I'm going to be honest. I've been in and out of system all my I just got out 2 years ago. >> Cuz I don't know. I feel bad for y'all, but at this point it's not it's not in my hand. I can I can just do what I'm told to do. While most of us follow the rules, some shoplifterss believe they have the right to take what belongs to others without paying. But that confidence quickly falls apart when they face the law, the only right that truly applies to them. Here are the times when shoplifterss think they're entitled to steal. If you enjoy seeing how police handle difficult situations in [music] the real world, be sure to like this video and subscribe to This is Law. Starting with two grown women who tried to portray themselves as victims through arrogant outrage. >> They ask for an ID. What the asking for an ID for? >> So we can take your name, >> man. Help. Oh my god, it's a lame mess. So Harry Potter ass Harry Potter looking ass. >> On the 10th of September 2024, officers [snorts] responded to a Walmart after receiving a report about two young women suspected of shoplifting. What appeared to be a routine investigation quickly proved otherwise as store employees immediately warned the officers about the pair's confrontational attitude upon their arrival. two young ladies who said it was racial profiling. Um, they definitely stole, we have their cart in the office. The stuff they sold, we're not sure exactly how much they stole yet. It's at least over 20 um over 25. And they keep they won't give us their IDs. They won't do anything cuz they say they didn't. Yeah. >> So, just >> now they're trying to get a refund. >> You just trying to trespass them? >> Trying to get in the office so we can see what they stole. You guys come with us. >> I'm going to get my money back. We >> need you to come with us. >> I'm getting my money back, baby. >> Neither of the two women had any intention of cooperating. Just as the store employees had warned, their arrogant attitude quickly turned what should have been a routine shoplifting investigation into [music] a tense and chaotic confrontation. >> She's not doing that. I'm a female. you over here. Put >> your hands behind your back. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Don't do that. >> I am on the head. >> You don't care. >> They don't get no spot. >> He don't care. This is my first >> What did you do? >> They just slammed her, bro. >> I'm burning. >> Nothing. Nothing. >> Tell them. >> [ __ ] in my purse. So what? >> I have no cash on my phone. >> You need to stop this. >> Like this is crazy. Absolutely. >> This is crazy. Keep them crying and let cuz they will hurt you. They don't care about you. Now with these these are children >> literally. Literally [ __ ] crazy. >> Get their phones off. I'm going to What's your name? I'm writing down cuz you the way you that little girl. That little girl could have You could have hurt that child. >> She could also just complain. >> You could have hurt that child. >> She wasn't doing nothing but standing there. You didn't even say to her. >> Know her. I want to know. >> You grabbed her. It's all my body. >> What is your name? What's your name? >> I already told you it's officer Stone. No, I'm going to I'm going to >> Well, you stop. >> The two women were even defended by a bystander who didn't know the full story, but they were adults who knew exactly what they were doing. That misplaced support only fueled their arrogance, which continued inside the loss prevention office. >> We even checked the we get your ID. That's how >> we don't got no [ __ ] ID. And can I have my phone back? >> I need my phone. I need my phone. >> Baby, sit down. >> I'm not sitting nowhere. I'm leaving my [ __ ] >> Y'all just making this work. >> Can you guys >> Oh my god. And y'all bring this in here. Great. >> If you guys would have been compliant from the start, none of this y'all anyway every aisle we got here. Been sitting in this room. We just stopped somebody. We just stopped. >> Mommy was You was looking dead at me. Mostly at my girl. For what? He was in here 5 minutes before we left everybody else. We just stopped them. They got in and out. They was If y'all was listening, y'all could have been >> stupid. How you wasn't even looking at our receipt to ask all of the stuff. >> Yes, you did. >> It's not [ __ ] in my ass. >> I don't give a [ __ ] >> Y'all need to put her ass in cuffs. Look at her in my face like a [ __ ] A [ __ ] got cuffs on. >> I got two. >> You're not touching. >> Yeah, I got two to 10. You can let me out. >> I ain't I ain't touching [ __ ] She in my face. >> She's not going to touch. >> She in my face. >> She was in my face. >> You in here screaming. You think she just going to sit there? >> No. >> I need those receipts. >> No. >> The woman in the black shirt acted as if she was cooperating, but she wasn't. In fact, she repeatedly twisted the standard procedures of the investigation to accuse the officers of wrongdoing instead. >> ARE YOU TRYING TO ESCALATE? >> WATCH IT. HOW HE ABOUT BROKE her wrist. >> He ain't about break. Nobody, >> man. He like, >> stop. This could be a simple freaking trespass. They would have looked at the receipt, sir. They was asking for an idea. >> You would have just came back here and been like, "Yeah, this is my I paid for it." Would have been in the story, RIGHT? BUT INSTEAD, YOU WOULD ACT UP no and act all silly. asking for an ID, bro. They didn't ask for the receipt for it. They ask for an ID. What the asking for an ID for? >> So we can take your name, >> man. Hell no. My name is my That's what I know. I don't got ID. I don't got no license either. >> How you get it, >> my girl? >> Does she have a license? >> Probably. So she balanced. She balanced. All right. >> Why didn't you give us that? >> Okay. So what you ask her? We did ask her. We both said no. I forgot mine. >> How do you spell it now? >> Mine. >> You want to go to jail >> for what? I didn't do anything. >> Let's see. Obstruction resisting. Failure to resist. Identification. >> Tell you about slam me and hit my head on that hard ass flow out there. Come on, man. I didn't even do [ __ ] but say I'm trying to get my money back. >> I told I gave you a law to get my money back. >> I gave you a lawful man. >> You disobeyed that law. >> SILLY CHECK IN HER POCKETS. HE ALREADY WENT IN HER POCKETS, JOE. >> HEY, LISTEN. >> OH. YEAH. >> OH, GOD. Your lame ass. Your Harry Potter ass. Harry Potter looking ass. [ __ ] >> Nick red as hell. >> I don't give. >> Bye. I'll see you later. >> She had effectively succeeded in using her outburst to delay the investigation. By that point, however, Walmart's loss prevention staff had already confirmed that the shoplifting had occurred. >> Sign up for me. Sorry about all that. Thank you for coming. Once you figure out >> she did buy stuff. So I don't know if we can go ahead and get her a refund like 20 minutes but um I don't know how you want to go about this bread. It's nice and they can seal it any of it. >> Okay. We literally had someone 5 minutes before that and we got him in and out. >> Well, that's what I told them, too. And they kept arguing. >> I've never been called a Harry Potter looking ass. So, you know, that's pretty cool. >> She's talking about I'm going to see you outside. We weren't the same sister. You trust someone with her. You didn't ask. >> What's your email? >> It probably easier if you give me yours and I email you my statement cuz my email's really long. >> Is it just Yeah. Which card did you use to put a I put all the uh the refund on that card? >> My wallet. >> How do you want me to reach for it? And I >> I was just going to have you explain it to me. Is it in this? >> Yeah. >> Cash. I'll just get your cash back. Both women were charged with retail theft, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest, and were trespassed from Walmart. Being loud, argumentative, or refusing to cooperate may slow an investigation, but it never changes the facts. [music] Once evidence has been gathered and the offense is confirmed, every [music] attempt to shift blame or create chaos only adds to the legal consequences, turning a minor theft into a far more serious situation. Next, the 20-year-old woman found herself unable to face the responsibility for what she had done. >> What? What actually happened? >> No. Can I call my dad? >> You can't call your dad right now. >> Can I hit my >> On the 25th of April, 2026, officers were dispatched to a Target after receiving a report of a shoplifting incident. The suspect was believed to be one of a group of young women who had concealed merchandise. Here's what happened next. >> Hello. >> You're with her? