On April 1st, 2024, officers responded
to a report of a man impersonating a
police officer in a residential
neighborhood. Dressed in all black and
shouting, "Police!" the suspect forced
entry into a home and threw the
homeowner to the ground. The victim
fought back and during the struggle, two
shots were fired. The suspect fled the
scene on foot.

The man was charged with two counts of
home invasion and two counts of unlawful
possession of a weapon by a felon. It
was later discovered that he was already
out on pre-trial release in Chicago,
where he faces nine pending charges.
