Hey, so she got into a domestic over there at that at Cane Mini Storage, whichever that is. I don't know the exact address, but it's at pawn shop thing. What she told me is they got into it. They're going to go through a divorce. She's basically leaving today, and he was like, "Oh, so we're just done?" He grabs her clothes, runs into the safe, at one point grabs the keys from her hand, which slices her finger open. I don't know if it's still there, but I got photos of it. She's got hand marks across her arms, both of her arms. Um so she said that there's video of it there, but she said he guaranteed you that he's already deleted it, so from the security system. So >> Is he owner or what or something? >> Yeah, they both are. Um they're both owners. >> He put her in a safe? >> That's what Yeah. Yeah. Uh well, I should say into a safe, not like >> Yeah, okay. Okay. >> Her back, I I didn't look at her back, uh but I didn't They didn't see anything on her back, but like I said, there are red marks across her arms. Her finger is sliced open. Um she To be honest, I don't I don't know if y'all know them or not, but she's worried that everybody knows him and is >> What's Do you know his name? >> Yeah, Danny. I can't remember his last name right now. Um >> That just sounds familiar. >> Danny Shirley. They just got broken into a couple weeks ago. >> That's the >> Danny Shirley, Laurel Shirley. >> Is she uh where's she at? >> She's in They're in here. >> I'll grab the camera real quick. >> Hi. >> Hello. >> How's it going? >> It's going. So, what's what's going on? >> Um Danny and I this morning Shall we sit down? Do you want to or do you care? >> I'll stand. >> Okay. Um we're getting a divorce, and we're at the very end of it. And uh we were supposed to go to court this morning. He had put me in contempt of court for uh not signing the papers. >> So >> Hi, guys. >> So, they're just catching you up real quick. They're going obviously through the divorce is what he was saying. They're at the very end. They were supposed to go to court today, but the county office is being closed. >> They we didn't. So, anyway, what happened is yesterday we were trying to go through and there were a handful of things that we were supposed to divide, okay? And uh he opened all the safes at the shop. We have a pawn shop out here in Colorado. Okay. And he opened all the safes for me to look at. And so, everything was fine last night. He opened the safe here. I got my little jewelry out. And this morning he we wake up and he says to me, "So, we're finished, right?" I said, "Not completely." I said, "I don't have the I don't have the silver yet." He said, "It's in my truck." He said, "We're finished." I said, "We're not completely finished, Dan." And uh anyway, um he starts engaging becoming aggressive or what's the word I'm trying to use? >> He just started to escalate. >> Yeah, escalate. That's the word I'm trying to >> to escalate and he went and got her purse. >> you there? >> No, I'm going to let you know. He went and >> No, I'm I'm just wondering if you were there as a witness if you saw anything or >> There was no witness. >> Okay. >> Um so, I I got in the shower and I got in the shower. We have two head shower. He got He gets in there to take a shower with me and he says, "You know, all This is what he always says to me. Everything would have been fine if you just talked to me." And I said, "I know. You've always said that." And so, that's his where his anger is. So, anyway, I start to get out of the shower. He said, "You're not getting out of the shower." And he slammed the shower door shut. And then I pushed it open and I got out and I started drying off and he he becomes more angry and more angry. He gets out and he's like, "You're leaving today." He said, "You're leaving today." I said, "Okay, I'm leaving today." And um I start getting ready. And um he gets my purse. He wants my keys. He wants my keys to the house. He wants my keys to the shop, where we work, everything. And they weren't in there and he's just frantically searching everywhere for my keys. And um So, he pushes me here at the house. And um I turn my phone on video. And um I mean, he was kind of ranting and raving and Anyway, uh he goes to the shop. I go to the shop. I get there before him. I unlock [clears throat] the gate, unlock the door to and go in. And he he comes to me right behind me, says, "Give me your keys." I said, "These are my keys." And he said, "Give them to me." And he twisted them out of my hand and he cuts my finger a little bit, twists my finger. And um So, I go back in my office and I'm getting all my work that I need to do. And um he comes in there and he says, "Get