On February 6th, 2024, a routine patrol through Sebring, Florida, suddenly turned suspicious when a driver reacted to a deputy's U-turn by flooring the accelerator instead of slowing down. Within moments, Jacquwan Salvales Hall was treating public highways like a private racetrack, leaving deputies with little doubt he had no intention of stopping voluntarily. Oh my god. We're still continuing westbound. Speeds 40 miles an hour. He's barely able to control it. Vehicle's almost the AV traffic. Bravo, do not hit that car. 33 traffic, we got to stop. >> 33 traffic, we got to stop. >> Hands up. [screaming] Hands up, mother. On April 24th, 2026, Arkansas troopers picked up a pursuit that had already started after a pickup truck refused to stop for local police. The driver, later identified as Chase M. Investigators also obtained a blood sample through a search warrant as the case expanded to include felony fleeing, driving while impaired by drugs, secondderee battery, reckless driving possession of a controlled substance, and more after several people required medical evaluation. June 9th, 2026 began with Los Angeles police officers investigating a suspicious pickup truck displaying temporary paper plates. But the encounter changed instantly when they spotted the driver holding a handgun. The driver, 35-year-old Marco Flores, chose to speed away instead of complying with officers attempting to detain him. We're going to be heading eastbound She go TC. >> Get your back. Get your back. Prosecutors charged him with four counts of attempted murder, multiple counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm upon peace officer's reckless fleeing from law enforcement possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and more. while the injured officer was later released after treatment. On January 22nd, 2024, what first looked like a traffic stop over an illegally tinted windshield quickly became far more serious outside a Dunkin Donuts in Wildwood, Florida. Rather than pull over, the driver accelerated through the parking lot before launching onto State Road 44 [music] at extraordinary speed. It's ready to go. Yeah. 87. A search uncovered hundreds of grams of suspected methamphetamine, a converted fully automatic handgun, additional suspected narcotics and trafficking materials, leading to charges that included trafficking in methamphetamine, aggravated fleeing to elude possession of an illegally modified firearm driving with a revoked license, and more. Sunday, April 26th, 2026. An Arkansas trooper watched a sport utility vehicle drive the wrong way through traffic before the driver ignored an attempted traffic stop. Christopher M. He was charged with fleeing by vehicle driving while impaired resisting arrest, refusing a chemical test possession of a firearm by certain persons reckless driving, driving the wrong way, failing to stop at a red light, no seat belt, and more. On April 19th, 2026, Forest City officers attempted to stop a driver connected to a breaking and entering investigation, but the encounter quickly turned into a countywide pursuit when the red Volvo sped away instead. Investigators also recovered suspected drug paraphernalia that tested positive for fentanyl and other controlled substances, resulting in charges including felony fleeing possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, speeding failing to yield defective vehicle equipment, and more. On May 7th, 2026, a concerned phone call from Texas prompted San Leandro police to perform a welfare check on 39year-old David McCalpin after friends feared for his well-being. Officers spent considerable time building trust and persuading him to meet face to face, believing the encounter was headed toward a peaceful resolution. >> Hello, I'm Officer Q. uh new to the force, but I'm really just trying to help you. >> Okay. >> Um I know everything's hard. >> Uh just here to talk to you again. I know. Don't feel alarmed. Do you have any weapons or anything? Any any guns, knives, or anything? >> No. >> You sure? >> Yeah. >> Okay. I know you have some. You registered some in the past, but I just want to make sure you don't have any against your hands real quick. >> Oh, yeah. >> Okay, good. Good. >> Oh, my cell phone's on my lap. >> Okay, you're good. Again, um ju just we're just here to talk, right? We're just here to talk. There's a couple of us because everything we go to there's more because of what's been going on everywhere. But >> okay. >> Um so the only reason why we're here complete honesty is your friend called us saying hey he doesn't seem normal. He said he sounded real depressed and then um told us hey uh >> I I really I'm really not feeling safe. >> Why? >> I I don't know. I'm worried you guys are going to take me to the hospital. >> Why why would you say that? because I told my friend I was feeling down. >> You can say that. You can tell your friend and I'm not going to tell your wife anything. Or [sighs] if if you want me to talk to your wife about it something like that, I can. But if you don't want me to talk to her, I don't have to. Right. It's it's your family. It's your own business, your own plan, your own future, um I