You never really >> I don't know what to tell you. I just No one's going to believe that. No one's going to believe it. No one is going to believe that you knew nothing. No one's going to believe especially with these text messages and the other stuff that we have. >> I know. Well, nobody believe me, but I ain't have nothing to do with it. And you dragged me down. You damn near basically used me, played with me, and toyed with me like Spoiler details are in the video description and the full results of all charges in the case are laid out at the end of the video. >> 2:06 in the morning, she she is shot and killed. >> Okay. >> So, in these text messages here, you specifically say, "Kill her. I want the [ __ ] dead. I'm going to pick my son up and I'm going to duck off." And then that's exactly how it happens. You arrive unannounced, you then go to Middletown, and at 2:06 in the morning, clear as day on on the uh on the 911 call, you hear the gunshots. You hear them and then this happens. >> Don't don't don't. Please don't. >> That's what happens. Please don't. Please do not. >> These grandmothers shot and killed. >> Please don't show me that. I don't want to see that. Please don't. >> Isa, you set this up. >> No, I didn't. >> And she's dead. >> No, I didn't. What do you want me to say? Cuz No, I did not. >> I know the truth. >> You have you avoided me. You have lied to me. And I had text messages where you have planned. >> Have a seat. [snorts] >> Tell me what happened. >> Okay. Yes. Me and Leslie, we got into it a lot of times. I said some things that I didn't mean. I did that all the time. I [clears throat] even did it when me and Jamal be arguing right in front of her. Like I used to always just lash out cuz, you know, I was getting abused and stuff. You know, that's how I was. I was around him. So, so yes, I would lash out. I would do all of that. I would never ever I wasn't even talking to Draco when I left him that night. No, no, no. Listen to me. >> What you did? >> You're not listening to me. >> Didn't tell me. I did not talk to Draco about any like when me when I left that night. When I left him that night, when I left him that night, it was because he was talking to us. >> Left who? What night? >> Okay. I Okay. I was staying with Draco at his sister house and we got into it because he was entertaining other females or whatever and I just really wanted to be his girlfriend. >> The the night that Leslie is killed. No, this was like a week or so before cuz >> I been okay, I left him because >> it was just like, okay, I'm staying at your sister house. Your sister want money from us to stay at her house and be quarantined together or whatever. I'm trying to fix our relationship, be with you and stuff like that. You don't want to be with me or whatever. So, I just had enough. I put my hands on him. We fought like, you know, actually literally fought put our hands on each other. So, I was just feeling like I just need to get away or whatever. And I just wanted to be with my brother. My brother said it was fine. He wanted to see his nephew anyway. And that's why I left. I stayed there for like two or three days. But the second day that I stayed there, that's when that happened. I was so weak. I was I couldn't even I didn't even believe it or nothing. Like I I didn't believe nothing. And what else? Okay. So after that happened, I didn't believe nothing. I couldn't believe it. I was just in shock. I couldn't move. I couldn't drive. I couldn't do nothing. So the next day I finally got the courage to go at least to the candle light or whatever cuz I wasn't going to go because I didn't know if I was invited. I just know more kn like I felt like Draco did it. So if they feeling if if they you know then then they probably you know would feel the same way. So I asked him and he told me no and I believed him. But then when you called me that one day and told me that he did cuz I remember me and my mom sat here with you >> and you said that we didn't you know he you know and it was just like okay. So you seeing that he didn't. So he said he didn't. I trust him and that's the only reason why I trust him all this time. I even continued talking to him, everything. Wrote him letters, everything. And it's not because, oh, I'm not a snitch or nothing like that. It's because I actually really did did love the hell out of Draco. Like, I really did. But I would never ever set her up, do nothing like that. And yes, those messages look bad, but my thing is I would never like I'm still in shock that you still sit here telling me that it's true that they even because all it looked like, you know, I used to be mad at them for for everything. Like I just felt like it wasn't I want you to realize you're not the first person to talk to me. All right. That's why it took seven months to even find these things. I was pointed in the right direction. [snorts] You know, you haven't even asked me what you're charged with right now. >> What am I charged with? So, at this very moment, you are charged with what's called complicity. Okay? Um, which carries the [snorts] same penalty to the crime that was committed in this particular case, aggravated murder. Okay? Aggravated murder. And that's just what you're charged with right now. Okay? So the this isn't just some little misdemeanor. Like I need you to understand >> I know >> you've got you've got to come off on some things because you have your son to think about. You have your son to think about because as of right now you you could possibly never see him out without bars between the two of you. So what are you I mean like >> I want to know what happened the truth because I do not believe that you have never had a conversation with Draco about this especially especially when I have two separate text message threads where you are saying I want the [ __ ] dead. >> I'm telling you I >> you give the address you say start with his mama. Okay you're pissed off. Great. That doesn't exalt. That doesn't make you innocent. >> Okay. >> All right. A lot of people do things when they're pissed off. But it h