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Am I let in or not? >> Not in the LP office. If y'all just wanted to continue to hang out out here. Okay. >> Okay. Thank you. >> I'm not with them. I just know her. >> Yeah. Welcome back. >> It's all a party for you. >> Thank you. Officer Ryland will be here to conduct the the full investigation. >> Investigation. >> Did they talk to you at all about what's going on? So, it's just it's about that. Did y'all talk to me while we were talking >> about the stuff that you >> Well, yeah. No, no, I have that. Yeah, that's what we're talking about. >> Okay. >> Yeah, it's about that. So, I was just wondering if y'all wanted to pursue. >> Yeah, we have to. >> Her friend who's out there is the one that ripped this tag, but in the video she's very aware that she just skip. She skip these concealed, but these were in her purse. >> So, I can show you in the video. >> Yeah. Did you want to do anything about the torn tag of the other person or? >> Um, I can have them trespass, but we can't on our end do anything that way. >> I can get a trespass. >> Yeah. >> Meanwhile, another woman outside was also identified as having ripped a price tag off an item. Although the store chose not to pursue charges against her for that act, it was still wrongdoing. Yet, when an officer questioned her about it, she acted as if it were nothing serious. I'm just waiting for the other officer. Um I was told um Target doesn't want to do anything, but they said that you ripped the tag on your pants. >> Yeah, I was waiting. >> Okay. Um so they don't want to pursue anything with you, but they do want you trespass from the property. They typically do it just for a year and it's only going to be for this location. Okay. >> Um do you have an ID on you? >> I do. >> Did you all drive here together? >> Yeah, that's She gave me her car keys, but I don't want to like leave her here. >> Okay. Yeah. Yeah. My my coworker's going to be talking with them. It's just I came here to help and he got caught in traffic or something, so I'm just helping out. >> Okay. >> So, obviously, you don't have to leave right now, but once you leave to not come back to the store. Okay. >> Thank you. >> You're welcome. Here's my coworker, >> but I'm allowed to. >> Yeah. No, I'm more than welcome to. >> Okay. Back inside the loss prevention office, the store made its decision regarding the primary suspect whose actions were considered the most serious among her group of friends. >> These two were concealed into her purse. This one, the friend that's out there, rips the tag, but they're standing right next to each other and she puts it into the bag. That skip >> for the friend. They don't want charges. Just signal 86 already told her. >> Okay. All right. Who's going to call him about a second? All right. I am a assets protection specialist with Target. Soldier just came in today and went shopping around within clothing. Made a couple selections. Um, one article of clothing. There was a tag that was ripped off and skip scanned at the register. The other two items were jewelry that they went shopping for on our sales floor, selected it, and immediately concealed the entire package into their personal purse. Um, and then I stopped the subject and they complied and came to the office. >> Okay. Want to pursue charges? It was clear she had nothing to say in her defense against the allegations. At that point, the officer decided to place her in handcuffs. >> How old are you? >> Uh 20. >> You're 20. Okay. Um you're going to be placed on arrest. Okay. >> When >> you're going to be placed on arrest for >> Sorry, I'm being arrested. >> Okay. I know it's it's going to be a lot going on. Okay. >> Do I get my phone? >> Yeah. Your phone's going to go with you if you use it in your purse. Yes. >> Okay, that'll go with you. We're just locking it right now so it doesn't tighten up on you. Okay. >> Okay. >> I wanted to go ahead and sit back down. >> Yes. >> Would you like that to go with you? >> Um >> or do you want it to go with your friend? >> I think I'll let that go with my friend. Okay. >> Yeah. What about this? >> Um put in the bag. All right. Follow us. >> Thank you. >> You're welcome. I hope you can get your card to get her present. Becca, go to my car. Drive it home, please. >> Like, where's she going? >> To the St. John's County Jail. >> So, will she be there like all day? >> Yeah, at this point. Yeah, cuz it's Saturday and court's not in session right now. There might be a judge on call tomorrow or otherwise it might be Monday morning. >> Okay. >> Yes. >> All right. >> The young woman appeared fairly calm as she was escorted away, but in reality she was only trying to hold herself together. Under the weight of her own actions, the forced smiles quickly faded and she finally broke down in tears. >> You ever been before? >> No. >> If it's not obvious, you got to lose my [ __ ] either. Never even been in a cop car. >> Okay. >> She's going to search you real quick. Search in the car. >> Hey, I'm just going to go ahead and search you. It's just part of our policy. If you could place the Google. >> I just don't want you I don't want you trying to know. Okay. >> It's It's I've never been arrested or like I've only been pulled over like once in my life. Yeah. Well, it'll it'll be a crazy story you'll be able to tell, but and something that I hope that you learn from in the future. >> Absolutely. Absolutely. >> They're getting pulled back into them again. >> Um, those going to be safe. >> Yes, they're going to go in your purse. >> Okay. >> Yeah. If you don't mind just continuing to face the vehicle. I'm going to give these to Officer Ryland so that they can go in your purse for you. Okay. >> Do you have anything um on you that's going to poke at me? Stick me. >> I I have a belly piercing. you belly piercing. Okay, I'll I'll leave that in for the jail to take out. Okay, I'm not going to take out. >> We're going to jail right now. Okay, Brley, are you wearing shorts? Yeah. Okay. >> The officer tried to reassure her so she could calm down, making it easier to question her. But for the 20-year-old woman, she once again couldn't bring herself to take responsibility for her own mistakes. Emotionally, she broke down once again. >> Having these rights in mind, do you wish to talk to me about what happened today? Yes. Okay. What What actually happened? >> I don't I want to talk to my dad. >> Can I call my dad? >> You can't call your dad right now. >> Okay. Can I hit my vape? >> Yeah. Right now. >> I don't even know what to do right now. I don't I've never done this. A >> I just really want to talk to my dad. >> Okay. I can't allow you to talk to your father right now. Go. Okay. >> Do you want to explain what happened or No. >> No, I don't. >> No. Okay. All right. Just do me a favor. Sit back and that way. No. Stay right there. Just stay right there. Just look that way is what I'm asking. She probably 10 15 minutes. 