Are you an animal lover and a cop lover? Well, then this video is not for you cuz watching it may send you into a tailspin. >> NO! NO! HE JUST SHOT MY DOG! >> YOU SHOULD HAVE HAD HIM ON A LEASH. I'M NOT GOING TO get bit by no dog and killed by no dog out here. >> That's my [ __ ] son, [ __ ] You want to [ __ ] taze me? >> You better get away from me. >> On Sunday, July 19th, 2026, 34-year-old Thomas Schmidt was reportedly involved in a disturbance at Hill Station Restaurant on Kavanaugh Boulevard in Little Rock, Arkansas. Reports described him as a drunk, aggressive customer. He left, went home, and called 911 himself seeking to clear his name or report a related issue. Around 4:43 p.m., there was also a battery in progress call to his home address. Officer Brandon Foster Todd responded to the battery call at Schmidt's home. Schmidt came out with the gate open accompanied by his 1-year-old black Labrador Retriever named Ammo. Reports say that Ammo was a service dog in training. Schmidt repeatedly said the dog was fine when Officer Todd approached the home. The dog wagged its tail, barked, and then ran through the open gate toward the officer while barking. Body cam footage released by the Little Rock, Arkansas Police Department around July 22nd shows Officer Todd backing up roughly 10 steps into the street ordering Schmidt to control his dog and then firing a single shot that struck Ammo in the head killing him instantly. Officer Foster Todd immediately radioed that he had shot a dog and requested a supervisor. He later stated that he feared being bitten and that the dog was charging aggressively. Let's watch the video together and we'll make some comments along the way. >> He's fine. He's fine. >> GET YOUR [ __ ] DOG. NO! NO! >> NOW, AT THIS POINT, THE OBVIOUS question rises to the top. Why use lethal force when you have less lethal options? You got a taser, you got bear spray. You spray that dog in the face, he is running away ASAP. You tase that thing, he's going to seize up and he's going to stop doing what he's doing. He's going to stop being aggressive. Why pull a handgun and end the dog's life when you DIDN'T HAVE TO? >> NO! NO! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? >> I just saw the supervisor. I just shot a dog. I had >> No! >> 10-4. Why didn't you get your dog? YOU JUST SAID HE'S FINE. HE'S CHARGING AT ME. >> DUDE, NO! WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? DUDE, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? NO! NO! WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? Why would YOU DO THAT? WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? WHY would you do that, DUDE? >> WHY DIDN'T YOU GET YOUR DOG on the on the leash? >> HE DIDN'T EVEN NO, WHY DID YOU SHOOT A GUN? What are you What ARE YOU DOING, DUDE? WHAT are you doing? WHAT ARE YOU DOING? LIKE LOOK, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? >> MAN, it is insane to me not to reach for less lethal first when you know you can, when you know you've had the training to do that, but you don't. >> What are you doing? DUDE, [crying] WHAT ARE YOU DOING? WHAT THE [ __ ] >> Hey dad, I'm on the phone with dad. >> Margo, Margo, a [ __ ] policeman just shot animal in the head. He's dead on the ground. Dude, what are you doing, DUDE? WHAT THE [ __ ] ARE YOU DOING? HEY YOU BETTER YOU JUST KILLED MY DOG. >> YOU BETTER BACK AWAY FROM ME. >> WHAT? >> And now he pulls a taser on the dog's owner with the owner's dog laying in the street bleeding out. What What is the reason you called? >> Are you serious? >> What is the reason you called us? >> YOU JUST KILLED MY [ __ ] DOG. >> OKAY. >> HEY. >> YOU SHOULD HAVE HAD your dog on a leash. >> No. >> Are you drunk again? >> No. This [ __ ] >> Why are you acting like this? Are you Like what's going on? >> No. No. That's [ __ ] Send me the sergeant. I want that I want the sergeant. He shot him in the head down here. He said HE JUST KILLED ANIMAL IN THE STREET. >> HEY. HEY. >> They just killed animal in the street. >> What What's the reason we came out here? What did you What did you call the police for? >> Are you [ __ ] kidding me, you dumbass? Are you [ __ ] serious? I'm calling Frank Scott right now. >> Okay. >> No. >> What's going on? >> No. That's [ __ ] HE JUST SHOT MY DOG. >> YOU SHOULD HAVE HAD HIM ON A LEASH. >> LOOK. WHY DID you >> I'm not going to get bit by no dog and killed by no dog out here. >> Animal