Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. >> If you were a thief and kept trying to run away, not just once, but multiple times, this was exactly the kind of consequence [music] waiting for you. >> I'll stop. >> Three. >> But what if you were a thief who tried to run far away with your own child? >> You hit so many damn cards. DO NOT MOVE. DO NOT MOVE. YOU WEREN'T WATCH. >> Do not move. >> That'd be an admission. Thank you very much. >> Enjoy your time in prison. >> And even more chaos unfolded after that. All of it will be shown in today's video. Woman thinks her Walmart theft spree went unnoticed. We are This is Law. Don't forget to like and subscribe. Starting with the woman who abused the selfch checkckout lanes. You say she skipped the >> So what she does is show me the scan and >> whatever I have I'm going through. And like I said, it's selfch checkout. >> On the 10th of June 2024, police responded to a Walmart after employees recognized Madison, a woman accused of repeatedly abusing selfch checkout lanes to steal. Loss prevention staff then monitored the group alongside officers as they watched their every move. >> Why ketchup? So first >> she skipped the cheese. >> You say she skipped the cheese. >> So what she does on >> center. >> I don't think she got anything on the bottom. Let me check. She has a big deal. She told me last time, "Man, you work at Walmart." I said, "Girl, you can't keep a job." just wanting to trespass. >> If they get past, >> if you didn't know, Walmart policy prevented officers from stopping suspects while they were still inside the store during the act. So, the moment the group passed the final point of payment, officers immediately moved in. And this was what happened next. You let me >> You have your IDs on you? >> No, I don't. >> No. Okay. And what is your name? >> Carly Franco. >> Carly Franco. >> Which Madison? >> One more time. >> Madison Barela. >> Madison. >> How do you spell Madison? Her name. >> M A D I S O. Oh, >> okay. Just >> said Mela. >> Mela. B A R E L A. What's birthday? >> Um, >> last time on that last name. Too hard to hear. >> B A R V L. Okay. >> Okay. >> All right. >> And we're allowing you to do trespasses, too. What you want? >> Trespass. >> Okay. Exactly. So, just shoting >> trespass or just trespass. >> Yes. >> Under every accusation thrown at them, the suspects could barely deny anything yet showed no remorse at all as they immediately began using their circumstances as excuses for their actions >> going through. I have no intentions to sue. And that's the% truth. That's 110% truth. I have no intentions to sue. Whatever I have, I'm going through. And like I said, it's selfch checkout. I mean, >> I've seen some of yours. You use like different tags. Try to use different tags for the wonder. Oh, I don't recall the date, but yeah, so do me a favor. Hang out here and then I'm going to get your trespasses and then we'll scare everything else. Someone comes around like where are you sending that I don't mind. >> Shortly after officers made their decision and both suspects were forced into their own walk of shame. safe. >> No. All right. We're walking out. So, we're going to go this way. Bons are like I know you want to. And they're like, "You going to call me in 10 minutes?" I'm like, "Oh, you ready?" I call them. They're like working. And I'm like, "Working." And I'm like, "Man, >> I hear you." >> Oh, okay. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> They said we were stealing. >> Okay. You have a necklace on or anything? >> No, I don't. >> Okay. With you. Go over here to the back of the car. I'll make sure to put your stuff in a bag. Have a seat for me. Oh my god, what is that? >> Madison and the other suspect were charged with shoplifting and criminal trespassing. Trying to outsmart selfch checkckout cameras for small items can still lead to public humiliation. Criminal charges and consequences that follow long after the theft itself. Next, this woman pushed the situation into an even more intense escalation. >> Looking at her bag, >> there it is. I seen it. I seen the green. Take her out. >> No, I don't. I don't. I don't. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. >> On the 31st of July, 2025, officers received a call from Walmart reporting that a woman had returned to the store despite previously being trespassed. The moment they arrived on scene, officers began monitoring all of the woman's movements through the surveillance cameras. >> The Indian girl. >> Yeah. >> Is she real short? Real dark? >> No, it's real dark, but probably about that tall. She's She's got a couple bags, black shirt. She came walking from uh garden around garden from automotive and then walked right around the front. >> I'll see if I can find it. >> I think she's talking about him. >> What happened with a gray shirt, backpack, and a hat? >> I think that's what she thought. >> He walked in with a backpack. >> Yeah, we don't think we saw that. We should talk about that. >> No, that's Kita. I saw a conversation with this girl and uh she's talking to some guy about like being the father to her. >> Oh no, [laughter] >> it's crazy. We got a backpack. >> She's always in here now. >> Yeah, >> you said that last time they stole something. Who? >> You don't remember? Oh, look. We got back. >> Let's take her to jail. How many? >> Yeah. You want to let her drive by or you want to get her now? She looked at her bag, too. >> She had to take one. >> Yeah, I think I'm going to check the aisle. >> Check Wi-Fi five the aisle. See if there's any packaging for it or anything. >> Or she dumped one. >> Looks like there's a phone. >> Yeah, it looks like it's kind of her bag now. >> When I walked by something in her bag, >> there it is. I see it. I seen the green. >> So this time the woman also appeared to be planning to steal again. The moment she showed signs of leaving the store, officers immediately stopped her outside. But what nobody expected was the chaos that instantly erupted afterward. inside. >> Stop. >> Don't resist. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. You guys, stop. Stop. Stop. Why are you doing this to me? Stop. Stop. Take her down. >> No, I don't. I don't. I DON'T. STOP. I'll stop. I'll stop. I'll stop. I'll stop. I'll stop. Turn around. >> I'll stop. >> Three for a central. >> Put your hand behind her back. YOU GUYS [screaming] >> I lost it. My god. I [ __ ] Okay. >> We got her detained. Can you listen to this little need a supervisor? Fire 55. Relax. I'll loosely. >> Don't touch it. I'm loosen. Are you ready to walk? >> Okay. Roll over side. >> Yep. All of this happened because the woman tried to run away. Shortly afterward, she was escorted into the patrol car and forced to listen to the consequences of her own actions. >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I just don't want to go to jail. You don't understand. I'm so sorry. I can't. [ __ ] man. I'm sorry. >> Try to run again. And your trespass guard like we're only allowing them to last a year. You had them since 22. You're trespassed from here, but we're working under a year time frame. So, your trespassing is going to start from today if you have a year. So, what what are your complaints of injury again? >> My knee a little bit. >> Which knee? >> My right leg. >> Right. >> My right one. >> Right knee. What else? >> And then my left um forearm and elbow and my wrist. for right knee, left forearm, left elbow, and left wrist, right? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I just I just hit my hand when I kicked her legs out. >> You fell in. I was still holding the handcuff and so I went >> You could see that the woman only seemed remorseful because she got caught, not because she truly felt guilty for what she had done. That was exactly why the officers began giving her advice about the choices she was making. >> I'm going to tell you, if you would have treated this a lot differently, like with some truthfulness and some cooperation, things would have went way different. I'm I'm pretty pretty sure cuz you seem like a calm person and I think you have a gift for Gab and if you just use that honesty and you'll go a lot farther than running and fighting. I don't know how you thought you were going to get away. There was two of us. You see how this is one of the fastest guys in our police department. >> Like literally, you were not going to get away from him. I like I kind of pied out to kind of like chase you in one direction, but you were never going to get away from him. No way. He like ran our obstacle course in like the fastest time, right? Yeah. He's the fastest guy in our police department. And that's in full uniform. We don't do it in running shoes and stuff. We do it in our full duty uniform. So, think about that next time. And I hope there isn't a next time. You're not using drugs, right? You don't look like a drug user. >> So, why are you stealing? Is it somebody gave you something? They needed something for money or what? >> No, I need something. >> You needed what? >> Get a vehicle that my lawn. >> So, you got to tow it out of there. I'm sure if you would have posted on Facebook, I need some help towing a car, somebody would have helped you. >> The woman was ultimately charged with shoplifting, trespassing, and resisting. One bad decision can quickly spiral into a situation that destroys your freedom, reputation, and future far more than the original mistake ever would. Worse still, the young mother still believed she was innocent even after fleeing with her child. >> DO NOT [screaming] MOVE. DO NOT MOVE. YOU WERE WATCHING. >> DO NOT MOVE. >> I'm 17. >> I am 17. >> Welcome to the consequences of your actions. >> I am 17 years old. >> On the 18th of July 2025, police received reports of a theft incident at TJ Maxx. The suspect, believed to be a woman, immediately fled after spotting officers, and her escape by vehicle was reportedly considered extremely dangerous. >> Heading out towards String Town. I'm going to have to shut it down. [laughter] >> 153, she's taking off. Just crashed into multiple vehicles. >> We're okay. >> You okay? >> How do we report this? >> Yeah, don't worry. We're going to take care of it. Okay. >> Did she hit you, too? behind. >> Okay. >> All right. Go ahead and pull pull straight across. Okay. Are you okay? >> Are you injured at all >> and just meet meet us right across? Okay. >> Thank you, sir. >> Walk through. I'm going to have three vehicles struck. >> 665. I want 104 of you and keep me updated on the location. >> Going left. Pretty sure that was the wrong vehicle. >> You're good. You're good. You can go. at the intersection of 665 and Boro 166. It's good hit. It's continuing westbound. >> The suspect was believed to have risked both her own safety and the safety of others, even deliberately driving off toward a creek area in an attempt to escape. >> I got the vehicle in the tree line. >> Stop. WHERE ARE YOU GUYS AT? >> Vehicle's [screaming] clear. >> RUN CITY, PLEASE. K9, YOU'RE [screaming] GOING TO GET BIT. ROCK HERE. [screaming] Rock here. True life. Mega, the vehicle stopped. It crashed into the tree line. No passengers in the vehicle. >> Rock out here. [screaming] Rocket here. >> They got to be in the tree line. I don't see him anywhere over here. Even the K9 unit was deployed and officers quickly tracked her down in a nearby swampy area. But what shocked them most was the way she still acted completely innocent. >> GET OUT OF HERE NOW OR YOU WILL GET BIT. ROCKET HERE. >> Why are you >> Because you ACT LIKE A DUMBASS. >> STOP. You hit so many DAMN CARS. DO NOT MOVE. DO NOT MOVE. YOU WEREN'T WE WATCH >> DO NOT MOVE. Do you understand me? I wasn't even driving. >> 1716. >> You know what I mean? You're going to jail is what I mean. >> I WASN'T DRIVING. >> I DON'T KNOW. You're still going to jail. >> For what? >> You know for what? >> I WASN'T DRIVING. >> STOP. Give me your child now. Yes. >> No. >> You were under arrest. >> I didn't do anything. >> I don't care. Give me your child. >> No, I didn't do anything. >> Stop. You need to stop. >> I did not do anything. >> It does not matter at this point. We're far before that. >> Let go of your child or you resisting arrest. I'm going to RELEASE MY DOG. >> AND I HAVE MY DAUGHTER right here. Your daughter's going to be fine, but I need to take custody of her right now. >> I did not. >> You are under arrest. >> I didn't do anything. >> It does not matter. >> What do you mean? >> You are under arrest. >> I did not do anything. What do you mean? >> You can I'm going to do something. >> Excuse you. >> Stop. >> No. >> Can I feed MY CHILD FIRST? YOU HAVE to sit right here and everything. Let me stop. >> Y'all can handcuff me. Let me feed her. What do you mean? >> Stop. Now you're putting your daughter in danger. You're under arrest. Separating her family member from the suspect became necessary after she appeared to use them as a shield against police. Yet, even after being arrested, she continued denying everything without showing a single bit of shame >> for hitting people, running. Shut your mouth. Shut your mouth. Spread your foot. >> Shut up. Spread your feet apart. >> I didn't even do >> You're full of >> I didn't even do You know how many people you could have hurt? >> I didn't even do Come on. I didn't even do nothing. over the post access to the opposite side of that creek bed that is from the address where we all got this statue. >> I did not do >> Shut your mouth. >> I didn't >> put your foot in. >> I didn't do >> Yeah, that's what I thought. Put your foot in the car. >> That's I didn't DO >> GET IN THE CAR. >> We got medics for the baby. >> Dude, restrain her. Get the RIP ON HER. >> THAT DON'T MAKE NO SENSE. >> BE QUIET. Get turn around. >> No. >> Turn around. She's got her handcuffs on. I'm going to put you on the ground. I'm going to drag you the out. No, we're not doing that. She's going to get drugged out and put in handcuffs. We're not facing her. >> Shut up. >> White out here. >> Hi, baby. You