He's like, you physically hit the bike and that's what knocked him off of it. You didn't see him >> No way. Jody, I promise you. >> I'm just telling you the troopers just called me. They said you physically hit the bike and they I'm just telling you >> I want to see [clears throat] the video. >> I don't have it yet. But they're telling me that you hit the bike, hit the back of the bike, and that's what knocked him over. And that's what [clears throat] matches the statements as well. >> Hand to God. He fell off that bike on his own. I on my son's life. >> Spoiler details are in the video description and the full results of all charges in the case are laid out at the end of the video. >> Did you bring it in with you? >> It's in my car. I'll go get it here in a second. You don't want to show me some stuff on there. Okay, let's start from from the beginning when he got mad and took off and stayed gone. Tell me leading up to that. So and are we going to find any drugs in his system? Weed. Weed. Okay, what about yours? >> Probably. >> Okay, what were we talking >> And I I wouldn't I'm not going to lie to you about anything. >> No, be straight up. >> And it's because I know it's not an excuse, but I'm on 26 medications. I'm dying and I'm depressed and I'm alone most of the time and I do a little bit of speed sometimes, but that's it. >> What kind of speed do you use? Like meth or >> I Well, I don't like to call it that. >> Ice? >> Yes. >> Okay, when's the last time you used that? >> Yesterday. >> What do you smoke it or >> Mhm. That sounds so terrible, but I'm >> No, I mean be honest, it is what it is, you know? >> But I'm not anything like I used to be, Jody. I'm not like that. >> No, >> you. >> Yes, good for you. I'm just making notes on the back. Okay, so Yesterday is when this all started, yesterday? >> No, I don't like you saying it like that cuz this wasn't like Yeah, everybody had a planned event. >> No, I mean everybody already life I'm life's hard. I already I told you I already gave my husband I told you on the way in. Life's it's hard. I don't care. There's no perfect couple. There's no couple that doesn't argue and fight, okay? I'm just trying to figure out and piece how this all went about today. >> give me my phone, it'd be much easier for me to do that. >> Okay. >> Just show you what I did. I'll get it here in just a second I told you I woke up on the couch and I was upset because I thought he'd wake me up when he came in from the garage the night before when he got done working cuz we hadn't spent much time together. He had been trying to rearrange his voting. Did you find out if he's okay or not? >> They're going to call me back. I put a call in. So, that's what I actually I had a call I was trying to get ahold of his mom and dad. They both called too, so she's supposed to be calling me back. >> So, the mom and dad called? >> Mhm. >> Oh my god. >> I mean maybe the mom is in town and the dad lives in Florida, maybe? >> They both live in Florida. Do you both think I did this on purpose? >> Honey, it's not that anybody thinks anything. I wasn't there. We just got to get it figured out. >> I know. I don't know how to help you figure it out. I I I told you everything I know. >> I can tell you that we had got before this even happened, we had got multiple 911 calls and calls that you guys were arguing and fighting and you were chasing. There was uh calls from Sodaville, there was calls from Clover Valley, there was calls from New Boston. And I just make you go down the road with you. Said that they didn't know what you guys were arguing about. They he was driving fast, you were driving fast. >> I was trying to tell him his kickstand was down. He's already wrecked the bike once because of that. >> There's no way he could have drove from Clover Valley all the way to New Boston with a kickstand down. Won't have happened. >> He had to have put it up at a four-way stop or a light or something. >> I know that they um they checked it there at New Bolton and there's no scrapes, no marks, no nothing. >> On what? >> His kickstand. >> How is that possible? He's wrecked before because of the kickstand on Sugar Valley Road here. >> I don't know. I mean, they were the experts in that. I'm I don't There's that There's people that showed up for reconstruction. That's what they're doing. They'll be able to tell how fast you were going, how fast he was going. >> Okay. >> And and that's why you want the best of the best. >> I do. >> That's out of my realm. That's what I was saying. >> Because I want Maybe we just got to get I mean, whether you like it or >> Okay, I'm sorry. >> We just got to get to the bottom I know it's hard, honey. We just got to get to the bottom of it. >> Okay. >> To figure out exactly what happened, to make sure everything cuz you want nobody to question you. You don't want his family to question you. You >> No, I don't I don't want Every but everybody knows how much I love Scott. Nobody would ever think that. >> with him. I mean, everybody knows >> No, not obsessed. That sounds terrible. >> Well, I don't mean it in a bad way. >> I mean, he's the best thing