out." And I had gotten some checks because I was going to write some checks on um some bills that I had that were on my desk that I put in a box that were in my truck and uh I go back to get a box. Well, he's put because we got robbed, he's put um new locks and it it's like a fortress out there now. And I go to get a box and he pushes me down and uh he grabs my scarf and yanks it off of me and he said, "Give me your keys and get out. Do not come back." And then he's I go to my desk and he starts pushing me. He grabs me by my arms and I get over underneath one of the cameras that I I knew everything would be on, which I'm sure is already erased. And he >> [clears throat] >> uh Anyway, he threw me against the safe and threw me down on the ground. And then I just got my stuff and left, twisted my knee. I'm having knee surgery at the beginning of next month and my knee twisted. And So, anyway, uh That is that. >> So, all this all this occurred at the storage unit, or did you go from the house to >> House to the pawn shop. It started at the house, then it went to the pawn shop. >> Cool. Okay. All right. Uh first thing I'll do is I'll get a couple pictures from you of you. I'll go from there. >> [laughter] >> Fill out a couple forms with you. >> Okay. >> And then I'll give you a give you a form to keep, things like that. We'll go from there, okay? >> Okay. >> Um actually, first thing, you got a ID or anything with you? >> Uh sure. >> If not, it's fine. >> Yeah, I do. Of course. >> Well, you >> And we took a We took some pictures earlier. >> Well, whatever. Okay. >> If that works. >> Well, you get pictures and you fill out paperwork if she if you give them IDs, I'll have them do that. Okay. All right. Thank you. >> Mhm. >> And then I guess you can keep this paperwork as well. Okay. >> You want me to put on a t-shirt? >> Whatever you're comfortable in. >> Let me put a t-shirt on and that way let me just get a >> Do you have any marks on your back? >> I don't know. >> Okay. If you would If you would like >> Yeah. >> to have her go back there and check your back. >> do it. >> We >> So Trying to Trying to get keep We We have to photograph Andrew but I don't want to put you in an uncomfortable situation with photographs and stuff. >> I thought I had >> Here's paper. [clears throat] >> So um >> Um Oops. What am I doing? Crazy. I'm a little crazy right now. Oh my gosh, Lolly. >> Is he still at the pawn shop now? >> Mhm. Uh I'm sure he is. Yeah. Here is the video from him yelling at me this morning. Not that that matters to you. >> [snorts] >> Here's my [clears throat] And I know the lights too. Let me open the door. Oh my gosh. I need an update. >> [snorts] >> And this is the fifth time he's done it. >> Have you made any uh previous reports? >> That one never was. Because he's a gun dealer. And I didn't want him to lose anything. You know, I've been with him for 40 years. >> only is the tools >> No, it twisted at the shop. It's swollen a little bit but not normally like that. So anyway, um He's a gun dealer, dudes. Wait, you If you've been in there, you know how many guns we have. But this is the fifth time, so I mean Anyway, so I'm I'm still >> take them just to >> You can, but me Thank you. >> You're welcome. >> You can. Let me I'll get a t-shirt on. >> What do you want It's fine. What's her name or is it? >> It's Dana Shirley. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Is her name Daniel? >> No, it's Dana. >> Okay. >> Dana Shirley. I was close. >> You were close. No, I'm trying to get Dana's number. I need to get her phone. What's up? Uh yeah, where are the best light at? >> I think over here is better. >> Okay. This is fine. >> Do you want to do outside? >> Uh yeah. >> It's better light out here. >> All right. All right. Could you uh face There you go. There you go. And then could you face away from me? And then yep. All right. I'll get a little bit closer to you so I know it's your hands. >> Mhm. >> All right. So, you can just put your arms down by your side one more time. All right. And then I'll get the light out of your face. >> You want my glasses off? >> No, ma'am. It's fine. You don't have any bruises on your eyes or anything. Gotcha. Then I'll get [clears throat] the back side of your head. You didn't hit your head on anything, right? >> I don't know. I'm sure tomorrow everything will be sore. >> Okay. All right. Face me one time. And then you can uh stick your hands out. Yeah, you can. >> Actually, my fingers are a little bruised on top. >> Okay. And then you said uh you got some redness on your arms or anything like that. >> He just grabbed me. >> Okay. Yeah, we got a little bit. All right there. So, if you want to sit down cuz