On August 26th, 2023, an Arkansas State Police Trooper spotted a Toyota 4Runner displaying a fictitious tag and attempted a traffic stop. Instead of pulling over, the driver gambled on outrunning law enforcement, setting off a pursuit that quickly put everyone nearby at risk. >> 30 now coming up getting away. >> Get the [ __ ] out of the car. LET ME SEE YOUR HANDS. >> Don't move. Don't move. GET ON THE [ __ ] GROUND. Get on the [ __ ] ground. Get on the [ __ ] Go ahead and dump something, [ __ ] Quit resisting. What the [ __ ] wrong with you? You're dumb as Get the [ __ ] up. I'm 15. Murphy. Is this the same tag as the one you ran last time? No. Is that car stolen? >> No, it's my wife's tag. It's off our Nissan. I didn't have a driver's license. >> Good. Congratulations on your felony. It's a near minimum. Don't run from the state police, it's a felony. >> Okay. >> You're never going to get away. You ruined your car, you ruined your life. Hope that makes you feel good. You can tell all your friends. Mandatory 10 years Get ready. >> Got away last time. You're not going to do it again. >> The chase ended with 31-year-old Daniel Paul facing arrest after trying to escape on foot, and he was treated by emergency medical personnel for a cut to his chin before being taken away. Investigators discovered he was driving with a tag taken from his wife's Nissan and without a valid driver's license. He also faced felony fleeing charges as officers continued looking into the vehicle and its ownership. Monday, January 23rd, 2023. A driver refused to stop for Arkansas State Police and turned a routine traffic stop into a dangerous pursuit. Even after officers failed to disable the vehicle with spike strips, the suspect remained determined to stay ahead of the patrol cars. >> Open. Open. Open. No. No. No. >> HANDS! >> [screaming] >> HANDS! HANDS! QUICK, QUICK, QUICK. GET OUT! GET OUT, [ __ ] GET OUT! >> SMALL DAMAGE TO MY unit here. Looks like you're going to have to 15 and Amber Alert >> The pursuit came to an end when officers safely took the driver into custody without further resistance after the vehicle was finally stopped. The suspect was transported for booking and faced charges related to felony fleeing along with additional traffic and criminal violations connected to the incident. Friday, January 16th, 2026, a speeding stop in a marked school zone took an unexpected turn after a driver refused to accept a traffic citation. Rather than ending with a signature and a warning about the next steps, the disagreement continued as repeated lawful instructions were ignored. >> Where are you all heading to this afternoon? >> Home. >> Coming from? >> Why? >> Just a question. I'm sorry? >> It's not of your business. >> Okay. >> Yeah. It is. >> Okay. Do you have your insurance? >> I'm showing you mine. >> All right. Give me just a second. All right. Here's your copy of the citation. As far as the bill is, you don't want to take it? Well, you're still going to take it cuz it's your citation. That's your citation. That's littering. Step out of the car. >> No, don't touch >> Yes, ma'am. Yes, ma'am. Step out. >> I'm not stepping >> Step out. >> Mom, she's 6'9" and 63. >> Yes. >> Step out. Step out. Step out. Step out. >> Don't touch me. >> Step it out. >> I'm not stepping out of [ __ ] Call your >> Step out. I am the supervisor. Yes, I am. I am the corporal. Step out. Step out. Step out. Because You are resisting. Sir, I'm sorry. Stop. Stop. Because I gave you the ticket. Then you proceeded to throw it out. I put it in your car. And you proceeded to throw it out of the car. I am the supervisor on duty. He is not. I am the highest ranking supervisor. I don't have anyone else. >> There is someone else. >> Not right now. You need to step out of the car. Stop. Stop. Get out. Get the hell Get out. STOP. GET OUT. STOP. GET OUT. ROLL OVER. Roll over. Roll over. Roll over. Roll over. Lower your left. Pull your hand out. All you had to do is take the ticket and leave. She's in custody. >> The encounter concluded with Tenisha Thompson being taken into custody while her teenage son witnessed the arrest from inside the vehicle. She was later booked on charges including resisting arrest while the incident triggered an internal review, public controversy, and an ongoing legal dispute over the officer's actions. On