Wednesday, May 11th, 2022, undercover officers at the Spanish Willow Apartments were already waiting on a wanted parole absconder when a battered black Chevrolet Impala suddenly rolled out of the complex. Troopers quickly realized the driver had no intention of cooperating once the attempted stop turned into a reckless escape toward Interstate 30. Hey, break break All right. Hands. Hands. The black Impala eastbound on Firestone Road. Hands. Hands. Hands. Hands. Hands. Hands. Don't move. Give me your hands. Give me your hands. She's crying. Hold on. Hold on. Come on. Give me your hands. You got her hands. GIVE ME YOUR HANDS. GOT HER HANDS. GOT HER HANDS. DAMN IT. LET ME SEE YOUR HANDS. All right. YES, SIR. GOT HIM ON THE SHIRT. Just relax. You're going to BE ALL RIGHT. INVESTIGATORS LATER DISCOVERED Reeves had allegedly lied about his identity while carrying an empty Glock magazine. And by the end of the night, Reeves was booked into Pulaski County jail on charges including felony fleeing possession of a firearm by certain persons, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, plus multiple traffic violations, and outstanding warrants from both Arkansas and Texas. Late on the night of November 24th, 2023, a green Dodge Challenger seemed ready to cooperate after being pulled over on Interstate 630 for following another vehicle too closely. That illusion lasted only a few seconds before the driver suddenly floored it while Trooper Blaine Lucas was still walking up to the passenger side. 2024 Turn right right on South Loop. >> [screaming] >> He's on 30. He's bound He's on 30. >> The chase ended without the suspect in custody after the fleeing driver disappeared following a reckless run through Little Rock streets and highways at speeds reaching roughly 140 miles per hour. Trooper Lucas was transported to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences for evaluation after his patrol unit slammed into a concrete wall while attempting to stay with the pursuit. On June 27th, 2022, Arkansas State Police found themselves chasing a driver who treated highway traffic like a personal obstacle course. Trooper Stevenson stayed patient while the suspect sliced through lanes aggressively enough to put surrounding drivers in immediate danger. >> [music] >> It's successful. Now, put your hands up. Get out of the car, now. Get out OF THE CAR, NOW. GET YOUR HANDS UP. GET YOUR HANDS UP. HANDS OUT OF THE CAR. PUT IT IN PARK AND GET THE HELL OUT. HEY, HE SAID HANDS UP. HANDS UP. GET ON THE GROUND. GET ON THE GROUND. FLAT ON THE GROUND. Seconds after the pursuit finally came to a stop, troopers surrounded the disabled vehicle and quickly took the driver into custody before another escape attempt could happen. The incident became widely circulated online because of the unusually clean and controlled ending with viewers pointing to Trooper Stevenson's precision driving under real traffic conditions. April 30th, 2023, turned into a frustrating game of cat and mouse for Arkansas State Police after a fleeing pickup truck repeatedly survived multiple intervention attempts. Every time troopers thought they had the truck under control, the driver somehow regained traction and kept charging down the highway. Throw your hands! Hey guys. Throw your hands! >> [screaming] >> Eventually, troopers managed to gain control of the situation after persistence and coordinated driving finally overwhelmed the fleeing truck. The pursuit drew attention online because several early attempts nearly failed completely, giving the suspect a few dramatic moments where it looked like escape was actually possible. On August 29th, 2022, Arkansas State Police somehow turned a dangerous pursuit into something that sounded like the world's loudest road trip playlist. Inside the patrol car, rock music blasted while troopers calmly tracked a suspect weaving through highway traffic at high speed. Hey. >> Okay. Okay. I turn left. Okay. 8 5 2 9 on the track. Okay, that's right. 8 5 2 7 What is your name? 8 3 1 Okay. Hey, turn up on the wire. Turn up on the wire. Uh this is your wire. 1 8 3 8 3 0 8 3 0 >> [screaming] >> This wire car is going 8 15 No traffic behind. Traffic on Traffic behind. Going in the parallel lane. 8 25 There is no traffic. This wire car going 8 15 8 15 8 15 Hey, turn Turn back on track. >> The pursuit wrapped up almost instantly once troopers positioned themselves correctly and spun the suspect vehicle out before surrounding it for the arrest. Viewers later flooded the video with comments about the bizarre contrast between the relaxed soundtrack and the very real danger unfolding on the roadway. June 27th, 2023 began with another high-speed pursuit involving Arkansas State Police, but this one ended with debris scattered across the roadway after a violent crash. Troopers closed in quickly while the suspect continued driving recklessly enough for officers to warn that somebody could easily have been seriously hurt. Let me know when you're out, sir. Give me your 10-44, please. >> Let me SEE YOUR HANDS. LET ME SEE your hands. LET ME SEE YOUR [ __ ] HANDS. GET OUT THE CAR. HANDS. HANDS. HANDS. GET ON THE GROUND. GET ON THE GROUND. GOT ME COVERED? WHAT'S WRONG with you, man? Could have killed somebody yourself. Yeah. Once the wrecked vehicle finally stopped shedding parts across the roadway, officers pulled the driver out at gunpoint and secured the scene within seconds. Troopers could be heard afterward discussing the severity of the crash while checking injuries and taking the suspect into custody. Sunday, April 23rd, 2023. A routine speeding stop involving Preston Hilliard in a blue Honda Accord started unraveling the moment deputies noticed how nervous the driver appeared during questioning. Things escalated instantly after Hilliard was asked to step out of the car and allegedly decided fleeing sounded like the better option. No, man. You got to step out for me real quick. Step out? Yeah. All right. 