But he uh >> So, he carries it with him everywhere he goes, especially if he's riding in the car. Does he keep it in that cloth case when he's carrying it in the car? >> I don't know. He uh I don't know what he did today because Sure. >> Oh. >> I'll get him more water. I don't know because when I left early this morning, I had an appointment and when I got back he was gone in the Cadillac. And he don't take it with him. >> Okay. >> Especially if he's in the car. When you went and got the the rifle the gun that was involved in the accident was the handgun or was the other gun lying on the bed then? Do you remember? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> It was there. >> Okay. You were waiting for him to put it up. >> Yes. I I don't like This is I don't like touching that. It is. I don't like guns in my home. >> Yeah. >> So, I don't like guns in my home. I don't like guns. >> Did your husband usually leave his guns loaded in the home? >> [clears throat] >> Or does he unload them? >> I don't know. >> You're not sure. >> I don't know. I don't know. He tried to have it just wanted to show me how to use them all the time and I would say, "Don't do that." >> You don't like it when he does that. >> No. He'd say, "You need to know. You need to know. You need to know." >> When was the last time he threatened you? >> Not that long ago. >> Yeah. >> He didn't worry. Bobby, I'm all right. Bobby, please, Lord, help me. >> You said around when? Or take you? >> No, no, he's never taken me. >> Okay. Have you ever shot a gun before? I thought you can make up. All right. I'm sorry. So, you Okay. Do you Do you remember at all I know we asked this before. Do you remember at all where you were standing or where he was standing? Or you can try and show us how this all happened because I appreciate everything you're saying. We're just trying to figure out how something like this happens and help us better understand how something like this could happen. I know that that would help me and it would help my partner. >> You know, I remember him getting out and came through the garage. I was so happy to see him. I said, "Honey, look, I'm going to show you I know how to use this today." That's what I said. >> Okay. Okay. And then what did you do? >> And I I pointed it and I didn't know I didn't know that I didn't know where he was. >> Did you point it at him? >> I I >> Or somewhere else? I thought I was pointing it. I thought I was pointing it somewhere else. >> [clears throat] >> Did he uh Did he teach you to point it at other people? What was it What were these uh the gun safety rules he was teaching? >> He said make sure make sure you nobody sees it. That's what he told me. That was the rule that you make sure you're not hiding your weapon. >> And what do you think he meant by that? >> Protect myself. >> Did [snorts] he ever teach you you know about the the safety or Did he teach you how to load it? Or did you just try to know? >> [snorts] >> He tried to teach me how to load it. Well, if I don't get it, he tried to teach me how to load it. And I would say, "I got it. I got it." >> Did he ever teach you any safety rules about guns, anything like that in general? >> No. >> No. Okay. Um did he teach you So, if he's telling you how to use it, right? And you're saying you're using it for protection? >> Right. >> Okay. Did he teach you where to point it? Did he tell you where to point it? >> He said just point it. Cuz it's big he says. It's a big dog. Just point it. >> Just point it where? >> Anywhere. He says just point it. Just shoot. He just say shoot. >> Okay. Is he saying point it at a person, point it at the wall, point it in the air? >> He said person. >> Point it at the person? >> Yes. >> Okay. Now, um Is that what you did today? >> Yes. >> [snorts] >> Right. So, you pointed it >> I didn't know I didn't know it was loaded. I did not know it was loaded. I did not know it was loaded. >> So, just from what I'm just from what I'm getting, so you you come out into the garage, you have the gun. [snorts] You say, "Look, I'm going to show you how to know how to use this." >> Okay. >> You pointed it at your husband. >> Yeah. >> And I said, >> He said, "Okay." He said, "Okay." >> "Okay." Okay. You pointed at your husband and you pulled the trigger. >> Oh, have mercy. Well, I did [clears throat] not know. >> And he fell to the ground. >> Oh my god. I couldn't believe it. I could not believe it. I saw all this blood and I tried to I tried to miss. Oh god. >> Okay. What are you doing? >> Nothing. >> I mean, so you were kind of watching him You were kind of going through the motions trying to show him like he showed you, right? >> I I I can I can take myself. That's all I said. I know how to protect myself. >> So, could you lift the gun up like this? >> I just I was just holding it like >> it like that? >> Yeah, I just I just >> Are you right-handed or left-handed? >> I'm right-handed. I had no idea that know would go off. I had no idea that it would go off. >> [laughter] >> Can we get you anything? >> No. >> No. Do you need to go to the bathroom or something? >> No. [snorts] >> We appreciate you taking the time, okay? I know that this is difficult to go through.