November 12th, 2022, an Arkansas State Police Trooper attempted to stop a gray Chevrolet Cobalt because of expired temporary tags. Instead of explaining the situation on the roadside, the occupants chose to keep driving while tossing suspicious items from the vehicle along the interstate. >> Car four we're coming up to the one right now. Slammed his brakes on. Hey, he just threw something out in between 108 and 107. Taking the 108. Taking the 108. Coming up to highway 9. Still not stopping. Heading south on 9. Looks like we're going to be pulling into through something outside of the liquor store, Big Daddy's Liquor. GET OUT OF THE CAR! GET OUT OF THE CAR! [screaming] DRIVER, GET OUT OF THE CAR! GET OUT [screaming] OF THE CAR! TURN AROUND, FACE AWAY FROM ME. Don't talk. Step back towards me. Step back towards me. Watch passenger. Step back towards me. On your knees. On your knees. Front seat passenger, get out of the car. Get out of the car. I'm not asking, I'm telling. Do not turn around this way. You will face away from me. Do you understand? You walk backwards towards me. Keep walking. Keep walking. Keep walking. Keep walking. Keep walking. Keep walking. On your knees. Hands on your head. Handcuffs. Step over here. I'll get them. Back passenger, hands up. Why didn't y'all stop? >> They said they wanted to take me to the hospital. >> Huh? >> Keep your hands up. >> Yeah. Why didn't y'all stop? >> I worried about that. >> Huh? >> He said he wanted to take me to the >> What did y'all throw out of the car? >> Nothing, sir. >> [ __ ] >> I I don't know. I was laying there. >> What did y'all throw out? >> Nothing, sir. >> Last time I asked. I want to walk back there and find what you threw out. The comments can come out. Anybody else in the car? >> No, it's just >> Search her. Step out here. >> You treated them totally different than you treated me, man. >> I didn't treat them any different. >> Yeah, you putting them on on their knees. I'm talking about a dead man right here. I don't know. >> Why did you guys stop the car? >> I didn't throw nothing out. >> Why didn't you stop? >> I didn't know he got a congested heart failure. >> You think it would have been a good idea to stop? >> Yeah, I know. >> So >> I ain't sir, I ain't trying to do that. That's what That's mainly what I was telling He told me he going to die. I don't I don't Okay, I don't know what >> This You should have stopped. >> This what I told him. He told me he fixing to die. But he do got a congested congested heart uh heart >> The investigation continued after officers recovered evidence linked to the pursuit while one passenger was transported to a hospital for medical care. The driver was jailed on charges including felony fleeing and possession of drug paraphernalia, and investigators also connected the discarded evidence to suspected methamphetamine activity involving multiple occupants. On March 22nd, 2023, Arkansas State Police attempted to stop a pickup truck that immediately accelerated away instead of complying with officers. The driver repeatedly pushed the limits on wet roads while weaving through traffic, turning the pursuit into an increasingly dangerous situation. >> 10-4. >> Hey grandma, this is one smokey day. >> Break down. Break down. Break down. Get break board. Get the break board. Hold the break. >> These still mobile. >> These still mobile. >> 10-4. >> I thought that takes some feeling. >> Hey, did you hear anything speak at all? >> Hit me head on. >> No, I'm flying through this intersection. >> [laughter] >> I thought that takes some feeling. Hit me head on. >> No, I'm flying through this intersection. >> The procedure we're running here for the procedure activation of the safety unit. >> You didn't hear anything at all? >> Give me your location and your mile marker. >> I'm on 30. I'm on 30. We have four hours standing on the north side 24 straight. 