I've been illegally detained multiple times when I'm a Greek citizen with NATO clearance. On this ride along, an officer makes a pretzel threat. >> Or you'll be tied up like a pretzel. Another laughs at the body cam. And a man takes off his seatbelt with style. On the morning of September 1st, a sheriff's deputy was operating moving radar on Highway 441 in Florida when he saw a speeding Kia Sportage in the opposite lane of travel. The officer made a U-turn, clocked the SUV going 72 in a 50 mph zone, and pulled the driver over. Hello. Deputy of the Sheriff's Office, the reason for the stop you were going 72 back there in the posted uh Oh, really? I've been tailed the whole way with people going a hundred. How does that sound? I don't know about that, sir. All right. Right. Sure. Am I free to go? I have FBI clearance, so Okay, do you have a driver's license? No, I don't. Okay. Well, I need some type of ID. No, you don't. >> Yes, I do. No, you don't. You don't have the right. What am I being stopped for? 72 in a posted 55. I'm a Greek citizen. You're a who? A Greek citizen. Okay. Yeah. Try that. Try Here's the Florida license. No, go ahead. Which one do you want? >> a Florida driver's license. >> Why? Why not this? This is an international driving license. >> Okay, and you have a Florida one. All right, take it. Can have it. Am I free to go? No, you're not. I need your registration and insurance information. >> have it. It's a rental. Okay, then show me some type of registration for the vehicle. I don't know where it is. I don't know why you're so upset with me. Think about it for a little bit. There's nothing I need to think about. Newbold Here. Is that good? No. I'm taking your Florida registration or you're going to be in stuff. >> I don't have a registration for a car I don't own. Okay. The officer would return to his patrol vehicle to run the man's license. But as he was doing that, he noticed the man putting on gloves and watching the officer in his mirror. Unsure of what the man was doing, and given his prior argumentative behavior, the officer decided to ask the man to exit his vehicle. 56, you need to step out of the vehicle. >> No. Step out. >> No. Step out of the vehicle. >> No. No, this is an illegal search and seizure. Yes, it is. >> No, it's not. Yes, it is. No, it's not. I'm going to give you one more chance or you're going to go to jail. >> Do you have a warrant? >> I'm letting you know now. Warrant. Search me. Step out of the vehicle. Search. No. Don't touch Jason I will tase you. Right there. What are you doing? I have an international driving license. What are you doing? I promise I'll be tased. All right, I'm good right now. Who is Jason? I have an FBI DCF clearance. Not illegal. Not illegal. Good luck this time. Have a seat. Oh, now you're getting nice. Now you're getting nice. >> Have a seat. Newbold number 160 Like car channel. I got one that's in there. Moments later, another officer would arrive on scene. I tell him I pull him over, 72 in a 55. Yeah. He said that wasn't me, he's being tailgated being a hundred. I'm looking at you the whole time. I tell him the reason for the stop, he's FBI, whatever. I get out. I see him throwing gloves on, so I'm like, okay, I don't know what you're doing, you're getting out. Cuz as I'm back there, he is gloving up. So, I don't know if he's got a gun. What is going on with you? I come up here, tell him to get out. No. I tell him to yank his ass out of there if he don't get out. He gets out. He comes right here. 3870, I'm out with 76 to me. He He's going to jail. There's nothing about it. He's going to jail. And he's claiming to be FBI? He said that he's FBI, quote unquote. Or quote unquote. So. The officers would go check on this claim. Hey man, what's going on? What's going on? >> Yeah. I've been illegally detained multiple times when I'm a Greek citizen with NATO clearance and and FBI DCF clearance. FBI clearance? So, what does that got Does anything to do with you speeding? 72 in a 45 when your officers were going a hundred past me. I'm an international citizen. You can't arrest me repeatedly. I'm a US and Greek citizen. Okay. So, what's that got to do with you doing 72 in a 45? >> Hit me with a speeding ticket, huh? Well, we will be doing that. >> All right, go ahead. He told you he was with the FBI? Yeah. I didn't say that. I said I have FBI DCF clearance. >> What does that mean to us? I Apparently, none of you know. >> means nothing. All right. The man is possibly referring to FBI and DCF criminal background checks. These checks are mandated by Florida law for jobs involving positions of trust, such as healthcare workers, teachers, and first responders, among others. The NATO clearance is possibly referring to someone who has been vetted and given access to classified information that belongs to NATO, but that's just a guess. Let us know in the comments if you think it's something else. Am I free to go? No. No. >> anywhere. What are you talking about? You're resisting. >> Right, because you threw me against the cruiser. >> Yeah, we're We're all done. Gone where? We're going Hey, put your leg in there. Don't you dare do that. Or you'll be tied up like a pretzel. DO YOU UNDERSTAND? >> DID THAT. NO, he's closed van transfers. Yeah. So. You can hold that. I need I don't know how to do anything else. You can hold this side right here. So, that happened. He was charged with resisting without violence and given a $1,000 bond. Court documents don't show that he ever posted bond, so he likely remained in jail until his plea agreement and sentencing 24 days later. He played no contest to the charge and was assessed court costs and fines totaling $1,523. He was also sentenced to 24 days in jail, which coincided with the time he already served, so he was credited for that and free to go. >> [music] >> Thanks for watching. See you on the next ride along. >> [music]