happened exactly how you talk about in these text messages. Like that's how it happened. You give the address. >> Definitely. >> You pick him up unannounced and roll with him. You pick him up on a Wednesday, which is completely out of character. It's And you talk about I'm I'm going to duck off. Wait till we're ducked off. You say all that. It is you saying that. >> Okay. So, what else am I or a jury? Like, it's there. Like, there's no This is all text. This is all electronic. This is all forever. There's no getting rid of it. So, she's threatening to take your child. I'm sorry. You get pissed at Leslie. I apologize. You get pissed at Leslie. She is threatening to take custody of your child. And you say, "Kill her. I want the [ __ ] dead." And you know what? She's dead. Her and Everett's 30th wedding anniversary was just Friday. Did you know that? Every single week, Everett calls me and cries because he misses his wife. Your son's grandmother's gone. >> Like, you got to give me something here. >> Okay. I'm trying because like I said, like I I know that this looked bad on me, but I don't like like I don't know if they did it or not. Like I don't know what their plan was. if if it was even one. I was kept out of it. He kept saying that he didn't want me being in the middle of it. So, it's just like >> in the middle of what? >> That's what I want to know. In the middle of what? Cuz yes, I understand all this looked wrong because of what I said. But then again, I didn't I didn't do like, you know, I know it looked wrong, but I didn't do nothing. I didn't do none of it. So, if if it was he kept me out of it because he didn't want me in the middle of it or I don't even [ __ ] know. Like if they really did do this. Okay, I You got to think because this is not I'm just talking about >> It's time to be an adult. You're You're almost 23 years old. It is time to be an adult. It is time to stop doing kids stuff. Like you have got you you got to start explaining. >> I'm trying to look. I promise you. >> Stop trying. Stop trying. Okay. Where do I start? >> You told me. >> Okay. I sent the messages. Yes, I was mad, but I only vent to him. Like, you know, that's supposed to be my best friend. I should be able to talk to him. Not knowing that they was really in a gang. Like, I really Hold on. Hold on. >> You knew they were in a gang. >> Let me talk. Please. Just let me let me just talk to be my friend right now. Not you know. >> Okay. So, I'm not knowing that they really in a gang or whatever. So, yes. Iowa, you [ __ ] up tremendously. I'm sorry. I'm just talking to myself. >> No, you say [ __ ] You can say whatever you want. You're not hurting my feelings. Just let me I'm just listening to you. >> Okay. >> So, okay. The only reason why I would believe it's true. Duh. [snorts] because of message. But like I want to know what the hate was or I'm trying to figure out like I'm trying to figure out. I'm trying to figure out figure out something. It's something cuz they felt sneaky and I'm a little >> You know the gun parts you bought were for the gun that killed her? >> And look, I didn't even know that. So my thing is I'm getting dragged along in this because [snorts] I'm vulnerable and stupid and just want somebody to love me. So >> you got to stop playing >> I'm talking to myself. >> Literally [clears throat] like I'm speechless right now. Like I'm very speechless. Like >> you want some water or anything? >> I do. Like I >> Let me get you some water and I want you to sink. >> But please don't leave. Like don't leave for that long. I need you to sit in here with me like you sit in here with me. >> I am I will be I'm gonna go get you some water. I'll be right back. >> Okay. >> All right. >> Cuz what the [ __ ] >> There you go. >> Okay. Okay. I'm starting to think. >> Well, here before you start talking, I just want you to I want you to understand a few things. All right. The reason we're here at this point is you're not the last person to be arrested. I'm sorry. You are the last person to be arrested and the last person at this table. Two other people been talking. That's why we're here. Okay. That is why we're here. He's not your best friend. >> I'm I'm sitting here thinking it. >> He's not your best friend. >> It It is It is time. It is time to think about you and your son. But how would I do all of that without putting myself in the middle of it? >> Well, you are in the middle of it. >> I know. I know. But I'm saying like obviously what it's looking like to me because look, I'm trying to tell you >> because you're going to look like a jury as a pissed-off daughter-in-law who had her mother-in-law murdered. >> I know. And I don't want to be cuz I'm not and I know. >> So, you need to explain. I'm okay. As I'm looking at these messages and reading, the whole thing that I can the whole time I can think in my head, he never got over the to me cuz I remember I stopped trying to be his friend after that because just like I didn't want to bring you no more drama, you know? I didn't want to they everybody kept telling me even his family and them was telling me like no, I'd be dead wrong if I did that. Blas blas and yeah so it's just like he never got over the fact soon as I stopped [ __ ] with you or stop entertaining you and your life or whatever the [ __ ] it was you switched up on me. That's why I got from this cuz my thing is I would never like he know I wouldn't either but then again you got all this proof so you wouldn't even know. No one is going to believe that you had nothing to do with this. >> I know. >> That's what I'm saying. So, I'm trying to figure out a way to >> Stop trying to figure out a way. Listen to me. Stop trying to figure out a way and tell the truth. So, just listen to me. All right? Because right now, how this whole thing is going to play to a jury is you're sitting here trying to come up with ways to get yourself out of trouble. Okay? And your best bet right now is to tell the truth concerning Draco and Lucky and actually tell what happened because you you're in a situation where like I said earlier without bars