Okay, hold on to your hats because this one is wild. Not because what the cop does is surprising because scummy cops do scummy evil things all the time, but wild in terms of the concentrated amount of on camera perversion, derangement, hypocrisy, disregard for the public, and outright overt dishonesty. Yeah, this guy lies a lot. Not only on reports, but also during his internal affairs investigation where the internal affairs investigator has already called him out for lying. Basically, 28-year-old Paul Blart over here, yeah, he's 28, was driving down the road in his patrol cruiser on a rainy day watching corn on his phone. That's when he crashes into this nice lady who stopped at a school bus stop. We're going to watch this video and make some comments along the way. And there's no sound in the first couple seconds of this video, but this entire time on these rainy streets going around corners, this guy's on his phone looking at corn and doing god knows what else while he's not seat belted into the seat of his patrol cruiser. That's when he runs into this lady who looks like she's obeying all the traffic laws. Attention. 911 assist is turned off. 911 assist 980. Counting 65 signal 49. >> You can use Cresten and County Road 435. I'm going to be involved. There's going to be signal 16. Son of a [ __ ] 10 four. >> Oh no, not this time. >> Gosh, darn it. >> Notice the seat belt right there. not using it. Doesn't plan on using it, but he'll have no problem giving tickets to other people who aren't wearing theirs. Yeah, that [ __ ] sucked. Yeah, I'm good. You know, this might be a blessing in disguise because had that woman not been stopped right there and he continued to barrel through, he could easily run over a kid. Hello, ma'am. Are you okay? I'm so sorry. >> It's okay. >> My bra's locked up. >> Okay. >> You good? >> My brakes locked up. Yeah, that that's that's the reason for the crash. Ma'am, >> was like, "Oh my goodness." >> His lies have only just begun. >> Yeah, I'm okay. >> Okay. Okay. Do you just want to pull right more? Okay. >> Uh just to make sure you're out of the turn lane. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Just make sure you're out of the turn lane. Oh, I don't know what that's doing. out of the way. That's what that was. Go ahead, >> Lake. >> Stand by 28. It's going to be a bluish Toyota Corolla. >> Hello. >> Hey. >> What do you need from me? So we're so we'll need registration >> background. >> It'll be a passenger car. >> No, I don't. Okay, >> that's the registration. >> Okay. And then you'll need Do you have insurance for it? >> I do. I have all Hold on. >> Dinner. >> Hey, >> are you all good? Do you need EMS? >> I'm sorry. What? >> Do you need EMS? >> No, no, no. I am fine. I am fine. Yeah. I was just like startled, like shook up, but I'm okay. I'm perfectly okay. I'm not hurt at I've got uh >> and it's drivable, so I'm okay that way, too. >> Yeah, yours a little bit better than mine. >> Yours is a little better than mine. I'm not going to lie. >> So, yeah. So, okay, I'm good to go. >> No, no, no, no, no. >> Oh, okay. I have to wait. >> Yeah. >> Okay, let me make some calls then. That's fine. I That's what I was wondering. >> I can't work the traffic crash. I've got my corporal in another unit on the way just to help us out. >> And most likely it'll be FHP, but as soon as I know, I'll let you know. Okay, >> that's fine. Okay. All right. Let me call. Okay. >> Okay. >> All righty. >> Okay. >> So, we're going to be waiting for a little bit longer. We're still waiting on the FHB, Florida Highway Patrol. >> Being that uh it was officer involved me, uh they're going to be working the crash. Okay. >> So, we're just waiting on them to get here. Once they get here, then they'll start working through the whole thing. >> All right. >> Like, give you an estimate. >> No, ma'am. They did not. >> I'm supposed to pick up the kids from school. It's okay. Um I have to be here, right? Like I can't. Yes, ma'am. >> Okay. I'm sorry. >> Just completely inconveniencing everybody no matter where they go. Again, he could have with his distracted driving, the perversion he was involved in. He can't wait to get home to do that garbage. This guy is seriously addicted to corn if he's going to be looking at it in his patrol vehicle in broad daylight on a rainy wet street while the body cam is rolling. This guy's got a serious, serious problem. But we ain't seen nothing yet. >> Okay. >> What school? >> Uh Mount Christian. >> Okay. >> So it's okay. Their Nana's going to pick them up and then I'll go to her house and and get >> Okay. >> Okay. >> All righty. Thank you so much. Sorry. >> Yeah. I