We're one of the only units that has a tool that patrol can utilize, but it has a mind of its own. He loves to work. He's ready to work. We are primarily patrol based. We're here to assist patrol. Somebody ran from them, and for whatever reason they can't find them, they'll set up a perimeter for us, and we'll go and we're locating tool. We'll go and use the dog to find the bad guys. My dog's name is Nero. He is a Dutch Shepherd, and he just TURNED THREE. >> GOOD BOY. >> He's a pet. He's a partner. He is uh one of my best friends. He's all the things. I was always told like, "Oh, everybody Everybody retires out of K9. Like, you're never going to get an opportunity." When I had the chance, I started decoying for that, and just going to training every week, really learning about the dogs, and that's when I really fell in love with it. >> Every once in a while, if I give him really good scratches, he'll throw some paws up. >> Just getting to see how capable these dogs are. Like, you can show them anything, and they could learn it. They will always show you that they're going to give it their best, and they're going to try their hardest, and so that's really when I decided like, I want to be over here. I'm Officer Sarah Hemp. I've been with Mesa for 9 years, and with the K9 unit for 2 years. >> Hey.
