I'M NOT doing anything. You're twisting me. >> Stop it. >> I know. >> The woman clearly had no intention of cooperating, making it extremely difficult for the officers to place her in handcuffs. As a result, they were forced to take her to the ground to gain CONTROL OF THE SITUATION. I'M GOING TO DIE. [screaming] I'M GOING TO DIE. I'M GOING TO DIE. >> CAN YOU PLEASE STOP? >> WHY ARE YOU HURTING ME? >> Cuz you're hurting. ATTACKING THE GUY. >> I'M NOT ATTACKING ANYBODY. >> STOP IT. PLEASE. WHY ARE YOU HURTING ME? I'M NERVOUS. >> WHAT do you think about the officer's response? Do you think it was reasonable in this situation? Don't forget to leave a comment and share your thoughts. As for the woman, she appeared to use the events that followed to portray herself as the victim. >> I bunched up your gloves on. You're literally HURTING ME. YOU'RE LITERALLY DOING IT ON PURPOSE. THAT'S WHY YOU JUST SAY RESISTING. WHY ARE YOU HURTING ME? I'M NOT DOING ANYTHING. WHY ARE YOU HURTING? >> JUST SETTLE DOWN. >> I KNOW. Settle down. It's not hurting. >> He's not hurting me. You're chasing up. Stop. >> No, I'm not. He's literally my fingers. >> STOP. >> OH MY GOD. YOU'RE A LITTLE TYP. >> No one sees this HURTING ME. >> NO ONE SEES [screaming] HURTING ME. >> For what? CUZ I PAID FOR my >> How stupid you sound the whole >> Have a seat. Seat. >> There we go. >> Please get that off. Hurt me for what reason? [ __ ] my car. >> I took a spot. >> All right. What do you got? Did anybody want to meet? >> Uh, so she was physically pushing and and like >> she was >> No, no, I know her, but to who? >> An employee in there. >> The officers then returned to the loss prevention office to hear the employees side of the story. It turned out the incident had stemmed from another act of wrongdoing by the woman. >> Able to reimburse her for that? >> Um, aggravated assault. >> Is it a >> or aggravated theft? Yeah, >> depending on Was was he were you trying to stop her from stealing merchandise? >> Yeah, I think >> so. So, you saw her scanning the self checkouts? >> Yeah. >> And then you said that she can you scan everything? She said, "Yeah, but I think can I see your receipt?" I asked you angry. So he asked for receipt and then you asked her, "Can I see your receipt?" And she said, "4 she started hitting you out of nowhere, just grabbing you, hitting you." >> Yes, I am. Why you hit me? >> Yeah, we we'll do aggravated theft and um >> depending on if he wants to do charges for assault, we can do assault. If not, I'm going to do disorderly conduct, then interference. Here she is. I got >> The suspect's family members arrived shortly afterward. Instead of helping deescalate the situation, they showed up with an equally confrontational attitude. >> The baby was right in my house. The baby's sad. Everybody's sad. Everybody just got You're not the only like why you all doing all that to her. >> I'm saying she's breathing just fine. >> Why she said step back there? >> Shut the [ __ ] up. >> Step back there. That's why your hand's bleeding cuz you're a [ __ ] >> Nothing scary back there. She's not hurting anybody here. So, as long as she stays right here, you're trying to size her upurized woman like murderer or something. >> This is private property. If you like >> I don't need to. I'm here for a reason. What are you here for? >> My sister. >> No reason. Correct. >> Cuz y'all are murderers. >> No reason. >> Murderers. >> Can we have your badge number? What's your badge number? I already have everything else on recording and I'm going to take a picture of that too cuz we're this is exactly what we're doing. I'm about to do a lawsuit now because of all this. We were trying not to do that because of that. His hand is Yeah, exactly. Cuz he's a you don't you ain't going to fight nobody else. You ain't fight no man without no badge on my whole family's going through so much cuz y'all >> because of us. >> Okay. On the ground. >> Because of us. Okay. Ma'am, please stop blowing your smoke on her face. I mean, that's going to happen. Just like you guys have right to say, >> you're literally trying to be my a little girl. The woman was charged with aggravated theft, assault-causing bodily injury, and interference with official acts. No matter how minor the original incident may seem, responding with violence, refusing to cooperate with officers, and resisting arrest will only make the situation far worse. Staying calm and handling the matter through legal channels is always a better choice than allowing emotions to turn a single accusation into multiple criminal charges. >> You try to stop her? >> Yeah. And oh, look at her. >> Yeah. >> Get on the ground. Don't move. I'm going to tase you. Get on the ground. Turn around. >> On the 30th of June, 2024, police received a report from Dick Sporting Goods about a woman who fled after failing in her shoplifting attempt, and officers pursued her, creating a tense and chaotic chase. >> STOP. STOP. GET ON THE GROUND. Don't move. I'm going to tase you. Get on the ground. Turn around. Give your hand. I'm not even ready for you. Stand up. Where's your shoes? Right here. We right beside the raising canes. All right, let's get your shoes on. Right. >> The arrest was successful, but upon closer look, she showed no remorse and instead began playing the racist card. >> Profiled me anyway. He throw stuff in my dad. >> He what? >> He racially profiled me. He throw stuff in my dad. He threw stuff in your bag. >> Yeah, let's head over to uh head over to Excuse me. Uh a cold had you think in our store? >> One of my teammates >> is that is what is that? >> Yeah. >> One of my teammates said, "Hey, you see that young lady in the back of the wall said I have eyes on." >> Uh-huh. So, she had a shopping cart and she had all of these items and she was trying to cover everything up >> with a t-shirt. >> You have video of this? >> I have video of it all. >> Okay. >> So, I didn't get this merchandise >> Uhhuh. until man I didn't get this merchandise until what I think we were probably I don't know what the exact store is but she was way I'm talking about she ran from our side of the of the mall >> with the merchandise all the way to the other side ran out the door ran all the way around the corner that's how we get here >> this merchandise was taken from her at >> way beyond you'll see her exiting our store just trying to run because she thought that I wasn't going to course. >> Yeah. But yes, to answer your question. >> Okay. Um >> and I have everything on video. >> Okay. Is there a way that we can do that? >> Yeah, sure. Sure. We can do that right now. Uh we go to the uh we can go to uh >> The woman claimed the employee had tried to plant merchandise in her bag to frame her, but with several large boxes involved, the story was hard to believe and staff further detailed her attempted escape. I appreciate God's cardio by the way. Like I She almost was like I know the deal. This is what I'm going to do. >> Yeah. Like you'll see like even it was too male like me and your size. >> She was like in port and just ran out. And just to kind of give you just to kind of give you what she would have had to do before I show you this video. It would be from here. >> Yeah. >> All the way out to the next parking lot. >> You understand? >> Yeah. >> So, just to kind of give you a view of what that So, this is when Let me >> Let me uh go back. All right. So, and I'll speed it up a little bit. Mhm. It's >> where those red shorts were. >> Yeah. when I saw her gearing up. So, she was putting it in that bag right there. >> Yeah. >> That's when I was trying to position myself a little bit. >> Yeah. >> To engage her, hop right at the door. Then she seen this teammate and try to, of course, kind of fade it off a little bit. >> Yeah. >> So, that that that bag is hers. That bag is hers. Yeah. >> The cameras showed everything clearly, including her desperate attempt to flee in chaos. >> Um, but if I can give you 230, about 238. She's making her way. >> I see her back there. >> Yeah. >> With the bag. >> Yeah. >> And you try to stop her. >> Yeah. >> And Oh, look at her. >> Yeah. She's taking a ride, dog. She's [laughter] taking a ride. That's it. >> That's a wrap. That's all. What happened today? >> Basically, I was in there shopping. >> Mhm. >> Um I got all my items. I was bagging my stuff. So, when I got like close by the door and I was looking like trying to find a shirt to match the uh pair of shoes, like to match the same color cuz my son already had the shoes. We was all trying to match. So, boom. By that time, I think a lady had came across me. you like, "Can I help you?" I was like, "No, I got everything like I'm I'm fine." >> Mhm. >> So when I was coming like towards the front going to bend and go like towards the right. >> That's when he came. He was like, "Where you going? Where you going?" I'm like, "What is you talking about?" >> And then that's when he started like trying to grab on me. So I jked him like, "What the fuck?" And then when I when I seen him like when he kind of like grabbed me, I did like this and I ran out the door. And like I was just telling him, "I seen y'all two park." Like when I got my lift, I seen y'all two parked over there. So I'm like, "You racially profiling me while I'm running?" Like, "You racially profiling me?" He was like, "Fuck that. [ __ ] that." Like while we was running. So I'm like, "What the fuck?" So I finally went like in the little door cuz I thought I seen like I thought that's why I had came in and looked for y'all. So I'm like, "I'm licking. I'm licking." Then I didn't see nobody. And then I'm like, "What you grabbing on me before I got the money to pay for my stuff? You just ran for no reason." I said, "Now you going to go down for racially profiling me." And then that was the end of it. So, you ran out of the store with the stuff, not paid for it. >> In the end, the woman was charged with shoplifting. This case showed that denial and playing the victim could not erase clear evidence once actions were caught on camera. The truth spoke louder than any excuse. Next, this woman tried to run because she knew she was almost certainly going to jail. >> I swear her, sir. >> Turn around. >> I didn't. >> I told you to stop. >> I knew I was going to go to jail for a long time. That's That's a lot. >> It's shoplifting. >> On the 4th of November 2022, officers were dispatched to a shopping mall after receiving a report that a woman with six prior shoplifting arrests had been spotted there. It appeared she had offended again because as soon as she saw the police, she ran, leading to a dramatic foot pursuit. Stop. I don't. >> No, I'm not stopping, sir. >> No. >> No. >> I'm not stopping, sir. >> I didn't do anything. >> Yes, you did. >> No, I didn't. >> Stop. >> No. Stop. You stop. >> Get your hands off of me, sir. >> No, I didn't do anything, >> sir. I didn't do anything. >> You're going to get tased. >> No, I didn't do anything. Sir, >> stop touching me. >> Stop. >> No damn front of the food court. >> Give a hug a food court. >> No. >> Stop. >> You stop. >> You're going to get tased. >> Why are you doing this? >> Because you shoplifted. >> I did it. >> I told you to stop. >> I swear I did it. >> Ma'am, >> I did it. >> Do not stop. >> I swear I did it. >> Stop. >> I swear her, sir. >> Turn around. >> I did it. >> I told you to stop. >> That is not true. Please. >> I'm going to give you count. No, sir. >> No. I'm going home. >> Stop. >> Okay. >> You're going to get tased. >> Okay. Okay. Wait. >> No. >> Okay. >> Get out here. >> Okay. >> Get out here. >> Please don't do this. >> Stop. >> Just let me sit down. >> Please. >> The woman continued to insist she [music] was innocent after failing to escape. Even after getting into her car, she claimed she just wanted to sit down. But she also tried to start the vehicle, forcing [music] the officers to stop her before she could drive away. >> Stop. No. >> No. >> Nope. >> No. You [panting] uh >> stop. >> Uh-uh. Mister. >> Stop. >> You've got to stop. Stop. >> Okay. Okay. I'm stopping. Here. Here. Here. >> Mister. Here. Here. Here. >> Stop. >> Here. Sir. >> I get her to. >> Yeah. Can I get a face card? Turn around. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Sir. >> Okay, sir. >> Get back. I'm just trying to >> I'm sorry. >> Do not move. >> I'm not the car. Try to go. >> Ow. >> I I won't do nothing. I swear >> you don't run from the police and then try and get in the car with them. >> No, sir. >> Give me that. >> No, sir. >> What the other one look like? >> I'm so sorry. >> I don't The other uh >> I only saw her. >> Please. Like I >> stop. >> When I tell you to stop, that means stop. How are you? >> I'm so sorry. >> I'm just trying to get her to unlock her phone so I can call her husband. >> After the officers successfully handcuffed the suspect, they searched her purse and found the stolen merchandise. Only then did she finally begin to show her embarrassment. >> All right. >> Where's your ID at? >> No. See? >> Yeah. >> Your purse is full of stolen stuff. >> Yes, sir. >> Yeah. >> I am God. I'm so embarrassed. Face the car. >> I'm so sorry. >> I am so embarrassed. >> Where's your car? >> My car's on the other side from the security office. >> Huh? >> Are you going to have somebody else transport or you transport? >> Yes. >> Yeah. Somebody else in transport is cool. >> I'm so sorry. >> She dropped a bracelet over here in the parking lot. >> Sorry. >> No, I mean sorry. I'm not saying I'm sorry. I apologize for doing that. >> Yeah, I'm good, man. I appreciate it. >> Somebody grab her shoes. >> Well, I really do apologize. >> It's right there. In reality, she only appeared embarrassed after being caught red-handed, not remorseful for what she had done. She then began pleading with the officers, offering one excuse after another in an attempt to avoid the consequences. >> So, at this point, you're going to go, too. Okay. >> Okay. I mean, I can pay for the stuff I got. >> Oh, it's a little We're past that point. Okay. >> Can I call my husband because my son >> When you get to jail, you can you can make a phone call. >> If you get >> What's your last name? >> Men. >> Mullen. >> Yeah. I mean, you can call >> 77 central. >> I just need to let him know where I'm going. >> Can I get a criminal history while you're calling? >> Sorry, please. >> My son hasn't seen picked up from work. >> I don't know how to get a phone call. >> Well, it's going to be a minute. Okay, >> you can call him. Just tell him, you know, where I'm going. >> Do you know if I'm going to bond tonight? >> I don't know. If you would, >> we're we'll figure that out here in a minute. Okay. >> Then we'll get going. >> Yes, ma'am. >> Can you please call my husband and tell him where I'm going so he can get my son from work? >> In the bag. And my car does not lock. I need my key. >> I don't want to come back and not have a car. >> I'll bring your key. >> Watch out. >> The woman was confirmed to have a criminal history and she knew it herself. She later admitted that her prior record was exactly why she had tried to run from the police. >> I mean, >> why are you just stopped? >> Cuz I knew I was going to go to jail for a long time. That's that's all honest. >> It's shoplifting. >> I know. And it's that's all I've ever done in a wrong. >> How many times have have you been caught shoplifting in charge? >> Five. >> Five. Five convictions. >> I swear. But it's the only thing I've ever done. I know. I I as forg. But I don't mind is the devil's playground. And I should have never even been here. >> It's like you're playing Russian roulette with yourself. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> You got kids? >> No. >> No. You married? >> Yeah. And my husband does not deserve this stuff. It's such a shitty thing to do. I'm so stupid. I swear I'm stupid. This is so ridiculous. >> I hate myself for doing this. I do better. >> I can't believe it. >> You know, you you make bad choices. >> In the end, the woman was charged with shoplifting and felony obstruction of a law enforcement [music] officer. Trying to escape accountability rarely erases the original crime. In many cases, the attempt to run, resist, or deceive law enforcement creates more serious consequences than the theft itself. On the 12th of December 2025, officers responded to Target's loss prevention office after receiving a report that a woman known for repeated shoplifting had been spotted at the store. But this time, the moment she walked out of the exit in an attempt to flee, officers immediately moved in and arrested her. >> Police stop. DON'T YOU RUN. RUN. PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> Somebody cover her. >> What did I do? >> Stop resisting. >> What did I do? >> Stop resisting. >> I'm not even resisting. >> Those doors don't open fast enough. >> Roll is clicking. I just went through the whole took my receipt. Ain't nothing in my purse. Nothing. for all y'all to do that. >> All right. >> Goodbye. >> Can I get my hat? >> No. My [ __ ] hurts. >> Soon after, she was taken back to Target's loss prevention office where officers quickly explained why she was being arrested. Let's see how she reacted. >> So, what did y'all see me put in my purse or something? What is the problem? >> There's going to be 22 cases of retail fashion. >> Not me. >> That's not what the video shows. >> What video? >> That's not me. >> You said 22 cases >> of what? >> Who? Retail theft. 22 cases of what? >> Retail theft. Stealing. 22 cases of stealing. >> Why is it saying cases? Cases of what? 22 different incidents. >> No, not me. >> Yeah, he said it's interesting. Y got the wrong person. You not even know who you talking to. No, you don't. >> Okay. Okay. >> 22 cases. Be getting the wrong people. Think y'all got somebody else. Talking about 22 cases. That's not me. Y >> Why did you run? >> She denied the allegations against her. But one question remained. If she had done nothing wrong, why did she panic and run the moment she saw the police? It was a completely natural reaction from someone afraid of getting caught. >> How did you run? >> Huh? >> Why'd you run? >> Y'all scared me? Why your all came out like 10 deep? >> That's all stolen. >> Scared that >> she scanned it. >> No, she did not. >> She I went through the line. What you mean she ain't standing? >> No. Look at my >> I don't know. It was 10 of them. [cheering] IT WAS 10 OF THEM PRAISING. I'M LIKE, WHAT? >> Because they were saying people like >> No, they I didn't know who they was talking to. >> Yo, police stopped. >> My bad. >> So, what was the lesson? >> You okay? >> Yeah. Like, thank God my 22 case lost it. Y'all got the wrong person. So she had scanning all that stuff in there. I went through the line. If I was going to take, I wouldn't be stealing through the scene. >> I saw. So you just She ran. >> Yep. Police stopped, kept running. Tas. >> Did you feel the taste? >> She She told me she felt >> Somehow they all fell out when you hit the ground. >> Everybody else. >> Her frustration only continued to grow. It seems she believed that acting this way would somehow make her look innocent. Even then, she continued to deny everything. I wasn't stealing. That's what I'm saying. She ain't scared all that stuff in that car. I gave her my whole cart. >> No idea. >> That's what I'm saying. Look at the cameras. I went through the line. >> I got you. >> She talking about 22 cases. 22 cases of what? >> Hey, just heads up. They have a lot of cameras at this place. >> Oh, that's what they mean. Like 22 cameras. >> No, they got like probably about 1,000 cameras, but they have uh 22 cases of you stealing between here and East Poria. >> Steve out there before. Oh, these cameras are good. Are you twins? >> I do have a twin. Shay. I'm just going to say that. I do have a twin. >> What's your name? >> Shay. >> What's your date of birth? >> Uh 12. >> You don't even know your date of birth. >> No, you said my date of birth. >> No, I said >> her date of birth is >> Well, twins is the same day. >> What? >> Twins are the same day. >> You said my date of birth? >> No. >> Were you and your sister born on the same day? >> 11. >> That's both your birthday. >> Born in December. I thought he said, "What's today's date?" >> What's today's date? >> Y'all better make sure it's neat. >> Y'all better make sure it's me cuz it's going to be a serious thing. We both got the red. >> What? >> Hey, show them. Can I call somebody real quick for my kids? >> Where's your kids at? >> They at the house. >> I don't know why you're taking my [ __ ] >> At that point, officers found her ID in the bag she was carrying. She immediately claimed she had a twin sister and suggested that her sister was the one responsible, but she had no evidence to support that claim. >> Is this your proper identification or what? >> How do you spell your name? >> For about a year and a half, >> who is it? >> How do you spell your name? >> K A S. Hold on. >> K A S H E K. E E K A >> tattoo on her leg. >> Yeah, I got a tattoo on my leg. >> Let me see that tattoo on her leg. >> I have a tattoo on my leg, but my sister, what do you mean? Where do you see a tattoo at? >> Okay. So, what do you mean you got to know? You just saying stuff cuz I'm not the same person who last name. >> What's your middle name? >> Uh, Ty Josia Chen. >> What? >> Ty Josia Chen. >> You have two middle names? >> Yes. >> Is Chen with a C or an S? Is that French? >> Is this Is the Chenet with a C or an S? >> Miss Long, did you drive out here today? >> My wrote me. >> What's your What's your birthday again? >> 1111. >> We've got an ID. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> What about >> That's your sister? >> Yeah. >> That's >> Let me see >> your ID. >> That's your sister's ID? >> Yeah, >> that's your sister's ID. >> That's my That's my ID. >> That's your sister's ID. >> What is you talking about? >> Oh, I'm sorry. >> I'm just >> That's my ID. All right. Fingerprint. >> So, y'all don't think that's me. Y'all don't even know if that's me on my ID, but y'all said I got 22. >> Changed so much since that photo was taken. When was that photo taken? >> Huh? >> When was that photo taken? >> 23. >> So, I look different. >> Yeah, you do. >> Y crazy. Y'all don't even know. >> The woman was charged with multiple counts of retail theft. [music] Running from the police, repeatedly denying the evidence, and shifting the blame cannot [music] erase a pattern of criminal behavior. When investigators have evidence from multiple incidents, [music] deception only weakens your credibility and leads to more serious consequences. Worse, Walmart was thrown into chaos because of this employees behavior. >> BRO, LET [screaming] ME GO. >> STOP. MOVE. I'M going to call my mama. I'm going to call my headphones. >> I'M GOING TO CALL MY MAMA. >> On the 19th of September 2025, officers were dispatched to a Walmart after reports of an ongoing disturbance. Even worse, the person causing the disruption turned out to be an employee of the store as she refused to return her company uniform. This was what unfolded when officers arrived at the scene. >> Well, listen, y'all just find me some early conduct if you keep yourself. >> Please stop touching. Please stop touching. >> Give them the stuff. What are we doing? >> Give them the stuff. >> If you walk out of the store, you're getting arrested and that's going to be that. >> Okay. >> You got Oh, >> come here. See, now you done. >> Now you done. >> The woman completely ignored the officer's commands, effectively turning the situation into a resisting charge. Moments later, the officers took action to put an end to her behavior. >> Bro, stop. >> Bro, stop talking me. Stop choking me, bro. >> Stop. >> Move. >> MOVE, BRO. [screaming] NO, LET ME GO. I SWEAR TO GOD. >> LISTEN, LET ME GO. >> BRO, LET ME GO. [screaming] BRO, I GOT BRO, LET ME GO. >> BRO, STOP. >> BRO, LET ME, >> BABY. GIRL, I TOLD YOU. LET ME GO. >> JUST LISTEN, GIRL. >> YOU BABY, JUST LISTEN. AT FIRST OFFER ANYTHING TO GOD. YOU GET A [ __ ] CASE, BRO. >> COOL. That was fun, wasn't it? For no reason, >> bro. Bro, let me go. And you took me and I WAS LIKE, "BRO, LET ME GO, BRO. LET ME GO. YEAH, BROTHER, LET ME GO, >> BRO." I'M LIKE, "YEAH, BROTHER, LET ME GO FOR A BIG ISSUE and take this. Come to >> Bro, move. Hey, hey, hey, >> bro. Let me go, >> baby. Bro, let me go. >> Bro, let me go. >> Let me go. >> Come on. >> You have to listen, bro. Let me go. >> Are we really going to do this right now? >> Bro, you all get this cuz let me go. >> We gave you every opportunity to get the best I can. >> She clearly did nothing to make the situation any less chaotic. In fact, she showed little concern for the charges she was facing, seemingly believing that her age could serve as an excuse for her actions. >> You're not booking her. >> Stop. >> Move. I'm going to call my mama. I'M GOING TO CALL MY MOM. >> I'M GOING TO CALL MY MAMA. I'M A MINOR FOR YOU. >> NO, >> because you done UP, >> BRO. I DON'T CARE. I'M A MINOR AND Y'ALL JUST DID ALL THIS GOOD. >> WHY YOU GET ARRESTED? >> I don't care. >> Get in the car. >> Give me my phone. Get in the car. Stop kicking me. >> Stop kicking me. >> Get in the car. >> AND THEN Y'ALL Y'ALL JUST CAR >> GET IN THE CAR. >> NO, I A TICKET. >> OKAY, BRO. STOP PULLING ON ME. >> I'm not going to get IN THE CAR. Y'ALL GOT ALL THIS [ __ ] RIGHT HERE. STOP PUSHING. >> CLOSE THE DOOR. >> GET IN THE CAR. >> OH, WHAT THE DON'T YOU SEE ME IN THE CAR? >> God damn. In reality, refusing to return the vest could easily have led to a theft charge. Yet, she remained confident that being a minor would shield her from the consequences, even going as far as ordering the officers around. >> Give me my phone so I can call my parents. >> We are going to call your parents. >> No, you are not. Give me my phone so I can call >> my parents. Listen to me. >> No, I'm not trying TO HEAR NONE THAT YOU >> I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU'RE TRYING TO HEAR. OKAY, so stop talking. >> We are trying to call your parents. >> How you going to call my parents? You don't even know my parent number. >> That's why we rolled down the window. You see? So we can talk if you want to talk. >> I don't want to talk. Y'all just did all that for no reason. >> Well, but you have to call your mom or your dad. Whichever one. >> Y'all did all that for no reason. Y'all could have been that a parent or guardian. >> It doesn't matter. >> It does matter. >> Listen to me. No. >> It does matter. >> Oh, you know the law. >> I do actually. >> Okay. Well, you don't. So, that's the thing. We gave you every opportunity to leave. EVERY OPPORTUNITY. >> GOING HOME. DON'T YOU SEE IT'S THE UBER booked down there? They wanted to go. >> They needed the vest. That's all they need. >> GIVE IT TO THE STORE MANAGER. The head of the store. >> The head of the store. I literally said that five times. I was coming back tomorrow to talk to the lady. I said that. I said that. And I said I was done talking. I'm not talking to y'all. I'm talking to your higher ups. >> They didn't want to talk to you. They needed the vest back. That was it. >> I said I was going to talk to their higher ups. It's nothing for me to to alliterate with them. Literally, >> all they wanted was the vest. >> Okay. And I told you, OKAY, BUT THEY WERE GOING TO GET THE VEST. If the LADY YELLING AT ME LETTING YOU TALK, CUZ there's nothing to talk about. It's nothing to talk about. And then you're if you're giving me a ticket, no need to book me for a ticket. You know how many tickets I didn't got? >> She showed no remorse and seemed completely unconcerned about her fate. Meanwhile, another group of officers met with the store's loss prevention staff to determine what had started the incident in the first place. >> Terminated and then once they get the the best in the handbag from her and she refused to do it and they give it and say that she was going to give it to her keys, but I told her it doesn't work that way. >> So, and that's when we ended up here. >> Yeah. Yeah. cuz then she stormed out of the room and >> Rob told her she like yelling or >> um it was quiet until we got to the back. >> So that's Yeah, that's when in the back room she started telling me that it ain't it ain't my property. It's not Walmart's property because this is from another Walmart. >> She's never worked at another Walmart she worked at. >> I'm going to go finish writing up her termination before I leave. Yeah, get that done. >> Well, and she wasn't listening to me. This is the exact reason why. >> The girl was charged with theft and disorderly conduct. Refusing to take responsibility only made the situation worse. What could have ended with a simple return of company property turned into criminal charges because of unnecessary defiance. Next, let's take a look at the ultimate victim act from this suspect. >> One more chance. >> I'm not going to murder rap you, officer. I'm not. Don't do this. She was pulling her arms away, doing anything she could, and then she'd act like she was going to fall. >> On the 19th of July, 2024, officers approached a woman as she pushed a shopping cart into the Homeland parking lot. Normally, that wouldn't have drawn much attention, except the entire cart was suspected of being unpaid merchandise. Here's what happened next. >> Hey, ma'am. >> You need to come with me real quick. >> Go ahead and stop for me for a second. Tell me what's going on. Nobody's trying to stop me. >> Nothing. Go ahead and turn around for me. >> No, sir. >> No. Yeah. Yeah. >> Why you stabbing me? >> Why you stabbing me, sir? >> Ma'am, >> why are you stabbing me? >> Well, because people are saying that you stole all this product, so I need to get to the bottom. >> Anything. Ma'am, >> there's no bags. >> Ma'am, I'm going to advise you one more time. >> Go ahead and put your hands behind your back so we can have a conversation. >> If not, I'm going to have to force you to. Okay. >> So, you're going to go >> I haven't done anything. >> Okay. Go ahead and put your purse down. >> Actually, my receipt. >> Okay. Well, I'll take a look at it in a second. For now, put your purse down. I'm not going to let you run away. >> I'm not let you, sir. I'm not going to run for I'm not going to run away. >> One more chance. >> I'm not I'm not going to run away from you, officer. I'm not. Don't do this. Okay. >> Although she repeatedly insisted she wasn't trying to run away. Her actions told a completely different story. In fact, her behavior only became more confrontational as the encounter escalated. >> I'm dead. >> I'm not going to run away from you. I'm going to guide you. Yes. >> Yes. I'm >> ma'am. Nobody. How many time I >> was trying not to on the ground actually silly. Roll over. >> Reload. Reload. >> [clears throat] >> 27. Close out my traffic stop. >> Build me another one in the same area for a shop. [clears throat] >> In a second. >> I can't breathe. >> I can't breathe. >> I can't breathe. >> Stand up. >> Yeah. Well, you tried to bite me, so shut up. >> Got to bite you. I would never do that. >> Thank you for being in the right spot at the right time. I thought they'd run out. The woman tried to portray herself as the victim. Although she pretended to cry for help, it didn't work because the witnesses at the scene weren't fooled. >> Get a statement about what you witnessed out there with the use of force. >> Um, so what did you see? >> The officer tried to detain her and she resisted arrest. >> Okay. Are you the one that flag them down? >> Yes. >> Okay. All right. >> Well, another customer also was yelling from here to get his attention, but I was following her. >> You followed her out there? Yeah, I was trying to call her to work and then he intercepted when she got to that side. >> So, what did she see? Like did he just grab onto her? Like what? >> Yeah. Well, he Yeah, he I think he grabbed the basket and then she >> she wanted to turn and then he grabbed her and she resisted and resisted. >> Okay. What was she doing? >> Fighting. He just like struggled. Resist. >> She like like doing that or was she like >> No, she did anything she could to stay out of his arms. Yeah, she was pulling her arms away and doing anything she could and then she'd act like she was going to fall and I can't breathe. And she was definitely resisting. >> Was she holding on to anything out there? >> Yeah, they bumped down that bumped into that. There was a black truck. It's not there now. Okay. >> But they bumped into it several times and she kept biting him and I I called 911. I said I I