She's dead and I need to know what happened to her. >> That's the last time this girl is. >> That's my baby. >> Look at me. >> Look at me. >> This is Adam Bird, the last person that 22-year-old Jade Alvarez called and met up with before being brutally killed. Now Adam will lose it. >> And I'm trying my best. >> She didn't want to have my kid, man. >> Completely unaware that detectives have already found that exact call on Adam's own phone. >> You know what happened? You left your phone. It dropped. It's at the scene. >> It's gonna eat you alive. You need to talk to me why this happened. >> On April 6th, 2023, an officer in San Antonio began their patrol by making a shocking discovery. Lying on the sidewalk, they found the body of 22-year-old Jade Alyssa Alvarez, a hardworking mother who was dedicated to getting her education and moving up in the world to support her 3-year-old son. Talking to witnesses and friends of Jade led them to Adam Bird, Jade's boyfriend, who grabbed the investigator's attention for two main reasons. Firstly, Julia, Jade's close friend, was driving with Jade prior to her murder. Jade spoke to Adam on speaker using Julia's phone. And when Adam asked Julia to drop Jade off, she obliged. And when she provided these phone records and calls to officers, it immediately made Adam a person of interest. Secondly, Adam had been implicated in a robbery at a local store where he was a regular customer. Based on that charge alone, police were able to bring him into custody and question him. But he had no idea when he sat down that his robbery charge was the least of law enforcement's concern. What they really wanted was a murder confession. And when they got it, they'd be blown away by how callous it was. The following footage was provided to us by the San Antonio Police Department. Hey, do you would you prefer the handcuffs in front? >> Yes, please. >> But are you thirsty, man? >> Yes. >> Would you like some water? Cold? >> Uh, sure. >> Cold or hot? >> Yes, >> you cold. >> Okay. Cold. >> It's hot outside, man. >> Thank you. >> You're going to be cool. Put the cuffs in front. >> Yeah. >> All right, man. All right. I'm detective and uh before we get started, obviously, you know, you're not free to leave. You're in the ankle. So, I have to read you read you your rights before I talk to you or do anything like that. All right. Okay. >> The detective reads Adam his rights and begins by going over his basic information. That would be a lot easier if Adam could answer a single one of his very simple questions. After several minutes of struggling, he offers an explanation why. >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry. >> Ah, you're good. You're good. You need some more water. What's your address right now, Adam? I don't have one. You're >> homeless. >> Okay. >> I was really really just got done bunking with my uh godp parentents at or you weren't on the scene, were you, whenever I got arrested? >> Mm-m. >> No. Mm-m. >> I had asked them if they would take my my duffel bag back to my parents house. >> I don't know if they did that or not. I wasn't out there. I would have arranged for that to happen, but I'm I'm unsure if that happened now. So, like I said, I'm an investigator, right? And my job I'm not patrol in case you're looking. I'm an investigator, so my job is to investigate crimes and things that go on. Um, mine's kind of not really a big deal. I just want to talk to you about it and we'll go from there. Um, but before we get started, man, I just it's my job to find things out, right? And from what I see just looking at you, you know, even though you're well-dressed and you present well, you're still going through a tough time. You know, you're just told me that you're homeless. You just told me like to take all your belongings, your bag to Ridgewood Court like as a favor. Like that's a big thing to you cuz are all the things you own in that little bag. >> Yeah. Like your all your possessions. >> The only other articles of clothing I own. So you're just a guy in a tough time right now, basically. So this is my investigation that I have here and it have um and it's about the the a little the theft over at um on Freddixburg that that gas station on the corner. Yeah. So I'll talk about a little bit more. Um, so like I said, man, I think you're just a dude going through a hard time right now. And what I have here is this case, and I don't think I have the same person in this case. What I'm trying to do is just give you the opportunity to talk about like your side, cuz there's two sides to every story. All right. I'm giving you the opportunity, that's what I'm doing right now, to tell me about like why you did certain things that you did, why you had going on, and if and if you're basically sorry for everything that that went down. Okay. I really am sorry for any wrong that I have done, you know. >> Are you familiar with that corner store that that uh the stripes? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> So, do you go there often? >> Yes, I did. >> Okay. So, also before I go, like I said, it's my job to investigate. Let's just say right now, man, that nobody got hurt. That's a good thing. That's a positive thing on your side, man. Nobody got hurt. Everybody's still good to go. You know what I'm saying? That's a blessing, right? That people are still live, breathing. Like, you might be in a bad situation, but you're still alive. You're still here, ready to go another day. Okay. So, how often do you go to that stripes? >> Oh man, multiple times a day. Sometimes >> you just hang out there. A lot of people hang out there, right? >> I never just went out there. I just I'd go there and, you know, I'd buy a few things. Sometimes they even look out for me. >> They would even look out, give you free stuff. >> So why freak them out, man? Why scare them? >> They had nothing. They had a lot of people know you out there in that area, you know. You know, before I get started, I just want to let you know also I have I have very clear video of everything, but like I said, I'm just giving you the opportunity to talk. I took some stills, some photographs of of the incident that occurred out there from the theft, but I do have clear video, so I'm just I'm just going to show it to you. Okay. Is that this door? Yeah. >> And is that you? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Number one. >> And once I raised the uh I just told him I needed everything. >> And what did you have with you? The knife. Believe it or not, it was a one of those fake Glocks like the BB pistol ones. >> You know the ones that sound metal? >> Yeah. >> No real bullets? >> No. >> Just Was it even loaded with the BBs? >> No. >> I didn't even have an air tank in it. >> No air tank? Nothing? >> No. >> Okay. >> So, you just What? What did you do? You just pointed at them and asked for for like give me everything. >> Yeah. >> How was that? How much money did How much money did they give you? >> 100 something dollars. >> Not much. >> Nobody got hurt, right? >> You didn't you didn't fire off any rounds or anything like that? >> What do you mean fire off a round? >> No. No. Like there was like I'm telling you, you didn't fire rounds. You didn't fire the BB gun. You didn't hurt nobody. >> No. >> Yeah. Just took the money. >> Took off home. >> All right, man. If every criminal was this willing to admit the crimes they've committed, we wouldn't have a channel. However, even with his quick confession, he's doing what criminals love to do and detectives love to pick apart. Lying. Cops have every reason to believe that the firearm in the surveillance footage is real, not fake like Adam has claimed. Because the same caliber weapon was used to take Jade's life. And since that's what they actually have Adam in the interrogation room for, it's time to go get the investigator working on Jade's case. >> I'm going to get another water for myself. We'll be right back. Do you need another water, man? >> No, thank you. >> Are you good on everything? >> All right, we'll be back with you in a little bit. All right, Adam. >> Hey, uh, you forgot your papers. They could stay there. It's fine. You know what? I'll take them. But we're going to be back. So, Quiet. Is there no way I could just go to jail? Give me a little more time. All right. [Music] >> Nothing says desperate and guilty quite like begging police to take their papers out of the room and just take you to jail. When a new detective arrives about 10 minutes later, the real interrogation begins. Oh, you all right, Adam? >> Yeah. >> All right, man. Just you're just chilling. >> Yep. >> All right, man. Do you mind sitting back in the chair? Mhm. >> Thanks, man. >> Hey, Adam. So, I got one more picture to show you if that's all right with you. Uh, but before I do, I know you had mentioned like, you know, you wanted about the attorney and all that. I just want to make sure it's okay for me to show you this picture if you want to see it. No, >> I'm fine. >> You're fine? Okay. You don't need to see it. No. So, the other thing is that I'm going to interject again. >> I want to speak with you. Um, but it's about something totally unrelated to this. Um, and I know he read your rights. You started mentioning an attorney. Um, but I want to speak with you and make sure you're willing to speak with me or wanting to speak with me about something that is unrelated to this. That's a few days after this. >> Oh [ __ ] >> Okay. Here in a second. >> You know what? Um, so it doesn't have anything to do with the robberies. >> What I want to talk to you about is unrelated to this this what he's investigating. I want to speak