Hi. Are you Sherry? >> You're Sherry? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, what happened tonight? >> Um, my stepdaughter came to live with us, I'm going to say around June or July from being addicted to drugs. She got like infection in her brain, in her back, and her different places. And so, she was in a medically induced coma for couple months. And then she had to go to rehab. And when she got out, she had lost her apartment. They had kicked her out. And she didn't have anywhere to go. Her husband, her kids, her brother, nobody would let her live with them. So, she ended up coming to live with us because her dad didn't know how to say no. >> Mhm. [clears throat] And u so things were fine until like last month when she got back on Adderall and she doesn't use it like she's supposed to. She uses it like a drug addict does >> and uh so she she got this ice maker for Christmas and she won't use our water because it's well water. Mhm. >> A dog. Well, >> and uh so she I have counters. I do eBay and I do Mccari. So this counter is where I take my pictures. This counter is where all my stuff that I've listed or going to list is. >> You know, I have three counters. I you know, >> and it it's to me it's my workspace. I've been living there for 15 years. She'd been there for a few months. >> And she got this attitude that it's my dad's house. I can do whatever I want. I can move your [ __ ] I can do this. I can do that. So all these months I've been keeping it in. I say something to him and he says something to her and then that just makes her do it worse. So anyway, I had several [snorts] pieces of fenton on the counter and she moved all my stuff and put that big old ice maker there. And I asked Tim, her dad, why did she do that? A, she won't use our water. So why is she using this ice maker crusher thing, >> you know? I said, and she she has a 18 by 20 bedroom, >> you know, it's big enough to that it's like her apartment. >> I said, so why can't the ice maker go in there? And he says, okay, I'll I'll tell her. So he tells her. So what she did was moved it from one counter to another and I asked her where or he supposedly told her to put all my stuff back there and she didn't. I don't know what she did with it. I don't know where it went, you know. >> So I I came downstairs. She's out in the kitchen using this ice maker, but she's literally moved it from where she just had it today to the spot that is always clear, has nothing on it for me to do my Macari. And I said, "Why didn't you just use it right there or take it in your bedroom?" I said, "Because I need that spot to do my Mari." Well, it's my dad's house and I don't have to move. I was like, "Okay." So, um, you know, the bickering went back and forth because to me, if you're going to crush ice, that doesn't take 45 minutes. Well, finally after 45 minutes, I said, >> whoever she was talking to, she said, see, this is what I mean. I'm like, what? I just asked you if you were going to crush your ice. Leave Leave me alone. So, >> um, I said, why don't you take that ice crusher in in your room? And she goes, "Well, all your crap's in there." And mind you, I got this little corner of stuff. >> Mhm. >> You know, probably three boxes and couple >> in her bedroom. >> In her bedroom. Yeah. >> So, while she was crushing her eyes, I went in her bedroom to move my stuff. I had already taken three of the loads upstairs and there was only one load left. Mhm. >> So she I don't know if she heard me, but she was out there crushing her ice and she came in there and I'm in a corner like that like where you are and this is her door. So she comes in the door and I'm right here and grabbing my stuff and she goes, "Get out of my room." And pushed me with her shoulder. And I was like, "I'm just getting this is all I got left, Jackie. I'm just getting this and then I'll be out of your room." Mhm. >> And she grabbed stuff that wasn't even mine. And because we're this close, she's like hitting me with it. And you know, and I'm like, Jackie, that's not mine. I don't want it. >> Yeah. >> So, uh, she she pushed me again. >> And because I'm where you are and she's at the door to her bedroom, I have to get by her and she's 280, you know, and I'm 140. So, I kind of tried to squeeze by her. I still got my box in my hand and she pushes me again. So, I just went like that. I still got a box in my hand. So, I just went like that to get her out of my way. And she punched me. I had my glasses on. She broke my glasses, cut my eye, >> and so I I set the box down and I pushed her back. >> And then she punched me again. And unfortunately, I fell down. >> Mhm. and she got on top of me and just kept punching me. Pew, pew, pew. So, I I can't fight her back. I've got like zero I can't even lift my 33y old 35 lb year old granddaughter anymore because I don't have the muscle. I've got six chronic diseases. I'm not lifting a gallon of milk. And uh so she keeps punching me and I'm trying to figure out a way to stop her from punching me. And then she grabbed my neck. So when she grabbed my neck, I got my arms around her shoulders. And of course, it didn't take nothing to get that away. So I hollered to her, "Dad, it's hot at the top of my lungs. He's upstairs trying to go to bed." And she had already called him and said, >> you know, tell Sher to leave