On today's body cam, we're checking out driver fails miserably trying to switch seats during traffic stop. >> On February 11th, 2026, a deputy clocked a vehicle going 58 in a 40 mph zone and initiated a traffic stop. As the car pulled over, he stayed in his unit for a moment, keeping an eye on the occupants. On the dash cam, you can see them constantly glancing back at him. The moment he steps out, the people inside panic and try to switch seats. The female driver scrambles into the back while another passenger slips behind the wheel. As the deputy approaches, he bypasses the front window entirely. >> Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. Everybody can see this. What the heck? You thought that was going to work? They put the lights on you for a re? They could see everything in there, man. What What you doing? As the car pulled over, he stayed in his unit for a moment, keeping an eye on the occupants. >> On the dash cam, you can see them constantly glancing back at him. >> The moment he steps out, the people inside panic and try to switch seats. >> The female driver scrambles into the back while another pass behind the wheel. >> As the deputy approaches, he bypasses the front window entirely. >> Instead, he walks straight to the rear driver's side door where the original driver is trying to hide. That's the exact moment the body cam audio cuts in. License, registration, proof of insurance. >> Photo of your driver's license or ID. >> I can see. I >> really thought that was going to work. anything. >> So on the iPhones, what's really cool, if you hit the little search button, the little magnifying glass, you can type in driver's license. Type in license. You ain't know Apple was scanning your stuff. You ain't know >> that's not yours. >> You got other IDs in that phone. >> I got Lorraine. Everybody else is mine. When they hit >> I got you. >> You don't have one. >> Nothing inside the car to be concerned about. No guns, knives, nothing like that. I got to grab my notepad. >> Okay. >> How are you guys doing tonight? >> Good. We're trying to be good. >> Trying to be good. I hear that. Where y'all coming from? >> My sister. >> Okay. >> They've been drinking. >> Going out or going home? >> We trying to see it. >> No, we was going out though. >> They was coming to get me because these my sister we just we just got back in touch after our dad, you know. So, I haven't seen them in like 12 years, 15 years. Okay. >> They just want to come and pick me up and take me out so we don't have to. >> No, no problem. >> How do you spell your first name? >> T A L I A >> T A L I A. Talia. >> Yeah. >> How do you spell your last name? Common spelling. >> Yep. >> What's your date of birth? 01. >> All right. Give me one second, ladies. >> New head of the vehicle. Do you have your driver's license on you? >> I got a picture. >> H. You got a picture? I'll take a picture of it. >> Well, unfortunately, by jumping into the driver's seat of the car for the >> You assume control of the vehicle, so I got to get it to You dragged yourself into it for no reason. >> Yeah. When people start doing weird stuff like switching seats, a lot of us come cuz >> I'm not worried about that. He scared the hell out of me. He just came with him. I'm like, "What the hell?" So, same thing. If you hit the little the little search bar up at the top, you type in license, it'll pop it up if you have a photo of it. >> Can you just give me your date of birth real quick? >> And you have a valid driver's license or or is it just the ID card? I don't have it on you. >> She have a valid license. >> Do you have a valid license? >> Mhm. >> I don't like that. I don't like to smirk. >> I do. >> Okay. All right. I'll be right back. Why lie? Why lie? You know you don't have no license. That's why. Well, you you just got an ID. Mhm. Mhm. Man, I don't understand that. And why don't people carry their IDs in general? Even if you got like in her case, she probably doesn't have a driver's license. I I I'm willing to bet on it. You know what I'm saying? Hey, if she come back with a license, I would be surprised, but and I then I think the one in the back seat gave her wrong information as well. That's true. What I think I think they all giving wrong information. But why don't people come outside with their ID though? Like re like seriously because let's say you go out and something happens. Let's just say you go out, you get hit by a car, right? Okay, ambulance come, whatever. They coming to figure out. Okay, whoopde-doop. Let's see. Um, you know, let's try and identify this person. Whatever. They're going to go through your bag, whatever. Try to find your wallet. You know what I'm saying? Whatever. Right. But no, you don't have nothing on you. and then they can't get into the phone because it's probably protected with a with a code. So, it's just a couple of extra steps that they got to go through to actually get the right information, you know? It's just people people don't really don't think about