10 15 minutes. >> There's >> Is this purely nicotine right here? >> Yeah. Went out. >> Or is this THC? >> I don't know what that is. >> What do you mean? >> It's not mine. >> That's THC. She said it's not hers. those cuz the vape is pink. >> Yeah, but this came out of your purse. I'm just trying to figure out if you can go in the jail or not. Is this THC? >> I think so. Yes. >> Okay. What about this one? >> Yes, I think so. >> They're both CHC. >> Yes. >> Do you have a medical marijuana card? >> You can throw them away. They're not my They're my friends. They're not mine. >> In the end, she was charged with secondderee misdemeanor petty [music] theft. Everyone is capable of making a bad decision, but character is measured by what happens afterward. Accepting responsibility can be difficult. Yet, refusing to do so only turns one mistake into a much greater consequence. Next, the woman shamelessly continued denying what she had done. >> I would not have stopped you if I didn't know 110%. Like, oh man, >> if you would have cooperated, you would have come in here. I would have got your name and you would have left. >> On the 3rd of May, 2024, officers approached a woman shortly after she walked out of a Walmart. There would have been nothing unusual about the encounter if she hadn't been suspected of shoplifting. But the moment she faced the officers, she immediately accused the loss prevention employee, seemingly trying to get ahead of the investigation by shaping the narrative in her favor. >> Hi, man. What's your name? >> Talia Brown. I'm pissed. >> What's going on? >> She had broke my nail, bro. First of all, second of all, >> let's stand under here cuz this second of all, she don't she sit here and grabbing on my curse, snatching my purse and tell me no. Tell me that I'm She got my whole purse. Anyway, she snatching on my arm, snatched my arms, broke my damn nails, everything. >> She said I was stealing that. I I didn't pay for this. >> I had this I had got a tote. I had got a tote. So, I tote bag like a like a a storage tote. I put those in. So, I had stuck I forgot I had put the the candles and stuff in there, my mirror in there before I had went into the dressing room cuz I was I didn't want to get I wanted to break when I was I had so much clothes in there and I had my um thing in there. I really have forgot about I've been here since 10:00 this morning. Like I don't remember. >> We made contact with female. >> Um what's your name again? Sorry. >> Tia. >> Talia. >> So you had you had like a tote in your >> a tote put my clothes in. I had put the mirror and the candles inside of it, you know, to keep from me getting all the clothes out trying clothes. >> And she said she haven't watched me since the morning. I've been since the morning. These folks watch me the whole damn time without them. >> Is that the receipt for all the items? >> Yes. You want to find more $38. >> All right. Hold on, Candace. My bad. >> Let me put this right here. What gave her back? >> Well, right now I need to detain what right my bag. >> Well, right now I need to detain you. >> What? [music] Where? My bad for >> because of the shoplifting. So, turn around. >> I'm saying what did I steal? >> Well, turn around for me. We're going to get that settled. But right now, I'm going to detain you. >> Stuff in your purse? >> Huh? >> You get stuff in your purse, you pay for it. I've been there, but those are not I've not grabbed those. I do not >> Oh, when did you steal them? >> I never stole them. Sorry. >> Why you sell the tags on them? >> Because I just got I just got them. >> Shortly afterward, the woman was escorted to the loss prevention office where her bag had already been brought there. The loss prevention employee identified clear discrepancies between the merchandise in her possession and the items listed on her receipt. That's my whole >> So, none of this is paid for. >> None of that. >> None of this. Here, go ahead. Crazy. You're crazy. I have a receipt, ma'am. >> Okay. Well, we're looking at your receipt. >> I have a whole receipt. >> So, where's the where's the white bin that you scanned? Or >> that is the bin that I scan. >> What about the shoes? >> I did scan my shoes. >> Okay. How much are they? >> $34. >> Okay. Why' you scan them as a $7 pair? >> Where's the tax? >> This is a ma'am. The first come on now. Stop. There's another receipt that she said she had, but I guess the guy she was with >> has the other one. >> It's not funny, BRO. CUZ WHY WOULD YOU do that, bro? >> I have this on camera, honey. >> I told you none of that was for >> you in court. >> So, do you want to prosecute? >> Okay, >> you can go ahead and bar her right now. >> So, you're barred for 2 years. This whole >> What did I pay for? What? I didn't pay. >> You guys were watching me. >> You're watching me, but you did you not see where he paid for the stuff? I put my cash in there and he >> understand, but none of that that I had. >> She continued denying any wrongdoing. But by then, none of her claims were backed by any evidence. With the facts laid out, the store decided to move forward with prosecution. >> So, you're going to be barred for 2 years. That is this whole parking lot. Rainbow wings, party, nothing on this park. You cannot come back for 2 years. Period. Why my bag? >> Huh? Why you Because no, >> can I check the history on this brown, please? >> It's not crazy. You're still >> No, I did not steal the >> I would not have stopped you if I didn't know 110%. >> Like, come on, man. >> If you would have cooperated, you would have come in here. I would have got your name and you would have left. >> No, ma'am. >> Exactly. >> No, ma'am. [clears throat] Did you come around with a $7? Come on, bro. Oh, this [ __ ] >> Do you have um a list of all the things she taken? >> That's what they're getting now. >> Okay, thank you. >> [ __ ] >> And I don't have any of her information to write down yet. >> All right. >> In addition, officers determined that this was not her first shoplifting offense, something she later admitted during questioning. Mhm. >> Have you ever been arrested for shoplifting before? >> Yeah. >> How many times? >> Okay. >> Just once. >> What? >> Uh check your criminal history. There's more than three convictions of shoplifting. It's felony. What it took? >> You don't have more than three time $500. And it's just been kind of little stuff all >> throughout the whole time >> throughout the whole thing. >> When the last time last time I they wrote me a citation and I didn't go to jail and um they they'll figure out >> just the other lady's just getting all the items she took and then got one. >> So I'm just Yeah. I was going for I need >> I really forgot it was in my >> So you put all this stuff in the tote bag? >> Yeah. Yeah. I thought I was going home when I had went into the dressing room. I had so many clothes to dry on. So I wanted to work inside. So mirrors, a vanity mirror [snorts] and light bulbs, LED light bulbs. store employees determined that the unpaid merchandise was worth about $219. Even then, she showed no embarrassment, even asking the officers if she could finish her open drink. Do you have anything on you that's going to stick with me? Hopefully you car. >> What stuff? >> What? Hold >> on. Hold on. Walk back with me. >> He's putting all the stuff. Um Chartine, the stuff she did pay for uh is with Is it right there on the side? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Thank you. All right. Let's go. You live in Athens. >> From where? Okay. I got to check it before you get in the car. What kind of bra do you have on? >> What? Wire bra. Okay. I just got to check. I got to move your hat. Make sure you got nothing in there. Okay. Going to check your hair. Separate your feet just a little for me. I'm just going to check before you get into this. >> In the end, the woman was charged with shoplifting. Trying to act like the victim doesn't erase the choices that led to the crime. When people refuse to take responsibility for their actions, they often make a bad situation even worse. [music] Next, this couple believed they were entitled to be treated with respect even after committing their crimes. >> Yeah, you you have Hold on. You have every right to put your gun out, but the only time you pull a gun out. >> On the 11th of August, 2023, officers were dispatched to a local convenience store after reports that two repeat shoplifterss who had already been trespassed had returned to the property and were causing another disturbance. As officers rushed to the scene, it was clear the confrontation was still unfolding. Holster your weapon. >> I'm a federal agent. I'm a federal agent with HS. Here's my song. >> I walked up here to get a drink. >> Woman had this weapon. This guy's >> That's what I saw. Okay, there you go. Okay, got you. All right, man. I couldn't make couldn't make any such women conversation. >> Don't come disrespectful to me. You won't give ass people. >> And what >> what's going on, guys? >> Let