about to coco. It's okay. >> Shut up. >> You shut up. >> See, we ain't never going to see that child again. [clears throat] >> I promise that. >> For what? What was the point? >> Yeah. What was the point? >> What was the point? >> Cuz y'all thought we was stealing. >> Huh? >> That'd be an admission. Thank you very much. >> Enjoy your time in prison. No, actually we left the >> police had not even mentioned the alleged shoplifting yet, but the woman ended up exposing it herself, which only proved that all of her denials before and after were nothing more than pointless attempts to avoid responsibility. >> I wasn't even wet for what then? >> Come back on the water >> to swim. It is hot out, ain't it? WEAK AS my >> Nothing happened, >> dude. He pulled right. >> Ow. MY WRIST IS [ __ ] [screaming] >> STOP PULLING AWAY. >> GET OFF MY WRIST, [ __ ] White ass. My kids are racing. >> Yeah. Laugh all you want. >> Sit down. >> And I must have put them right back in front of me. Go ahead and pepper. That's all you want to do. That's all you >> deal with that. I'm going to sit here with her. >> I don't care. You can sit here. >> My hands is uncomfortable. I don't want my back. Relax back. Like, what is the problem now? Y'all just trying to be all on my because you would have touched me. Yeah, I'm obviously making you dirty ass. You couldn't wait to catch you a little black girl. MM- I'M SO PROUD OF YOU. Hold on. Did anybody tell they was proud of you today? Cuz I am. You can't wait to catch me, baby. Like, you off me. I'm already in here. You're going to sit here. >> You're going to sit here. >> I am sitting here saying like what? I am sitting here. >> Yeah, you're going to sit here. I'm going to prevent you put your handcuffs in front of your body because you're not going to you're not calling shots here. It's not how this is going to go. >> I will do whatever you want. >> You think that? >> Excuse you, kid. Get off of me. I'm 17 years old. >> I am 17. >> Welcome to the consequences of your actions. >> I am 17 years old. The 17-year-old driver was ultimately charged with failure to comply, child endangerment, obstructing official business, [music] hit skip, and multiple traffic related offenses after leading police on a dangerous escape attempt. [music] Trying to escape responsibility only made everything worse, turning a suspected theft into a dangerous situation that put both herself and the people around her at risk. Before moving on to the next theft, change the mood with this chaos. >> You have no reason to touch me. [screaming] >> NO, I'M A PASSENGER. LET ME GO. >> NO, >> you're not >> J. Stop. >> On the 19th of March 2026, the police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after the woman inside was involved in a traffic violation. But from the very first moments, she showed no intention of cooperating. >> Hello, buddy. >> How's it going today? >> All right. What's the problem? >> Good. I was pulling the order for not wearing the seat belts. All >> was on, buddy. >> It was not on. We both >> We got 4K cameras. It was 100% not on. I was watching. >> All right, buddy. >> All right. You got your uh license with you? >> Right there. You >> really going to tell me it wasn't on? >> I'm not going to stop being a gift. >> Okay. >> A seat belt? >> Yeah. >> You can think it's petty if you want, but it's not the same. Don't need a lie. Uh you still live in that? >> I am. >> Perfect. >> Can I go then? Because I live down the street and I want to >> No, but when we're done, you can go. >> I'm not the driver and I'm wearing my seat belt. >> I'm telling you can't leave. So, no. Sum it up. >> All right. Uh, do you have insurance on the car, sir? >> What's that? >> Do you have insurance on the car? >> It's in there, isn't it? This is >> a [ __ ] attitude for no reason. >> I don't feel good and I want to go home. I >> Okay. Sorry. Your driver wasn't wearing your seat belt. That's our fault. >> That's not my fault either, though. >> No, it's not. But you're involved in the trap stop. >> No, I'm just rules. >> You got to get up with it. A lot of people >> I just got to ride from the food pantry. My food's in the >> Okay, you can't leave. >> Okay, then call your supervisor. Ask him the rules because I'm still >> The rules are the law. >> I'm not doing anything. I'm at pass >> and you're not free to leave on a traffic stop right now. Okay. >> Call this a daytime supervisor on the shift. >> Well, no. You wanted a supervisor. So, I'm getting her a supervisor. >> I'm talking to him now. So, >> I know. I'm just letting you know. He said he didn't want problems. So, >> I'm still on duty and you want me that way. >> Can you roll your window up real quick, ma'am? >> Oh, no. It's hot. >> Okay. We're going to run the dog. So, you're going to roll the window up. >> It's It's a risk. >> I demand a supervisor. >> And a supervisor is on the way. From requesting a supervisor to placing her foot on the vehicle door while speaking with the officer, she clearly demonstrated that she was in a position of power. She even knew how to put herself into a victim position. >> You will not >> Huh? >> touch me. >> What? >> You will not touch me. >> You're going to be searched. >> Why would I BE SEARCHED? I'M A PASSENGER. CALL I WANT AN AMBULANCE THEN. YOU HAVE NO REASON to touch me. >> NO, I'M A PASSENGER. LET ME GO. >> BREATHE. >> NO. Let I just need to You need to take A DEEP BREATH. I HAVE Parkinson's disease and I WANT TO GO HOME. HE GAVE ME A RIDE FOR THE FOOD PANTRY. YOU WON'T TOUCH ME. YOU WON'T TOUCH ME. >> NO. NO. NO. YOU'RE TAKING DEMANDS of me. It's not fair. >> No, we're not taking I can't hear you. I'm sick. Literally, I'm sick. Please. No. I'm not listening. >> Come on. >> Thank you. Where's my heart? My hat. >> Okay. So, you're going to come back here with him? >> My I'm leaving. I'm going home. >> No, you're not. You're not. Or else you're going to be placed under arrest. >> Okay. Stand over here. You can see that the officers treated her carefully and in a relatively calm manner, but she responded in the opposite way. The situation escalated to its peak when her resistance during handcuffing turned everything into chaos. >> No person, CALL THE AMBULANCE. NO, I'M NOT DOING ANYTHING. >> NO, WE HAVE RESISTING [screaming] VIDEO. [screaming] NO. >> DO YOU WANT TO YOU'RE NOT KICKING. >> I'M NOT KICKING. CALM DOWN BEFORE you hurt yourself. Calm down before you hurt yourself. BEFORE YOU HURT YOURSELF, SORRY, PLEASE. Stand up. STAND UP. YOU'RE going to TOUCH ME. DON'T TOUCH ME. >> STAND [screaming] UP. YOU'RE GOING TO HURT YOURSELF. We don't want you to hit your head. spitting on me. Do you have >> We need to stand up. Yes, you can. I'm going to help YOU OUT. >> 3 2 1 UP. >> Stand up. >> Stand up. >> Stand up. >> Let my leg get it. STAND RIGHT BACK. Calm down. Calm down. >> Watch this bag. >> Help me. No. >> TAKE THE BAG OFF. >> NO. >> STOP. NO. >> NO. >> YOU'RE GOING TO GET TASED. STOP. WILL. YOU'RE GOING TO GET TASED. PUT ON YOUR SON. LAY YOUR HAND