By the end of the night, he was facing allegations tied to fleeing law enforcement, driving under the influence, and additional probation related violations. March 12th, 2026 began with a phone call that immediately put officers on high alert in Sparks, Nevada. A man told dispatchers he was sitting outside a business with a handgun and intended to shoot everyone inside. >> So why do you want to hurt anybody? >> I don't want to hurt anyone. >> You don't want to hurt anybody? Despite repeated attempts by negotiators and officers to peacefully resolve the situation, medical personnel eventually pronounced him gone at the scene. Investigators also confirmed he possessed a handgun during the incident. On September 28th, 2025 officers in Benton, Arkansas, responded to a reported shoplifting incident involving several suspects leaving a Walmart. Rather than stick around to answer questions, the group chose to speed away and attract the attention of multiple law enforcement agencies. Heat. Heat. What you got? Get your >> GET YOUR HANDS UP. Armando Lopez was later transported for medical evaluation before being booked into jail. Authorities accused him of multiple offenses including vehicle theft, fleeing law enforcement, and numerous traffic related violations stemming from the pursuit. On July 5th, 2023, officers working alongside Atlanta Police Department's FIT unit spotted a black Dodge Avenger that had reportedly escaped officers in an earlier incident. The driver quickly showed that he still had no plans to cooperate with police. That end down real quick. Get in here. >> Yep. 1050 hit attempt. That's it. mobile. I'm just a passenger. >> Please, sir. I don't have I got my phone. Can you get my phone, please, sir? That's all I got. Raphael Washington was arrested at the end of the pursuit while the passenger was released from the scene. Investigators also discovered the vehicle carried a suspended registration and lacked valid insurance. Charges related to fleeing and reckless driving were secured by Atlanta police. Monday, February 8th, 2021, a Georgia State Patrol corporal spotted a blue Yamaha R1 motorcycle traveling at an extraordinary speed through Fulton County. The rider immediately responded to the attempted traffic stop by accelerating away. Coming up on Washington Road. Passing up Washington Road. >> Washington Road. Southbound. The rider was identified as John Andrews, whose driver's license had been suspended. Investigators also recovered methamphetamine and learned the motorcycle had been reported stolen. He was booked on charges including fleeing and attempting to elude possession of methamphetamine and possession of stolen property. On January 5th, 2026, Los Angeles police attempted to stop a driver suspected of driving under the influence. Rather than pull over, the driver spent nearly an hour turning the San Fernando Valley into a rolling obstacle course. >> At 90 miles per hour over the median here, light traffic as we make our way through Kenoga Park. Coming around traffic here up at the red light, making a right turn. Wild turns throughout this pursuit. Fishtailing across all lanes. At one point just moments ago, there was a spike strip attempt that failed. He was able to navigate around that spike strip and is continuing at a high rate of speed here in Kenoga Park. LAPD with their airship right overhead that silver sedan heavily tinted wanted for a possible DUI driver behind the wheel here as that primary unit continues right on his tail in hot pursuit on a Monday night here in the San Fernando Valley. Coming up. Oh, close call there. Coming around there making a screwy Yui and now going the opposite direction. We'll go ahead and put up our locator there. Uh Josh confirming northbound dodto. Another major intersection coming up here. Lots of traffic at this one. Oh, into oncoming lanes of traffic threading the needle. There are cars in the oncoming lanes there at that intersection. Crossing back over the median. This guy is hauling at a high rate of speed here. You can see he's straddling that double yellow line there uh at speeds in excess of 80 to 90 miles per hour. A little more traffic here on Dotto, northbound Dotto through Kenoga Park. And these intersections are uh are are really getting scary because he is not even showing signs of breaking as he approaches some of these red lights here. Continuing uh up to Sodto coming up on Osborne now. LAPD still managing to keep >> uh it's an older model looks like a Lexus sedan. Um, and it's uh, you know, it's got some get up and go. Um, it's a mid2000 Lexus ES300 is what I'm being told by one of our our our directors here. Uh, >> almost lo control. Here he goes. Spinning out into the other side of the the Satakoy Street there. Coming out the other side, almost into that power pole and has now lost control. Now head-to-head with these LAPD units. Effectively, what would have happened in a pit maneuver is now what they are dealing with. with an armed suspect now face to face with these officers. Smoke coming out from under the hood here after he lost control, swerved across the double yellow lines and is now again, as I mentioned, head-to-head with those officers. You can see the windshield wipers have been activated. The driver now moving around inside the vehicle. Again, this is a driver who is under the influence, believed to be armed, very unpredictable, and has put so many