don't know what the hell reinforced bar is in that bumper to the footage. >> That's what I'm seeing. I don't feel my camera fingers while I'm doing that right now. Now, we begin the internal investigation part of this. And this is where this cop's story really starts coming to light. And the fact that he has lied so much, not only to the lady, not only to the other cops on the scene, but also in his report, and he's going to continue lying to this internal affairs investigator. So, you're aware the camera's on the court. Yes, sir. Now watch [clears throat] what you say cuz the cameras are on. >> So little housekeeping first or actually this one. You'll uh kind of read it as I read it to you and then as we get to a question you'll mark yes or no and then put your initials beside. Okay. Now, it's important to go through this part because I want you to hear that you know how when they read you your rights, everything you say, everything, anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. Listen to what this internal affairs investigator says to Paul Blart. >> It is November 20th, 2024, approximately 0741 hours. I'm Sergeant Gary Abbott with Lake County Sheriff's Office internal affairs unit. Present at this time is Deputy Tristan McComer who is listed subject officer of this administrative investigation. >> Tristan McComer. In case that wasn't clear, >> we are currently conducting this interview at the Office of Professional Standards in reference to IIA case number 242 or 2455. The Colleen alleges that you made false statements to your supervisor concerning a vehicle accident. The complaint further alleges that you were not wearing your seat belt during the incident. You were also allegedly looking at images on your cell phone during the incident or accident. During this questioning, even if you do disclose anything which indicates you may be guilty of criminal conduct, neither the self-inccriminating statements nor the fruits of any self-inccriminating statements will be used against you in any criminal legal proceedings except for perjury or obstruction of justice charges. Let this sink in. Cops are treated differently than the rest of us. Badges and uniforms, in their estimation, grant special rights, and they capitalize on these special rights. During this questioning, even if you do disclose anything which indicates you may be guilty of criminal conduct, neither the self-inccriminating statements nor the fruits of any self-inccriminating statements will be used against you. As a cop, you could say anything up to and including things that are going to incriminate you. But if you or I say anything, and I mean anything will be used against you. That's the double standard and the thin blue line division between us and them. >> If you refuse to answer my questions, this is itself is a violation of the rules and procedures of the office and you will be subject to disciplinary action which may include dismissal. All states ma statements made by you will be considered an official report. So the first question we got, are you currently on duty? >> Yes. >> So Mark, just write yes and then put your initials beside it. To your knowledge, have you been given all documentations in regard to the complaint to include the complaint, all witness statements, all other existing subject officer statements, all other existing evidence, including but not limited to incident reports, GPS locator information, and audio or video recording related to the incident under investigation? Yes. You raise your right hand. You solemnly swear the testimony you're about to provide trip. >> Yes, sir. >> All right. Yes. from there. And then >> he's going to lie through his teeth and he's not going to stop lying. >> Short for me. And then that next line, you'll print your name in. You'll read that statement out loud and sign a date for me. So it says it states as such I Tristan Mayumber by my signature below affirm that I have been advised of the administrative notification and do solemnly swear that the testimony I'm about to provide is true. And then I sign right here. >> Yes. Right. It's the 20th. And there's a copy of just what you signed so you have it for records. All right, man. You had a chance to review everything that was in the folder. Yes, sir. >> Okay. I'll open the floor up to you and let you make any kind of statements you want and then based on that, we'll go into kind of any questions I have. >> Okay. Um, so on the 6th, uh, I was involved in a vehicle accident on 435 435 in Crestston. Um, prior to that accident, um, I did get off the phone with Deputy Hoffman. We were planning I needed to urinate. Kind of weird. Um, and