June 24th, 2023 offered legendary trooper Jacob Bird a midnight snack in the form of a speeding Chevy Caprice. This driver decided a 107 mph cruise with no lights on was the perfect vibe for a Saturday night. Bird caught up to the maroon sedan and attempted a standard stop. However, the driver decided to floor it and turn the lights back off. >> Driver, turn the car off now. 37 237 on service throw heading towards brakes. Crash out at 65th and 30. I've got a box truck telling me that he took off on foot. West on 65th. West on 65th. The car is clear. Car's clear. on the interstate. >> Interstate and left and off to the bridge. >> He say he got on the interstate. He ran to get back on the westbound toward the interstate. I've got him on the service road. The black male, white shirt going towards Coca-Cola. Get on the ground [screaming] now. Get on the ground. I'm not playing with you. Get on the ground. Put your hands behind your back now. Oh my god. Oh my god. It's fun. Oh my god. >> What's your name, dude? >> Do what? >> What's your name? >> What's your name? >> Christopher. >> All right. >> Nice week. >> Yeah. Well, now you're going to have another port date. >> The suspect eventually swapped his high-speed sedan for a slow sprint through the weeds before being apprehended. He was medically cleared and booked into the Palaski County Jail on felony fleeing and criminal mischief charges. His future as a professional getaway driver looks bleak considering he crashed into a culvert while trying to disappear in the dark. The morning commute on June 3rd, 2024 became a highstakes adventure for a 26-year-old Orlando man in a Chrysler 200. He caught the eye of the Florida Highway Patrol near mile marker 121 in Valuchia County. Rather than pulling over for a friendly chat, the driver opted for a reckless tour across multiple county lines. speed. >> 20 mph 32. Hello. Hello. Radio. I'm happy. After crossing into Orange County, the man's reckless journey came to a bonejarring halt at mile marker 86. He was whisked away to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for injuries sustained during his brief career as a fugitive. One can only imagine the awkward holiday dinner conversation where he explains why the family car is now a crumpled heap of metal. On June 25th, 2024, Morgane and Otayak decided to take a stolen black Honda Civic for a late night spin down Interstate 95. Trooper Thomas spotted the disabled vehicle on the shoulder. But as soon as the blue lights flickered to life, Otayak suddenly found the energy to start a high-speed flight. 31 temporary 10315. Hey, the vehicle. >> Stop the car. Stop the car. >> Stop the car. Stop. Get out of the vehicle. here. North pass. 143 passing behind it. Continue outside 80 mph Okay. 86 people 197 hands up hands up hands up hands up your hands your hands up your hands back up. See here one out here exiting north of 1483 This grand escape attempt involved three separate passengers and an impressive five attempts to stop the vehicle. Otayak and her accomplice Jose Luis Rodriguez eventually found themselves in the Palm Beach County Jail after their final failure to keep the car moving. It turns out that having your passenger manually shift the car into reverse midchase is not the tactical master stroke they believed it to be. The night of November 29th, 2023 turned into an awkward family reunion for law enforcement when trooper Walner Roy spotted a speeding Kia Stinger weaving through traffic. Believing he had found a fleeing suspect, Roy prepared to end the reckless driving on State Road 826 with some aggressive roadside intervention. I have to tell you 86 approaching 27 time right now. on the perimeter roll out. >> All right. 6th Avenue right now. Heading north 170. Oh, I didn't see the lights. I didn't see the lights in the back. You >> kidding me? >> Oh, I got the wrong car. I didn't see the lights in the back. >> I got the wrong lights in the back. >> Sorry. Wrong vehicle. Wrong vehicle. Wrong vehicle. The driver turned out to be Opaaka Police Captain Cory Cotenberg, who was reportedly speeding without emergency lights as part of a multi- agency task force. While the Florida Highway Patrol cleared Trooper Roy of any discipline, the Police Department declined to comment on the captain's own questionable driving habits. Who do you think was in the wrong here, the overzealous trooper or the speeding captain? Leave a comment to share your thoughts. December 25th, 2024 was a very busy day for trooper Chase Landry after he spotted Malcolm Curry's Chrysler 300 nearly causing a wreck on Interstate 40. Curry decided that 150 mph was a reasonable speed to maintain while transporting a veritable pharmacy of elicit substances through Arkansas. 