What the hell is that? >> That's Jay. You threatened to kill her? No. >> Yes. A young girl, a high school student with her whole life ahead of her. Obviously, you just told me she's dead. And I guess I'm supposed to be the person to kill her. >> This man is school janitor 42-year-old Quinn Anthony James. Detectives believe that Quinn is responsible for the murder of high school student Mujay Dumbaya. Found dead and left to disappear 50 m away from her home. While Quinn thinks he can get away with it all. >> So, [music] it's so funny. And Mujay isn't his only victim. For years, Quinn has left behind a trail of preying on one woman after the other and spending more than a decade behind bars. >> Oh, I went to 15 different prisons. >> 15. >> Now, for Mujay's sake, can they make this monster confess or is he about to slip away? >> I said, "Well, they'll be coming to see me in the next 24 hours." And sure enough, he got them. >> Put your puzzle together. >> Put it together. At 6:00 a.m. on January 24th, 2018, high school sophomore Mujay Dumboya stepped [music] out into the dark Michigan morning to walk to the school bus. Hours later, her high school contacted her mother, letting her know that Mujay hadn't made it to class. Immediately, she knew something was wrong. And when Mujay's body was discovered a few days later, abandoned in a forest in Kalamazoo, she knew who was behind it. the older man who Mujay accused of committing extremely inappropriate actions against her. 42-year-old Quinn James, a longtime felon who, in spite of his record, managed to get a job working as a janitor at Mujay's high school. Not only could he stalk her throughout the halls at school, but he had another personal connection that gave him access to her. He was the uncle of Mujay's long-term boyfriend, a man who was trusted around vulnerable individuals and was only stopped when Mujay was brave enough to speak to law enforcement about him. The trial for his sexual crimes against Mujay was set to begin in March. And with the trial, he was slated [music] to lose everything, which had police wondering how far would he be willing to go to make sure that the trial never happened. Police began looking into Quinn from the get-go, and what they found was a trail of evidence as clear as it was disturbing. On January 31st, just a few days after her body was found, Quinn was brought in for questioning. And immediately, he's got a story to tell. one of his many, many, many, many. Throughout the 3-hour interrogation, >> you said that you got a call. >> My girlfriend got a call. >> Okay. Who who called your girlfriend? >> Her nephew. >> Okay. And um what did they uh what was the conversation about? >> Um she called him. He said he was hysterical. She said, "What's wrong?" He said, "Jay is dead. They killed her. They shot her." She was like, "Wait, what is you talking about?" And she said, he was all hysterical. Jay is dead. They shot her. She's dead. They shot her. Uh, I know you know something about him. She's like, "What the hell are you talking about? This is how she's giving it back to me." Like, "What the hell are you talking about?" >> And that was a conversation. Then she called me and told me. >> Okay. >> And I was like, "What?" I was like, "Today." She's like, "I don't know. He was hysterical." >> Okay. And then I said, "Well, they'll be coming to see me in the next 24 hours." And sure enough, here you guys are. >> Yeah. If you're trying to look innocent, maybe don't tell police that you were expecting them. Though, as you might have guessed already, Quinn [music] is as dumb as he is cocky, and he'll prove that in one of the most spectacular fails we've ever seen shortly. In the meantime, keep in mind that Quinn was engaged to a woman named Tiara. Tiaru's nephew, Quay, was essentially a surrogate nephew for Quinn. And for nearly two years, Quay and Mujay had been in a committed relationship with one another. Quay often lived with Quinn and Tiara, which meant that Mujay was forced into close quarters with him, whether she liked it or not, and really there was no escape. Quinn worked as a janitor at the high school that Quay and Mujay both attended. So, as he continues to claim he had no idea how old Mujay was and makes ridiculous accusations about their relationship, just keep that in mind. >> So, what was your relationship with her? >> With who? >> Uh, the girl. >> I didn't know her. >> You did not know her. >> She came to my house with him cuz he was stay nephew came to stay with us for the summer. >> Okay. >> And every day she would come over there to spend time with him. >> Okay. and my brother, my well I call him my brother-in-law cuz we were actually engaged. He was there. My uh girlfriend's other nephew was there as well and she used to come over every day. >> Okay. >> And when she would come over, I was usually gone or I