thought he needed backup, but I guess he had someone coming anyway. But >> Oh, yeah. There's much less. called and I said, "This [laughter] officer needs help with her on the ground wrestling because she resisted and he was taking her down. >> I got you." >> Because she was a fighter. >> So, the witnesses had already exposed the suspect's entire act. But investigators weren't done yet. They then spoke with the officer involved, revealing even more of the suspect's actions that would ultimately lead to additional charges. >> I was over here cuz I need a traffic stop. Um, heard people start yelling. I came over here to check it out and then I saw a lady walking up towards me with the basket. I noted in the basket there was no shot or there was no bags uh like had you gone through the scanner. Everybody uh people from Homeland I noted that she worked for Homeland. I saw her uniform. She said that lady didn't pay for anything. So I said, "Okay, ma'am. I'm going to continue. I'm going have to talk to you." Um she's like, "I paid for everything. I have the receipt." And I was like, "That's fine. I'll look at the receipt in a minute. For right now, I just need to I just need to talk to you." And I was trying to I grabbed onto her wrist because she looked like she was going to run. I had her uh elbow uh in this manner. I kept trying to pull her hand behind her back. She kept trying to twist the other way. I didn't really have anything to like push her up against to like maintain control of her. So, we're just kind of standing there like that for a second. Um I couldn't get to my radio to uh that stop. Both my hands were um tied up at the time. So, she tried to pull away from me and she tried to like run that way. I maintained control of her and I pushed her up against the truck. I was behind her. I was holding her arms behind the truck. This arm got loose. It was flapping around. I was trying to grab this wrist. I felt her head come this way and like lunging my arm. I saw her uh head come this way. I felt her teeth brush against my arm. I said, "Don't bite me." And then I wrapped my arm, this arm around her right arm in a half Nelson type thing. Now I put my hand on top of the back of her head to push her head away from this arm so I can try to get this arm. So does that make sense to you? >> Back with the suspect, she took her victim act even further, making the officer suspect she might be under the influence of something. He's alive. He's alive. Oh god. >> We got medical coming. >> Did you take anything today? >> I can't breathe. They're >> responding from We got medical coming. What will make you feel better? Sitting up. >> You don't know? >> Would you rather just say laying right there? >> Joy. >> Yes. >> Joy, how what's going to make you feel better? Is it setting up? What? Where's going? >> I'll wait till they get here. I got a photographer. >> Okay. >> That doesn't look very comfortable, Miss Joy. >> You want to sit up? >> Oh. Oh, God. >> Yeah. Let's set up. >> Watch your leg right there. Hey, easy, >> huh? >> The woman was charged with shoplifting, resisting an officer, interfering with an officer, assault and battery, assault and battery on a police officer, and obstructing an officer. No performance can change the [music] facts. Once the evidence and witness statements tell the same story, the truth becomes impossible to escape. Worse still, this woman ended up behind bars simply because her [music] order didn't turn out the way she wanted. THEY SAID SHE HANDS UP. Hands up. >> Can you tell the girls inside to come play my favorite song, please? I'm I'm stressed. >> On the 5th of May, 2026, officers responded to a Wendy's after a woman allegedly caused a disturbance [music] and threatened employees with a firearm because she was unhappy with her order. When they arrived, the situation remained highly tense. >> Right here, right here. >> She has a gun. >> Yes. Don't move. Do noting move. Let me see both your [ __ ] hands right now. Let me see both your hands now. >> I don't see a gun at this time. >> Don't reach. >> Watch. Crossfire. Put the window down. PUT THE WINDOW DOWN. >> PUT your Put your hands up. Put the window down. >> Put your hands >> Put the window down. Go. >> PUT THE WINDOW DOWN. >> LOCK THE DOOR. >> PUT THE WINDOW DOWN. PUT THE WINDOW DOWN. >> Keep the air clear. One at gunpoint. >> Put the window down. >> I got a window breaker. Hold her at gunpoint. >> Put the window. Put the window down. >> They said she HAD the car. >> Help. Help. Yep. >> Y'all hurting me. >> Wasn't listening. >> I'm pregnant. >> Tell you about it, right? >> I'm pregnant. I'm pregnant. Please. >> After the woman was handcuffed, she still showed no sign of acknowledging her wrongdoing. Instead, she began invoking [music] her rights as a citizen, causing the situation to escalate even further. >> Don't touch my car unless you have a WARRANT. >> YOU CLOSE MY DOOR NOW. >> OKAY. HOLD ON. WAIT, WAIT, WAIT. PLEASE, my elbow. I don't know yet. Just Just leave me right here for a second. I need to think. >> Can you tell the girls inside to come play my favorite song, please? I'm I'm stressed. >> I got a lot of stress going on. >> Oh my god. Do not take nothing of mine out my mother car if you don't have a mother warrant and everybody's mothering better had the up. I'ming pregnant and you guys are doing this to me. >> I need some water. >> I need some water. >> I need some water. >> I'm pregnant. You don't understand. And I have court 11 for my son. that you guys are doing this to me. What's wrong with you guys? >> This is Stop. This is Stop. >> She seemed to be seeking sympathy by talking about the pressures in her life, but in reality, it only made the officer's job more difficult. Moments later, she acted completely normal again and even behaved as though she had the authority to give orders to the police. Uh, if I have my shoes. >> Where are your shoes at? >> Um, I was trying to put it in there before you. My favorite are Crocs black like I like it. >> When you guys run out of station, >> can y'all look to make sure that don't touch in my car either cuz I'm going to remember everything. >> Okay. >> And it's being recorded. I recorded it. So, multiple cameras, different ways, different angles. So, make sure that everybody'sing story has up. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. Seven of y'all. How where's the rest? State your badge number and everything else. >> Um, are we waiting for EMS or what we doing already? >> Yeah. What are we doing? >> EMS. >> Yeah. Okay. >> What are we doing? Uh, can y'all shut the other side of my door because I didn't give y'all a warrant to open that mother. There's nobody else in the car. Shut the other side of mying door now. Okay. >> We're in a car or something. No, do not touch me. I'lling break it. >> You want your tongue, guys? >> You want your hands? >> Yes. Yes. Cuz I don't know if there's glass or not. >> We cleaned them already. All right. >> Sure thing. I'm going to be watching. >> Go on. >> Ow. >> Watch your head, ma'am. >> Watch your head. >> Don't touch my head. DON'T TOUCH MY HAND. DO NOT TOUCH MY HAIR. >> I'M TRYING TO GO. AFTERWARD, the medical team arrived to ensure she was in good health, but she showed little concern for her own condition, making it far more difficult for them to provide the help she needed. >> What's her in you, honey? >> Right there. >> She does have a laceration on those on those legs. >> Yeah, on the ankle right there. I saw that scratch. >> Mhm. >> Right on. Right in where? >> My elbow. >> No, >> don't touch it though. >> Okay. You want me to touch it? >> Yeah. Don't touch it. >> Do you want us to clean it out or No, >> no, I want to clean it out. I just want pictures of everything. >> So, I can't take pictures on my phone. >> So, who can? >> You can take pictures on your phone, but let me go get it then. >> Uh, the officers can go around. >> What are you doing with that? >> Um, there's like 24 hours. >> A white and a black phone. >> I can't take nothing out of your vehicle cuz they're going to take it for a search. >> Take for everything that's in there. They also do have all their body cams going and you can see >> we do have all these ones >> and that's all you can >> it's all doc I know your getting nothing >> I know for sure lacerations are on my video >> huh >> your last the cuts on your legs I know they're on my video >> and once you get to the hospital the hospital can take pictures of all >> yeah they can over there >> and you have documents and everything >> it just we have personal cell phones and because you're a patient it's a HIPPA violation for us to take pictures on our personal cell phones of your injuries outside of like a >> Okay. So, what I want you guys to go do is go get um one of the girls in there because I they forgot my receipt. >> So, we're not worried about your receipt. >> Well, I am because I need it. >> Okay. >> I don't care what y'all worried about. I'm not actually worried if I'm okay or not. And I just told the all these mother I was pregnant. So, obviously, it's a problem. >> So, no, we're here to take you to the hospital. >> Yeah, but I don't even really like hospital. So, and I don't have no number or anything. Soon afterward, she was taken to the police station. Disappointingly, she still showed no sign of remorse. Instead, she even appeared oddly pleased, almost as if she was enjoying the moment. >> Make sure it's the right one, [laughter] >> [ __ ] boy, cuz if the stories don't add up, it's for you. Y'all going to be uped up. Give me Jed up. I'm go get you extra bag. Yeah. Run that serial number, [ __ ] boy. Yeah. Hi. Make sure your story lines. Make sure your story lines. Make sure your story lines. Can I speak to a therapist? Can I get a therapist? Can I get a therapist? Let me pick up that napkin. So, at least we store [ __ ] it. >> Are you done being childish? You going to pick it up now? I'm being serious as [ __ ] Hurry up. Hurry up. >> Put it in the front. This is the last time we're doing this. Ninja. Yeah, I know. Oh god. Okay. Oh god. Yes. Like, come on, man. >> Right. Stop playing [ __ ] old games. Come here. Sit up. All right. Come on. Pick up the napkin, please. >> Yes. >> Let Let her get a drink and she's going back in the bar. >> You can put in the trash over there. Put Put it back in the bar. >> Okay. >> The woman was charged with [music] resisting arrest, obstructing justice, aggravated menacing, and unlawful use of a firearm. Never let anger or excuses justify threatening others because one reckless decision can quickly lead to far more serious criminal charges. Next, this woman believed she owned the entire store. >> Put your hand behind your back. >> Sir, my >> Stop pulling away. Put your hand behind your back. Yes. You want to speak to us? >> Yeah. I am the owner of the store, sir. >> I I don't I don't think YOU ARE. >> YEAH, I AM THE OWNER OF the store. On the 15th of April 2026, police were called to a local Walmart after loss prevention spotted a familiar face, a known retail theft offender who seemed to treat the store like her own personal pantry. Surveillance cameras captured her moving comfortably through the meat section, tossing merchandise into her cart without a second glance at the price tags. She then headed to the selfch checkckout, pulling a classic move, skip scanning several items, and paying for only a fraction of her haul. Little did she know, the police already had a surprise waiting for her at the exit. Let me see right here. No, you didn't. >> Ma'am, Beach Police Department. >> Oh, I passed her everything. >> No, you didn't. No, you didn't. Yes, I did. >> No, you didn't. Drop the bag. >> No, I passed her everything. Put your hands behind your back, >> sir. My >> Stop pulling away. Put your hands behind your back. >> My son. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> I paid for everything. >> No, you didn't. We watched. >> Yes, I did. >> Sir, MY SON IS AT HOME. STOP RESISTING. >> OKAY. I hit on my receipt right here. >> You resist. >> Okay. My seat right here. Okay. My seat right here. >> I pay for everything. >> I pay for everything. My son's at home. I paid for everything. >> I don't know what your son at home got to be with us. >> I pay for I pay for everything. hand. >> Yeah. >> The scheme was incredibly simple. Pay for just enough merchandise to get a receipt and use that piece of paper as a get out of jail free card. That receipt was exactly what she relied on to justify her actions. But as the officers pressed her, the woman's denial turned out to be even more shameless than the crime itself. >> Okay. With those rights in mind, you wish to speak to us. >> OKAY. MY KEY IS RIGHT THERE. >> NO. YES. You want to speak to us? >> Yeah. I am the owner of the store, sir. I I don't I don't think YOU ARE. >> YEAH, I AM THE owner of the store. I'm the owner of the store. >> No. >> Yes, I am. >> Really? What happened with the the selfch checkout? >> MY RECEIPT IS RIGHT THERE. >> Why are you still yelling? >> She own. >> We don't have to yell. >> I'm talking to you in that >> Okay. My receipt is right there, sir. >> Indoor voice. Indoor voice. >> My receipt is right there. I'm the owner. I'm getting closer. Okay. I didn't steal anything. >> We're getting closer. Almost an indoor voice. >> I didn't steal anything. My receipt is right there. >> Okay. Cuz we we we got you on video. >> OKAY. CAN YOU LET ME out of here? My son is at home. >> I don't I I DON'T CARE. >> BUT MY RECEIPT IS RIGHT THERE, SIR. >> Why are you yelling again? >> All of my stuff is on there. >> So, you think a reasonable person believes that that cart full of meat and stuff is worth $100? >> Listen, >> we're listening cuz >> they kept COMING FROM A POINT. THEY KEPT COMING. THEY KEPT coming and doing, "Okay, THAT'S MY THAT'S MY STUFF, SIR. I CAN SEE." >> YEAH. You're going to be able to take what you have now. She showed absolutely zero remorse, acting with a level of entitlement that made it seem like she owned the entire store. But the cops weren't buying her attitude, especially as they continued pulling unpaid merchandise straight out of her personal bag. >> Good middle name. >> B. I mean, A. Uh-uh. >> A or B? What's your middle name? >> Nobody. A >> I feel like this someicious information. >> Okay. Can you My son get home. Can you um >> No. This is going to take a little bit. It's going to take a while. You're under arrest. >> OKAY. I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING. SORRY. >> How old is your son? Stop yelling. I don't know what's wrong with you. You have issues. I'm telling you not to yell. I do not understand why you're yelling. How old is your son? Do we need to go check on him? >> No. You um definitely need to go check on >> How old is he? >> Can you tell um someone to come and get him? >> Sure. How old is he? >> He's only He's only 11 years old. But that's all OF MY STUFF. I PAID for it. >> I'm just going >> Oh, and I can't see cuz y'all put in my eyes and stuff. I cannot see cuz y'all put [ __ ] in my eyes and [ __ ] one. >> Where does she live? So we can have her such >> northwest or northeast. >> Northwest. What's the directions? >> Don't um um I'm not giving you guys any directions. Can you just call her? >> No problem. We'll figure it out. >> Can you call her? >> No, don't worry about it. You're good. >> I think too but that's all of my stuff. Sorry. That's all my stuff. What's your middle name? >> I just Oh, that's that's my baby daddy. >> That's your baby daddy? 