24 driving here. All the 14 for K9. No reinforcements for K9. >> See that this comment has >> 68 Alpha V and already clear. >> Your journey is short. >> Yeah, I know. >> Can you find out where he comes from? >> 94202, can we see if we can get assistance for it? >> Yeah. >> 419 female match. >> Right now, we can get this thing earlier. You want to do that? >> Well, I when I hit him and pushed him up against the wall and I thought, "Oh, we got him." And he just kept going. But, >> Continue to 10-11. >> I think I don't know that I can get out of here. I think we're all stuck. So, >> You can you get out and I'll Let me try it and see. >> Christopher McFee, Rebecca McDonald, and Brandy Jacko were all taken into custody after the pursuit and subsequent foot chase with McFee and Jacko receiving medical treatment before being transported. Investigators recovered stolen firearms, suspected methamphetamine drug paraphernalia, and ammunition from the stolen vehicle. The investigation also uncovered a multi-state theft operation involving stolen vehicles, tools, trailers, and additional weapons. While McFee and McDonald both faced charges connected to being convicted felons in possession of firearms along with numerous theft-related offenses. Monday, January 9th, 2023, an Arkansas State Police Trooper encountered a Chevrolet Impala driver whose bizarre behavior immediately raised concerns about possible impairment. Instead of stopping when given the chance, the driver continued making unpredictable decisions that kept officers closely monitoring the situation. >> Show me your hands. Get down on the ground. >> On the ground. On the ground, man. >> Got it? >> Hang on. Hang on. >> I got it. I got it. You got it? >> Oh, for real. I'm good. >> I got the car. >> I'm trying to show you. Okay. >> [snorts] >> That's why I can't point it in there. >> I don't know. >> Can we get it? >> Yeah. >> What the hell? >> 33 stop 50 to the junior. >> Hey, watch out. >> 32 15. >> Appreciate it, guys. >> Anytime, man. >> The pursuit ended with the suspect being taken into custody without further incident after officers safely brought the vehicle to a stop. He was transported to the Pulaski County Jail where he was booked to face charges related to felony fleeing along with additional offenses connected to the investigation. Wednesday, October 4th, 2023 officers in Las Cruces, New Mexico responded after a child protective services worker requested help with an 18-year-old woman who refused to leave her vehicle. What began as an effort to find her a safe place to stay quickly became a tense standoff as repeated requests were rejected. >> Can you unlock the door? >> Oh, yeah. She'll unlock it. What happened? >> Yeah, they said >> What's up? >> What's going on? >> Nothing. >> Nothing at all? >> you later. >> All right. You don't need to talk to me, but you do need to get out of the car. All right. She needs to take off. >> Okay. >> All right. >> Later. Get away from me. Now. >> Get out of the car. >> Can you get >> Yeah, I'll move out the way. Well, you're going to get out the car. She has to go do stuff. >> I unders- >> Okay, cool. >> Goodbye. >> Go ahead and unbuckle and get out. >> Goodbye. >> Just unbuckle and get out, ma'am. It's on Tanya right now. You're getting out of that vehicle one way or another. >> I'll get out of the vehicle when I'm ready to get out of the vehicle. >> No, you're going to get out now. >> Alicia, tell him that >> She's the one that contacted me. So, she needs my help. So, Daisy, you're going to unbuckle and get out. >> I'm buckled. Now, leave the [ __ ] OUT OF MY FACE. >> Get out. >> No, I need you to get the [ __ ] away from me. >> I did. I stepped back enough. >> No, you did not. >> Yes, I did. There's no need for you to raise your voice. >> You don't need to talk. You just need to get out of the car. >> Don't talk to me ever again. >> to get out of the car. >> I'll get out of the car when I talk to my case worker and you're gone. >> That's not going to happen cuz she called for my assistance. >> Then I'll call for another officer's assistance because I'm done with this officer. >> You can call them you want. You want me to call you one? I'll get you one right here. Right here. >> Alicia. I've already been out of the car 4 5 6 7 8 9 times. >> But you're not staying in the car and you don't get that. >> No, I'm waiting for you to leave me alone. >> I'll tell you when my partner gets here. I'm going to give you that option. I'm going to walk over here, get what stuff you need to >> care what you need to walk over AND DO. WALK OVER AND [ __ ] do so. >> Okay. I'm going to walk away for now, but when I come back When I When I COME BACK >> DON'T STEP TO ME, [ __ ] GET THE [ __ ] AWAY. >> DON'T [ __ ] hit me in MY FACE. I'M GOING TO