On September 18th, 2023, a Florida Highway Patrol trooper spotted two muscle cars tearing up Interstate 95 at more than 100 mph. One driver pulled over immediately, but 25-year-old Marcus J. Toledo decided traffic laws were apparently just polite suggestions. Investigators said the Dodge Charger kept weaving through traffic across Flaggler and St. John's counties turning a routine speeding stop into a dangerous nighttime pursuit. He just left off with the rest area. >> Hold it to the rest area. Hold it to the rest area. >> I can't get into the rest area. I can't get into the rest area. You should have pulled over. >> I tried. >> By the time the chase finally came to a stop in St. John's County, Toledo was ordered out through the passenger side of the Charger before troopers took him into custody without further drama. He was booked into the St. John's County Jail facing charges including felony fleeing or eluding with disregard for safety, reckless driving, and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. October 3rd, 2024 started with Arkansas State Police attempting to stop a speeding Harley-Davidson rider, but Calvin DeMarcos Hinton treated the interstate like his own private racetrack instead. Troopers quickly realized the motorcycle rider was wobbling through turns at more than 110 mph while blasting through red lights and even driving the wrong way down roadways. Hinton was charged with felony fleeing by vehicle fleeing on foot, driving with a suspended license related to driving while intoxicated reckless driving and failing to stop at red lights. One evening in Grand Rapids, deputies were alerted that a black Saturn aura tied to a previous felonious assault investigation had suddenly returned to the Kent County Sheriff complex, which is usually not the kind of reunion law enforcement enjoys. Authorities said the driver, Britney Lee Johnson, allegedly drove toward an offduty deputy before fleeing through city streets while multiple agencies tried to keep track of the car. Michigan. The chase came to an end after officers stopped the Saturn before it could push deeper into downtown traffic and Johnson was taken into custody after reportedly resisting officers on the ground. She was transported to the Kent County Jail while investigators processed the vehicle and documented the alleged assault and fleeing incidents connected to the case. September 10th, 2022 turned chaotic in Little Rock when officers began chasing a suspect who refused to stop and darted through busy streets at dangerous speeds. Arkansas State Police Trooper Bird soon joined the pursuit, helping local officers contain the driver before the situation spread into crowded neighborhoods. >> West on 20th Street, sorry. Ow! Wow! Patrol vehicles were left damaged from the pursuit while investigators continued checking the route for any discarded evidence the suspect may have tossed during the escape attempt. On March 10th, 2025, Arkansas State Police were tipped off about a silver Chevrolet Malibu flying down Interstate 540 at more than 100 mph and troopers quickly realized the driver was not slowing down for anybody. Investigators later said Jennifer Hampton Higgins claimed she was rushing to see a patient who was close to passing away, but the aggressive lane splitting and reckless interstate driving had already turned the trip into a felony case. We're still northbound speed. We're coming up to the six right lane speed 120. They're going to stop or not. >> We're not slowing down. 1037 TV off. I'm trying to stop by Kelly. I'm on the phone with 911 right there. If you'd like to see, >> stand up. There's one. Oh, you know what? Oh, God. Jen, please don't die. >> After Hampton Higgins was taken into custody, troopers searched the Malibu and discovered suspected marijuana hydrocodone and more than $2,000 in cash inside the vehicle. She was booked on charges including felony fleeing, creating substantial danger, reckless driving, and possession of controlled substances with intent to deliver. On October 6th, 2023, a Florida Highway Patrol trooper clocked three street racing vehicles flying down US 27 near Chrome Avenue, but one black Infiniti G37 stood out for all the wrong reasons at 126 mph. Authorities said 21-year-old Javel Rodriguez Raphael responded to emergency lights by flipping a U-turn and vanishing into the night through construction zones and traffic. a moment like 1651. Troopers eventually tracked the Infinity back to a Miami address where Raphael reportedly drove straight into his own driveway, thinking the situation had cooled off. He was arrested without incident and later charged with felony fleeing and eluding racing on a highway and reckless driving. Thursday, July 30th, 2020. Milwaukee police attempted to stop a stolen vehicle reportedly tied to an armed robbery, but the teenage driver chose speed over surrender. Officers said the 17-year-old pushed the vehicle through city streets at dangerous speeds before losing control during the pursuit. >> That's it. >> 65 for the air 27 on Hopkins. He escaped. Two passengers, a 16-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl, were taken into custody and treated for minor injuries connected to the incident. On January 20th, 2026, Gwynet County officers responded to a reported robbery at an apartment complex in Duth, only to walk into a scene that sounded more like the finale of a crime drama than a routine call. Investigators said 28-year-old Chong Lee led officers into the apartment, while Dominique Gray suddenly appeared bleeding from the hand and refusing commands. Yeah, she police. Gray was charged with crimes including armed robbery, aggravated assault, and kidnapping, while Lee was charged with pimping, and keeping a place of prostitution. On December 26th, 2022, a Georgia State Patrol trooper attempted to stop a motorcycle with no illuminated tail light and a suspended registration, but the rider responded by crouching low and accelerating away into the darkness. Troopers later identified the rider as Steven Wilson, who pushed the motorcycle past 113 mph while weaving recklessly through traffic. 