we were planning on a place to meet up. He had a trainy. We were going to go over some stuff and then go on our next plan. Um, after I got off the phone with Hoffman, I did have my personal phone in my hand. I was looking at inappropriate pictures. Um, the reason for that is I've here goes the coplaining. The reason I was looking at corn on my phone on duty in a patrol vehicle on a ra rainy street and ran into a woman who stopped at a bus stop is because why? >> I mean there's no excuse. It was my fault. I'm not trying to put any excuses. My therapist a long time ago said there's no excuse for anything. There's only consequences with whatever choice you make, good, neutral, or negative. Absolutely. >> My therapists were hiring cops who need therapists now. So, >> agree. >> Uh, with that, I was looking at inappropriate pictures. Um, 2024 has been probably the yest roughest year to date, uh, in my 28 years of existence in this earth. Okay. >> Um, so >> does this guy not look like he's at least 40 years old? And now he's going to give a lame excuse of why he was looking at pornographic material while he was driving in a taxpayer funded patrol vehicle because it's this has been the roughest year of all my 28 years on this earth. Oh my god, I'm just a victim. [clears throat] Since then, I've been dealing with a lot not only both in the work life um of you know doing this job. I love doing this job and, you know, look forward to doing it every day, you know, um to the best that I can. Not Not everyone's happy necessarily where they're at. >> Right. Right. >> But that's understandable. It's work. >> How long have you been with us? >> I started April 5th of 2021. >> Yes. 2021. So, I moved here in 2020. >> Over three years. >> Yeah. This is my four April April 5th of next year will be my fourth year. And you had you prior law enforcement or is this your first? >> Um, no. I did section 8 security for government contracted housing for uh Dallas Fort Worth. >> Um, I did that for quite some time, putting in, you know, anywhere from 50 to 70 plus hour work weeks. >> Um, so that that was that was fun. I got to work with a lot of law enforcement and see how they work and and whatnot. And then both of me and my buddy are kind of gun gurus and tactical gurus. So we tried to take the job a lot a lot more serious than some of the other guys which made us the team to go to. When anything that the boss needed to get done, he called us. >> Gotcha. Um, so from there, um, when I was I'll get back to the incident that occurred. when I was looking at in inappropriate pictures. Um, I then looked up from my phone, observed the the blue Toyota uh passenger car in front of me and the the bus that was in the opposite uh lane coming at me, but it had activated the emergency lights for the dropping of kids. Um, at that time I did apply the brakes the best I could. The roads were wet. It was raining that day. Um, and there was lights on the uh the dash um of the not check engine, it was the ABS and uh traction control. So, when I did stop, even though there was going to be no time for me to stop, uh they they did lock up, which uh didn't allow my my tires to actually turn. We just went over that CAT school yesterday. Uh it was under steer just when when the tires turn and you just keep going straight. >> Um and so I impacted the rear of the the Toyota. >> Okay. [clears throat] >> So you you've been honest right now. Okay. So but you know the actual allegation against you or policy violation is departure from the truth. So, I'm going to go through each thing um and basically get what your mindset was when you put down either what you wrote or what you uh told Sergeant uh Walls. It's okay. >> Imagine that. A cop departing from the truth. I love how they take the sharp edge of that. You lied. No. Well, he departed from the truth. So it so when you wrote your original report, when you talked about this ABS stuff to begin with, was that something that you actually believed was a factor at that time or was that some kind of a deflection? >> Uh, more of a deflection. Sorry. >> Okay. Let me ask you this cuz I know it was quite a ways from the range where you did your calibration to where the accident occurred. >> Yeah. And and some time. >> And some time. and the roads were wet. You knew it was kind of rainy. Did you do any kind of brake checking to see if the system was malfunctioning or not malfunctioning? >> No, sir. Um, just based upon that it's done it on all the previous cars I've had, both Explorer model, the Silverado. >> He's still lying. when I was in the Silverado for a very brief short of time. Um, and and >> none of the