want to I want to respect you on that. But for tonight, you do have to go with me to the I I'm not even going to go with you. You're just going to go with them. And um >> hey, I know this with all sincerity. Um I put my glass this year. >> What was that? Sorry. >> I'm putting my I'm telling you what I'm doing. >> Yeah. Yeah. 100%. >> I really have a lot of respect for police. I do. Um I even thought pleadingly before I joined 40 that maybe I joined. But listen guys, I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. Don't be sorry. No, you're not. You're going to be okay. This isn't a negative record or anything on you. So, yeah. So, keep your hands on your lap. Uh, just step out the car. I know you're grabbing a Zen bottle, but just stop out the car, please. >> Hey, stop. Stop shooting. >> Shots fired. Shots fired. >> Stop moving or you get shot again. Stop moving. Hey, over here. >> A negative record or anything on you? >> Reaching around, bro. Keep your hands on your lap. Put your hands up on the steering wheel. >> Uh, just step out the car. I know you're grabbing a Zen bottle, but just stop out the car, please. >> Stop. >> Two, three shots fired. Shots fired. Start med. Code three. Code three in med. Hey. Hey. Over here. Any responding units need to come down fairway to Marina. Hey, stop moving. >> Hey. Hey. Over here. Over here. Behind cover. Push to me. Push to me. Push to me. Come to cover over here. Push to come to cover. Hey, >> is everybody okay? Are we good? >> Hey, where's Q? >> All right. >> Hey, let me see your hands. >> Hey, let me see your hands. Hey, let me see your hands. >> Hey, stay behind me, bro. Get out. The incident instead became an officer involved shooting investigation after authorities recovered a firearm from Macalpin's vehicle. One final gunshot was later determined to have come from Macalpin himself. Emergency personnel attempted treatment at the scene, but he did not survive while investigators confirmed no officers or community members were otherwise injured. On July 17th, 2024, deputies with the Clayton County Sheriff's Office Blackhawk traffic unit clocked a vehicle racing down Interstate 75 at 101 mph. Rather than accept a speeding citation, the driver turned a routine enforcement stop into a high-speed interstate pursuit. trying to catch up to the reckless driver. >> Going to be a black Trackhawk. Look like we going to get on 285 east. Yeah, get on 285 east. 285 east from 285 east from 75 and show me pursuit. Speed is 91. Traffic light. Speed is 137. Traffic light still. All right. Break checking me now. Sierra like coming up to Jonesboro Road traffic speed is 115 traffic Like like you don't be throwing bags out the window. All right, break checking me again. Hit unsuccessful. Going to be coming up to Morland Avenue. Speed is 91. Traffic is light still. Getting on 685 South. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. 635 south coming into the county. Going to be approaching Hanville blocks getting over to the number three lane. Back over here pit. Good pit. Good pit. Good pit. Good pit. Good pit. Good pit. Roll over. a roller. He's in the wrong lane. Wrong lane. After the pursuit came to an end, the reckless driver was taken into custody without any reported serious injuries to deputies or bystanders. The suspect was expected to face charges such as felony fleeing to elude reckless driving, excessive speeding, and more after pushing speeds well beyond 120 mph. April 12th, 2023 started with California Highway Patrol officers attempting to stop a Volkswagen sedan for an unsafe lane change, but the driver immediately chose escape over accountability. As the miles added up, the suspect repeatedly squeezed through traffic and ignored every opportunity to bring the situation to a safe end. Ultimately, what we found out in these cases is the driver may just have a suspended license or have some warrants for unpaid traffic tickets. >> Oh, that would be a shame to be so nervous to be pull to pull over because you're you're scared about what's going to happen about something. I mean, it's not trivial, but something as minor as parking tickets or expired driver's license, >> he's in a lot more trouble now, >> you know. Yeah, guys, we're continuing northbound on the freeway, passing Templant Highway and pretty much uh you know, no man's land for the next several miles up until he gets to Gorman. Uh and then on the way up there from the from there, he basically will start getting closer to Bakersfield where there will be an additional CHP office ready to take over. Look at that. A hand out the window with his cell phone out the driver's side of the vehicle. Uh not clear what he's trying to convey there, but once again continuing for a bulk of this pursuit. Every time we get a close look at him, uh he's got that cell phone in his hand. He's basically been chas been uh continuing this chase with one hand on the steering wheel almost the entire time. Uh but again, uh at some point or just a moment ago, waving his hand at the driver's side window with that cell phone in the air, those lead units still right behind him here. the five freeway about three or four lanes as he makes