me tell you cuz I came here. I came here to get my my lighters and my my gas and she she real she tried me over and she didn't charge me for nothing and we came back to see if we can get the money back and she started help this guy right here close the door this guy again like she's like he's a customer he has it back it's not his business to be let people in it's it's our business to get our money back >> you guys were here earlier right >> yes we're here earlier to come to get our money back >> the reason I come off like this >> Mhm. M is because when you're going to come at me rude, then you're going to get the other hand. If you're going to come off rude and disrespectful, then what are you going to expect that other person to be poly and nice? No, you're going to come off road. You're going to get it back. >> What was the other hand? >> And the other hand was we came in here earlier. He had money in his car. >> Let's come out here. Okay. sorted out. >> To avoid disrupting other customers entering and leaving the store, the officers moved the pair to another location to hear their side of the story. The woman immediately claimed that they were the real victims. She overcharged him $6 for the lighters. The lighters are only $1.70. So he went and he said, "Okay, well, let me go get my girlfriend." I came in here and I started being real nice to you guys charge him for a lighter. and then he wanted the red and gas. She says there was no trans transactions or funds on his car. I'm like, "Okay, well then how did he get the lighter?" If there was no funds on his car, how did he get the lighter? She came off disrespectful. So, I'm going to be honest. I went ballistic up in here. And I told him, "Oh, okay. So, you guys are going to stand here and say you had no funds on this car, but yet you guys go ahead and give them a lighter." I said, "Okay." So, you know what? I went ballistic and I left. And then when I checked his card to see if they even took his money, they took his money. They overcharged him $6. And on his bank statement, it showed that they never did the transaction the right way. >> So they came over here and I was going to open the door just to come in here and say, "You know what? We would like the money back." Because you guys did it wrong. You guys overcharged him for $6 that the was not even $6 or $1.70. That's what I was going to do. But then they started going ballistic started being rude. So then here comes my crazy ass. >> According to the initial report, the store accused the woman of threatening people with a stick. Moments later, her own account confirmed that allegation when she admitted she had brought the stick to intimidate them. Oh, >> this little rude ass over there opens the door. put a gun at me. Yeah, you you have Hold on. You have every right to put your gun out, but the only time you pull a gun out is if that person's really charging at you with a weapon. Now, if the person's not coming at you with a weapon, you have no right to put your gun out and start shooting. Until a person comes at you with a weapon and goes after you with a knife, a stick, or any kind of weapon you have, you have every right to shoot. >> And what were you going to do? >> Do not come at me. >> What were you going to do with that stick? >> I didn't do anything. I didn't even hurt nobody. >> What were you going to do with the stick? >> I was going to do anything. I was going to be honest. That's what I was going to do. But I wasn't going to hit my Where did you get that from? Huh? >> Where did you worry about it? No. That's my stick. >> That's your stick. >> I came off of a little kennel that I was trying to build. That's where it came from. But honestly, they would sit with scar. But at the end of the day, when you're going to come at me and put your gun at me, you don't do that until I actually charge with my weapon. Then you come with your gun. Now, I know the system. And I'm going to be honest, I've been in and out of system all my time. I just got out two years ago and I've been doing a hell of a lot good. But now it's to the point where people are going to come off disrespectful. >> You're going to get a whole another hand. But he had no right to put his gun at me. Until I went after him with a weapon, then yeah, you have every right. The minute he put his gun, he asked me to put my weapon down and get down. And that's a federal agent to see. Okay. >> To continue the investigation, the officers decided to detain the pair. However, their refusal to cooperate quickly caused the situation to escalate. >> Because we're going to get into more into the investigation, but I'm going to detain you for an hour. >> No, you're not going to detain me. >> Put your hands behind you. >> You're not going to detain me. >> Yes, I am. You're not underrest. You're not under arrest. >> I have my right. >> You're not under arrest. You're going to be >> Well, you're detaining me. You're detaining me. That's what's going to happen. >> Okay. >> You're detaining me. It's what you're doing. You have no right arrest. RELAX. >> You guys are in the wrong. You guys are in the wrong. You'll be fine. >> No, I'm not going nowhere. She's my partner. Her tape for No, SHE'S MY PARTNER. SHE'S IN TAPE FOR NO REASON. NO, I'M NOT GOING NOWHERE. NO SWING. LET ME GET the [ __ ] crazy. >> You're not going to swing AT ANYBODY. GET BACK. >> NO. GET BACK. GET BACK. BACK UP NOW. BACK UP. YOU DID THAT FOR BACK. >> Stand over here right now. >> Stand over here. Stay right there. Sit down. Sit up. I have MY RIGHT. I KNOW MY RIGHTS. I don't have to sit down. >> Put the taser down. Put your camera on, too. >> It is on. >> I don't see it on. >> It is on. >> Why they have no right to detain me? >> At first, the officers only detained the woman to continue their investigation. However, her own actions led to an additional resisting charge. Unaware of that, she continued accusing the officers of violating her rights. >> I know my rights. >> Okay. >> You officers are living. You officers are living hell. You guys likes to arrest PEOPLE FOR NO REASON. NO PIECES. YOU GUYS GOT the pieces. >> Okay. >> No, you guys got the pieces. Until I actually harm somebody, then you guys have a right. But you guys were in the wrong. >> Okay. >> You guys can't sit here and say I'm going to have to detain you. Why? I did nothing wrong. >> So we can further investigate. Okay. >> No, you guys don't need investigate. You guys already investigated. >> Okay. Yeah, you were. >> That's all you guys. THE OLD WEB because it was in the wrong. >> So, we investigate it further. >> Where are you going, hun? Where are they taking you? >> The property. >> Where are they taking you, hun? >> They're telling him to chill out. >> Don't leave. >> Okay. >> You guys have no right to do this [ __ ] >> Let us put it together. >> No, because you guys have no >> You guys have no right. >> You're not going to cooperate. >> No, I'm not. Because you guys went wrong. You guys are >> You guys are in the wrong is what it is. >> You're in the wrong for not letting us. >> You guys are You guys are in the wrong. >> While the woman kept clinging to her rights in an attempt to prove she had been detained without justification, the store employees gave their statements, revealing the full extent of her misconduct. >> What happened is um the lady pulled up out there, the lady and the man pulled up out there and then um I was in I was doing stuff here and Courtney said, "She's back." I said, "Back?" I called 911. So then you could see her in the back of the truck looking for something, pulling stuff out and looking for something. And then so I was talking to 911 and then um he got out and he locked the door and they're like, "Who's walking over here?" >> Who locked the door? >> The gentleman, the guy that was >> locked the door to the vehicle >> to the vehicle. Yeah. Locked the door to the vehicle and then they walked over here and she had a stick and I told the little lady that she had a stick. So then she comes in and tries to get in. So we had a customer here. He held this door and Courtney and Chenise held that door so she couldn't come in. Well, she's taking the stick and beating it on the window and