This woman turned a routine dentist appointment into felony charges. [screaming] Stop. All I asked was just for my documentation about what happened here and what went on and they refused to give me my paperwork and that's all I asked. That's it. I don't understand why it's a problem or an issue for me to get my documentation of what happened today. Did I refuse to give it to you? Yes, you refused to give it to me and you told me not. I said no. I said she just left the chair. I was unable to have documentation until I finish until I compile it. I asked her if she would like to come back for it. Okay. Then she can come back for it. Okay. Do you understand her? No. No. Ma'am, please. Because I was sitting here. I'm not going to argue with you. I'm not trying to argue with you, ma'am. Just She said that you could have the documentation. Just not right now. Just how you allowed her to talk. I'm asking for the same respect. All right. Let's go outside and talk. I'm asking for the same respect. Why is that an issue that I'm asking for the same respect that you just gave to this woman, but you're not giving it to me? Okay. What? What's going on? The problem is I was sitting down, okay, waiting to get the documentation. Before I got the documentation, which was asking for the things that were done here today, they told me, "Oh, you don't have to pay. You can just leave. It doesn't matter." They told me I didn't have to pay. I could just leave. When I told them I had the money to pay for today and what happened today and so, so what's the issue? The issue is all I want is documents that happened today so that way I can take it and I can get the work done that I need it done. You heard what she said, right? You can get it later. I But why is it an issue for me to get? Okay. All right. Can you hang up the phone? He's not part of this right now. Okay. So, I can come back later and pick them up. I told her I would mail them to her address because I don't have an address on and I asked her to write it down. Pick up the phone. This person's not a part of it. Okay. All right. So, you're going to have to leave the property now. If you come back here and cause more issues, we're going to have a bigger issue. Okay. They do not have the documents ready for you right now. And that's the end of it. Yeah, that's it. Cool. Okay, but what was it? Cuz they don't have an address or a place to send it to. Can you give her one? Why? They they already told me I can I have to leave. I have to leave the premises right now. You want If you want them sent to you, then give them the address. It's very simple. Did you notice when she went like this to the officer? I kind of did. You know what? It's escalating. Our job is to deescalate. That's what we're trying to do here. And by the way, there is no crime. There's no reasonable suspicion. There's no PC to arrest. Nothing going on right now. However, yeah, man, people call 911 for all kinds of reasons. I mean, in this channel, we've done DUIs, traffic stops, you know, things that you would call the police for. This is a new one. I can tell you all the years in patrol that I've worked in LAPD, I've never responded to a dentist office uh to kind of deescalate or come to an agreement or a resolution for uh documents, right? Your paperwork that you need. I don't know. Let's see what happens. They just told me to leave the mailed. Well, it's going to take me a minute to do it. And the way she was acting, I couldn't have her. If you guys are sitting here with her, I'll do it. I don't care. That's what she does. That's fine. Stay here while you're here. I'm going to I'm just When I can come back and pick up my documentation, I will come back. She's going to print it up right now. Okay. All right. Just come outside. When we use force, it's for the three reasons mainly, right? To affect an arrest, prevent an escape, and overcome resistance. We're getting there. Trespass is at issue, which means that it's an arrestable offense depending on the circumstances and your actions from this point forward to see if we're going to go ahead and fetch that arrest. She did a great job trying to maintain some level of patience, right? Or tolerance, I should say, to not go hands-on, right? Not the fact. And it doesn't work out that way, especially when you start thinking about is the juice worth the squeeze. I mean, that's what it really comes down to, right? I mean, just follow orders, comply. It seems as though maybe when you transport the suspect, you know, the arrestee, uh, you want to get her medical treatment, right, and get cleared and maybe perhaps they can do a diagnosis of uh some mental wellness. Maybe she was having a mental episode. I don't know. I'm just throwing that out there to know that this is just not normal behavior. I mean, uh, something triggers her, uh, to the point where she just has to chip away and chip away. So, just some thoughts to share. I don't know. You tell me what you think. Get back in. Uh first and foremost, big shout out to Panelis County Sheriff's Office for again uh the tolerance to have a resolution, deescalation, and being professional throughout the entire incident. Look, what I will say is this as a final lesson is cops are in the business of responding to crisis. And you know what? We try to do our best uh to maintain our composure and uh sometimes if you don't comply, this is what happens. Okay, hope you learned something. Okay, so Karina was charged with trespassing and resisting an officer with violence, which is the felony. Okay, she did take a plea. That felony got knocked down and she pled to disorderly conduct, resisting without violence and trespassing. She served 5 days in jail, which was considered time served, plus a few hundred in fines.
