I >> think we got what is his name? Dean. I don't know. When I walked out the door and then when >> So, what time in this morning was he here? >> Maybe 10:11. >> About 10:11 this morning. >> Mhm. >> Right. And And did he And he had a cut by his eye or something? >> He had Yeah, I could see he'd had a some type of a wound. >> Okay. So, it's about 10:30 or 11 and he just came and >> and then he came back again. >> So, he used the bathroom or something. Then >> he came in, went to the bathroom. I don't know how he knew about the bathroom and then he walked out. It was odd. Okay. >> So, I kind of kept an eye out and he never came back in. And >> did he talk to anybody else or anything or >> No, just that I'm aware of. >> Okay. >> Nancy, did you talk to the guy when he came in this morning? >> Yeah, cuz I talked to him cuz we were all right here working. >> Okay. >> It was just like, okay, that's weird. or anything, >> but we'd had that >> coming once in a while on his bike and we always watched, but that's the only guy that's ever came in here. >> Okay, >> that seemed like >> So that was that was then and then he came back again. >> He must have came in out in one of the side like probably the side door out there. >> Okay. >> Cuz then he came in and he sat down on our chair on that ben that uh trunk and I walked over to him and I'm like, "Can I help you?" And he's like, Uh well I'm trying to warm up and I said okay well you you can't stay here. >> I said is it okay with you if I call the police? >> He's like yeah it's okay. So then I just had Anita call the non emergency number and then that's when Eric come down like I don't know what to do with him. I mean he can be warm but he definitely looks like he's a drug and I don't know him. I don't know what could happen. So Eric stood >> Dean survived the crash and was treated at a hospital before investigators confirmed his identity and discovered he had an outstanding felony warrant. He was later convicted of secondderee recklessly endangering safety and received a 2-year prison sentence, 4 years of extended supervision and a restitution order. On March 23rd, 2023, an Arkansas trooper spotted a Silver Jeep Wrangler traveling more than 100 mph along the interstate. Bryson faced charges including felony fleeing possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. While Micaaya was charged with possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. June 6th, 2023, a motorcycle rider allegedly caught a state trooper's attention by traveling at an extremely high rate of speed on a public roadway. Instead of slowing down once law enforcement became involved, the rider reportedly continued pushing the motorcycle to speeds approaching 134 miles per hour. That 37 535. This is area. >> Get on the ground. I'LL LET MY DOG GO. HE'S GOING TO BITE YOUR ASS. >> HEY, GET UP. GET UP. GET UP. WALK TOWARDS ME. >> FACE AWAY FROM ME. >> BACK UP TO MY SOUND OF MY VOICE. Your shoulder hurts. >> Yeah. >> How about that ego? >> Officer. >> The pursuit ended after officers successfully brought the rider into custody following a roadside crash. Information regarding the writers's identity and any resulting charges was not provided in the available details. Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024. Police in Alhhamra were attempting to recover a reported stolen pickup truck when the driver allegedly refused to cooperate. Investigators say the suspect began taking increasingly dangerous routes through neighborhoods, sidewalks, and residential areas while trying to avoid capture. >> Farmer along with Scott Wright, Brianna [music] Ruffalo. This has been Eyewitness News at 11 a.m. Again, go to ABC7 Los Angeles app to continue watching the chase. >> And Scott, we are back on our streaming channel now as we >> continue. So, Scott, I heard you mention Alhhamra PD. Do you believe that they have re-engaged or they're just kind of monitoring or was that just something that you saw? >> No, they're on them now. I can see it out the window and you'll see a moment, but there's a PD car coming pretty quick right behind him. Now, open up a little bit, Marcel. We saw him top of your screen. There's the [clears throat] Alhamra PD unit, I believe. And then you see the suspect. So, there's two of them now. I don't see an air unit overhead, but they have engaged here. Uh the suspect is uh on Garfield Avenue headed southbound down back towards the 710. And now you see two patrol cars right behind him and we do have some activity up ahead. Looks like maybe some construction or signal light that is stopped and some vehicles there. So it'll see how the suspect drives in that type of situation when we come up on turn. I think it might be in Garfield Avenue once again going southbound. Uh so when that happens, they have the opportunity to get units uh in position to use a spike strip. And now we have the suspect coming down towards a signal light that is red and there is stopped traffic. So you see him making a abrupt turn to go down into an area. He was just in this. >> He just went Yeah, he was going the other direction down that lane. >> Yeah, exactly. Opposite direction and now he's headed that way. So the longer it stays here, the more patrol units you're going to see in the area. Then they'll have the chance to do the pit maneuver maybe in a spike strip and get this over with. Well, then you also think that if he continues to like get in the same area, they can close that intersection. You know, they can have officers. But here we go again. Now he's driving into oncoming traffic. Uh officers are behind him. Um but this is this is where it gets really scary for uh anybody who might be driving because and again it's such an odd thing that he keeps going in the same space but now really picking up speed. every time they even had an opportunity for pit, it it's [music] right next to somebody's house. I mean, this is a congested area and they, you know, you're you're potentially causing [music] some significant harm or damage or injury. Uh so, yeah, I'm I'm every time we've seen it, it's just it seems like he approaches the intersections too fast to try to pit him. And even if they did pit him, in those moments, it looks [music] like it could cause more harm than anything else. And but then again, here you have this >> where he is navigating traffic and now he's stuck. >> It went into a dead end area. Yeah. And this we'll see if he makes a run for it to backs out. Now the strategy though, you know, if you had a patrol car right behind him, this would be over. >> Yeah. >> You'd have three patrol cars parked there. It wouldn't be over, but he might try and run. Oh boy, look at this guy. Is this guy have any idea that this truck's being pursued? I wonder. Or it's just like, hey, I'm pulling in here. Get out of my way. >> Um