trying to break the window to come in and saying that she was calling them names and you know, stuff like that and saying that they stole her money and everything else and she was going to get them. Um, and then that gentleman got out of the truck with a gun and he said he was a police officer. Get down on the ground. Get down on the ground. And he I I saw the gun when he walked up and I was like, there's a guy out there with a gun. So she after a few probably 15 20 seconds she finally got down on the ground. Then he got down on the ground and then then you came. >> Okay. They never entered the store. >> We we wouldn't let them enter because they were going to kill these two. >> So they only they only got to the >> in the foyer. >> The foyer there. >> Yeah. They got inside the foyer there and um they were holding this door and that door. A customer was and was not letting them in the store because we knew exactly what was going to happen if they let them in the store. So, she was holding um they were holding the door to not let her in this store. And that's when she was taking the stick, which it was a plastic stick, but trying to break the window and everything. >> Okay. >> All right. >> And I called my boss and told him, and he said, "You can have whatever you want, and he appreciates you so much." >> Meanwhile, the man became increasingly agitated by everything that had happened. Concerned that he might do something reckless, the officers tried to calm him down before leaving the scene. Well, then you guys want me to die then? >> No, we we don't want you to die, man. We don't want you to get in trouble, okay? So, just relax, okay? >> No, it's not going to be a Iraq slate today for me because I'm not my partner. >> You are up, man. You don't you don't you don't have the law. You don't have the people who love me. >> That name and date of birth that you gave me is not coming back to anything. >> Yes, it is. >> Well, we tried running it right now and it didn't. That's what I'm saying. >> That's my date of birth. >> Okay. I'm just saying. Do you go by like how do you This is a different way of spelling Daniela. >> It's We'll try it again. >> Um we're going to we're going to take you to the station and we're going to have ambulance people check you out cuz you have some bad some some stuff right here. Your knees are >> Where is my boyfriend? >> He took off. >> You guys didn't even talk to him. >> He took off. He wanted to leave. >> No. Bull. mess up. >> The woman was charged with disorderly conduct and multiple counts of battery on a law enforcement officer. Some people believe that arguing with officers can erase what they did moments earlier. But once witnesses, evidence, and their own actions tell the real story, false accusations only leave them facing even more serious consequences. Next, the man appeared to be under the delusion that he was a CIA agent. >> I'm not resisting, so don't put my hands behind my back. >> I told you I'm an official CIA CE. Okay. >> On the 24th of April, 2026, officers responded to a Wawa after receiving a report of a man who allegedly attempted to conceal merchandise but failed. When they approached him, everything the man said and did immediately turned the encounter into something strangely unusual. >> You all right? >> Huh? We were getting complaints that you were in the store and acting weird. >> Turn your body cam on and we'll tell you what's going on. >> My body cam. I turn it off. You said >> my body cam's on right now. It's all your video recording. >> The employees just got some complaints about you. That's why we're here. They want you off the property. So >> that means that's the owners all driving around the property. The owners is all around the property. >> Do you have anywhere else to go? sitting in my business. >> What about Pac? >> I get that. They just don't want you >> stupid. I told you I'm selling gas to my family. >> The Wall employees don't want you here. They want you off the property. >> Wall force. >> Well, this isn't lining. >> What was that? Vincent, >> I'm not understanding, man. >> Not understanding. Listen, at the end of end of the day, Wawa doesn't want you here. They want you off the property. You can just go somewhere else. Go to Paco. Go to a different Waw Wa. He stared blankly into space, ignored the officer's commands, and then walked back into the store wearing the same vacant expression, leaving officers to question whether he was experiencing a mental health crisis. >> You want to go to a hospital or something? >> No. >> I'm not having a mental state problem. It seems like >> Oh, listen, man. You don't work here. If you're not buying anything, you got to go. The employees are the ones that told us they don't want you here. Making sure employees are safe. >> You got to go or you're going to be under arrest for trustworthy. Not playing this game. >> My name. >> You can't be here. >> I told you my name is Benjamin Singleton. >> I told you you can't be here. >> General of CIS. >> I'm not going to play the game. >> I'm saying you can put your hands on me. >> I'm not trying to do that. All you have to do is walk out the door >> and not be around. I don't want you to be here. >> Why are you causing bigger issues than the last time? >> When I did this, >> what? >> I trying to say what >> I'm trying to tell you. If you don't if you don't leave, you're going to be arrested with suspects for you. You walk out the door with all that. I told you I'm there for the official business. And I told you all that >> because the man refused to leave after the trespass order had taken effect. Officers placed him in handcuffs shortly afterward. >> Come on, buddy. You don't know that. >> I'm not resisting. So, don't put my hands behind my back. Yep. >> I told you I'm an official CIA CE. >> You're under arrest for trespassing. Stand up. >> Come on, B. >> Stand up. >> See, get on the ground. >> Get on the ground. >> Get on the ground. >> Get on the ground. You get the other one. >> Two together, buddy. >> Yep. You made it this way. All you had to do was walk out. >> Got it. Yeah. Let's go. Ke double locked. >> Oh, they do. Okay, >> got you. >> Is yours double locked? >> No. You want to get that real quick? One of them. You don't have to take none of my >> He was then escorted outside to be searched. As the search continued, the man's delusions became even more apparent. He repeatedly claimed to be a CIA official, making the officer's search far more difficult than it needed to be. >> Blue gloves, my recipe, my ingredients, like Dr. Cooper, my lady, no more Jefferson, my la creo. I thought I understand creo. >> I don't. What you do? Obviously, >> the PCP. >> Is that what you talk? >> See them choking me, right? >> Everything's being recorded. Benjamin, >> your body cam's not on. >> See that red light? That means it's on. >> I ain't trying to get my hair. >> Stop being difficult. >> A piece of my hair. >> I'm trying to get your zipper, brother. >> I told you I'm a official CIA DEA business. >> I'm sure you are. like the men in black. >> Okay. >> Jungle animals go WILD POLICE. >> There go my official bag right there. So all that evidence y'all took. >> Uhhuh. >> Y know where to place it. Right in that CIA bag. >> DA bag. >> All right. >> Holding on my chain. Trying to take off my watch. Noa, y'all better say >> Ben. Just let me take the jacket off, brother. >> You trying to take my shame? >> I'm trying to take your jacket off. >> And now they trying to see my skin. One with the black gloves ripping up already the evidence. My initials is BS and I'm not. >> It was clear that none of the man's claims fooled anyone. Even as he shouted them at the top of his lungs for everyone nearby to hear, he only made his apparent mental instability even more obvious. Ninja Turtle. Oh yeah. So what? All of that better come with me in them bags wherever I'm going in the back seat with me. Or >> that's right. >> Yeah, that's my pen that I'm going to write everything up with. Y'all think I'm stupid. Y'all think I'm slow, right? Y'all already know that I'm not dumb. Far from stupid. Far from slow. All my assassin tools better be in my bag in the back seat with me. I am a official