I'm an officer. I have a weapon in the vehicle. I have um we're just trying to go to a show right now. I'm so sorry. I actually I'm like I work third shift and yeah, I'm just really tired. >> Where are you an officer at? >> Uh Milwaukee, but I really have to urinate so bad. >> I understand that, but I can smell alcohol on your breath. So, you're already being deceptive by saying you haven't had anything to drink. >> I don't know about you, but I love it when tyrants have runins with tyrants. On April 7th, 2023, Wheaton, Illinois police stopped Milwaukee police officer Christopher de Laga for reckless driving and speeding reported as about 75 in a 35 mph zone, including driving into oncoming traffic. Well, the Wheaten officers suspect him of driving under the influence. Do you think Officer De la Vega will submit to a field sobriety test? Do you think he'll expect preferential treatment from his fellow thin blue line thugs? Let's watch this together and I'll make some comments along the way. >> Hey sir, how's it going? >> Pretty good. >> Actually, I'm so sorry. I'm an officer. I have a weapon in the vehicle. I have We're just trying to go to a show right now. I'm so sorry. I actually I'm like >> I work >> I'm an officer. I have a weapon in the vehicle while I'm driving drunk. >> Third shift and just really tired. And I can show you the screenshot. >> Of the what? >> Of the show. >> Okay. Um, can you ask me a favor and turn the truck off, please? >> Yes. >> Let me give you a screenshot of the show we're going to. >> Where are you an officer at? >> Uh, Milwaukee. >> So, explain to me the driving that you were just doing. >> I'm I was just trying to get there. The show starts at 8:00. I can't remember. >> All right. I mean, you were going over 20 over the limit. Pass people on the left, went over double cigar. I'm just trying to get through there. >> Okay. Have you got anything to do? >> Are there other than the Is it your center console? >> All right. Do you have your driver's license with you? >> I do. >> I do. >> Yeah. Your driver's license. Do you have your driver's license with you? >> I do. I do apologize for that. Like I said, >> I'll give you a good look. I >> have I have my CCW with me as well. >> You mind just rolling down the that window? Sorry about that. I'll put both on so you >> All right, cool. Here, you can take your VA cars back. >> I do apologize for like >> I mean I can smell your brakes. That's how aggressive you were driving. >> Like I said, the show didn't show you at this time. So open. >> Sure. Best show. Hey Evan, just so you know, so he's an off >> But the show, let me show you the show we're going to. I'm late. You can't make me late to the show, officer. >> The officer from Milwaukee, he's got a handgun on the center console. >> Yeah. No, I understand the show. I'm not I'm not concerned about the show. Just I mean, Dude, you drove into oncoming traffic. You crossed the yellow line. Like, you were speeding over 20 over. Like, there's a lot going on that kind of concern you. So, Evan, you mind just hanging out here with them really quick? And if you really >> I mean you're you're being cooperative everything but just obviously don't go in the center console for >> all right other than [clears throat] you said other than that pistols and other weapons. >> There's no other >> Are you carrying at all? >> No. >> Okay. Just so you're aware he's an offduty Milwaukee cop. He's got a handgun on the center console. >> Okay. >> I had him going I I didn't catch the actual speed limit, but he was so reckless he went he passed cars from the left turn. He went into a left turn lane. Passed cars that were stopped at a light. went into oncoming traffic, came back, and was probably I mean, I caught him I remember on radar him going at least 54, but he speeded up significantly from that. I'd have to review my video, but I mean it was definitely like reckless driving type of situation. So, he already got preferential treatment because if you or I had a firearm in the vehicle while the cop thought we were under the influence, uh, you know, violating all these traffic laws, there's no way that cop would have left us in that vehicle and would have definitely taken the gun until the stop was over. >> Situation that he was doing. Yeah, he's a cop out of Wisconsin. >> He said he hasn't had anything to drink. I kind of want to get out him out and talk to him. But >> is anybody else in the car with him? >> His girlfriend. >> Is he giving you any issues? >> No, he's being very cooperative and everything. He said they he was running late to a show, the show that's in West Chicago. >> Hey, Chris, you have to step out. I just want to talk to you oneonone. Correct. So, our policy actually. >> We'll just go on the side. >> Okay. Got you. No problem. >> Um, I just kind of want to talk to you oneonone real quick. Yeah. >> About the driving. I understand being late to a show. Just kind of walk me through why you're driving late. Like I said, you know, the show starts at 7:00. I mean, sorry, 7:00. The doors open. Show starts at 8. We're a little behind. So, I spent time