his way through Gorman here. More units up ahead of him. There's actually an unrelated unit, a possible speed trap actually that just happens to be there. And look at that. There's the spike. There's the spike. And it looks like it was a miss. >> I caught it at the corner of the screen. A very rare, I would say unorthodox. Bruce could correct me. Uh, but I think it's uh maybe once a year lately that we see a spike strip attempt on the freeway. And that was one right there. But it did not look to be successful. And check it out. >> CHP coming in with air resources up the grapevine at low altitude here up the five freeways. So more source, more resources, not less, being dedicated to this pursuit. You saw that spike strip. Again, we'll get a better visual of the driver's side here coming up in a little bit to see if there was any contact. He's going to run out of fuel much faster than you or I would if we were traveling up the uh up the five freeway. And so that's again only good news. Uh I I think you can only say this is the best case scenario that any of these uh officers could have hoped for. And hopefully the resolution to this pursuit is just as optimal. Here comes another spike strip attempt. Maybe. Maybe does not look like there's Yep. Spikes across. There's the spike. And he he might have hit it. Might have hit. They got to pull it back otherwise that patrol car Yep. He hit it. >> And it looks like it looks like he hit it at le I think the patrol Did he? I You We'll have to replay that. >> I think the patrol car might have gone around it, but you can see now clearly that front right wheel heavily affected immediately going flat. Look at that. He's going to start. Didn't take long at all. Didn't take long at all. And now it looks like he's about to be running on empty at least on that front right and the right rear and the right rear. Both the right tires uh are now running low on air and they will be flat here in a second. We'll get around the driver's side if it's possible and we'll try and get a better picture of what's going on on that side of the vehicle. Guys, the pursuit continuing up the grapevine. Uh a Volkswagen Pat. Not sure if it's stolen or what other crimes have been committed here, but a dangerous driver behind the wheel nonetheless leading CHP on a tripledigit speed pursuit through the San Fernando Valley, through the Santa Clarita Valley, and up the five freeway where just moments ago, uh, not one but two spike strip attempts were made. The second one appears to have been successful, knocking out the right two tires. You're looking at the left two tires on the driver's side, which appear to be intact, but the right tires, both the front and the rear, have run out of air. He is pretty much running on flats on the right side. That's going to slow things down considerably as he continues up the five freeway at 50 to 60 mph. Continue going uphill with at least four CHP units right behind him. In fact, he's made the decision for the first time in this pursuit to get off the freeway. He ran over something or maybe the tire came apart there, but you saw some debris flying off the vehicle and now he's getting off at Smoky Bear Road here on the five freeway. >> We have a replay now of that spike strip. Oh, a big piece of tire just came. Look at that. The whole treads coming off. >> It sure did. >> He's going to have a real There's the There's the pit spinning the vehicle out of control doing a full 180 underneath the freeway and those CHP units have come out the other side. The vehicle has now come to a standstill on the underneath the freeway. Looks like those officers are getting ready for a confrontation here. He may have gone for a run. He may have gotten out of the vehicle in a foot pursuit. This is going to be a foot pursuit >> onto the freeway. He's climbing up the embankment. He's trying to get on the freeway, guys. Northbound side of the five freeway. Some trucks coming up there. And now he's in traffic northbound side of the five freeway. The foot chase is going to stop there because those officers will not chase him across the freeway over the divider. More oncoming traffic here and this is so dangerous as he comes out the other side. They will be there to meet him on the other side. But they could look at that. The K9 unit starting to cross the freeway turning around there. They will get units on the other side of the freeway within seconds here. Uh and hopefully he will just run out of steam here. Certainly the vehicle gave up on him. You saw the tires come apart, the full tire flying off the vehicle and then that successful pit maneuver underneath the freeway. He immediately jumped out of the vehicle, went for a run over all of the northbound and southbound lanes of the freeway, and he is now trying to hitchhike his way out of the >> But he's now in the middle. >> Maybe that's Oh, okay. So, he's doubling back >> over the divider again, back on the northbound side. Look at this. Trying to carjack a vehicle. He's trying to carjack other cars on the freeway. They're going to have to get more aggressive here if he continues this kind of uh behavior. But now he is trying to carjack these cars