cars I've ever been in had a properly working automatic braking system. >> My old Taurus, the first one I had. >> So, this has happened to you before where the ABS light comes on after that calibration and it's never been an issue for you before that you had to worry about it kind of reset itself or the lights go off. >> Yeah, the lights lights went off and that's what I was expecting them to do. However, this time it they just never went off. And so I was >> going to get that looked at, but I was going to, you know, wait till the end of shift cuz I don't want to, you know, tie up. >> But that wasn't a huge major concern based on your experience in the past to the point where you wanted to break check and make sure that you were going to stop and Okay. >> All right. And so then when you write in here um in the actual report that you were in the way it reads uh driving in the area of uh county 435 and Crestston Avenue. I was contacting DS Hoffman via my agency issued cell phone and upon ending the phone conversation I observed a light blue Toyota passenger bearing d stopped in front of me and the reason why I was a school bus. I applied my brakes. So, the way that conversation reads is that you were on the phone with Hoffman. >> All right, man. All right. Bam. So, that was uh a departure from the truth with that cuz you knew you were watching inappropriate stuff at the time. >> Uh yeah, it's a lie. I was watching corn, not talking to my supervisor. >> Okay. So, you admit that that and I don't I don't like the word lie, but because the the statute or the the policy is departure from the truth, but we know departure from the truth means lie. So at that point when you wrote that report, you were not truthful and you basically told a lie. >> They cops always do that too. They try to frame themselves in the best possible light. Even if it's the worst possible thing, they'll come up with the euphemism that makes it sound well just not quite as bad as it actually is. >> Or you admitted information that you knew was probably the cause or reason for the accident. >> I called mine biomish. >> You know that one too well. All right. So then let's go into when you meet up with Sergeant Walls and then you tell him, "Yeah, I ended the phone call and then I was scrolling through some text messages with group chat in sector 3 guys, so that would have also been a lie." >> Yes, sir. Okay. All right. And then uh you said you were looking at inappropriate material on your personal phone. Mhm. [clears throat] >> So, I know we're adults and I have an idea of what you're saying, but can you be a little bit more descriptive or forthcoming? >> Uh, it was like pornographic material, pictures of boobs and whatnot. >> Okay. So, no videos. It was just pictures. Um, there was videos on the site, however, I hadn't clicked on any that I can at least remember. >> Okay. He's just he can't stop lying. He's a pathological liar. >> So, but if I pull up and show you what I saw, you could tell me if that was a picture you were looking at or possibly a video. >> Yes. >> Okay. I'll get back to that. And then if we need to on the video, you were not wearing your seat belt. It was >> That is correct. >> strapped in behind you. >> Is that kind of normal operating procedure? >> Um >> I know probably since the accident. Probably not. before the accident. >> Since the accident, not um before the accident. Yes. Uh I just believe from a tactical stance. Um even though I I know we drive and do dangerous speeds, >> uh whenever I get on scene, I don't you know, we have this stuff and I don't like fighting the seat belt and whatnot for >> So, can we use that excuse when they pull us over? Hey, just for tactical reasons, if I ever get pulled over, I want to make sure that if you give me the command, according to Pennsylvania versus Mims, to get out of my car, I can just hop out immediately, officer. So, that's why I'm not wearing my seat belt. You're not going to give me a ticket, right? >> Seat belt and whatnot on the road for 16 years. I understand what you know, it's a policy, right? >> It's also state statute. We're not exempt from wearing our seat belt. Okay. >> I see it's a laughing matter to them. They don't care. It's not about safety. It's not about traffic safety. It's not about public safety. It's about control. These people want to control you. Rules for thee and not for me from the perspective of a police officer. >> The vehicle is the worst coffin I could ever be in. I understand what you're telling me. Um I think that was the other. So there was no group chat. You you lied with Billy Walls when you said that. You admitted that. >> Yeah, that