I'll have you uh I'll take a picture of both so I can possibly see the difference. >> Yes. >> You want to sit? Yeah, I'll take so. >> No, I think it's fine. >> I'm sorry. I know it's a lot. >> No, honey, it's okay. Now, I will tell you that I'm getting a knee replacement. And it it's not it's it's maybe 10% bigger than the other one whenever it >> All right. Are you you want to sit here? >> Sure. >> Yes, you can. So, I'll fill out a few forms with you. Fill out a few forms with you if that's okay. >> Okay. >> I know I didn't get a chance to Well, I didn't get a chance to do that, but I know I didn't get a chance to introduce myself, but I'm >> Uh listen to how he's handling everything. I'm not even going to open my mouth cuz >> Uh but I'm a deputy by the way, okay? Um so, what this is is just uh Do it. That's all I >> He just paid attention to how he explains things. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Um so, some of these might sound repetitive. >> It's okay. Yeah, go ahead. Please, just yell at me if you need me. >> Okay. Thank you. Okay. Thank you. >> He never begins to save. Pushes her on the ground. Um snatched her keys out of her hand, which cut her finger. Um snatched the scarf off her throat or around her throat. >> No. No, no. No. >> No. >> No. >> Um >> No. He's never threatened me. >> So, he's obviously been living a pawn shop, owns a lot of guns. This is the fifth time that he's done it. >> No. >> Um she's never reported it being scared of him because he's got a gun, and uh, didn't want to let him to lose his gun sales, but also scared he's going to. >> Yeah, I've thought it for a good while, only because he's crazy. >> you, yes, ma'am. Take your time. We're we're in no rush. >> [snorts] >> Okay. Um, obviously he he owns the the pawn shop, and he has weapons he can easily get to, right? >> Oh, there's weapons everywhere, yeah. Here at the house, um, yeah, everywhere. >> [snorts] >> All right, so has he ever tried to choke or strangle you? >> Um, >> we can go as slow as you need to. No rush. >> He grabbed me by the throat once and threw me down. No, he didn't he didn't he didn't choke or strangle, so that's >> So so with that, with him grabbing your throat, uh, did you did you feel threatened for a moment or anything like that? >> No. No, it didn't. >> [snorts] >> All right, so is she violent or constantly jealous? >> Mhm. Um, >> [laughter] >> no, I don't give him a reason to be. There was a time whenever he didn't want me to talk to any of my family members [clears throat] or friends. He kind of started isolating me, and then I put a stop to it. >> Okay, so >> But that was not today. >> Okay, so but that but it has happened. >> He tried to do it. >> Okay, so obviously y'all were living together here at the y'all separated and started living in different places. >> We haven't I have a place in Bentonville, but we have been living together not forever. >> Okay, so um, y'all are going through the divorce. >> We're going through the divorce. I will be leaving today. >> Okay, got you. >> [snorts] >> All right, um, are you currently unemployed? >> No, sir. I'm employed. >> Okay, got you. Is he currently unemployed? >> No, he is employed. >> Okay. Has he ever tried to kill himself? >> No. >> That you know of? >> He threatened it one time. I mean, he threatened that I could end this, but that was years ago. I think he was trying to manipulate me. >> Okay, I got you. Um Do you have a child that he believes is not his? >> No. >> All right, and does he follow you? Does he follow you? Does he threaten you with messages? >> No. >> And is there anything else that worries you about your safety uh when dealing with him? Did he ever tell you he's going to follow you or >> No. >> Just I don't know. Um, and you said he does This isn't the first time, correct? >> It is not. >> Okay. All right. Um, and have you ever documented You said you didn't or you have? >> I've never done a police report every time. I have taken videos of my bruises and all that. Yes. >> And how many instances would you say >> Today would be five. Mhm. >> Were those minor or were they just like cuts and scrapes or was it like bruises or >> Uh bruises and >> Any lacerations like big cuts? >> No, not big cuts. I did have a cut on one arm that flipped open. >> But uh so >> No stitches, okay. >> So, do you I know this is kind of getting a little personal. Do you have an idea of when everything will be I guess finalized? Uh >> Like this week. >> This week sometime? >> Mhm. Yeah. There's just a few more things. >> [snorts] >> All right, and so are you going to seek medical treatment or do you want a medical >> going to wash my hand and put a band-aid on it. Or