As a cop, sometimes you get this feeling that there's more than meets the eye. And in today's episode, the suspect wasn't telling the full story. Take a look. You know, if you're lying to me, too. That's not a crime, right? Make sure you don't have anything else on, right? Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Okay, so the officers observe this young man walking down the street with an open alcohol container. And you know what? For the cops, that will be the least of their worries. What's your name? We shot you. Okay. You got an ID with you, man? No. You got an ID with you, man? Okay. Well, that's illegal. So, I can arrest you for that. So, I I don't know what you're talking about. All right. All right. Let me get your ID then cuz that's illegal. You can't be walking around with open arms, man. Okay. So, let me get an ID real quick. No, you do have to because that's illegal. No, I'm 18. Just turn. You're 18? Yeah. Just turn 18. Legal age limits 21 to drink. I didn't know that. And you had open container. So, come on, man. I'm going to see an ID right now. Okay. I don't have an ID. Okay. What's your name? Josh. Josh. Yes, sir. You know, you know if you're lying to me, too. That's another crime, right? Do you drive? Do you have a car? No. No. You never been issued an ID or a license or anything like that? No. No. Okay. Where you guys coming from? But I live around here. I can tell you that. Trevor from 54. Look it up. I know. I do know my laws. You know your laws? Yeah. Okay. What do you mean by that? You said I pulled it over for the entertainment. Only thing you do right now is give me a ticket. I threw it out. You said it's not the only thing I can do. It's not at the curfew. What does that mean? Cur What are you talking about curfew? I'm 18. So with that being said, yeah, you're 18. You said you admitted to drinking. Okay. And and then you're walking around with an open container and you got more. So that's definitely illegal detainment, huh? Do you have somebody else? No. I I just want to know like No, no, no. What What's the problem? Signal 10. I can just start at third over here. So what's the problem, sir? Well, I ran your name. I'll make sure that you're that you're good to go. Okay. So you ran it. It's been what? How long? I don't My dispatch is the one that does, right? We don't. So stop it. I gave you your name. So unless you're lying to me, you know, I like No, not my problem. My thing is my dad a lawyer. I've been through this [ __ ] before. I know how. Okay. Say it again. My dad's a lawyer. Where did she go? I know the law literally back and forth. Okay. So if you know the law back and forth, why do you think I can't detain you for having open? Cuz that's the whole reason why I stopped you. You give me a ticket. I never I I have not given you a ticket. No, no, no. You can give me a ticket. You're right. I can Yeah, you can't detain. You're detained right now. meaning you're not free to go, right? Okay. So, I'm not free to go. No, you're not. Okay. So, you have a legal detainment and one of the things that you definitely want to do is take off that jacket, right, drape that's over his forearm and maybe put it on the hood because what you want to do is you want to be able to handcuff the suspect considering there is going to be an arrest. Okay. That gives the officers a position of advantage and that's very, very important knowing you don't know what's going to happen next. All right, Josh. I see you got another bottle of water there. Anything else you got on you shouldn't have? I cuz I love it. Okay. But you just said you're 18, so you're not legally allowed to have it. And you're right. I'll throw this out, too. Same way. Okay. I can't. It's trash is right here. No, not right now. I'll throw it though. Not right now. No. No. No. I would not. No. Don't throw it cuz if it breaks, it's in the grass. Come on, man. You not You're not dumb. Don't Don't throw it out already. Come on, man. You're not done. I would throw it out so y'all can see. No, I can't say. Say I can't say Hold on. Do this. Do this. Open it and pour it out. Don't throw it out. Well, so you can't say that I Very good directions. No. All right, man. Do you got anything else on you? Right. No. No. All right. So, just to make sure I'm I'm just hope not. They got to pat you down. Okay. Just to make sure I'm going to pat you down. Okay. Here we go. No, sir. I know my my my right. There's backup. Do not pat me down. Keep your hands up. I'm going to make sure you don't have anything else. All right. