So we pulled the car and he went and got me. He was crying. >> Send me a handcuff. >> Sit down in the car. >> On June 29th, 20125, Davy police responded to a 911 call, reporting a highly intoxicated woman passed out behind the wheel of a running vehicle with a crying 3-week old baby trapped in the back seat. Soon, what began as a welfare check quickly took a dangerous turn. >> You all right? >> No. >> What's going on? Where are you coming from? Where were you at before here? >> Just like that, man. I can't hang out the window. >> Hello. Where were you at before here? >> I don't even know what you no. What you got going on? >> Stop. >> Can you look in that bag and >> Right now, we're not going to go in her car. We're waiting for FHP to get here. >> I will work on getting more milk for the baby. Okay. That's why I'm already looking. >> Just go back there. >> You're fucking dumb. >> Just go over there, sir. I don't know how you >> Stop playing with me. Stop playing with me. >> Hello. >> How you doing? >> Good. Who's that? >> My daughter. Does she look like me? >> No. >> I just pulled her out of the back of that car. >> Okay. So, really quick, we were coming to take this turn here and she was asleep and we passed out in the car with her feet out the window. Her flashes were out the window. >> Yeah, her feet were up out of the window. So, he's like, "Are you okay? Are you okay?" And she wasn't waking up. So, we pulled the car and he went and got the baby was crying and she was completely out of it. So, he took the baby out feeding the baby, but um yeah, she's definitely not. It's very >> You can take it from here, but we didn't want to leave. appears to be a deep something. >> Yeah, I know for sure. >> You have her cases. So, I was on my way home from just working at the soccer stadium and I seen he's camping here with a baby. I'm like, okay. Was it a accident? So, >> baby's a week old. >> So, got it. >> Is it her baby? >> Yeah, >> hers. I took it out of the car. >> Crying. She was passed out. >> No, this is FHP. >> Oh, it's FHP. Is this uh what's it called? >> Are we waiting for somebody else? >> Yeah, just give me a second. I appreciate you're feeding the baby. Obviously, you know what you're doing. So, >> yeah, the the bottle was in the back. >> I think it was AK coming off Highway 95. >> So, we call University Plantation, right? >> Well, this is technically plantation all area, but they handle westbound traffic. >> Yeah, we handle eastbound and then plantation handles. >> Yeah, I No, I understand. Yeah, you're you're there. >> Thank you for helping us. There's no problem. >> Where did you say you were before here? >> I ain't saying nothing. >> Where are you coming back from? >> I ain't coming back from nothing. >> Well, you're driving somewhere. >> So, trying to figure out where you were before here. >> All right. >> So, where were you? >> I don't know. >> You don't know where you were? >> I don't know. You at a restaurant, beach. >> Well, I use that term loosely. You had >> You got that out of her. >> What's up? >> We got got what? >> Where were you before here? How did you get here? Where do you live? >> You what? >> You good? >> I'm great. >> What's wrong? >> Where do you live? >> What you doing? >> What city do you live in? >> Where do you live? >> Where were you before here? with the bar restaurant. Do >> you know where you were? >> Do you know where you're at? >> Where are you right now? You know what city you're in? >> Hi. How are you? >> This is staying open. >> Yeah, this is staying open. >> I promise you, you're not closing this door. All right. And what you going to do? >> You're going to go relax. You're going to go in handcuffs. >> What? Okay. Sit down. Put me in handcuffs. >> Sit down. Handcuffs. Please put me in handcuffs. >> Sit down. >> Please put me in handcuffs. >> What you going to do? >> This so stupid. You stupid. You so you Oh my god. >> Any family members? >> We have no idea. We don't even know her name. >> Where's your phone? >> I can give you >> Okay, we need someone to come get your baby. Where's your phone? >> There's a phone back here in the back seat. >> Yeah, but we can't. >> Where's your cell phone? Is the pink Is the pink phone in the back yours? >> Can you grab your phone behind the seat? >> Who can we call? What family member? >> We need to call a family member for your baby. >> All right. Okay. >> Okay. Where's your phone? >> Do you know the phone number or can you look through your phone and get it? Can you grab your phone in the back? this uh the pink one behind you. >> So, we're going to put it back in the car seat. >> Sit down. Sit down. >> Sit down in the car. >> All right. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, >> relax, relax. Sit down. >> Watch yourself. >> You said when you guys got here she was just sitting down with her feet out the window. She was passed out with her feet up out of the window and the baby was crying. So we pulled up. We weren't taking the turn. And when Bruce saw her sitting there with her flashes on, it's like, "How can we help?" Right? And then she wasn't responding. So we pulled up and we rolled down the window. We could hear the baby crying. I'm like, "There's a baby in the car." Oh my god. How many people? That's another That's And then the ones that were flipping us Michael Ford. >> Yeah. >> They're mediocre expenses. >> She's got one. >> Yeah. Maybe it's >> Yeah, it's very low expensive. There's like a stroller and stuff >> in the back and I can't open it. >> She was driving with the baby car parked here kind of where that fire truck is in this lane. Car um feet were out the window. She passed out. Baby's in the back seat crying, screaming. Uh random couple, older couple going to dinner stop and see her. They're like, "Hey, like she looks like she needs help." So they stop, they see the her passed out, the baby's crying and everything. So we get the call, we get here, uh, take the baby out, hold it, you know, bottlefeed and everything. She's severely intoxicated. Can't answer any questions like, "Hey, like, you know, where are you coming from?" You know, "Where do you live?" and all that. Um, we had her sitting in the car cuz I don't want her running around on the road on the highway when it's intoxicating. She is Emily. >> So, you're okay. It's your cousin here. >> You okay with your child going with her? With your cousin? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> I love you. >> What's your baby's name? >> What's the baby's name? >> Malachi. Angel. I don't even know how to spell that person's name. >> She's okay with her going with her. >> Okay. And you She had You each have each other's phone number? >> Yeah, she has my number. >> Okay. >> You get her number already. >> Get it from her. Get it from >> Ask her. We need your phone number. >> So, here here's the thing. She's under arrest. All right. I'm Sergeant Korea. All right. This officer done if I rescue Captain >> Alana. >> Alana. Okay. Um roll her window. Uh, so at this point she's under arrest for DUI, battery on a law enforcement officer. Obviously, she's extremely intoxicated. She was passed out here drunk in a car and a good Samaritan came here. She had her feet hanging out in the window and the hazard lights on on the car on the side of the highway. So they came, they turned the key off and the baby was in the back seat screaming and crying. So luckily some good Samaritans stayed here. They fed the baby a bottle and they waited for us to get here. >> Luckily and like it could have been even worse. Especially if someone's not paying attention random or they could have took the baby and kidnapped the baby and >> they could have kidnapped the baby anymore. >> You guys are Do you have children? >> I have two. I have a 23y old and I have a 60-year-old. >> So, you at least know how to take care of a child for the night or something. Um, this whole thing is extremely documented. We're all in body cameras. The biggest thing is, would you mind? I'll talk to her just um the thing is we want to get the child with the next closest family member that we possibly can. Like I explained before, >> I'm now requesting that you submit to a lawful test of your breath for the purpose of determining its alcohol content. >> No. Okay. If you refuse to take the test I have requested of you, your driving privilege will be suspended for one period of one year for a first refusal for 18 months if your driving privilege has been previously suspended for refusing to submit to a lawful test of your breath urine or alcohol or blood. Additionally, if you refuse to take the test I have requested of you and if your driving privilege has been previously suspended for refusal to submit to a lawful test of your breer, you will be committing a misdemeanor in addition to any other penalties which may be imposed by law.