that. Like, oh, I'm trying to deceive people, you know, by not carrying my ID, but something tragic could happen and it would be better for them to identify you sooner rather than later. I started telling him to make the left and turn off into the Waw Wa. So, we're off the road and all of a sudden they're switching seats. I'm like, what the [ __ ] >> Yo, I heard that. I was >> like, what the [ __ ] >> Bunch of dumb seats. >> Her license ain't good. I already know it. >> Yeah. But the problem is the person who's sitting in the seat now, the driver seat now, probably doesn't have one either cuz she showed me an ID card. >> Oh no, >> they're both jammed up. >> Well, she already told me it's not valid. She said she had to pay something. So it's like >> one traffic 9. I have one by number and one by name and date of birth when you can have a valid nothing to mention in 3495. No dealer ID card. >> H >> you need me to ask if anybody's got a deal. >> 104. I'm going to check one more time. Make sure she gave me the right 14. >> Can you get the rear seat passenger? >> The one that I'm talking to here with the red hair. >> Get her out of the car, please. Oh, >> no. You take that cuz you're going to need it. I didn't know you really I didn't realize it landed here. I thought I thought you took it. >> The name that she's giving me doesn't come back. >> The one that was in the driver's seat originally. Yes. >> Okay. So, let's get her out of the car. You know how we could tell she was given fake ID? Because when she went when when she went for the date of birth, she said I think she said O2 and then paused for a long like paused for a little trying to come up with something but like the rest of her date of birth and it's like nah. I knew she wasn't giving right information. >> Ma'am, what was your name? >> Talia. >> Talia. Okay, go ahead and step out for me. >> What's happening? >> Step out of the car. When I call somebody before I step out of the vehicle, >> that person you call ain't going to help. >> Can you tell me what's going on first? >> I'm telling you to step out of the car. Come step right here. >> Come here. >> I think I might be going. >> What type of outfit is this? >> They just stopped me and they told me to get out the car. >> Spell your first name for me again. Um, I I guess you said I was speeding. I didn't realize I was speeding. >> Okay. This is more important than your >> Okay. Go ahead and spell your name. >> So, you realize that you have a learner's license, right? >> Mhm. >> Okay. And by >> by getting into the driver's seat, you have assumed that she has a valid license, right? You have valid license. >> Okay. So, you've opened yourself up to five different tickets right now. >> Okay. Listen, I wasn't Uh, now, well, you got in the driver's seat. >> Too late. >> You assume possession of the vehicle by getting in the driver's seat. I'm not going to write you five tickets. >> Okay. >> Okay. Because you're probably the only one in this car that has a valid license, right? >> You have a valid license in the back. >> Hm. >> I don't think she doesn't see your hand like this. Yeah. >> So, you're probably the only one that has one in this car. Your license is out of quarter, right? Yeah. >> So, we're going to deal with whatever we got going on back here, >> but understand that y'all could get in a lot of trouble by doing what you just did. Okay. >> Yes. >> She confirmed. >> See, that's a solid officer right there. Cuz I would I would write her a ticket. I would write her tickets. And you know why I would? Because she wasn't truthful about the part of the ID in the very beginning. That's the thing that turned me off about her where when he was like uh you know do you have a valid ID or whatever and with that smirk. Mhm. Mhm. Everybody know that you lying but you can't be honest. That's the part that would turn me off about her and I would just go full throttle with everything. But the that officer is pretty solid man. the spelling of her name and her birthday. >> 99 or 98? >> 99. >> She said 02. >> 98. >> Oh, I didn't realize I said 99. >> Talia L is my middle initial. >> Okay. >> I told wrong. I didn't know. I told you. >> All right. Maybe that was the M. >> For right now, I want you to step up to the back of my car. The front of my car. Stay with me, please. Go to work. You going to the county work. >> We're going to try that again with Miss with a birth year of 99, not 98. >> I have a bullet in my back that's stuck in my leg. So this is like you have a jacket or something I can get for you. I don't got one. I didn't bring one. >> We'll be as quick as possible. >> Yes. February. >> Still not coming up with any deal. The closest one is 94. >> Can I have a unit 51 with a rapid, please? >> Rapid ID. >> Fingerprint scanner. Natalie, can you put your phone down for a second, please? >> Say what's going on. >> I can tell you to put your phone down for a second, please. >> You can put on speaker. That's fine. All right. For right now, I'm just going to put your