He was later released on his own recgnizance, leaving the original parking lot problem with a considerably longer list of complications than anyone had planned for. August 31st, 2025 in Los Angeles, deputies were called to a 7-Eleven after a man reportedly stole a Chrysler sedan with three children inside. The theft immediately became an emergency involving multiple innocent passengers and a vehicle that was now being sought by law enforcement. Follow this pursuit up PCH California Highway Patrol on the tail of this Chrysler, a silver Chrysler with several people on board, including a couple of kids as far as we could tell. You can see the sheriff's helicopter keeping a close eye overhead as well as they have tracked this suspect from East LA in the Baldwin Park area through the city all the way across town into West LA uh through Santa Monica and eventually onto the northbound side of PCH as he refuses to pull over. They are treating this with kid glove care as they uh are aware of those two children inside of the vehicle. And again, kidnapping is believed to be one of the charges, the alleged charges here in this uh if nothing else, it'll eventually run out of gas. They could take this all the way up PCH if they need to. Uh unfortunately, darkness is going to start falling here in the next 20 minutes. But uh they have the resources in place. It is in a uh it's on a safe highway here. You know, this is much better than uh chasing this guy through surfer streets or a congested freeway. You're on PCH for with very limited opportunity for him to turn off here and get lost. So, I I don't see them having a real problem uh maintaining a visual here, especially at these speeds. This should be a very simple uh wait and see game for them. They have time on their side. Uh right now the airship that was assisting has pulled off for fuel. Uh I imagine there is at least uh another airship probably on the way or perhaps that airship uh will be heading back here with a full tank here as it gets dark. But California Highway Patrol with at least a half a dozen units making their way uh up PCH through Malibu here. And I imagine there will be additional CHP resources uh preparing to take over this pursuit as he gets up into the Ventura County area. That's going to be next here as we make our way uh up Malibu Canyon Road as they continue northbound PCH. California Highway Patrol behind the suspect. It does sound like they may be getting some help from the LA County Sheriff's Department here uh by way of a spike strip set up a little further north here. We're going to try and keep an eye out for that as he continues up the coastline here. There are vehicles there are uh or there's at least one vehicle. Oh, he just hit it. He just hit it. He just hit it. Let's see if that was successful. That was a that was I believe a sheriff's that was a sheriff's SUV there that laid down that spike strip. So, uh, just as we were talking about, California Highway Patrol chasing the suspect. LA County Sheriff now, uh, laying down a nice spike and he is picking up speed after running over that spike strip. It's unclear whether the tire struck the spike strip, but we will see if this vehicle behaves any differently aside from the fact that he is now doubling his speed here as he makes his way northbound PCH and now breaking. For some reason, well, you can imagine the reason now. He is much more agitated and the vehicle appears to be behaving nominally thus far, but they did lay down a spike. He appeared to drive right over it. And uh we'll see if those tires start to wobble at all as they lose air. Hopefully, if he struck either side uh with that uh if he struck if he struck the spike strip with either side of the vehicle, hopefully we'll see uh some of those uh some of that rubber start to uh deflate there. So, he's continuing northbound past Paradise Cove at a high rate of speed now. And they are How far back are they now? They were really close on his tail. They are still pretty close, but he is picking up steam here. And unfortunately, uh, well, it's unfortunate because he was traveling much slower. Again, we just want to see this end as safely as possible. Hopefully, they could bring this to a peaceful OH [screaming] NO. OH NO. RIGHT INTO CROSS TRAFFIC. AND the driver loses control right into the hillside there at a major intersection. That's going to be Kanan Doom Road. And the driver is now jumping out of the vehicle. There's two kids inside that vehicle at we Okay, he's running. He's on the run. They're going to chase him up this embankment here. There are children inside that vehicle. We'll go back in just a second. Right now, we're going to stick with the driver. California Highway Patrol chasing the suspect up the embankment as he runs for his life here up the hillside on the west side into an apartment complex right along PCH at Kanan Doom Road. A major crash there with cross traffic right along PCH at Kanan Doom. The driver still running barefoot, taking off a sweater and continuing to run through this apartment complex towards the beach or Oh, this is terrible. This is just terrible. He's continuing this foot pursuit here uh at Point Doom through a field in Point Doom. Anybody behind him yet? He's running through the trees. At some point, I want to get an address here at the end of this this uh this uh this neighborhood. We'll try and get the street. He's running through the vegetation behind some private property, some steep terrain here in Point Doom, and he is navigating it pretty well considering he's barefoot here. He is slowing down a little bit. There is private property, not far from his position here. But he's in an open field uh off of Port Shed Road right off of Kanan Doom, right off of PCH. You saw him jump out of the vehicle after a violent crash. At some point, we will get a condition on those kids and we will uh get a shot of that vehicle, but right now we are one of the only people with a view of this suspect. Law enforcement is at a real disadvantage here. They're trying to get into position. The airship had to pull off for fuel. Those ground officers, those officers on the ground, I should say, uh did not make their way up that embankment as