290. >> When tallied up, the stolen merchandise was valued at exactly $292.34, an amount she likely believed would keep her safely below the felony threshold. As things turned out, she miscalculated. Once officers ran her record and realized this was far from her first offense, a simple misdemeanor quickly turned into a much bigger problem. >> Who's that? >> I mean, what do you mean? What do you need? >> Can you clear for it? >> Because You're going to jail. >> No, I didn't do anything. So, can y'all just No, we're well past that. >> Okay. Can you tell her TO PUT OKAY. I DIDN'T I DIDN'T TAKE ANYTHING. I CAN First of all, >> WE'RE WELL PAST THAT. >> I JUST ABOUT YOUR CHILD. >> OKAY. I cannot see. >> Okay. >> Oh, that's don't look like you're not the Walton family. You silly >> dude. >> You're so silly. >> I don't know. I don't know how to do it. >> You don't know? >> No. I had going on. >> I need information about her in order to do that. >> My name is I had number 61 six um six >> miss. This is not the part you want to play around with. Unless you want your child to be taken by DCF. So, time to be serious. >> You had a case on me. >> No, you didn't have a case on me. >> You didn't have no case on me. Go here. store number and switch this [ __ ] to last year. >> I wasn't in here last year. >> Well, you bought it a year ago, so >> no change. >> Change this. >> While you were here, >> so while you were here, I'm dead. Meet the owner of Walmart, Miss >> Beverly. >> Okay, I didn't do nothing. Let me out of here. >> Escorted to the back of the patrol car, she still showed no sense of reality. Instead, she sat there arrogantly shaking her leg, stubbornly believing that she was still in a position to make demands of the officers. >> Bryson, right? >> Yeah, >> he was there. >> Okay. Can you call? Can you call >> Can you listen to me? >> No. Can you call this person so that you can >> You can either listen to me or you don't >> from over there. Okay. I mean, what's the problem? You already said that you was taking me to jail. >> I'm trying to help you out with your kids to steal. >> Sir, can y'all just trespass me at the store? I didn't take anything out the store. >> All right. So, you know Mariah? >> Yeah. >> Mariah's coming to grab them. >> Okay. >> Okay. Is that okay? >> Hell no. >> Yeah, that's fine. >> Okay. That isn't my refund. The original purchase is everything. Okay. I didn't take no food in there. The original purchase is everything. I didn't take no food, sir. I didn't take no food off of there. That's not the original p purchase. They owe me $180 something dollars. >> In the end, the woman was charged with felony retail theft involving two or more prior theft convictions and resisting an officer without violence. On the 5th of May 2026, she was released on her own recgnizance under specific conditions. The court record reflects that these release terms included mandatory mental health evaluations, compliance with medical treatments, and competency restoration classes as the case continued through the judicial process. Arrogance can make people believe they are smarter than everyone else, but repeated wrongdoing eventually catches up with them. The more confident someone becomes in getting away with theft, the harder the consequences can hit when reality finally catches up. Next, meet the shoplifter and her surprise that await behind. >> You want us to go and make contact with her, right? >> Yeah, I'm with the officer. >> You're you're with the officer now? >> Yes. >> How? >> We going We're going to work it out. You say you didn't. >> In July 2024, police responded to a call from Walmart regarding a theft in progress. Upon arriving at the scene, store staff quickly showed officers what the surveillance cameras had captured. >> I'm with the officer. >> You're wanting us to go and make contact with her, right? >> Yeah, I'm with the officer. >> You're you're with the officer now? >> Yes. >> Okay, then I'll let you talk to him. Okay. >> All right. I appreciate your help so much. Appreciate >> that. She going with the with the pink pants and the gray shirt. You're talking about with the gray with the pink pants. All right. She coming out of this side. >> Yeah. Coming out. Hey ma'am, I need you to come with me. >> What? >> Where you guys right now? Suspension and shot lifting. Just go ahead and come with me this way. >> How? >> September 20th. >> Just go ahead and come with me. We'll work it out. >> Okay. >> How? >> We going We going to work it out. You say you did it with us. >> What was the outcome of that moment that was done by >> I did what now? >> Negative contact. >> What did I do? >> All this night. >> I didn't steal it. >> We watched you. >> How? >> Ma'am, being loud is not going to help. >> I went to the Oh my god. >> Do you guys you got ID on you? >> I don't. >> No ID, no nothing. Nothing identification anything like that. Do me a favor. >> Yes, I do. >> The woman's shocked reaction was clear. Having seen her actions captured on camera, she appeared visibly unsettled and somewhat unstable. >> This side or the other side? >> If somebody isn't I'm telling you right now, if somebody isn't in this car, that's that's going to be an additional charge. So, you need to tell us the truth right now exactly where this car is so we can check welfare on the child. >> Okay, >> go ahead. Turn around. >> Go ahead. Turn around right now. Turn around right now. Turn around. Put your hands on your back. Before I search you, do you have anything in your pockets that's going that's going to stink me, poke me, hurt me? Anything like that? >> You positive? >> Have a ma'am. Just right now, let me handle my business, ma'am. Just go ahead. Just just let your stock >> answer your radio. >> 29 cent. >> Okay. Are you >> I am >> on normal response. >> I guess it got turned down. >> Oh, no. It's fine. I mean >> I mean we need to let somebody know that you're going >> Oh, no. It's fine. >> We just need to make sure there's baby. >> Yeah. No, we need No, we have to take her. >> No, we don't need to be in the car. >> So, no in the vehicle. >> Have a seat. Have a seat. >> She's not in the car. The police suspected that the woman had not come alone. So to ensure safety, they sought to verify this through her statements. >> I want y'all to talk to her. >> You heard what I said. Okay. Okay. >> We need to check out forever child. She >> not there. She's not She's not in the house. >> Man, you told me earlier somebody somebody's in the car. >> She's not in the car. I just said that. She's not there. Um >> that's your house over here. No, it's a um I'm trying to I >> This is the reason why I'm not letting y'all think this. >> They don't want my ke. >> Yeah, cuz my granddaughter is at um a friend of mine house and she's only 3 years old and I wouldn't have brought her up here. >> So, you left her with a stranger for >> 129 29. All right. If your if your grandchild is in this car, you need to tell me. So, >> I promise. >> So, nobody's in this car. Then we have to go checkmise. And we have to check. >> I promise. >> If I have to check every car, I promise you I'm doing every charge I can think of. >> At this point, the police allowed her to make a call home. And surprisingly, she spoke openly about her actions, showing no shame, as if she expected that her wrongdoing was already known. >> That's what he was telling you. Mr. talking to you. >> Guess who I'm riding with? You can >> answer. Officer can help you. >> Yes, she walked around. >> Hey, I've gotten caught stealing. Teresa >> started concealing items using her cell. >> Yeah, I got caught stealing. >> Have you been arrested for shopping before? >> Right here. >> How many times? >> How many times? Well, we need to know [laughter] if I can tell you about getting you out or not. >> But um long time ago, maybe >> he's claiming once again that this woman. [clears throat] >> Who'd you ride with here? >> Meresa. >> Okay. What What car does Mr. Teresa drive? >> It's a a gray What is that? A Ford. Uh it's like a van. >> Like a van. Like a minivan or like a van van? >> Like a a mini. >> Did you smoke meth or crack? >> Crack. >> Before you came up here. >> Before you came up here. >> Yes, you did. >> No. >> Well, okay. Well, >> before you came up here. >> No. >> Well, that that that's before you came up here. >> I I only pipe in there. That's all. It's all pipe pack. >> You got your gloves on. >> Some gloves behind. It's a box behind you. >> Oh, yeah. Sure. >> Yeah. >> We got these food service. >> Shortly after, the police conducted a search of the woman's bag, and it soon became apparent that they had found the source of her unsettled behavior. >> Yeah, I saw that. >> You got some holes in it. You might have some more problems over here, pun. money. Yep, there he is. >> All right, cool. I just Let's just button it up. >> Okay. Uh, that might fall out. Um, let me run to the car and grab a >> Yeah, if you got a bag or anything. I don't know what it is. I don't want you to pull it out. >> I was able to just clamp it and I'm just going to keep it in the purse. >> Well, the the purse got so many damn I mean dang holes in it. I'm scared it might fall out. Yeah. >> It's been up a little bit. >> Or I can close it up in a glove maybe, but >> I'm not sure what it is either. >> Oh my god. >> It looks like a piece of crack. >> I'm just going to roll it up in this glove until we get get back. >> Looks like a piece of crack. >> It is. >> Well, I appreciate you being honest, man. >> That does help. I'm just going to drop this stuff in here. >> Hey, just be careful. She said that what it is, but if it's something else, I don't want you to >> even tell. >> Putting aside the presence of contraband in her bag, the store had also made a decision regarding the consequences she would face based on her wrongdoing. >> Tracy, just so you know what's going on, you're being um Walmart is prosecuting today against you for shoplifting because the amount um as well as you're being trespassed. What that means, you're being trespassed against all Walmarts, all Sam's Clubs, all neighborhood markets. You can't even step into the parking lot. Okay. >> When he called when he talked to the other lady, did she say she was out there? >> The Teresa lady when she >> I couldn't tell what she was saying cuz she was trying to talk. >> I got caught stealing. >> Hold on. You think so? >> Was she wearing a bonnet? A black lady? >> She didn't have a bonnet on. Pajama pants. >> Cuz there's a lady standing out there right there. And then when she saw me walking up, she disappeared. >> I'm assuming they probably >> connect and do. >> No. >> What is your name? >> Where you from? >> Florida. >> What you doing today? I've been >> enjoying the weather. I've been here a long time. >> Where you stay at here? >> Savannah Apartments. >> Savannah Apartments. Are you going to go ahead and charge for this? Yeah. Yeah. You're going this. Let me ask you this right now. Okay. Just so we can clear the air. Okay. Do you have anything else on your person that we need to know [music] about? Especially like like this right here. Okay. Nothing tucked up in your pockets. Nothing tucked up under any undergarments, anything like that. Okay. All right. Cuz you understand that once you cross a guard line, it it becomes a felony if you're in possession of it. Okay. It's another charge. You understand that? >> You don't want to catch two felonies or more today. I need you to be honest. >> The woman's indifferent attitude clearly showed a complete lack of remorse. Even in the patrol car, her carefree, almost erratic behavior remained evident. >> Hey, could I ask a question? >> Yes. >> Huh? >> You say you got a question? What's your question? >> Would you please not charge me with that thing? >> I got to do my job. You got to understand, I got a job to do, right? >> Yeah. It's not I don't I don't know you just like you said in there. The reason why cuz you mentioned you know I was talking to you a certain way when it comes I don't play about kids. You know what I mean? >> Yeah. I was just talking I wouldn't have brought my granddaughter up here for nothing in the world. >> Understand where I'm coming from. When you say >> when you say it's a kid in the car then you going to jail. My I'm like no I I'm going to protect the kids. So nothing don't take it personal. I'm not I'm not out to get you. I could care less honestly. You know what I mean? But when it comes down to the welfare every child I'm >> Yeah. I wouldn't have brought her out here. >> And then when you not telling me now it's like now I'm getting you going, you know, you going to upset me. >> Mhm. Yeah. I would have done that. >> That would have come down to >> Yeah, I would have done that. >> Yeah. Just be just be honest up front. Even when I ask you, is there anything you have on you when I search you? >> I didn't have anything on me. >> You have been, hey, I got this. >> Yeah, I didn't have anything on me. The woman was charged with shoplifting, possession of a controlled substance for having crack in her bag, and trespassing with initial concerns of child endangerment due to her inconsistent statements about her grandchild. Trying to deceive authorities or act carelessly can quickly escalate [music] minor theft into multiple serious charges and can draw scrutiny that puts others like children at reext. These shoplifterss from an illegal Venezuelan migrant group prove to be NO BETTER. THAT'S ALL RIGHT, [ __ ] [laughter] >> My phone is my phone. >> You speak English now. >> On the 11th of March, 2025, police received a report from a shopping mall about a theft that had just occurred. The suspects were believed to be a group of Venezuelans who had fled with armfuls of unpaid clothing. Moments later, a tense pursuit unfolded as officers raced to track them down. Give up now. >> Good boy. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Okay. >> Yeah. OKAY. >> OKAY. >> SURE. YEAH. >> YEAH. Where's the team? die. >> There's still one more in there. >> Yeah. Uh I think we got >> two three. >> Huh? >> We still have any more standing. We waiting for you, boy. Huh? True. Huh? >> No. >> The suspects were determined to have scattered immediately after their theft had succeeded, forcing police to split into multiple teams to track down and capture them ONE BY ONE. >> PUT THEM UP. >> YOU guys got him over there by the parking lot. >> No, no, no, no. Put them up. >> Get down. Get down. Send your man. >> Sorry, man. You know, sorry. No, no, man. >> Radio 9341. I got one detain here in front of Jerry. >> Hi, friend. You know, you know, >> shut up. >> Be quiet. Be quiet. >> Get over here. >> Okay. You know, >> I know you don't know. >> My friends, >> don't play with me. >> I know you know my friend. No. Where's your boy? >> Where's your boy? >> No. >> Okay. Stay where you're at. >> I got him, guys. I appreciate it. >> My phone. >> My phone. You speak English now. Hey, >> the other one took off. The third one? >> Yeah, the the other one just took off. Yeah. >> Clearly, they fully understood English, but deliberately used the language barrier as an excuse to avoid revealing the whereabouts of the third suspect. Shortly afterward, both arrested suspects were transported to the police station for further questioning. >> Okay. Please, >> do you understand the rights that I read and that you had in front of you? >> Compendo. Did you compendo? >> No English. >> Okay. That's why this is in Spanish. Here you compendo. >> Yes. >> You understand? >> No. Hey. You ask why you guys have that individual? >> Yeah, Nordstrom Rex. They just stole like a ton of merchandise. It was about three males. >> Just Just the only person you got. >> Uh we got another one, but we are missing one. And he looked like he drove off in the car. >> All right. No compreh [laughter] >> The suspects were separated for individual interviews and with the help of translation tools, the language barrier posed no challenge for the officers. At that point, they began questioning them about everything. >> Is the merchandise you guys took in the car or did you throw it somewhere? >> Where are you from? >> Do you have any immigration hearings set up? How much did you guys take from the store? And I actually eat seven shirts and treasure. >> You You took that from the store. >> Three of them. >> Seven. >> Seven. [snorts] >> Shorts. >> Three. >> Three. >> Three shorts. Seven shorts. >> Yo. shoes. >> One piece of one shoes. Okay. >> Any of the stuff you're wearing from the store and all the items you took are in the car. >> This auto? >> No. >> [laughter] >> The suspects were ultimately charged with retail fraud and theft. Never assume a language barrier will protect you from accountability. Investigators can use translation tools and other evidence to uncover the truth, making honesty and responsibility far better choices than deception. Next, this woman escalated the situation even further. Not today. >> I only got a pack of that because they stole them from me. >> On the 17th of December 2025, police were dispatched to a store after receiving a report that a woman had stolen multiple packs of cigarettes. She was also believed to have left the scene with a man in a white van. Here's what happened next. >> So, what happened? >> Okay, I have it on the camera back here if you want to go back. All right. >> And she asked for a case of Swisser sweets, which I said I only have a 15 pack. >> Mhm. >> And then she asked for two cards in Newport Schwarz. Do you want these two? They came in together. >> Okay. >> I don't know if he took anything. I believe they were in a short van with no windows. >> What color? >> White. All white. Looks You know how the little work bands? >> Yeah, I think I know who that is. They live off Tree Bridge. >> Um the guy driving was a light-skinned black kid, curly hair. There was this white passenger. Nope. I think they jumped in the side of it. >> Can you just run that back a little bit? >> Yeah. Sorry. >> Based on the information provided by the store, officers located the white van in a nearby area. As soon as the suspect noticed the police, she immediately became alarmed and took off running, triggering a foot pursuit. >> You come here. >> Yes, you. Don't do it. >> Come here. >> Hello. >> Come here. >> Cuz you. >> Why? 3894. >> Why me? >> Pursuit. Black female green shirt. >> Not today. >> I cannot breathe. >> Don't move. >> I cannot breathe. >> Don't move. >> Oh my goodness. >> Oh my god. >> I'm going TO GET IT AGAIN. STOP. >> STOP, >> BRO. OW. STOP. >> Stop moving. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> OH MY GOD. I'M not going nowhere. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Stop breathing. >> Put your hands behind YOUR BACK. I'M NOT [ __ ] HURTING. PLEASE, SIR. Give me the water. >> Put your hand behind your back. >> I CAN'T BREATHE. >> PUT YOUR HAND BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> I CAN'T BREATHE. >> PUT YOUR HAND BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> I can't breathe. Please, sir. I can't breathe. Oh my god. I cannot >> STOP RESISTING. PUT YOUR hands behind you back. Now, >> you should know that resisting only escalated the situation significantly, and the woman's actions had just proven exactly that. At this point, the officers tried to calm her down and persuade her to cooperate. >> Leave them down. Sit up. All right. >> Don't stand up. Stay right there. I got you. >> Lean up against >> Don't stand up. Just lay right here. >> Just stay there. Why'd you run? Because >> this was a misdemeanor. >> What? >> And you turned it into this [ __ ] >> Please let me go. Please. >> No. >> Please, sir. >> No. >> Please. >> If you hadn't ran, I would have. >> Please, sir. >> No. Absolutely not. >> You stole the sigs. >> Oh, no, I didn't. >> No, I didn't. >> All right. The ones on the floor. >> No, those are not m those are mine. >> You need gloves or anything? >> I didn't steal anything. >> Stop. >> I didn't steal anything. Whose ass don't cigarette? >> You're on camera, girl. You just did it. Here. >> Hold on. So, I'm just moving around. >> Yeah. Okay. >> What's wrong? >> No, not talking to you. >> This is crazy, bro. This is really crazy. >> Oh, don't steal, >> sir. >> Don't steal. And then you won't. And don't run from the cops. Ironically, after everything she had done following her attempt to flee, she acted as though she had no memory of stealing the cigarettes. >> You said what? >> At the tent. >> They saw her leaving the white van that's always here. >> Who? >> The store clerk that you just stole from. >> I'm serious. >> Yeah. Well, now you're going to jail. Don't steal. Don't run. >> Stealing. Don't run. Says I'm missing. Why? >> It was until you kicked me. >> I didn't kick you. Yes, you did. You were resisting violently and you kicked me in my chest. I swear to God, I don't want no resisting. >> That's what happens when you resist. >> Yo, bro, baby, >> you got live to fight another day. >> Live to fight another day. >> But I'm too fast. >> All right, I'm going to get these probes out you. Okay, what I want you to do, what's your first name? What's your name? What's your name? >> You got to ID yourself or you're going to get another charge. Okay. >> All right. Lean up against my car. Do not move or else this is going to hurt really bad. >> Okay. >> That one's >> You got it. >> Nope. That one's in really deep. >> Lift up your arms for me. >> No. Okay. After repeated questioning by the officers, she eventually admitted to what she had done, but in a manner that showed little genuine remorse. >> Sir, please, sir. Please, please, please. >> Was it Was it just the cigarettes? >> Yes, that's it. Sir, please. >> Why'd you run? >> Because I It's just me. They had drugs over there. I didn't want to be in trouble. >> You what? >> I mean, like, come on. >> Everybody back there is holding dope. We know that. >> I don't care. I was here. I didn't know that. And I didn't I didn't >> I was here to give you a court date >> and I didn't know that. If you if you had done what I asked cuz I walked up and said, "Hey, come here." >> And I thought and I'm thinking like you're like >> and you duck you ducked. >> Yeah. Because >> And then you took off front and then you got tased. How'd that feel? Like >> first time. >> Yeah. It sucks. >> Please can you record it? Please. I promise. Help me. Help me. Please right now. Please. I have stuff from Please. >> Have a seat. Chad in a minute. We'll get some AC going for you. >> Please. >> Anything in your socks? >> No. >> Pick them up. >> Am I? >> Yes. >> Please help me. Help me. >> Oh, no. Please, please, please. >> All right, let the fire department check you out. Okay, >> please. I don't want the fire department to check you. >> You have to. If you get tased, you have to get shot. >> I'm sorry. I'm okay. Please give me another chance. Please, please. I have a baby. Oh my god. I just had a baby. I didn't mean to. >> It's not personal. I I forgive you. >> I don't want to go to jail. Please. >> Just taser clearance. >> Okay. >> I'm going to pull my car around. >> Where did you get hit with the taser? Hello. Mon'nique was charged with retail theft, resisting an officer with violence, battery on a law enforcement officer, providing a false name to law enforcement, and violation of probation due to an outstanding warrant. A minor theft can quickly turn into far more serious criminal charges when someone chooses to flee, resist arrest, assault an officer, or lie about their identity. Cooperating with law enforcement and accepting responsibility early can prevent a situation from escalating and avoid additional legal conv. >> Okay. And you still tried to steal stuff. >> On the 14th of March 2024, officers approached a woman as she prepared to leave with a large amount of merchandise she had concealed during hours of shopping. At that moment, she repeatedly acted evasively and suspiciously, refusing to cooperate with every request from the officers. >> Come on. What's your name? >> I have it. Now, we w we've been watching you for 4 hours. You're going to cooperate. What's your name? >> Sharon. >> Sharon? What? >> I'm not out with Sharon. >> What's your date of birth? >> I said you guys before my name. >> Pull over here. Pull over here. We've been watching you. Stop. >> Go in this office. >> I didn't have any. >> Go in this office. What's your date of birth, Sharon? >> Why are you not the police with me? >> I am the police. Go in here. >> Go in here. What's your date of birth? >> Stop. >> I'm just going in. >> No, you can't go in in that. Go over here. Just go sit down a bit. Hold on. Hold on. >> By this point, you could already see that her pants were soaking wet. On top of that, she was accused of bizarre behavior, including picking food up off the floor and eating it on the spot. She also carried a bottle of ammonia and allegedly rubbed it on herself, creating an overwhelming stench that made everyone around her uncomfortable. >> We got her sitting on a trash bag. >> You didn't put it out. >> She's been sweating cuz she's been sitting in this thing for 4 hours. >> I think it's also bleeding spray or some kind of >> She's got something in this bottle. Gross. >> What's in this bottle? This clear bottle. What's in there? >> I don't know about this. >> No. Zach. >> What is No. No. What is that? >> Okay. It's What? >> I go in here. Go and sit down. Go sit down. Go sit on the back. >> Am I over been rubbing it on her? And >> yeah, >> she Do you have any drugs on you or anything? >> No. >> Well, have a seat. Have a seat. >> Get your hands out of your pockets, man. >> Jesus Christ. >> It smells bad. Sorry. >> It's okay. >> Sit down and take your purse off for us. Take your purse off. >> Take your purse off of your neck and hand it to this officer. Oh, give me that hat. Did she pay for the hat? >> No. >> Here you go. >> Sit down. >> Sit down, Sharon. >> What can I >> He's already borrowed from here. >> What can I do? >> Time for an April. So, I don't I don't know if she's got anything, but >> Well, if she did, it's on the floor. Is that rice? >> I don't know. >> Is it what? >> I think it's rice. It's all in the bottom of this. >> Sit down. I'm not going to ask you again. >> She can't take the food with her. She put a tag on it. >> Yeah, she's That is dirty. But that that she put that hat on over her hat. It didn't stop there. Officers quickly confirmed that this was not the first time the woman had committed an offense at Walmart. >> She was 2023. >> I went from that store if I came. >> What? >> Where? >> Yeah, you're barred until May 2025. You can't even be in the store. Have you ever been arrested for shoplifting? >> She was um a passenger in a vehicle. >> Oh, I stopped her last time. Emily, it was that it was her. >> I told you. >> I guess we were right. So, we checked her criminal history. She went to jail that day, too, right? >> Yeah. >> So, it's going to be a misdemeanor. >> Uh-huh. >> Let me check it. I'm pretty sure it's >> sit down. >> I'm going to the store. >> No, you're not going back in the store. >> Huh? >> What' you say? I wasn't the store. I I can I can make a hat. >> Okay. That's not I can put a lot of stuff back. >> Okay. And you still tried to steal stuff. doesn't mean anything. Doesn't change it. Whether it's one thing or 12 things, you still tried. >> She completely ignored the wrongdoing she had committed. She showed no remorse whatsoever. And even after being handcuffed, she still believed she could somehow change the outcome. >> Throw it on the ground. We'll figure it out. Yeah. >> I don't want you to touch it. >> Put your hands behind your back. You're already barred from now. And you're you you took a bunch of stuff you didn't pay for and you just got stopped not re >> Can I say can I get my money back for that? >> What? We're going to deal with that. But you're not the stuff you paid for that that's not perishable we'll take with you and turn over to the jail. >> What? >> Stay still. >> Yeah. >> Stop. >> Cuz I'll I'll get all the stuff from them later. Like I said, since I watched her, I'm actually the one. Stay right here. >> We're going to get all your stuff. If you want to take her out to your car and search her, we'll get all this. >> Let's go. >> 295. >> Come on. >> I'm trying to figure out what I steal. >> They already took it back. Go >> for this car. >> I trying to figure out what did I steal. I didn't steal. >> Okay. That they said that you did. They have it on video. >> I didn't. Okay. >> I told you the hat I >> Okay, we're not arguing about it. lean against where it says 911. You got anything else on you? Stop digging smoke a cigarette. >> No. >> In the end, the woman was charged with shoplifting and criminal trespass. A second chance only has value if you choose to change. Repeating the same mistakes while refusing to accept responsibility can turn a minor offense into far more serious legal consequences. >> Okay, stay here. Put your hand behind your back. >> Okay. >> Stop right here. Hey, wait. Don't want my coat. >> On December 7th, 2024, officers were dispatched to a Baby Gap store after receiving reports of two women involved in shoplifting. This was what happened next. >> Two black females. One is wearing green leggings and a green patterned jacket. She has a black shopping bag that she is putting items into. The other female's black female black outfit, white beanie. She is currently in the corner of the store. She also has a bag. A known description of that bag. They're both removing heart tags from items. for you guys taking the the stuff off of the clothes? >> No, I have this already. I'm holding this. I'm going to buy. >> Okay. So, they called and described you guys for nothing. >> We just got here. >> Yep. I know. Come here, ma'am. >> Come here. >> All right. Just set it down here. >> Okay. >> Stay here. >> Come here. >> We don't have anything. Sir, >> come here. >> We don't have anything. >> Okay. You're not leaving. >> Don't touch me. >> You're not leaving. You're being detained right now. >> Put it back. Put it back. We don't have anything. >> I need IDs for both of you. >> I don't have IDs. >> Well, you're going to find something with her name on it. >> However, the woman clearly showed her irritation at the encounter. And even though their personal information was disclosed, it still seemed difficult to prove anything. >> All right. What's your first name? >> Kia. K I A. >> Last name? >> Thompson. T H O M P S O N >> Middle initial >> T >> date of birth >> 821 92 >> How old are you? >> 32. What's >> your current address? >> 5 822 North 71st Street. >> Where's that at? >> Milwaukee, Wisconsin. All right. What's your first name? >> J A Z M O N Roby. R O B Y. >> Look, thank you. Y'all come getting us and these people running out the stores with stuff like real. >> Okay, stay here. >> I am. I'm not going over. >> No, you're going to stay over here. >> Go ahead, Jasmine. She give me her name. >> What's your middle initial? >> N. >> And right there. >> Date of birth. 