this happened back in 2015. i don't know if you remember this but i think i think i covered this or at least i mentioned it i don't know how great the coverage was or how thorough the coverage was but this teenager who is not black but is white was killed by this cop at this traffic stop why was the kid pulled over because the cop said that the kid bright lighted him and the kid contends the reason he bright lighted the cop is because the cop had his bright light bright lights on but anyway at the end of this traffic stop the teen is no longer alive let's put it that way but i wanted to show you something about this video i'm only going to show you some of it i'm not going to show you the graphic depictions of it because you know certain platforms will just kick this thing out and you know give give a strike or whatever but what i will do is when this video gets done rendering the video that you're watching with me in it right now i'll make sure that in the description of the pinned comment i'll leave the link to this video so you can see it in its entirety but listen to this driver's license registration proof insurance please pull you over because you crashed me i didn't even have my brights on watch this police body camera video seventeen-year-old devin gilford on his way to his girlfriend's house back in february sergeant jonathan frost pulling him over for flashing his high beams driver's license registration proof of insurance please i did not have them on driver's license registration proof of insurance please i don't even know you're an officer sergeant frost asked seven times for guilford's license and every time the teen refuses that is a good question how do i know you're an officer man this sounds retaliatory to me have you ever been driving down the road and somebody's got some crazy bright lights on it's like i try not to do it i try to just look away but sometimes it's like dude it's ridiculous that your lights are that bright there are people behind me that you're pr you know like a grandmother there there are people who wear glasses and you know a solar flare or one of one of those lens flares gets in your eye or whatever and it starts you know impairing your vision so you just tap your you just tap your brights just to remind them hey this is just a friendly reminder i'm not trying to be vindictive but i just want to remind you because i've driven down the road with my brights on and trish has said hey you get the blue lights on over there get your brights on it's like oh shoot i hate doing that or you know if she doesn't catch it the person on the other side of the road blinks and it's like oh man and you're grateful for that right you're grateful for somebody making you aware of something that you were previously unaware of so everybody does it so that's all the kid was doing is he saw somebody he didn't know it was a cop and even if he did he felt like the brights were on hey why don't you cut those back a little bit that's all he was being pulled over for questioning why he was stopped am i being detained yes you are for what crime you flashed me with your high beams you had your vibes on sir as the traffic stop continues guilford begins recording their interaction on his cell phone and continues to not cooperate get with the program follow the agenda comply with the command this is a lawful order comply or in this case not live so long the officer calls for backup two times as the situation escalates backup doesn't come you do not have your driver's license on your person correct yes i do where is it you don't have to see it do you realize that if you've complied with this traffic stop it would have gone a whole different way for you the officer sees guilford try to make a phone call and orders him out of the car out of the car or you're going to get tased everything's being recorded son i got no problem with that get out of the car why do you have to go to that level i mean they specialize in escalation gotta see your id if you don't obey if you don't comply with my authority i'm going to pull something i am going to hurt you boy gets him out of the car get down on the ground now down on the ground oh my gosh down on the ground right here facing me down on the ground now what do you mean get on your belly right now this is what america put your phone down and put your arms out to your side now sergeant frost kicks guilford's cell phone away are you all i don't have a weapon hey teach it you can't get your hands behind your back you're under arrest just about 90 seconds before backup arrives sergeant frost tases guilford but he's too close for it to work properly roughly 14 seconds later okay so i'm not gonna i'm not gonna even have the sound of the gunshots but he just unloads on this kid and of course the kid doesn't make it through it so what i wanted to direct your attention to was the lemming mentality of you've got to comply with the police officer now i understand that there are two clear issues here it's like choose your battles right wisely you know uh on the one hand choose your battles wisely pick what hill you're willing to die on is it really worth it you know some say yes and some say no i say your rights are worth it this kid should not have gotten killed lethal force should have never been in the picture you were talking about a skinny kid here who really was offering no throat wait did you see the police officer was offering no threat the only threat was oh you're you're damaging my ego because i told you to do something and you should have done it they could have a reasonable conversation again hey uh just i'm just pulling you over because you flash your lights any particular reason why that you flash the lights oh yeah it was pretty bright it seemed like you had your lights on your bright lights on and i flashed you to try to remind you to turn them off oh okay just checking just wanted to make sure everything was all right that could have been the end of it but people go on the other scale and that's why i want to read some of these they look at it from a different perspective than you and i would look at it and they say this guy right here says one night i was caught speeding i handed over all the docs i just complied