would be in my room. >> Okay. >> So, I really didn't know her. In November of 2017, Mujay bravely came forward to a school guidance counselor and reported what Quinn had been doing to her, not once, but several times. On one occasion, he offered her a ride home from school and did something truly evil and unforgivable to her. >> She said, >> "Okay, so um what's the status of that?" >> Uh we're going to trial in April. >> In April. >> April 9th. >> Okay. So, no, he don't. >> It's so funny. >> I'm laughing because >> Dquirius calls today. He calls >> Who's Dquirius? >> The Quir is my my fiance's nephew. >> Okay. All right. >> He calls her and says, >> "Your what? Your fiance?" >> Her nephew calls her at work today. He's hysterical and he says, "Um, Jay's dead. They shot her. She's dead." I know we have a case pending against each other. I know I have we have a pending case. So common sense tells me if something happened to her, I'm going to be the first person they come and talk to. So you guys are here talking to me. I don't know because the story he was telling me made no sense to me. It's like if she got shot today and she's dead, why would the police be notifying him he's not related to her? >> When he said you you've said it twice now. He said they shot her. Who's they? >> That's the same thing I said. That's what I asked. >> And what did what did he say about that? >> Well, I didn't talk to him. She I'm asking her. I'm like, "Who the hell is they?" >> Right. >> And she said, "Quinn, I don't know. That's just what he was saying." And she said he was yelling. >> You go by Quay? >> No, I go by Quinn. >> Oh, okay. >> I said, "Quinn, I don't know." That's what he said. >> So, I'm like I'm like, "That's not making no sense." >> Mhm. >> I said, "First of all, why would the police be notifying him? He's her. He's not related to her. Why would they go all the way to Sagenol to notify him? that something happened to her like minutes after it happened. That makes no sense to me. And then he was saying something about um somebody was talking about it on Facebook. I don't have a Facebook so I don't know. >> Mhm. >> Somebody was talking about it on Facebook or somebody was talking about it on Facebook or somebody called him and I see said that makes more sense. Someone calling him and saying this makes more sense than uh something just happened to her and they call and notify him or send you know police talking. >> Mhm. makes no sense to me. >> Um, but I'm not common [clears throat] sense tells me, okay, if something happened, I'm going to be the first person on your list. >> Okay, >> that I'll [clears throat] be the first person they come and talk to. Lo and behold, I just put my kids to sleep. I'm sitting on the floor and I see all these lights. I'm like, "What the hell is that?" I watch enough TV to know I'm your number one suspect. >> Disregard whatever you watch on because >> I'm I'm obviously your number one suspect. Um you're both are sitting here saying, "Okay, we have to figure out if this guy did whatever. We have to figure out if it was him. We can't let him know if you know whatever. We can't let him know what we know. We have to let him trip himself up and all this." >> Okay, that's thinking way too much advice. skill. >> Listen, >> I'm capable of a lot of things. >> You're thinking about this. >> No, I know. I know. I'm just cutting through the [ __ ] >> Yep. But you're But you're you're overthinking all of it. >> Okay. >> All right. >> You didn't stress herself out doing that. >> No, I'm not stressed at all. >> Okay. >> I'm just like, we're sitting here like we might as well cut through it because if something happened to her, if what he's saying is true, if she got shot or whatever the case may be, >> you guys are sitting here talking to me. Mhm. >> That's not my accident. >> You you you said that you thought we'd be coming to talk to you. >> Well, I have a CSC case. The boy calls and says they shot or something happened to her, whatever the case may be. I have a case with her. Something happens to her. >> Mhm. >> I would like >> I mean there's a there's cases with a lot of I mean, people get people that have cases on people. I mean, things happen to people all the time, you know. But would you agree with that? >> That's true. Um, >> did you communicate with this kid at all? >> Who? The Aquarius. >> The Aquarius? >> No. >> We don't talk. >> You don't? >> No, I don't talk to him at all. >> Why? >> For one, he dragged my son across the concrete by his feet and scraped all of his face. >> Okay. >> And then when I confronted him about it, his girlfriend said, >> "Okay." So that you think that was like payback for that? This is what I think. For whatever reason, he did whatever he did to my son. If it I don't feel like it was accident because if it was, I feel like he would have said, "Hey," he