control >> Are you [ __ ] kidding me? Are you [ __ ] kidding me? I'll beat your [ __ ] ass. >> Hey, you threaten me, you going to jail. Hey, [bell] grab him. >> YOU'RE ON CAMERA. YOU'RE ON CAMERA. >> WHY DID YOU CALL US? >> I called you because I called you because >> This is why, guys, this is why you never want to call the police. If you care about your family, if you care about your pets, if you care about yourself, you don't want to call the police. When they show up, your life hangs in the balance. There's no telling what they could do to you. Well, there is telling what they could do to you, and it can snap real quick. They could be super friendly one moment, and everything goes south the next moment. Before you know it, you're tased, you're pepper sprayed, you're shot, you could be dead, your family members, your pets could be dead. In a sense, when you call the cops, you are bringing trouble on yourself. If you think you have problems now, well, now you got two problems cuz the cops just showed up. >> Are you [ __ ] kidding me? You want to You want to piss it out? You shot my dog in the head, you dumb ass. You dumb ass [ __ ] Dumb ass [ __ ] YOU SHOT MY [ __ ] DOG. I I CAN SAY WHAT I WANT TO SAY. I'm calling Frank Scott right now. Did you just shot my dog in the head? >> Look, I'm going to I'm going to restart Yeah, I'm going to restart my body camera. Just stay right here for a second. >> Are you [ __ ] serious? God damn, dude. Are you [ __ ] serious? You [ __ ] did that? You piece of [ __ ] >> walk towards me. >> Dude, this dude just shot animal in the head. The police >> He didn't tell you what happened. No, before I even got to make contact with him the dog charged at me. >> [ __ ] you, piece of [ __ ] Well, you want to taze me? That's my [ __ ] son, [ __ ] You want to [ __ ] taze me? >> get away from me. >> I better get away from me? YOU JUST SHOT MY [ __ ] SON. >> OKAY, BACK AWAY. >> YOU JUST SHOT MY [ __ ] SON. >> BACK AWAY FROM ME. >> YOU JUST SHOT MY [ __ ] SON. >> GET GET in your yard. >> NO, [ __ ] NO, HE JUST SHOT MY DOG. HE JUST SHOT MY DOG. HE SHOT ANIMAL in the head. He's He's dead. He's laying in the street. [ __ ] you, you [ __ ] dumb ass. You stupid [ __ ] That's my kid. All the neighbors are around and they're like, "Hey, we're calling them. We're calling them." [ __ ] you. [ __ ] you, [ __ ] [ __ ] you. You You shot my kid. I'll beat your [ __ ] ass. >> All right, now you're going to Now you're going to handcuff. >> What? You're >> Okay, now let me just say this. When you're in the presence of the cop or any cop, make sure that you shut the freak up. The more you say, the more they're going to use against you. And you start issuing threats, you know what's going to happen. So, I understand this guy being distraught about what this cop did to his dog. Totally understandable. But now he's gone a little over the edge, starting to threaten cops. And how do you think cops are going to take that? Of course, they're going to arrest him. >> You're You're You're going to put You're going to put me in jail? You're going to You're going to put me in jail? You're going to You're going to put me in jail? You're going to taze me? >> This is the unfortunate reality that we live in right now. They can shoot your dog and walk away scot-free, but you can't threaten to beat them up. You won't walk away. >> Hey, Jim, wait. This is [ __ ] Jim, please. Hey, Jim. Please. This is [ __ ] Shot my dog. >> Get in the car. >> Can I Can I just please just chill for a second? I just I need to chill for a second, okay? I mean, you just >> The cop can't understand. He can't tap into a little that humanity that he might have left way back in the recesses of his heart and just kind of put himself in this guy's position and go, "You know what? I understand why you're saying that. I got a dog, too." Or maybe he doesn't have a dog, but does he have somebody in his life that he loves or if somebody shot him, he would be distraught and he would be distressed and he would be saying things that he wouldn't normally say? Yeah, probably, but this cop do they even have the capacity to sympathize? >> Kill my kid. >> Get in the car. >> Chill in the back for a second. >> Help me. >> You ain't called nobody. >> Yeah, sergeant. >> Should be. I ain't calling nobody. I called one on the radio. You got his information already? >> I know his name Thomas. >> Thomas, what's your last