it's it's hard to say. Oh, and he knocked over. >> He just knocked over a power pole. >> Yeah, I there's a power pole. I can't see if there's a tree or something, but And now he's going in front of that tree to try and get back on the street. So, this guy's desperate to get away. And there's a patrol car. Yeah, boy. Almost got him right there, Philip. I think if he had been able to hit the back of that vehicle, we could have had it stopped. >> Well, that was either either a telephone pole or it was probably not a power pole. You're right. But it did look like it was the wire. It hit the wires that were above that might have been phone [music] lines maybe. But when he the way he hit that pole, I did see a bit of a wrinkle maybe on the side panel. Uh but but underneath it's it's going he's going to have some damage to [music] that vehicle, but it doesn't seem to be affecting the way the the truck is handling at all. >> Wow. >> Yeah. Look at that. Up onto the sidewalk. And you wonder why there's nobody behind him. There was a truck in the way at that intersection up in front of these homes and then content to stay on the sidewalk and not get right onto the street and now turn back to the north. So, boy, you know, just in the last couple of minutes, the driving has gotten extremely erratic. And I think they may take that into consideration, Philip. You know, we had the patrol cars behind the vehicle and they decided to back off. But now with no one behind the vehicle, he seems to be more aggressive and driving at a higher rate of speed. So they may start to change their strategy a little bit and say they got to get around and behind this got there are homes and a residential area. Some go right by a bicyclist. There's a lot of folks out. You know such a gorgeous day. To be outside right now is just so wonderful. Some kids are out on spring break as you mentioned. And we had it going the suspect going at extremely high rate of speed for absolutely no reason it seemed. Now we stopped for a moment. This has happened about three or four times in the past. We sort of speculated that maybe he's doing that to see if there's any patrol cars behind him. If anybody actually comes up behind him because he stops for a little bit and then he takes off. There's a bicyclist going by. Took a look at the guys like, "Why are you stopped in the street?" I wouldn't think that he would know that this individual is being pursued because there's no patrol cars around. And as I look around, there's no patrol cars headed this way right now. LA County has a helicopter overhead. So they have radiated in exactly where this individual here as well and into oncoming traffic or into at least that lane of opposite direction. Then making a quick turn. So it it's very difficult to get any sort of gauge. Oh, there he goes into an apartment structure or parking structure. Not certain if that's the same one we saw him go into before. It is not. Uh this may be next to a shopping center. As I mentioned earlier, a lot of suspects will try and use this as a tactic to try and get away because you can't be seen from the air. That's a big parking structure as well. So, it'll be uh interesting to see if the suspect comes out again like he did that one time when he went into a parking structure or if he just goes inside there, gets out of the vehicle. >> Looks like we found him. >> There he is right back out. So, I guess that's not what he was trying to do. He >> isn't that odd, too, though, Scott. I mean, that's that's that seems odd to go into the parking structure. It we've seen that before where they park and they get out and they try to blend into whatever surroundings and walk away. This person has driven into parking structures but then comes right out the other side and it's happened multiple times. >> Yeah. I went in, turned around and came right back out. So I, you know, extremely difficult if not impossible to try and get an idea what he's thinking or, you know, what his plan may be here. We always hope that his plan is to go into a parking structure, get out, >> decided to drive safely. Were those in >> motorcycle lanes >> officer there on the side there >> that he just drove by >> officer there that was the spot where he backed up into that telephone call that you just saw a moment ago. So that gives you an idea just staying in the exact same place. I mean within three or four blocks he's been through the three or four blocks I would say you know at least half a dozen if not a dozen times now coming past all the same homes. So if he knows this area you know who knows at this point in time. Uh but uh law enforcement still is content to just completely back off on this individual and uh you know as you mentioned hopefully makes a run for it just gets out of the vehicle and there would no longer really be a threat. >> Okay, Scott. Well, we are just about going to wrap this thing up. You see a couple of See, therein is another part of this process. You see these people getting upset and engaged. Uh but we've [music] got about 20 seconds left in this Scott. So we're going to wrap our coverage up of this. We will continue to monitor it and we will let you know if anything uh >> The chase ended after the suspect abandoned the truck and attempted to run away on foot. Officers arrested the driver near Garfield Avenue and Mlan Street while a woman associated with the scene was also taken into custody pending further investigation. February 21st, 2023, Conway police attempted to stop a black Dodge Charger, [music] but the driver allegedly decided that pulling over was not an option. As the pursuit stretched across central Arkansas, investigators say the driver repeatedly reached dangerous tripledigit speeds while trying to escape JFK. Okay. Speed 112 JFK going. We're going take JFK. Take JFK. MOTHER, I'MMA KICK YOUR ASS IF you [ __ ] stupid Mother, you want to scare me? PUT YOUR HAND BEHIND YOUR BACK. PUT your hand behind your back. >> Put your hand behind your back. Okay. Put your hand behind your back. Okay. >> Put the head back. Why you make these, dude? The driver was identified as Cory Simmons, who was medically evaluated before being returned to Faulner County authorities. Simmons was arrested after allegedly fleeing on foot and resisting arrest, adding those allegations to the events that began with the vehicle pursuit. On July the 29th, 2025, Indianapolis officers discovered a vehicle connected to a carjacking from the previous day and began following it through the city. With four occupants inside, the situation appeared routine at first, but investigators say that changed within seconds of the stop. As officers moved in to detain the occupants, 19-year-old Tyson Reach allegedly became involved in a violent confrontation that dramatically escalated the encounter.