me alone. And he's like, uh, >> he's got cameras all over the house. He's got, >> you know, he can hear us. And so he told her to just forget about it and go do what she's doing and leave me alone. And uh um so by that time when I hollered for him at the top of his lungs, she was trying to get off me, but because she weighs close to 300 lb, she couldn't back off me fast enough. And her dad opened up the door and told her to leave me alone. and she got mad and um I was walking out the door and she kicked the door so it shoved me out of the room and he yelled at her and told her to knock it off and um so I told him I said I can't live with a drug addict, you know, I have a drug addict daughter of my own that I can't be around alone and not going to live and a house that I've lived in for 15 years with that kind of stress when I'm the one that's got six chronic diseases. My kidneys are shutting down. I got pancreatitis. I've got diabetes. I got [ __ ] going on that I don't need this. >> Mhm. >> And I certainly don't need to be beat up. But >> when she grabbed you in the neck, did she like put her hands around your neck or was she just like clawing at your neck? >> She was She did I don't know how her hands were. She did this with her fingered. >> Okay. >> Tips. >> Yeah, I can see a scratch and stuff on your neck. Let me >> No. >> Take some pictures. Trying to get her off of you. >> I did. Yeah. When she was when she was on me, I tried to get her off of me just cuz she was pummeling me pretty hard in both sides of, you know, [clears throat] she had already broke my glasses. So, >> and now I can't see out of my right eye. And that's from her hitting you is you can't see out of your right eye. >> Her from her hitting you is you can't see out of your right eye. >> Right there. Yeah. The blood vessels because of my diabetes. They're very very um delicate. >> Mhm. >> So like I can't lift heavy stuff. I can't bend over for long periods of time cuz the pressure would make my blood vessels break. >> Do you have any other like marks or anything like that on you? >> I haven't checked really. So, I know I got some aches and pains, you know, my shoulder hurts and the back of my head from hitting the floor when she knocked me down, but I don't think so. She pretty much would just stayed right at my face. >> Okay. And she's still at the house. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Was there too since she got out of the hospital for >> And that was a few months ago, right? >> Yeah. Yeah. She was in a coma for a couple months cuz she was so badly infected by the drugs and >> and she had to go to rehab and from there she had no nobody in the family nobody in her family would she when she punched me and I fell down I whacked my head and got a headache and >> they don't know if the broken blood vessels is from her punching me or falling down so they wanted to do a cat scan to make sure that's the only place I'm bleeding from is >> okay um And so would you for all this um we're going to try to figure it out um and probably go out there and talk to her tonight um and kind of see kind of >> she don't get up till 1 so >> up till 1:00 in like the afternoon. >> Yeah. She stays awake all night and sleeps all day. >> Okay. Um and you said you had to go to work tonight or >> No, I I wanted to work. I do eBay and Mccari. >> Oh, you want Okay, I got you. Yep. if you wanted to work at home >> that that yeah I wanted to work so she usually doesn't come out of her bedroom till midnight and >> okay >> and we're already into sleeping by then but >> my husband went to bed at 9:30 so I was going to do some Mari and >> I had that's when I noticed just when before he went to bed I was like where where'd my stuff go because I was going to do a little couple hours worth of work and He says, "I don't know." I said, "Well, somebody moved all my stuff. This whole counter was filled and now there's nothing here, you know, and I didn't visually see it anywhere." >> And so I said, "Well, you asked Jackie to bring my stuff back out >> or put it back where it belonged." >> So, >> okay. Uh, when she was hitting you, was she hitting you with a closed fist or open closed fist? Okay. Um, and on a scale of 1 to 10, how hard did her on a scale of 1 to 10, how much did it hurt when she was hitting you? >> Oh, well, you could see how swollen this hair is cuz she just kept hitting that one. And then she This one >> um was quite a three or four punches and the first one was over here that cut my eye and broke my glasses. I don't know how my ear got cut. >> Did you lose unconsciousness at all? >> No. No, I I >> just hit my head in a padded carpet floor. And you know, I do have a slight headache, but I didn't feel like, >> you know, >> you >> like I don't feel like I got brain damage or >> Okay. [laughter] >> Okay. >> All right. Um I just have to run out to my car real quick and get just a couple more things of paperwork and then I'll be back in. Okay. >> Broken. Um, I don't see that they're broken, but she could have a different pair of glasses. Are those the glasses that she broke or is it a different pair? >> No, I had these are for seeing, but because I can't see out of my right eye, everything's weird looking. >> Okay. >> Uh, ones I had are so I can look at my phone and do my >> Okay. The like blue light glasses, >> but