You're just being detained because your name your name is not coming back to anything right now. I don't know why. Okay. If it does come back to you, have a valid driver's license or any driver's license in any state with the name Talia with a date of birth of one99 or 1998, >> you can give it a citation and go on your way. Okay. >> Okay. But the problem I have right now is you're coming back with absolutely no record at all. >> Okay. So, mom was saying that right now, >> man, I would hang that freaking phone up, man. that pause and he's trying to like find my thing um on there for my my driver's license and stuff and then >> she's a grown adult. Hang that [ __ ] phone up. >> Oh, it doesn't look like you have any pockets, but you have anything hidden? >> No. >> Okay. No knives, nothing like that. >> Nothing in your bra. >> Okay. How do you have my phone though and talk to Keep talking to my mom? Can I get my phone? >> No, not while you're back here. No, >> you're a grown adult. >> Can my sister don't get out and talk to me while I'm right here? >> I'm going to have everyone get out of the car here in a second, but just go and put your feet in for me. Thank you. >> Hey, Mom. Hello. Yes. >> Hi, this is Corporal Snow with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. >> Hi. >> Are you the registered owner of the car? >> Oh, yeah. >> Can can you confirm your name for me, please? Okay. >> I appreciate it. Um, what I just want to confirm her information that she's giving me because what she's giving me comes back with no record whatsoever. I know she does have a valid license. Well, I don't know has valid but okay. >> I know she did have a certificate of it did come here my residence. >> Her last name is >> first name is Shantel. >> Shantel. >> Shantel. >> So, she's not spelling it right and not giving it to us correctly. >> Okay. >> All right. Give me give me one second. Let me get my notepad and then we'll get the right spelling from you. Okay. Is there any reason why she would be giving me >> an incorrect date of birth? >> No, she doesn't have any warrants that I know of for anything they did. >> All right. >> I don't know. >> Well, my car please. >> Listen, I'm going to try not to. There's at least one person in the car with a valid license. Although, it's a learner's license. It's valid. So, but my big problem is she's switching seats in the middle of a traffic stop. So that's that's why she's in handcuffs cuz she hasn't given me the right information. Okay. So like I told her, if everything comes back and everything's clear, then we'll go from there. But I don't like where I don't like what I'm seeing right now. Okay. >> All right. Well, just to save her phone cuz I see that it's in the yellow. I'm going to hang up. Um and I will let her call you one way or another. Okay. >> All right. >> Thank you. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Sean Paulia common spelling. >> She just saying Natalia part. >> OH, that man. >> Wait, wait, wait. Hold up. Hold up. Nah, hold on, hold on. Let me make it. Hold up. It look like we got some info, man. God damn Shantalia. Okay. What's this? So, Florida driver license uh failed to pay traffic ticket. Failed to pay traffic ticket fine. Criminal failure to pay. God damn. Traffic ticket fine. Traffic what the godamn. Failure to appear for traffic summon. Court requested fees. 60 months who 60 months habitual traffic violator. Oh man. Nonjudgment suspension. Oh god damn. Failure to pay traffic. You can't drive. You can't [ __ ] drive to save your life. How [sighs and gasps] how are you getting pulled over all these different times? Cuz these are each different traffic things. These are all. And then you not paying none of the money. You not paying none of the money that you owe, but you want to go out to the club cuz that's where they was headed to. They headed out to go to the club. So you got money to go out and go to the club. Or maybe you don't. And the guys is buying you the drinks. You know what I'm saying? We know. Whatever. You know what I'm saying? They dressed to go get, you know, they dressed, you know, guys are hunters, okay? Guys are hunters, okay? And they looking like they looking to get caught. All right. So, you know, but yeah, no, [laughter] never mind. Never mind all that, man. But the thing is is that you can get dressed and go out to the club and do all of this, shake your tail, but you can't take care of your business, man. priorities is all jacked up, man. Y'all was better off having the other girl drive from the beginning, the one that has the learner's permit because there's a little bit more leeway. Like at le you know she she whatever it's a learner or whatever she got learner's license or whatever the junior joint, she probably just can't be driving at night and need to have somebody 21 and older and all that whatever her stipulations is. But that's a little bit better than all of this. And you lying about your name and everything. You're your ass is grass, man. You're done. You're not learning. >> Makes a lot of sense. It's a felony. >> Cool. There it is. >> I got her name. >> Sorry, buddy. I thought I was like [ __ ] going. >> No rapping. >> I used to have one. >> No, we figured out why she's giving me the false name. >> Thanks, Mom. >> No, she's a habitual traffic offender from 123 to 2025 for 60 months. So, >> felonious. >> It is a felonious. That would make a lot of sense why they were switching. traffic. >> Mom dropped the dime boy last night for a couple hours deals not valid. 