[Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] I work corrections for two years. I was max custody out in Florence and I think obviously it's in the same law enforcement field. Uh however, it's more of a controlled environment. and that you you're dealing with already convicted criminals, so you're you're more cautious of of your work and what you do and how you speak to people. I think it's important because it >> it taught me how to Yes, they're criminals. They're already convict convicted. However, they've already been judged. It's it's not our responsibility to judge. Whereas over here, we we have to determine whether or not they committed a crime. >> So, we are going to a trespass call. Uh multiple people called on a vehicle and in a shopping plaza stating that there were multiple people living inside that vehicle and they want them trespassed. Yeah, it's probably going to be that. Not only are we here to enforce the law, but also to try to give them some resources as well. Yep. It's right here. >> And we're on three, right? >> Yep. >> Hey, how's it going? >> Hi. How are you? >> Pretty good. Are you just here? Are you the driver? >> Yes, I'm buying the vehicle, actually. >> All right. Can you do me a favor, sir? Just step over there with my partner while I speak to these two. >> Sounds good. Yeah. >> Hey, guys. What's up, brother? How are you? Are >> you guys the owners? >> Title or >> No, we're just out here cuz they called us because they were uh reporting a trespass call. Allegedly, people were living in this vehicle. Um, but that's what we wanted to confirm whether what's what's going on, you know. So, you're trying to buy this vehicle from them? >> Yes, it was actually posted on offer up. So, I um >> Okay. So, you're going to actually take the vehicle right now to with the tow truck and just >> Yes. >> Okay. Awesome. Cool. Cool. >> The original P. Let me show you the message. It's right here. >> Okay. It's for 700 bucks. >> Yeah. >> Got it. >> I actually offered him three. >> Oh, did you? Did he take it? >> Yeah, >> he did take it. Damn. All right. Well, that's a good good deal for you. Actually, I actually just showed up literally like not even 5 minutes ago. >> Okay. So, it's safe to say that this vehicle is going to be gone like within >> 20 minutes. >> Yeah, for sure. The the starters um once you once you try to crank it, you could hear the um it's it's like a little um >> it it just doesn't um how do you say it? >> It doesn't turn over. It doesn't turn over. Yeah. >> Got it. And you're going to your plans are Joe, was to fix it? >> No, to junk it. >> To junk it. Got it. Hector, >> they're saying they're not homeless and the reporting party perceived that they may be homeless. Uh they kind of broke down. They sold the vehicle and while they requested they be trespassed. So just based on their circumstances, maybe they'll agree to have them move along and just carry on with their day. >> Hey, we thought it was someone actually living here. Turns out that, hey, it's a car that's going to be sold to that gentleman right there, right? >> Yeah. I put a shopping cart and put everything in the car into the cart so that I can home, you know. >> Got it. Okay. >> And Walmart's right by my house, so I figured I just stop there. >> Cool. Cool. >> Awesome. All right. And so you guys brought this car from Nevada. >> I did. >> You did? >> I did. >> Okay. It's a long drive, right? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. It is. >> So kids area, they do want them trespass. >> They do want them trespass. So we'll get that started. Do you have a trespass log? >> I don't have my bag with me, but we >> I have one. >> Okay. Um, for info, just for info, they are saying that they're going to get the car moved like within 20 minutes. Yeah, >> they just need to confirm everything and then that they can put the car in the bed of the truck and then they'll bounce out of here. >> Here you guys go. Try to cool down. Have a good day. >> We are going to a report of individuals breaking into an apartment unit. Uh we're going to determine whether or not we go into that unit to clear that of any uh suspects and we'll go from there. We got multiple units on site in order to keep and contain anyone that may be in the apartment until we go inside. >> Yo, what are we looking at? 19 right here. Which one is it, bro? Right here. This one right here. >> Come back here. We're using this. So right now we're going to go to north of the apartment unit. We're going to be serving as the catch team in case they book it north. We'll be able to go uh hands-on with them over there. >> Okay. So it looks like they're addressing someone >> making contact right now. >> So while they were clearing the unit, they're they did locate another subject. So now >> Yeah, go for it. So, we came out here. >> We know you're inside. >> Try to make it as safe as possible and get them to come out. >> Just saw you the Mesa Police Department. Come outside. Hands on your head. Follow command. You can guarantee your safety. >> There was a backpack and some blankets back there. It >> It looked like a hand and an arm holding the blanket up over a person. They might have gone. I might [Music] [Music] [Music] He does have a mini drone that is able to go into buildings. So, he's going to get that just to see if we can get a better view inside the unit without jeopardizing any of the officer safety. [Music] He's under a blanket wrapped up. >> He's looking He's looking at the drone. >> He's using the blanket as a