trying to make it over there. I got to go to the bathroom really bad. My friend has to go to the bathroom really bad. So, I was really speeding. I realize it. I'll take it. I was being reckless. You know what I mean? Okay. >> So, I mean, I do apologize for it. I mean, honestly speaking, I'm not the type to starting any type of issues, you know. >> Where were you coming from tonight? We actually I worked third shift prior to this. I drove all the way from Wisconsin. So I'm like I've legitimately been over 24 hours awake. Um I drove all the way down here. I'm really really tired. Met her up. >> She your girlfriend or was this like a Tinder date type thing? >> No, not at all. We knew each other from college. We went to college back at uh Wilbur Ray College. >> Okay. >> Yeah. I was studying criminal justice at that point in time. So I haven't seen her in a long time. >> Where are you driving from Milwaukee? Is that where you're from? >> I drove all the way actually from uh Yeah. from Milwaukee. >> Okay. I'm from Rine, but I drove all the way from Milwaukee over to Miss. >> Okay. Did you pregame a little bit tonight? >> Did you pregame a little bit tonight? >> I'm going to say no. >> I mean, you said you're going to say no, but did you have a little bit to drink earlier? >> No, I'm going to say no. >> I'm going to say no means yes. >> Okay. All right. I'm just going to check your eyes real quick. Make sure you you're good. >> Nice stagmas, bro. You're okay. Gotcha. >> Just doing my due diligence cuz that driving to square away while you were driving like that, you know. So, um if you could just keep your feet together. You wear contacts or glasses on? >> I've actually just recently I could show you proof of it. >> Okay. But you can see fine right now. >> Right now it's a little bit furry. Like I I have a lot of um what's it called? The the halo of of glass of of light. >> Okay. Is your girlfriend anything? >> And I and I could l I'm I'm her I'm her GD. I'm her designated. >> Okay. Has she had anything to drink today? >> She has 100%. But and if you want me to I can show you. >> It's not necessary, man. Um so just keep your hands out your pockets and just have them down your side. Just follow the tip of my finger eyes and eyes. Yeah. >> No, if you could just don't move your head. Just keep it straight. >> Did you have any question? >> Are you focusing on my finger? >> I am. >> All right. Keep focused on my finger. >> How about Sorry, officer. I don't submit to field sobriety tests. I know what they're all about. I know they're subjective. I know they're designed to make people fail. So, no. I'm going to opt out. And yet you see cop after cop who's driving drunk always take these field sobriety tests. Well, a high percentage of the time. >> All right, man. Um, I'm gonna have you just picture a straight line about the width of your foot coming out in front of you. Let's just step right back. We'll step right here. Right behind you. We'll start right there. Okay. >> But I really have to urinate so bad. As I've previously stated to you before when we first made an interaction, I'm trying to get there. I really have to go to the bathroom. She really has to go to the bathroom. It's extremely difficult for me right now and I'm really not I'm not BSing you right now. >> Well, I understand that, but I can smell alcohol on your breath. So, you're already being deceptive by saying you haven't had anything to drink, right? That's why I kind of want to go through with these tests. If you're >> again, imagine my shock. A cop being deceptive. And if this body cam is right, it's if the time is right, it's 9:03. So, he's an hour and 3 minute past showtime. >> Good to drive, then you can go use the bathroom. Okay. You got a straight line out in front of you about the width of your foot. Just imagine that. All right. >> Left foot line. >> Yeah. Your left foot on the the line. And if you could keep your hands out of your pockets. Then put your right foot in front of your left foot touching heel to toe. I want you to maintain this position till I tell you to begin. All right. You got any questions? >> I mean, it's really difficult right now for me, sir, because like I told you, I really do have a full bladder. If I could use the bathroom, I really appreciate it. I know. I realize if I do that right now, it'll be in decent exposure, but I really have to use the bathroom. My bladder is extremely full. I mean, we could take him back, have him use the bathroom, do the test there, or just have them completed here. >> I mean, I I could, like I said, though, but like, you know, there's there's a lot of person right now, and I mean, I'm being honest. >> All right. Well, and we're just trying to make sure that you're good. >> So, we're just doing our due diligence. >> It's unbeliev Unbelievable. This cop took the field sobriety test. He's not going to do well on this. >> Make it through for five minutes. You know, be taken into consideration. Don't want to delay more than we have to, you know. >> I got you, boss. I appreciate you. >> All right. So, if you could get back in the starting