one was report. Um, I was ashameful at the time when I talked with Billy after, you know, during the conversation with Billy. Obviously, I knew the the truth. Um, me and Billy have never got along and I'll just leave it that that and >> okay, >> whatnot. So I know working underneath him uh for a short brief period of time uh incidents that happened in whatnot just daily life stuff um and I just I know I don't really in my opinion and this is only my opinion mine alone uh I don't really care for him as he can be very judgmental and hypocritical in in certain things >> um So whenever we met up and talked about the situation, I was just very ashamed um on on being judged and whatnot with with everything going on um and whatot. >> So in other words, because I didn't like Billy, I decided n better not tell him the truth about what actually happened and what I was doing while I was driving that taxpayer funded patrol vehicle. And I appreciate you being honest, man. That's the only thing I worry about people coming in here. And >> you could see by his mannerisms after this guy said, "I appreciate you being honest." Watch Tristan get all fidgety. I >> understand, man. >> Watch this. >> And I appreciate you being honest, man. >> That's the only thing I worry about people coming in here. And >> no, I uh experienced that and watched one of my really, really good friends do this. So, it almost lost another. So, I get it. I don't I don't. >> So, this is kind of the image we got when we kind of slow down as your phone is coming down >> and you can see it looks like some kind of she's been over. >> Yeah. So, those are those are just images. >> Just images. Yeah, >> but it was adult cont where nudity was involved and that kind of stuff. And again, you were looking at that on your personal phone. >> That is correct. >> All right, man. Um, I don't think I have any other questions. Is there anything else you would like to add to the record? >> Um, no. Just I guess more questions about the process after this. >> Okay. Well, give me just a minute. I'm going to step out for a minute. Uh, and I'll be back with you. Okay. >> Yes, sir. All right, man. Sorry about that. >> All right, man. Is there anything else you want to add to the record before we're done? >> Pretty much good as far as this. Raise your right hand. Everything you told me is a true. >> Yes, sir. >> You're good to go, bud. Go back to Nate. And then as far as the way the procedure goes, I'll give the information to admin as far as what we talked about. Um, and it'll be up to them to decide what they're going to do. >> Okay. So, I'll do my report and get that done, present everything to them, and then they'll make a decision as far as discipline. >> Okay. Simple. And then after discipline is when IA is concluded and can be discussed more time. >> Yeah. Yeah. As soon as you get a final discipline. >> Okay. >> Uh it still goes in front of the sheriff to sign to make sure 100% that he agrees with everything. Once the sheriff signs it, it becomes public information. >> Okay. So, at that time, you can request the file, your wife, anybody can look at anything at that point. >> Okay. >> But it's not until he's done signing it. >> Okay. >> Which [sighs] could be a week, it could be two week, could be two months. >> Oh, wow. >> You know, I I can't nail it down to his schedule. I can't say, "Sheriff, you need to come to work so I can get you to sign this for me." You know what I mean? >> No, I definitely understand it. Well, >> thank you, sir. >> I appreciate you being honest, brother. Yes, sir. >> What a joke. The internal investigation determined that the officer had been distracted by pornographic material on his personal phone immediately before the crash. Investigators also found that he had not been wearing his seat belt and had been dishonest about what caused the accident. The officer ultimately resigned from the Lake County Sheriff's Office while facing termination. So they were going to terminate him, but they gave him enough rope to exercise the option to walk out the back door before the termination stuck. Which means in a lot of cases they seal his file so that he can go work in law enforcement in other departments. Maybe the next county over, the next city over, maybe the next state over. But the bottom line is he gets away with this. And the resignation is the I get to do whatever I want to and keep my pension card. Gosh, he just looks like a good guy, doesn't he? But he's not. Turns out he's just another perverted pathological liar wearing a costume and a badge. Leave your thoughts in the comments section below. I want to hear what you have to say.