56 1037. >> We're getting back on 67 South about 70. We're going to take the point. Westbound on Carnival. Westbound. We're going to go north on Bowman. >> Correction. Staying westbound curve wind. I'm secondary. I'll call it David O. Now westbound speed to 90. turning. Going to go north. >> He wrecked out. Going to go north. The pursuit ended with a crash into a Subaru dealership gate, which likely added a hefty price tag to Curry's already extensive list of legal problems. He was apprehended after a short foot chase and faces a mountain of felony charges, including possession with purpose to deliver ecstasy and mushrooms. This high-speed delivery service was clearly not worth the cost of a luxury sedan and a lifetime of legal fees. Rohan Dailyaly proved that age is just a number when he led Clayton County deputies on a 116 mph chase on December 16th, 2023. What started as a simple stop for an expired tag quickly turned into a high-speed tour of the Georgia tree line. >> 0476 or a burgundy Honda. Blackhawk one. >> Lieutenant Carrie, you have a call. >> Clear. That vehicle's taking off on me to Cataline Road. East westbound speeds are 82. Um, pay county clear passing point B. Speeds are 106. No traffic. All right. Vehicle 41. 41 right here. >> 41. 41. Hey, get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get the on the ground. You move. I'mma shoot your ass. >> The 2016 Honda Accord finally surrendered when it was forced into a group of trees after a desperate attempt to negotiate a curve. Daly was booked into the Clayton County jail for felony fleeing and driving on a suspended license, leaving his poor vehicle to be hauled away by a wrecker. The car deserved a better fate than being driven to its destruction on bald tires by a man with a very long road of legal troubles ahead. On April 6th, 2021, Jansen Cardell Jones decided to spice up the late night hours by leading multiple agencies on a chase exceeding 100 mph. While flying down State Route 400, Jones began treating the highway like a trash can by throwing various items out of his window. Let's go. Let's go. I feel hey man, you done now, boy. Do you know you troopers taking the lead? This be over with just a second. We've crossed 285. We're by the old tower. Looks like they're about to pit him. >> Well, they hit him. 41. [screaming] He's flipped and rolled and hit the wall. >> Holy back. Right behind number one 77. I'm taking primary side. Here we go. Extreme 1049. Let me see your hands. >> Let me see your eyes. Let me see your eyes. >> Get out. Get on the ground now. Get on the ground now. Get out. Get on the ground. Get on the ground now. Get on the ground now. >> Truck's clear. >> Put your hand behind your back. Hand behind your back. I got you. >> Why you running? >> So what? >> Now you're going to jail. >> You could have just killed me, dude. >> Frank, you could have killed yourself. >> Yeah, you could have yourself. Not us, man. It's >> illegal. >> You think so? >> You think so? Why didn't you stop whenever I was talking? >> I got a warning. >> Hey, you see this patch on my arm right here? What's that say? It says the noting around crew. That's what that said. >> Once the state boys brought the truck to a halt near Glenidge Drive, they discovered Jones was driving on a suspended license and had active warrants for his arrest. He was promptly escorted back to the Foresight County Jail to face a long list of charges, including driving under the influence of drugs. The morale of the story is that you cannot outrun your past, especially when you are throwing the evidence out of the window for the police to find. May 11th, 2025 took a turn for the cinematic when Stacy Rebecca Lee and Prior Miranda Lee allegedly carjacked a black Mitsubishi eclipse at gunpoint. Florida troopers spotted the vehicle on Interstate 93, but the duo decided to push the crossover to 130 mph instead of surrendering. That was good. 4 748 vehicle southbound did not exit. >> Yeah. Go ahead. The high-speed drama concluded at mile marker 79 when the driver swerved to miss stopst sticks and tangled with a cable barrier. Both women were apprehended and airlifted to a hospital for medical clearance before facing serious felony charges. Their attempt to discard a loaded revolver out the window was about as successful as their attempt to outdrive the Florida Highway Patrol. On April 24th, 2024, a registered sex offender in Portland turned a routine search warrant into a chaotic high-speed chase by stealing an unmarked Homeland