like a good little american because that's what americans do they don't offer any kind of pushback they don't stand for their rights they just give they just make themselves insecure in their person's houses papers and effects i received the ticket i signed the paper and i was back on the road ah that's that's that's because that's what americans do in america this person says for those who would like to know one pulling one pulling you over for flashing your lights is a lawful traffic stop the cop pulling somebody over for that and i bet you 10 donuts to one he had his his brights on he knew it the kid knew it because usually you know when somebody's got their brights on you know it when somebody doesn't have their brights on you know it and if cop pulls you over for flashing your high beams just give him your driver's license just make yourself insecure in your person's house and papers in fact don't have a conversation with him don't don't tell him that you're not going to comply that damages their ego and put your life in jeopardy man and insurance they will run you come back and they will ask why uh you give your reason and then you'll be on your way just comply just do what everybody does these people are saying this is what happens uh from some of those know your rights video he was clearly parroting these videos very sad it kind of looked like he did he was but what's sad about that what's sad about people putting out a video so that you can sensitize yourself to the fact that you have something very precious that we all need to hold on to and stand fast in the kid should not have lost his life the cops should never use lethal for us it was ridiculous are you so scared that you're scared of a little kid and you're so unsure of your abilities that you can't use something other than lethal force you didn't even have to pull out your taser you can't restrain a kid you're kidding me what are you doing on the police force and not only that just let the kid drive away you already have his license number you already know who he is if he has insurance and uh where he lives just issue the citation in the mail be done with if you really wanted to give a citation that bad why'd you go to those those lengths there are always other options it's just like those columbus police officers why did you have to go there at two o'clock in the morning the ones that blew away that 20 year old kid in his bed with nothing in his hands as they were executing a warrant when they ended up executing him the parents should be outraged that their son thought his rights included resisting arrest and non-compliance with a traffic stop your rights resisting something that you think is completely ridiculous you can't do that without being threatened you know with lethal force on american soil so senseless i agree cooperate do what you're told take your citation and go over to the girlfriend's house way better ending the whole situation could have been avoided if you would have just complied with the officer he could have dealt with feelings like rights were violated later great example of what not to do during a traffic stop if it's a if it's a legit stop or not you need to comply and settle it in a kangaroo court that's always stacked against you and for the police officer the child was brought up without discipline his e his ego would not accept the pressure the police put on him when asked to comply what about the cops ego the cops ego was so damaged and he was so threatened by a kid he decided to end his life i mean these are actual comments under this action this video right here this is this is the state of our world today the problem is not so much that we have these uh power drunken psychopaths on the street wearing clown suits and tin badges on their chest with a utility belt thinking they could just shoot your dog and flashbang your baby in the crib and and kill teens on the roadside the problem is that we have a whole bunch of other people supporting this kind of action because the kid didn't comply what the heck although the kid didn't cooperate um and was a bit of a you know what that scream is still horrifying i stopped the video before we even did that and then and then to go further and i'm not going to show this part because it includes blood but again i will include this link in the description in the pinned comment as this segment progresses it shows the cop with another cop's body cam and he's just dripping blood almost like the cop banged his head on something sharp and made himself bleed but the cop had a ridiculous story he gets acquitted he's you know there's no man so there's no charge he doesn't get charged but then i i followed up on this and i was like wonder what happened with this story turns out that the parents ended up suing for a t and they settled for 2.4 million dollars says devin gilford's family reaches a 2.4 million dollar settlement in the son's death by eaton county sheriff's officer guilford family hopes settlement will force change at the sheriff's department it won't it doesn't it hasn't the family of an unarmed teenager shot and killed during a traffic stop that's just horrific man that is horrific more than two years ago i settled a federal lawsuit against the police officer who shot him for a 2.4 million dollars the settlement comes just after two months after the federal judge paul maloney declined to dismiss the lawsuit by devin gilford's parents against east county or eaton county sergeant jonathan frost allowing two claims of excessive force against frost to proceed devin's father said the decision to settle was quote emotional and difficult and he said the family acted on the advice of their attorneys but still struggle with finding closure of the death of their son i can imagine can you imagine hey where are you oh i'm going over to see jill or whatever his girlfriend's name is and then the next call you get is you need to come to the coroner's office and identify the body can't even imagine i can't even imagine it's like what are you talk what are you talking about how did he die oh local police what he said my son's not even a criminal what are you talking about what happened the life we had is no more i don't think it's