that's ever happened to me and Jackson. And I fought for a long time to have a good man. >> Right. Oh, I know that. They're hard to find. >> But obsessed in a bad or I don't know what way. >> a bad way. No, I'm just mad like you adore him. I guess that's a better word. >> Absolutely. I adore him. So, so >> What time does he show up home today? >> 5:30. >> Okay. >> ish. I mean, the cameras will tell exactly. >> Okay. Got you. And then how's he acting? >> He I didn't talk to him. >> Okay, you didn't talk to him. >> I pulled up when he was pulling leaving our house. Okay. And he stopped and I pulled up beside him and I asked him if he wanted to talk. He said, "What's there to talk about?" And I said, "Everything." I said, "Well, let's go to town and eat." So, he took off. I went following behind him. >> He had no idea where he was going. Okay. >> I mean, I assumed we would stop and talk about where we were going to eat. I said, "I'm going to go to town." >> Okay. >> Normally, he would go to a friend's or to camp, but >> Okay. >> he didn't. >> Okay, so where did he go? >> To the end of Sugar Valley. >> Okay, and that's right there at the funeral home? >> Mhm. >> Okay. So, what kind of conversation did you guys have there? >> None. Or wait a minute. What I just told you happened at this the funeral home. >> Okay, so you >> Wait a minute. I'm so It's so blurry. >> you guys were arguing because there the neighbor said you guys were arguing on Swagger Valley. >> On Swagger Valley, you mean? >> No, this would be a neighbor that lives there by the funeral. This guy lives on uh Swagger Valley. >> He's That's not my neighbor. >> No, a neighbor to the where you guys were at, honey. >> Oh, okay. >> The guy who lives >> All that was said was that was said was >> He said you guys were arguing. Scott jumped on the bike, took off at a high rate of speed, and you went right behind him. >> Scott didn't get off the bike at the funeral. >> Well, I mean, he said he took off on the bike. He said that's He knows he took off and you were right behind him. >> going any faster than he normally does. I didn't feel like he was. >> I don't know what they're I'm just telling you what is >> And he went back down Swagger, and he turned down our road, so I thought first he was going to go into our driveway and ride with me. >> Okay. >> But he didn't. He kept on going to the end of Shamway and got on the new highway. Followed him there. >> So, about 3:35. Cuz you the new highway >> Okay, that's where we were at was 3:35. >> Okay, got you. And where did you guys get off the highway at? >> At 1:40. >> Cuz I think the highway has cameras, too. Okay. And he turned I don't I don't know exactly where we were at when I realized his kickstand was down, but it scared me to death. Okay. >> It was all the way down, dragging the road. >> Okay. >> And of course, my phone was in my um stand thingy, so I didn't grab it cuz I don't like to do that when I drive. >> Right. But um cuz I was going to take a picture when we stopped. Right. And like try to I was literally desperately trying to get his attention. And he probably just thought cuz you guys were arguing fighting, he's trying to ignore you. >> I mean that crossed my mind, but we I had I told him let's go to dinner and he said he didn't say okay, but he didn't say no. >> Right. >> So, I told him let's go to take him. >> Okay. >> So, we got off the exit at 140. He turned right and went past the other funeral home inside of town. >> Okay, yeah. >> Winds. This is about terrible. I don't know if he went right or straight. >> Was that inside of town? >> Mhm. >> Okay. [clears throat] >> By Conyers, Georgia. >> Okay. >> Either went right or straight. He did he went straight. >> Okay. >> You know where the all the confusing parts are right there under the tunnel? >> Yes, okay. >> Yeah, he went that way. >> Okay. >> And then um we got on the highway. >> Okay. >> So, then you go up to the >> Okay. >> And that's it. >> Did you go down an alley in New Boston? >> Mhm. Well, it wasn't really an alley. It was a driveway or something. >> Okay, where's that at, honey? >> Right where about right where a little bit to the light. >> Okay. >> Maybe a couple of houses down. >> Okay, left. Did you guys pull in there? >> No, we uh he turned in there. >> Okay. >> And I thought maybe he changed his mind or was going back home. I didn't know what he was doing. >> Right. >> And so, when he got to the That was like a driveway and then he turned the the left turning made was an alley right led back to the road that enters or um goes between the two um highways. >> Okay, got you. Okay, I hear you. >> The Andy's Printing Place? >> Yes. >> Okay. He got to that light. >> Okay. >> Turned left. I was right behind him. >> Okay. >> And he he stopped. I don't know if he did it on purpose or if his bike locked up or if if the kickstand did it and someone went in front of him. I can't remember. It happened so fast. But and before I knew it >> Hello. Hi. >> It was under my tire. And then there was people screaming at me. This guy was seeing the fear on this guy's face was terrible. HE WAS LIKE, "GO