BEHIND HER BACK. YOUR HAND ME BACK. >> WILD. [screaming] >> The officers struggled to handcuff the woman. While the male driver also showed suspicious behavior, fearing that he might interfere. The officers were forced to issue a clear warning. >> You can lean against car and record all you want, but first off, she's instructed to get out and obviously when I told her what she was before you approached her. So you guys, you guys actually promote that with your knowledge of how you handle your public. It's your fault. It's all our fault. Okay. Uh, will you lean against my car like we're told you? >> Yeah. >> I'm only going to tell you one more time. I'm not You're still the one that my car cuz I'm car. >> You're still the one that's pulled over. >> You're still the one that's obviously being searched for narcotics. >> Work to pay your guys wages. >> Okay. Turn around. Put your hands way back. >> What have I done? I'm talking to you. You're sitting on the car and you're arguing with me. What have I done to you? >> This is simple. I'm tired of telling you what to do. >> I'm sitting on a car. What do I do to this dude? >> Well, we're going to figure that out here in just a minute. >> You don't listen. That's the problem. >> I'm sitting on the car literally. You're not. You're the one that's on the traffic stop, right? >> 15-year-old daughter. You remember that? >> Okay. I don't really care what I mean. Turn around. Spread your feet. >> Okay. I just three. Now we're ready. >> It's okay. >> Yeah, I know. So, let me get this right. Were you the one pulled over? >> Correct. Were you on trap stop? Correct. And were you the one sitting here just running back and forth like you think you on the show? >> No. I'm standing here by this when they come up to the car having a problem and I backed off the car. >> Well, how about you be helpful instead of sitting there being the problem all the time? >> I did. I told you. >> No, you're not. You're going back and forth in here trying to talk [ __ ] >> It's ridiculous. >> I've done nothing wrong with you. >> Okay, >> I want to adjust your legs. >> I don't want you in this position. >> It might have seemed like handcuffing her would calm the situation down, but it didn't. [music] Instead, she continued to make things more difficult and escalated the situation further, even engaging in more ERRATIC BEHAVIOR. >> I DON'T THAT WAY. I DON'T. [screaming] >> THIS IS THE NORMAL WAY I LIKE. MA'AM. MA'AM, >> we're trying to stop you from hurting yourself. >> All right. >> These are backwards. These are backwards. These are backwards. >> I have targeted, please. >> We're trying, BUT YOU'RE NOT LISTENING. >> I DON'T HAVE THE MUSCLE CONTROL. HELP YOU OUT. ALL RIGHT. THREE, TWO, ONE. There we go. >> Come over here, please. >> My glasses. Please don't stand here by this. Come over. You >> stand right here. >> I can't hold myself up. You don't understand. >> No. All right. Are you Jenny? >> No. >> You're not Jenny. >> YES. >> STOP. >> WELL, YOU ARE NOT REAL BRAIN, HUH? >> What the Okay. Remember 3 2 1 I can't see I need another >> Yeah, I give you just give random people rides or how do you know her? >> I've known her for quite a while, buddy. She's sick. >> Do you think she intentionally injured herself to try to present herself more as a victim? Of course, the body camera footage will serve as evidence against that claim. Meanwhile, the process of getting her into the patrol vehicle was also made increasingly difficult by her resistance. >> I can't. >> Ma'am, >> I'm going. I'M TRYING. I CAN'T. >> ALL RIGHT, THEN. WE'LL GET IN, MAMA. HERE. >> LET'S GO AND get up. >> I CAN'T GO. >> I CAN'T GET MY LEG. [screaming] IT'S THIS ONE. IT'S THIS ONE. I CAN'T DO IT. I CAN'T DO IT. YOU'RE PEEING. >> I can't do it. >> I can't. >> Okay. Okay. >> Pick that up. >> I can't. WHAT ARE YOU DOING? [screaming] THESE ARE BACKWARDS. MY HANDS are backwards. >> Nope. See? >> She didn't have meth on her. So, is there going to be anything on you down your pants or anything? What? >> I don't know what she had on. What's that got to do with me? >> Wait, you're the driver of the vehicle, right? That's your food pantry. I left work with tumble. >> You should know who you're giving a right to. >> A friend. A friend who smokes methamphetamine. What? >> Before. >> So what? >> The woman was charged with possession of methamphetamine, resisting [music] arrest, and obstructing law enforcement. Resistance during a traffic stop only escalates the situation. What starts as a minor violation can quickly [music] turn into serious criminal charges if a person refuses lawful instructions or continues to argue with officers. Cooperation and calm behavior are what prevent the situation [music] from getting worse. Next, this woman ended up sending herself to jail over just $20. >> And this is my money. And it's not her money. This is my money. I jail. >> Yes. >> Please back up. Please back up. >> That's my daughter. On the 16th of June 2024, officers received a call from a local coffee shop reporting that a theft had just taken place. To understand the situation more clearly, listen closely to the employees statement as she explained exactly what happened. >> Happened. The one lady just stole our money like our tips. >> Mhm. >> And we have video and picture how she put her hand and our money. I don't know. Also, >> it was today. Yeah, it was like maybe 20 minutes ago. I don't know why I can do like I don't know if you can where is our tips. >> Do you know how much it was that she took? >> So it for sure was around 20 bucks. Like of course it's not too much but still was $10, $5 for >> one like around the And we have the other um video for the next one. >> And today >> what's that? >> Are you watching her? >> Yeah. >> The next one. Uh this next one's different way like the other camera. >> So she went in there twice perhap twice. >> And >> do you want to press charges or you want her to go to jail for it? What is that you want? I will call my boss and I don't know like uh I have her name probably if it's her card. I don't know this is her name. >> It became clear that the suspect returned twice to take several$5 and $10 bills proving the theft was intentional. The shop also provided additional information from the card she used earlier to pay. >> I really don't know if it's really her card. I hope it's not stolen card because uh you know here she paid the same master card 0441 she bought yeah she transactions >> yeah she bought first the coffee and she was there she stayed with her daughter I don't know how it was and when I came to ask her sorry but you just stole our money and she was so crazy she just wait no don't do it >> oh so you confronted her >> yeah I just asked her, can you wait? I'll show you your video or photo how you stole our money. And she said, I did. >> So, so the tips the tip is for you and and her, right? >> So, really, y'all are the victim? >> Yes. >> So, do you want to press charges? Do you want her trespass? What is it you want me