DEA general. >> Oh, wait. There's more. Can you check out the front pocket? >> All my change. How many pants you got on? It's warm out. >> You cannot grab my dick. No, >> I don't want to grab your dick. Trust me, >> dude. Just slide me on. Y'all trying to take my hair again. Now y'all trying to steal the heat. Cool. Steal the heat then. Whatever hospital y'all take me to and whatever dimension, whatever black hole. >> Yeah, someone apparently went to a lottery. >> In the end, the man was disorderly conduct, trespassing, resisting arrest, and obstructing justice. Delusions don't excuse refusing lawful orders. Once someone ignores repeated trespass warnings and resists officers, the situation quickly shifts from a simple removal to multiple criminal charges. Next, these women showed no signs of shame, even while facing multiple criminal charges. Huh? >> Oh, that's great. >> And where are y'all taking her? What about her? >> Okay, but she's good. Other than no warrants, we we Gucci. >> Which one had the one? >> She's not being >> On the 30th of May 2024, police responded to a call from an Ulta store reporting that three women had stolen merchandise valued at approximately $2,000. By the time officers arrived, the suspects had already fled the scene, prompting police to begin gathering information from witnesses who had been at the scene. And what did the third girl do? >> Um, she was kind of just walking. The other two ran and then she picked it up once she hit the parking lot. >> Okay. They picked her up then in the car. >> Yeah. Back there. >> Back there. >> The bag might have been messed up in the bag. >> So good. Um, >> he like whatever. >> Did you see him take it? And the three I saw the three of them before I was trying to find parking. I backed this. So three of them ran out with fast. All three of them. >> But by the time they >> we'll see if they want to report now or they're going to probably give us a report later on. >> So I told him we have to make a report to give you guys. So I told him right away cuz usually I make the report so when you come it's ready for you guys. So I l He said he was going to tell you guys to hold off until the report was here. Well, kind of doesn't work like that. >> Okay. >> If it's an in progress call >> and we're coming to it, we're coming to it. I mean, we can't just, you know, >> Oh, that's fine. >> You know what I mean? And then just, you know, turn around and [music] >> go away cuz what happens if we were to caught them out in the parking lot or out on the roadway or they got pulled over, you know, in the ne [music] next district because they had >> three different districts on this call. So, um yeah, >> we're here now. So, >> I can show you the video. We can look at it together. At that point, the store's loss prevention team provided surveillance footage, giving officers clear images and identifying characteristics of the suspects. >> So, it was three females. >> Three females this time. >> Okay. >> Um, Africanamean, one's on the heavier set side, had like red hair. >> 205, you said? >> Yeah, 205. She's walking out right now. This a better view for you. They brush. >> The view that they walked in, that's one of them. >> Mhm. So, >> what did I get? They just the baskets and walked right out, huh? >> Now, yeah. And three. She's just shopping hoping. So, we're probably looking at 2,000 or more. And this one, I'm pretty sure she changed her hair, but she was here 4 days ago. >> I got the license, but or somewhat of a license from some members. >> Oh, someone gave it to you. >> What is the color? What is >> it? Was like a goldish. We thought it was silver, but when you drive off and you hit it, it's like that silverish gold color. >> Silver gold color. >> Did it have a paint? >> No, it's like um You ever seen like metallic? Yeah, like that like like you ever see those Camry the Toyota Camry that has that it's not a brown champagne color. >> That's champ. Thank you. Champagne is the word I'm looking for. >> I can't put that in your mouth. You're telling me the color >> champagne. It's like a champagne color. >> So the total value you're saying to me >> officially over $2,000. >> Of course alone I got 180. On June 18th, police conducted a traffic stop after discovering that the [music] vehicle's temporary tag did not return to any valid registration. Coincidentally, the occupants turned out to be the same suspects connected to the earlier shoplifting case. >> Hello, agent. I'm China Sheriff's Office where I pulled you over cuz your tag doesn't come back to anything. Do you have a license registration insurance? The titles got the title. What's your What's your name? >> Rihanna, you step out of the car for me. Put the car in park. Right back. What happened? >> Our headlight was out. >> They took your car cuz your headlight was out. >> Yes, that's it. They didn't They pulled us from the front. >> Okay. >> You guys smoked in the car before you got in? >> The suspects believed they had been pulled over only because of the invalid temporary tag, unaware that deputies had already connected them to the earlier theft. One of the women even attempted to conceal her identity by providing officers with false personal information. >> What's your first name? K A I T L Y N. >> Last name >> Brown. >> And your middle initial? >> J. >> Who else is in the car with you? >> No. >> Who else is in the car with you? >> My friends. >> What's their names? >> You don't know your friend's names? >> Huh? >> You know your friends names? >> Um, we getting them from them right now, sir. >> I know, but I'm asking. >> Um, I don't I really don't know how that goes. So, I don't know if I supposed to tell them tell you their names. I'm not trying to be like rude or anything. >> Yeah, >> I'm pretty sure. >> What was the reason I got pulled? >> That tag is fake. I'm sure you know. >> I don't. I just asked for paper tag and they gave it to me. >> Who? >> The person who I got it from. >> Okay. So, this tag, this car had a different paper tag on it the other day. >> Yes, it was like it was expired. >> Yeah. So, >> oh my is hot out here. Like, why am I the only one that's sitting out the car? >> Do me a favor. Sit back down. >> I'm going to make you sit back down if you want to sit back down. >> It's like that for real? >> Yes, it's like that for real. That's sad. >> Y'all already exit for y'all. >> Both women were handcuffed as soon as they were removed from the vehicle. If you found that a bit unusual, deputies explained the reason to the women shortly afterward. You guys um want to speak to a detective and the reason why you guys are in handcuffs? Do you guys know the reason why you're in handcuffs? >> Not. >> Not at Single Guest? >> No. >> You guys do anything recently at the mall. >> Take any take any merchandise? >> We don't go to the mall. >> Got you all on video and everything. That's why you guys are in handcuffs. So, detective wants to know if you want to >> speak your words or no. >> Where the detective at? >> What mall? >> Yeah. What mall? >> Wellington. WELLINGTON GREEN MALL. >> HELL NO. NO, I want to see the video. No, we don't go to Wellington. >> We got pictures of you guys there. >> Okay. No. Yeah, I want to see I don't go to the mall. >> Ulta. >> No. >> You said what? >> Ulta. >> I don't even know that. I don't know what that is. >> Hell no, bro. >> Yeah. Can you get my money for me? >> You want to bring $50? >> Yes. >> They're going to take >> They're going to take it. >> They're going to take half of that, bro. The woman in black was believed to have no involvement in the crime and was only accompanying the two suspects. What happened did not seem to embarrass her at all. She even helped her friend fix her appearance before being taken to jail. >> Get my lashes, GIRL. The suspects were charged with grand theft, operating a vehicle with a fictitious tag, providing false information to law enforcement, and violation of probation. Your choices can turn one mistake into multiple charges. Remaining silent is a right, but providing false information to officers can create a new criminal offense and make an already serious situation worse. Next, this woman escalated the situation even further. >> Not