on the freeway. >> Oh my goodness. And they're at a standstill, which is not helping matters. >> He's just looking for an unlocked door. He's looking for any unlocked door to try and get out of the situation, but they are going to close in on him here pretty soon. I can't imagine that they're that far back. I don't want to lose him here. We're going to stay pretty tight, but I'm trying to look to see uh where it looks like he's trying to go down the embankment off the freeway now going down below. and they should be be able to meet him. Uh he's going back where the vehicle is and there should be officers down there. I don't see them, but you would imagine that there are more officers underneath the freeway. And there's one of them. >> Okay, we got someone behind him and then someone down on the ground, too. >> He might be hiding under the freeway up the embankment. Um you know, there's those nooks and crannies up there as opposed to running down on the street. But there is a unit moving pretty quickly. Oh, there he is. Oh, he's >> up in the air. Right, David? There were so many hiding spots under these overpasses to hide out. But it looks like he's come out the west side of the five freeway. He's now being confronted with a taser with his hands in the air. He's on his knees, not exactly complying, but here he goes now about to be proned out on the roadway down below underneath the five freeway. Still resisting. Still resisting. Four four officers on top of them. And it looks like he is going to be subdued here as that K-9 unit is barking very loudly and very aggressively. You can see this has now come to an end. And thankfully thankfully nobody hurt uh after what could have turned into a very dangerous situation. Somebody so desperate that they were even trying to carjack innocent motorists on a Wednesday afternoon here. Fortunately couldn't find an unlocked door. He gave up on that and now this foot chase has >> the pursuit ultimately left the driver in handcuffs after a failed attempt to continue the escape on foot across the freeway. Possible charges included felony evading law enforcement, reckless driving attempted vehicle theft after trying to take another motorist's car, resisting arrest, and more. On March 21st, 2024 deputies with the Clayton County Sheriff's Office Blackhawk Unit found themselves chasing far more than an ordinary sports car after a stolen Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 refused to stop. The overwhelming power under the hood quickly became more than the fleeing driver could manage as the escape spiraled out of control. Calling up you can show us 1080 pursuit with a blue Camaro. Now >> you want to tell me what you weren't for or should I always take a guess? >> I know. The suspect was captured shortly after abandoning the wrecked Camaro following crashes involving multiple vehicles. Investigators were expected to pursue charges including possession of a stolen vehicle felony fleeing to elude reckless driving hit and run and more as officers worked through the damage left behind. June 25th, 2023 brought a dangerous chain of events that began with an attempted carjacking at a Michigan gas station before the suspect switched to stealing an unlocked pickup truck instead. When state troopers located the truck on Interstate 75, the driver ignored emergency lights and committed fully to another escape. We're coming up to uh Tesla unit now. You think taking? >> Uh, to be determined. >> You hurt? >> You're not hurt? You don't need to see Amy or anything? No EMS or anything? >> No, sir. I need to go. >> Yeah, I guess. >> What's that? The suspect identified as 27year-old Donald Wade of Alma was lodged in the Oiggo County Jail following his arrest. Prosecutors charged him with attempted carjacking, unlawful driving away of a motor vehicle, and additional fleeing, and eluding charges in Chbuan County, while emergency responders checked him for injuries before the investigation continued. December 27th, 2020, officer Andrew Jenkins with the Pooler Police Department attempted to stop a speeding GMC envoy on Interstate 95 after clocking it well above the posted limit. Instead of pulling over, the driver accelerated even faster while tossing items from the vehicle, drawing the attention of multiple Georgia troopers. 168 call it a 37 connector. I am 1068 west. Somebody go out. Oh, you running straight down. Hey, somebody. Despite the driver escaping into the nearby woods, investigators soon learned the GMC envoy belonged to a woman who identified the driver only as a friend named James. The suspect was never located that night, leaving authorities to pursue charges such as felony fleeing to elude reckless driving, speeding littering evidence from a moving vehicle, and more once his identity could be confirmed. Later that evening, a driver who had already fled from the Stockbridge Police Department made another costly decision by refusing to stop for the Clayton County Sheriff's Office Blackhawk unit. The aging Toyota Camry was no match for the growing law enforcement response as the suspect desperately searched for an escape. Uh final speed uh 95. Okay. >> Lieutenant, you have a call.