TELL YOU RIGHT NOW. Prosecutors later dismissed that case before filing a separate restraint-related charge, and a warrant was eventually issued after she failed to appear in court. Friday, March 31st, 2023, Little Rock police requested assistance after a U-Haul truck driver refused to stop and continued fleeing through city streets. Arkansas State Police joined the response as officers worked together to bring the dangerous situation under control before anyone nearby was put at greater risk. >> All right, you need to turn your lights off. Investigators continued processing the scene while the suspects were escorted away to face charges connected to the pursuit and the events that led officers to stop the vehicle. Monday, February 2nd, 2026 officers in Colorado Springs noticed a masked man behaving suspiciously near a location known for previous criminal activity. When they attempted to contact 35-year-old Michael Foster a short time later, he immediately ran instead of complying with lawful commands. >> Get on the ground right now. Police, GET ON THE GROUND RIGHT NOW. GET ON THE GROUND RIGHT NOW. GET ON THE GROUND. >> DUDE, THERE'S ANY SHOTS FIRED? >> SHOTS FIRED. >> I'M SHOT. I'M SHOT. I'M SHOT. >> DUDE, THERE'S ANY SHOTS FIRED? >> SHOTS FIRED. >> YOU CAN'T MOVE AGAIN. I'M GOING TO SHOOT YOU. >> I'm shot. >> Give me cover to 20 uh 2600. Bro, GET ON THE GROUND. >> I'M SHOT. I'M SHOT. I'M SHOT. >> Get on the ground. >> Shots fired. Shots fired. >> Michael Foster was taken into custody and transported to a hospital with serious injuries while officers recovered a loaded stolen handgun from the scene. He now faces charges including attempted murder of a peace officer, first-degree assault on a peace officer, resisting arrest and possession of a weapon by a previous offender. Officer Dan Morck was treated for a serious injury and later released from the hospital. On January 10th, 2019, Los Angeles police began pursuing a stolen plumbing van after the driver refused to stop and sped away through the San Fernando Valley. The suspect ignored countless opportunities to surrender, choosing instead to continue driving recklessly toward the heart of Hollywood. Of >> Uh from their dispatch center and they probably already have units on the way over here, but as you can see, LAPD again the lead agency in this pursuit, again doing speeds close to 90 mph right now. At one point southbound on the 405 was doing about 100. So, doing very excessive speeds. Unclear how many people may be inside this van. Uh obviously we've got a driver in there, but uh whether there's anybody else in there, we have no clue at this point. >> And well, you look at the speeds, this thing is not meant to do that. Here's the video on the right. This happened just a little uh just before we came on the air. He ran off the road. You see him hitting that one sign, then he hits the traffic light, knocks that over, takes that out, and then proceeds up and over the curb and then off back onto the street again. This was in Van Nuys just about I don't know, about 30 seconds before we came on the air. Then he got on the freeway there and and may have sustained some damage to the van, but you you've you've got to be uh mindful of the fact these things are not meant to go 100 miles an hour. It does not have the sort of suspension that can sustain any sort of >> Hollywood. We're going to see a little bit more traffic up ahead here, but still lots of room to have for him to maneuver here. And CHP is just about a minute out here a minute out here, so they will be eventually taking this pursuit over pretty shortly. >> Yeah, I believe there's a CHP headquarters right around uh Vermont Avenue and the 101 if I if memory serves, so he's heading right into their area where there's going to be a lot of reinforcements available for them, but certainly they're out on the roads anyway here. Uh but yes, as we watch this thing uh he it wobbles quite a bit. It's top-heavy. You know, we used to our old our former news vans, not the ones we have now, but the ones that we used to have were were similar to this. Uh and I remember how top-heavy they are. And you get that thing above 70 miles an hour and it's a little scary because uh it doesn't have real good uh steering in it. It's just not meant to do this. It's meant to carry stuff. And oh, we got