name? I forgot. What's your last name? >> I forgot. Well, I'm not going to I'm going to release you right now. No, I'm not threatening you. >> You said you >> He's threatening to beat his ass. >> But you still can't threaten to beat the beat the [ __ ] out of somebody's ass. I understand that, but you still can't threaten to beat his ass. >> Yeah, that's why I let you slide the first time you said it. >> I didn't shoot him. >> You said it twice. >> Are you his father? >> What? >> Are you his father? >> Yes. >> Okay, so I came over here for disturbance or something. I tried to make contact with him. And the dog was already barking. He said it's good or whatever. And he's clearly drunk. And then the dog came at me and tried to charge me, so I had to handle it accordingly. >> 70 Hey, we have >> The dog? I can call the animal animal control. Hey, you mind staying with him? Somebody needs to stay with that that dude in my car. I'll stay with him. I'm good. Yeah, I'm good. I came over here for a disturbance and then Yeah, the dog just ran out of house on me and then he told me my it's good or whatever and he's still coming at me barking about to bite me. So, I went ahead and handled him. Then he threatened to tell me about he going to kick my ass and stuff, so I went ahead and put him in handcuffs. >> I ain't putting him in the car. >> Yeah. And he's drunk. He's got slurred speech, blows, shots, all that stuff. He looking smell like intoxicated. I already restarted and stopped my body camera. But I came here for a disturbance. And then um I made contact with him. I see him at the door whatever. And he and he's drunk and intoxicated. His dog is barking already aggressively. He tell me about some uh no the dog is good or whatever. And I'm and mind you I'm standing like close to right there. So I had to back step. I I back step all the way to the road and the dog was still charging at me barking and stuff. So I just went ahead and handled it. Yeah. Like I was I was I started right here. I was in front of the doorway. I back tracked all the way to the street. And I'm not going to trip over and get mauled by a dog. That's what I told him. I told him oh wait dude. He opened the police car. I told him to stay with him. I don't know why he keep walking away from the car. It should be like right here. Only only shot one round. No but I was standing like right here. No not not yet. I the owner? I mean he's in my back of my car. Yeah. Cuz he threatened to kick my ass. I called for he started animal control. Oh here it is right here. Yeah yes sir just one shot. >> He's getting a picture of the shell casing there. >> And I was standing right by the door and I had to backtrack all the way. I wasn't trying to. >> Yeah, we'll just store the shell casing. Um >> No cop will ask, "Now, why couldn't you use less lethal? Why didn't you grab your taser or the bear spray first?" >> I unfortunately I don't think animal control They should come get the dog. I don't know if they'll come get the deceased one. Will they take it? >> Every cop that arrives on the scene, no cop shows remorse for this 1-year-old Labrador puppy laying on the ground. >> Who's the owner? >> He's in the back of my car. If you want to talk to him he's But y'all have to write this cuz the policy says >> Yeah, you'll have to write the report on the shooting the dog. >> But he's got threats so I'll just make a new incident number. >> All right. So we What's the incident >> Can you even imagine what would happen if you defended yourself against a police canine? >> I just detained him cuz he kept throwing the kicking my He's drunk. And he's he's been like I The older it talks against lower speech, lower shot eyes. I'm trying to figure out what was going on cuz I he called and I guess a a a store down the street called about an incident and he's he's scuffed up or whatever. So I don't know if they It was a fight that broke out or what. But when I came out he was inside the house and he came out there and uh before I even make contact. He said the dog was good and I said, "All right." And it kept barking and smelling at me and then it charged at me and I and I backed all the way to the street. That's why >> Were you by yourself? >> Yeah, I was by myself at this time. >> You want to charge the owner with anything? >> I mean, not really but >> It's up to you. Are you charging? >> Guys, I need to know what >> It's up to you? Wait