Security SUV. After federal agents confronted him with incriminating evidence, the suspect locked the doors and took the government vehicle on a 120 mph joy ride. Heat. Heat. Shut down. Exit 48. The chase ended in a dramatic rollover crash that left the federal vehicle resting on its roof after a successful intervention by local police. Despite the SUV's new upside down orientation, the suspect managed to crawl out of the wreckage only to find a swarm of officers waiting for him. He is now facing a new set of federal charges to accompany his existing legal wos. April 25th, 2024 became a long day for law enforcement after David Arrington's white Ford pickup was spotted swerving all over Nelson Road when the trooper detected a heavy scent of alcohol and slurred speech. Harrington decided the best course of action was to drag the officer along and flee the scene. He >> Reyes, come up here for me. >> You know, I got the camera on. Just let me say about none of that, man. Hey, look. I got to go to work, babe. I'm trying to Hey, look. Sir, step out for me. >> I want to see you, man. >> No, don't. No, don't don't don't do it. Don't do it. Don't do it. Don't do it. Don't do it. heat. Heat. close. We're still headed towards 212. Still headed towards 212. He He This has got to I can't let him back on the roadway. Thank you very much. That's what our headed southbound on 212 passing low road. He is heavily intoxicated. He needs to be stopped. >> [screaming] >> on the ground. Move on the ground. Keep your hands up. Keep your hands. After going airborne over a culvert and ramming a patrol car, Arrington's truck finally flipped onto its side to end the madness. He celebrated his capture by refusing medical treatment and attempting to kick out the windows of a deputy's patrol car. Congratulations to David for turning a simple traffic stop into a collection of felony warrants and a very uncomfortable stay in the local jail. On April 20th of 2021, Jaden Miky Hamilton decided that traffic laws were more like suggestions while driving his silver Nissan Morano on Georgia Highway 92. After a trooper approached his window, Hamilton floored it and reached speeds of 110 mph in a desperate attempt to keep his grocery run from ending in a jail cell. How you doing? Do me a favor and let's go right now off the entrance here. Yes. Push down. All the other highway 10 miles down this Now highway road be in so much trouble >> now heard All you got to do just is stop over there. >> Come on. Keep moving. Keep moving. >> Like you didn't have to run away from me, bro. I didn't know what else to do. >> Oh my god. You just stay there. Come here. >> Look at her. That's her only car. She just got her carpet, bro. Come on, bro. Hamilton was eventually detained and transported to the Pauling County Jail after his reckless driving came to a sudden halt on the shoulder of the road. He later explained that he fled because he lacked a driver's license, though he did find time to claim he was a sovereign citizen during the arrest. At least the trooper was kind enough to let his mother pick up the groceries before he was whisked away. The early hours of April 17th, 2022 were already tragic as investigators worked a fatal hit-and-run scene in Dade City. The situation turned from somber to horrifying when Andrew Krumman drove his silver Chevy pickup directly at the officers, ignoring commands and driving over the victim's remains before fleeing the scene. All right. 16 marijuana jig. 32 46 I'm working on your location. 46 Let's hit him. Krumman was eventually cornered and hit with a massive list of charges, including aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and driving under the influence. His reckless disregard for human life and the active crime scene has earned him a very long stay behind bars. It seems his career as a getaway driver ended about as poorly as his ability to follow basic human decency. Sunday, May 2022 saw a terrifying display of speed when a suspect vehicle pushed past 95 mph during an Arkansas State Police pursuit. The chase reached a violent conclusion at an intersection where the suspect lost control and slammed nearly headon into an innocent SUV. Very nice. Arkansas 6590 George 659 George Toyota road near Eagle Street. 