successfully as he did. And now he is trying to climb through barbed wire to try and hide out. He's run through a field off of Portshed Road now walking through private property here in Point Doom trying to hide in the vegetation. There's a lot of at the end of Selfridge Drive. Again, those are the two streets that we're working with. Selfridge Drive and Porshed Road. Uh he is now on private property. He's crossed through that fence is now in somebody's backyard. And still as we maintain sight well we're going to lose the suspect. Uh show the kids real quick and then we'll go back to the suspect. The kids are being removed from the vehicle. Uh you can see this violent crash scene at the end of Kanan Doom Road at PCH. A violent crash. The vehicle losing control after crashing into after crashing. Oh no. Somebody is holding that that child on the side of the road. Uh at least one child now. And that I believe there were two. There was a report of children. Uh at the outset of this pursuit. To the best of our information. There were at least two kids, but we have a visual now of one child being tended to. No ambulance on site yet on scene. Uh it looks like perhaps an innocent bystander attending to that child who is moving around on the shoulder here. This is going to be the southbound side of PCH. Uh the entire highway has now been shut down and you can see there is somebody else it looks like inside. Oh, there's a sheet. Oh god. Copy that. Copy that. So some new information just coming in now from the sheriff's department. Uh this is from the sheriff's department. We do not know if it's the suspect, but one person is being detained at this moment. One person is being detained in Point Doom uh in the vicinity of where we last saw that suspect. We do not know for sure whether it is the suspect who stole this vehicle and went running uh up that embankment, but at least one person is now being detained. So, that is the information coming from the LA County Sheriff's Department. one person in custody and they will hopefully get a description uh in short order here to make sure it is perhaps perhaps with any luck the right suspect in custo >> the suspect was eventually arrested by California highway patrol officers after the crash and was taken for medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries the three children also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken for treatment while a woman in another vehicle involved in the crash was injured as well. The available information does not provide the suspect's name or final charges. November 10th, 2024, just before 3 in the morning, Florida Highway Patrol joined Pasco County deputies in trying to stop a gold Cadillac CTS on United States Highway 19. The driver, later identified as 69year-old Thomas Patrick Kennedy, continued driving despite repeated attempts by law enforcement to get him to stop. You had left 843 from that. Kennedy was arrested and charged with felony fleeing or eluding a police officer. Afterward, he told officers that he had mistaken the pursuing vehicles for an ambulance. He was later taken for medical clearance before being booked into the Pasco County detention facility. on September 18th, 2026 began with Arkansas State Police clocking a brown pickup traveling at 90 miles per hour in a posted 75 mph zone. The driver later identified as Malake Bon initially appeared to slow down, but his subsequent actions gave the trooper reason to believe he was no longer planning to cooperate with the traffic stop. 89 southbound. That was dumb. >> Bon was taken into custody and faced charges including fleeing by vehicle or conveyance driving on a suspended license, driving without liability insurance, speeding failure to register the vehicle failure to obey a stop sign, and careless or prohibited driving. What could have remained a handful of traffic citations instead became a felony level arrest and a trip to jail. April 28th, 2024, Arkansas State Police attempted to stop a motorcycle after observing the rider traveling at a high rate of speed. The rider failed to comply, turning a traffic stop into a pursuit that eventually left the motorcycle operator on foot. 305 light traffic well. 098 current I believe 098 call on that 28 coming behind the blue John. Based on the available information, possible charges could include felony fleeing, or attempting to elude, reckless driving, speeding, and resisting or obstructing an officer. The exact charges were not provided in the report. May 3rd, 2023, a Columbia County, Wisconsin deputy became suspicious of a vehicle connected to unusual activity at several local gas stations. The vehicle's occupants apparently noticed law enforcement as well, and the driver soon accelerated away instead of sticking around to answer questions. address 98 339 W 98 again 98 continuing through the field 1028 more 33 because he has no reason for they drove through some of the yard and through another ditch going back out to the dead end. I observed the vehicle at the truck stopped and then I ended my last traffic stop and pulled into as soon as I behind them and then they left and I followed them road. The driver, 29-year-old Cody Foresight Murdoch of Reedsburg, was charged with fleeing an officer recklessly endangering safety operating a vehicle without the owner's consent. Two counts of bail, jumping a probation violation, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Passenger, 34year-old Paula McGawan, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and being a party to a crime involving operation of a vehicle without the owner's consent. She was released on a $1,000 signature bond, while Murdoch was released on a $250 cash bond. May 29th, 2025, in Thomasville, Georgia, a trooper noticed a red vehicle whose driver appeared not to be wearing a seat belt and initiated a traffic stop. The driver initially pulled over, but the situation changed when he suddenly fled, with James Edward Roberts, later identified as the driver. Yankee 480 South on Jefferson. South on Jefferson. Investigators found suspected cocaine, cannabis products, and wax inside the vehicle, and the case was turned over to the appropriate investigators for further examination.