a second. If there's a chargeable offense, then you would charge him, right? It shouldn't be up to certain people. It just be understood, yeah, he did wrong, he crossed the line, he left a victim, he should be arrested. What's what's up with all this subjectivity stuff? No, that's up to you. If you decide to take him, we're going to back you. If you decide not to take him, we'll back you. What's up with that? >> Hey, he said he might not be angry with you. Can you try to figure out what was going on? Like what was the reason he called? >> Yeah, that's I'm examining the dog to get the >> Oh, never mind the negative angle of the dog. >> So, what's uh Is that your car he's in the back of? >> Yes. >> I got it. We're charging this guy, I guess, to finish the original report, and then figure out of what they want to do. Either A, we make a note for sanitation, but we can just leave it there. >> All right, I think they're >> Or what they want to do. Sergeant, you good to move it? >> If they want to, yeah. >> Yeah, yeah. >> They want me to release him, I will, but he's drunk as a skunk. I got He said basically he was coming out the store, some dude hit him over the head, and he fell down, and he can't really make a report. That's all I could get out of him. He's drunk. >> So, Schmidt, the owner of the dog, made the police report, made the call to 911, and had the police come over to his house. >> I said yeah, I know, but he came out the house drunk, so I don't know. I asked him did he did he want a report or what? Like is that Like is that >> All he knows is he be let out to pet his dog. >> Was he cool with you? Not really. He thinks I'm the one that shot his dog. Did you Were you Were you able to find him? >> His name is Tommy Schmidt. >> No, I didn't find him. Did you Did you find him on the evidence? I think your dad's going to grab the dog. >> I know. He needs to race him to the vet, you know. >> Give me one second. What's your last name? >> Schmidt. >> Schmidt? Sorry, you said what? >> Yeah. It's S C H M I D T. Can I just see my dog at least before that you all shoot him and kill him? >> What's your date of birth? >> Can I see my dog at least after you want to [ __ ] murder him? >> They're just moving him out of the street right now. >> Can I see him? >> They're just moving him out of the street right now. Patience. >> Can I see my dog? Please. Yes. Yes. Yes. This is >> No, you can you can go you can cut him loose. >> What do you say? >> I said you can cut him loose. >> I How do you know I'm toxic? You don't know anything. Yeah. >> We don't we don't know anything. >> Now, can Thomas keep his freaking mouth shut? Can he? Or is he going to threaten a cop again? And you know you know you know what's not right what cops do. But you know if you don't keep your mouth shut, they're going to take you down. That's just what they do. >> Shot my dog. >> Hold on. >> Shot my [ __ ] dog. >> I'm not He shot my [ __ ] dog. >> Hold on. >> You [ __ ] dumbass. You dumbass. You dumbass [ __ ] >> Going to jail now. >> You want to taze me? [ __ ] you. [ __ ] you. I'll beat your [ __ ] ass. >> See what I'm talking about? Now you're going to jail for that. >> All right. All right. All right. Okay. I'm not. I'm not. I'm not. >> I'M NOT DOING THIS. >> I'M NOT. >> I'M NOT. >> I'M NOT. I'M NOT. I'M NOT. I just I'm very upset about my dog. >> He's just very upset. >> I was all about giving him courtesy in this situation. I'm all upset about my dog. >> Come on. Let me get the seat belt off. >> DAD. DAD. THIS IS [ __ ] >> GET IN >> THE CAR. >> Call Sarah Huckabee. >> Get in the car. >> Call Sarah Huckabee. This is [ __ ] >> Sarah Huckabee, who's the governor of Arkansas, backs the blue. Sarah Huckabee ain't going to do anything for you. >> Get in the car. Put your foot in. Get in the car. >> Call Sarah Huckabee. >> I'm bleeding, so you have to get me medical attention. >> I got you. >> Yeah. You probably need it, too, here in a second. >> Public intoxication >> Disorderly >> Yeah, I think so. >> Disorderly and terroristic threatening >> Yeah, I gave I gave him a pass the first time he said he towards me. >> I know. I know. He wants to act disorderly in front of officers, he can go to jail. I wouldn't hit him with public intoxication. >> Yeah, he was at his house when we got here, but I'll do disorderly cuz he was That was in public one. And then terroristic threatening >> Uh You'll have