just wash my hand. >> [snorts] >> Does he live here? >> He does. >> Okay. >> Yes. He does and this house will be his. >> Okay. >> So, he bought me out of the house. >> So, there were no witnesses, correct? >> Nope. No witnesses. Only the Only the camera at work, but like I [snorts] said, I'm sure he erased it. >> Okay. Um do you have any restraining orders against him or him against you or anything like that? >> Through our divorce, I mean they said that, but um No. I mean I None have ever been uh I've never made a restraining order. I've never made a police report, nothing. >> Got you. So, [clears throat] you're packing stuff to leave today, right? >> I am. >> Okay. Um so, where will you What's the address that you'll be staying at? >> 209 Victory Metamora. >> Got you. >> And I'm I'm actually today because the weather's coming in, I'm going to go to my sister's. >> Ma'am, >> do they have any thoughts of closing early today or >> At the pawn shop? >> Yeah. >> He'll be there until 5:00. Now, our people may some of them may leave early. He'll be there all day. >> Are there any other spots that you go to? I know there are hangout spots that you go to. >> No, he doesn't hang out. He just go works. Thank you. >> Okay. So, what I'm going to have you do on here is just uh draw a little arrow to all the places that he grabbed you, struck you, or anything like that. And just draw a little arrow to it, and then I'll beside it, I'll just have you initial beside it. >> Okay. Okay. Wrist, finger, wrist, hand, uh shoulder, I mean, forearms. >> Of course, want my shirt. >> [clears throat] >> All right, and then I'll have you initial these for me. Um so, it says, first one I have physically point out to the officer on the diagram where you were struck. >> Mhm. >> Where you were struck yesterday. On on your person where you were struck. >> Mhm. >> Person with question. What We know who he is. >> You know who he is. >> And then the object he used, which it would be hand or foot. >> Yes. >> And then you initial all the questions. >> I do. >> Okay, cool. So, I'll have you sign here, and I'll sign as well. And then I'll give you this form here. So, all this is just a little resource card. So, on there are listed numbers for shelters, counseling, basically anything you need for you and your mom. >> [clears throat] >> Call any of them at any time, I believe, probably any time of day or night. So, it's just good to keep on hand. >> Okay. >> Uh on there is a little wee wee. Yeah, on the front here. It's where I have my name. >> Thank you. >> There should be your name on there. And then up top will be your report number for this incident, okay? >> Thank you. >> And just in case, have this one as well. We're out of the little instant cards, so we have to write it. >> It's okay. >> We got that. Um Are you getting my information? Okay. All right, so we should be good here. Um if we need anything else, we'll give you a call. But we we shouldn't need it. >> I'll be gone. You have my phone number. >> Do you have your phone number, too? >> You have my phone number, yeah. You can use that. >> And we'll get this started the right way. >> Okay, yes ma'am. Uh if you need anything, uh if anything changes, if he comes here and starts trying to start something else, >> I'll be gone before he Well, hopefully I'll be gone before he gets up and about, so he usually doesn't leave the shop. He's got a mad on the job. >> Okay, I got you, yeah. Well, if anything like I said, if anything changes, let us know, okay? I'm going to close this out. Yes, ma'am. >> Thank you. I really appreciate you guys. I hate that you're here, but >> Well, I'd rather I'd rather us be here and you be alive than us not show up and you not be alive. >> Thank you. I appreciate that. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Okay. >> All right. >> Okay. >> Just be careful on the road tonight. >> Yeah, I will. Appreciate y'all. Thank you. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Thank you, sir. Bye now. Let me get some ramen noodles, okay? >> Where did you I don't know. I was with her at the movie theater. >> [laughter] >> Oh, that's right. >> Yeah, we got them all put up. >> What time is it right now? >> That's me. Yes, sir. >> I'm fine, sir. >> Y'all hear anything else about that stolen gun from North Carolina? >> Yes, sir. Yeah. >> Got a good idea. >> So, we spoke with your wife and she said things happened. Um we're just trying to get your side of the story of what happened and everything. >> Uh-huh. >> Um so, just from I guess time y'all woke up and I guess everything started happening, just kind of walk me through. >> I've been trying to get a divorce for 4 years. Uh every time