10-19 open 10-37 10-37. Break break channel 4 clear. >> All right. We're hitting a U-turn here in Louisville. 10-18. Running behind Town's house. Running behind Police later tracked Hilliard down inside a nearby residence after he crashed into three vehicles >> [music] >> and a house before running on foot through Lewisville. Hilliard was booked on charges including felony fleeing, possession of firearms by certain persons, first-degree criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a minor, reckless driving, and multiple stop sign violations. On July 19th, 2022, Arkansas State Police chased a fleeing truck driver who turned interstate traffic into complete chaos while speeds climbed well past 100 mph. Troopers repeatedly tried to stop the truck as the driver swerved wildly, blasted through intersections, and nearly caused several catastrophic collisions. Police still traveling at 80. Speed's 95. He's got to still swerve. Still a lot of traffic. Coming up to the city limits. Speed's 80. Vehicle 921 on the freeway. 21 1 is taking a little break. I mean, we run 130 mile an hour from the state line, okay? Before Oklahoma even gets involved. Oklahoma's in in in way before we were, okay? This This it all kicked off pretty quick. I'm playing, baby. I'm not playing. I'm not playing. Just just just I'm not playing. Hold on. After the truck was finally disabled and surrounded, officers discovered suspected methamphetamine while the detained driver bizarrely attempted to contact a woman from the back of the patrol car to sort out his legal problems. Troopers also learned multiple people inside the truck were connected to the trip from Dallas, adding another layer of confusion to an already chaotic pursuit. July 23rd, 2022 started with a violent crash after witnesses reported a speeding vehicle smashing into traffic at what looked close to 100 mph before limping into a nearby Circle K parking lot. Troopers arriving on scene quickly shifted focus toward a possible impaired driving investigation after speaking with the driver. You all right, buddy? You all right? Do you need an ambulance? Are you just drunk? Yep, drunk. Do you got somewhere else to stay? You got somewhere else to stay? Where are you staying at? You got somewhere to stay, man? You got somewhere to stay? Hey. Hey. Hey. I I told my he was going to get out of the car. I said, "Don't get out of the car." Okay. Um Do you all want to stay here? Do you have time? We can stay here. You want to put them on the back of my feet? >> Officers eventually placed the driver under arrest after field sobriety exercises raised further concerns about impairment following the crash investigation. Thankfully, despite the violent collision and heavy vehicle damage, nobody involved was reported to have suffered life-threatening injuries. Just after 11:00 on June 6th, 2023, Trooper Tyler Langley spotted a white Honda Accord cruising through Conway with its headlights completely off. Instead of stopping for the simple traffic violation, driver Keyon Batiste allegedly turned the situation into a full-speed run through city streets. Yeah. Got it. Thank you. Teaste was eventually taken into custody after the pursuit ended and investigators reportedly discovered the Honda was using fictitious license plates tied to a different vehicle. He was later charged with felony fleeing, reckless driving, no liability insurance, no lights at night, fictitious tags and driving without a valid driver's license. April 18th, 2023 became a busy night for officers in Newport after reports came in about a white Ford F-1 50 flying through town at more than 90 mph in a 35 mph zone. Multiple agencies scrambled to catch up while the pickup blasted toward United States Highway 67. 10-4. Watch for her. HEY! HEY! GET ON THE GROUND! GET ON THE GROUND! The pursuit ended surprisingly peacefully after the driver eventually pulled onto the shoulder and surrendered during a felony takedown. Investigators later conducted sobriety testing at the Jackson County Sheriff's Department while Newport police prepared felony affidavits connected to the incident. On July 31st, 2022, Arkansas State Police pulled over a driver whose behavior immediately raised concerns about possible intoxication behind the wheel. Troopers noted inconsistent answers, difficulty following instructions, and several classic signs of impairment as the roadside investigation unfolded. Hey man. I need you to pull closer to the wall. Take it down THE ROAD. THAT'S GOOD. THAT'S GOOD. THAT'S GOOD. STOP. HEY MAN, I'm Trooper McCord with Arkansas State Police. Do you know why I pulled you over today? I was speeding. Chemical testing later reportedly showed the driver had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.139, well above the legal driving limit in most states. The stop ultimately ended with the suspect in custody after officers completed field sobriety exercises and documented the investigation step-by-step. Thursday, April 27th, 2023, a simple speeding violation near Monticello suddenly became far more serious once troopers realized there were children inside the fleeing vehicle. Kevin Patterson allegedly pushed speeds well over 100 mph after officers attempted to stop him for driving 72 in a 60 mph zone. 30 on Robert Adam 353 on Robert Adam. Speed limit is 60. The pursuit finally stopped when Patterson pulled over and jumped out while accidentally leaving the vehicle rolling toward traffic with the children still inside. Patterson was arrested on charges including fleeing, reckless driving, speeding, driving on a suspended license, and three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor. April 29th, 2023 quickly turned emotional after a pursuit ended with a frustrated United States military veteran sitting in handcuffs and arguing with Arkansas State Police.