to do? >> It's up to you. >> She'll be here so soon. I don't know. I wish to explain you more like >> but you're you're the victim. >> Yeah. >> It's not up to your boss. >> Yeah. But is it I mean I don't want to >> if it was like if if it was like merchandise or anything like that. Yes. Cuz the boss is your boss would be the victim. >> But if it was a tip jar, the tip jar is for you. >> So you're you're the victim. Around 15 minutes later, officers located the female suspect nearby using the images they had collected, and she appeared completely caught off guard by their arrival. >> Yes. I don't know what you're talking about. >> Okay. So, I got called to a coffee place at Y'all Were. >> Yeah. >> And do you want to talk to me about what took place there? >> Yeah. We stopped in, we ordered coffee, paid for it, then I went back to the counter and I bought a a gift card, which I have the receipt for. Okay, >> we were sitting there drinking our coffee and then that the girl with the dark hair came over and started speaking in whatever her native language is and like she never really said anything. She just kept speaking in her native language. >> Okay. She said something about money, right? Money taken from somewhere. >> I I guess she's talking about her tip thing on the countertop. >> Correct. I didn't touch her tip thing. I She was there the whole time. >> Okay. You understand there's videos there, right? >> Yeah. >> So, do you want to think about this whole thing? Cuz everything was filmed. >> You didn't touch any You didn't touch any of the tip jar. >> No. Why would I? She's standing right there. >> And her her coworker was right there. >> Okay. Are you being honest right now? >> Yes, sir. I am. >> So, the cameras are lying when they saw you going into the tip jar twice. I didn't take her gift anything from her tip jar. I have my receipt from the purchase of the card and this is my money and it's not her money. This is my money. The woman denied everything, unaware that officers already had clear evidence against her. Now take a look at how she reacted. >> What do you call that? I can't even see it. >> Look again. Taking the cash out. Money coming out. Okay. It's like I'm telling you there's cameras and you're a very dishonest person cuz I'm giving you the chance to tell me what really happened. >> I told you what happened. >> Okay. So, I'm going to need you to turn around. You're going to go to jail for theft. >> Jail? >> Yes. >> You back up. Please back up. >> That's my daughter. >> Give that to your daughter if you want the wallet. What do you call that? >> Look again. Taking the cash out. Money coming out. Okay. Look, I'm telling you, there's cameras and you're a very dishonest person cuz I'm giving you the chance to tell me what really happened. >> I told you what happened. >> Okay. Give that to your daughter if you want the wallet. >> Yes, ma'am. We're not playing games. Ma'am, >> please let go of the purse. >> I can't. I'm trying to close it. >> Okay. >> She had no way to argue once the evidence was shown. Yet, she still showed no shame, immediately begging for a way to avoid the charges after being arrested. >> Can I go back and give her $20? >> Please. >> I mean, I >> How did you guys get here? >> What's that? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> All right. Hold on. No, she was speaking in whatever her name is. >> Did this happen at Funky Rooster at 700 of uh it was Caroline the coffee place. >> Oh, okay. >> Can my daughter come? >> No, she's she's not getting arrested. >> Well, how is she going to find me? >> We only have one Joe. We'll give her the information. >> I guess my parents Who? Who am I? Who's on the phone? She >> Oh, okay. How is she working? >> We only have one jail. We'll give her the information. Well, I guess apparently this is owner of the place. >> Hello. >> Right after the arrest, officers tried explaining to her daughter what her mother was about to face, but she also seemed to view the entire situation as something insignificant. >> All right, ma'am. She's going out to Mon Maro County Detention Center on Stock Island. >> So if you look there's Okay, listen. There's only one jail here. She's going to have to spend the night. She'll go to first appearance tomorrow and she'll talk to the judge. The judge will decide whether or not she can uh bond out and then you can uh figure out some way to to uh get that taken care of. Okay. My suggestion right now is that you go back to the hotel room. >> I don't know what transpired. I don't know what happened. >> I didn't do anything. >> But whatever you guys did, >> I trust my mom. I didn't do anything. >> I mean, apparently you did, ma'am, because >> I didn't. >> We We don't just get call for no reason. >> You were aware. Okay. >> No, I wasn't. >> So, listen. We don't get called for no reason. >> I wasn't aware. >> If they're alleging that you stole something, why would you like take off running from the place? That's not a normal reaction. Okay. >> Why is that? >> Normal reaction. You tell me, "Hey, I'm not stealing." Call the cops if you want. You wait for the cops. You don't take off running when you're confronted about stealing cash. >> Running though. People walking around. >> Okay. You walked away, man. We're not going to argue at this. You walked away. >> Yeah, because I was scared and it was insulting. >> That That doesn't make sense. Any person that I know, if you accuse them of stealing >> because I didn't do it. >> What's your phone number, ma'am? >> 646. >> I'm going to head over there real quick. You good? >> Yeah. This is going to be the Bravo Fox shot from this morning with the mother. And I gave them my ID and they they went open the gates but they stole my vehicle and I told this is my vehicle. >> Level two. >> Level two. Yeah. >> We're going to stand up on three. Ready? 1 2 three. >> So what what what's going on? How come you hit multiple cars? >> They're running to me, sir. >> Well, then why is the damage at the front of the car and nowhere else? >> Because they didn't open the gate. She asked me. She run into me. She said she don't she don't want to open the gate. Instead of admitting what she had done, she claimed that multiple vehicles accidentally drove into her. One of the victims then revealed what had actually happened. >> I was coming from my break. >> Two agents called me and said, "You need to call the police. She's trying to get out. I'm rushing. I" And I have cameras cameras and everything. Get out of the car. I said, "Hey, listen. Relax." >> I drove this way. I didn't even know this was her. I'm driving. She so fast puts reverse, slams into my car, goes for it, slams into my car again. And I get out of my car and I'm slamming on her car to get out because I'm like, she's going to hit someone. I have customers walking everywhere. I was I was >> You run into me. You run. >> Shut up. Shut up because you nearly killed me. I need you to shut the up. I don't know what you want. >> Relax. Hey, relax. Relax. >> No