between you never hug him again, never kiss him again. and his grandparents or Jamal is going to be the person that raises him. And Jamal is a piece of [ __ ] himself. You want him raising your son, he's going to grow up just like his dad because it's only a matter of time before Jamal gets in some type of I mean So they were there for both of them because you say start with his mama. Start with his mama. Meaning Jamal too and then he says basically just put a check on his head. It's like Draco says to Lucky that you put a check on his head. money because not saying you did pay, but I'm just telling you what text messages say. So, it's time to start saying, "Well, maybe I No, they did it." So, it's time for you to come off of it because why? Let me ask you, if you're not a snitch, why do you, if you don't know anything, why are you telling your best friend I'm not a snitch? >> Because herself because she knew about the situation. She was about to tell me. >> What is What is you being a >> You're not listening to what I'm trying to say. Please. >> All right, finish up. >> And they was Okay, cuz I tell me. She told me that um they was basically lying to me. Like when I called Draco that night and he told me he was at Lucky House, he wasn't at Ly's house. And you had confirmed that. And last time, what else she say? She said, "Okay, when we was at her house, she was outside. She was on drugs." Say she was on drugs, but she was trying to tell me something. Like she was trying to tell me something. And I've deep down inside just felt like it has something to do with my baby daddy's mom. Now, I'm not gonna lie. I was trying to do a little bit of investigation so I would know the truth or whatever, but it just like I kept getting swung back in circles. So, I don't know. I mean, so I didn't know cuz I'm trying to clear my name cuz I didn't do it or have nothing to do with it. And >> all this that's different. This is Like there's nothing to refute. >> There's nothing to refute it. >> I know. But my thing is I don't have like smack and dead evidence that I know for a fact. This is all of what I know, what I put together from what you told me and from what I know. >> So [clears throat] you are Draco is your best friend. I mean you guys call each other that. He's your best friend. Draco's your best friend. You're so close. You're so tight. You were dating at one point, then you're not dating. You know, he's like a father. You know, I remember the first time you came up, he was out there entire time. You know, you guys are so close. So close. I can't believe that you guys never had a conversation about it. I just and no jury is going to believe that you know nothing about it. Especially with all of this like I've talked to Lucky. Lucky came off on it. Lucky admitted that he's the one that shot and killed her. He and Draco went there because you gave him the address. >> Hold him. Hold him. like we they're they're done. They're done. Ly's getting a plea deal. He's getting a plea deal. But, you know, honesty is what has to come out of you right now because I don't believe you're being completely honest with me. I believe you're giving me bits of truth, but not 100% truth. I've been doing this too long. I know when people are lying to me and when here's actually one of the biggest biggest things. So you came up here the first time you guys called me. Cool. Want to clear your name. I get it. Okay. Trying to get in front of things. Second time I >> told me to do that. >> The second time I call you, you're nervous as hell to come up here. You're scared. You're scared. Well, why does why do I need to come up there? Well, if you didn't do anything, why the [ __ ] are you scared? >> You bring your mom up here with you. >> I don't like >> Then the se then the third time you're petrified. You had me talk to your dad. You're almost 23 years old and you're having me talk to your dad. Okay, I did that out of courtesy for you. Okay, you weren't even a suspect at that point. At all three of those, you were never a suspect in my book. Okay, I legitimately thought you had anything to do with it. I was proven wrong. So then the fourth time I call you because I actually want to understand all this, you you refuse because you want to put it behind you. Well, it's hard to put something behind you when it's your child's grandmother that was murdered with information that you gave. You set it up. You were so pissed. You were so pissed at her that you set it up. You wanted her dead. I want that [ __ ] dead. Kill her. You say it. No one else said it. You said it. You bought gun parts for the gun that was used to kill her. A Taurus G2C. You bought the laser for it. It says Taurus G2C. You bought that laser on your Amazon account for the person who killed Leslie Lawson. >> So, it is time >> to stop pussyfooting around and you need to tell the truth. You need to tell the truth, Isla. Stop protecting Kerwin. Stop protecting Lucky. It's time to come out with it. Do you understand me? >> I'm understanding. >> Okay. Tell me what happened. >> The truth. >> Okay. Tell you what happened when. Like what day? Like how it all started. >> What happened the night that she was murdered? >> Well, I I don't know like what they did or this all this is all I know. >> Tell me what you know. >> Okay. All I know is um they said well I ain't going to say they said all this is what I know. This is what I heard that Draco was the driver and and Lucky was the shooter. They said that Lucky was uh made up a story talk about him and his mom got in a car accident and that they was hurt and Leslie was vulnerable and stuff. She opened up the door and that's when she saw the gun or whatever and she started fighting him and trying to get him being that she was, you know, probably beating him up and stuff. He had no choice but to pull out the gun >> with the shooter. Hold on, hold on, hold on. >> I want to talk about that part. I want to talk about So, hold your thought and I I want to talk about that specific part. Okay. So in our initial interview, you said in our very first interview, okay, very