welcome to the here's the deal channel and cue the intro in three two one [Music] [Applause] there are a lot of wise people out there who have counseled others that if you ever get into an interaction with cops do not answer their questions why because as we all know anything that you say can and will be used against you by that law enforcer to violate your rights so if you are in a situation where you have to interact with cops you take the offensive and you kindly politely and calmly ask them questions one of the things that they like to do when they pull people over is they like to swindle people into getting them to consent to a search and how they usually do that is you don't have anything in the vehicle that we need to know about do you you don't have anything illegal in this vehicle do you you don't have guns or drugs or paraphernalia or contraband or anything like that and the driver the driver of the vehicle usually says something like no i don't have anything in the vehicle i don't have anything to hide and then they say well then if you don't have anything to hide you wouldn't mind if we just kind of conduct a little search would you and sometimes people answer no and the cop will take that as no i don't mind if you search my vehicle and then they end up searching the vehicle thinking that they have consent what you want to do is say instead of saying you know there's a lot of people out there who say just say i don't consent that's fine you can do that or you can say hey let me ask you a question officer what is the supreme law of the land am i currently in the united states of america and isn't the supreme law of the land the constitution of the united states and if the supreme law of the land is the constitution of the united states haven't you officer sworn to protect defend and uphold the constitution the united states against all enemies foreign and domestic you're not here to be the domestic enemy you promise to protect me from are you how about this officer are you aware of the fourth amendment to the constitution oh i just so happen to have a copy of the fourth amendment to the constitution i'd like to read it to you right now officer because i know that you're not here to violate my rights and you can have one of these on board with you at all times if you'll notice there are a couple things that i put in bold there's one thing right here there's a word right here that i underlined in red just to highlight this to the officer and to remind them that they actually took an oath to protect and defend and to serve me they call themselves public servants so i remind them officer this right here says that i have the right to be secure i even underlined it officer being completely nice the entire time cordial kind calm polite respectful but i just want to remind you that you promised to keep me secure in my persons houses papers and effects and that my right shall not be violated now officer let me ask you a question you're not here to violate my fourth amendment right to be secure are you because if you try to rifle through my stuff you're actually making me insecure and if you go through my stuff if you call a dog to come around here and fake hit on my car pretending to look for drugs or other contraband or paraphernalia aren't you making me insecure in my person's houses papers and effects how is what you're about to do or what you and your buddies buddies are going to do consistent with keeping me secure in my person's houses papers and effects how is it consistent with shall not be violated and just put it back on them see they took an oath they gave their word they swore they would protect defend and uphold this right here that they're trying so desperately to violate so maybe next time you are in an interaction a traffic interaction with the cop you can use this and what i've done here is i've created two of these and then you can be kind to the officer and say hey you know what i made a copy just for you let me let me tear along this perforated line right here and officer let me give you this portion and i'd like you to share this with everyone in your department and remind them that they took an oath to keep me and everybody else in this community including your fellow officers secure in their persons houses papers and effects and i just want to encourage you officer to uphold fulfill and honor your freaking oath [Music]