with you about another investigation. And if you're willing to talk with me, I can explain more. Are you willing to talk with me? >> I just want to go to jail, man. >> Well, you're going to you're going to go to You have the arrest warrant associated with this. Um, I don't have an arrest warrant for you, but I'm wanting to talk to you about another case. >> I'm running about another case. >> It's a murder investigation. Do I have your interest or are you willing to talk to me or not? >> Yeah, man. Like all >> Okay. So, get to get this to get this straight. You want to talk to me about a murder investigation? And I'm wanting to talk to you. Okay. Are you okay? I know this isn't this isn't normal to to have someone come out and tell you that. Okay. But I'm wanting to speak with you and explain to you about a murder. Okay. >> A murder? >> Yes. Are you We've read your rights. Are you willing to talk to me? Listen, listen. I'm going to I'm going to read you your rights, okay? Just a second time. And you can say yes or no, okay? But just listen. Listen to me. Take a deep breath. This has nothing to do what he's talking with you about. I have no interest about. I'm just wanting to talk with you. Okay? But I'm going to read you your rights first. Just hear me out. Okay? >> Okay. Before you ask any questions, my duty as a police officer adviser of rights warning the consequence of waving these rights. You have the right to remain silent. You do not have to make any statement or written in any statement that you make will be used in evidence against you in a court at trial. You have a right to have a lawyer present to advise you before and during any questions by police officers or attorneys representing the state. You may have your own lawyer present or if you're unable to employ a lawyer, the court will appoint a lawyer for a free of charge now or any other time. If you decide to talk with anyone, you can and you can stop talking to them at any time you want. The above rights are continuing rights which can be urged by you at any stage of the proceedings. Do you understand these rights? >> Do you understand these rights? >> I understand both. >> Okay. Okay. Can Can I talk to you about what I want to talk about? Do you understand your rights? >> Is it about icon? >> Who's Icon? I don't know who Icon is. This is the face of someone who realizes he is completely screwed. Perhaps unsurprisingly, he decides that rather than lawing up, it's time to make things worse. >> I was going to show you a photo and go from there and start working, but I I don't I don't want to see my photos. It's not murder photos. I'm just going to show you a picture. Do you recognize this person? >> No. >> You've never seen her? >> No. Have you ever stayed on at her house? No. Never. She stays on like Hollywood with Hollywood. She's not She's not She's not dead. Okay. You never stay to her house. What about this girl? She had some butterflies or something right there. And I just started talking with her. >> Okay. Who Who is that person? >> Uh Jade. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Yeah, I just started talking with her. They're friends, right? They're friends. >> Mhm. >> Yeah, I just started talking. >> Okay. >> But like Jade was always mad cuz I kept on taking off on her and leaving her >> with Okay, this one you're taking off on her. >> Yeah, I just >> How long did you I guess How long did you know her? >> Uh, not long. >> Okay. Did you guys were is it safe to say you guys were like intimate or like >> Yeah. >> Okay. Was she homeless? >> Yeah. >> Where where did you ever So did you stay Did you end up ever staying with her then and her at this house? Never. Have you ever been to this girl's house? [Music] You know what? Yeah. Yeah, I think that's Yeah. >> Okay. And I'm just going to I'm going to show you uh I want to show you like a video from It's from February. >> From February. >> Mhm. I just want you to see this. Okay. So, this this is the last time that this this girl's ever on police body cam. Okay. I just want you to hear some of the things she's saying. Hi. >> This is >> Oh, so whose house is this? >> This is my friend. >> Okay. So, you don't >> you don't like live here full time. You just had to come here because >> this is like like I just got out of here. You can stay here. I said I don't know where I was going to sleep. You're not going to sleep anymore. Like, you're crazy. Like, you're my best friend. You can sleep right here. Even if it's not Florida. >> It feels like your life has been like turned upside down since Friday. >> And my three-year-old son's there. Oh my god. And like so you know it's just like it's a lot like but I do not I this is what I live for and I'm all he has he doesn't have a dad who's incarcerated. Just got locked up. I thought I was going to do time