On January 8th, 2021, a late-night traffic stop in Savannah quickly raised alarms when officers realized the man behind the wheel was a wanted felon. Within moments, that realization turned into a refusal to comply that sent units scrambling across the city. Mr. Scott, can you step out and speak to me for a second, man? Please, sir. I will have to. Just come out here and speak to me for a second, too. I mean, I don't you're saying you're saying you're going to swing, but like I'm trying to see what happened or like Just come out here and speak to me. He's a felony 67. >> [screaming] >> You good? You good? Hey, man. Mr. Scott. Can't see his other hand, but he ain't got nothing in them. Is he wedged in there or is he just I think he's just hanging in on a seatbelt. >> Okay. Yeah, his his feet are hanging. His feet are good. Can you unlock it, though? Is he talking to you? Uh yeah, he was moaning and All right, buddy. I ran over his damn foot. Yeah, you ran over something cuz it right when you passed me, I seen sparks fly. Yeah, it was right in the middle of the damn road. In the aftermath, the driver was identified as Vanquon Scott, who was transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center, where he later passed away from his injuries. Authorities confirmed he had active warrants tied to family violence, intimidation, and stalking. Investigators documented that his license was suspended and the case closed with those outstanding warrants and the circumstances of the pursuit forming the basis of the final report. April 22nd, 2022 started with reports of street racing and stunt driving echoing through a Georgia neighborhood. One black Infiniti stood out for all the wrong reasons. As troopers moved in, the driver made it clear he had no intention of sticking around for questions. All right, pit. Driver's running. Trooper's behind him. He's going to be running behind. Stop him. K8677, CRK8677 >> [groaning] >> Driver was running. Trooper's behind him. He's going to be running behind. Stop him. Hands behind YOUR BACK. HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. I'M GOING TO CALL 10-3 Phoenix. 10-3 Don't you [ __ ] move. Oh, [ __ ] I got you, partner. Please, you're on the hands, assistant in custody. It appears that they got four in custody right now. 10-4, banking One of these suspects on walk on West Park. I don't have numbers. So, they told me right here. Um they going to make a left on the West Park 52. Kandle Lamar Martin was ultimately taken to Atlanta Medical Center for evaluation before being booked into the Fulton County Jail. The three juvenile passengers were released to their parents. He faced charges tied to fleeing and reckless driving. While the incident added another entry to the growing list of street racing crackdowns in the area, on October 24th, 2025, a stolen Jeep Gladiator taken from a hospital >> [music] >> set off an urgent alert with reports that a firearm might still be inside. What followed was a driver who signaled her intentions with a simple shake of the head. She was not stopping. Show me your hands. SHOW ME YOUR HANDS. SHOW ME YOUR HANDS. Paige Chandrel Flood was transported to UAMS with serious injuries while authorities prepared multiple felony charges, including fleeing theft by receiving a firearm and possession of a firearm by certain persons. The stolen vehicle and weapon were recovered at the scene, and investigators moved forward with charges covering reckless driving and operating on a suspended license. July 22nd, 2025 brought a tense situation in Los Angeles as officers tracked a suspect believed to be armed and connected to an assault with a deadly weapon. His erratic behavior and apparent taunting of officers turned an already serious situation into something far more unpredictable. Are they at all I know they they're alerted to the situation because this the suspect has now been on city streets, also on the the freeway. How how does that happen with with um the LAPD and then the CHP? Well, typically if he goes on the freeway, that uh the LAPD or sheriffs or whatever agency it might be involved would hand it off to CHP. They have more resources where they can kind of leapfrog ahead through the different patrol stations if the suspect In this area, we saw a few people on at that uh crosswalk right there. But again, when once these suspects, they start taking city streets and then Bruce, what is the other element now? Police are desperate to catch him, but this is just a very populated area. Yeah, he's in Santa Monica now, a heavy heavy pedestrian area uh and congested with vehicles. And he's driving all over the roadway. And so they've notified Santa Monica PD that they're in their area, that there is a pursuit going on. But at some point as the watch commander, you got to weigh what is the safety of the suspect, the officers, and the general uh public? >> Absolutely. I mean, we're talking about an epicenter of Los Angeles tourism right there. He was right at the boardwalk or the pier uh making a U-turn onto the curb around that box truck. It it makes you so concerned for those people, tourists and locals as well, right there at that intersection. He's going right back towards it. Do not go on the pier. I I was just going to say that that is not wise. Right there would be an unwise move. >> saw that within the last year in Newport Beach where a driver drove onto the Newport Beach Pier. It ended in gunshots and that suspect I believe was killed in that case. This guy has now come to a stop right here at the Santa Monica Pier uh the boardwalk where there is the amusement park, tourists all around. He's come to a stop. Something is throwing at the being thrown at the vehicle there. Or he's throwing something out with somebody. >> Jeez. I you saw Did you see all those people on the pier running for safety? Once you start seeing something like this He's getting out. >> This is a good sign. And he's got a dog. >> dog Wow. Bruce, he's he's getting out. Hands are up. Does not appear to be armed. This is perhaps the best outcome that we could see. Yeah, it really is. And >> Yeah, very much so. Yeah. Sorry, Colleen. No, I was just going to say This is the best outcome. The problem is is that he's kind of shielded by the car and those officers can't fully see him. It would have been better if he got on the ground and more in the middle of the intersection. Uh he had the dog there with him on the leash. He is spread out, likely listening to those commands. But thank goodness that dog is now free, likely doesn't know what to do. They're in Bruce, you know, earlier Colleen was talking about watch commanders with police departments. That's something that you have extensive experience with about when they would decide to pull back and clearly they did not do that. Yeah, as with any pursuit, there are certain things I as the watch commander need. The direction of travel, the speed, what is the reason >> dog doesn't look very vicious, but it does that change their their situation here? You see them coming out approaching the suspect um with a sort of, you know, taking safety Obviously right there you can see him with, you know, the shield. Yeah, very much so. Uh this case, it's a smaller dog. It's not a not a vicious dog. But if it were a vicious, very protective dog, that adds a whole 'nother layer. Do they have to use maybe less lethal to get the dog out of the problem? Or >> the little dog jumped back into the car. >> The dog did. He was right there in the passenger seat again. And doesn't want to come out of the car now. Uh frightening for that dog as well. They seem to be trained. I don't know on the back seat or the trunk of that car. Those two officers right there. Yeah, they want to check the trunk of that car. This will be interesting why they want to look there if there's any information they have associated with the trunk or, you know, they always do a full search of the vehicle. Right. Especially if the if he is you know, if if there is a prior assault that happened um with the deadly weapon. But I mean, it looks like looks like there's a car seat in the back seat. >> goodness. So again, this thankfully this came to a peaceful end. The suspect eventually surrendered near the Santa Monica Pier and was taken into custody without further incident. Officers confirmed he was being investigated in connection with assault with a deadly weapon. Authorities secured the vehicle, ensured no additional occupants were inside, and began the process of formally filing charges tied to the incident. June 25th, 2023 a deputy in Flagler County noticed a black sedan tearing through the night without headlights moving far faster than it should have been.