problem. >> Relax. Meanwhile, officers also investigated another crime as the vehicle the woman was sitting in was believed to have been stolen. >> She had no permission to enter the vehicle. >> Uhhuh. I just got >> I would really like to look at the camera. >> My key is open. My own keys open the vehicle. >> This is your car. You flew into here. I dealt with you this morning. This is not your car. >> Where did she hit you at? Are you injured here? >> No, no, no. Hit me like I was in the car. I'm fine. She just slammed into me. >> Were any of the other vehicles occupied that she didn't? >> No. The one >> and she didn't slam into them. She was reversing. You'll see it on the camera when she was reversing. She just like slides past it. Oh, okay. >> Hold on. Let's see it. There it is. See, she just hit the out of me. >> What did she do after that? >> So, I'm trying to move and then she hits me again in that corner when I move forward. Oh, that's another witness over there. She saw >> she into that. >> She was driving behind you and she >> That's me trying to run after her to try to get her out of the phone. >> I want you to jail or what? I want to go to jail. >> You want to go to jail? Yeah, because they said I stole the car. They don't want to steal my car. >> Why do you want to go to jail? >> Let me go there. So, let's go. >> Her attitude showed no sign of remorse at all. Even when officers gave her a chance to explain herself, she still tried to avoid responsibility. >> I just want to >> Can you tell me what happened? >> Can you take these handcuffs off? >> No, we cannot take those handcuffs off. Can you tell me what happened? >> Because I'm confident. >> How did you get into that vehicle? >> I had my keys for the vehicle. You have the keys of the vehicle. >> My keys. >> Your keys. Okay. >> And then did you hit the barriers? >> Yeah, because I asked the girl to open it and she slam it. She didn't really open it. >> How did you get in this parking garage to get to your car? >> The entrance? >> The entrance? >> Yeah. >> And then how did you find the keys to your car? >> I had it in my purse. I always carry around my keys where wherever I'm going. >> Okay. And then what happened after that? After that I they asked me to see my ID. I tell them it's my vehicle. >> Wait, you just got in your car and all of a sudden people showed up at your car? >> Yeah, they started telling me, "Can I see your ID?" >> So, did you drive out of the parking spot that I was at? >> Yeah. One girl asked me to see their ID. >> Where did you drive to after that? >> I didn't drive anywhere. I just drive around the parking lot. >> So, so you did drive around the park. >> They didn't want me to get out. They was blocking me from getting out. >> Okay. >> They all started centering me. >> Okay. So, what did you do after you hit the barriers? >> I drove around the parking lot trying to get out. >> Okay. >> And then when the same girl who made the complaint about me, she run into the back of the vehicle. She drove up behind me and run into the back of the vehicle. >> You were in front of her? >> She drove up fast behind me and run into me. >> She ran into you? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, she ran into you over there. You sure you didn't hit her? like she ran into that. >> She said she's calling the police and then I >> And then you call the police. >> I called the police, too. >> Okay. So, you were you still in the car? >> Yes. >> Okay. What happened after that? >> When I stopped the truck in front by the the exit and then she came up to the city, open up the doors, come out of the vehicle. The police came and took me out of the vehicle and arrested. In the end, the woman was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage, criminal mischief, and reckless driving. Surveillance footage showed the women shopping completely normally, but one woman in a gray shirt made the move that changed everything. She secretly slipped a bra into her bag before walking away as if nothing had happened. Moments later, police stopped the women outside, turning the situation into a tense confrontation. >> POLICE ON THE GROUND. GET ON THE GROUND right now. >> On the ground. >> Down. >> Get on the ground. >> I want this right there. >> Get on the ground. >> Get out of the car now. Get out of the car now. >> Stay right there. >> Okay. I don't >> Put your hands behind your back. Put James behind your back. Put James behind your back now. Here. >> Drop the phones. >> Drop them on the ground. >> Put them down. >> I don't care. Drop them. >> Turn around. Turn around. Turn around. >> I didn't do anything. Then I talk about it. >> Right now. You're under arrest. >> For what? >> I don't care. >> You got to cooperate with me. >> I am. I promise I'm not moving down. >> Put your hand behind your back. >> Stand up. >> I'm not moving. >> All three good. >> They're all right here. >> All three were successfully detained as officers gathered information on the suspects. Police even uncovered another violation involving the woman in the gray shirt. Yet, she showed no sign of guilt. Philadelphia. >> And you told me I was going to be detained cuz I didn't take anything. >> Well, investigate that, right? >> I don't know if I understand that, but I'm talking about the >> She's a driver as well, isn't she? >> Yes. >> Okay. It just says she's suspended indefinitely. >> What does that mean? >> Oh, she's the driver. That means your license is suspended. >> She'll be the driver. >> Could be various things. would be insurance, registration, toll fees. >> Toll fees. >> Yeah. If you haven't been paying a toll be many things. >> Do they give you a ticket for that? >> Yeah. >> And also your license will be taken from you as well. >> Okay. Then how do I get them reinstated? Go to the DMV. >> You got to figure out whatever the issue is. >> Mhm. >> Go to the DMV. Do you have insurance? >> No, I don't have a car. This is my one card. If someone else shoots with you, you get arrested for that. >> I mean, I don't know. We got all three of you could be arrested. >> The woman's questions seemed aimed at taking responsibility for the two others with her. But that became difficult after they were also seen ignoring the theft. At this moment, their family members arrived at the scene, forcing police to explain everything that had happened. Let me let me let me talk to the >> ma'am. Can I have this my car? >> The way it came out was as a retail theft where the three >> Oh, >> stealing stuff from Walmart. >> Uhhuh. It's my niece. That's her mom. >> Okay. Oh, which one is which? >> That's my daughter and that's my god daughter and that's my niece. >> So, this is your niece. >> Right. It's her daughter. >> This is your daughter. Okay. She's how old? 20 right now. 20 21. >> This one right here. >> She's 22. >> 22. Okay. And then the other one back here >> is 16. Uhhuh. That's what this young lady told us and she said she's 17. >> So that's what I was starting to explain. I just wanted to