when you guys came up here, you and Kin both came up here. I didn't catch at the time, but ever after going through your interview again, you specifically started talking about I heard that she fought with him. Okay. But then you must have realized that's too much information because how would I know that? Because I don't know anything about how she got killed. Okay? Because no one witnessed it. >> Jamal didn't witness it. Everett didn't witness it. No one saw her get shot. You hear it on the 911 call. Okay? Pop pop pop. You hear that? You're going to say, "Ever pop." Three gunshots. Okay. No one witnessed it though. So, who told you that she fought with him? Stop saying they. Give me a name. Who told you? How did you know that information? Because I didn't give it to you. >> Okay. I was I thought you did. If you didn't, I just assumed because she's in the army or she was. >> You specifically said in our initial interview, you said >> I said it. I'm assuming. This is me assuming. But you say, "I was told." That's what you say in your in your initial interview. If you want, I can go get my computer and bring it up here and have watch. >> But you say, "I was told that she fought them off." And then you cut yourself off. >> You stop talking. >> I mean, because everybody was saying stuff to me, putting stuff in my ear. I was talking to Everett. I was talking to Jamal. I was talking I wasn't even talking to Drake cuz he was avoiding me for some reason. But >> Well, why do you think he'd be avoiding you? Well, I thought it was because his dad died or, you know, he just wasn't into me. But now that I'm look now, look, >> his dad wasn't even dead yet. >> Look, this is this is two days after she's killed. This is the Sunday after. So, she died on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. It's three days. Third day after after she's killed. So, this is Sunday. This is a Sunday when you and I talk. So, Sunday, second, third, fourth. Sunday, uh, April 5th is when me, you, and Kerwin talked. Okay. So the candle light hadn't even happened yet, I don't believe. >> Yeah, we me when we me and you talked the candle light had already >> Okay. The candle light had happened at that point >> cuz that's when they had told me and that's what made me like okay well I get in touch with him. >> I remember talking to you about it with your mom but about being jumped and everything. >> Candle light happened on a Friday or Saturday the day before. So, we hadn't spoken yet and you you said they told me that she fought back. Which leads me to believe that at this point you've had a conversation with Lucky or Draco with somebody at this point who has told you what happened. I remember the last time I haven't talked to Lucky and only way I could talk to Draco is if he called me. But you know, so the only people I've been talking to is Everett. And he's telling me he's telling me certain stuff. Like he's telling me certain stuff or telling me whatever you y'all talk about and then he'll tell me. Yeah. So that's why cuz that's when I heard the story. Then I heard it from my baby daddy too. But he just kept saying he get Okay. All right. I'm trying to figure out. >> So, going with your story. You said you heard you were told and you don't you don't remember who told you that. Who you had a conversation with that told you that they fought her. She fought him off or tried to fight him off. >> I know that. Yeah. One of them had to tell me it was either Jasmine or Everett that told me that. And you know them putting your story together. That's how I Okay. So, when you told me your story, what I got from it was um Okay. So, when I had Okay. after all this had happened when I got jumped at the candle light everything fact she was trying to tell me something but then she wow so baby do okay I need proof I know you got to What? What? What? Something something. Okay. Okay. The last conversation we had. He he wanted the when he called me and told me that you was going to be on my ass warning me. He knew something and he trying to fake protect me, but he also want me to protect him. So that right there is to let you know, okay, he did it, but it's just like you think, okay, after I had heard the story, disbelief, I didn't want to, you know, I was just scared. I was scared and I did feel like my baby daddy and it was going to kill me or try to kill me or hurt me or whatever. That's why I was so much around Draco. But like every day it was like he was distant. He was really not himself. And I knew all along that he wasn't himself. If they did do it, they had to do it because he was still hurt and broken up like hurt and saw about this car. And I kept telling him like, "You worried about that car? That's materialistic things, you know. I help you get another one. You know, we just got to He got another one. Let's help him with that car. I helped with [clears throat] every like what the like what I need or something that just stands out. I was told. I just know that. >> I think you're a part of this world. this world where you know I you talk to it's like a total of three different guys in the JC right now and they're all up for murder. Okay. Three of them. Like you're a part of this world where it's it I don't get it. I don't understand it. Okay. Um, but the police don't just go around indiscriminately charging people with murder. Okay. >> All right. I don't understand what's appealing about that lifestyle. What's appealing about these guys that uh, you know, you talk to and all that. All three [snorts] of them in there for murder. blows blows my mind. Like I don't get like why that would be appealing. Okay, >> but it again you're you're it just shows me that you're >> My thing is >> neck deep in this stuff and you're just not willing to come off of it. >> My thing is I'm not protecting nobody. What do you want me to say? You want me to say they did it? I want you to tell me truthfully what you know. >> I'm telling you truthfully what I know >> because you are too worried about protecting these people. >> I'm not I don't care about protecting