A trooper spots [music] a black Subaru Legacy with no front plate drifting out of its lane. Ordinary [music] stop. Two minor violations. Then he runs the back plate [music] and the computer tells him something the driver does not know he knows. This same vehicle fled from [music] state police one week earlier. The driver has an active warrant. He initiates the stop anyway calmly like it is nothing. What happens next [music] takes three full minutes and almost nothing happens in it. >> Don't [ __ ] move. The Subaru hits two cruisers, backs into a gas pump, and [music] is gone. Police later confirmed no officers and no members of the public were injured. What follows is not a chase from a movie. Radio traffic, [music] a deflated rear tire, directions that contradict each other. Troopers stop a car and it is the wrong one. >> Open the door. Raming the car. She's running northbound. She is on foot in a residential neighborhood [music] and nobody knows which way she went. A resident points them behind the houses. Troopers ask people to stay inside. They are bringing a dog. She was charged with criminal attempt to assault a public safety officer. Firstdegree reckless endangerment. Three counts of criminal mischief. Two counts of interfering with an officer. Reckless driving. Engaging police in pursuit. Evading responsibility after a collision. possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, improper number of marker plates, and failure to maintain her lane. Bond was set at $500,000. Authorities said the decision to box the car [music] in at the gas station was based on her prior history of evading police. She is presumed [music] innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Three minutes at a car door, a gas pump, a dog, an ambulance. All of it started with a license plate that wasn't there.