would have called me and said, "Hey, Queen got hurt by like he's done in the past cuz he's a staple for the summer." Quinton got hurt, whatever the case may be. Okay. >> Um, he didn't do that when I came home. He had the door open and he said, "We can talk about it outside." And I'm like, "Huh? What you talking about?" We can talk about it outside. Talk about what? And then I look down, I notice he has a knife between his feet. So I'm like, "Man, what's going on?" Like, "What's up?" And when I walk into the living room, he jump he runs out the door. An hour later, my fiance calls me and says, "Quinn, um, did you Jay?" I'm like, "What? Aquarius just said, "Man, I don't want to hear that [ __ ] Whatever." I hang up. She calls me back and says, "Well, I just talked to Jay. She said the same thing." And I'm like, "Whatever." 3 months later, 3 months later, I'm at work. The director calls me in and says, "Um, we have to put you on suspension with pay." I'm like, "Why? What's going on?" Oh. Um, Kimbo police are going to talk to you about it. KW police is going to talk to me about it. >> When we first met Jay, when we first first day I met her, first day he met her. Well, he had been talking to her on Facebook. First day they met in person and I took him and dropped him off to her. Then I went and picked him back up. Allegedly, she was 19 with her own apartment and all these wonderful things. We are every who who's everybody he him his brother all of us first day we met her the story she's tell the story she tells is different but >> cuz you probably read the report after [clears throat] >> all right >> the story they the story they tell is very different from what actually took place >> okay >> everything that's just come out of Quinn's mouth is a lie's story was different because her story was the actual truth she told her guidance counselor it hadn't happened just once there were at least these four separate occasions. And this wasn't the first time Quinn was accused of such behavior. Back in 2014, another woman made an accusation against him. As the saying goes, where there's smoke, there's fire. And in this case, the blaze is coming from the devil himself. >> Did you ever read the report from 2014 with that girl? >> Who? >> The girl abuse is the girl. >> No, I never read it. >> You didn't? >> I never saw it. >> You never saw it? >> There's something very similar in that can in that incident. Okay. that occurred with how we found uh Jay. [clears throat] >> I'm lost. >> Okay. And there's something very similar there. >> I'm lost. >> Okay. Um and there's also having that in mind where we found Jay. Did do you know where? I didn't even know anything happened to her. >> Like like did you see in the news? So in the news, did you see anything about from Kazoo a body being located? You didn't hear about this? >> Okay. >> She's dead. >> She is dead. >> Yeah. Aquarius said that, >> right? Um she's dead. She's been dead for a while. Um, the manner in which she was killed is very similar to something else that happened in 2014 with Britney. >> I'm lost. >> Okay. Yeah, that's I'm not seeing anything similar with that. I'm I'm not mentioning that as a similarity, but in 2014, there was a similar >> So, >> something very similar that I've never seen in my career. >> So, >> and I've seen it twice with with you now. >> So, Britney was sitting next to me at the couch. I never even touched her. So, I'm trying to figure out what was done. She sat next to me on the couch. >> Okay. No, >> cuz I never touched her at all. >> Okay. >> So, um either you >> No. No. I'm not Listen, I Nobody We don't have time for that. Time for that. And nobody wins in the end on that. It's a no win because we're wasting time if I'm jacking with you. You know what I'm trying to say? I I I would get nowhere if I was just trying to constantly trick people and jacking them. All right. Mujay was discovered in a state that is frankly too horrific to describe, but the fact that it shares a striking similarity, which police will soon explain, to a 2014 case against him shows a pattern of behavior, not just a single accusation. And the accusations don't stop there either. As of the publishing of this video, at least five women have come forward with similar accusations against Quinn. >> Can you go through Saturday with me? >> This past Saturday. [sighs and gasps] >> Okay, let me think. [clears throat] >> It's wind Tuesday right now. >> Okay, give me let me think. >> Yeah, >> I just see where you're going. You're asking me a specific day and I'm trying to think of what I did on Saturday because I was somewhere doing something and I [clears throat] don't remember what it was. Oh, I know exactly what I was doing. We needed $1,500 dollars. >> Yeah, we needed $1,500 to um you know, you got to they put it in escrow. >> Yeah. >> For the house. >> Yeah. >> Earnest