She goes. On May 1st, 2024, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Russell Road in Dalb, Illinois after reports of a disturbance involving multiple individuals. When police arrived, they encountered 20-year-old Armani Franklin, a student at Northern Illinois University. What started as a verbal conflict quickly escalated. Body cam footage captured the intense confrontation that followed, including shouting, officer commands, and a physical altercation that led to Franklin's arrest on multiple charges. ass. >> She too fucking big. Fuck is wrong with you? >> They're under arrest for swinging at me. That's why. >> No, just push me. >> Yeah, to stay back. >> Right here. How about there? >> Kick your knees up. Sit up. >> No. Why am I holding it? >> You're under arrest. Get up. >> Watch out. >> Get up. >> Exactly. He just pushed the fuck the fuck. Tell him leave me alone. >> In the car. >> Fuck is wrong with y'all? >> Y'all got me fucked up. Y'all think he can put his fucking hands on me? >> A gun. He told do nothing. >> He punched me >> after telling you to stay back and you did not comply. >> I wasn't even talking to his ass. >> Doesn't matter. >> Tell about don't comply. >> Now you're under arrest. >> I wasn't even doing shit. >> What the fuck? >> Are you doing okay? Do you have any injuries on you? Okay. All right. I'm going to get you out of here. Okay. Going to step up to that gray door. All right. >> Who is that other jerk that kept chirping at you? >> Who? >> That other That other lady. She trouble. >> Uh, I don't know. She kept on talking to me though. >> And as I'm talking, >> she was talking all kinds of stuff. Yeah, she was chirping. >> As I'm talking to the police officer, people pushing me. I'm a girl. You don't have to do that. I almost fell back. You don't have to do that to me. First of all, and I wasn't >> I know things escalated pretty quick. So I I'll I'll try to explain to you what I'll do. >> I tried to push him back and now he's saying I swung at him. No, you pushed me to the point where I stumbled all the way back here. I'm a female. >> I I saw that happen. >> 20-y old female. You don't have to put your hands on me like 20? >> Yes. >> Okay. Um so I'm going to take this purse off. You okay? Actually, I'm going to uncuff you first. We'll step off to this counter. Okay. >> I'm going to put some gloves on. Okay. So I'm going to walk you through why those things happened. Okay. And I know it it's not going to help the situation. It's not going to help you feel better, but I'll tell you just for future reference so that way you understand where the police why why we behave the way we do because if I just yell at you, I don't think that's constructive. Right. I don't think that's going to help us get any better. >> I was talking to him, but she was also talking to me. So, it's not like I wasn't complying. >> No, she wasn't. >> He's talking to me and this lady is screaming at me. >> It's just in that case, I know you just got to listen to what he's saying and I know it's hard to do sometimes. Okay. >> But at least nowations it it so you were trying to kind of focus on two things at once, right? So you were just involved in some crazy thing and then all of a sudden you're you're talking back and forth with that other lady, right? And then we show up, right? So at that moment our priority becomes cuz we're we're kind of walking into a fog, right? We don't know who's who. We don't know who's the bad guy or anything like that. So we don't want further fights to happen. So what that officer did, he stepped towards you. He says, "Hey, stay back." Okay? And then I step towards the other person say, "Hey, stay back." So she's not coming towards me or anything, but she's tripping at you, right? So that's probably what's distracting you. But when that officer gives you a command to stay back and then you advance, right? So that's so he I so he pushed you back and then you advance once more. Okay? And that's the reason you were placed under arrest. Okay? Cuz by by placing your it's unlawful to to put your hands on a law enforcement officer in that fashion. >> Is it okay for him to push the shot? I mean like that if he gives you if he gives you the verbal command to do so, I I think so. While the phrase if it's okay or not, it it it is situation dependent, right? I didn't see exactly what happened. So, um that can be decided later on, okay? Because there'll be a court date for this. But once we get this figured out, you you will be released today, okay? Unless something else crazy comes up. Okay? >> What's your name? >> Mommy. >> Okay. [Music] You got You said have your bra on. I thought I saw from behind that something might be undone in the back. >> That's my bra. Okay. You want to redo that real quick? >> It's okay now. >> You sure? Okay. I got to cuz I got to check inside your uh your pockets and stuff on your sweatshirt. Okay. >> So, what I'll have you do, I'll have you re cinch down your bra. Okay. Cuz I got to have you take off that sweatshirt real quick and then as soon as I clear it once it's good. >> It's a sports bra. Okay. Right there. >> Last name is Franklin. >> Yes. [Music] >> Armani. Can you spell your Armani for me? A R M A N I >> A R M A N I. Okay. Do you have a middle initial? >> Deep. >> D. And when's your birthday? >> 0316 2004. >> Good phone number. >> And where are you staying at right now? >> I really I'm going to Chicago, but I niu. >> You're going to niu? Okay. Which uh which hall are you staying at? >> Neptune. >> Neptune. Okay. And which unit is that? >> That's north. >> North. Okay. Which room number? >> 237. >> Okay. All right. [Music] Okay. So, we got jewelry here, a couple rings, bracelet, two necklaces. Okay. Uh, is there any way you can safely take out your your stud earring and your and your nose ring, please? We just want to keep everything safe because I'll write it all down and so that everything you came in with goes out. Okay. Okay. >> All right. Go ahead and take one step back and hold your arms up kind of like you're doing a tea pose. Thank you. And let's just run over the surface. [Music] Okay. Thank you. And it gets a little chilly back here. So, I'm going to give this back to you. Thank you for your patience with that. Okay. All right. Um, I just I just want to be as transparent as possible because I think that telling people exactly what I'm doing and why I'm doing it helps communicate, right? So, um, any So, I'm going to run your name. Okay. Is uh, do you have a Illinois ID? >> Illinois. I don't have no ID on me. >> On you, that's fine. Yeah. As long as I can find you and I can confirm. They'll give me a picture and stuff like that. We'll confirm who you are. Any reason why that's not who you are? Would you Is that Is that your real name? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Just want to make sure cuz I I don't want to get cuz that could mean an extra charge and all that stuff and I don't want to do that. So, but I just wanted >> Great. Okay. >> I've been arrested. >> Okay. Okay. Hey, this could be a very very small road bump and you can get back to your What are you studying? What are you studying right now? >> Nursing. No, just no. Cuz I'm not a place and you don't want me. That's my whole point. >> This This whole situation is going to be reviewed. Okay. >> Okay. I'm going to put all this in. I'm going to give you your own room. Okay. We're going to go over this way. Before that, I got to have you kick your shoes off. I got to give you some slides. Okay. They don't like the the shoelaces. I got a blanket for you, too. Okay. Little big but okay. Is this for you? Okay, we're going to go around this way. Okay, I know this whole situation sucks. I really thank you for being polite and courteous with me, okay? Regardless of what happened. I know we didn't interact first, okay? But I I appreciate it, okay?