position. So, okay. >> Left foot on the line. >> Left foot on the line. >> Right foot in front of left foot touching heel to toe. >> How you do this right here, which is >> that that's kind of a crack. I don't want It's uneven. So, I'm just going to have you do it right here. Right. >> Okay. >> So, I'll red demonstrate it for you. Okay. >> I I got you. It's It's nine steps, correct? Left foot on the line. Correct. >> Yeah. Series of small steps on your left foot. So, yeah. Left foot on the line >> and it's heel to toe. >> Yeah. Put your right foot in front of your left foot touching heel to toe. I want you to look down at your feet. All right. You don't have to do that with your hands. Just keep them down to your side. >> Oh, you said don't. >> Keep your hands down to your side. All right. I'll tell you when to begin. I'll I'll redmonstrate it. Okay. >> Can't even follow directions. >> Go ahead. Put your your I want you to picture a straight line about the width of your foot coming out in front of you. Put your left foot on that line. So, you can go ahead and begin. >> One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine. 11. Sorry, another one. It's kind of skipped, so I just went over it. >> Yeah. >> 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8. >> All right. So, the the next one we're going to do is just be the one leg stand. Okay. All right. >> It's going to be this right here. >> Yeah. I'm going to put my leg right here. >> Yeah. I'll have you demonstrate. Actually, I'll have you face this way just so the you're not kind of on the downward slope. All right. So, if you keep your >> I don't care if you're a cop or a civilian. These are just stupid human tricks. Anybody could fail these tests. >> Your feet together, your arms down at your side. Okay? So, your arms down at your side, out of your pockets. When I tell you to begin, you're going to raise either foot, your left, your right, 6 in off the ground, and you're going to count aloud. It'll look like this. All right? So, you can use your left or right. When I tell you begin, you'll raise one foot. So, 6 in off the ground, you count 1 th00and 1,002,003. You'll keep counting until I tell you to stop. When I tell you to stop, you'll put your foot down. Okay. If during the test you put your foot down, just pick it back up and continue. Go ahead and begin. >> 1001 10002. >> If you look down at the tip of your toe 100, 101,002 100,004 10,005 1006 1007 1008 1009 1012 Sorry, it's hard to balance. 1,300 >> On the other hand, it is good to see a cop being subjected to the same kind of stupid human tricks that he subjects others to. >> 14,5 I'm so sorry. It's hard to balance. >> Stop. You said you went to college, >> correct? >> So, you're obviously >> Yeah, it's hard to balance. Uh, no. No duh, officer. Yeah, it is hard to balance. It's hard for sober people to balance. And yet you're still going to subject people to that and based on your own subjective opinion, you're going to give them a DUI and possibly ruin their lives. >> With the English alphabet, >> correct? >> All right. So, I'm going to have you say the alphabet starting with the letter D as in dog. Any letter U as in unicorn? [screaming] So, D through you. So, just start at D, end on you. >> Okay. >> All you can go ahead and begin. >> Sorry, it's weird. Oh my god. Sorry. I know I went over you. I've never heard of that before. >> Oh, that's fine. Sorry about that. >> All right, cool. >> So, just a deep breath. Put your mouth around it and then just a steady blow out. Okay, I'll get I'll tell you one. All right. >> Okay. >> All right. Deep breath. All right. So, you got to actually put your mouth on it. >> By the way, pretty much anybody can do this test right here. And if you were going to do a more objective test, this is the one you want to do. Not the field sobriety test, but this cop is going to pretend like he can't do it. >> So, it's a deep breath. Put your mouth on it and then blow through the straw. >> All right. >> He knows how to do it. >> All right. You're not blowing. All right. >> Like you're blowing up a balloon and trying to pop it in one breath. >> All right. So, we'll try it again. Okay. So, a deep breath. >> He of all people knows how to do this. >> And then like a nice steady strong blow out through the straw. Okay. All right. Deep breath. >> We're trying to see how bad this is. >> Yeah. >> Versus what we have to go on. So, what we have to go on is not good, I can tell you. Okay, >> if you want to take this, that's an option. If you don't, then that's your option. So, do you want to give it a legitimate sample so that we can develop the whole situation and see where we're at tonight? >> Okay. Sergeant, can you talk to me? >> I just did. I told you. >> Can you talk to me? Is officer code for Hey, I'm a cop, dude. Cut me loose so me and my girl can go to the show. Officer de la Vega is being completely dishonest right here. And he's trying to leverage the power of his badge, an option that neither you nor I have. And he's getting the cop treatment that he always gives to other people. >> Is not good. Driving through my