So, what happened was right through the night they were drinking, right? And we had gotten into a accident, right? I wasn't the one drinking or nothing like that. I'm still cohesive obviously. Um when going ahead and dropping them off here cuz like the car could not start. The the car is damaged and everything. We tried to go ahead and >> Is that the red car from this morning? >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> So had this here, right? And through and through when they were going when I was trying to figure out how to get like a towing company, right, to come over here and allocate the money to come over here, they they kept coming ahead and like, you know, going inside, going and every other time I'd purchase the same item every other time. >> Every every time every time all of the misprices, it was just a disturbance that was happening. They were belligerent and they're just I'm trying to >> Well, she's got a felony now. So, a little sandwich or whatever that they have that that you stole, you kick sheep in the face. So now she's going for a felony. [laughter] >> Yo, this guy is like [laughter] he's doing everything in his power to save his girlfriend, but his girlfriend is unhinged, man. >> See you on out. Can I get their their information like their mother's information or something? I need their mother's information to call them and let them know what's going on. Their mother's information and stuff. I need to get their >> Whose mother's information? >> Their mother's information. >> I don't know who you're saying there's mother's information. >> How old is she? >> She's 22. >> Okay. She's an adult. You can go on out now. You're not involved in this. [laughter] He's still standing around. [laughter] >> What do we got? >> Let me grab the manager was dealing with her. >> I could have walked away. >> Huh? >> I could have walked away. >> I didn't. >> Right now you >> paid for this [ __ ] >> What the [ __ ] am I in trouble for? Uh, so you have a felony now. >> How am I do? How do I have fel How How do I have a felony? >> Could you kick me in the chest? >> No, I did not. >> Okay, that's right on camera. So you have a felony. >> Are you serious? >> Am I serious? Yeah, I am. How old are you? >> I It was self-defense. >> Okay, good. You can say that. You got resisting and you got shoplifting. So you have three charges. >> Okay. >> Hi. >> Hey, so you have shoplifting? >> Yeah. >> Like 100%. >> Oh, 100%. >> Perfect. >> So first she grabbed a bag and filled it full of crap. Okay. >> And which I wasn't 100% sure on. And then I saw her grab some beef jerky and stuff and stick it in the bag. She walked up here and pretended like she was going to bring up a bag of nuts. >> Okay. >> And then she goes, "Oh, it didn't give me a receipt." I said, "Well, you actually have to bring it through in order for it to give you a receipt." And I said, "You also need to pay for the beef jerky that I saw you stick in the bag." >> Mhm. >> She goes, "I paid for that." I said, "No, you didn't." >> What bag? The orange backpack or >> No, she had one of our Wawwa shopping bags. >> Okay. >> Have a great day. And then she goes, "I paid for that and he took it out of the bag cuz he knew that she didn't pay for it." So he paid for that and the nuts. She came back in a little while later. Well, she grabbed the receipt and then she slammed it on the counter and she goes, "Look, Iinging paid for it." >> I was like, "Okay, that's how we're going to be." She left. She came back a few minutes later, used the bathroom, blah blah. She came back in like four times. Then she came back in right before I called you guys, grabbed a mango juice and a wrap from the express case >> and walked out the door. >> I said, "You need to pay for that or I'm going to call the police." This is the third time. >> Mhm. >> And she kept going. >> So I I called you guys. I was like, "I'm done." >> Okay. >> She made it around the building. He started walking back in when I was on the phone with you guys. that we seen. We saw that in their hand, the the rap and the juice. We seen that, so they didn't pay for that. >> And he goes, "Are you calling the police on her?" I said, "None of your business." >> Mhm. >> He's like, "Can you not call the police on her? It's been a rough night." I said, "I don't give a shit." >> Keep kicking this door. I'm going to hog tie you. All right. >> So, you calm your ass down and relax. I don't care about shoplifting. >> All right. >> It's not going through your >> I don't care about the shop. receipt. >> That's nice. You have a felony. Congratulations. >> Keep talking. >> Why are you still here? >> If you keep staying in here with this investigation, you're going to jail. Go stand against that wall. All right. 