them no more. Do you see what that looked like? They pulling me. >> You just told him you loved him the other day. Every time he talked to him, he told me you love him. You're my best friend. I love you. You're my best friend. I love you. I ain't no snitch. I'm telling you that I didn't have no like okay would I was saying in those messages okay yes I did say them cuz I was mad out of anger I've never sat down and had a conversation with them planned anything out nothing like that so my thing is if they did this even I know you saying you know I'm just talking if they did this they kept me out of it like they didn't tell me nothing so the only information that I know is from what you told me and from something. It's people's reactions and stuff that makes me think like cuz I would sit and just be thinking like how could they have done this if you told me that Lucky the one who did it. Draco was the one. Okay, I probably say it's I said it was true. It could have been true something stupid like that. But my thing is I wouldn't do nothing stupid like that. So it's like, okay, yeah, they probably could have did it and then they had every motive. Draco said he in love with me and love me and he was just tired of seeing me hurt and, you know, venting and saying [ __ ] like that, the [ __ ] I was saying or whatever. Maybe. But then again, I'm not knowing how to tell you what you want to hear. Like, I'm telling you the truth. Honest to God, I don't know what to tell you to where like you know for sure that I'm telling the truth. Like I'm I'm sitting here stuck literally trying to help you out even figure out the case. >> You know, well, there's nothing for you to figure out. Okay. I know what happened. I know without a shadow of a doubt what happened. There's nothing for you're not the investigator here. Okay. >> You are now a defendant in the case. All right. There's nothing to figure out because I'm telling you right now, you figuring stuff out, it just makes it look like you're trying to come up with another lie. >> I'm not. But I'm not coming I'm trying to I'm trying to figure out things for better understanding for myself. That way I would know for sure exactly what to say as far as to tell you what you >> you set up the murder. You set it up. You gave them the address. You told him to start with Leslie. >> And you said that this was the night before that happened. >> This is This happens February. >> Whose phone is that? >> That is Draco's phone. >> Draco don't have a phone. So >> he did have a phone. >> He did. His phone is off. He was using a hot spot. My hotspot. Okay. So I'm >> His phone was off. He's using a hotspot. You can still text through the hotspot if you're using a hotspot. So he set this to Lucky. All right. This other one is a is a thread between him and Lucky Draco. That's his phone number. Okay. It's all through iMessage. It's all iPhone. So, all you need is internet to text. You don't have to have cellular service. So, he's on Wi-Fi. He's on a hot spot somewhere. You sent that to him. I said that I did. I was mad. I was angry. >> Yeah, but you ju but you but you just tried to justify No, maybe I didn't because he didn't have a phone. You just tried to You just tried to You just tried to say that. >> You told me that that message was uh be like a couple months. I mean, yeah, a month before she passed. >> February 3rd. The other ones were in March. Like you you murders can take long to plan. >> Oh, so you think we planned it? I know you planned it. That's exactly what this all this says. >> Okay, rewind back. I'm not, you know, wasting your time, are you? >> No, you're fine. >> I I need to sit in here and talk to you. >> Talk away. >> Cuz I need to get to the bottom of this, too, because I'm going to clear my name. >> Okay. >> All right. Just for clarification, I'm going to ask you some questions. All right. Did you send these text messages? >> Yes. >> Okay. All right. Did you order the gun parts? >> I ordered the laser. Yes. >> The laser. Okay. Um, did you say that you were not a snitch on the jail call? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Can I tell you why I said that? >> Yep. Go for it. >> Okay. Okay. So, you know the article that was going around talking about it was anonymous tipper or whatever. >> Mhm. >> That's why everybody like from my baby daddy's side, from Draco's side, all was saying that I was a snitch and this that and the third and I kept saying, "Well, the truth will come out because I ain't say nothing. I don't know nothing." >> And that's how all that started. >> So, why would you need to say that you were not a snitch? You were not the anonymous tipper if you didn't know anything. >> I did. What you need? >> Why would you need to Why would you need to clarify that you're not going to snitch if you got nothing to snitch on? >> I don't have nothing to snitch. I wasn't clarifying that I was saying that I'm not the snitch. Like my I don't know nothing. So my >> So why would you need to Why would you need >> calling me a snitch and my thing is I don't know. >> This was a conversation to to Draco. >> You told Draco you weren't a snitch. Why would you need to reinforce to him that you're not a snitch if you don't know anything? Do you understand the logic there? You're telling him that you're not going to snitch on him, but how could you snitch if you're sitting here telling me that you don't know anything? >> I could have told him that I was not going to snitch on him because I didn't know nothing. I was clearing it up, telling him like, you know, I was talking to him about it like everybody keep thinking I'm a snitch this, that, and the third. And my thing is, how am I going to snitch on something that I don't know nothing about? >> That isn't what you said, though. that you're you're changing your words right now. >> I'm telling you what I'm thinking. I'm telling you how I'm thinking when I say that. >> You're very intelligent, I love because you're very good at reframing what you're saying. >> Okay. You're pretty good at it. All right. You're very good at catching