but thank God I didn't. So I'm just thanking God. You know I love life right now and I'm out. You know >> you hear that? She loves life. She's got a kid. Listen listen look at look at me. >> Where's my baby? >> Listen listen to me. There's no babies. Look at me. >> That's the last time this girl is. >> Where's my baby? >> Who? >> A baby. Where is she? >> Jade, >> where is she at? >> Look at me. >> Look at me. >> No. I told you what I'm here for. >> Where is she? >> She's dead. Okay. And I need to know what happened to her. How long ago? >> How long ago? >> Recent. Real recent. My god. >> The footage that police have just shown Adam was taken during a welfare check on Jade shortly before her death. The footage that we just showed you is a great example of terrible, cringe-worthy overacting. Jade did have a three-year-old son whom she loved dearly. Despite her struggles, she was actually planning on going back to college in a few months time in order to give him the upbringing he deserved. >> Look, I can I can tell you aren't a bad guy. I sat in here. You are going through all kinds of [ __ ] that I don't even know. I I've never been in your shoes. Okay. But I need you to talk to me about what you know about her. Whenever I first met her, she said, "Oh man, that that people were always mad at her, saying that she's a setup chick, >> [ __ ] like that." Like that she's a setup chick. >> What's that mean? >> Like a chick that sets people up. >> Like she'll she'll pull like >> No, like licks on people like like rob them. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> And honestly, that's why I was always so quick to be able to leave. >> Mhm. >> I always just left. I was just left, you know, just in case cuz I didn't want to I didn't I didn't want that to happen to me. Like I thought she was cool. I thought she was real cool, you know. >> Mhm. >> So I always just left. I always just left real quick. And like there's messages. >> Mhm. What messages? >> Like she was always mad at me for leaving her. >> So you guys kind of met >> when? February, March. I don't even How did you know how you met her? >> Instagram. She told me she didn't even have a Facebook. >> How did you meet her on the streets? >> Yeah. >> Okay. And then I guess at some point y'all hung out, at least hung out to at that house where she was officers were there talking with her in February because people thought she was suicidal. So that's why I have that that body cam footage of her talking and talking about loving life and wanting to be there for her kids. Do you remember the last time you spoke with her? >> No. >> Did Did when officers arrested you tonight, did you have a phone? >> Today. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. >> How long have you had that phone? >> Um, not long. >> When would you say you? >> A couple days ago. Because like I lost my other one. >> You lost it? What happened to it? >> I don't know. Along with my wallet. >> You lost that in your wallet? >> Yeah. Fortunately for Adam, his phone is no longer missing. Law enforcement actually found it for him prior to his arrest. Unfortunately, they found it at the scene of Jade's murder, which is just one of the many reasons they knew to look in his direction. >> The phone that you have, you know, like so I have like this is an iPhone, right? I like they get a new model, I usually go get another iPhone. The phone that you have, the phone that you lost, is it the same making model? >> Yeah, >> it's the same making model. >> Yeah, >> it's a Nokia. >> Mhm. >> What phone number? I guess if you interacted with her with Jade, what number would you be interacting with? What phone number would would you have? >> I couldn't even remember my phone number that I, you know. Okay. But you got this new phone just a couple days ago. >> Yeah, cuz for for job opportunities to call my mom. My mom was saying it's been over a week since I've called her. Last time I had a phone, I called my mom every day. >> Okay. Where' she stay? >> In Virginia. >> Virginia. Do you have family here? >> You said something about the Ridgewood. That's grandma. I know. I'm hitting you with a lot, man. And and so I want you to just take a second to just try to, you know, process what I'm saying. Um, the last time you said you spoke with her, when did you say it was? >> I don't know, man. >> You don't know? Do you remember the last time you saw her? No, it was like she was supposed to pull up to to uh this one dude's house that we would always chill at and he like my last girlfriend, we would always go there and like chill in the back house. >> Okay. But like what what area are we talking? Uh right there on Beacon Hill. >> Beacon Hill. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> But then I ended up just leaving. Just leaving, you know. >> But But when was the last time you saw her? >> Um [Music] I was seeing her like every day, every other day. >> Where where was she staying if if she wasn't with you? >> I don't know. I'd always just leave her. >> Okay. >> And I'm pretty sure she was staying at her friend's house. >> The the her name's Julia. Is Is that the one you're you're thinking? >> Yeah, I think so. >> I want to show you one more video. >> Well, please. It's not It's I'm not showing you anything gruesome, but I It's a video that I want to show you. Okay. >> Do you remember her? >> No. No. You never seen her. [Music] >> Hello, Alice. This is Jade. I'm truly sorry for what I have done to disrupt the peace in your home. I truly mean that from the bottom of my heart. I'm very sorry. I just want you to know if you give me a second chance, I will never have it again. You have my word. I also have the rent money when it's due. If you allow me a second chance, please, I'm begging you. >> Just listen to what she said. >> Okay, I'll let you. Okay, I'll get my things and move around. I'm very sorry making you feel this way. You You did. I didn't mean to. I just thought since Julia had her BF BFF boyfriend over that I could too. And was her boyfriend cousin and all we did was smoke. But I'm completely understanding that your house, your rules. I am truly sorry for stepping over boundaries. I just wanted to say thank you for taking care of me for the >> So she's texting that lady after she basically got kicked out of the house. Okay. Are you all right? I feel like your mind's racing a mile a minute. All I'm trying to figure out is what happened to Jade. >> I don't know. I'd always leave. >> You'd always leave. >> Yeah. >> When did you see her last? >> Do you know what day it is right now? >> No, >> I don't. >> It's the 12th. So, tomorrow is the 13th. Tomorrow's one week. One week. Look at me. One week since we found Jay. She was killed Thursday, April 6th. >> Adam takes a nice long, not at all suspicious break here to try and figure out what to say. When detectives prompt him, he still hasn't come up with a plan. So instead, he decides to have one of the strangest crash outs we've ever seen. I'm not I We're meeting each other by not by chance. Okay. >> So, she's describing that she kicked Jade out of that house on Hollywood because you were there hanging out with with Jade. Jade said she was sorry. She thought it was okay to have you over because Julia had Matt over. How do you know Matt? >> I don't. >> Just through the streets or does he sell bars? Does he >> No. >> How did you Cuz she said that you you guys like referred to each other as cousins. >> I did it. I did it. >> You did what? Look at me. What did you do? >> I did it. >> What did you do? Look Look at me. This is This is This is it. Talk to me >> with that same gun that you see me in the photo with the robbery. >> Okay. >> That's the gun that killed Jake. I did it. >> Why? Look at me, dude. Can I go to jail now? >> Listen, please. >> Let's keep talking. We need >> Look at me. Jade's Jade's family deserves it. >> No. >> And and you are going to know and you are it's going to eat you alive. You need to talk to me why this happened. You didn't just lose your phone. You know what happened? You left your phone. It dropped. It's at the scene. Why did it happen? Did she try to pull something on you? What happened? You trying to set me up, man. >> You know this. Look at me. You know what happened and you're >> She tried to set me up, man. Because look, >> what did she do? I know that Jade wasn't sane. I know that she was setting people up. What did she do? Adam. Dude, look at me, dude. You've come so far. >> I know, man. >> It's eating you up and it's going to it's going to feel better. Your life is not over. How old are you? >> 23. >> You're 23. Your life you have a life, but you can't live this life holding on to what you know. What What happened out there? I know that she called you. >> Yeah, that he called you. Look, look, look, Matthew and and and and and they they don't have nothing to do with nothing. >> Okay. Okay. I know that I think Jade called you or you called her on Julia's phone. Julia heard you say, "Hey, can Julia take you to this location? Where did she drop her off and where did you guys meet?" [Music] You're all right, man. Do you want some more water? No, I want to go to jail already. Please, I know you want to go to jail, but I'm going to need to talk. I'm done. >> Please, >> I'm going to take a break. I'm going to let you soak this in. Okay. >> Please, Julia and Matt have nothing to do with anything. >> What happened? You You just said the gun used in that robbery >> Yeah. >> was the gun used to kill her. >> Yeah. >> But what happened? What did she do? You have the answer. I wasn't there. >> You know what happened? >> I don't want to talk about