It begins at a traffic stop where a man has been arrested. The officers alleged that the man dropped something out of his window back at a stoplight before he was pulled over. >> Sure he didn't throw anything out the window. >> He keeps looking back here every time one of us pulls up. >> No, I'm talking about like when he sees one of us over here at the red light. >> Where the car is at where he finally realized I was behind. >> Then one of the officers pretends that he's the canine and sniffs the air for probable cause to search the vehicle. Oh, ain't no >> search the hell out of it. You got >> Oh, I know he's going to alert. >> Go get it. >> I just alerted. >> You mean see it? Search it. Ah, >> I'm going to say the locked glove box might be a good indicator. You got keys on them? >> I don't know. Y'all checking, don't you? >> Got the keys on you, man. We going to need them. You >> record going to need them. Record's coming to get your >> Hey, Record's coming to get your vehicle, man. >> Don't get me trying to lie to say his first name. Got a little bit of shake right there. >> You got a little bit up in there, too. >> I mean, it's still possession. >> I mean, it's still possession. >> Yeah, it's it's definitely petty. There's no doubt about that. >> Towards the end of the video, officer Dickerson started speaking to the suspect in the back of a cruiser. [Music] >> A woman drives by who thinks their arrestee is her brother. She slows down and yells something and the man yells something back. Officer Dickerson then tells her to leave and she responds telling him that she is leaving. >> Hey, hold down. >> Hey, come again. >> Dickerson then ever so gently shoves his suspect by the head into a cruiser, jumps into his cruiser, and chases down the woman. >> Hey, you want to be there, too? Uh-huh. >> Have fun. >> Jesus Christ. She likes [Applause] I'm green. >> Let me ask you a question. Let me ask you a question. You ready for me to ask you? >> Yeah, you can. >> Okay. He said he said I was interfering with him. >> Call an extra line on this car. >> Yeah, you're fine. That's right. It don't matter. >> It matters >> when you interfere with somebody on a traffic stop. >> I'm talking to you. You told me to be >> I don't know what. So I'm just covering my bases making sure I'm right on this. We on this traffic stop still. Old girl pulls up and talking with the guy in the car. I'll tell her to go on. >> Hey, you want to be there, too? >> Uh-huh. >> Have fun. >> Before she I, you know, get her for interfering with the traffic stop. She starts yelling at me and then pulls off. I get her and she pulls over here. She said, "That's my brother. You can't tell me what to do and all that." Continuously running her mouth. >> You told me to go ahead and go. I wasn't talking to him. I was just If that was >> You want to stop and listen or do you want to go to jail right now? I will take you to jail right now. >> You stopping and putting your head over there and stopping and let he can yell at you is interfering with a traffic stop, interfering with an investigation or a traffic stop regardless of what you want to believe or not. Period. >> Did I say something? >> I'm tired of you. Hold up. I didn't say nothing. >> Oh, come on. >> I'm dead. >> I've got this on the conduct. I can charge with interfering with the traffic stop, too. Correct. >> That's all I need to know. >> Yeah. >> Done. Thank you, sir. All right. Later. All I got to do is articulate that. you will do a supplement to articulate that and you don't that puts everybody there in danger, >> right? I want people to pay attention to you. You want to show your ass and everything else. Oh, going to the Do we got booking today? I guess she's in. >> I guess we'll call it. >> She was charged with failure to comply with an officer and resisting arrest. Neither of those two actions were seen in the video. The sad thing is is that the officer had to call a supervisor to see whether or not it was obstruction or interference. Most patriots know that saying something out of your car window is protected by the First Amendment. But for some reason, these ultraatriotic law enforcement officers have no clue about our constitutional rights. But even the supervisor that officer Dickerson called didn't have a clue either. But after a few months in court, the judge found that she was not guilty of the charges placed upon her. Thankfully, the woman has now filed a lawsuit against the officers for violating her civil rights. woman is suing several police officers and the city for alleged violations of her constitutional rights. The federal lawsuit stems from a traffic stop back in February of 2023, which ended in the arrest of plaintiff Jacquila Stevens for failure to comply with an officer and resisting arrest. The lawsuit claims that she complied with the officer's commands and quote, "Officer Dickerson has a history of getting angry at citizens for talking or expressing their First Amendment rights when they assert that he is wrong about something. And Officer Dickerson is frequently wrong about things." In addition to the arrest, the lawsuit alleges that the violations resulted from police customs and traditions. Of course, we all know that. See it dayto-day. anytime you have an interaction with law enforcement. >> The lawsuit accuses officers of manufacturing post hawk justifications and corroboration for Steven's arrest, failing to intervene in an unlawful arrest, executing a false arrest affidavit, giving false testimony, and failing to investigate evidence of a false arrest or issue disciplinary action. The attorney for the officers claimed they were entitled to qualified immunity, going so far as to suggest that Miss Stevens must prove that officer Meyers knew that he was violating her rights. Fortunately, that is not how qualified immunity works. Qualified immunity relies on whether an officer violates clearly established law. The plaintiff is not required to prove whether an officer knows the law, and it's absurd to suggest that such a feat would be possible. However, despite the poorly crafted arguments in the officer's motion for summary judgement, Miss Stevens accepted a settlement offer after a little back and forth. Unfortunately, the details of the settlement are unknown, as is often the case for the encounters I cover. So, let me know in the comments how much you think the taxpayers were punished for the ridiculous and unamerican actions of their police force. [Music] [Music]
