hi I'm detective ell hi I'm detective Brink we're with the Mesa Community Action team with school being back in session now we want to make sure that kids are not only safe in our schools but also safe getting to and from school come with us as we go over the rules of the road involving school buses and we crack down on some violators a lot of times when the bus splashing lights come on people start to speed up to get around the bus uh but that's when you should be preparing to slow down because kids are present and the bus is preparing to stop it's required that when they come on you stop behind the bus obviously there's kids coming from either side of the road overtaking and passing a school bus is a $250 civil penalty I'm going to issue a citation okay for failing to stop for the bus stop sign and the light and just remember you're required to stay stopped until the bus resumes motion or the stop sign and flashing lights are no longer [Music] displayed and remember not all of our Patrol vehicles are marked so if you decide to go around the bus be prepared to be stopped [Music]