nothing. >> I'm tired. >> Nothing like a teenage temper tantrum in the middle of a confession. Julia, Jade's close friend, was driving with Jade prior to her murder. Jade spoke to Adam on speaker using Julia's phone. And when Adam asked Julia to drop Jade off, she obliged. The last time Julia saw her best friend was when she dropped her off with the man that had sworn to love and protect her. >> And and and Juliet, they don't have nothing to do with nothing. They >> Where's the gun? I threw it away. >> Which way? Where did this happen? Where did this happen? >> On Ridgewood. Can you describe the area? >> On Ridgewood. Right on the corner with my godparents house by the creek. >> Do you remember what Jade had with her? Was there a fight? You do know there's so many unanswered questions right now. Her shirt was ripped. Her arms were scratched. But you do know. So she wanted me to go looking for bars. >> Okay. >> And and I was supposed to just take off. I wanted to just take off. >> Yeah. Like what what do you mean like not go or >> just leave? Okay. >> And go looking for them. >> To go look for the bars. >> Yeah. >> Okay. I don't know where the gun is. >> Okay. But >> I think that I was supposed to leave her at that that one house. So it's like that but I left her with the thing. So it's like that if anything should be all right. I don't what that what you just said. It wasn't even a I didn't know what you just said. She She wanted you to go get bars. >> Yeah. >> Did you get them? >> No. >> Did you meet her? >> No. >> At what point did this all happen? >> I don't know. >> Well, how do you know you did it? I mean, >> you're just saying the gun that was in the robbery. I I did it. >> Yeah. >> But you're not telling me anything, man. It's hot moon. Take You want Can you take it off? >> No. If if I can get them to >> Yeah, I'll be all right. >> It'll make you more comfortable. >> Is there like a different shirt I could use? >> I mean, I'm hot, too, but I really want to know, man. I know she spoke with you on the phone and she got dropped off at a location because you named the location. What was the location? Do you want more water? What location did you tell her to meet you at? Okay. Why there? What's there? >> Across the street is this tree guy. >> That park? >> No, the the cross from the park. This tree guy. >> The tree guy. Yeah. >> Okay. >> And then do you remember what time you got there? >> No. >> Was she already there? I think I was there working all day and then she ended up just pulling up. Do you remember the car she was in? >> No. >> No. What did she have with her? >> Like a suitcase. >> Okay. >> Yeah. And a purse. >> Okay. The the house that you're talking about. >> Yeah. If I can pull it up. >> Yeah, there's a couple other houses over there, but I just want to know which one you're kind of which one you're kind of referring to. >> Bars, if you're unaware, are referring to Xanax, a potent and frequently abused anxiety medication. However, there's no evidence that Jade ever asked him to look for them. In fact, it only takes Adam a few seconds to tell a completely different story. >> You told her to meet you in the You remembered she had suitcase. Was she running her mouth? Was she >> She kept on wanting to put me to punch her in the stomach. She >> She said she was, but >> Okay. Did Did you think it was yours? >> Yeah. Like I didn't pull out. >> Okay. So she said, "Punch me in the stomach." >> And I didn't want to. >> Right. All right. Okay. And then what? I just took off. >> That's not what happened. Where did you take off after this? Laundry. Which direction did you go? That's the house. Did you go this way or did you go towards >> you went towards Blanco? But which way did you go on capital? [Music] >> H Which street did you go down? Grammar. You went down Grammar. Do you remember besides her saying, "Hit me in the stomach." What what what got you to the point to pull pull a gun on her, man. She just didn't want to have my baby, man. And it was just like a crime of passion or something. Like she didn't she didn't it was like she wasn't trying to have my baby. >> You wanted to have a kid. >> Yeah. >> You wanted to have >> I don't have any children, man. >> Okay. You wanted to have a kid with her >> and she she just kept on telling me to punch her in the stomach. She just kept on drinking and taking drugs and do you remember how many times you shot? No. >> How do you know? How do you know you killed her? You You know these details. It's not your fault that she didn't want to. You wanted a family. She didn't. But you have to explain what happened. So I was walking past her and I go like this and it just pulls like instantaneously like that >> and then it jams up. I take it out. I put it back in and go like that. And then it shoots again and jams up again in my pocket