today. >> I only got a pack of that because they stole them from me. >> On the 17th of December 2025, police were dispatched to a store after receiving a report that a woman had stolen multiple packs of cigarettes. She was also believed to have left the scene with a man in a white van. Here's what happened next. >> So, what happened? >> Okay, I have it on the camera back here if you want to come back. And she asked for a case of Swisser sweets, which I said I only had a 15 pack. >> Mhm. >> And then she asked for two cards in Newport Schwarz. Do you want it? These two are they came in together. >> Okay. >> I don't know if he took anything. >> I believe they were in a short band with no windows. >> What color? >> White. All white. Nope. I think they jumped in the side of it. >> Can you just run that back a little bit? >> Based on the information provided by the store, officers located the white van in a nearby area. As soon as the suspect noticed the police, she immediately became alarmed and took off running, triggering a foot pursuit. >> You come here. >> Yes, you. >> Don't do it. >> Come here. >> Hello. >> Cuz you. >> Why? >> 2894. >> Why me? >> Pursuit. Now she's saying that she had two SIMs, but the thing is the phone only takes one SIM. It has a micro SD slot, but there was no micro SD slot. >> Okay. So, are you guys wanting her trespass out of here or do you want me to help a conversation with her or >> he keeps playing but she keeps getting at this point? We want her pass. Yes. >> Okay. Does she want to come? Can you let her know that? Cuz he's saying, you know, that why would he do he take it? >> Yeah. Like what's the point of that? Why would she influence? >> The employee suspected that the woman was under the influence of something as her behavior appeared mentally unstable. Because of that, the story she told afterward was difficult to believe. >> What's the issue you're having? >> Um, okay. The issue. >> Can you take a few steps back? >> I don't need you standing that close for me. What's going on? That's that's the link that is known. Okay. Believe me. >> What is going on? >> I know military. >> Okay. >> But anyway, >> yes. >> The fact is that I came here to get my phone replaced was actually um 2 days ago and they refused to do it. They said there was a problem with the person that sold the phone to me, which is a corporation. It doesn't matter. So, I bring the phone back again. I had a SIM card in it, of course, that was supplied and then I put a memory SD in it. The SD all of a sudden went missing. Then I'm asking for service and then but hold up. The whole problem is somebody else on my phone, which they won't regulate whereas all the four others. >> Well, at this point, the issue you're maybe having, the complaint you're trying to make is not going to be handled here. It can't be resolved at this level. So, the only option you have is to contact his office that he represents, the company he represents, and file a complaint directly through the company. >> Do you want me to you want me to contact um Eric? >> Who's Eric? >> You want me to show you? >> I'm letting you know is that what's going on here is not resolving anything. >> So, because of the disturbance you're causing at the store, he's going to ask you to leave. >> And the only way you can resolve this complaint? >> Yes, you have. >> I'm asking them. I have. Um, and the main person I was speaking to, he didn't shake his head. >> He's not represent to the store that he does. >> Yeah, you can't be raising your voice. >> I'm not raising my voice. You see, almost behaving. So, we're going to ask you for >> You could probably tell from the woman's behavior that she was not going to leave willingly. The officers at the scene thought the same, and they took action shortly afterward. >> Are you going to leave the store like you've been requested? >> No, I didn't request that, >> sir. Wait. What? No. >> No. What are you doing? Put your hands behind. I'm leaving. I told you. No, sir. I'm leaving. >> You said no. Stop. >> No. I said I'm right here. >> Stay right here. No, I'm not going to come. >> Stop resisting and stand still. >> Sir, you understand me. Just >> too late. You've been asked to leave several. I'm going to >> sir. >> What are you doing to me? I didn't do nothing. I'm asking you to go. >> RESISTING ARREST BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> Behind your back right there. >> Help me ask you politely. Ask me politely to come. As you can see, you tell them to handle me like this. >> No, I let go. You're going to grab and catch me again. >> Watch. I'm going to show you all. I didn't do nothing wrong. >> This is it. Just turn. Sorry. >> Can you stop handling me like that? >> May May I speak with you, honey? This is a woman. >> Put your chest against the car. >> Yes. >> Who's going to give you a pat down? You're going to my car. >> I ain't going to no car because I want to see I know. I want to see the evidence. There's got to be probable cause. >> You were trying to leave and you didn't. No, you didn't. Nobody told me to leave. I asked to speak with you. >> You're wrong. And I can't wait to show my integrity. >> What's he wrong about? >> I'm going to I want to talk to you. >> And to further show that the situation could have become much worse without police intervention. What officers found in her bag served as clear evidence of that. >> Freaking knife on her. This thing was right where she could have grabbed it if I would have given up wrestling her. It looks familiar. I bet I've dealt with her before. You know, if she destroyed or damaged anything that's either up along the counter's edge or over here. >> I don't think so. I know she was kicking this. >> Yeah, she kept kicking it. I think all they did was lift it up. >> Five units. >> Oh, yeah. That's who she is. I know exactly now who she is. I've arrested her before fortunately for other things. >> Wonder if she wanted to hold on to her purse. >> Holy. >> She is out there. >> That doesn't look like it heals either. That's fixes. >> My goodness are not fun to be out there. This I'm going to leave. I can't bring that to the jail. >> Carry this nice purse out. In the end, she was convicted of resisting an officer, battery, and trespassing. A disagreement with store staff should never turn into refusing lawful orders or resisting police. Staying calm and following lawful instructions can prevent a minor dispute from escalating into criminal charges. Next, [music] this woman turned a simple shoplifting incident into complete chaos. >> I paid for it. >> I promise you. >> I know you can pay for it, but you didn't. So, that's behind us, right? >> On the 3rd of October, 2025, police responded to a Walmart report of a woman allegedly concealing merchandise on surveillance cameras. Promise you in my backpack, too. >> I got money in my backpack. >> All right. >> 624. >> I got money. >> You are. >> I got >> right now. Well, can you just tell me as soon as you're done what um what the total of the price was? I want to make sure it wasn't. Thank you for coming, dude. I really appreciate it. >> Returning to the suspect, she could no longer keep up her lies. But the reason behind the theft was what truly stood out. >> Why we're out here? >> I don't know why we're out here. >> You don't know why we're out here? >> Yeah. To harass me, >> right? Well, why would we be forced to arrest you? >> I don't know. Okay. The thing I was stealing and I put stuff in my backpack and I paid for my stuff, >> right? So, you you did pay for some stuff. >> No, I paid for all of them. Get the receipt. >> I do have the receipt. >> See the receipt? >> Yeah, I do have the receipt. You thought you can get away with it? >> Yeah, I just thought >> All right. >> Do you remember what you took? >> I could pay for it though. >> All right, Lillian, look at me. Lillian, look at me. I know you can pay for it, but you didn't. So, that's behind us, right? Do you remember what items you placed in your bag? >> Yeah, I'm a member, man. >> You what? >> I'm a member. >> The woman was charged with theft and resisting an officer without violence. She turned a simple investigation into an arrest by refusing to cooperate and repeatedly resisting officers. Being honest and compliant from the start can prevent a situation from becoming far worse. Next, this couple dragged someone who should never have been involved into the consequences of their crime. >> This 100% my responsibility, sir. 100%. 