trouble. >> Here we go, guys. Okay, hitting several vehicles. He's getting off at Hollywood Boulevard here. We're in the heart of Hollywood. >> Wow. >> right into an SUV there. Lots of damage to the several vehicles there and now making his way in the eastbound direction on Hollywood. So, obviously a very desperate individual behind the wheel, really ramping things up here in the last few seconds, showing no signs for anybody There's no no regard for anybody's safety here and very desperate to outrun the cops. Now, they are right behind him. They're going to try and keep up with him here, but at these speeds moving through Hollywood, it's going to be a very dangerous situation. They may have to put this in tracking mode, but they can't let him get go too far because you see the damage he's already done there. We hope that nobody was hurt. Oh my goodness, another pedestrian almost taking a hit there. Fortunately, it looks like he just missed a pedestrian crossing the street, but we saw several vehicles already hit by this vehicle and heavy damage. Again, hopefully no injuries back at the Hollywood exit. That was the 101 at Hollywood Boulevard. Now, we're continuing eastbound through Los Feliz on Hollywood Boulevard. LAPD still overhead here. I cannot tell you quite how far back they could see. Every time he turns that wheel, he was losing control. And as he was making his way along the Walk of Fame here. Looks like he's going to come out the other end here. This is going to be Looks like he's back onto Sunset Boulevard now. Westbound on Sunset Boulevard, swerving through traffic. And I've got to tell you, I'm a bit almost another crash there. Again, right through these red lights. I I'm a little bit surprised, but very happy to see LAPD trying their very, very best to stay as closely behind him as possible. It's very difficult with these kinds of driving conditions. Fortunately, if there's any silver lining here, this time of the day would be the least populated time of the day in Hollywood. But certainly, you could see even at 11:00 on a Wednesday night, lots of traffic over here. And plenty of pedestrians still walking around, as you mentioned, Mark. Ever so dangerous as we make our way Hits the curb there. >> Yep. And he's going to hit the curb again. He's in the median. Losing control the vehicle. This is going to be it here. If he continues to accelerate, he's going to lose control the vehicle into some more parked cars here. This person may very well be under the influence of something. I would not be surprised at all. Here comes the passenger side door. Yeah, passenger side door has just popped open. A passenger now making a run for it. I believe the driver is still going to be in the driver's side in the driver's seat. We still have to assume that the driver's in the driver's seat. LAPD is going to take down the passenger here. And now we'll go ahead and pan back over to the van. This is the the van that has been trying to outrun police now for the better part of 20 minutes. And I can't say whether that was the driver that crawled over to the passenger side or whether the driver is still in the driver's seat. That's my inclination, but as you can see, the pursuit ending here into a several parked vehicles after doing some damage to the vehicle to He jumped on the curb, then onto the median, lost control as he accelerated Uh uh through Highland Avenue here. And um man, oh man, this could have ended so much worse. Certainly lots of damage that we've witnessed here. No major injuries that we've observed. Fortunately, this pursuit now coming to an end. But what a wild one and what a precarious circumstances we uh crisscrossed the streets of Hollywood. Fortunately, this has come to a peaceful end. Hopefully, they can extract the driver very peacefully as well. And this will be all over. But right now, officers with their guns drawn have no idea how many people are still inside that vehicle. Could very well be more than one person. So, we've got to wait and see here and they will uh proceed with caution. The fact that they started with that back door, unless they know that there's somebody back there, that's an indication to me that they are about to give the code four here. And that may have very well been the only individual inside this van. But man, what a wild pursuit. Yeah, you