FORWARD." AND I'M LIKE, "NO." He's like, "Go back." He just kept saying that over and over again. >> So, when when you hit him, he was still on the bike, I assume. Okay. >> He was out of the bike. I swear to god he was out of the bike. >> Okay. >> Oh my god. >> Okay. So, you're saying you hit him on the road way somewhere. >> What do you mean? Like, how how did he get underneath your car? Do you remember was he >> He rolled off the bike. He fell off the bike. >> Okay, got you. Okay, that's what I That's the part I didn't understand. >> literally rolled over me. There was nothing I could do. I >> [laughter] >> The feeling of being run over was terrible. Like, they pulled me out of the car and this guy was screaming at me to go forward and go back and this girl's like, "What are you doing?" I was so surreal, totally. It was like I I felt like I was going to get out of the car and he was not going to be under there. Like, it had to be fake. And I saw him what on the road. It was like so surreal. >> On the road, you said. >> Yes. >> [laughter] >> So, Yeah. Did you not realize you hit him at first or what? >> No, it was so I was driving pretty far. I did. Don't tell [clears throat] me that. >> Well, I don't know. I'm I'm just keeping it real with you. >> Oh my god. >> That's what I said. I said >> Like, how far? >> I don't know. They're going to send me everything. >> Oh my god. So, did you not looking ahead so you didn't see >> Yes, I was looking ahead. It happened so fast. I mean, if you see the video it's like he slammed his brakes on. It almost look like he jumped off the bike on purpose. I don't know that he I cannot say that he did it cuz I don't know. >> Okay. >> But that's what it looked like. >> Okay. >> Or he >> So, when did you actually realize that you would be hitting me he was under your car? >> You know how like when something happens in slow motion like I don't know how to explain that. It was like this is not happening. >> Right. >> And I'm in a car. Like what am I supposed to do? >> Right. >> I slammed my brakes as hard as I could and he was I don't know if he was in front of me or under me. I have no idea, but this guy that was standing outside the car was screaming at me to go forward or go back. And this other girl standing beside him was screaming at me, "What are you doing?" And I'm like "I'm screaming at these people. Get him out. Get him out." >> Right. >> So, did he >> So, did was did they was he talking? Was he I mean, did you Okay. Okay. >> Yes. The first time I the guy told me to go forward, I heard Scott say something. I don't know what he said though. Did anybody tell you what he said? >> No, I didn't talk to the EMTs and stuff. I know the witness the deputy said, but I will get all that. I just haven't >> I'm so hot. Can I use a piece of paper, please? How did this happen? >> Ma'am, I don't know. I was not I was >> I don't know why. >> I wish I had that answer. I don't. I wish I had that answer for you. >> I would never hurt Scott, not even not even a tap. I mean, I just wouldn't. Ask anybody, they'll tell you that. >> And I think you know, what and I don't know, but you were driving so fast, he was driving so fast, there would have been no time >> We weren't We weren't going that fast. There's no way we could have been. Right there. >> I don't I I'm just talking about leading up to this. They said you guys were flying. I mean, everybody that called in >> Yeah, he was going really fast and they said you were right behind him. So, >> and and and what have happened, I mean, it's hard reaction time, especially when when your adrenaline's pumping, you're upset, you're mad. >> I wasn't It wasn't that I wasn't feeling like that. I was scared for him. >> Right. >> I was so scared that he was going to wreck from that kickstand. And I kept seeing him looking at me in the rearview mirror, but it's like, are you not seeing me walking you down there? Are you not seeing me? >> Now, on the new highway. >> And what are 52? >> Okay. Okay. >> And then at a four-way stop. And I was going to jump out and but I didn't want to be that crazy. >> Right. >> And try to talk to him at a four-way stop and say or me try to put it up and I'm like, what if I get ran over? >> Right. No. >> I mean, I I wasn't I had some sense to my head. I mean, it wasn't like out of my mind, mad. I haven't I know how Scott is. I know he just needs time to calm down when stuff like this happens. >> Right. >> So, it's not like I thought our life was over or did I know when he was going to come home? No. >> Right. Well, I know some of the family had called in and said that Scott said that he couldn't leave the house without you, get mad, and you would have to go with him, and that you guys have been arguing and fighting. >> That's not true. Well, we haven't been. I mean, like I said, get my phone, you'll see >> Okay. >> our relationship >> me get it real quick. >> Okay. >> Give me just a second, okay, honey? >> Do you have anything to drink? Do >> Yeah, I'll get you something. Give me just a second, you're welcome. Your mom told us she thought he was going to leave me here. In so in so many