they're prescription readers. >> Okay. And they >> um, where are those at right now? >> Um, I don't know. somewhere in the house like >> after they she broke them and they fell off my um face. She >> I I said I she said get out of my bedroom. I was already on the other side of her and I said I my glasses I can't see nothing. And uh so um I went to bend down to pick them up and she picked them up before me and and said she started to try to walk out but like I said by that time I was in front of the doorway and my [clears throat] husband had come down and uh I don't know where she was taking my glasses. Okay. Don't know what she was going to do with them. [laughter] >> So somewhere you want to press charges tonight. Yeah, I do because I I don't >> I don't feel like she's going to get any help. >> She's back on Adderall and she doesn't use it. >> They took her off of it because she's a drug addict and then for some reason she got some other doctor to give it to her. So, okay. >> And she's only been on it for a month and she her whole personality has changed in this last month. And I I don't know. Matter of fact, >> And were were you on the phone with your boyfriend when we came in? >> No. No, he was upstairs. Okay. >> I think he had already fallen asleep. >> Okay. >> And would you like an order of protection against her? >> How would that even work if we live in the same house? So, how it would work is that we could request um sometimes they don't listen to us, but it could just be a request that we have. Um if you want to, we could request that the court does a just a refrain from um you guys could still live in the same house, all that stuff. Um she would just have to refrain from um harassment, hitting, kicking, punching you, all that sort of things. Um, and if she were to do it again, then she would get arrested for um, violating that order of protection. Um, she still would be able to live in the same house. You guys would still be able to talk, stuff like that. Um, she just as soon as she would do something like this, um, it would be another charge for her. She'd be violating that order of protection. Um, or you could do the stay away, which would mean, um, that she would have to move out of the house and have absolutely no contact with you whatsoever. um no matter what. And um so we could request either one of those. Um but it's up ultimately up to the court what they decide if they want to cuz we we can request a refrain from and they decide that it's um a pretty big situation and they do a stay away or we could request a stay away and they say um no, we're just going to leave as a refrain from. Or you could um not have to request one at all, but it is an option. Yeah, I don't really know what I want to do now or I mean I don't feel stay living there now after this, you know, >> and especially with her back to using drugs. I don't care if they are prescribed to her. That's how she got into doing other stuff was >> at alcohol. Like I said, we don't allow all of our kids. No, they don't bring alcohol to our house. >> If we have a picnic and, you know, some of the sons, you know, bring a six-pack or something, you know, that that's different. But we don't >> we don't keep alcohol in the house for this reason. And >> Mhm. >> you know, I have a daughter that's an alcoholic and so everybody knows don't bring alcohol to your house. >> Yeah. >> So, but she leaves and she she left for New Year's Eve and spent it with her druggy boyfriend and he her dad thought she came home on something. >> Mhm. >> So, >> okay. >> Doesn't mean she didn't bring something into the house that we don't know about. >> Yeah. Do you So would you like for us to request one or do you want to hold off on it? >> Um, >> you can always get one or request for one later too at family court if you need to. >> I think I'm going to request it and then >> let them decide >> based on the next few days whether she or I should leave or >> Okay. Um, >> I mean it's ultimately kind of up to you what you would >> I feel like there might be some protection knowing that you know >> the verbal crap can stop you know. >> Yeah. So, for this um this is up to you, but this is going to be a medical release form just releasing medical information to us for today. Um just on like the x-rays and stuff that you got just so that way we can see um kind of the extent of the injuries that you got from her. Um that way it can build on our charges that we have for her. Are you willing to release that those >> Oh, >> those that that information today and it'll just be from today's date of that. Okay. And would you want a copy of this for your stuff or anything? Okay. All right. So, that should be everything that we need. Um, if I need any more information. Um, did they say how long you were going to be here for? >> Wait. I got to go to >> Okay. >> Okay. I know that they were um at least on the phone with some. You can go back if you want. All right. All right. So, we should be all set. Um, if I need anything or any more information, um, I'll just give you a call. Okay. You're welcome. And all your stuff is right there. >> Thank you. >> Thank you. >> Hi. >> Hi. Are you Jackie? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, you probably know why we're here, >> huh? >> Okay. We came last night, too, and nobody answered. >> Oh, I didn't even hear you last night. >> Okay. Well, we were banging around and all that last night >> in the house. No, not in the house. But we were b like we were knocking on the door. We were calling your name outside and all that. >> No, I was in the bedroom up front. I came. Okay. The only reason I seen you is cuz I was laying in the bed. >> Okay. >> You want to come in so we can shut the door? >> Oh, sure. Yep. >> So, you probably know why we're here, right? >> Yep. >> Cuz of everything that happened yesterday. >> Yep. >> Okay. So, can you tell me a little bit about what happened yesterday? >> Um How did it start? Oh. Um, hey, cuz this is all her stuff messed up and stuff, so I cleaned it off a little bit >> to put my ice maker in there. >> Mhm. >> So stupid. And um she got really pissed off. So my dad woke me up and asked me to bring it my room. So I made it a mess again. And um I was in here and I was trying to clear like make the rest of the water. I she was in here and I told her I was I was going to be a minute or so cuz I was going to do that and I was going to make something me and we just started arguing and she cornered me over there. Um we were both talking bad [ __ ] to each other. She kind of pushed me over here and I just let go and then she went into my room and started bringing stuff up in my room. I believe it was her stuff. And um when [snorts] I told her I pay rent, don't go in my room. She And I So I went in there and I started taking stuff out of my room. Well, she came back in with a baby gate and a wreath and she threw it at me and and then so she came in. I kept going out of my room, out of her room and I like I didn't want to fight her. I didn't want to get into any kind of fight with her. And she just look out in my face and I'm backed up against the wall and she keeps punching me. [gasps] I'm sure you don't want to do this. Please stop. I'm screaming for my dad. My dad was upstairs. He was sleeping. And she pushed me so hard that I fell down against the um the bike. I go and I have a fractured neck. And so I was like kind of stunned for a second and I got up and I was like really don't want to do this. I just kept thinking in my mind her she hit me. So then I back and then she we had each other. I bruise here. My nose is bruise. Um I had scratch marks when she tried to choke me. um she tried to stab me with glass from um a picture she pushed me up against. Um finally um I don't really know how it happened. I ended up on top of her. Dad came down. My shirt was off up over my head. I couldn't [ __ ] catch my breath. She's pulling my shirt off so I couldn't hit her. But I wasn't hitting her. I was just trying to get out of my [ __ ] shirt. And so he came in and I got like my sweatshirt on like that. And that was the end of the fighting. She said she had to go to the hospital cuz she couldn't see out of her eye. And I almost told him, "You might as well take both of us." He goes, "I think I'm going to need her eye, my neck." And she tried to bring things. >> Mhm. But um Oh, that was pretty. >> So, with everything that happened last night, I mean, obviously, we showed up to the hospital um and we talked to her. We got statements and stuff like that, and we I mean, we tried to come and talk to you last night, but um we couldn't get get couldn't get in touch with you. >> I really did not hear you guys knocking. I saw your lights. That's why I saw you coming. >> Okay. Um, so with everything that happened, um, we did end up having to get a warrant for you [laughter] to go. Yep. So that's what that's ex kind of what we're here for right now is that we have to take you. Okay. >> Okay. >> I mean, I know I understand that's probably not okay, too. >> Okay. Well, that's you're going to have to do that in court when you go, but what's going to happen is we're going to take you tonight and then you're going to get arraigned in the morning and >> Oh, no. No. No. I No. We have to that is no other choice. >> I swear to God I stay here. I don't leave this. >> No, that we have no other choice. I mean, once we have the warrant, we have to take you [laughter] and you'll get arraigned in the morning. >> Jail. >> Listen, you'll get arraigned in the morning and you'll most likely get released in the morning. Okay. Pending another in jail. I my body that just I can't. There's no way. >> I I have no other option. I can't just I have a warrant. I can't just let you stay at home and all that. We have to bring you in like right here. >> Can't. >> Come on. >> No. >> Yeah. He just kind >> I can't sleep in the [ __ ] jail tonight. >> Well, then stay awake. But you [snorts] got to go on. >> Damn. I can't believe you [ __ ] did this. [snorts] >> You guys did it to yourself. I don't know who started it. Oh, I know it. >> He started it by bitching about the [ __ ] ice machine. And so I painted a Mexican. >> I said I told you to put it in your room. You put it out here and it just caused trouble. [laughter] >> I can't believe anything. >> So that's that's going to be the plan for tonight. Okay. >> Whatever. >> All right. >> What am I going to do? I got put here. [laughter] I have a really Guilty. I'm wearing diaper. >> Well, we have to take you in. Okay. >> Well, I have to get dressed. >> Well, it looks like you're dressed to me. >> I'm wearing a diaper. Did you not