7996. >> It seemed the women cooperated and followed the officer's instructions, but one of them repeatedly drifted away from the police, forcing the officer to issue a warning. >> Stop walking away >> cuz my phone is ringing. >> I don't care. You don't have to walk away to answer your phone. >> Hello. >> Well, I am in your business because >> All right. What's your address over here? >> 555 street. >> 55 55 >> North 6. No. 55 55 55 55 55 North 62nd. >> That's Milwaukee. >> Yes. >> All right. >> So, why did they call us? >> Um I don't sure >> we're not sure. We gave We had stuff. We put it back. So, why can't you let us go? >> Okay. Well, they said you're taking the the tags off of it. >> We didn't take >> the security things off. >> No, we didn't take no tags off. Sorry. Wrong person. >> Hello. >> Hello. So, you guys just took everything out when I got here? >> Yes. >> But you guys work concealing it? >> No. >> Stay over here. >> I'm cold for >> Stop. >> Okay. Stand over here. >> Why is we still right here? We don't have anything. >> Stand over here because I'm still investigating it. I haven't I haven't talked to the the witnesses because every time I walk away from you, you start walking away. Stay there >> until the other officer gets here, I have to stay here and >> hold you here. >> The denials continued repeatedly, but the store employees told a very different story. >> I think she just put the hard in her jacket in her boob area. >> What did you just put in your coat? >> Me? >> Yes. >> I have nothing in my AirPods. I just my earpods in my coat, sir. >> Did you just put the magnet thing in your your coat? >> No, I have my AirPods that's in my coat, sir. >> I don't have my magnet thing. >> Okay, stand over here so you're not hindering other customers that are paying for their stuff. >> Okay. >> Yeah. So, they she was removing cars. I can show you where they might be. >> Okay. >> [ __ ] be talking. >> She grabbed a handful of items. Here's one of them. Um, she grabbed a handful of items and then she came over here. She deflected them on the other side of that wall, came over here and was looking around and that's when she started taking the hard off. >> And which one was taking the heart tags off? >> The girl that's giving you >> the store's accusations alone were clear enough to point toward guilt and police took action, but it was obvious the women were not going to make it easy. >> Here, come here. >> What? Cuz I'm moving. Stop thing. Okay. >> We're not playing these games. >> Okay. I'm sorry, sir. Stop. Okay. Okay. Okay. I'm not going to move. I promise. Stop. I promise. >> Just put your hand behind your back. >> No. Come on. Please don't do that. Please don't put my hand behind my back. I will stop moving. I promise. >> Stop. We're not playing. >> Okay. Let me just stand still. >> 2079. Just come back up. We're going 95. >> Okay. No, I'm going to stay still. Please. Just I'm going to >> We're going to go You're going to go in cuffs. >> Okay. I'm sorry. >> No, you're going in cuffs. >> No, I promise. I'm not going to move. I promise. Please just give me one more chance. >> Do you understand that you're both detained, right? So, if I give you a lawful order? >> Yes. I'm going to stand still. I'm standing still. I'm standing still. >> Girl, put your hands right back. >> Why are we under arrest? One arrest >> right now. You're being detained. I told you you're not doing all this. >> Put your hand behind your back. >> Okay. >> Stop right here. >> Okay. Wait. My coat. WAIT. I'M NOT GOING TO GO NOWHERE. >> STOP. >> Put your hands behind your back. Stop playing these games. I told you. >> Let me go. Okay. Y'all got to go. >> Let go. Drop it. >> Okay. Drop it. >> Why are we going to rest? Getting arrested. We don't have anything. >> I said you're detained. I said don't do anything. >> Okay. But why is we getting arrested when we don't have anything? Because you're taking the sensors off and I caught you before you walked out. She's going to have a magnet on her somewhere. Unless she stashed that somewhere, too. >> Then how are you taking the sensors off? >> I don't take anything. >> Not you. That one. >> And once they were taken outside, officers checked her information and realized the name she provided did not match the identification they found. Watch her explanation for this discrepancy. >> Right there. Yeah, that's why I told >> I never had a magnet. >> My name is Kia. No, it's Kia. I have two names, sir. Both of them will pull up. >> And you said you said 81. It's 9. >> No, I'm sorry. I I said 91. I think he got 82192. I said 91 92. >> 821 of 92. That didn't even close. >> That's 9192. >> 91 of 92. All right. You're under under arrest or obstruct. >> No. No. I didn't give you no fake information, sir. >> Do you have anything in your shirt? >> No, I Y'all, please don't take me to rest. Please. I gave him Y'all got my ID. I said Shaquia Thompson 9192. I never gave you guys a fake name. >> Have a seat in here for now. >> Can I Can I Can I make a phone call, please? >> Not right now. >> My kids is at home. Can I please? >> That's fine. >> Have a seat, ma'am. All the way in. >> Am I going to jail? You can be honest with me >> right now. Yes. >> Why? >> Okay. >> I don't know if it's going to be for retail theft right now. Possession of the theft device. I will get that to you. Okay. >> Right now. You just got to cooperate with me. Okay. >> Okay. One second before I sit down. Can I please just make one call off my phone right now? >> Please. Because my my daughter is at work and I just want her to know what's going on. Please. >> I promise you this. If I take you to jail, I'll give you that call. Okay. >> I don't want to go to jail. >> I said if I'll give you >> take me to jail. >> I know. Have a seat. Okay. You have nothing in your bra? >> No. >> In the end, the women were charged with retail theft, possession of a theft device, and obstruction for providing inconsistent identification information. When denial replaces cooperation, even small actions can quickly turn suspicion into serious charges. Next, this woman caused chaos at Walmart by letting her dog run wild. >> You're going to kill my dog. >> If it comes at me and bites you, >> you're going to kill my dog. You, you, and you, and you. Oh, racist ass. >> On the 9th of April, 2025 at around 9:22 p.m. Police were dispatched to Walmart after receiving a report of a customer who had brought an aggressive pitbull into the store. When they approached the woman, she completely avoided the officer's questions and showed no intention of cooperating. Hey, you stop. >> What's going on today? >> Somebody called and said your dog's biting people. >> He is. >> Okay. Where's the people that got bit? >> 12 unit check. >> You have no idea where they went. >> You can't talk or nothing? What's wrong with you? >> Okay. Are you bit? >> I don't know. >> You want to see? >> Can you just tell me if you're bit? You can't You can't tell me. >> Hey, stop. Come here. You're not going anywhere. You're going to stay here. >> I want to follow. >> Okay, that's fine. >> I want to file report. >> Okay. Can you just stop? >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Hey, >> who did your dog bite? >> Um, somebody. >> Hold the dog with your both hands on the leash, please. What? >> Why? >> Cuz I said so. >> It was clear that the woman had no control over her dog and showed no concern about whether it had bitten anyone. At that point, the officer gave her a warning, but all he got in return was an even more hostile reaction from the woman. >> If your dog comes at me and tries to bite me, I'm going to You're going to kill my dog. >> If it comes at me and bites me, >> you're going to kill my dog. >> Do I speak another language that you don't understand? >> So, you said you were going to my dog. >> Yes. If your dog bites me, I will. >> Okay. >> All right. >> Let's grow up a little bit. Let's act like adults. Okay. >> All right. Do you want to hold on to your dog? >> I got it. >> Okay. I don't think you want to play these games. Okay. >> I got my dog. >> Good. >> What's going on here? Why am I at Walmart today? >> Go ahead. I'll need another unit here. This uh dog owner is not going to be cooperative. >> The woman's behavior escalated the situation to the point that four additional police units and animal services were dispatched to the scene. It was also confirmed that there was more than one victim as multiple people had been bitten by her dog. Okay, I'll be with you in a little bit. Okay. >> All I said is you better have >> Who got bit? Who got bit? >> Two people are ready. Another gentleman in the store. >> Got bit. >> Where'd you get bit, sir? >> I got the video. >> I got bit in the rest. >> Okay. Do you want an ambulance? >> Do you want an ambulance, sir? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I want to file a report, too. >> Okay. You can do that with animal services. Okay. >> You can't file a report. >> We don't do that. That's animal services that'll handle that. >> I was attacked. >> What's that? I was attacked. >> Send the video to me. >> Based on the woman's behavior, the officers began to question her mental state. >> She showed no concern for what had happened and repeatedly caused disruptions even while the victims were trying to explain what had taken place. >> WHAT YOUR SHIRT SAY? I GOT YOUR BACK. >> OKAY, >> dumb ass. >> Okay, we'll have come check you out. >> All right, >> you dumbest. >> Can you stop talking like that? >> I'm not talking to you, am I? Can you stop talking to other people like Why are you yelling? Can you act like an adult? >> Can you act an adult? >> [ __ ] you don't talk to me like that. Are you my mom? >> You ain't going to be my dad. >> You ain't going to do about it. Tighten up. Tighten up. Okay. >> Watch out for that pole. It snuck up on you, didn't it? >> Yep. >> You got bit three people. Look out. >> Don't know. Go ahead and do that. All right. >> All right. We'll have the fire department come check you out. >> Did you see the video? >> The animal services will handle all of that when they come back here. Okay. service will help all of that. >> Look, I was just walking by in the damn dog. >> You see the camera? You better see. >> And there's a camera right here, too. >> Camera right there, too. >> Yeah, you on camera. You see me on camera. >> Look, your dog is out of control. >> And your mama is out of control. >> My mama >> and my mama. [ __ ] The woman continued lingering with her dog near the store's entrance where other customers were passing through, prompting the officers to move her to a different area. >> I don't know what sick. >> Hey, I got your name. >> Hey, you can't get a thing out of me. >> I'm asking your name. >> You can't get a thing. >> Why not? >> You can't get play hot boy and then you can get the away from me. >> Let me tell you. >> That's what you do. You, you and you, and you. Ra, >> I don't know, Miami. >> Do I got a car? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Do you want to see it? >> Sure. Is it here? >> No. >> Oh, you watching? Okay. >> Yeah. Let's go. >> Let's go. >> I told you to stay over here. >> And I told you to stay right there, >> Dan. You understand? You're not >> I understand everything. >> Good. Very good. Thank you. So, you'll know to just stand right over here. >> And I know you better get back. >> I don't think you want to play with me. >> Yeah. I don't I don't think down that road. Sit. Now, >> can you please get your dog in rem? >> Thank you. Get out of the road. That's all I'm asking. >> At that point, the situation became even more tense. The officers began positioning themselves around the woman in preparation to arrest her and she appeared to realize what was happening, prompting her to try to flee. >> We thought a grabber. >> Yeah, I don't when he grabs the ball. >> Hey, hey, hey. >> Come back. Where are you going? >> Where are you going? >> Where are you going? >> Where? >> I told you to stand here. >> And I told you to stand here. >> We're not doing that. >> And we're not doing Look at me right now. >> Keep your dog there. You stay right there. All right. >> That's all. >> That's all we're doing. >> Don't touch. >> Don't touch him. >> Don't touch him. >> You got it. >> Don't touch him. >> Stop this up. >> Put your hands behind your back until we get this sorted out. Cut your light up. >> Okay, >> I got it. Got it. >> Yeah. >> You better move back. >> Back. >> Back. Big thing. >> Get back. Draco get me undo this. >> Draco. Draco. Draco. >> Stay here. >> Draco. >> DAMN IT. >> DRACO. [screaming] >> Don't run her waist. >> Draco. Draco. Get. >> Who's got a knife or scissors? I got We're just going to go this way. Draco. >> I'm going to have to hold this. Go. Can you cut it? >> Yeah. Just cut the whole thing. >> You're good. Give me my shoes real quick. >> Don't go there. >> No. Yeah, I'm not I'm not going there. >> My shoes real quick >> until your dog is >> Hey, give me my shoes real quick. >> Until your dog gets away from the shoes. >> You shouldn't have kicked him off. >> After placing her in the patrol car, the officers began questioning her again. However, the way she responded only further reinforced their concerns about her mental state. >> No. See, >> are you diagnosed any mental illnesses? See C. You see me? Do I see you? Yes. Ci see Z. [ __ ] D. You see a Z A Z. That means D and D away. A away from me. That's what that means. So >> Wyatt, what the >> I'll talk to her. >> Talk to her. >> Just window up here. >> Can I ask you question? Professor, what what's the deal with you here? >> In the end, the woman was charged with resisting an officer without violence. [music] Failing to control a dangerous pet and refusing to cooperate with officers can quickly turn a manageable incident into an arrest with lasting legal consequences. On the 22nd of January 2026, officers responded to a Walmart after receiving a report of a family suspected of shoplifting. They immediately arrived at the scene and coordinated with asset protection, waiting for the right moment to surprise the suspects while surveillance cameras continued recording evidence. Just stuffed it into his little bag. >> He's just going to toss all the trash into the shelf. >> Yep. They're back to shopping again. Looks like you're waiting in line for the self check out on your side. Hey, they're at a selfch check out on your side right now. They're scanning stuff on their car right now. Paying for I guess. Hey, Evan. >> Yep. >> Call Roger. Uh I'm going to head over to you guys. They're about done. Looks like she's paying for it now. >> Yeah. Wing right now. You ready for another? >> Stop. >> Yep. We need to talk to both of you guys. Right now, I'm going to detain you, though. >> Right now, you're under suspicion of retail theft. Okay. >> Put your other hand behind your back. >> Yep. We'll go through everything. Okay. >> Yep. >> Yeah. You're good. I got to do this. So, >> right now, you're just detained. Okay, man. >> Here, let me let me make sure that tight We're going to walk right down here to selfch checkout. Okay, >> we're going to go down to the asset protection. >> The man was then escorted to the asset protection office where officers recovered the concealed merchandise from inside his clothing, leaving him with little room to deny what had happened. >> You hear me, sir? >> Yeah, I heard you. I got some stuff on me, sir. >> Yeah, you're good. >> Where's all that stuff at? >> A long way, bro. >> No, it is. Can you uh It's right here in front of you. I got you. >> This face wall up. I'm trying to help you. >> No, you do. >> You're good. >> Excuse me. >> I'm gonna trade you spots. Okay. >> All right. >> We're gonna slide right past you. >> I'm going bring him out. He's got stuff concealed on him. So, >> bring him out. >> Yeah. Just so she can she can uh sit down. >> I'm going hand you guys lift my shirt up. >> His this stuff right here. You can lift my shirt up. >> Give me permission, sir. >> Yes, sir. Let me call him and tell him. Oh, >> these are goodies. >> Yeah, they are. >> These are got taste, man. >> Yeah. >> Stuff right here. That's it. That's it. My phone. We're going to take everything out. >> Ma'am, can I see your receipt, please? >> Yeah. >> His phone. Here's the pack. >> Get my money inside. >> Yep. We'll make sure you get it. Okay. Right now, I'm just grabbing everything out of there. Okay. >> That's all, sir. Nothing. That's my candy wrapper. >> Why you touch my ladder? That's my ladder right there, too. >> All righty, man. You can sit down. Okay. >> I don't want y'all to add nothing up that I didn't >> I know. I know you're good. I watched you on video. >> I'm just saying. >> I got you. The man didn't seem the least bit embarrassed by what had happened, and neither did his wife. She showed no sign of surprise, as if she already knew exactly what was going on. But instead of trying to stop him, she appeared more focused on coming up with an excuse for his actions. >> Well, then it was when you scan it at these two together. >> I didn't realize. I mean, I can pay for it. >> Well, it's it's going to be too late cuz it's we're going to end up trespassing at the very least, saying I won't be able to purchase anything. >> I mean, on the the camera, it looks pretty pretty clear. I won't be honest. >> Um, we're just supposed to call the cops over anything over. I think it's like >> You're going to need a cart. >> They pretty much take care of it after >> from me. It's It's just going to be a trespass. >> It doesn't matter. Um, >> you still at the end of the day still stole it. >> Still considered theft. So >> that's literally like 5,000. >> I understand. But you still have to pay for it. >> To that stuff, man. I want you to fully understand that I watched every single bit of what you guys did almost from the time you entered the store till right now. So, I know exactly what you did. >> Why are you taking my property out? >> Because you didn't pay for this. >> No, I'm talking about the [ __ ] that >> What's yours will go with you. >> Okay. I'm not trying to get >> No, you're good. I understand. up in the situation. Officers decided to release the woman to avoid DCFS involvement. >> Child and I don't want to take her child away from her. >> What's that? >> You got adult with >> is is you got an adult with your kids and your kids are okay, right? Her situation is different. If she goes to jail or kid goes to DCFS, >> I don't want to do that. >> I want it to be understood that we still have to hold people accountable. >> However, it's not our goal to take children away. I'm saying how how much is this retail though? Is there going to be a valid? >> Nothing. Not steel in the first place. >> All right. You had your mar warning read to you before? >> Yes. >> All right. You have the right to remain silent. Have the I need an audible answer. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. Having these rights in mind, do you wish you talk to me? >> All right. >> If if you if you're down on your luck, there's resources available now. >> Sir, I'm feeling helping patients. I'm doing everything that I can get. I'm supposed to be getting in drug court right now. Like I said, I already got legal problems going on. >> I know. >> I can't do nothing. >> Where? How'd you get here today? >> My mom. >> What? >> My mom. >> Is she coming here? >> Yeah. >> Is she like here >> now? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Following the officer's decision, the suspects gradually accepted the consequences of their actions. Even the man admitted to the crime he had committed. >> Okay. And I got on the 28th I have four coming up a trial for um two retails and a and a possession motor vehicle. >> This is under $500 and I don't know exactly what's going on. >> I have no clue. >> That's why I'm asking you. >> I have no clue. >> I'm going to go to the >> Y. You will see a judge. >> You have you been to jail? >> You know how who are you even taking jail? Yes, I'm going down. Mom, >> I just told you that. >> Mom, >> what? >> Can you come out to the county and bring me some money or something? >> I should mean something, man. Like, oh, >> she's free. >> Hell no. >> Charge. Whether or not you go out and the county doesn't change anything going to be arrested mess. >> Yeah. >> What's that? >> No. I said I was telling her you had to run my name. >> Oh yeah. So I just need you to sign this after I read it off to you. Okay. So, what this is saying is Wednesday, March 15th, >> at 1:15, says 13:15. That's the hours we use. >> Yeah. >> At 1:15 p.m., you're going to go to courtroom 321 at Pory County Courthouse. >> Okay. You're >> you're going there for retail theft under. >> Okay. So, if it was over $300 that was taken past last point of entry, that's a felony. >> Okay. >> So, >> the man was charged with retail theft. The woman was issued a notice to appear for retail theft and released. Compassion may change how justice is carried out, but it never erases responsibility. The woman was spared jail for her child's sake, not because the crime disappeared. >> Caretaker of the house. I do everything for him. >> This ain't about being heartless. >> No, I know that. >> All of this is going in the report. >> I'm caretaker. Sorry. >> You don't want to make this. On the 19th of May 2024, police received a call from Walmart reporting a theft that had occurred with the suspect identified as a 42-year-old woman who deliberately pushed an entire shopping cart filled with multiple unpaid items out of the store. This was what happened after police arrived at the scene. >> That's first. Yes, ma'am. Can you bring the purse in here without opening it, please? >> [music] >> Do you mind just got rid of my um gloves? Do you have any extra gloves? >> Yeah, I got you. >> Thank you. >> Huh? Oh, never mind. He has All right. Obviously, the reason Hi. >> What's your name? >> Yeah. >> Did you all try it together? >> Yes. >> All right. Cool. I'm going to have him go hang out in the car when she doesn't need to be a part of it. >> Um, >> can you just grab his receipts? Whatever he has. >> All right, cool. Start with that. take the daughter and take her to the car. >> Okay. >> All right. Um, can you do me a favor? Grab his phone number. That's it. And uh, and then the baby. >> Thank you. >> So, it turned out she had committed her wrongdoing while out with her entire family. Yet, she showed no remorse as the police continued to find additional items inside her handbag. >> I'm going to give you the benefit of doubt. To be honest with me, >> I'm always going to be honest. I'm not going to lie. Is there anything on you? In your bag? Anything else that's on page four? >> There's probably something in my bag. >> Anything on you? >> No. >> Are you going to stand a quick time? >> That's my base. >> That's cool. All right. Anything? Cool. Cool. >> So, can I go in first? Sure. You said this paper. >> All right. >> All right. This This >> What else? Nothing else. Do you have ID? >> No, I didn't bring my ID. I can >> verify your credit card. >> That's my room. >> Katrina. Hi. >> Sorry. Sorry. Now you're going to end up with a tiny notepad looking thing. >> I couldn't sometimes. >> All the evidence of the woman's crime was completely clear. Yet, she still seemed unable to grasp it. Even at this point, she continued asking naive questions about whether she was actually going to be charged or not. >> I didn't remember your >> um >> I don't like to lie to people. Yes. >> Why? >> Okay. taking me like a notice. No, >> you get all >> This is the thing, man. >> I was going to be honest [laughter] with you, guys. >> I was honest. >> I know you were, which is that's also going to be a factor. >> That's going to be a factor. >> You know where their car is? >> Why do I have to go to jail? My baby's in the car. >> Please, sir. >> The woman tried to make herself look pitiful by begging through claims about caring for her family, but in reality, it was far from the truth. Police quickly began noticing signs suggesting her condition may have been connected to drug use. >> Ask you a question. I want you to be honest with me. >> I will. >> Are you Are you a drug addict? >> I'm a ex drug addict. I'm an ex user. I'm a recovering addict. >> I know because I saw your picture and >> No, I know that I'm a recover. I go to methodone clinic now. My baby. >> She's going to search you. Your baby's going to be fine. >> I know, but please be fine. Why can't y'all give me a notice to appear? [laughter] Because >> because I don't even know about a notice to appear. I know it's been >> No, you're good. This is an accept. Listen, this isn't this is a lot of this is a a good amount. Okay. >> Also, honest with you, >> you going to let me talk? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> Just move this stuff out. >> A lot of this stuff. What's up? What do you mean? >> I take care of them. I take care of them at home. Like, I'm the one that stand up for me. I get it. Ma'am, please. >> Hold on. Just turn around. >> In my hand, please. I take care of them. I'm like the caretaker of the house. I do everything for him. >> This ain't about being heartless. Okay. >> No, I know that. But I was very honest with you guys. >> And I understand that. But I'm going I'm going to keep it real with you. >> We have plenty of evidence. >> No, I know. I didn't lie. I didn't lie. I didn't lie about anything though. >> I know you didn't. And guess what? That's going to go in the report. >> Your compliance. Why did y'all give me a notice to appeal? I take care of them >> because the fact that you know about a notice that appeared is >> I know I've been do me a favor. >> From the way she spoke, she clearly showed familiarity with the police process, proving this was far from her first encounter with crime. But this time, officers had to fully explain the seriousness of the offense she had committed. >> Hey, but this is But you got to stop doing this type of stuff. >> I haven't been in trouble in a long time. >> But you know face this is not personal. >> I know. >> I'm not mad at you. was not personal, but but they're in the good circumstances of them being at home. Like, I take care of them. He can't >> You got to learn this stuff, Gina. You can't come in the store and take stuff, man. >> I'm the one that take I'm the one that take care. >> And look at what you took. >> It wasn't like It wasn't like diap, you know, >> she don't wear diapers. >> There's nothing on here. This the soda. Okay, that I get uh potato. >> I paid for the soda. I paid for the potatoes. She ever paid >> everything else that you took was not was like non essential stuff. >> I know it's not. >> So that have to take you. >> I know. [laughter] >> I understand. Trust me. >> I take care of their going in the report caraker. Sir, >> you don't want to make this You don't want to make this harder than what it is. >> He's got to accept it already. You got to accept it. >> No. Why can't you just please give me one chance just for one night? >> No. And he'll tell you. I give people chances all the time. >> Why won't you give me a chance? I You have never seen me before, Mr. Macho. You've never seen me before. >> $193 worth of non-essential items. >> It's under 300. It's not >> It doesn't matter. See, the fact that you're saying that's very entitled. >> No, I know because I have a brand charge. That's why that's only Marian County, right? >> Yeah. But it's not from It's not from taking anything from anybody. >> I understand that, but you haven't. You better learn it. If I didn't have to take care of them, I wouldn't care about I wouldn't care about going to jail, but I wouldn't be begging you not to let me go. Like, I take I feed him. I bathe him. I b >> 5 hours, you'll be able to bond out 10% of what it is. >> He can't get up to a a bondsman. How does he going to get up there? I'm the driver. I do everything for him. I do everything for them, sir. >> He said he's working on it. >> Want begging you, sir. >> She was ultimately charged with petty theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor after stealing nearly $185 worth of merchandise while shopping with her family. Her repeated offenses proved that ignoring small crimes only leads to bigger consequences, especially when your own family is forced to witness the downfall caused by your action. >> All right, miss. I'm going to >> get the hell out of here. >> Across the street. Let's go. We'll walk together. On the 16th of June 2026, officers were dispatched to a retail store after receiving a report of an active shoplifting incident. The suspect was believed to be a woman in her 40s who was attempting to steal multiple items. When officers arrived, store employees provided them with her physical description to help identify her. She's walking over. >> She's wearing a pink shirt. >> A pink shirt. Black shirt underneath. Black. You older, younger? >> I don't know. Maybe like 40. >> Have you said skinny? >> Skinny >> wearing a bean. >> Black duffel bag. So maybe she's >> You said she has a duffel bag too with her. >> Yeah, black. >> I can show you on the camera. >> That's about right. After receiving the suspect's location from the store's surveillance cameras, officers quickly made contact with her. Despite their arrival, she appeared unusually calm, acting as though nothing had happened. >> How you doing? How are you? >> Sounds unrelated. I'll handle that after. >> I didn't say anything was wrong. I said, "How are you doing?" That's all I said to you. I'm greeting you, saying hello. That's it. I didn't say you did anything wrong. If you want to continue shopping, go ahead. >> Where's the bathroom? >> Where's Where's the bathroom? >> The bathroom's in the front over there by the rec. Where goes all the copper right here that allegedly that they were concerned about. It appeared she was only looking for a restroom as an excuse to avoid the officers as the shopping cart full of merchandise had already been abandoned. When officers approached her again, her panic gradually became visible through her behavior. Do you need a you need us to call you an ambulance or something? >> I don't need [ __ ] >> You sure? I want to make sure you're good cuz you look like you're about to throw up. >> Not. >> Okay. >> Hey, so look, it looks like you're going through some type of medical episode. So, I'm just going to >> It looks like you're like harassing No, you look like you're going through some kind of medical episode. I'm going to stand by and just make sure you're okay. You don't pass out. Okay. >> I'm not going to bother you, but I'm just going to make sure you're okay. That's what I'm going to do. >> You don't need to. >> Yeah. You're walking around like you're about to throw up. You got to use the bathroom and you say you need to sit down. So, I'm going to make sure you're okay. Your health. I'm concerned about your wellbeing. So, I'm just going to make sure you're okay. You're more than welcome to do whatever you want. I'm going to make I'm not bothering you. >> I think you are. >> No more conversation. I'm done talking. Can you stop following me? >> I'm not following you. This is a public place. I can go wherever I want. You're more than welcome to leave if you want to. She was simply trying to avoid the officers by moving to an area where they weren't present. [music] In reality, she had no intention of using the restroom as she soon began displaying even more bizarre behavior. All right, miss. I'm going to I'm going to call your ambulance. Okay. Something's going on here. >> It's fine. It's fine. >> Something's going on here. I'm going to call your ambulance so you can get checked out. Okay. >> You can't force me to go in. >> I'm not forcing you anyway, but let me call the paramedics for you so you can talk to me. >> I'm scared >> of what? >> Why are you guys harassing me? You see everyone out? >> No one's harassing you, miss. >> I'm going to step I'm going to step away now since you feel I'm harassing you. I told you I'm only concerned about your health. That's not normal what you're doing right now. >> I would say not normal >> to get on to get on a dirty floor and start doing all that. No, that's not normal. >> Okay, listen. Now you're being trespassed. You have to leave now. >> Listen, listen. Listen. This is This is the store. Listen. This is the store. Now they're telling you to leave. So now I'm authorizing you to leave. Please don't push. Do not push. Go this way. You have to leave. >> You have to You have to leave. I'm telling you, you have to leave or else you're going to be in cuffs. You have to leave. How? >> What do you mean? How are you sitting on the floor trying to make yourself throw up? >> Not at all. Why you actually going to leave? We're actually miss >> We're going to We're going to force you to leave. Don't do that again or else she going to cuffs. >> That's fine. Okay. >> Can I not do anything to you? >> Don't put your hands on me. You have to leave. >> Walk that way, please. >> Ironically, despite wearing a security uniform, the woman seemed unable to keep herself under control. Her behavior became increasingly erratic, and she soon began acting even more irrationally. [music] However, a few weeks later, the state attorney's office decided not to pursue the case and the charge was dropped. Her cash bond was returned. Excessive drinking and uncooperative behavior can quickly turn a simple situation into a legal problem. Even worse, take a look at this woman whose chaotic behavior was no less outrageous. I'm going to the bathroom cuz I have a credit card and a phone. >> Okay. So, that's fine. >> All right. >> Put your hands around your back. >> On the 26th of October, 2024, officers received a call from a local restaurant reporting a woman who had refused to pay her bill and assaulted a staff member. They immediately responded to the scene. And this was what unfolded next. >> Charges. If she doesn't want to pay her bill, yes. You got it. >> Hello, ma'am. I'm Officer Watson. How you doing tonight? >> Um, okay. Wait for my attorney to arrive. >> You're waiting for your attorney to arrive. Okay. So, I'm going to give you two options today. All right. So, you can either go to jail or you can leave peacefully and pay your bill. >> I'm going to leave peacefully. >> Okay. So, let's go ahead and pay your bill or you're going to jail tonight. >> Awesome. >> Who has your bill? You're going to vacate the premises. >> If I vacate the premises, what am I going to do? No, you're going to pay your bill and you're going to leave. >> You're not just tell me I have to go my >> I'm going to the bathroom >> cuz I have a credit card and a >> phone attorney. >> The woman showed absolutely no willingness to cooperate, creating a tense atmosphere throughout the restaurant. Officers attempted to