figure out who was who in play. >> So they were here >> came out as a call of retail theft which is they were stealing stuff from Walmart. >> Okay. >> Walmart confronted. >> Did you want me to talk to you? [laughter] >> That's why you know you're asking me. So I don't want you to lose anything in the conversation because it can do two different things. So they're coming out. Walmart confronted them at this door over here by the pharmacy. >> They gave up the merchandise. And when we approached, they all ran and got in the car, >> which then they wound up parking here. I don't know how we got here, >> but I know that >> um >> they were chased up to here. Yes. And this is >> based on the officer's explanation, the attempt to flee had turned a simple shoplifting case into a felony situation. What made it even more serious was the involvement of a minor, causing the other family members to seemingly push hard to clear her of blame. >> So, she's probably going to go to jail, see for community service hours. >> I don't know if they choose community service or whatever, then that's what they choose. I mean, that's on them. >> Just over 21. That's crazy. Even if even if somebody else gets too, you still go to jail for that. >> For what? >> Even if somebody else, you go to jail for that. >> If somebody else was stealing? >> Yeah. Like cuz I didn't have nothing. You talking about she was going to go to juvenile stuff. You didn't have nothing on us. >> That's Someone's probably in there right now. Another officer watching back the video footage cuz they have they have cameras all over it. that much. Is she out on bond for anything? >> No, she not being >> Yeah. So, it it'll be real minimal. >> What's minimal? $100. >> And I don't know what the bond schedule is right off. But it's >> Why she got to sleep? I don't want my baby to be sleeping. Why she can't get out? >> Uh, well, it has to do with first appearances. So it takes a while to process through >> 2017. So it can take up what to 7 hours just to kind of go through that system if that makes sense. >> Uh but they have the option to release on a bond if that makes sense. >> But there needs to be something that has to happen and we don't deal with any of that stuff. So that's >> if they get a merchandise event, why did y'all even go after them? >> Well, it's still a theft. >> You understand what I'm saying? So I still went through with the active effect. Shortly after, officers held a discussion to determine what would happen to the young girl. And this was the decision they made. >> This basically summarizes that your child has committed a delinquent act, which is in parentheses a crime. >> Um, if they were adults, they'd go to jail, but because they're not adults, we're instead of taking them to the juvenile assessment center because it's such a trivial crime, >> Jack. >> Exactly. >> Yeah. >> Um, our policy states that we're issuing them this. However, this is also your guys's choice as parents. Um, you can accept this. Basically, it means within seven days, you got to call the juvenile court system [laughter] and see what's the plan. You service, write a letter, I don't know. They make the rules over here. Again, though, that's your guys' decision. And as well, they have to sign and agree with that too, saying that they're going to do that. Whatever those standards are, >> if they don't abide by those standards after you guys call and the courts will give her more punishment, whatever it may be. Um, but for our sake, we give it up to the juvenile ascent a juvenile court system. >> That's just paraphrasing all of this. Right. >> Okay. >> Um, right here is this phone number here. I wish I had a highlighter. This is barely seen. That's the phone number that you guys are going to have to call within 7 days. Okay. >> All right. >> If you could Did we already grab um at least one of your yours and either one of yours um ID? cuz on a report we also have to put that we gave them to you guys. We didn't just >> The adult suspect was charged with retail theft, fleeing and eluding police, driving with a suspended license, and contributing to the delinquency of two minors. The moment a simple theft turned into a reckless escape, the consequences became far bigger than any of them expected. >> You have the receipt for this stuff? >> Yes. >> Okay. I'm sorry. I apologize. I really didn't. I scanned my brush. >> On the 17th of January 2025, police received a report call from Walmart regarding a suspected shoplifting incident. The suspects were believed to be a woman and a man who had failed to pay for all the items they had taken. These were the events that unfolded as police approached the suspects, >> please. >> Okay. >> Okay. We're going to walk back to the asset protection office. Okay. >> Okay. >> So, right now, you're beyond the rest of retail. >> I paid for everything. You do. >> We're going to follow them. Okay. I I had to pay for my Are you kidding me? >> Hey, don't play games. >> I'm not. >> Okay. So, we're going to follow them to the asset protection office. Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. We can >> um Can I get this paid for so we can take my truck? >> You can worry about that here in a minute. Okay. >> Okay. So, hold it then or how does this work? >> Did you pay for that yet? >> I'm trying. I'm getting it. My car's locked. I can't get it unlocked. So, my friend's taking care of it. >> Leave it. We'll We'll take care of this. >> All right. Perfect. >> I'll see you in a minute, I guess. Or >> Yeah. Yep. >> Why is he coming to you? >> Hey, don't worry about it. Don't be mauy. >> Oh, I'm more than mad cuz I got receipts for everything. >> That's perfectly fine. >> Both suspects denied the allegations that were raised. And even after being taken to the police station, they still showed confidence as if they had been prepared in advance. >> I don't mind. I got one on here. >> It's okay. You got your receipt for the transaction. >> Which one? I did a couple. I have several receipt you grabbed off of the register. You walked. >> I just got grab that for fetch cuz I use a fetch point. One second. >> Not yet. Did you drive here? >> No. Did you drive here? >> Okay. >> Okay. There's stuff in here that's ours. >> Okay. And where? >> What is in my purse? >> The perfume. >> That's mine from Bath and Body Works. So, please look again. Yeah. We don't steal [ __ ] We really buddy we're shooting. >> You have the receipt for this stuff. >> Yes. I've never been caught for stealing a thing in my life. >> Oh, this is what the one I took off for the badge points for the records that I pulled off the register. That was this one. Okay, there you go. Then I got these are these. >> Okay, these this is not wrong here. This is this >> we were just paying for the dog food oil change the candles and then there was other stuff. >> This is the family. >> Receipts were presented as if they would clear her of the accusations but in reality additional stolen items were brought out forcing her to change