1215 of 2025 put in nothing to mention in pops >> 104 and I see the habitual status as well. Thank you. I'll be switching back tonight. >> Unbelievable. >> You're welcome. I understand why she's giving me false names now. >> No, [screaming] >> how the hell does she get a license in the first place? She can't drive, man. >> All right. So, just so lady use you ladies are aware, you can't drive this car more than to that wall gas station parking lot. >> Okay. >> Okay. The owner of the car is aware that a licensed driver has it, but you need to call someone with a valid license to come get the car. >> I should be towing it. Okay. >> But I'm not going to leave the three of you on the side of one of those one of the worst roads in Palm Beach County. Okay. >> So, I'm going to ask now, are there any drugs in this car that I need to know about? >> No drugs? >> No. Okay. No turn. >> I am not right now. I don't want to write you any tickets cuz you necessarily didn't do anything wrong other than try to help out a friend. However, I want you to understand that she this is a felony charge and by assisting her, you're aiding and abetting a felon and that itself is a felony. Okay. Okay. I am going to give you guys back the paperwork and you need to call her mother and tell her that you guys are at the Waw Wa and she needs to come get it. Okay. >> Okay. So, what's going to happen with my sister? >> She's going to jail. It's a felony. I can't let it go. She's a habitual traffic offender. So, she shouldn't even be anywhere near the driver's seat of a car cuz every time it's a felony. And I explain it explains why she's giving me false information cuz she gave me a fake name twice. >> Just enough of a fake name to where I couldn't find it. All right. >> Can I give you this to give to her cuz this is my phone number so she can be able to call. >> She She's going to have her phone. >> But she not going to have it too much because if she in jail >> I I if she wants phone numbers out of her phone, I'd be more than happy to write them down for her and give them to I just want to give her this cuz I already have money on my phone. So that way she can be able to call me cuz I already have money on my phone. >> Okay. I'll give this >> she can't get in contact with nobody else. I already got money. >> Okay. So she'll be able to talk. >> Call us. Yeah. >> Okay. >> All right. >> I'm so sorry. >> You don't have to apologize to me. >> I have another question. So I know usually sometimes it's not a bond with certain charges or whatever. >> This one's not going to have a bond cuz it's felony. >> It's not going to have a bond. >> So she's going to have she has to meet with the judge. She has to and a judge has to decide to either post like give a bond or release on like recogn. I would make her sit. >> All right. >> But we know how these judges is nowadays. >> We know how these judges is, man. Judge probably going to sentence her to one day in jail. Time served. You know [laughter] that's how these judges be doing, man. But damn. >> Thank you. >> Okay. >> And keep your driver's license on you. >> Mhm. >> That's a That's the only way we can identify you if something happens. >> That's what I >> That's what I said. >> All right, Miss Step on out. Someone fix my my my >> There you go. Okay. Do you have Turn around. Do you have anything hidden on you? I don't want you to get another charge. >> I don't have anything. >> Yo, can you hold the flashlight real quick? >> Okay. Nothing in here. >> I don't have anything. >> All right. All my >> She She ain't got nothing. You can see You can see everything right here. >> So, just so you understand what's happening, you are habitual status offender. That means that this is a felony. I can't do anything about it. You should not be driving. You should be nowhere near the driver's seat. Hey, >> have a seat. You're going to take once you're out. >> This deputy here is going to take your earrings off and you're not talking. >> So, even if they send a letter, I know I didn't go to the DMV yet to get it reinstated. >> Way to ruin the whole outfit. the outfit look whatever anyways, but you gonna have slippers on at the Oh, >> so that's what it is. If they >> habitual, >> I know, but I'm saying they sent me a letter. >> You can't get it. 60 month habitual status. >> I'm talking about before like the habitual. I'm saying before y'all just stopped me this time and I wasn't considered a habitual judge yet. >> You were considered habitual on