25 ft. Go back. >> Apparently, she came in. >> Oh, this must be Florida. Oh, yeah. [laughter] 25 ft. Man, back your ass up, man. What you thought this was? He turn around. Where you at? Why are you still Why are you still here, man? Like, what? You know, it's like one of those gnats. You know what I mean? One of them uh like or maybe a fruit fly or one of those uh mosquitoes. You know what I mean? It's like, get away. Get away. You know, why are you still here, man? Didn't I tell you to step off? >> A couple days ago with a big green tote bag and filled it full of stuff and left. >> Okay. All right. So obviously you know how this go. I mean the the print out with all the receipts of all the things that have been stolen uh the video and stuff. I got to go out here. She's got a felony out. She kicked Corporal. He told me she was going to be my ass. So >> I hate to be this way but he can start. I already asked the lady for the everything. >> I guess it's three times this morning. >> Um that's what I mean. >> You said kicking me with self. Well, I mean, oh, I haven't even looked in her bag yet. NEVER EVEN GOT THERE. >> I HAVE A RECEIPT. I have a receipt. >> Okay. >> What is the problem? >> What is the problem? Please tell me what the problem is. Can I steal three times? You can look at the camera. >> I just did. >> Did you? >> Look at it again. >> No. >> Okay. What did I do? What the [ __ ] did I DO? LOOK AT THE CAMERA. Holy Christmas. Where did the boyfriend go? >> She's not kicking it. It's her hands. Is >> that what it's doing? >> Yeah, it's the It's her hands and the handcuffs. This was specifically mentioned. >> Phone chill for a second. I'll be right back. >> Officer, but over what? >> This is the mother and everything discussing. >> Good morning. >> Good morning. >> I am so sorry. She has been having A ROUGH TIME. IN AN AMAZING FAMILY. WE'RE all military people. >> I understand. Well, I I'm not entirely sure what popped off this morning. This was a a simple uh shoplifting that I probably could have issued a notice to appear for. Uh she flipped the lid. All she's been doing since is screaming and kicking. She kicked the corporal in the chest. Uh he's wanted looking to charge her with a felony battery on law enforcement. >> Okay. I promise you she's >> okay. But I got a bag full of stuff. So she stole out of Wawa as well. What do you want me to do with that? >> Okay. I just >> trying to figure out >> that's part of the problem. She messes up. Mom wants to save the day, you know, which whatever, right? Any any parent is going to try to do that. But at some point, you know, hey, you got to you got to let them learn. That's the only way they're going to learn if they keep doing bad behavior and you bail them out every time. Even though we know that shoplifting doesn't work like that, right? She got caught with it. There is no I'll pay, you know? No. But still, just her offering and stuff like that just tells me that every time she messes up, mommy comes to save the day. At no point is she going to learn her lesson. She's 22 years old and doing this types of stuff, man. It is what it is. >> Excuse me. Uh, listen, I I I I can appreciate that, but at the same time, I mean, I not not today. She's She's going to the county of jail. All right. Yes, ma'am. Are you Whatever out here is not stolen. Are you willing to take of hers? >> All of it's not stolen. It's all purchased, sir. >> Everything up there's purchased. >> Everything. Every single time they went. >> You have receipts for all of it? >> I have I have digital receipts, sir. I have digital receipts of the purchases and everything. And there was none of that. It was just a misconception of what the she saw. 25, $9, $2, $12, $5. That's all from this store today. Today, all of it. All of it is not. Just give me a second. Okay. >> Which that makes sense because she was trying to take it. The girl was trying to take it, but she was getting caught and the guy was was pay ended up paying for this for it. Just like with the beef jerky, she stickked in the bag. The lady caught it. The guy paid for it. >> You good? >> So, this her boy her boyfriend out here has a bunch of Waw Wa receipts >> because he because he came back in and paid for this stuff after I called you guys. [laughter] >> Okay. I Yeah, that's that's I was like, they don't just call for nothing until they know our procedure and what problem for, you know. >> Yeah, he brought her back in when I called you guys to pay for the wrap and the mango juice. >> Okay. And that's all on video. >> Yeah. >> Perfect. >> Yeah, because and then she that's when she got aggressive and she's like, "See, I paid for it." >> And we have all that. >> Oh, yeah. >> Beautiful. >> Yeah. >> I don't know. I just got here. They're They're going in to check what is and what isn't stolen. >> And I We know everything. >> Those are the three items I know for a fact that she stole today. >> There's like a cold Arizona tea. There's watermelon. There's >> But those are the three items that I physically saw her take. >> They were in here a lot of times. Her specifically at least five or