I've been saying for a while now we need to stop telling people hey I'm allowed to stand here I'm allowed to film police I'm allowed to say these things allowed denotes permission and no free man needs to ask permission to exercise a right we're free to walk around and film things we're free we have an unalienable right to do what we do it's not about being allowed unalienable means nobody can give it to you in other words nobody can say hey you're permitted to do this and nobody can take it from you we really probably should think about changing our terminology into not allowed because if you're allowed to do it today maybe you're not allowed to do it tomorrow but if you have an unalienable right to do that then nobody can legitimately take it away even though that's what they're doing right here they're trying to take it away but it's not legitimate but judge Raymond Schumacher ruled that Ruff went beyond protected First Amendment activity which has been widely interpreted to include the right to film in public in the four cases he was charged for in terms of the First Amendment this is Schumacher I think the prosecution is correct in their statements Mr Ruff that the police really their concern is one of safety of themselves and safety of others guess what police officer safety doesn't Trump individual rights and even Public Safety doesn't Trump individual rights it never has and never will legitimately especially when they're trying to do investigations well you know most of the time cops aren't just out there doing investigations they're out there conducting their Road piracy operations they're out there economically terrorizing people they're out there taking freedoms away from other people and that warrants members of the public with cameras exposing them and offering that vital layer of transparency this is Schumacher still the fact that you would have just showed up and recorded is one thing the fact that you would retort and say the things you did is another and say the things you did you know you mean those things judge that are protected by the First Amendment freedom of speech you escalated things you escalated things and you did it purposefully and you did it intentionally well guess what purposefully is intentionally while filming Ruff sometimes engages in heated debate with police officers when they command him to do something he believes is not required and it's all on video it's all documented anybody can see this the judge saw it the judge should have seen hey hey cops out there he was on public property hey cops out there he has the right to say things to you that might piss you off that's what the freedom of speech is all about but that's not what Schumacher is all about Schumacher is not all about protecting your rights he's about taking your rights away if he that's rough is told to move away after arriving to film the police off into the other side of the street Ruff tells the officer he doesn't have to because he is far enough away and is not interfering with the investigation now here's the last incident and the subsequent charges yeah get me on body cam saying dumb [ __ ] so you can get a law passed Ed wessing ain't smart we know what the game is bye-bye sucker you guys see this right here now notice the blacktop so he directly stood momentarily on the blacktop off of the sidewalk and then that's all the justification that cop needed because he was looking for a justification to do so to charge him with trespassing anything they're looking for any way that they can to put their hands on you right here on their property that you've already been asked to get off this is an easement are you serious put your camera down you guys see this right here hey here take my phone yeah here take my phone stop traffic take my camera equipment too and never by the way this guy never asked for permission it's always better to ask for forgiveness later than permission right now just take the phone grab directly or whoever's property because once it gets out of sight once they have it once they claim it once they check it in the likelihood of you ever seeing that again pretty much nil camera you can step back just grab it just grab the camera buy the property I didn't trust that I could come back this is an easement right here this right here this is an easement dude you guys are messing up right now the case of 2021.043799 I am not going to place you on probation for that Criminal Trespass case however Mr Ruffin I know you had a total of six picks cases and I realized that two of them were dismissed so I'm not taking those into consideration but the fact that you continue to pick up these cases that your behavior hasn't been changed or modified um I just you keep picking up these cases your behavior has not been modified you're still out there exercising your freedom of speech who do you think you are an American or something what do you think you're doing out there with a camera trying to add transparency to the local police department who's corrupt as the day is long who are you I do believe that jail time is warranted Mr Ruff it's based upon your prior criminal history it's based upon the number of cases that you've picked up in this court it's based upon the conduct that you continued to show and the disdain that you continue to show not only this court but others so what's worse showing disdain for cops who are obviously out there trampling on people's rights and a judge who's obviously shows great disdain for your rights what's worse that or you showing disdain for a corrupt Injustice system who swore to protect your rights but they're doing the exact opposite what's what's worse for that reason I did find you guilty I'm opposing five days in jail those five days are straight time um there's no two for one that jail time will be concurrent and the case ending in 2021-063-564. bottom line is none of these State actors are on your side we are all direct D in this case if you want to go out and you want to film police they're setting precedence here saying that if you're out there and you think you can exercise your freedom of speech you think you can go out there and take your camera and act like press well guess what we're gonna send you to jail we're gonna put you on probation we're gonna find you we're gonna drag you through the Injustice system we gotta stop this we gotta all come together whether you agree with the way direct D or whoever does their auditing or what they say to police or whatever do we have freedom of speech or not do we have freedom to act as the press or not do you need special credentials now do we need permission to go out there and say the things that we want to say or do we want to live in a free world do you want to live in a North Korea style totalitarian state or do you want to live in America really we got to