town silly with other things on board. It's not a good look. And in this day and age, it's not something that we can just ignore. Again, everything's on body. >> A cop gave the in this day and age line to another cop. >> So there's no secrets here. >> I got you. >> So give can I get some medical stuff out of my vehicle? This stuff has no bearing on this right now. >> Do you want to do you want to give it a shot? >> Give my officer the sample or not? I know what's going through your mind right now. We got to take care of this. All right. As you know, it's not illegal to drive tired, right? Can that have an effect on the test? So, we want to see how much the alcohol is having an effect on the test versus the alcohol and tired impairment cuz you know as well as I do. Okay, I get it. I'm not saying that you're a bad guy, but you know that me. >> Look how close Da Vega is to this Wheaten cop's face. They would never allow you to get this close to their face. >> And you brought this attention on yourself. >> Take a deep breath. All right. Go ahead and blow. >> All right. All right. That's the best uh breath you can give. >> What's up? What's that number right there? >> It's not over. It's not over. >> So you you didn't provide sufficient breath sample. >> Give me one more, please. >> Chris, >> I'm going. I'm going right now. >> I'm blowing up. >> Like you're blowing up a balloon and you're trying to pop in one breath. It's got to be one steady long out blow. All right. >> All right. Deep breath. >> All right. So, that's an insufficient breath. Okay. So, you had a little bit of a break. >> You get that. You you you hear me blowing, bro. Come on. Disruption, too. >> Come on now. You hear me blowing now? Come on. You hear me blowing hard as, bro. Come on. You want me to blow? Give me one more. >> So, I just gave you a chance. Okay. So, we're we're done with the breath sample. So, I'm just going to have to go up based on all my observations tonight. Okay. So, you're under arrest for DUI. Okay. >> Have another opportunity at the station to provide a breast temple that is under care. All right. >> Do you feel the coldness of the torture cuffs? De La Vega, do you feel that? This is what you do to others all the time. >> That stability there at the station now. Okay. Do you mind just holding on to his arm real quick while I put some gloves on? >> What do you have in the car? >> I have a um it's in my >> Do you want me to grab your cell phone from the truck? >> Could you please? And I really have to take this. >> Yeah, that'll be the first thing we do when we get back, right? >> Is this going to be a uh a [clears throat] um a seat bomb? >> Yeah, it'll most likely that's what it'll be. You're not going to be going to count. Okay. >> All right. So, I'll make it as fast as I can for you. Okay. I just have to do my due diligence. Right. >> Look at these motherers. >> Holy [ __ ] dude. Man, man. Oh, man. I did this for right now. I'm I'm told you like I'm very tired. >> Yeah, I got you. So, >> I mean, I've literally been up for past 24 hours. >> Yeah. So, just based on all my observations, that's okay. >> That's why. Okay. So, >> all right. So, I'll grab your your phone. Are there [snorts] other keys on the key ring you need? >> Um the whole thing, please. >> Okay. I I really need the prison. >> Okay. >> And where's it going to be to do? Cuz I'm in Wisconsin, like I said. >> Yeah. Once I get the lot. >> Bro, I really seriously can I can I just like I promise you I really need a piss. Really? >> Let me take care of this and then we're going to get out of here. Go take care of that. Okay. >> I really need a piss. >> I got you. If you can just hold it. All right. >> Okay. [snorts] >> All the excuses other civilians have given him during the course of his career and now he's making the same ones to other cops. >> [snorts] >> violating his rights by going through his stuff. Let's see. [snorts] Hey, you want me to finish this up and you can take him? He's really got to go. >> He's got a bunch of ammo in the center console. Yeah, there's more ammo. >> Grab that and take it with you then. >> Yeah, I'm not There's more stuff in the center console. Ammo and stuff >> in boxes or boxes. >> You want all that? >> Yeah. We can't leave it with the toe, right? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. He's pretty machine. >> According to records, Da Vega was suspended the day after this arrest and an internal investigation was conducted. He later plead guilty to reckless driving and the DUI charge of course was dismissed. He was sentenced to community service and alcohol counseling. Somehow he managed to stay off the Brady list and in February 2026 he resigned abruptly after a local news station began asking why the disclosure had been delayed that long. Cuz this happened back in 2023 and it just now got released. But as you can see, the officers did give this cop preferential treatment. If you and I were suspected of driving drunk and we had a firearm aboard with all this ammunition, they would have roughed us up and thrown the book at us. There would have been no accepted excuses.