words. No, she said that the last her my assistant kept telling me that they are it's sickening how cute we are and how much we love each other. >> [snorts] >> And you can go through the messages between my mom. Um she said the last four or five six months she's noticed which everybody has said this not about me and him, seeing a difference in him mentally. His mom has been blowing me up about getting him into a um mental health doctor. It's like right around the time his divorce was finalized he started acting weird. But I'm the one that the other day when I when we broke up, I'm the one that did it. Not him. >> What What day did you break up? >> The right before he left, but we didn't Nobody said we'd break up. We didn't. I said I'm done. >> I got you. >> Do I need an attorney? >> Right now you haven't been charged with anything. It's totally up to you. I mean you've not been charged with anything. >> I'm going to go home and take my meds and then go sleep with my Jackson. And I want to find out what's going on with Scott. >> Okay, I'll call. They may have called on my answering machine. >> I really don't want to find out here. I just don't. >> Looks like he ain't even responding back to a lot of these. >> He never never responds to any Look through my my messages. His friends always message me. He never ever cares about his son. Never. He'll call. He'd rather call and talk than message back. >> Okay, let me call and see if I can get you an update real quick. Are you okay for I can get that video? The show >> I don't care. I'm going to go home. >> Okay, let me Give me just a few more minutes. That way we don't have to drive you back down here. Let me see if there's anything else I need, okay? Okay, he's calling. Let me see if I can get that video off real quick. I took the time and stuff. All right, real quick, couple of things. So, right where you wrecked at, >> Mhm. >> where everything happened, there is cameras and you physically hit the bike. He You physically hit the bike and that's what knocked him off at the same time. >> No way. >> Jody, I promise you. >> Yeah, I'm just telling you. The troopers just called me. They said you physically hit the bike and then >> I don't believe that. >> I'm just telling >> I want to see the video. >> I don't have it yet, but they're telling me that you hit the bike at the back end of the bike and that's what knocked him over and that's what matches the statements as well. >> Hand to God, he fell off that bike on his own. I On my son's life. >> Are you sure? Just like you >> I'm a thousand a thousand percent positive. I would never. >> Okay, I'm just Well, you know, you're driving fast and it's just hard to get stopped. I'm not paying attention to all that. >> It was not intentional. >> paying attention >> Unintentional or intentional, that did not happen. Okay. >> Okay. >> Now, that makes me mad. >> Okay, well, I'm I'm just telling you. I'm not there. >> So Whatever video Get the whole street's videos. It'll show you that he fell off that bike. I saw the brake lights physically with my own eyes. Matter of fact, I was like, "Did he do that?" It's just so fast. Did he do that on purpose? >> Like trying to brake check you or whatever. >> Exactly. >> And I mean, again, that could have been something if he did do that. Anybody behind him would have hit him. You know what I'm saying? >> That's exactly what you were just outside a few minutes ago. That's exactly what I was saying. This If that was a stranger in front of me, the same thing would have happened. >> Absolutely. That's what That's what I'm saying. If it's something I'm not there I'm not the reconstructionist. I'm not the one looking at the video. But there I mean if it's something that he did stop real fast and you hit him just be honest about it. I mean cuz I saw that >> If I was in front of you and I hit my brakes and you hit me, if that had happened, God strike me dead right now. That is not what I thought. >> Okay. >> Would my car have some damage on the front if I hit his bike? >> They said that there is. >> There's no Do I >> There is. Somebody put it there. I don't know. I'm I'm just telling >> you I promise you that did not happen. I would never do that to him. Ever. >> Well, they said like the front of the car there's scrapes and marks and >> Oh, there's there's There's It was like that when I bought it. Depending on what we're talking about. >> know. I'm not there, okay? So I I don't know. They I didn't touch your car. I didn't do anything. Cuz that's what they do. They do that. So Okay. Uh anything else that you think I need to know? Anything else that would be helpful? Anything? >> I love that man more than life itself. >> Well, that's obvious from your texts. >> I mean I really I just don't want anyone to think I ever hurt him. If If not for me, I would never do that to Jackson or his daughter. So I would never. Especially in broad daylight with all these people. Why would I do that? >> Fine. I don't know. I'm just trying to cover everything. Okay. Let me make a phone call. See if Ronald Archer update and see if we can finish up. Does that sound good? >> I don't