On November 17th, 2025, an officer on routine patrol observed a vehicle fail to stop at a red crosswalk signal. The officer activated emergency lights in an attempt to initiate a traffic stop. However, a motorcyclist ahead failed to yield and move out of the way. >> That means move. Move to the right. Now I need you to stop. Stop. >> Come on, Paul 71. Copy 10-50. Pulled in off the Boulevard by the Keys Federal Credit Union. Come back to a red motorcycle, occupied one time. Failure to move out of the way for an emergency vehicle. >> How are you doing, sir? >> What's up, man? >> My name's Officer Andrade with the Key West Police. >> Copy. >> So, I originally was not pulling you over. However, you failed to get out of my way when I clearly had my lights and siren on and vocally told you, "Move to the right." Okay? >> Okay. >> So, that's why I'm now pulling you over. So, for failure to get out of the way of an emergency vehicle. So, I need your driver's license, your registration. >> That matters. You You mind if I respond to you? >> Yeah, but give me your driver's license and registration first. >> doing that. I have no I have no problem doing that whatsoever. >> Okay, good. So, let me have that first and then >> Bro, the question like it's a little To be 100% honest with you, I wasn't like evading or nothing like that. >> say you were evading. I said you were failing to get out of my way. >> give me 1 second. >> Okay, let me have your driver's license first. >> 100% God damn, this is crazy. Like I I don't usually even get irritated by getting pulled over. This is This is less. I I was trying to stop because that bike was coming across and I didn't know I'mma give you what my opinion was. >> Hold on 1 second. >> Yeah, go ahead. >> Go ahead. All right, go ahead and give me your registration. >> No, I got you. So, I'mma get I'mma give you what what my opinion was. You when you hit your lights, it had nothing to do with me like not trying to stop or get out your way. I stopped because I know the thing was crossing and I know somebody was coming across the street. So, legit I was just waiting until the person crossed cuz I knew I shouldn't go over. You know what >> Yeah, no. I didn't want you to go forward. I wanted you to go to the right so I could go around you. >> Yeah, like that. That's what I'm saying. I didn't By the I caught what you said, go to the right, and then I'm like, "Okay, he's trying to go around." Like I I There was no ill intent. >> So, then why didn't you go to the right? You stayed. >> I'm telling you like sir, I I get what you're saying. What's What's frustrating about this for me is I get as a cop you're looking for like road infractions and I'm telling you in a moment's instance when you flashed your lights on, all I'm thinking is I see the blinkers for the pedestrian crossing. >> Well, it was already red. >> Sir, I'm not Listen, I 100% I am not disputing anything you're saying. I I want you to understand that. You can look at my record, I don't have any infractions. As a matter of fact, I might >> You just got pulled over yesterday, I believe. >> 100% I got pulled over last night on this on this damn bike that idles very high and I was at a stop sign and I rolled around. There was nobody out there and I explained to the young lady. Just now when that light hit and I think I was just about to say I think he pulled me over like a month or something ago when I had to get my motorcycle license or something. >> I don't recall. >> But nonetheless, man, I'm I'm just being genuine with you. The registration's right here. I'm being genuine with you. I was I was waiting just because of the damn person in the road and I didn't want to like bump into anything. So, I was figuring when they get across, I'll do whatever cuz I figured your interest is the same as mine as far as not who I hit whoever the hell's crossing the road. You see what I'm saying? >> Yeah, but you're on a motorcycle at a complete stop. You could have just rolled off to your right. There was plenty of distance for you to get to the right. >> I don't know what you said. I'm literally like sir, I just didn't want to block traffic and all that. Like if you were pulling me over for instance, I wouldn't have stayed right there. >> Traffic was stopped. There was none of you you wouldn't have been blocking traffic. You were blocking me is what you were doing. >> All right. All right. I don't I don't you're not you're not hearing what I'm saying, but it's okay. >> Just stay there. Do me a favor and please stay off your phone. >> I'm not trying to run from the law. >> What's up, man? Just stay with them. He's being a little a little like he's irritated and being a little confrontational. This is now the third time he's been stopped. He told me about the first time I stopped him. I remember he actually didn't have a motorcycle endorsement. I gave him a break. This time we're over here at the uh at the pedestrian crossing. It's red. The car in front of him goes through it. So, I want to go pull the car over. Turn on my lights and siren and he doesn't move. I vocally tell him with my PA move to the right. Still doesn't do anything. So, and then finally he goes. All right, Antonio. So, and then I got your documents. I didn't listen. I didn't think you were trying to be a piece of [ __ ] all right? But I do think