86 ring 38 stout 25 coming up Burton Road. Uh, I think I think I hold 911. >> The pursuit ended after Wilson lost control and crashed into another vehicle while attempting to merge back onto the roadway at high speed. Investigators later discovered Wilson was a wanted escaped federal prisoner with multiple felony warrants and a revoked driver's license. July 19th, 2022 featured officers coordinating a fast-moving agency assist pursuit involving a heavily damaged Buick that looked like it was barely surviving the chase itself. Local units deliberately backed off primary duties and allowed Arkansas State Police troopers to take control, relying on their pursuit training to safely manage the increasingly unstable driver. almost down. One, two, three. >> As the Buick continued deteriorating throughout the pursuit, troopers gradually boxed the suspect into fewer escape options before finally ending the chase. The coordinated response highlighted how multiple agencies worked together to safely shut down the pursuit and regain control of the roadway. On November 12th, 2023, Arkansas State Police trooper a Escamilla stopped a Chrysler Pacifica on Interstate 40 after the vehicle drifted across lane markings. But the strong odor coming from inside immediately changed the tone of the traffic stop. Driver James Rebels claimed he was heading from Oklahoma to Florida for a short family visit. Though investigators quickly noticed the rental agreement and travel story were not exactly traveling in the same direction. >> You have any weapons? >> Nope. No weapons. >> All right. Rebels was arrested on charges including possession of a schedule 6 substance with intent to deliver possession of drug paraphernalia and using another person's property to facilitate a crime. September 1st, 2024 began with Clayton County deputies spotting a driver making traffic violations in Jonesboro, but the stop escalated once deputies realized the registered owner had a suspended license connected to driving under the influence. Authorities said Amber Reading ignored lights and sirens before racing through downtown intersections and neighborhood streets at dangerous speeds. Reading was eventually taken into custody after trying to run from the stopped vehicle and stumbling downhill during the escape attempt. Deputies later reported signs of alcohol impairment, and she was charged with offenses including fleeing from police driving under the influence second offense, reckless driving and driving while license suspended. At 12:38 in the afternoon on March 3rd, 2022 deputies in San Diego requested urgent backup after a woman armed with a knife refused to cooperate inside a West Beach Street residence. Investigators said 47year-old Yan Lee had also allegedly threatened a maintenance worker the previous day, raising concerns before officers even opened the apartment door. >> Are you Yani? >> Uh, yes. >> Okay. The confrontation escalated when a San Diego police K-9 handler was stabbed in the chest after officers entered the residence leading to an officer involved shooting. Lee passed away at the scene while the injured officer was treated at UCSD Medical Center and later released from the hospital. Friday, April 19th, 2025, Los Angeles County deputies and California Highway Patrol officers found themselves chasing an Infinity driver who treated freeways and residential streets like interchangeable concepts. Authorities said the suspect was initially wanted for failure to yield, but the pursuit quickly exploded into a 100 mph run across Pomona South Gate and East Los Angeles. this traffic. And again, when he encounters any obstacles whatsoever, he has no problem weaving right around narrowly, missing vehicles and other obstacles in his way here. And those CHP units doing a tremendous job, actually able to keep up with him. I mean, he's been doing speeds well in excess of 110 mph. Now, southbound 710, seeing a little bit more traffic here, but he's using the shoulder when he needs to. Uh, and every other piece of pavement that he could get his wheels on, he's using it. He is basically running for it until the end here. Taking the 710 all the way south here as we make our way past Atlantic Boulevard uh through the Southgate area. He really is showing no signs of slowing down at all. Mark had to get much diceier and perhaps let's hope not, but perhaps even scarier because the driving we're seeing here just is is is worrisome to say the least. Okay, on to Firestone we go. CHP navigating the turn with him now coming westbound on Firestone. Indeed, an Infinity uh Infinity sedan. You can see those units uh making the turn with him here. He's got a lot more traffic to contend with. He's got that right lane at his disposal here. We'll see if he starts slowing down for some of these red lights, but uh right now he's still doing way above the speed limit here. He's going with the flow of traffic. We'll see what he resorts to here because those units are indeed closing in. CHP continuing to apply pressure here. That airship continuing