hear me? >> I did, but >> I think you're going to hate me. Did you have a diaper? For real? >> Be respectful. >> I know. I hate that woman. Jackie, what do you have to put on in order for me to take you? >> My shoes. >> Okay, >> I guess I have to take my night medicine. >> Okay, you can do that. [laughter] >> Listen, they're going to take good care of you there. You're not going to be there for long. It's the arrangement's at 8:00 a.m. >> It's just going to hurt really [laughter] bad. >> No. Will you guys get a hold of me there? >> Yeah. she'll be able to call you and let you know when it's happening, [clears throat] but >> it it it's arraignment's at 8:00 a.m. So, >> actually being arrested at 4. >> So, it's going to be assault because of her eye. And then um >> she can't even lift 10 lbs. I don't understand how he freaking hit her that [laughter] hard. >> Well, you did because even the doctors were wanting to have her to go to strong because of it. >> That was pretty serious. >> And I felt bad today, too. Two, three. >> You can still feel bad. >> No, I don't feel bad. I feel >> Yeah, we'll be >> finding somebody else to live. >> I do feel bad, Dad. I'm not mean. I'm not a horrible. >> Just go along with this. >> All right, Jackie, we got to go. Okay. >> The quicker that we get this done, the quicker that it's over with. >> Us standing here just dragging this out isn't helping the situation at all. So, grab your shoes and Okay. Um that camera that's right there, does that record inside here? >> Yeah, it records in here. >> Is there any chance that anything last night's on that? >> There is uh the beginning of the argument. Okay. Most of what happened was in her bedroom. >> Okay. >> And no, there's no camera in there. >> Yeah, that's what she was saying that mostly happened in her bedroom. >> [snorts] >> Apparently, she's calling one of her sons. >> I'm sure. >> What do you What do you do? >> I deliver for Lowe's. >> Okay. >> We start at 6:30 in the morning. >> Oh my goodness. >> Luckily, tomorrow I'm off. >> Okay, good. >> Have to work today. >> Get a chance to catch up on >> catch up a little bit. Yeah, I hate to come out this late at night, but we kind of got tied up earlier on in the night and >> I understand it. >> All right, I do have to check you once we get out to my car. Okay. >> Are you going to kick me out if I try on her? >> No, I don't anybody else. >> All right. So, I do have to put you in cuffs. >> Really? I'll be nicer. >> Well, it's it's policy. I have to put people in cuffs when they get into my car. Okay. >> Mhm. And you said you have something wrong with your neck. Okay, I'll do it in front then. >> They're like monopolies. >> What? >> They're cuffs. >> Like monopolies? >> Yeah, they look like they're plastic. >> Oh, I can tell you they definitely are plastic. >> Oh, I know. Tell it's been a long time since I went to jail. >> All right. supposed to do that. >> Sorry. And that was rude. I didn't mean to do that. >> Come get me. >> You all set with us then? >> What? >> You all set? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Let us know if you need anything. Okay. >> She can call me in the morning. >> Yeah. So, she'll get a she she should get a phone call tonight and then um once she gets booked in and stuff like that and then she'll get a phone call tomorrow after arraignment. >> Okay. >> Okay. So once she gets arraigned, um I don't know did sometimes they issue order protection, sometimes they don't. Um that's up to the judge kind of too and how the DA wants to work that. So >> but um she'll definitely I would she'll definitely probably be out tomorrow at 8:00. So >> all right. >> Okay. >> I better get some sleep. >> Yeah, there you go. All right. I hope you have a better night. Okay. >> Thank you. >> Phone. >> What was that? >> Should I leave my phone here? You can I mean they'll give it back to you in the morning. So anything that you have on your person um they will have to take but they'll give it back to you. All right. I just got to make sure you don't have anything in your pockets. Okay. >> You have nothing that's going to poke me, stick me, hurt me, anything like that. >> Okay. >> And you said you just have your phone right there? >> Yep. >> Okay. Nothing like necklace, [snorts] anything like that? >> Luckily, I remembered I put my little watch >> in my bra earlier. >> You just have your glasses. Do you want to keep your glasses here or take them with you? >> No, I need him to see close up. >> Okay. >> So, it's going to be a little bit of a tight squeeze. You got it. >> Oh, yeah. >> All right. All right. And your phone's in here, right? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Don't scrub your glasses. >> I do my clean, too. >> Okay. >> I'll take your glasses. >> I can't bring them in with me. >> I'm just going to give them to the mannequin. >> Okay. You're just going to walk over there to them. Okay. >> Um, that's something I'll have to get with the court in the when you get rain in the morning. Okay. >> And you always said you want me to take pictures anyway. >> What? >> And my nose is all bruised. >> Okay. Let me look. [clears throat] Okay. And your neck you said? >> Yeah. My >> Yeah, I got your face. Yeah. >> Okay. Um, anything else you need for me? >> Uh, just really >> Oh, yeah. That's in my car. I can go grab that.