want an update here. I don't I don't want me to I don't I can't do that here. >> Okay. Give me just a second. >> [snorts] >> Daddy. No, I mean like seriously right now, my medicine is 6 hours late. It's at home. I don't want to take it here. There's nobody to bring it. Jody, why did you lie to me? For what? What is it? What? Jody, nobody is going to know where all that's at. Am I being charged? Well, then I'm ready to go home. No, I'm not doing that. All right. I know my rights. If I'm not being charged, I'm going I'll come back. That's fine. If the prosecutor's office wants to charge me, that's fine. I know my rights. I'm not Okay, I'm going to stay in right here. I'm not going anywhere. Are you charging me with Are you charging me with something? Are you charging me with something? DON'T TOUCH ME. NO, STOP. ARE YOU CHARGING ME WITH SOMETHING? Are you charging me with something? YOU'RE LYING. >> JUST HAVE A SEAT. >> I'm not being charged You guys, do you want a lawsuit? I'm not being charged with anything. Now, let me go. >> Yep, you're not free to go. >> Okay. >> Pay for what, Jody? For what? >> You got to have a seat. Just have a seat. >> Well, then come in here till he calls you. This is not right. You guys are police officers. You know the law. >> Ma'am, have a seat. >> I'm not going to step out of this doorway, but you guys know the law. >> Ma'am, have a seat. Thank you. >> Leave the door open. >> We'll leave it cracked. Have a seat. >> Just come in here with me, then. >> Just have a seat. We'll be in here in just a second. >> You guys, listen. I'm not being charged. >> Have a seat. >> I didn't tell you to take me out. >> I'm going to tell you to get over there. I'm going to walk you over there. I'm not going to stay here and talk. Have a seat. >> For what? >> Have a seat. >> I know my rights. >> Well, have a seat. >> Am I wrong? >> Have a >> Am I wrong? >> Have a seat. >> Am I wrong? >> Ma'am, I'm going to tell you one more time. I'm walking you over there. >> For what? >> Have a seat. >> God, you guys are ridiculous. I want an attorney. Okay, you lied to me. >> I did not lie to you. I was on the phone with Jody, and this is what I was Is it okay to talk to you? Do you want a lawyer? Do you want me to show you this? Yes or no? >> For what? >> I was going to show you something. >> Okay. >> I'm trying to get answers for you. If you're in here screaming, then how are you going >> I want to talk to my lawyer. And my medicine. And you just told me I'd be out of here in a minute. You didn't say anything about that. >> I Everything goes through the prosecutor's office. I have to hold them and go back and forth. You got state patrol involved. You got new evidence. >> But not until all the She cannot prosecute me until all their evidence is back in. I've got a felony charge against me. >> Here's the thing is, they the reconstructionist put the bike up against your car, 100% your car hit the bike. >> That's a lie. I want to see the video. You can't HE'S WRECKED THAT BIKE BEFORE. He has wrecked that bike before, Jody. >> Okay. I I did not >> Okay. I'm not going to argue with you. We're going >> I'm not going to argue with you. >> The truth is I'm not the one that makes calls the shots. >> Okay. So then you guys can give me whatever you get all the evidence. >> I just got off the phone with the prosecutor. They are charging you tonight. Okay? >> For what? >> They are charging you for reckless homicide and murder A and B for right now. >> What? >> I'm being honest with you, Brooklyn. I've been nothing but honest with you. That's what they've decided. >> You are kidding. He's dead? >> He is dead. Yeah. I'm not going to lie to you. I just got this information. I told you I was going to call and get information. >> please take me out and let me smoke a cigarette, please, Jody? I've been very cooperative. >> have cigarettes? >> Yes. >> Okay. Where are your cigarettes at? >> In my car. We've done this before. Just let me go out with please. >> Let me talk as long as my boss is okay with that. I don't care about that. >> I don't want to go to jail I What am I going to do? Help me. >> Okay. I'm just saying. Okay. You got to remember we don't make the decision, okay? I'm trying to get these answers for you. I told you I was waiting for calls, calling this one, calling that one. You didn't want to know but you asked what you're being charged with. I'm not going to lie to you. Okay? >> That is crazy. >> It doesn't mean you're convicted. But that's what you're charged with. >> And I can't go home? >> You'll have bond. You'll have bond. >> Right now? >> Soon as I go over there I'll get your bond for you. I just don't know cuz I don't set the bond. Soon as we walk in that jail I will tell them to give us your bond. Does that sound fair enough? >> Yes, please. >> Where are the cigarettes at in your car? >> In my purse. I can I go with you? >> Let me ask, okay? >> Thank you. >> He said no. >> Please, sir. I haven't Listen, I've been very cooperative. I haven't smoked a cigarette in 7 hours. I what Listen, I have a I want 26 medications. The reason I'm acting like an idiot. Please, Jody.