November 30th of 2025. No, I wasn't because they sent they took me to jail for it and I they charged me for a felony. Then I had a rearrangement and it was a misdemeanor and the judge told me if it happened again then I would do 10 days mandatory but it wasn't considered habitual just yet unless it happens again this >> so so he so he named you habitual and that >> making this one yeah making this one habitual and like I said it was a felony then but then they charged it with a misdemeanor. So my question was in December they gave me a letter um but my mama didn't give it to me till January but they gave me a letter um for a certificate of compliance and like I said I haven't went to the DMV yet but if I had went to the DMV and did it then >> I don't I couldn't tell you because if he named you habitual in that hearing then then that would uh be uh reinstated. No other jewelry on you? >> Belly bone piercing. Get that out of >> All right. Lean back just for a second. Turn your head to the left. Just for a second. Hold on. Let me put this on. No. Lean back. Turn your head to the left. I'll pause. So after I do the 10 door 10 doors 10 days mandatory I'm able to get out. >> That's up to the judge and or magistrate depending on who sees your case. >> Oh I hope so. Lord please please. I don't got time to be doing more than 10 days. >> Shouldn't have been driving. >> When I get in there I'm able to make phone calls right cuz I have to be to work in the morning. So somebody going to have to Oh then for 10 days. That's going to be so freaking mad having me calling these people. >> They um did you give my phone to them? >> Oh my god. I don't get phone. >> Huh? >> Um well cuz I know I just don't I um that's my mom's car and those are my cousins and sisters. Are you are you or someone able to call since I don't have my phone right now to tell my mom like that she has to um contact them to be able to pick her car? >> You told them that we need to contact her. >> Okay. I'm not moving until she gets there because she only has the learner's license. She shouldn't be driving at all. >> Wait, past your curfew. No one in that car is licensed. That's a lot of suspensions. >> Yeah, I know. Most of them though was not during the time I It's like a lot. It's like it still all goes under my name, but at the timing I was 19. I got with somebody that was 10 years older than me and we were together for 5 years. So, yes, under my vehicle with like my license plate going to my name. He was getting tickets under that I didn't know at first. It was just a lot. At first, he was hiding tickets and stuff and they were coming to the house. Then when I did find out about them, I just didn't have the money when I was with that person at the time. I was kind of taking care of everything. So, >> well, so the >> Yeah, but you still know that this is a problem nowadays. So, that would explain a a while ago, but you still know that these things are being held over your head, but you got money to go shake your tail at the club, but you don't want to pay your tickets and your responsibilities. These are on your driver's license, not on your on your uh whatchamacallit >> car. >> Your car >> plate. >> Right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> Tickets don't go to the car. They go to the person. Right. >> Right. That's what I'm seeing. >> One, two, three, four, five, six failed to pays. One criminal failed not to pay, which is just [clears throat] you failed to pay on a criminal ticket. Then you have a failed to appear, which believe it or not, that [ __ ] you over more than most of them. >> And no. Yeah, those I know >> because that >> man, that's a bench warrant. >> Failed to appear. I can't release you, >> right? It makes >> you have to come here for a misdemeanor, >> right? >> Yeah. >> Every time. >> Mhm. >> Your license is suspended. >> And then that was the thing though, too. Like even with that, that's why I'm like it just it just all sucks cuz my first time of doing a failure to appear. I was at the courtroom the day before doing the payment plan and then the next day I had got a new job for [music] FedEx and I was at the orientation. I called them soon as I left. I was like, "Oh my god, I had court at 8. It was like 10 something and they was like after like [music] an hour or something like that, I already had a warrant for my arrest." She was booked into jail for driving as a habitual traffic offender [music] and giving a false name to the deputy. Court records show she spent about 7 days in custody before bonding out for $4,000. Later on, the original felony driving charge was reduced to a lesser suspended license [music] offense, and she plead not guilty to both charges at her arraignment. As of the latest court records we reviewed for this video, there's [music] no conviction or final disposition listed, and the case is still ongoing. Everything heavy, but you make it feel so [music] light. Yeah. You make it feel [music] Late night [singing] drive. Don't be [music]