in the hoodie pocket. And then I I come back and I have to run back cuz I didn't know if she was dead or not. I didn't want her to save me. Okay. Okay. You ran back and and so for sure there's three. Okay. When you said you ran back and you didn't want her to suffer, what did you do? Shot in the head. >> Where in the head? >> Somewhere around right here. >> Is that enough detail? >> So, you're walking past her and the gun goes off? >> Well, you know, I fired her. >> Where did it Do you remember what she did? >> No, I wasn't. >> Did she scream? I don't remember. You said, but you you see what I'm saying? You keep giving details and I appreciate it, but and I'm trying my best. >> Look at me. >> She didn't want to have my kid, man. >> Can you possibly imagine why she didn't want to have his kid? It should be noted that this is Adam's portrayal of events, and to this day, we don't know the full truth. It has never been publicly proven that Jade was pregnant when she was murdered. Do you think she was or was or was the whole thing like, "No, she's not. I'm not." >> I was really hoping she was. >> Okay. So, that's what this argument started from. >> I was really hoping she was. >> She told me she was and that she didn't want to have it. >> She told you she was >> and that she didn't want to have it. That she didn't want to bring another kid into this world. >> Can I ask you where you guys are having this? Are you having the conversation on Capitol at the park? Where are you guys having this conversation? >> She was telling me over the phone for a while, but then like we were talking about it over at Capital. >> Was she talking on the phone on the way out there to you? >> No. >> When was she talking to you on the phone about this? >> Like while we were not together. >> Okay. >> She didn't want to have my baby that I've never had any children. I've been wanting children forever. >> You Okay. And so you guys were at the park. Do you know how long possibly you were at the park, but this combo is going on? And then how does she end up where she ends up? We just leave it at as it is and we just like stop. So I'm me thinking I'm like, man, she's just going to keep drinking. Whatever. You know, I don't have girlfriends that have off of just drinking. >> Okay. Is that enough? >> So you guys leave the park and you start walking away from the park. >> Yeah, we cross the street to the tree guy's house. >> Okay. >> And >> what happened with her sleeve? I don't know. I really don't know what that I guess she fell or something. >> When you did you ever hear her scream or did she ever try to run away? >> No, neither. >> I like it's a note to to either of those. Like, no, I didn't hear her scream. No, I don't think she was talking. And I want to go back to you talking about manipulating the gun because you kind of you remember some of the details when you shot her. Was it legs, torso, the first one? >> What? >> The first time she you shot her, where was she shot? >> Well, like it was in my pocket like this. I was trying to aim up towards like the heart. >> Was she facing you? >> No. Show me where can you show me where she was? >> I don't I don't remember where she was exactly. I just remember like I was going to be walking right past her or something like I don't remember where she was facing. >> Mhm. >> But like I was walking past her and it was just like I tried to aim for up and >> Okay. And then you said something about the gun you had to >> Yeah, because it was in the in the hoodie pocket. >> Okay. You had on a hoodie. >> What else were you wearing? >> I don't remember. But the gun went off once and then did you have did it did it jam? Did it >> So did you have how do you >> [ __ ] you back? >> Okay. And then it function again. >> Mhm. >> Where did Did you shoot a second? You said three. >> Yeah. >> Where was the second one? >> I guess in the same area and then I go back. And >> did she she fall? >> Yeah. >> Was she saying anything? >> No. And then you go back cuz you said she you didn't want her to suffer. >> Yeah. >> And you shot her. >> Yes. >> Where? >> In the head. >> Where? >> Well, like in the face. >> Okay. After that, were you running or walking? >> I don't remember, man. Like I was just Is that enough? I >> mean, you've you've Dude, you've been you've been really honest and I really appreciate it. Like, man, I just shouldn't want to have my baby mad. Has this been eating you up? >> I'm not a bad person, man. I just >> Do you do you feel if you could have taken all this back? >> That shows me you have a you have a heart, man. >> You have a heart. She was supposed to be a kid, man. I don't I don't even like killing women. You know >> the ever important defense when you're caught killing your girlfriend. I don't even like killing women. And you've you've wanted a kid. You've