yourself. >> This is not going to play well in the courts. This isn't for someone who is sitting and facing life imprisonment. You don't even seem all that worried about it. >> I am worried. I'm very terrified because my thing is I would do anything to make my name go free from this whole case. And you know that since day one. >> Okay. >> I think that you will protect the gang. You will protect Draco and Lucky. I'm not in no gang. >> You I didn't say you're in a gang. I didn't say you're in a gang. Okay. But you were like this with Draco. And he is in the gang. He is in the gang. He was, you know, ahead of Lucky. Lucky needed permission from him to go forward. There was pre-planning and design in Leslie Lawson's murder. There were also other conversations outside of these text messages that occurred. >> Do you think that this is all I have? This is just all I'm telling you about. >> I'm trying to think of something. >> Stop trying to think. >> I'm trying to think of a conversation that me and Draco had. I'm trying to think. Look, this is not something that you forget, okay? This is April 2nd, 2020 at 2:06 a.m. is not something that just I'm not sure what the hell did happen that day. It because it's just like, you know, you were a baby when it happened, but it's like 9/11 for me. I know exactly where I was and what happened and who I was with when the Twin Towers were hit because it it li lives in infamy. You were just a few years old. Maybe you do remember something, maybe you don't. That's the same thing when >> your child's grandmother, your baby daddy's mom is murdered, shot in the doorway of her home. like it. There's no thinking about it. You know what happened. >> You know who you talk to. You know what conversations have happened. Because when you sit here and tell me, "Let me think of let me try to think of something." You know what that You know what that tells me? That means let me think of how I'm going to lie my way out of this. That is what that tells me. And that is what is going to tell a jury. You are very intelligent, Isa. You're not stupid. So, if you're sitting on a jury and you see someone talking, you see a defendant talking and they're saying, "Well, I don't know. Let me think about it. I'm trying to it's hard for me to remember what happened." They're going to say, "Bullshit." They are not going to believe a damn word that that person, that defendant is saying because it is burned into the recesses of our mind. Everyone who's involved in this, I know this case like the back of my hand is all I have done since April 2nd. Since I got the call on the early hours of April 2nd, I know exactly what has occurred. I know who did what. I know who's involved and I'm not I'm never going to forget it. So you are intimately involved in this. She was someone who is in your life. Whether you meant to have it done or not, this shows that you did. Whether you were angry and you were just spouting off and you were just venting, she is still dead. She is dead by the people that you vented to. And I don't believe and no one else is going to believe that you never discussed it with them after the fact because you even told them to get rid of evidence. You told them to delete what's on their phone. >> Yes. Because somebody told me to tell them somebody was telling me to delete [ __ ] off my phone. >> Who was telling you to do that? Who was telling you to delete stuff off your phone? Of course, Grace. Everybody, all of them. They all >> Why would you need to delete anything off your phone? >> Because me and Draco used to share phones. >> Probably that the [ __ ] that I was And out of anger, they didn't want nothing getting traced back to them. >> They were telling me not to talk to people. >> Who's they? >> I was told not to. >> Who's telling you this stuff? Stop using pronouns. Use actual names. Who told you these things? You know the answer. So, stop trying to think about it. Act like you're trying to think. Who told you? >> My best friend. >> And who's your best friend? >> Who? [snorts] >> Draco. >> What ought Draco tell you? I that's like okay I know that they had to he was just telling me to delete our messages like he didn't want to talk to me. [snorts] >> He didn't [clears throat] want to talk to me more when after she was done or before? >> After after the fact. Like Okay. So the last [snorts] night that we was together we got into a big argument and like before when He basically was telling me like, you know, he'll hurt he'll hurt all of us if I was to [ __ ] my baby daddy again. >> Who would hurt all of you? Who Who said that to you? I need you to use names. >> Use his name. Nickname's fine. I want to know exactly who you're talking about. Draco said he was going to hurt you. I love you. Is that what you said? >> Yeah. But then I started getting threats from his other friends and family from Lincoln Heights. >> And when was this happening? After she was dead or before? >> After. >> And you were getting threats. Why were you getting threats? because people was lying and saying that um I had gave my baby daddy somebody's address to have them hold her her kids hostage. They was saying that I was a snitch. They were saying this, they were saying that. They were just saying a whole bunch of stuff. And yes, it was scaring me to the point to where [snorts] he knew my location. He knew I was at. He the only person that well him and my parents knew who I was with like who actually was there for me helping me taking care of me like trying to help me get back on my feet for my son's sake I really had a true friend there for me picking me up throughout this whole situation cuz although yeah look back I really didn't have nothing I don't know so yeah and I was getting threats I was scared for my life people was trying to hurt me I was always looking over my shoulder wondering who was gonna hurt me, shoot me, kill me. My son got threats and [ __ ] I'm sorry. They was >> You can cuss. It's not a problem. >> My baby. So, yes, I was scared. And that's another reason why I said if I know anything, if I find out anything, I