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop moving. Do not run. Do not stop. Do not stop. I do not consent to stop. I do not. Stop reaching. I do not reach up here. I do not consent to search. Stop. I do not consider stop. I do not. Quit moving your [ __ ] hands. Stop. Quit moving your hands. Whatever's coming to reop. I do not consent to search. Oh [ __ ] Put your hands behind your back now. I do not consider other hand. Okay. So look, any use of force is not textbook and it looks ugly, right? And so the main goal to affect an arrest is to definitely handcuff the suspect with his hands and his back. And that at times is very difficult to do as you can see. And they tried really really hard and they're doing a really good job in trying to detain him affecting arrest and move on with their investigation. Stop moving. Do you want to get Do you want to get I do not. Do you want to get Do you want to get Do you want to get the first? I think he's got to go. He's got He's got to go. No, I don't have a gun. No, I don't have a gun. If you don't stop, I'm going to you. I'm not reaching. Stop. Stop. Stop. Come on, dude. Chill. I got I got him. I got his right. I got his right arm. Please stop. Yeah. Come on now. Okay. He's fine. He's fine. Are you good? Okay. Are you done? Okay. I can't breathe. I got Look, look at my Look under my shirt. Okay. Just sit up. 17. I can't sit up. I can't breathe. F. We'll get you an ambulance. Is there another one running? No, no, no, no. Oh, there was he had someone else. Oh, he had a a big chunk of chunky dude sword. Black short. Yeah, male Hispanic. I can't breathe. Please. Please. Look. Look at my hand. Look how tight. We got We have Sit up then. Yeah. Sit up. Come on. You're sitting on your on your one arm. That's said you can't feel. Okay. Sit like this. down. Just don't move. Just stay like that. Stay like that. Please, please, my shot. Please. Please. I'm once again. Please. Please. My hand. Home. Ambulance is coming, my man. Please. No. No. No. My f y'all not see. Please. Do y'all not see how tight it is, folk, man. Okay. So, what you have going on right now is that you definitely want to give him medical treatment, right? So, the ambulance is on their way. Now, what has to happen is to get him clear. So, he's going to have to go to the hospital and after that, once he's clear, we're going to go ahead and move forward with the booking procedures. You were [ __ ] us. It took five of us. I'm not trying to I've been having a seizure this whole time. I'm trying to tell y'all. Is that what you call [ __ ] us? Fall. Name's Josh. Josh. What's up, Josh? He started seizing. I got not listening. I'm listening. You got 17 times. Okay. Sleep on my shirt. Yo, listen. I can't breathe. All right, man. Let's get off. Captain, we're going to get you stood up and let's get you set on the cow. Okay. Got everything else checked out. Hold on. Hold on. You can stand up on your own. It's going to be a lot more comfortable that way. I promise you. Okay. We're going to get you all checked out. Bend your knees. Yep. Bend this knee. Pull up more. There you go. Ready? Down. Two. Three. That's what I mean. Sooner we get back in the That's easy. All right. Hit your head. Stand up. One, two, three. All right, man. This is Josh. Listen, man. Those ghosts, those are only going to hurt you more the more you resist them. We're trying to make it so that we if you're decent with everybody. Do you need me? We can figure something else out. Did you win the serial number on this, too? Yeah. Oh, it's scratched off. I know. What is this? The [ __ ] Springfield Hellcat. It's a Hellcat. I think so. Right. Yeah. Springfield. Then can you just make a note on the 32 with the serial number scratched off? Okay. As I mentioned before, what ends up happening is not only having an open alcohol container, but he also has a firearm that they found uh in his persons, right? So now you're looking at multiple ultimal criminal charges. And so the most important part that you also need to know is those handcuffs and him going to the hospital. They're not comfortable and they weren't meant to be comfortable. Believe it's a Springfield Hellcat. Just relax, dude. You need to cooperate with trying to get you the help that you need. All right, man. Just relax, dude. All right, man. No, we're coming to you, man. Go. Someone else want to come with me? At least meet me at the hospital. So, he's going to be a problem once we try to get that in my car, so I got to get him anyway. Yeah. All right, cool. I'll be right in the ambulance. Come on. Get out of my [ __ ] [ __ ] He going back left side heard. I'm not on [ __ ] All right, just