something people can understand unless they've lost a child yeah and especially in that way the settlement is with frost and here's the thing i wanted to get into on this part the guilford family agreed to dismiss eaton county from the lawsuit in january though eaton county comptroller john fuentes said the county would continue to pay for frost's legal expenses so frost this this cop doesn't even have to feel any financial repercussions and consequences for his heinous let me just change that because that's probably you legally probably can't say that for this heinous act how's that because apparently the attorneys and the judges in the court system didn't view what jonathan frost did as a crime as well as any settlement or judgment that could be awarded the the case went to trial ending this matter will hopefully allow the family to mourn their loss privately and not continue to be faced with their pain publicly through a course of protracted legal battles frost is still employed with the sheriff's office so he gets to walk away and enjoy his life and the kid gets to be placed six feet underground the settlement requires that the lawsuit be dismissed with prejudice and that the guilford family sign a general release of liability preventing any further claims we know no settlement amount will bring back their son but like the guilford family john that's uh jonathan frost thanks and prays for the devin guilford every day real oh you do this cop prays for devin who he shot and killed every single day something not believable about that the settlement will at least help avoid a long protracted and painful legal battle for everyone involved so that's it the county the county is insured through the michigan municipal risk management authority a self-insurance pool of public agencies according to fuentes it is obligated to pay for the first 150 000 of the cost of defending the lawsuit through a system known as self-insurance retention coverage is capped at 15 million per incident he said so this uh sergeant jonathan frost who gets to keep his job and his life and everything goes back to normal for him didn't even have to pay one penny out of his pocket not for legal fees not for the 2.4 million dollar settlement not for anything where's the accountability where are the consequences where are they and then you just have the general public saying yeah well goodbye kid maybe you should have been a little bit more disciplined maybe you think twice well now you can't think twice because you're not around anymore maybe the next person will think twice about blinking their lights and trying to stand for who do you think you are standing for your rights yeah get rid of terry v ohio qualified immunity i was reading some of the mullen commission last night amazi it's i wonder if i still have it up on my phone you got it you got to hear the conclusion of the mullen commission you gots to see this the mall commission is formerly known as the city of new york commission to investigate allegations of police corruption oh it's more than allegations and the anti-corruption procedures of the police department former judge mil milton mullen was appointed in june 1992 by then new york city mayor david n dinkins to investigate corruption in the new york city police department mullen's mandate was to examine and investigate quote the nature and extent of corruption in the department evaluate the department's procedures for preventing and detecting that corruption and recommending changes and improvements to those procedures you want to know what the conclusion of the mullen report was look what he says man i'm gonna make it nice and big for all the people who like to lick boots out there and back the blue and what would we ever do without the police department this is what mullen came up with and these are his words today's corruption is not the corruption of nap commission days we might go over that some days in the near future too corruption then during the nap commission days was largely a corruption of accommodation of criminals and police officers giving and taking bribes buying and selling protection corruption was in its essence consensual today's corruption is characterized by brutality theft abuse of authority and active police criminality in other words they're going out there knowing this is the general overall overview of the conclusion of the mullen commission they're they're going out there knowing they're not serving and protecting they're going out there in this new york city case an example knowing that they're out there harassing and collecting not serving and protecting that's crazy to me that is crazy to me today's corruption is characterized by brutality yep see that theft oh yeah abusive authority and active police criminality with a healthy measure of damaged egos to boot so i may do just a standalone eight to ten minute video on the mullen commission which is very very interesting just to show people because the mullen commission you know it's far it's far uh longer it's far more voluminous not not voluminous in the sense that it's thick like the you know the irs tax code or anything it's not like war and peace or anything but it's definitely more than what wikipedia shows you right here but that's the general gist of the final conclusion the mullen commission and it kind of leads you to understand why stuff like this happens on such a routine basis because they are already criminally minded they're already wired to be power hungry psychopaths who want to put you under their heel i don't see how it's possible for there to be such thing as a good cop because if you're a good cop you are going to be a whistleblower showing how much corruption every single day is happening in your department and your department will not tolerate that that's the only way you can be a good cop blowing the whistle and then you'll either quit or you'll be fired so anyway leave your thoughts about this for the world in the global thought police in the comment section below if you haven't done so already subscribe to the channel hit the bell notification icon give it a thumbs up share with everybody you know and don't forget i have some new designs in the store one of them is the logo the