mask for the pepper bomb. >> Hey, we see you there. >> Is he moving at all? Any indication that he wants to come out? >> Nope. He's still sitting there. He's wrapped up in a blanket, but he'll peek under the blanket every once in a while. Look at the drone. >> The blanket. Come on out. So what we deployed is the pepper ball. >> So it just gives us difficulty breathing similar to the OC spray that we utilized. We just stepped away from that immediate doorway just because we were so exposed to it initially. He's refusing to come out already. So his compliance level is is not very high. I'm grabbing my gas mask. We carry all of this gear with us. We don't always use it, but it's good to have handy for situations like this. The gas is utilized as well as a as a I like an incentive to maybe get him to come out. We tried the pepper ball already. Clearly, there's no indication that he's going to comply with us. So, we are going to deploy some sort of gas. This will help us go in there without getting the effect of it and hopefully get him get him in custody without any further incident. >> 22. The chief's going to report you. >> You got this right one. >> All right. So, someone cover me. [Music] Hold [Music] back. All right, come out. [Music] >> Spanish, man. >> Hey, do you think she's a Spanish speaker? >> Speak Spanish? >> Yeah. Awesome. Unless someone Okay. Okay. Okay. >> The wall the wall is right. We took a drone inside. They have clear view of him. He was covering himself, more likely using the blanket as a filter for the pepper ball that we deployed. Ultimately, we decided to go in there. There was a no indicator that there was anybody else inside. So, we did go in there. We we put on our gas mask with the intent to deploy gas in there and hopefully get him to come out um on his own, which didn't happen. Once in there, we set up our immediate action team right outside that little hallway where he was located. We gave him multiple commands. We uh peaked through the side. Uh it was just very tiny. We couldn't fit in a team in there to get him anyway. So, we picked We gave him multiple commands. We uh figured that he possibly spoke Spanish. So, I started communicating with him in Spanish. I got at least a reaction out of him. Nice. >> I couldn't I couldn't hear the response, but he was at least mumbling something. Um, ultimately he he decided to come out and comply. >> Got it. That's good. I mean, um, good thing he's not terribly hurt, right? He just got gassed. >> The first suspect that came out, he's not hurt. He's not hurt at all. So, >> no. So, he came out walking to us. My concern was maybe he's injured or but he he was responding. We attempted, hey, are you okay? Give us a any indication that you're hurt so we can help you. Yeah. >> Um he didn't respond to any of that. Again, ultimately right before we we made entry to retrieve him, he came out walking and >> No, good. Good. I mean, he's not terribly hurt. We're not hurt. It's hot. I mean, we got him out. >> Two people in custody, so that's good. >> So, we are going to an apartment complex. Reference a call for service. A lady says that she has an order of protection against her husband. She wants to change the locks and she wants uh the odor protection served against him. He we ran his name. He also has a tempe warrant. So if we do locate him, we can arrest him for that warrant and also serve him that paperwork. >> She said he might try to run from PD second floor. There's not a lot of places to run. Cool. It's >> going to be this building right here. >> 38 is for obstruction of a court order. It's a >> mirror. Cool. M police of police. >> So he's not answering. the reporting party who also resides here uh authorized maintenance to go in there. She said they were going to do routine maintenance. So that's their thing. They have every right to do that. We're going to allow him. We are going to stand by >> maintenance. It's not locked. >> It's not locked. >> Unless the privacy is locked on. Locked. >> Maintenance coming in. >> Go ahead. >> Privacy locks on. I can't. >> Can you add one Baker 13, please? >> This lock is fine. Okay. >> And that's the only the only way someone can lock is from the inside, correct? Yeah. I mean, she's going to have to figure out a way to get a locksmith or something, come help out and bring that door open. And she can always request us as well. >> Is there a secondary lock in there? >> Yeah, it's a privacy lockage right here. >> Okay. >> And you could only do it from the inside. There's no lock in it from >> Clearly, there's someone in there, right? >> Yeah, there is. >> All right. So, we'll give it a shot. Any property in there is communal property. However, based on the circumstances, um I advise her to come back either at a time where he's at work and if she knows a separate location where we can go contact him, then she can let us know. We can go survey wherever he's at. >> Definitely. >> Or she could always get like a locksmith, have them open it, and then call us again for a civil standby. >> I am driving because I get horrible motion sickness, and if I don't drive right now, I'm probably going to throw up and I don't want to do that. in uh Janet's car. So, um I'm driving. >> That's a his nice way of saying I'm really bad at driving. >> I mean, no. But yeah, that's why I'm driving. I get really bad motion sickness. And I've said it before and I'll say it again. Doesn't matter if it's a slow day or action-packed day. As long as we're going home safe to our families, it's a good day.
