on january twenty second two 2022 police
were notified of a subject passed out in
a running vehicle in oak creek wisconsin
upon approach the officers observed the
driver hunched over and noticed an open
bottle of liquor in the car
the driver was later identified as
30-year-old keith norrington
so
breathing
it's running
it's got open container in the back
pocket in the door
i ran it
officers began banging on the windows of
the vehicle in an attempt to wake and
make contact with the driver
i don't know
after banging on the windows for almost
a minute keith began moving his head and
sat up in the seat after he realized it
was the police he raised up his phone
from his lap and acted as if he was on
it the entire time

after noting keith's demeanor and the
possibility for non-compliance the
officer suggested they get stop sticks
and place them at the rear passenger

so i came out of my household to protect

eventually officers asked keith to step
out of the vehicle he refused and it was
apparent that he was attempting to delay
exiting his vehicle
well then first let's hit let's do some

as an officer reached into the open
window and attempted to unlock the
driver's door keith immediately
prevented him from doing so as they
heard the car engine revving keith put
the vehicle in reverse and accelerated
rapidly using the open door as a means
to strike the officers

mutual aid for sticks is requested
after about a five mile chase all oak
creek police squads terminated the
pursuit
keith had speeds well in excess of 100
miles per hour and the road conditions
were not optimal

sheriff's assistance as well
a few hours later milwaukee police
department officers had located the
vehicle and that keith was in an
apartment near it eventually he was
found and taken into custody without
incident the officers involved in the
initial traffic stop suffered minor
injuries and returned to work after a
few days
keith was ultimately charged with
operating after suspension fleeing an
officer owi battery to an officer and
resisting
piss he was given a two thousand dollar
signature bond and was ordered to
maintain absolute sobriety as well as no
driving without a valid license and
insurance