six times. >> The other stuff in the bag I I know she stole, but I didn't physically see her take it. >> Okay. >> Have a receipt. All that other receipt is from another grocery store from last night. >> Where's the receipt? >> Not in my bag. Go back home. >> You can give us the receipt, but you need to go back home. We'll do that and I will get her to the county jail. >> Okay. Here I >> So the receipts that he has, >> you you paid for the stuff. Yeah. >> You paid for the You paid for it before she walked out of the store with it. >> When she had paid when she had went. >> So she took all the stuff. He went back in and paid afterwards. So she passed all points of sale. >> So >> you only had to three items, [ __ ] Because that's all Iing GOT FROM THIS GAS STATION. YOU'RE NOT UNDERSTANDING. THAT'S ALL I GOT. >> Look at the LOOK AT THE CAMERA. >> I I am looking. LOOK AT THE CAMERA. THAT'S ALL I GOT. >> That's all you got? >> LOOK AT THE CAMERA. >> I did. >> LOOK AT IT AGAIN, [ __ ] >> That's what she sent. So, he has the chime receipts on his phone. I walked back inside. I'm like, "He has these receipts." She goes, "Yeah." Because I told him to call the cops and he ran back inside after she'd been in here three or four times and like rung a bunch of [ __ ] up. Hey, >> she also screaming yelling, too. >> Oh, gotcha. >> Is this a really establishment? >> Yep. >> Shoplifting. existing very >> and t >> was she trespassing? >> No, but we need to circle one now. >> She think all that? >> Yeah. So, here's the deal. Wawa has you paying for the stuff after she walked out of the store with me. Okay. In the state of Florida, passing all points of sale is considered retail shop. Okay. If I would have walked up to her, we would have had a conversation. They could have even dropped it. Or if they wanted to press charge, I would have given her a piece of paper and said, "You need to be in court on this date." >> They going to drop this anyway. >> Did it go that way? >> Okay. So, >> I get it. But at the same time, she dictated how this is going to go, right? >> The fact is that I paid for it and I have a receipt. >> So, what's the problem? >> What's What's your boyfriend's name? So I I talked to Okay. >> And uh he said you did come in and out of there a few times with stuff without paying for it, but at the end he went back and paid for for some of it or all of it. The problem is >> But I went in there today. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> The problem is >> What other time did I come in there? Do you guys have me on camera? >> Mhm. >> Doing what? um inside of the store, walking in, walking out with items passing the the registers. >> No receipt. >> No, nothing. >> No, there's no receipt because >> there has to be a receipt. >> You didn't pay for it. >> I did. >> Okay, listen. It's all good. >> I'm telling you, I did. >> But I also want to explain to you though that had you not flipped out, >> okay? But this is a lot of [ __ ] to throw on me. I've been going through [ __ ] for the past week. I don't understand. I got stabbed by a [ __ ] Okay, >> I've got to put her in cuffs and and shit's been going on. I paid for the [ __ ] I came back and I paid for it because I knew I didn't. >> Okay, >> I realized that I did not. >> Okay, >> I I didn't realize it didn't go it didn't go through. >> Okay, >> you guys put me in cuffs without me. Like, like why? >> Preemptively. Number one, >> talk about it. >> Listen, listen. Number one, I was the only deputy there. There's two of you. I get a call that you're screaming at staff inside of the store. >> That's after the fact. >> That's after she's she's accusing me of stealing from the store after I already paid for it. >> Listen, after I'm showing her the receipt. >> Okay. Have you ever been to jail before? >> No. I've been a pretty good kid, you know. >> I get that. >> How old are you? >> 22. Is this going to go on my record? >> Yes, ma'am. So like jobs and stuff can see this. >> Uh depending on how deep they look, >> do they usually look for this kind of stuff? >> I mean they they probably do. >> Like as a phabotamist, I draw blood. >> Right. >> I I can't tell you what one employer will do to the next arrest. She was initially charged with retail theft, disorderly conduct, battery on a law enforcement officer, a thirdderee felony in the state of Florida, and resisting an officer without violence. She was held on a $4,400 bond, which she later posted. When the state formally filed charges a few weeks later, the retail theft charge was reclassified to seconddegree petty theft, while the other three charges remained the same. She has initially entered a written plea of not guilty to [music] all charges. The judge originally ordered her to observe mental health court as a condition of her bond, but later struck that requirement after she appeared for a hearing. At this time, the case remains ongoing and is currently pending trial. [music]
