we commend the female victim for Having
the courage to speak up and doing a
great job in doing so this suspect was
charged with battery and resisting the
suspect was released on a $25,000 Bond
the same day court records indicate he
ultimately pleaded no contest to the
assault charge and as part of the
agreement the resisting charge was
dropped he was sentenced to 6 months of
Probation and ordered to pay
$575 in fines along with a letter of
apology in the months following he was
found drunk passed out in a car that had
crashed at the local high school he was
arrested on suspicion of drunk driving
causing damage he obtained a private
attorney and that case is still being
adjudicated he's Presumed Innocent of
those charges to be simple just remember
to respect everyone's space in their
body and you won't have a problem to be
clear just because a person may be
wearing something that is revealing
doesn't give anyone the right to touch
that person without an invitation now
some years back I responded to a call
with my partner so we pull up and hear
what can only be described as someone
one possibly being taken advantage of
inside so we find out where the house is
and gain access to the property and we
find a crying woman and a shirtless man
inside so we separate the woman because
she's clearly afraid and after repeated
attempts to get her to tell us what
happened the woman refused and just
wanted to be taken home of course she
had no visible injuries and she had to
sign a document stated that she refused
to cooperate and believe it or not this
happens a lot now the sad thing is as a
cop there's absolutely nothing you can
do without a statement even though you
know possibly that something criminal
may have happened so with this case out
of Key West Florida we have a woman just
out when this man allegedly just takes
it upon himself to physically touch this
woman and then makes a disrespectful
statement now what this man did is
considered battery and I'm glad that
there was a witness because a lot of
times people do not want to get involved
now battery and Florida involves actual
and intentional touching or striking of
another person against their will or
intentionally causing them bodily harm
as with assault battery can either be a
misdemeanor or a felony depending upon
the severity of the action now the man
even attempted to touch the officer and
the officer had to remind him to keep
his hands to himself well that's all I