wasn't going to say nothing. But even though I didn't, I only know for what you told me and put stuff together myself because, you know, like you said, I'm not stupid. I think and I use my brain because at the end of the day, this got me in a [ __ ] up position just off of the words I was saying whether I did it or not. And I know that. And yes, I am scared for my life. And no, I don't want nothing happen to my child. I don't even want I don't want my child getting taken from me. Nothing. I cannot lose that little boy. He's everything to me. And I'm trying my best to be the best person I can. Stay away from people like that for him. That's another reason why I didn't want to talk to you because I didn't want to be in the middle of it. Not knowing that I'm in the middle of it. I promise you. [snorts] So I understand. Because you're scared for your life. >> I am. >> And who who are you who are you afraid would hurt hurt you? >> My baby daddy will hurt me. He recent well not recently this year but like the last last year before the new year started like [snorts] he used to he had hit me one day and he had held a gun up to my head. the people that you know cool with my Draco and stuff, they don't like me. They, you know, so yeah, it's hard. I haven't been out for real for yesterday. Was the first time that I went out in a long time and I actually had fun. Didn't look over my shoulder or nothing. [snorts] >> So, yeah, I ain't have nothing to do with the planet. I promise I didn't. Yeah, I know it looked like it, but off of what you tell and everything that's going through my head right now. >> [snorts] >> So, just to recap, just so I understand everything >> after she was killed, >> I started doing threats and I was scared. >> But you said Draco told you to erase stuff off your phone. Is that what you said? Okay. Did he tell you specifically what to erase off your phone? >> And I didn't erase. So, you got my phone. I [snorts] didn't erase nothing because I didn't erase nothing because I was trying to put it together myself and then when I was hearing that he was getting out of jail and stuff, I was going to sit down and have a conversation with him and make him confess to me or something. And if he would have confessed and said that he did, I would have stopped talking to him. But I couldn't I couldn't believe it cuz you know they say detectives play with your mind and things like that. >> What's [snorts] your passcode to your phone? >> It's my son's birthday. No. So, what am I going to find in your phone? >> I'm not even trying to be disrespectful or nothing. Going to find a whole bunch of nudes and [ __ ] a whole bunch of nasty and probably mean things to other people. I mean, I do check on his little brothers and stuff to make sure they could >> What kind of conversations am I going to see reference her homicide around her murder? Um, to be honest, I just hope nothing bad cuz I I don't like talking about it. Like, >> I had to pick myself back up and go through that grieving by myself. And yes, it hurt. I know what I said in those messages, but that's not how I really feel. That's not the type of person I am. And it hurt. The night she was killed, did you know they were going to do it? >> I promise to God I did not know. >> After she was killed, did Draco ever admit to you that he was involved? >> No. He >> Did Lucky admit to you? >> No. >> Did anyone tell you? >> Tell me. I feel like I don't know. >> Unfortunately, that that I can't corroborate that. You know why? Because she put a [ __ ] bullet through her head. So, I have no idea. You know, that's very convenient. Unfortunately. >> No, I know. >> But all I know is I was told to delete stuff and >> you were told to delete stuff by Draco, correct? So, and that's something you said a few minutes ago, right? You said that he told you to delete stuff. Then why would you turn around and tell him to delete stuff? >> It was just a reaction. It really was. Cuz I really did cuz at first I did believe that he had something to do with it and I didn't want nothing to happen to him, you know, cuz that is my best friend. Well, it's because they assumed like they just jumped to a conclusion and assumed and you know, basically >> was a good assumption. Yeah, it really was. And I should have listened, but yeah. All right. I'm going to check on something. I will be right back. Okay. Drink some water. Um, well, what I'd like to discuss with you now is a phone call that occurred between you and Draco uh in the early morning hours um about an hour after she was killed. Do you remember that phone call? [clears throat] >> Um, what what did you guys talk about in that call? I asked him, "Did he do it?" He said, "No." And I told him, "Well, they suspect you or whatever." Or no, I asked him, "Did he do it?" He asked me, "Did they sus suspect him?" And I didn't know. Mhm. Or whatever. But I did, you know, tell them like, you know, if they did to delete it, but that was just an instant thinking. They should never even said that. >> So, you told them on the phone if they did do it to delete stuff off their phone. Is that what you just said? No, I was seeing it because I knew that [ __ ] I'm sorry the police are going to if the police accused them and thought of anything they would have they would have took the phone away. >> Yeah. >> But I don't know. I just I just >> Why would you Why would you want to protect him if he just >> know like I was in shock. It was just in shock. So, after he told you he didn't do it, did you think he did it? >> Did you still think he did it? >> Yeah. I basically was just trying to like play it off. >> What was his attitude? >> I mean, he was calm. I mean, he was calm. He was laughing like like he was drunk. He told me he was drunk. [clears throat] Okay. you know, at this point, I'm not, you know, I'm not trying to get you to admit that you planned anything or anything like that. What I can't not believe is that you and Draco after the fact never had a conversation concerning her death and how she died and what his role was in that death. I haven't because for one I