Officers then sorted through the aftermath while trying to determine who else may have been involved in the dangerous street racing incident and possible fleeing charges. June 5th, 2024 started with a Cadillac SUV flying down Interstate 40 at 86 mph in a 65 mph zone before a routine stop instantly unraveled. The driver, later identified as Nicholas Papachristou of Jonesboro, Arkansas, claimed he was rushing home because his mother was babysitting his son. Seconds later, he slammed the SUV into gear and took off. >> Hey, I'm Trooper Tye with Arkansas State Police. On August 26th, 2024, Little Rock police asked Arkansas State Police for help tracking down a black Chevy Camaro tearing through residential streets at dangerous speeds. Behind the wheel was Clifford Sigler who blasted through traffic and nearly clipped another driver while trying to escape the growing line of patrol units behind him. >> There's count from Gardner from 91. >> Got a red Kia at some locations. >> How many of them involved? >> I'm behind the wrong way at the ramp. >> Can you get up there to take a picture of this thing? >> KBI KBI >> This is 4 KBI 86. >> I'm there with her. >> 10-4. >> 33 >> You got it? >> Ziegler eventually tried running on foot after the Camaro crashed into a tree line, but officers caught him near railroad tracks and brought him back into custody without further trouble. Monday, February 3rd, 2025 looked like an ordinary speeding stop until an orange and black Dodge Charger pulled over on Interstate 40 and the driver suddenly decided cooperation was optional. Troopers quickly noticed the strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the car. Moments later, Brandon Williams restarted the Charger and bolted down the interstate at more than 140 mph. >> Now, I'm looking for my registration. >> Yeah. Uh go ahead and turn your car off for me. On May 3rd, 2023, a blue Ford Mustang blasted down Interstate 430 at more than 100 miles per hour before darting off the highway and into an apartment complex with its lights blacked out. The driver, identified as Jaylen Harris, abandoned the Mustang and sprinted toward an apartment building while officers chased him up the stairs. >> STOP! STOP! THANK YOU. Authorities cited him for felony fleeing, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license, and speeding more than 15 mph over the limit. September 7th, 2023 turned chaotic when North Little Rock police sped past two Arkansas State Troopers while already locked in an active high-speed pursuit. Troopers Shumate and Byrd immediately jumped into the chase as the fleeing driver tore across interstates and city streets at triple-digit speeds. >> Man, I got a 4 little rock 10-37. Once the suspect was secured, troopers cleared the scene and sorted out the investigation tied to the reckless driving and felony fleeing allegations surrounding the pursuit. On May 3rd, 2023, Trooper A. Escamilla noticed a black motorcycle flying down Interstate 40 without a license plate while weaving faster than surrounding traffic. The rider, later identified as Chad Guess, ignored the traffic stop and ripped through construction zones and highways at speeds reaching 115 mph. >> Just passed up Spring Hill. Speed's normal. He faced charges including felony fleeing, obstruction of governmental operations, and multiple traffic violations connected to the pursuit. During Operation Safe Streets on May 13th, 2023, Arkansas State Police locked onto another reckless driver cutting through Little Rock streets while officers from multiple agencies flooded the area. The operation had already targeted illegal street racing and dangerous driving, so troopers wasted no time joining the pursuit. >> Watch out. Watch out. Watch out. >> Still northbound. We're going across the uh Arch Street Bridge. >> I'm going to find a gas station. >> Vehicle is staying with it. We're going to see. >> All right here just on the other side of the bridge. Police then continued processing arrests tied to the operation which included excessive speeding violations, illegal firearms, and narcotics investigations across the weekend crackdown. November 22nd, 2022 became a disaster for 19-year-old Tyrese Lancaster after a speeding stop on Interstate 530 turned into a 140 mph sprint through traffic. Troopers watched the Camaro weave across lanes and blast down exit ramps while more units joined the pursuit. >> Break out. Break out. Break out. >> Hey, hey. Put them on Damn. He later faced charges including reckless driving, fleeing in a vehicle, possession or purchase of alcohol by a minor, and failing to wear a seatbelt. During Operation Safe Streets on May 16th, 2023, a Dodge Charger suspect decided running through neighborhoods and backyards was somehow a better option than stopping for police. Officers quickly spread through the residential area as the suspects bailed out and disappeared between houses and fences. >> Hands! I'M GOING TO SHOOT YOU! HANDS! ALL RIGHT, GO AROUND THAT WAY. HEY, stay with the car. Stay with the car. Where did he run to? Where did he run? >> He's in the backyard. >> Stop. Investigators then worked through the arrests connected to the pursuit and broader Operation Safe Streets enforcement efforts targeting reckless driving and criminal activity across Little Rock. May 14th, 2023 brought another chaotic pursuit during Operation Safe Streets after Arkansas State Police spotted a speeding driver racing through city streets at nearly 80 miles per hour. The suspect ignored emergency lights and forced troopers into a dangerous chase through traffic before officers finally moved in to stop the vehicle. >> It's flying unit. That's 37 miles an hour. The suspect was then taken into custody while investigators handled the reckless driving and fleeing allegations connected to the pursuit. On October 27th, 2022, Green County deputies were already searching for a red Ford Mustang connected to an earlier incident when Arkansas State Police spotted it flying down Highway 34 with no rear running lights. The young driver pushed the stolen Mustang past 120 miles per hour across highways and gravel roads while trying to disappear into rural Arkansas. >> [music] >> Red Mustang 34 You're talking. 16 units inbound. 620 I can't talk right now too curly. 10-1 I see 48 units on the map which way you going? 840 46 Yeah, 308 going northbound. April 16th, 2024 began with North Little Rock Police chasing a red Dodge Ram tied to theft of property allegations while Arkansas State Police prepared ahead on Highway 67. Trooper M. Officers later recovered suspected narcotics linked to the driver, while another motorist involved in the incident was taken to the hospital with reported head, neck, and back pain. Operation Safe Streets on May 14th, 2023, turned tense when an SUV suspect barreled through city streets at extreme speeds before losing control near a wooded area. Investigators then continued to handling the reckless driving and fleeing investigation tied to the dangerous pursuit through Little Rock streets. May 14th, 2023 added another wild chapter to Operation Safe Streets after officers chased an allegedly intoxicated driver through Little Rock in a dangerous high-speed pursuit. During Operation Safe Streets on May 14th, 2023, Arkansas State Police spotted a motorcycle rider without tags who immediately decided to flee instead of stop. The rider blasted through roads before taking a wrong turn and crashing into a closed gate, turning the pursuit into a foot chase seconds later. >> 10-11. >> Suspect 10-0 on 237, Sanctuary of Praise Church. He was later checked by medical personnel and faced felony drug and fleeing allegations as troopers gathered evidence tied to the pursuit. Tuesday, December 24th, 2024 began with an Arkansas State Trooper stopping a Honda Pilot for driving 98 mph on Interstate 40 while the driver insisted he was a traveler and not legally subject to traffic laws. The man later identified as a 33-year-old from Hampton, Virginia, gave false information during the stop before suddenly speeding away into the night. >> Do you have any registration or or insurance card? >> What's your um What's your last name?