we come up, I've had heart surgery twice. I had hip replacement, and I had COVID. I got a 6-month extension for each one of those things. Uh my wife, the judge signed our divorce decree. I've got a copy of it out in my truck. Uh that I wound up with the business, I wound up with the house, she got all her other stuff. Uh I've had a uh that was April the 17th >> Of uh >> Of last year, yes. And then I've got a uh and then I paid her for the house, I transferred all the money over to her, I got everything else I was supposed to do. We had an appointment today. And they followed the uh the judge follows the uh court follows the Little Rock North Little Rock school thing. So, I waited 5 months for this one. And that's what I'm awful lucky for. Uh my wife's not supposed to be here. You know, I can also get our divorce >> here the child >> The water heater Both of that, the both of them, I wound up with both of She won't leave. Okay, this morning, you know, she's got She has keys to things that she's not supposed to have. I went and took her name off of some checking accounts this morning. There were email addresses of things that were the companies that I wound up with that were forwarded to her. Okay, she came in with her set of keys, I asked for her set of keys, she told me she wouldn't give them to me. I said to her boyfriend, And I told her that she needed to move, she needed to get whatever she needs to do. Uh we had negotiated for a peaceful settlement. Yesterday, she gave me a list of stuff, gave it to the defendants, she's gone. And since we have this uh extension, uh the last one I had got was for 5 months out. So, now I'm kind of under pressure today. I've always stuck for 3 months at a time. Uh I did take her keys away from her and I pushed her on the ground. >> Okay. All right. So, she's saying that's what she's saying happened. Like, you pushed her into a safe, and threw her on the floor, and what did you know anything of that nature? Do you guys have cameras? Did it happen here? >> Not Not in the back area. No, sir. >> So, you don't have cameras on the property? >> We do on the front The front The The retail. We don't have any in the back. >> Okay. Where Where did it happen in the back? Like, behind the counter or something? >> No, sir. It was in the back of the of the back of the uh building. Not back of the building, the back of this office. >> That office? Yes, sir. Inside Outside? >> It was inside the building. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. There are no cameras there. >> Okay. Okay. Um So, you didn't push her, kick, swipe, hit her? >> her keys away from her. I did slap her. I didn't hit her. I didn't kick her. I didn't trip her. I didn't throw her down. I spun her around, and she fell on the floor. >> You spun her around, and >> I wasn't malicious about it. I'm not going to do anything I got too much to lose. >> I got you. So, Um So, I know Are there any cameras that possibly recorded her on the camera? I'm trying I'm trying to do it. I'm trying to look out for your best interests and hers, cuz it's it's leaning towards Uh 2161. If you guys leaning more her way, just being honest with you. I'm trying to get you to figure it out for yourself. Yeah, I'll I'll I'll look out Oh, yeah. I'm I'm I'm trying to I'm trying to I know most of that'll be civil, like the whole deal of if she wouldn't have given you the keys and everything. It's not really too much we can do about that. I don't I don't think we just have to take that back to court and be like, "Hey, you guys already know her. She's supposed to do stuff." >> I didn't hit her. I didn't like You know, it's in her best interest to fall down, hit butt the wall, do anything in the world for that. I didn't do it. >> And uh same thing at the house? Nothing Did anything happen at the >> not hit her. Nope. Nope, didn't do it. >> No cameras or no cameras at the house? >> Nope, didn't lay a hand on her. >> Okay. >> She was It was okay enough for her to come to work this morning. >> Okay. And what about you? Did she do anything to you or did she push anything? >> No, sir. I mean there was the struggle for the keys, you know, but you know, she didn't hit me. She didn't No, no, she didn't. >> All right. Uh if you don't mind, just speaking with him, I'll talk to him real quick and then >> Okay. >> All right, you want to just double confirm his information, make sure he's legit. >> Yeah. You need my driver's license, sir? >> Actually, yeah, if you got it. Uh name is Danny Shirley. >> Yes, sir, Danny Shirley. >> Shirley. >> Yeah, okay. I'll be glad to. >> Thank you. >> You're welcome. >> Is that all you needed? >> Yes, sir. >> Would you accompany me to my truck