lives in danger. They now have split-second decisions of their own to make as he now hopefully complies with their commands. We will see if he cooperates here. Mark, >> we're seeing two hands now up uh left and right hands both reaching out of the driver's side window. This is an encouraging sign. You can zoom in there. It >> appears right. He's showing signs of giving up here. As long as they can see his hands, they will have him probably just open up that door very slowly. They will give him very specific instructions. Uh but as long as they can see his hands, he will be okay. He will end up in jail, but he will be okay. If not, this could get ugly. This is a just a really nerve-wracking situation. >> Use a knife here or something to cut the uh to cut the seat belt. They're going to try they're going to get him out of the car. He may be hurt. That may be what he's been telling them. He may have been injured in the accident. Uh, and they're going to get him out. But you saw this is unusual. I I don't think I've seen this very often where they will actually come out uh on a suspect that they believe is armed with a shield and with a bunch of officers, basically an arrest team to go get him. Uh, and that's that's an unusual thing uh that we're that we're watching here. >> Yeah. Now, we are hearing that he is stuck to some degree, whether it was just a matter of getting the seat belt undone or or or or whatever the case may be. But we should explain why they are so hesitant to execute a pit maneuver in situations like this. Because ultimately, what a pit maneuver is designed to do is to spin the vehicle in a 180 degree fashion so that you end up facetoface with that suspect and able to take him into custody. If you know he is armed, you don't knowingly want to put yourself in that position. Those officers are then in a much more precarious position if they have a gunman, you know, fa, you know, facing them. >> Officers eventually took the suspect into custody without further incident after the crash. Investigators also reported finding a firearm inside the vehicle while pursuing allegations related to felony evasion, driving under the influence, and weapons offenses. January 4th, 2026 started with a speeding violation on Highway 70 in Arkansas. What should have been a simple stop quickly became something else when a black Honda Civic continued down the roadway despite emergency lights and sirens behind it. >> Video 20 approaching 128. Put your right hand on the head. I'm not I'm not trying to adjust nor trying to see. I'm sorry I gave you that impression, but I was just trying to head to the gas station cuz I wasn't going to have a circle with that light. I'm sorry to give you that impression. I was not trying to breathe. up. Up all the way in. The driver was identified as Josiah Samuel Gomez, who later claimed he was only trying to reach a gas station before stopping. That explanation failed to prevent an arrest, and he was ultimately charged with fleeing and speeding violations. On June 27th, 2022, a Georgia State Patrol trooper noticed a Kawasaki motorcycle with bright green neon lights traveling well above the speed limit. Instead of stopping, the rider launched officers into a winding chase through neighborhoods and onto the interstate. Uh, dead end, dead end. He may be about to bush bond ON ME. COPY. After his arrest, Wald admitted he fled because he did not have a motorcycle endorsement. He was jailed on charges that included fleeing and attempting to elude reckless driving and multiple traffic offenses. September 29th, 2025 found Florida troopers searching for a stolen vehicle that had already escaped deputies in Valuchia County. Go in the front. Go in the front. Okay. The 16-year-old was taken into custody shortly after the pursuit ended. Investigators moved forward with charges related to possessing a stolen vehicle fleeing law enforcement and reckless driving. On August 6th, 2024, law enforcement received reports of a reckless driver who was nearly causing crashes along Interstate 75. Even after marked patrol vehicles surrounded him, the driver refused repeated commands to stop. Is traffic heavy or moderate? >> No cars. >> You go ahead and use your patrol car. down to 1050 somewhere around 116. Get the out of the door. Get the out of your ass. Investigators later alleged fentanyl use and charged him with fleeing and eluding law enforcement and driving under the influence. November 11th, 2022 began with officers attempting to recover a stolen sport utility vehicle near the Broadway Bridge in North Little Rock. Officers located and arrested all three a short time later while preparing charges related to vehicle theft fleeing and other offenses. Late on October 31st, 2024, a Florida trooper parked along Interstate 95 suddenly found himself dealing with a driver who allegedly struck his patrol vehicle. The encounter became even more alarming when the driver reportedly displayed a handgun before leaving the scene. Gator 02. You see the lights are approaching North Lake right now. August 18th, 2023 started with a speeding violation on the flien bypass in Arkansas. Within moments, troopers found themselves dealing with a driver whose actions suggested the situation was becoming far more dangerous than an ordinary traffic stop. >> There's a good chance it's going to be 225 based on how he keeps driving. >> Let us know which way you go.
