[Applause] this thing is oh no no no i know just driving welcome back to the lackluster channel today's story focuses on a tweet posted by oyen higgins on may 31st 2020 large crowds formed to protest the killing of george floyd the protests were peaceful until nighttime where vandalism ruled the streets more than 50 people were arrested 18 bystanders were hospitalized and 9 officers were treated for injuries the body-worn camera footage that were posted shows officers pushing non-violent demonstrators to the ground spraying pepper spray on people and into crowds and one officer saying he may have hit people with a car the police commissioner william gross said in a statement that he has ordered an investigation as soon as the videos were brought to his attention saying quote i've placed a sergeant involved in this incident on administrative leave and i will take any additional action as necessary at the conclusion of the investigation the boston police patrolmen's association released this statement claiming that 30 police officers went to the hospital and that hundreds more were treated for trauma and injury sustained after being pelted with a seemingly endless stream of rocks bottles batteries bricks bleach urine and kerosene and goes on to accuse a defense attorney of stitching together videos with no context the attorney carl williams who they are accusing of creating those videos claims that it was not him and the tweet just below mr williams is from oynn higgins who claims to have edited the videos together himself most of the videos are graphic and cannot be shown here on youtube i will leave a link down below so you can see the original tweets in the meantime the first clip i have to show you looks as though an officer is handing a stolen tie to another officer it's pretty nice while it is possible that they were picking up evidence and it was logged appropriately the dropped item seems to have been from looting one of the nearby stores in this next clip we see the sergeant who is now on administrative leave claiming to hit some of the protesters with his car [Applause] did you hear me it was at this moment that he knew he freaked out [Music] [Music] [Applause] these comments indicate a callousness on the part of the officer regardless of whether or not he actually did it hearing a police officer who is supposed to be protecting and serving the public laughing about it is not a good feeling the officer's face after realizing that it was all caught on body cam is priceless it is important to film our government officials and being that police officers are the most conspicuous form of government we must always film them we have to keep them accountable and that is why first amendment auditing is so important keep filming keep foyering thank you for watching if you like this video be sure to check out owen higgins on twitter and if you have an interaction that you'd like me to review email it submit it on my website or facebook messenger all links are down below that concludes our video for today please subscribe and turn on all notifications so you never miss a video if you're old here like share comment down below what you think of this interaction and consider a channel membership or merch to further support the channel if you have an incident you'd like us to review link it down below or contact us through the social media platforms linked in the description [Music] you