money or something or >> No, I went in I went to my aunt I went to my aunt Betty. I went to my mom. >> You're telling me just around collecting money on Saturday? >> Okay. You're saying you haven't seen Mo uh Jay since the in since the court case? >> I can't. >> You have not? >> Can't. Even if I wanted to see her, I can't. And I don't want to see her. But no. >> All right. And uh last time you were in Cal, you're sc was 2013. >> It was. >> Yeah. I'm not sure if it was exactly 2013. It was I had to cook my nap. It >> was a long time ago. I haven't been here in a long time. >> Okay. >> Saturday is an important day because it's the day that Mujay's body was disposed of. And little does Quinn know, but police have some evidence pointing directly to him being at the site her body was dumped. When he finds out for the very first time, he doesn't take it well. In today's techn in today's day and age, you know, you can't step out two feet without being seen or being inadvertently tracked >> or being picked up by cameras or etc., etc. You know what I'm saying? >> Mhm. >> And not necessarily, you know, with your phone. >> Okay. >> Um, like there's other means as well. um like cars even have things inside of them that that we don't even that that the general public doesn't know about. >> Okay, >> there's another in there's another thing that comes into play and okay where where Muj was placed. Okay. And um the city has had a problem. The city of Kamazoo has had a problem in that specific area with people dumping garbage. >> Okay. >> So there is they they came up with a bright idea of putting up a like a have you ever heard like a trail camera? Do you know a trail camera? Hunters use them to look at wild game in the woods >> and they they affix them to a tree and they're camouflaged and they blend in with the tree. Well, that trail cam went up a week ago yesterday. >> Okay. >> So, last Monday. So, it's been up for 8 days going on to 9 days. Okay. We had no idea about this trail can. >> Okay. >> Once we recovered uh Jay from where she was placed in the woods. Okay. We were contacted by supervisor of the water department and said, "Hey, we see that there is there was a body recovered in this location. Uh, we have a trail cam. Are you interested in seeing that?" Well, sure. That's the jackpot, right? So we go ahead and and it has a you familiar with a card that goes inside of a camera like a digital camera SD card. Yes, they take those. Okay. >> Well, this thing had numerous pictures on it. Okay. It from for from for from being up last Monday. >> Okay. >> Okay. which would have been the 22nd [clears throat] uh >> what 21st 2 whatever it was last month >> and in reviewing those it also has an infrared do you know what IR mean infrared is is you can see >> I got one more >> so you're very familiar with it so you can see in the dark >> it it emits a light that's not able to be seen by the naked eye and it illuminates the darkness whatever is out there they It refracts off of whatever is out there. Uh, you know what else it refracts off of? It refracts off of tail light lenses and license plates. Okay. Um, depending on the angle, but it certainly refracts off of license or off of tail light lenses. All right. So, even when a car pulls in there, um maybe let's say with there even lights off, it detects the movement because deer don't walk around with lights on them. Okay? Uh in a car is much larger than a deer. It shoots out that infrared light and it captures a burst of three photographs, okay? In the darkness, pitch black darkness. [clears throat] Whether it's pitch black or during the day, it does both. you know, we're we're very fortunate. Um, and we have information from that as well. It shows the back of a Lacrosse tail lights. >> Okay. >> Okay. And it it shows other things as well. This is obviously a a picture of a phone. Okay. It's not a phone. when I zoomed up and it's it's dark in here, but I I I will share that with you. Okay. Now, that is with the lights off. >> That's a lacrosse tail light. >> Mhm. >> Doesn't look like a lacrosse tail light. >> And it's not illuminated right now. >> Oh, >> you see that? You You see the the the shape? >> Mhm. >> That's not a lacrosse tail light. >> It It is. >> I have a lacrosse. >> I know. We know. We're aware of that. here. >> His rear tail light of a 2012 vehicle cross >> and it's white. >> No, no, no. That's just a stop. >> Disregard the >> disregard the color. That's That's just a Yeah. >> Interesting. >> Okay. >> It's very interesting. >> It is. Yeah. Same shade. >> Exact same shape. >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> Why is it always the worst people who are the most confident? In this case, despite there being clear evidence on the table, his car photographed at the dump site when Mujay's body was disposed of, he still believes he can wiggle out of it. And a car is at the dump site >> with similar >> with not similar, the same. Not similar. Similar is is give is being uh uh pretty [clears throat] >> the No, not a Buick Regal. Who said Who said? I didn't say similar. You said similar. Don't the same. Yeah. Don't put words in my mouth cuz I don't put them in yours. >> They have these Buccross headlights. Just tell me it's a Buccross. >> Not headlights. >> I mean tail lights. I'm sorry. There's these Buick Cross tail lights or some tail lights that are similar to a Bu could be I guess it could be a Regal. They're protected. >> No, don't. No, no, no, no. It's a Buick Lacrosse. >> There's a Buick Cross at the dump site. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Okay. Buick lacrosse at the dump site where a girl >> So, let me ask you a question. is dumped, doused in bleach. >> If your camera can see the freaking Buick across, why can't it see the person that's there? >> Depends on where it's placed in the angle. >> If you you got it. You haven't. You don't know. >> Please don't tell me that this damn camera just recorded one little headlight. It It's a No, that's not No. Come on, man. >> That would be your [ __ ] luck, wouldn't it? >> No, that wouldn't be my [ __ ] luck cuz I didn't do it. >> Okay. >> It wouldn't be my [ __ ] luck. So this got one corner of tail light from a car and you're saying, "Oh, that's a Bule cross." But Quinn, you just happen to drive a Bu. You got two of them. [laughter] >> Claim you don't drive one. Yeah. >> You don't drive only one. You drive two of them. >> YOU GOT TWO OF THEM. >> We saw two. >> There's two freaking people. So your camera or their camera can see this [ __ ] but >> they can't see opening the door and walk across. I'm not going to say that. I'm not going to say that. >> You're telling me that. You know how why you're telling me that? >> Why? >> Because if whoever else would be at hand, cuz you wouldn't be sitting here talking to me. >> Why? >> You'd be talking to him or her or them or whoever. You'll be talking to that person. You wouldn't be talking to me. You wouldn't be I'm going to tell you something else. I believe cross you wouldn't be talking to me. >> Why? >> You would be arresting me. >> Why? because you would be I have a beautiful cross and there's all these similarities, not me. You're trying to put something away. >> There is also the manner in which Jay was placed on the ground. >> It's exactly identical to 2014. >> It is something that and something that you um threatened to do. >> I'm sorry. How what what the manner in which Jay was placed on the ground and what was placed on her was the exact same manner as a way of what you threatened Britney in 2014. >> The officer pulls up the report on his phone, which is quite nice of him since Quinn would love to see it. >> Yep. >> And that you were in prison. This is it. Since you cuz you're going to prison and you've been in prison since you were 14 is what you told her. >> That's what I told Britney. >> Yep. And I'll let you look at this. I mean, I have no problem with that. Quinn told her. Oh, first of all, would you like to see the case number? It's Well, the 629 of 2014 is the date that it was reviewed. Okay. So, you can see that we're not online. >> Okay. >> All right. I guess I should have read it myself when my lawyer had it, but >> that says page 40 of 12. >> Yeah, that's the long report. >> Exhausted from seeing nothing but smug smiles on Quinn's face, the officer pulls up something else for Quinn to look at. >> Okay, cuz I don't want you to see the rest of it. >> I'm not going to move. >> Okay. What the hell is that? >> That's That's Jay. >> You said he just said, "Do we have a girl from 2014?" >> Yes. >> Wrapped in a blanket with >> No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No, no, no, no, no. Okay. >> No. Threatened to. >> We never said Britney was wrapped in a blanket in No. That's what you said. Okay. Threatened. >> Threatened to do. Okay. >> And >> And now we have a girl that has a case against you. You just got bound over to to circuit court. Okay. >> You have everything. You have the the biggest motive in the world here. Okay. All day long. All day long. >> It would appear that way. >> Yeah. And lo and behold, >> the same damn thing happens to her that you threatened to do to a girl in 2014, which I've never in my in my career, your career, anybody in our office has never heard of this before. >> And then add to it, then let's not forget there's bills across headlights. >> There's I'm sorry. >> There's bills across. No, no, not headlight. at the dump site. >> At the dump site, right? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, >> you know, we >> It has to be you, Quinn, cuz there's all these similarities. >> Not me. >> No, >> not you. >> How is it you? >> How is it? Yeah. You need to tell us. You need to sell to us how it's not you. >> How is it? >> It looks like it's your signature. >> I don't have a signature. Well, well, let's go back 2014. Yeah. >> Me and Britney sat on the couch. Never touched her. Never had an argument. Never had a course word. >> Um, girl, >> who you Britney? >> Never touched her. >> Okay. >> Never touched her. The lady at um >> another similarity. >> The lady at um Applebee's said we were laughing and joking and play when we walked in. You going to laugh, joke, play somebody just don't think so. It's a croc of [ __ ] Never touched Britney. didn't do anything to Jay. Don't know anything about it. >> The the similar the similarities in these two cases are unbelievable >> because you're alleged to have written that true. I don't know where where that came from. >> You're alleged to have in 2014. >> She said that or not. >> You're you're alleged to have written in 2014. Now 2017, you're alleged to have with Jay. She goes to the police. You actually get charged with it. You're bound over and now she shows up dead and there may be involved also. >> This is such [ __ ] >> I understand why you guys were at my door. I get it. You have a case with this girl. Y >> you're barking at the door. >> So how is it that you So mention that this case is going away. >> What case is going away? >> The case with Jay. >> How is it going away? >> You have told people that. We ain't told him. >> I've talked to people that you told that can tell you I told him that case was going away. >> There's text messages in here. >> I was saying it was going away. >> Yeah. >> Or what I say is if cuz my lawyer, according to my lawyer, don't >> I talked to somebody today that you talked to that said the charges had been dropped. >> Have the charms been dropped? >> Yeah. No. >> No. >> That's what you said. >> That's what you told the person though. >> I would love to know where you got that. [snorts] I would love to know who can quote me as >> I'm sure you would. >> I really would. >> Quinn lacks the ability to put himself in anyone else's shoes, which means he'll never truly understand the pain he's caused Mujay's family. Mujay's family immigrated from war torn Sierra Leone when Mujay was just 3 years old. For her mother and stepfather, it was like winning the lottery, a chance to have a life away from war and violence and instability. Instead, Mujay was met with violence at the hands of an adult that she trusted. Speaking to MTV, her older sister stated, "Without Mujay, there is no more beauty in our lives. Keep that in mind as Quinn continues to giggle and laugh and huff and puff." [sighs] Lord, >> you know what we have here is things. You know, we start with a puzzle. You dump it out. You dump it out. You slowly put it together. You start with the outside and we'll work our way in. >> My son does puzzles. >> So do mine. >> We were doing one tonight. My my my my daughter likes puzzles. >> And >> put your puzzle together. >> Put it together. >> Not in it. >> Well, [laughter] you are you are going to laugh it. When you get done putting your puzzle together, the pieces don't lead to >> Well, the pieces are all leading. >> I don't care what you have. >> How is it not you? >> How is it? >> How How is it not? >> We We answered your question. How was it? >> You need to answer our question. >> How can you How can you answer how isn't it? >> Oh, Lord. First of all, haven't seen, haven't talked, no contact with Jay. First of all, >> okay. >> Second of all, haven't been to Kamoo. I don't care if you got a Buick Lacrosse, black with titted windows. The license plate don't say Queen J. It ain't mine. I don't care. I don't care if you got a black man walking across the woods. It's not me. So, you can How is it? How is it not? All you want to. You got the wrong person. Well, that that's a very vague >> explanation that you just gave on how it happened. >> Let me ask you a question. How do you defend yourself against something that you didn't do? >> By giving us sexual information alibi? >> A alibi for when you ali when? For what day? What time? What do you want me to give you alibi for? For when? Give me your alibi for when? Help me help you. >> How about this? from Thursday until Sunday. >> From this past Thursday till Sunday >> till Sunday evening. >> Oh my god. You're asking me I can't remember what I did. 20 minutes >> med school. You're asking me to tell you what I did from Thursday till Sunday. Well, Saturday we already got covered. We know where I was at on Saturday. >> Well, here we go. >> Okay. >> It is. It really is. >> But you're trying to put it on me and it's not. >> I'm not trying. You guys listen the You know what? >> We're trying your hardest. >> No, you know the last thing that we both want to do in our career is put the wrong person. >> Oh, I'm not saying frame. I'm not saying >> we're giving you facts. >> I'm not saying Okay. >> Because we showed you police reports. We showed you pictures. >> I'm going to give you a fact. >> Whatever happened to her, I had nothing to do with it. I didn't do it. I don't know anything about it. And what what would you think a reasonable person would believe hearing all the facts of this case >> and 2014 >> say is only thing I've heard you say is and I don't even >> I I just ask you what you know now >> what do you think a reasonable person would say >> only thing I know to be fact you're saying um there's a police report where I said all these things to Britney I've never said those things. >> Okay. You said I believe you said that I I never touched her at all. >> Who? Britney. >> Yeah. >> You never touched her at all. Never. In fact, and now that I think about it, that night when I'm sitting there talking to the police lady, they the things you saying now, they didn't even say then, but it's strange to me. I'm sitting here now. >> I'm not making up. >> All these things are being said and it's been what, four years? The first time I've ever heard of any of this. >> I'm not making it up. I can say that. You said that your owner had a one thieves report. Obviously, he did not page. >> He or she did not. >> I didn't even read I didn't even bother reading it. >> Well, he would have been a waste of a read anyway cuz you were missing you were missing 95% of it. >> I guess >> so. >> You know what I'm saying? >> Yeah, I understand what you're saying. I get it. I get it. I get it. I get it. I get it. >> We wouldn't be doing our job if we >> I understand. I I swear to you. I understand. I get it. I do. Not me. >> Not you. >> Wrong person. >> Who then? >> Don't know what her lifestyle is. I don't know what she does. >> What's her connection to Kazoo? >> Obviously, you just told me she's dead. And I guess I'm supposed to be the person that killed her. I did. >> No, I'm not the person that killed her. I've never done anything to her other than what I've told you. Seems like you you have some of the worst luck >> has anybody ever seen in my life. >> You [clears throat] know what people tell me? >> Yeah, I don't. >> I'm too nice. You always want to help people. You got to get hurt in this [ __ ] like >> I'm upset. I'm getting upset. >> Perhaps finally realizing that he can't wiggle his way out of surveillance footage. Quinn backtracks and once more laments how annoyed he is that Britney is lying. >> Yeah. And it's just convenient to me that all of a sudden this is the first I've heard of this in four freaking years. This is the first I've ever heard of this. And it just so happens that according to you Jay had beach burns. [clears throat] All this is just convenient. Oh, and there's a lacrosse tail light. >> I'm not making any [ __ ] up. >> [ __ ] is so >> How could I make it up? I [sighs] couldn't. [gasps] >> And you show me a picture of a white lacrosse. Well, that that black. >> Hold on. You know exactly why he showed you a white one. It's cuz it's just a tail. >> You couldn't show me the actual picture from the actual thing. That looks like the key to my car. >> It's mine. >> You drive a beautiful Chevy. >> Oh, that's Oh, it's a Chevy. Okay. >> It's all just so neatly packaged and it all says Quinn, you're guilty. It is. But the >> You're right. It's neatly packaged. You're right. The part is >> I agree is not guilty. >> And I'm not saying you want me to be. I'm pretty sure you want to close your case as soon as possible. I get it. But >> not if it's not the right person. >> Well, you be willing to take a poly. >> See, I knew you were going to ask me. Didn't I explain that to you earlier? >> I know you did earl. There was a reason you explained that >> I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't >> I'll never take a lie detector test. And it's not cuz I'm hiding anything. It's not cuz I'm scared. It's because I took one and I failed horribly for some [ __ ] that was proven. >> And what year what year what year was that? >> That was 2015. >> But you you had to fail for a reason, which I don't know what that reason is. I wasn't there. I had no knowledge about it. >> The band asked me, "What state are we in?" I said Michigan. And it was a freaking lie. >> And you were saying that was 15. That's why you wouldn't take a polygraph. >> I would never take a polygraph. >> So in 2014 before you failed failed miserably, you refused to take a polygraph. Yes, you did. >> No, I did not. I went down there and took a polygraph. What are you talking about? You did not. >> Your information is not a polygraph exam. >> Oh, LISTEN TO ME. LISTEN. STOP. STOP. STOP. NO. BECAUSE your information is wrong. That lady asked me if I would take a polygraph. She says yes. She gave me a card with a number say you have to call down there and set it up. I called. I