stay there. All right, that's close. I'm not going. Stop. You've already ran twice now, so obviously we don't trust you anymore. Let's go. The officer is right. There is no trust. Uh the fact that uh Joshu is just uh acting completely uncooperative, very aggressive, very combative, escaped twice. Uh now the time is on your hands. So the officers want to be able to make sure that you know what, we got to get him back in the hospital again. He has to be clear medically before we move forward with the booking procedures. Come on, bro. You doing that [ __ ] on purp. What's up? Is he going? This is my 111. So, okay. What are we doing? Going back. Is he discharged? Is he discharged from the hospital? Oh, he's not discharged. He's not discharged. So, we tried to run. Okay. Set him up. Okay. Come on, guys. You know what? Can we get a wheelchair? Stand by. Stand by. Stand by. Stand by. Okay. Yeah. Make sure he's double charge, buddy. talking to you. I'm not talking. Well, now you're awake. No, I'm talking that pass out. Let him go, [ __ ] Go, [ __ ] Let him go. Let him go. Put him up. Go. I can talk. I just put him up. Put him up. All right. All right. Put it up. Come on. Let my hand Let my foot up. Put it down. Turn it down. He got it up. Literally put it down. I'm trying. Look. I'm trying to. He got it up. Let it go. So I put it down. Relax. Let it go. Put it up. Another option that the officers have is what we call the Hubble restraint device. that particular control device, you can wrap like this belt, if you will, around his legs so you can control it. And perhaps maybe they should have done that in the beginning when he was on the ground over there in the streets when he was detained. But as you can see, when you don't have control of the legs, a lot can happen. You can't really control the situation as we're moving forward into the hospital. And again, got to get clear and make sure that we get him booked. What number? 15 right here. Does he need any more any more treatment or is he good to go? Yeah, we can do that. You don't got to I mean I don't even try to run out of shift [ __ ] tweaking. This why I've been at [ __ ] Don't go back to my bed. Stay in the chair. [ __ ] it. Stay in the chair. You don't touch me. I'm going to put cuffs on you, which means I got C on me, [ __ ] How many [ __ ] going to do? I got on me, [ __ ] I'm coughing the chair. Take your [ __ ] off, bro. Why you don't do that? Do not do that. Do not [ __ ] I'm in cuff. Don't do that. Pull his leg out from under his leg out. He got my neck right there. He got my neck. That's the wheelchair. Come on, [ __ ] Go. Locking my wheels by locking. Hey, boy. Let me go, boy. Let me go for him, bro. Hey, bro. Let me go, boy. Can this get out of the way, bro? Let me go, bro. You're going to kill us. I'm not let you go. I'm not going to kick out. Oh, bro. As you can see, nothing about this is easy, right? Anytime that you use force, you're trying to detain someone who's completely uncooperative and combative. Some situations are going to happen like this. And so what we're trying to do is get him into the gurnie, get him the necessary medical treatment that Josh needs. Okay. The ultimate goal is to put him in jail, right? We got to go through the booking procedures and hope that we could get to that point. All right. Out. Okay. Just relax the out of me twice. Yeah. Hobble him and maybe even put a spit bag cuz you never know if he's going to spit on you or not. Let me know. But they're doing a great job now. This one's mine. Put right there. Yeah. Okay. So, he's medic cleared. All right. Stop the door. Shut the [ __ ] door. Mission accomplished. Let's take him to jail. Okay, so Josh turns out to be 23-year-old Elijah. And he was charged with the following: aggravated battery on a peace officer, multiple counts. Possession of a weapon, multiple counts, and aggravated use of a weapon. He was held in the detention facility until pending his hearing. The judge ordered Elijah to stay in the detention facility until his hearing data is due. Okay, so that's super important to know. Now, this is a very unfortunate incident because we want to know and make sure that Elijah is going to be healthy, right? He's going to get some help that he needs. He's 23 years old and he's drinking in public. Those are things that you definitely want to fix because we just don't want to put him in jail and just wipe our hands and not see Josh get better and get healthier, right? That's super important. As for the officers, outstanding work. The officers did a great job. Okay, we'll see you on the next breakdown.