to write it since he's the victim. And then I'll make a new incident number for the dog, cuz I'll have to write that. >> You know what your incident number is? >> I I can find I can look it up on the computer room. >> No, I can find it. I got >> So So can I transport him or >> You can take him down there, but luckily it's raining, we'll need to do the paperwork. >> All right. I have it. Am I probably going to jail? >> Let me have it, Dad. >> Thomas >> [ __ ] these mother >> I'll talk to you in a little bit. Don't say another word. Don't say another word, buddy. You shouldn't have shot him. >> Yep, Thomas's dad is right. He shouldn't have shot the dog. Thomas, shut the freak up. >> What did all he say? >> Saying he was going to kick my ass. >> He'll be fine. >> say I didn't say my I know who he is. >> What about the incident? >> No, I'm talking about George. I know who terroristic threatening >> Oh, terroristic threatening and uh disorderly conduct >> Hey Hey, sir, can I talk Can I talk to you real quick? Can I see my dog, please? >> If you behaved, you would have been able to see him. >> I just cannot see him. I mean there is no way he's going to hate me. He gets shot and >> Yes. >> No, he's not aggressive. No, he wouldn't bite you. No, he would not. >> I'm going to investigate it, but we're not letting you out of the car again. We already tried once and you started threatening me. >> I'll I'll I'll fold my hands behind my back with the hands on. Can I see my dog, please? >> No. >> I will hold I didn't have I didn't have cuffs on. I have cuffs on now. Can I see my dog, please? >> No. >> Can I see my dog, please? >> we let you out of the car, you start threatening us. So, we're not letting >> I won't I won't I'm going to do it again. Hey. >> We already tried it. >> Hey, give me the favor of seeing my dog, please. [ __ ] >> I want you out of All right. >> Hey. >> Shut the [ __ ] up. Shut the [ __ ] up. >> What we're going to do is since he's so aggressive with you, once you get to county, you open the door, get him out, take him in, and then you just come across the street, okay? Cuz he has an issue with you. We don't want that to happen. Yeah. >> This taser you used >> It was a refusal of orders. It just got chaotic. >> Not one of these cops are like, "Dude, you shot his dog." You shot his dog. You could tase the dog. You know how the taser probes work? Just like that. It would have seized the dog up. He would have dropped right there. He would have stopped being aggressive. Spray him with pepper spray. He would have ran back into the yard or ran somewhere away from you. Have you ever seen a dog get sprayed by a skunk? Immediately, the aggressiveness ends and they just want that stuff out of their eyes. But, at least the dog would have lived. And on Thomas's part, Thomas Schmidt's part, why didn't you have a leash on the dog? Number one, why did you call the police? You should know by now, it's 2026. You've had access to plenty of YouTube videos. You know how dangerous cops are. Why did you call the police? That puts your life, your family's life, your pet's life in danger. Why didn't you have your dog on the leash? You're the one who called the cops over to your house. I don't give Thomas Schmidt a pass, and I don't give the cops a pass. >> Unless you feel that confident in I would do disorderly in public in 30 seconds. Right. But yeah, just get him there, let Rina get him out so we don't have any other issues. And then you can trust me. >> Are you all right? >> Yeah, I'm good. That makes sense. >> Hey, sir. Hey, I have the right to do this. I'm not I I I refuse to be driven by him that shot my dog. I'm not No, I'm not I'm not being driven by him. No, I'm >> I don't blame him. I wouldn't want to be driven by the guy who shot my dog, either. As a matter of fact, I don't know what I would do if if a cop shot my dog. What would you do if a cop shot your dog? Could the cop have employed another tactic? Could he have used less lethal force, bear spray, a taser? Did he have to pull out his gun? What do you think? What would you have done if a cop shot your dog? Do you think Thomas Schmidt bears any responsibility in this at all? Did he make any mistakes in your opinion? Leave your thoughts about this in the comments section below. I really want to hear what you have to say. Like this video, share this video, subscribe to the channel, hit the bell notification icon.