put an end to the disturbance, but it seemed she only made the situation even worse. >> Going to put your phone down. No dance right now. You >> can't stop. >> You cannot trespass me and say nothing. Stop. >> No, this is not I'm >> Okay, that's fine. So, you're putting me in jail for the bathroom. >> No, you didn't want to pay your bill. You >> I want to pay my bill. I put your stuff down. >> Can I go pay my bill now? >> Put your stuff down. >> Put your stuff down. >> No, I'm not doing this right now. I'm not doing this right now. >> Oh, ma'am. I do not want to take you to the ground. If you keep fighting me, I'm going to take you to the ground. >> I'm calling my attorney right now. >> Stop. Do not. Ma'am, you're not going to overpower me and I'm going to throw you to the ground here in a second. Stop resisting. >> You're literally doing this in a public place and >> all right. Put your hands around your back. She ended up on the ground because of her own stubbornness. Yet even then she failed to recognize her wrongdoing and continued defying officers while making their job even more difficult. All of this for stand up. >> All of this for >> I told you I would pay my bill. I told you I would pay my bill. Give me my phone. >> I I'll give it to you. Take a seat. Take a seat. >> Put your feet in. >> Give me my stuff. >> I will give you your stuff. Just take a seat. No, I want my stuff first. >> I want my purse. Shortly after the arrest, the officer returned to the restaurant to complete the remaining procedures related to the case. >> I need a statement from you if you do not mind. You might want to do it on that. So just put uh your information, name, date of birth, and all that good jazz. >> So to start it off, if you could just say she came, whoever this female is, if you guys know her information, that's fine. Just say she came in, she sat down, you know, maybe had something to drink, something to eat while here, she did this, and then once whenever she however she punched you, bit you, just write that in. I didn't want her to be in trouble. >> I'll at least just say that it happened, but that you don't want anything. >> I don't want her coming back again. >> Okay. You guys want to trespass? I'm assuming. >> The woman was charged with battery and resisting an officer without violence. Pride and stubbornness can be more damaging than the original mistake. Taking responsibility early may prevent a situation from escalating into an arrest, criminal charges, and public embarrassment. >> And there's a there's a gun in the vehicle, too. >> Just sitting there >> in the center console. >> All right, man. Where's that receipt at? >> Um, I think it was in the cart. >> In the cart? I didn't see one in there. Even when officers approached them, they never appeared concerned and instead acted suspiciously, seemingly trying to avoid answering questions. >> What vehicle are you guys in? >> That one. >> That one. All right, cool. We need to talk to you. >> Well, we got two children in the car. >> Yeah, it's freezing out here. You already take two children in the store with you. >> I'm sorry. We was rushing. You didn't get to have Thanksgiving. >> No, look, man. I'm not I'm I'm just being honest. You know, accidents happen. It's just unsafe. With the safety of others placed at risk by their actions, the officers were able to take decisive action against them. >> Turn around for me. Put your hand back. You're going to be placing your rights. Okay. You have the right to anything you say. Can I get my phone? >> Hold on. Turn around for me. Put your hands behind your back. You're going to be placed under arrest. SW1 will be right. All right. So, for these children, do we have family close by that can take control of these kids? >> We're going to work through that. Okay. >> I'm going walk you to the front of my car. Okay. >> I I'll touch you. I'll let you do that here in a second. Okay. At that point, officers discovered the situation was even more serious as it became clear they had not legitimately come to shop because multiple items were found to have never been paid for. The officers then confronted the suspects about that. Do >> you have a receipt for everything that's in there? >> I didn't bring it up. My husband did. >> Okay, I'll ask him. >> Have a seat or anything? >> Is there anything in your purse or anything? >> No. >> Nothing I'm going to find that's not paid for. >> Now, if you honest now, we're going to find out anyway. You guys were already best for me. >> Not from this one, but from a previous one. >> All right, man. Look, I got to ask you a couple questions. Okay. It's all on camera inside. All right. Did you pay for everything that's in that card? >> Not the wipes. >> Okay. So you did you skip skip scan some stuff? >> Okay. Um do you have a receipt in the bag so we can go back and see? >> Okay. So I'm going to go check and we'll go from there. Okay. >> All right. >> So what's the go to court? Downtown or it's going to be Delaware? >> We're in Delaware County right now. Have a seat right here. Okay. I'm going have you take off your shoes for me. Do you think judging by their attitude, this was really their first time? There was no sign of remorse whatsoever. Officers then recovered all of the merchandise they had taken. >> No, man. If it's paid for, it's paid for. Whatever you guys pay for, I'll bring back out. But the stuff that's not paid for, so that's got to go back. Okay. >> So, I I >> um I got to find out if it's paid for. If it's not paid for, then it's got to go back. Okay. Uh, so I see the receipt somewhere. >> Yeah, that's what that's what I'm looking for. I'm looking for the receipt. >> Cuz if it look, if it's paid for, you guys can keep it. If it's not paid for, >> it's not paid for. >> You get it? >> Um, I got to give me a minute. I got to go back to my bag and let me take care of this and I'll get you one. Okay. >> Okay. >> Are you guys able to pull receipts up? I'm not seeing a receipt here anywhere. >> No receipt. >> She did admit to she did admit to stealing the seasoning in her purse. >> Okay. All right, man. Where's that receipt at? >> Um, I think it was in the cart. >> In the cart. I didn't see one in there. Okay. >> And one in bags. >> Okay. How much uh how much stuff do you skip? >> It was like two items. >> Two items. Okay. And then she's got the seasoning in her purse that she took. >> Uh I don't know if you knew about that. >> Okay. Um Okay. That's all I had, man. We're going to try to figure this out. I know it's not much, but my charges for it. Okay. >> Because of these parents' actions, everyone connected to them ended up facing the consequences. A store representative explained what they would face in the future. But pay close attention to the way they laughed. They acted as if nothing that had happened was a big deal. >> Okay. So, obviously, just to let you guys know that you're no longer allowed on my property. That's all property where gas stations, stores, any stores we own, any property that we own, even if we have not built on it yet. >> No longer allowed on there >> like every >> ever. >> Nope. So, you'll have your s signature and the date. What if >> I don't sign? >> No, it still counts. >> Still counts, man. I got two officers standing right here. >> Make you sign it. >> I can't make you sign it, but it still counts. It's all on It's all on video. >> And look, I tell you my real good what they do. So they'll know if you come back in here. >> How did these [ __ ] make you ban from my bro? >> I'm going to be 30 years old like damn, I really want some fresh vegetables and I'm not going to be able to come to my bro. I don't care. Why is the light? >> In the end, the couple were charged with child endangerment, theft, and criminal trespass. [music] Never put your children at risk or treat theft like a minor mistake because reckless choices can harm innocent lives and lead to serious criminal consequences. Next, this mother even tried to shift all the blame onto her own daughter. You had nothing to do with that? No. >> Okay. So, she she knowingly knew what was going on. Okay. On the 18th of March 2022, officers responded to a Target store after receiving reports of a theft involving an older woman and her 22-year-old daughter. Here was what allegedly happened. However, when officers questioned the mother about it, she completely denied any involvement or knowledge of the theft. >> Now, what is your role in this? I am her stepdad and I was just giving her rides today. She's been homeless for like a year and a half and I thought she had the money to pay for it. >> Okay. Now, did you tell her to move with the stuff without paying or? >> No. >> So, at what point did you see her leaving without it? Or were you trying to leave too? >> No, I was on my way out and she was still back there shopping. I didn't even know that she was right behind me. >> Okay. Kelsey was charged with thirdderee theft and two counts of probation violation after attempting to steal more than $1,500 worth of merchandise from Target. The mother was not arrested at the scene, but investigators continued reviewing the evidence and considered possible charges against her for her alleged involvement. If you knowingly take part in a crime, surveillance footage and witness statements can expose the truth, no matter how carefully you try to deny it. She showed no remorse and quickly began portraying herself as the victim. >> Behave now back here. >> I'm behaving, dude. She put her hands on me, man. >> He put his hands on me, too. >> Yeah. >> I don't take that. >> I don't care what it is, but she put her hands on me. >> Who? >> You're You're the cop after you pushed her. >> No, I did. So she's shop with me on the um empty bags like that. She's basically just putting stuff in there, right? And that's the two hours. So after that, um I'm just waiting for her to pass the last point. Boom. We stop her. As her come in the office, she comes in. She gets very very aggressive. I come in our face and all that. We retrieve the merchandise. >> Obviously, she's aggressive. Ask for ID and stuff. She didn't want to, you know, provide it and stuff. She get angry at us. And that's when we started calling cuz she just how agitated she was. >> Okay. So hold on. She was taking bags and loading stuff in them. >> Yeah. All I seen was the two electronic items and one makeup. I don't know if that's >> okay. Electronics and makeup. >> All right, let's go through. >> In addition, the store's surveillance cameras captured her concealing merchandise inside her bra, prompting officers to conduct a search. >> But you're on camera stuffing something in your bra. That's why I'm searching. >> Can you please step away? >> He's got to be here with me. He's my backup. Look at my tit. >> Listen, I'm a female. There's two in there. >> There's definitely in my >> Yeah, cuz I cuz you have a Yes, I do. >> But why are they in your bra? Why are they in your tits? >> Well, then you have a prescription. >> Got to take them with me to jail. That's what I was going to do. I was going to eat them when I got in there. >> There we go. Cuz it's inside out. >> No, it's not inside out. Actually, it is actually. Can you at least put it back in? Jesus. That's why I put them in the first place. Put in my mouth. No. Why? >> Absolutely not. >> Why not? They're mine. >> She showed no sign that she understood the seriousness of what was happening, acting arrogant throughout the entire situation. Even the body camera inside the patrol car was not spared from her behavior. This right there. You know what? kind of busy. We're >> No, we're we're actually kind of busy dealing with somebody in the vehicle right now. So, if you do have something >> Can you do me a favor? Can you just grab my wrist? the left one. Can you just >> I would do that for you. >> Yeah. Yeah. I think that's mine. So if they took they took it. >> Okay. >> The pencil. >> The eye pencil that was mine. >> The officers ran a background check on the woman and it turned out this was not her first offense. At that point, they explained to her what consequences she would be facing. >> So listen, you have previous theft conviction. So even though this >> Why do I Why do I have to put what >> on your on your criminal history? arrested for for theft related crimes >> for like what? >> Grand theft, fraud, and defrauding an inkeeper. You have convictions. >> That was [ __ ] because there's that was somebody else. That was somebody else. >> You were convicted. There's actual convictions in your criminal. >> That was somebody else. That's why I got criminal use of a personal identification, but I didn't. >> Well, that's the one, but it wasn't my charge. >> She believed everything belonged to her except for taking responsibility for her own actions. However, under pressure from the officers, she eventually had to admit to the theft. >> That other that eye pencil is mine. I tried to take that freaking other thing, but I did not get the thing out, so I just left it there. The little things, the pomade, >> there was one, but it was darker. And I put back and >> you just couldn't you? >> No, I put it back. >> Okay. >> And so that's what they're looking for. Denying wrongdoing and refusing to cooperate can make a situation worse, especially when evidence and a criminal history prove otherwise. Next, she wasn't a shoplifter, but the level of complications she created was something else entirely. >> Your last name's not three. >> Yes, it is. >> You have no idea when you have no [ __ ] idea. >> What? >> Okay. >> You're not going to do it. So, let's stop playing the game. On the 18th of April 2025, officers responded to a call from a 7-Eleven after reports of a disturbance at the store. The suspect, a woman who had reportedly been banned from returning multiple times, continued showing up. Anyway, this was what happened when officers approached her. >> Did you just put that in your pocket right in front of me? >> Take out what's in your pocket. >> Did she take that from you guys? >> It came over. Come over here. >> So, >> come over here. Stop. Get away from me. Over there. >> This next day here one by one. >> He's the second time this like a first time we send the officers come in. >> There's a lot of stuff here. He's a bit outside. She just says okay. >> Okay. >> The store simply wanted her to leave the premises. But things were nowhere near that simple. Even the basic task of obtaining her information became difficult as the woman calmly made the process harder for the officers. >> Okay. >> What's your last name? dots. >> Spell it. >> Put a dot first. Make a space. >> There's a space. Spell the last name. >> Okay. V. >> V. >> V. V. >> Yes. She even displayed several behaviors that caused officers to question her mental state. Oh my good graciousness. No. No. >> No. >> No. Did she You think she took anything today? Can you see? >> No. She has schizophrenia. >> Are you diagnosed with schizophrenia? >> No, I'm not diagnos. What's your address where you live in town? >> One pack >> one, Texas. >> Yeah. So, let's let's stop playing the game. >> Okay. >> She's trying to go home. >> The woman had no intention of resolving the situation. At that point, the officers made their decision. >> That's why. >> Oh, you're not going to stop your [ __ ] bro. >> Give me a purse. >> We're going to have one female tattoo. this down. >> Yo, >> now your stuff is is ours as well. Beautiful. >> It's too late now. >> Get the out of my bag, bro. >> Too late. >> She became extremely hostile when officers searched her bag. And what they found inside was certainly a reason why. >> Get out my bag. Get out my bag. Get out my bag. >> Check to see if that's stuff from someone. It looks like stuff from 7. >> Yes, it's [ __ ] 7-Eleven. >> Thank you very much. There's nothing in there. It's socks, bro. What do you want to do with socks? Go hit my body. All right. All right. Watch what happened. >> Get your legs in the car. >> Come on. Come on, man. Stop. >> Watch your back, bro. >> The woman was ultimately charged with obstruction of the administration of law and disorderly conduct. Refusing to cooperate with lawful police requests and escalating a simple situation often leads to far more serious consequences than the original incident.