can see here they've given the code four. Everybody walking back to their patrol cars. But it just became a very busy night here for the Hollywood division as they now have to attend to several different accident scenes all over as we made our way off of the 101 freeway. That's where the damage really began. And uh several other collisions uh between here and there. And who this is that the driver? That's the driver. So, that's this is the driver we're looking at here. And uh >> Looks like an older man. >> Yeah. >> Looks like an older older man. Uh that's the best we can tell from this from from this vantage point. But uh he is now up against the patrol car. >> The pursuit came to an end after the damaged van could no longer continue allowing officers to safely take the driver into custody while securing the surrounding area. Investigators then began examining several crash scenes linked to the pursuit as authorities continued their investigation into the stolen vehicle and the assault related allegations connected to the suspect. Late one afternoon, an officer stopped a vehicle because its registration tags had expired and learned the driver was already dealing with a suspended license. Everything appeared to be headed toward a routine citation until the passenger suddenly made a decision that caught everyone off guard. >> How y'all doing? >> Good. How are you? >> I'm good. You got your driver's license with you? >> I have my ID. I do not have my driver's license. >> Okay. Reason I stopped you is the tags are expired on the car. >> Yes, sir. I know. I do have insurance >> Okay. Who's that with? >> It's my through Progressive. >> Okay, Progressive. Hey, Mr. Roberts. >> Yes, sir. >> Come back here with me for a second. >> All right. >> And Ms. Curtis, thank you for telling me who you are this time. Last time you didn't. >> Oh, that was you? >> me. Uh this is a citation for driving on a suspended license, okay? >> um and I'm paying on that last one. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Just sit tight right here. Why is he running? He doesn't even have a warrant. Hey, Curtis. Hey, what's his name again? >> Roberts. >> Roberts, you're good, bud. No warrant, Roberts. Oh, jeez. Clark, so I've got one running on foot. >> I'm not going nowhere. >> Dude, you just messed up, dude. >> I'm sorry. >> You just messed up. You know what I was going to do? >> Uh >> Look at me. >> I am, sir. >> No, I want you to look at me. You know what I was going to do? I was going to have you drive her car. Cuz you got a valid license, bro. >> No, I don't. >> Yes, you do. Are you not David Roberts? >> Yes, I am, but I ain't got a driver's license. >> Yeah, you do. >> Man, come >> Don't move for me. >> Come on. Dude. >> Dude, all I was going to have you do >> Okay, I'm sorry. >> was drive her car. Now you going to jail for fleeing. >> Please, man, come on. >> Don't you please me, bro. Drop it. Bet that's meth, ain't it? >> Yes, sir. >> How stupid, dude? How stupid? Dude, I was going to let you drive the car. Why would you do that? Because you have a warrant out of Russellville? >> Yeah. >> Did you hear me hollering at you when you were running around the building? >> Yes, sir, I did. >> I said, "Roberts, stop. I'm not taking you in for your warrant." You kept running like 2 miles an hour. I could have just walked and caught you. >> That was stupid. >> It was stupid. >> man. >> It was stupid. You have a valid license. You were about to drive that car away. >> see how I have a valid driver's license. >> I don't see how you do, either. You got two warrants, but you're valid. So, I was going to have you drive the car. I'm serious. >> I'm sorry. I am. I just >> Now you're going to jail, and I'm I would I didn't even check on your Pope County warrant. You're in extradition on that? I didn't even check on it. You know why? Cuz I get off at 4:00. I want to go home. >> Will you please let me >> No, I please won't. Today's my Friday. I'm off work tomorrow. I get off in 30 minutes. I was trying to go to the house, all right? >> I know. >> I was writing her ticket, going to let you drive the car so I could go home. How ridiculous. >> I know, and I'm sorry. >> Gosh dang. All the damn paperwork I got to do now. >> No, you could have done do these cuffs, and I'll walk. I promise I won't do anything.