to shine a light on that suspect and that's doing a real public service because at least the people that are down there know that there is police activity in their vicinity. And now he's making a southbound turn onto Atlantic Atlantic Avenue off of Firestone trying to keep up with him. And you still see that night sun overhead here doing about 70 mph down Salt Lake Avenue now as he makes his way westbound on Salt Lake. Again, a very commercial area. He's got a big rig making the turn in front of him here. He's going to make a sharp UI here. And oh, he's going to go around going around the tractor trailer. ZHP navigating that trailer with him and uh continuing westbound on Salt Lake Avenue there. So, he had an opportunity to make a hairpin turn there into a residential area, but no, he is continuing down Santa Salt Lake rather. And uh he's going to head back towards the 710, I believe. Uh unless we've already have we already made our way past there. But anyways, he's does he does have another freeway coming up here, but right now he does seem to be committed to Salt Lake. real signs of hiding out. If he sees uh any opportunity here to dump the vehicle, you just might see that happen here. But he is showing a lot of immediate right turns here. Very random. Unclear whether he's familiar with this neighborhood. But again, we should reiterate this all started, Mark, all the way out in Pomona and made his way here into South LA. So, uh he's toying with these cops and uh they are not letting up whatsoever. And you have to wonder what other charges may be stacking up here aside from all the traffic violations. What crimes have been committed to warrant this kind of a chase? This is a wild and dangerous pursuit. uh just about the uh sixth or seventh that we've seen this week. But uh now coming to a stop, coming to a stop suddenly in the middle of Florence Avenue at Stafford Avenue behind the building, CHP now cornering the suspect behind this building right here as we try and come around here. Uh it looks like they are out of their vehicles and he's inching forward. Suspect inching forward and the pursuit is going to be back on here. Somebody may have gotten out. Oh, no. That's a different vehicle. That was >> The pursuit finally ended in Huntington Park after officers boxed the Infinity into a dead-end position and pulled the driver from the vehicle without injuries to bystanders. Investigators said the suspect now faces a growing list of violations tied to reckless evasion, red light violations, and dangerous driving through residential streets. On September 18th, 2023 deputies in Elatchua County received word that a stolen BMW connected to a homicide investigation was heading north on US Highway 441, giving officers every reason to pay close attention when the sedan appeared on the roadway. Investigators said driver Javon Stefan Barkley ignored emergency lights, dodged stopstick attempts, and repeatedly sped away from deputies trying to shut the pursuit down. >> Stop. I'm going be in the right lane. Try to push in for the left lane. Uh some of you guys already on the bra right in front of you. >> What lane? What lane? >> Go ahead. Put in the fast lane. In finally fast turning him now Ever brave 114 with six to exit and we're coming up on the south on the prairie. Hit stop, guys. Remember what you're doing. Tony stop. Block traffic back in the back, please. Nice. I'm coming. [ __ ] for how far north side of the prairie I'll start traffic [crying] stop. I don't walk backward. The chase ended after deputies successfully stopped the BMW and took Barkley into custody before transporting him to a hospital for medical evaluation. Authorities later confirmed Barkley also had an active warrant for assault with a deadly weapon and was charged with fleeing and eluding law enforcement along with driving while license suspended as a habitual offender. On August 28th, 2024 deputies in Highlands County attempted to stop a gray Toyota Corolla towing a trailer without a visible tag, but driver David Kinsley Jr. decided to answer the traffic stop with a full-blown escape attempt. Authorities said the Toyota later accelerated directly toward a deputy's patrol vehicle before disappearing into an orange grove like a budget action movie with very poor planning. Investigators later recovered suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia from the Toyota and Kinsley was booked on charges including aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer fleeing and eluding and possession of methamphetamine. On July 8th, 2025, Florida Highway Patrol troopers spotted a silver Chevy Silverado weaving through traffic on Interstate 75 at nearly 100 mph, and the driver immediately made it clear he had no intention of stopping peacefully. Investigators said Kevin Donald Rearen II repeatedly slammed on his brakes and intentionally rammed patrol vehicles during the pursuit, turning the interstate chase into a rolling demolition derby. Authorities reported finding liquor bottles, marijuana, cigarettes, drug paraphernalia, and prescription medication. While Rearen faced charges including fleeing and eluding reckless driving and aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer. The suspect may have been taken into custody, but investigators were left sorting through a trail of reckless choices that stretched far beyond the final stop. Be sure to watch the next video because the next pursuit takes an even more unpredictable turn. Thanks for watching and do not forget to subscribe for more weekly chase footage and police encounters.