don't I don't I don't want him to feel like you know I'm I ain't gonna say on to him or whatever cuz you know I even told my mom and if I find out that he really did do it's slow it's curtains for him but being that you know you my mom came here with me and you told us that. So, it was just like I did want to fight and believe that um you know he didn't have nothing to do with it but after today and thinking and it's just like okay well there's no way around it that you didn't and then you brought me down too and you know I'm going to speak on what I know on my behalf because I ain't have nothing to do with it and you dragged me down. you damn near basically used me, played with me, and toyed with me. Like, and he already knew I was broke cuz I was damn near spending all my money trying to make sure he wasn't living in the streets [music] and stuff like that. So, I don't know. I'm just I just feel like I just didn't play it. Like, >> how long was that phone call? >> I don't even remember. I know it wasn't that long, though. So, I know we didn't stay on the phone for hours, but the only reason I was thinking like he told me like if I was to ever [ __ ] with my baby daddy again, um if I was to ever [ __ ] with my baby daddy again, that he was going to hurt both of us, me and my baby daddy. And the night that I stopped [ __ ] with him when I went to Middletown. The reason why I went to Middletown or whatever because um he found something in my phone or whatever that made it look like I was [ __ ] with my baby daddy on New Year's and he got really mad and you know we was putting our hands on each other and you know I don't I didn't. >> So the night you went to Middletown you and Draco got in a fight. a really big fight and that's probably the only thing like I could think about that would even be his motive and even make him mad enough to even do no stupid [ __ ] like that. Like he just kept holding grudges. I kept telling everybody like he's not himself. I know my best friend. He not himself. >> So the night you went, which is Wednesday, which is actually the night before, uh which is the evening leading up to her murder. you got in a physical altercation with with Draco and then um and then you left um is that when you Yeah. I just needed some time and I'm always, you know, worried about my baby. of course. >> So during this phys physical altercation with this fight that you're having with Draco, um what statements did he make concerning Leslie or Jamal during this fight? >> He didn't make none. Like we really got into it really bad. Like messed up his sister's house fought really bad and I just grabbed my stuff and I lit up. So there is a fight that ultimately a physical fight between you and him that ultimately you is concerning Jamal. It's about Jamal cuz he thinks you're [ __ ] with Jamal. >> Mhm. >> So that is the reason for the fight and he makes no statements concerning >> none at all. I just I had left. I went to my house. >> Oh wow. Like I just kept saying I need to be around my family. You need to be around your family. I need to be around mine. >> So he holds grudges uh unnaturally. You know, he's he's always holding grudges and he's got this grudge against Jamal. >> He's got anger issues. >> He's got anger issues. Okay. He has anger issues. >> Mhm. >> And he's pissed about Jamal. And this physical fight is about Jamal and he doesn't make any statements about what he's going to do Jamal or anything like that. >> But it happens to be >> a couple hours. I mean it's a couple hours couple hours before because you got Wednesday, April 1st. the evening of Wednesday, April 1st. She died at 2 am April 2nd. Thursday, April 2nd. So, just a few hours. >> Okay. >> So, this fight happens just a few hours before um a few hours before Leslie's killed. So, basically, you're you're explaining motive right now. He finds out that you're [ __ ] or at least it appears to be you're [ __ ] around Jamal. And then so you have this big fight, physical fight with Kerwin, a couple hours before Leslie's dead, she turns up dead, right after you had a fight that revolves around Jamal and You never had a conversation after the fact. Like >> you never >> I don't know what to tell you. I just No one's going to believe that. No one's going to believe it. No one is going to believe that you knew nothing. No one's going to believe especially with these text messages and the other stuff that we have. >> I I don't want nobody to believe me. But I mean, like, I'm not about to lie and say, "Oh, conversation. I don't want you to lie." >> He told me that this, you know, this is the truth. This is what I honestly truly know. >> And yes, the last night that we did, you know, before Leslie passed, we did argue about your mom. He was going through my phone, I think, or or he been thinking about it. He just felt some type of way. I don't know if he went through my phone or if he been thinking about it. He th away really bad and I just basically saying I'm not about to let nobody else keep putting me on. >> Why'd you go to your brothers and not your parents? >> Well, my mom um she got my like basically it wasn't no room for me to stay there. Then I got a child so that's doing too much. That's doing too much. You know, I should have >> Are your mom and dad married? >> Okay. >> I should have went back home, but I didn't. I just I don't know. Sometimes when my dad be working too much and stuff. I don't like being by myself. And I don't know. My brother, he lived by himself and I actually just wanted to be around my brother. Like I ain't never get to, you know, spend much time with my brother after he moved. I rarely get to see him. So when he doing by I do every chance I get try to go. >> Okay. Well, >> you got anything else for me? I'm trying to think of some something else that just was out of the blue, out of the ordinary. >> Let's go in here. [clears throat] >> Iana Liry was originally charged with complicity to aggravated murder, later elevated by grand jury to include aggravated murder and murder in connection with the 2020 Hamilton County, Ohio case.