so we can get that paperwork filled out? >> All right, hold on just a second. >> Yes, sir. >> Let them do what they're doing. >> No problem at all. >> What's up, man? >> Oh, nothing much. >> What's up, Red? What's going on? Think I'm okay. I'll let you know in a minute, bud. >> Yes, sir. >> Yeah, I've got everybody outside. Yeah. >> All right, if you don't mind, can you show me like where everything took place if you don't mind? >> Sure. Sure. >> Follow me in. Everything is fine. We're all good. We're all right here. >> They're just here for free pizza. Don't worry about it. >> All right, you're good. >> What do you What may I what can I help you with, darling? Are you just >> Yeah, you're the only one I could think of. >> Well, look up here on the wall. Do you see anything wrong with it? >> Okay, yep. She walked back here. She had her keys. She reached and opened the door. She turned around. I asked her for the keys. She said no. I reached and grabbed them out of her hand. She went that way. She said she's getting some boxes. She picked up a couple of boxes including some of my checks. She's not supposed to have my checks. Okay, not a problem. I took my checks out of it. And I grabbed the box and I handed her the box and she turned around like this and tripped and fell against the door. >> Will that work? >> No, sir. That won't work for that safe. It's a very limited spot about this big. Basically we've got it set up so >> way we can see that? >> Uh Yes, sir. I will have to figure out which one it is. It's a I've got two different DVR systems. >> We'll wait on that. And also um what is this is like a storage room or like an inventory room I guess you could say? >> This is the inventory room where we keep all our pawn stuff. Yes, sir. >> Okay, I got you. >> Uh yeah, you don't mind we just take a look at look at that. >> Okay, you can take it back here and which one it is. We'll go from there. >> Yeah, it'll take me a second. Let me look back here and see which one it is. >> So I wish my guns would look like this. >> [snorts] >> They have 12 gauges. Semi-auto. Put that out there. >> Put that out there. >> Yeah. Good ones that would probably do a good duck hunter some good. So is it like I know it's like fully recording but does it like kick and only start recording when it's >> It's motion or is it just a constant record? >> It looks like this one's a constant record. This looks like what we set up. >> Do you know what time it all happened? >> Uh Cuz I'm still trying to catch up. So like did y'all come together or did she >> Yeah, she she came out when she left home this morning. >> Mhm. And um >> then she came out here to do or do whatever. >> Mhm. >> Anything past that we don't believe. And then she paying me to get other things which I'm I really think when she's taking something out of here, I really think it's up to both of us to be able to see what she's taking out. But you know >> All right, so All right, all right, then y'all's divorce is finalized on Friday or is it finalized now? Or is it you still in that process like in that gray area? >> the 17th of last year. >> [snorts] >> Is that when you Is that when you filed it or is that when it was actually when it was >> Our divorce was final April 17th of last year. >> Okay. >> [ __ ] won't leave. >> And I just And y'all already did the whole court thing where she's got to leave and all that? >> Yep. >> She won't leave. >> She was with contempt of court today. I'm trying to get her to leave. She don't want to leave. She don't want to leave. You got to go. You got to go. You're not supposed to be out here. >> Can you back it up just a little bit more? >> Yes, sir. I'd be glad to. How far back do you like? >> Uh just when everything started. And so you were basically at that point uh like you said trying to get her to leave. I guess you were trying to get her to leave. >> I was trying to push her out the >> door. >> Yes, sir. >> All right, so all I'm going to do is sign this paperwork and then I'll sign you back over. >> Yes, sir. >> Now, you wasn't doing anything up there? Anything in your pockets that you want to leave here? >> No, sir. >> That has like value that you don't want to be at the jail? >> I just got a couple of keys in my pocket but I don't >> All right. Do you have any keys to the door that you want to give to your staff so they can secure it when it's closing time or >> You got it, man. >> You can kind of show me the same. >> No matter what she did off the camera had nothing to do with it. So >> I don't know why I asked earlier when you said, "Well, we can talk about it right here before we >> Yeah. >> So that's why I asked you earlier if you did anything to eat.