100% on. And understand, you're doing this with a kid. That elevates things. >> Yeah. But I I >> On the 3rd of January 2025, police responded to a reported theft. A man and a woman allegedly attempted to steal Pokémon cards, but the situation involved far more than just the two suspects. To learn more, officers first listened to the store loss prevention employees statement. Uh during live surveillance simultaneously on the other monitor, we were looking at a individual coming into the store with selections of Pokemon cards in the toy aisle and then making their way over to the uh baby infant care aisle where there was another subject. Um and both subjects then had merchandise concealed under their cart. um right after making their way and meeting together with the other subject, white female, um they both proceeded to exit out of the uh east side exit. >> Okay. All right. And then uh but that at that point, you hadn't seen any concealment thus far, correct? Yeah, we we just had the selection of the packs at Right. Okay. So, um and then, you know, I went out there and made contact with them, you know, and because we weren't sure at that point if they were actually going to be, you know, related to the other shop that us. And then while I was making contact with them, uh, we had determined that you or you had seen through this surveillance video by reviewing that that they had concealed other merchandise. >> Correct. >> Okay. And what what else did they conceal? >> Uh, they concealed larger packs of Pokemon cards. Um, the cards were then concealed uh under the baby stroller on top of the baby stroller with the um what looks like a blanket and then moved around. Yeah. Then moved around on >> And then who who made those selections? >> Uh, that was the female subject. >> So female. Okay. So, and she had walked in prior to the male actually walking in, correct? >> Okay. And then he came in after and then walked out with her and at that and at that point is when I made contact with them, >> you know, in order to identify them at that point. >> As it turned out, the couple had even brought a one-year-old child with them. Meanwhile, as officers approached the suspects, they quickly came up with their own explanation for what had happened. It's unrelated. What's his first name? >> William. W I L L I A M. You want to identify the team? >> M I have your ID on you. >> 03 Alpha Zo. >> Oh yes, sir. >> So pick a bad time to steal Pokemon cards, man. Yeah. >> Yeah. That um just so we have an understanding, she had nothing. >> She was right there with you when you can see >> I it is totally me, man. Totally me. 100% me. >> Where you guys put the [ __ ] my cards under? >> Yeah. I I I you will give them back. Of course. Uh this 100% my responsibility, sir. 100 respect. 100% on them. Would you like them? >> Not really. >> Why would you still do seriously? very honest to God. Um, I am short on my rent and they are very valuable and I I was hoping to pull something in order to make up the money. I'm short on my rent. And that's the God's honest truth. The God's honest truth. It's not like I'm doing it just to do it. I I somewhere >> the man took full responsibility for the theft, but after successfully placing him in handcuffs, officers turned their attention to the woman, convinced that she was far from innocent. >> Yeah, you also stole stuff with the baby. >> Yeah, >> that doesn't matter. >> I have the money for it. I can >> Yeah, but guys, I just told him that's not how this works. You don't get to suddenly want to pay for things after you get caught by the police. >> It's not how it works. I literally you can literally see that I yelled for him. Like I literally >> I walked right over to you and concealed it. It's on video. >> I I literally >> You watched him do everything. You cannot Don't >> Okay. All right. I just >> You watched the whole thing with her. >> Okay. >> You also have all this stuff here. It's the same situation. >> Well, that's bulk from what we had before. Gota >> and we were going through all of our stuff. Regardless, it's the same situation. He's >> Well, does the address on my ID matter to what I my >> No, they should be able to find you. >> Okay. >> Am I going to know when his bail is or does he have to call me or >> wait? Okay. You're asking all these questions and you're just as involved as he is. >> You understand that, right? >> Yeah. But >> Okay. So, stop asking questions being that you might be taking the ride with him. Okay. Do you understand what's going on here? >> Yeah, I do. >> Do you understand what's going on? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. So, stop that. Go stupid. Okay. >> Oh, I'm just curious. >> Until we get to that point, I will explain everything. Okay. As of right now, you guys are both detained. Okay. >> And understand, you're doing this with a kid. That elevates things. >> Yeah. But I I I mean, I cannot talk to him. No. >> Okay. >> Nope. >> Because even if he doesn't want to press charges. >> It did not stop there. Officers searched the vehicle and discovered several suspicious items that could lead to additional charges against him. At that point, they confronted the man about what they had found. >> Uh-huh. >> Is what's in that lunch box yours? >> Um uh actually we went um fishing earlier today with my niece and two of my friends and they left a lunch box and a fishing pole in my car. What? >> So, why is it unzipped on the driver's side? >> Um, I was I was I was supposed to bring it to them. >> But that's what I'm saying. You can't drive the car with that on the driver floor. >> Yeah, I was. >> But it's unzipped and open. That's what I'm saying. Like, that's weird. >> Yeah. I I >> And inside of there, we have pills and a pill bottle and a pill cutter. >> Yeah. >> No, sir. >> So, that's why I'm like, all right. Obviously, we got something else going on here. >> Yeah. No. So, the lunch box isn't yours? >> No, sir. >> Is it going to be hers? >> No, it is not hers. >> Okay. So, why was it unzipped and open? >> I I can't tell you why it was unzipped and opened, but it was in the back seat when we got in to come here, and I just moved it to the front seat with me because I was supposed to drop it off to my friend Jake's house. >> Okay. >> That and his fishing pole, which I left at my house. >> Gotcha. So, you just All right. Other than the marijuana cigarette or cigar, rather, whatever. Yeah. Other other than that, >> the ball is mine. >> Okay. Is there anything else? >> No, sir. >> Okay. So, I'm not going to come up with any other surprise. >> No, sir. >> Okay. All right. Just bear with me. All right. >> Shortly afterward, a family member arrived to take custody of the child and officers attempted to explain what had happened. >> Um, who's being arrested? >> Both of them. >> Both of them? >> Yeah, both of them. They're both, >> you know, they put their son at risk. >> Okay. >> All right. >> Yeah. Again, I can't go into the full nature of it, but either way, they're they're both being transported to the jail tonight and their car is being towed. >> Okay. >> All right. >> Yeah, I appreciate letting them come and get >> No, no, for sure. I mean, again, we don't we don't want to keep the kid or anything else from, you know, from the parents and things like that. However, obviously once you're start once obviously you start putting your child in danger, you know, >> I completely understand. Oh, sorry. >> Who are you? Sorry for being an idiot. >> How old is your kid? >> Huh? >> How old is your kid? >> He's a year old. [laughter] You think that this is a good environment for him to be? >> No, I just I know I know and I'm sorry I want to fix it. >> So maybe you take this as a learning experience and you try and change your your life around for the betterment of your child. Okay? Cuz if you look at your car, >> the woman was charged with theft, conspiracy to commit theft, and child neglect.
