hilariously Oklahoma is trending high on Twitter in this news of what the sheriff said and the county commissioner said during that private meeting is making national news here's a piece of that we're going to go over some articles here from the hill and some from National Publications but look at that trending really really high on Twitter right now calling for the resignations of several mccurten Curtain County leaders over audio Sheriff to county commissioner reportedly discussing beating killing and burying two journalists news 9's storm Jones is following the developments this is a big story from Ida Bell storm yeah that's right Robin Lacy the mccurtain County Commission convened an emergency beating killing and murdering look illegal recording the Sheriff's Office says eating about 30 minutes ago this comes after public outcry over comments recorded by Bruce Willingham he's a reporter and publisher with a mccurtan Gazette he says he left his recorder behind to capture what he suspected were open meeting act violations instead he said he heard what he heard were threats and innuendos surrounding murdering him and his son who also worked for the paper take a listen I was expecting it you know chitter chatter stuff about County Business and stuff and and that's how it started and then it got down to the look at this on the sidebar mccurtain county is now trending high and trending in Oklahoma mccurtain County so Oklahoma and mccurtain county is trending high on Twitter and it's gaining national attention while the mccurtain County Sheriff's Office put out this statement I just did a live stream on it where they want to shift all the blame to the guy who recorded the criminal activity being plotted by the Commissioners and the sheriff's department amazing stuff going on here I'm extremely serious stuff also conversation of hiring Hitmen or how to find a Hitman Governor Kevin Stitt is calling on Sheriff Kevin Clardy and commissioner Mark Jennings to uh resign also the other folks heard on that audio tape the governor's calling for them all to resign now our Dan Stein is in mccurtain County right now at that emergency meeting she says notably absent from the meeting is the sheriff and commissioner Jennings shall have updates throughout the day on air and on the news 9. now another thing that people are going to do in this Nationwide press release from mccurtain county is that they're going to try to turn this into a racist thing and while there was a racist element in it the journalists that they were plotting to kill on the recording per the recording allegedly were white this person right here says thanks to local reporters in Oklahoma and Tennessee we get to hear what happens when the Republicans now they're going to make it a left versus right Paradigm lie thing drop the dog whistle we need to stop pretending what they have become it's racist it's authoritarian that's this that's the major problem right here is that it is authoritarian that's the big problem authoritarianism is a cancer it's a malignant cancer it's bigoted you don't have to believe us just listen to them tell you and of course they're pointing to the recordings that pretty much implicates them for plotting a murder of two white journalists it doesn't matter about the skin color of the journalists by the way what matters is that there's criminal activity being plotted on recording so what are they going to do about it well right now they're trying to cover it up a Southeastern Oklahoma Sheriff's Office says the recording in which the sheriff and others are reportedly heard discussing killing two journalists that's big beans was illegal and predicted felony charges will be filed against them not against us not against the sheriff's department not against the Commissioners not against the plotters of evil and murder the statement on the Sheriff's Office Facebook page the first public statement since the comments made by Sheriff Kevin clarty and others were reported by The mccurten Gazette news does not address the recorded comments about killing journalists and hanging black people but caused the situation complex and one quote we regret having to address yeah you regret having to address it because you probably regret that you got caught saying it they don't regret saying it they regret that they got caught saying it that's what kind of people we're dealing with here they say in the mccurtain county sheriff's office Facebook page the last 72 hours have been amongst the most difficult and disruptive and recent memory this is a very complex situation and one we regret having to address it's only complex because you want it to be complex it's really actually very simple conspiracy to commit murder that's that's a charge late on you there is and has been an ongoing investigation into multiple significant violations wait for it violations of the Oklahoma security of communications act title 13. oh it's not about you plotting murder which states that it's illegal to secretly record a conversation which you are not involved and do not have the consent of at least one of the involved parties there is a significant number of victims in this criminal activity and it has taken significant effort and time to identify them and corroborate evidence the the poor victims who were sitting there mining their own business plotting a murder doggone it there shouldn't have been a secret recording let's go get those real criminals the criminal who laid down the recording device we must get him and bring him to immediate Justice amazing it's a crazy world we live in the statement calls the past 72 hours amongst the most difficult and disruptive and recent memory Joey Senate a journalism professor at Oklahoma State University said under Oklahoma law the recording would be legal if it were obtained in a place where the officials being recorded did not have a reasonable expectation of privacy Bruce Willingham the longtime publisher of The mccurtain Gazette news said the recording was made on March 6th when he left a voice activated recorder inside the room after a county commissioner's meeting because he suspected the group was continuing to conduct County Business after the meeting had ended in violation of the state's open meeting act Willingham said he twice spoke with his attorneys to be sure he was doing nothing illegal so I wonder what who the attorney or the attorney is going to get in hot Waters Willingham going to get in hot water or is the sheriff and this Sheriff's Captain Alicia Manning and these two County Commissioners are they going to get in trouble because that's that's where the action fall in my opinion the newspaper released portions of the recording which Sheriff Clarity Sheriff's Captain Alicia Manning and District 2 County Commissioner Mark Jennings appeared to discuss Bruce and Chris Willingham a reporter for the newspaper who is Bruce willingham's son Jennings tells Clarity and Manning I know where two deep holes are dug if you ever need him and the sheriff responds I've got an excavator Jennings also reportedly says that he's known two or three hit men in Louisiana oh yeah that's that's something that happens all the time I mean you know Hitman don't you you know at least one you got him in your little black book in case you might need him for some interesting purposes nefarious purposes they're very quiet guys well not so quiet that you didn't know about him in the recording Jennings also appears to complain about not being able to hang black people saying they got more rights than we got now I cover all of this in this video right here and I'll leave this link in the description below jail administrator Larry Hendricks was also present during the conversation the spokesperson for the FBI's office in Oklahoma City said the agency's policy is not to confirm or deny any ongoing investigation well of course we're going to invest our fellow Boys in blue and we'll get back with you and we'll let you know what happened Oklahoma governor Kevin Stitt and state representative Eddie Dempsey a republican who represents the area have called for clarity Manning Jennings and Hendricks to resign to resign how about to go to jail how about pass resign don't collect 200 pay 2 000 pay twenty thousand dollars and go to jail how about that more than 100 people gathered outside the mccurtain county courthouse in Idabel on Monday with many of them calling for the sheriff and other County officials to resign call them to be jailed that that's the only just thing in this situation right here if it's true that they were plotting the murder of two journalists the statement said the sheriff's office will issue news releases until its investigation concludes quote and findings are forwarded to the appropriate authorities for felony charges to be filed on those involved and what the sheriff's office is saying is not filed not felony charges filed on the sheriff and the captain and the two Commissioners but felony charges they say should be filed on the journalist who the sheriff and the other three were planning to murder