set it up. I went down there to take the polygraph. I sat there for three hours and you know what they told me? Something something happened. He won't be in today. And I took home. >> A polygraph exam was scheduled for Mr. Quinn on August 4th of 2014 at 9:30 a.m. >> I scheduled that. >> I was told, and when I say I, I'm referring to the officer, the detective writing the report. I was told by examiner Robert Start that Mr. Quinn has declined to take a forensic polygraph examination. >> I sat there for 3 hours and the guy did not show and some lady was at the little thing told me something happened or other. He's >> You showed up down there. You showed up at 9:00 a.m. down there. >> And you advised the detective bureau administrative assistant Tammy Erenss that you would not be doing the polygraph. >> Correct. That is that lady. Why would SHE sat there for three hours and that lady told me that man was not going to >> So you're saying there you got there at 6? No, >> that was at 9:00 a.m. >> When I got there, I sat there for 3 hours. I took off work and sat there for 3 hours. >> But at 9:00 a.m. you you told >> No, at 9:00 a.m. you told her you're not taking any polygraph. >> I go down there and tell her just don't just don't go. You showed up at 30 minutes early. You scheduled it for 9:30. You show up at night until I'm always early. I go to everything early. >> But you didn't Bible study. You were late for >> I was slept. >> Okay. >> I got three kids. >> Here you go. >> When James is the human with the worst luck I have ever seen >> and everybody's This whole police report's a lie. >> This whole police report is a lie. >> That all that [ __ ] about bleach and blankets and >> and you and you refusing to take a polygraph is a lie. Now, we're here to talk about a young we're here to talk about a girl here that is dead. All right. A young girl, a high school student. >> Listen, >> with her whole life ahead of her, >> let me tell you how I really feel about that. >> You're glad? >> No, I'm not glad. >> Okay. >> It's even more something happens to her. >> Quinn James is sitting here. >> Yeah. >> Talking to two homicide detectives. >> I'm in the car. The guy that was driving over here called Tiier on my phone. I can hear her on the phone talking. Are you going to say something? B, you going to say something? I hear her pull up to the house. I hear her saying, "I live here. I live here." I hear all my kids screaming that I can tell you. I talked to a detective that's there now. Everything is good. The people that are there are very nice. They're getting along well with Tiara and your children. >> Okay, >> I will tell you that. >> I hear my kids scream and >> that's hard cuz I'm sitting in the back of the police car barefoot cold as >> it's whatever happened to her. She's a 16 year old child whole like >> 17 now. >> 17y old child. She can't be 17 now. She can't be cuz if she's 17 now my charges [ __ ] cuz my charges are 15 or under. So she definitely can't be 17 or the charges shouldn't even exist. So that's impossible, >> but it's not impossible because the charges didn't stem from just two incidents like he's claimed. The first occurrence happened when Mujay was a freshman. She was within the age range that the criminal charge is specified for. He has no idea. But here he's telling on himself and he told on himself plenty of other ways too. >> What's going to happen when your DNA comes back? My DNA does not come back. When you get your DNA back, go get who it is. I'm not saying I'm not saying about DNA, >> whatever it is. >> I'm just saying contact DNA, touch DNA, >> what hair, fibers, uh, skin, skin cells, whatever it >> is. It's not going to be me. >> Here, I got a question. >> Yes, sir. >> When you guys get your DNA back? >> Yep. >> And it's not qu >> Mhm. >> Will I get official apology from the department? >> An official apology? >> Yeah. So, like when you run your DNA, >> it comes back to whoever. >> Mhm. >> Are they going to send me a letter and be like, "You know what? Our bad." >> Are we accusing you of anything or are we getting information gathered? >> I think you guys are Yeah. >> Are we gathering information? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> In a in a in a somewhat acute manner. >> You can't I You have an extremely argumentative personality. You know what? Ultimately, DNA did come back, linking Quinn directly to the case. Inside his car, Mujay's blood was discovered and his DNA was also located on her body. Quinn was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Mujay, and in addition was given 20 to 30 years for the other crimes he committed against her for Muj's family. The only relief is that he won't be able to do this to anyone else ever again. Our thoughts are with Mujay's family. We hope you enjoyed today's video. 85% of our viewers aren't subscribed.
