On March 26th, 2025, officers were dispatched to a car dealership in response to a report of a woman mishandling a dog on the showroom floor. Before officers were able to make contact, the woman fled the scene and was located moments later in a nearby parking lot. >> What do you mean why now? You ran away and can't we can't just figure this out. >> Well, hopefully I can't get into this car. Keys are in it. >> Keys are in it. Is the dog in it? >> Huh? He's sleeping though. >> Okay. I can't even run around like crazy. >> And someone swiped my f at the dealership while it was getting an oil change. Well, that's a problem. >> They gave it back to you though, right? >> Who cares? Everything I own and love is in that car, including a firebag. >> Okay. >> You're going to steal her from her parents who live in the Chicago area? Well, I guess I better get on a flight and go straight back to Arkansas. So, it creates confusion. They're like, "Oh, don't worry about it. We're trying to get him to come back. I'm like, it's a guy. I'm like, my soccer from Arkansas did actually follow me all around. >> So, I went back over to McGrath and I talked with them. You sure there wasn't anything that happened inside the inside the dealership that >> I was waiting to pay the cashier. >> Did at any point did you What's the dog's name? >> Orion. >> Orion. At any point, did you pick Orion up by the leash and hang Orion by the the leash by his his neck? >> Well, potentially, but he's got a martingale collar, so that's flipped off and over. >> So, if I pick him up and hold him, it's because it's into one of these cuz he's still a puppy, so he's got extra skin. >> So, if I do need to get up and run, >> you know, which I've been doing for years. >> Showroom wise, >> the there's I saw some video. What about the the the hitting the dog with Orion with the your green bag? >> Did you hit hit Orion at all? >> No. >> Okay. >> The the It's not green, it's purple. >> Okay. >> His lead swings to help him stay in front. It's He's a puppy. Do I abuse my dogs? >> Thanks, employer/ fiance. >> So, >> if you're going to give them to anybody, it's going to be him. >> Okay. So, I'm going to let you finish that and then I'm going to explain What's going to happen here? >> Well, he's hungry, too. >> What's that? He can eat his sandwich and that's fine. >> So, someone stole it and I still have to pay the [ __ ] price for it. Are you kidding me? This is why I don't come to St. Charles. I'm a private property. Call the bank owner. >> Okay. Eat your sandwich. >> Okay. Eat your sandwich. >> The answer is no. You may not. >> Finish your food. Yes. I'm going to arrest you. >> Nope. >> You're going to be under arrest. Animal cruelty. Animal cruelty. >> Please take him to your house. >> He's He's going to go with us. >> He's going to go to a vet and be evaluated. >> I need two cups or you're going to dislocate my shoulder. >> Okay, I'll do a second call for you. Just hold on. >> Throw all of it in the gloves in the bag and go home and take care of my dogs. Okay. It's probably going to take me probably a half hourish to to to care take care of everything, but >> I can give you I have your cell number. I can give you a call if you want to do that. >> I know. Look at me when I speak you. You have until tomorrow morning as the sun comes up. You're you're going to be released here in like I said about a half hour, 45 minutes and he can come pick you up and you guys can figure that out. But I'm we're going to get into the car and then obviously like I said I'm going to take custody of the dog. >> Michael, don't forget my gloves. Okay. >> Don't forget all the food. We go and take care of the puppies. Okay. Anyway, which one? >> This one right here. >> The blue ride is nowhere. Great. Wanted an oil change. He was right. Don't go there. Understood. Now anyway, doesn't matter. It's going to not work like it should. >> Are you able to scoot over just a little bit more so we can try to >> Yeah. Are we arresting someone else today? >> Well, I'm trying to put their seat belt on. That's why. >> Oh. If I if I if you crash, I'm going straight to death. Anyway, let me just loosen this up a little bit for you. The the dog is going to go to DuPage Animal Control and they're going to take protective custody of it. And obviously, if you want to you can call them and see if you can get me a dog for yourself, but that'll be up to them on on how they want to handle it. Obviously, depending on the condition of the dog, you know, if there's no obvious injuries or anything like that, if there is injuries to him, like then we're going to take them straight to the emergency vet and we'll figure that out. But, you know, we got to figure it all out. I will give you a call here whenever she's ready. Like I said, it's probably be 45 minutes. I got to do just complaints and fingerprint and then she'll be released. So, but obviously the dog is the other issue that we got to deal with. So, get Uh just did >> are they able to get in the car? >> We can get in the car if somebody with the the kit comes out. If you somebody grabs a like the lockout kit. >> Okay. >> Um otherwise we'll we'll have to That's the county boundary. Damn, that's a huge access point. Just truck everybody right up here. Well, at least I got to eat. >> Thanks. >> That's what I was trying to finish because >> I don't abuse him. I abuse myself. That's why. No one believes me anyway. So, why start telling the truth now? Wouldn't make a difference. Oh, homeless Dave. Dave would have been proud of me. I would have shared that meal with them for sure. But we all know homeless Dave. [snorts and clears throat] At least he died being taken care of. But hey, my employer/ fiance up here since no one down in Arkansas listened to me or my brother. At least it's not drunk driving. [ __ ] >> That's a good thing. I'm glad you weren't drunk, right? >> I mean, no [ __ ] I spent 20 years in and out of Hey, I get it. Don't Don't drive drunk. Got it. Don't kill anybody, including yourself. I'm like, who cares if I kill myself? If I hit and kill somebody, don't worry. There won't be any victim impact panel in this town. What the is Sally? Port North Maintenance. Maintenance North the doors. Who named those doors? >> Well, it's Sally Port and it's on the north side of the building. So that's >> So it's all about boats anyways. Well, planes, trains, and automobiles. [laughter] And I guess he's Steve Martin and I'm I'm John Goodman. [laughter] Or the other way around. You going to leave me in here and crack a window, please? You're going to let me out, right? Uh-oh. [snorts] I just do it by myself just to hurt anyways. Shoulders are Yeah. Thanks for