237. >> Oh, wow. All right, He just crashed down into a vehicle. California crash. California crash. angle. >> Hey man, you all right? You good? Hey, man. >> Both drivers were trapped in their mangled vehicles, requiring a frantic rescue effort as the suspect's car began to catch fire. The suspect was eventually pulled from the wreckage with a compound leg fracture and transported to a hospital under heavy guard. He will eventually have to explain to his family why his decision to run led to a catastrophic collision and a life-changing set of injuries for everyone involved. On September 20th, 2023, Dmitri Barton treated the Arkansas interstate like a professional racetrack in his white Dodge Challenger. Trooper Lucas clocked the vehicle at a staggering 150 mph, but Barton decided to push the limits even further by reaching 160 mph while weaving through late night traffic. Heat. Heat. realbound. Let me see your hands right now. You let me see your hands. Crawl towards me. Crawl towards me right now. >> Hopefully tonight. >> We'll do. Thanks, ma'am. >> The high-speed flight ended when Barton sideswiped another vehicle and was spun into a cable barrier by a tactical intervention. He was found lying in the middle of the road in a total surrender after realizing that even a challenger cannot outrun a radio signal and a persistent trooper. This was a very expensive way for Barton to learn that the highway is not his personal drag strip. A Sunday afternoon drive in Forest City turned into a high-speed disaster when 19-year-old John Bomar fled from a traffic stop at over 100 mph. Arkansas State Troopers pursued the young man onto Highway 1, noting that his reckless driving was putting every other motorist on the road in significant danger. 7. Okay, we're coming. We're coming through P now. Y'all can get some spikes out. Go ahead. 13. Okay. 13's primary. I'm secondary. 31's the third unit. Good evening in 2013 coming started. Start at 1016. Start [screaming] driver. a big bus running down. He rolled over. [laughter] >> Clear the Hang on. We're going to clear this car first. >> Are you going to be out there with I'm listening to frequency. I got 218 in the vehicle with me. that way. >> Can you see his hands? >> Okay. >> Hey, buddy. Good. >> The chase ended in a farm field where Bomar ultimately didn't make it despite the life-saving efforts of the troopers on the scene. An investigation was launched to determine if the use of force was consistent with state laws following this tragic outcome. This remains a somber reminder of how quickly a simple traffic violation can spiral into a permanent loss. November 11th, 2020 provided legendary trooper Jacob Bird with yet another opportunity to showcase his pursuit skills during a late night chase with a dangerous pickup truck. The suspects decided that reckless maneuvers were the best way to evade the law, but they clearly didn't realize who was behind the wheel of the patrol car following them. Good morning. Thank you. Copy, Universal. This is 91 in the back. We're 018. Watch your crossbar. Watch crossbar [crying and screaming] hands up. The pickup was swiftly neutralized, leading to the immediate arrest of both occupants as they realized their night of fun had reached its final destination. They likely faced a laundry list of charges, including felony fleeing, reckless driving, and perhaps possession of illegal items found during the search. Their prospects of returning to the open road anytime soon have been effectively cancelled by Trooper Bird's intervention. On August 4th, 2024, Mel Scrugs allegedly decided to turn a stolen car from Cleveland Hopkins airport into a two-state cross-country tour. This high-speed flight across Ohio and Pennsylvania saw Scrugs striking multiple police cruisers as he desperately tried to avoid the inevitable. That's it. >> 176. Do you have any injuries? >> Negative. Okay. Is your car still driving? Right. W 680 South. 13 light traffic still leaving for aviation possible. This is 114 still southbound passing exit 14. >> Oh my gosh. 31 southbound and 224 southbound mile. >> Yeah, I'm okay. Is he all right? >> Speed 110. This pursuit reached a tragic end when a collision occurred at a busy intersection involving a trooper cruiser and an innocent driver who just happened to be in the wrong place. Scrugs now faces a mountain of felony charges in two different states, including felonious assault and recklessly endangering another person. The community is left to pick up the pieces after a senseless theft turned into a violent multi-state catastrophe. The sirens have faded for now. Yet, you should know that this is merely the opening act for an even more ridiculous display of driving. Go ahead and check out the next video immediately to witness the next suspect's attempt at a world record fail. It only gets more chaotic from here on out as we continue our deep dive into the archives. We appreciate the support and ask that you subscribe to keep these high stakes showdowns