wanted a family. And she was a good girl, but she just didn't want that life. Is that enough, man? Is that enough? >> Did you know you your phone was out there? No, >> I'm I'm almost certain it's your phone. You said you lost your phone a couple days ago. Yeah. like to like out of it. I didn't know. >> I didn't know. >> Did you Did you see Julia drop her off? >> No. >> Okay. But you were you already at the house? Is that why you said that? >> Yes. >> Okay. How long have you known that guy at the house at Capitol? >> Like a year, two years. >> Is that enough? Can I go to jail now, man? Please. You got any questions for me? I really like to know where that gun is. >> I don't know. I throw it away. >> What kind of gun is this? >> Some type Glock. >> Okay. Glock. I mean, I know if you know guns and you know how to manipulate them, you know the caliber. What kind of caliber are we talking? >> Okay. So, she never saw this coming. Is that what you're saying? >> Honestly, I didn't either. It's not like I planned it, >> okay? It was just >> spontaneous >> after that combo at the park. >> It was spontaneous, you know, like I thought, man, I'm there's going to be another chick that's going to kill my seed, you know, like how many times has this happened? You said like where girls have >> numerous >> numerous and and from the info that I've gathered, you guys were tight. you guys were. >> Yeah, she was acting like she didn't want to just >> But she did do she had this like side thing going on where she did set up guys from what I understand. >> That's why like at the same time I was still weary. I thought that's why she didn't want to like have my kid cuz she wanted to set me up. She wanted to, you know. >> Yeah. >> I'm just a No comment. The fact that Adam is homeless and claims this has happened with multiple women numerous times while also admitting that he never uses protection shouldn't be as much of a headscratcher as it seems to be for him. He can't comprehend that someone struggling with substance use wouldn't want to have a baby and live on the streets with him. And that's not even touching on other reasons why someone might not want to raise a child with him. His startling emotional outbursts. If he's like this in an interrogation room with a police officer, it's hard to imagine what he's like in private with the women he dates. Which brings us right back to >> I'm just a That's not a bad man. >> Just a what you just did. That takes that takes a lot of guts. I respect that. I respect you talking to me man to man >> look at me. >> I really do. You know >> I do. >> Her family deserves that if anything. You're right. >> I know she wasn't close >> cuz that was supposed to be my family, too. >> She wasn't close with her dad. Did she ever talk about her dad? >> No. >> She ever talk about her kid? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. That was supposed to be after After After this, after all this happened, what did you ever did you see anything on the news? >> Did you hear anything on the streets? >> How? I I don't have no TV. I don't really in the streets like that. Did you tell anybody that had the just the way you're talking to me? It was eating you up. Did you talk to anybody? Does it feel better? >> No. >> To at least say >> no. >> Get it off your chest? >> No. You've got remorse. Is that remorse? >> I'm just saying no because it won't bring her back. I really wanted to love and care for her, but I didn't want to have a baby with me. I wanted to take care of her, but I as hard as I could and as hard as I tried, I couldn't. And then maybe that's why Do you do you remember how long you guys talked at the park? >> No. >> Do you remember the time you guys met at the park? >> No. >> Like generally? >> I know. >> Can I go now, please? >> I just You said that she had a purse. >> I don't know, man. >> All right. Can I please go now? Let me let me work on like like please >> just hang on. I'm going to go get the the other detective. All right. I'm going to give you my card. Okay. I'm going to give you my card. Just hang on. >> Despite telling law enforcement the details of the crimes, Adam actually pleaded no contest at trial where he showed up looking like he was auditioning for Dumb and Dumber. He was found guilty on two charges of aggravated robbery, one count of possession and one count of first-degree murder. His sentences will all be served concurrently, meaning the longest he will spend in prison is 40 years, and he may be eligible for parole in as few as 20. Jade's family was devastated by this news, telling local TV station KSAT, "40 years may be the punishment that was handed down, but to us, it's a slap in the face. It could never truly reflect the magnitude of our loss." Her son was left without a mother and wants to take flowers to mama every week.