you're a little argumentative and you, you know, everything is something else's fault and not yours directly. Even when you told me about the stop sign, you're like, "Oh, but there was nobody there and this and that." All that's irrelevant. >> told the lady it was >> I know. But what I'm saying is you didn't need to add, "But there was nobody around and this and that." That's like saying like, "I did it, but it was okay that I did." That's what you're saying indirectly. >> No, it's not. That's putting words in my mouth. >> No, it's it's indirectly what you're insinuating. >> I disagree with >> Because Well, you can disagree all you want, but a normal person who is truly accepting of blame would not then put the excuse after it, okay? That's just not normal. All right? So, forget about that, okay? Because that has That's indirectly uh it's doesn't have to do with this. That just gives me a little insight into you. And then as when you're talking to me, you're telling me you're like, "I understand what you're saying, but at the same time telling me I'm wrong." All right? So, this is this Okay? So, listen. Listen to me. Listen, okay? >> Yeah. >> And when I gave you a verbal command, even over the PA, you didn't even acknowledge that you heard me like, you know, "Hey," like anything. You just ignored me the whole time. >> literally cuz if I take my hand off I will show you and I couldn't if I leave my hand off it that damn dirt bike is going to jerk. >> Okay. >> That's literally why >> What about the other hand? >> The other one is out of the way. >> What about the other hand? >> I'm literally trying to hold steady. I'm I'm I'm being honest and human with you. So, to me, to my impression, your blue lights simultaneously hit at the same time. I'm just seeing that flashing so a person's going to cross. >> Okay, so So, that's incorrect, okay? That's incorrect. >> I'm telling you I said from a human. So, if my recount is incorrect, I have no issue >> was already red. >> Okay, I'm wrong. >> Okay. So, here's your documents. Here's your documents. And I do remember the last time that I pulled you over and you did You were riding a motorcycle without a license and I could have arrested you and I didn't. So, that speaks to me being a fair shooter, all right? And now that we're here and this is now number three, I am issuing you citation for failing to move out of the way of an emergency vehicle. So when an emergency vehicle has their lights on, has their siren on, your job is to safely move to the right, which you had plenty of room to do. Okay, because I was trying to pull over the person in front of you who ran the red light. That's how when you're saying like, "Oh, your lights came on when it was flashing." It wasn't flashing. It was already red. >> crossing the road. So it's fine, man. I I'll take the ticket. >> So So here's the citation. >> I told you I told you remember what I was talking about. Respect goes both ways, man. I haven't broken >> So here's the citation. >> Respect goes both ways, man. >> I haven't disrespected you at all. All right? So right here, I just put a little note, okay, did not move over uh to the right after lights and sirens and or verbal uh commands, okay? Failed to yield to an emergency vehicle. That's the statute, 316.126.1A. There's options on the back here, okay? There's six options. You can read them, decide what you want to do. This is not required a court appearance. The fine is $166. If you have any questions, you can call that number there. You have to decide what you want to do with this ticket within 30 days. Do not let 30 days pass without doing anything. If you do, they're going to suspend your license. All right? So whatever you decide to do, decide to do it within 30 days. Do you have any questions about the citation? >> I don't have any questions about the citation. >> Okay. Here you are. >> I will say that if if I'm blue lighted again at in a human stance feeling like I'm simultaneously seeing blue lights and a pedestrian crosswalk, my reaction is probably going to be the same to yield to the whoever's probably either on a bike or on foot. That is what I was trying to do. I I wasn't trying to get in your way. But whatever, man. I I don't I literally don't care about the ticket. I don't care about paying the ticket. I'm probably going to pay this tonight. This [ __ ] doesn't bother me. I just I wanted you to hear me. Like you you >> I did hear you. >> No, you didn't. Like >> I just didn't agree with you. >> You don't have to agree with me, but part of listening is actively hearing and not listening to respond. You listening to respond. Like, that's what I'm saying and that's what's frustrating. >> No, I'm listening to hear your point of view. You gave it to me several times and I just simply just I I respect your view. I just don't agree with it. That's all that it is. >> would be letting me finish what I'm saying before you start. >> You've saying the same thing over and over and over again. >> All right. >> Okay, so do you have any other Do you have any questions? Okay, so then we're done. You dropped your wallet there. Please ride safely. >> Have a nice one. >> Do you think the driver's explanation justified his decision not to move for the emergency vehicle or should he have complied immediately once the officer activated their lights?