her statement. >> Was switched very obviously. >> Yeah, I I'll admit that stealing. So you can say I didn't steal all you WANT BUT >> OKAY. NO, I didn't. one. I wasn't going to say that I didn't do that, but he had no part of it. He didn't even know what was going on. >> He was with you the entire time. >> No, he wasn't. That last half, you can watch. He walked back the entire time. >> Back to water. >> Ma'am. Ma'am, what's your first name? >> Abby Malo. >> Abby, please stand up and come over here, please. >> Okay. Put your hands behind your back. Reach up fast. Okay. But really, he had nothing. She had no idea I was going to do anything. I promise. >> Not that my promise means anything, but it doesn't. >> This way doesn't tighten up on you. >> Yep. >> Anything else on your person that's going to hurt me publicly speak to me? >> I believe so. >> The man buried his face in his hands, seemingly ashamed of the woman's lies. However, she was not and instead began offering apologies without showing any real remorse. >> Oh, that one I honestly totally never forget. Sorry. >> I got this. All right. >> You got 11 out of 14. >> Okay. I'm sorry. I apologize. I really didn't. I scanned my brush. >> I scanned those. >> Is that your Dodge truck out there, sir? >> Yeah, it's mine. >> Okay. I I make sure I just >> Yes, we just got it literally a day ago. Actually, no, it was later today. It was last night. We're not going to be able to get the plate till tomorrow. >> Why are we tax switching today? >> I'm not paying for everything. >> I honestly some of the stuff I really did forget. I really didn't mean to take. I will be 100%. The tax switch I honestly did do. >> Okay. >> And I'm sorry for it, but I >> Do we have the money to pay for everything? >> Yeah, I can take care of it. I was trying to pay for it whenever you told me to reward later. >> No, I know that the rest of that stuff, but the others I do. I can pay for it. If you'd like me to pay for it, I'll pay for it right now. >> I was just I'm just curious. Um, we have you have cash or credit cards? >> I have my card. >> Nate has my cards. >> Okay. >> It was clear that what she said were only late apologies after being caught as she had initially tried to avoid responsibility. Now, let's continue and look at her own self assessment. Was it truly sincere or not? Honestly, it was I wanted to get a couple of things I needed. I shouldn't have. I was wrong. Anyways, >> were you tag switching? >> Just some little stuff that I shouldn't have. Even that was stupid to do. 110% wasn't worth this at all. But before you try to say I was doing a felony amount, can you please double check back there with what we're >> eat? Thank you. >> No, I'm just saying, did you charge me? It was there was stuff being scanned back there cuz that was $156. I had a hund of it paid already and then the stuff got stopped. The perfume and stuff in there is my Bath and Body Works. That was truly a mistake. I meant to pay for that one. >> That's the part, >> but that was truly a like I didn't mean to. >> That's >> I meant to pay for it. >> Truly. >> Um I taxes. I paid for some of it, right? >> They're only going to charge you for the things you did not pay for and the things you taxed. >> Okay. >> Based on the woman's behavior, the store also made its decision regarding how to handle the case. >> Um, you are formerly trespassed from all Walmart owned property that includes Sam's Club, that includes Murphy's Oil, that includes all Walmarts in the world. So, you can't go to Carbonale and start shopping. If you get caught stealing carbon nail, you're going to get charged burglary. >> Okay. >> So, you are definitely charged. >> Okay, that's fine. Somebody talk to me like really about business and like just about it real quick cuz I paid for 100 of that stuff and I'm trying to see what's qualified and how that works then. >> I paid for 100 of the stuff back. So it was 100 I think 50 back at the automotive counter of the stuff I was trying to pay for which would be like oil change would be the dog food would be the candles would be you know what I mean that stuff and there was a Sally's pl is a misdemeanor >> and >> Okay. Um your other stuff that you paid for we'll just give it back to Nathan. That way he can have it. Okay. >> Okay. Perfect. But the hundred was taken off at the register and I owed $53 still on that balance. And that's when he told me, "Okay, don't take it. Don't worry." >> The woman showed no sense of guilt from the lesson. And even while being escorted away, she only cared about herself. >> On this way, please. an eight. I don't know where it is. Excuse me. Can you think it's my hair out of my eye? It's right there in this eye. It's just Can you wipe my forehead? Are you allowed to touch me? I have no diseases. Thank you. >> On this side, everything in it. Can you call him by chance to have him ring my phone? He's going to be able to get you out tonight, but wait a second. >> In the end, the man was believed to be innocent, while the woman was charged with retail theft and permanently banned from Walmart. This situation showed that making excuses after being caught did not erase wrongdoing and avoiding responsibility only made things worse. True accountability mattered more than empty apologies. >> Self check out and check the tag and pay 50 cents for >> in front of a whole bunch of people or just >> the other people. Yeah. like >> I'm not going to lose my job. And >> on the 12th of April 2025, police received a call from a retail store reporting a theft. The suspect, Merrick Lennon, a teacher, had attempted to purchase a $45 cup for just 50. Here's what unfolded when the officers arrived on the scene. >> Hi, man. How are you? >> Hello. What's going on, brother? Good. We have >> You stopped her. Is that her? >> No, hold on. Literally is like No, not this one. Not this one. like 45. >> What's an aala? >> It's a cup. >> Like one of those fancy cups. >> Yeah, >> like one of those like Stanley's. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> But you have like multiple incident with us. It's not that's not like the first I for all the incident and stuff. >> No, he's wrong. You can do this one. You have to do the other complaints for the other stuff. >> Yeah. >> How did she try to take it? She go through self check out and switch it. I change the tag and pay 50 cents for it. >> 50 cents? >> Yeah. >> Where's the tag switch? >> Uh he was on the cup. Where's the Where's the cup? A ticket switch. 50 cents for a $44.9 cup. >> This wasn't the first time the woman did something like this. This time she tried a more elaborate price tag switch. The police immediately told her why she failed. I'm >> going to teach you a little secret. You ever try to break into Fort Knox? You know how there's like five bajillion cameras everywhere around Fort Knox? Target's the same way. They have cameras in every single aisle. This is the worst place for us to sell something from. Plus, they have all these people working and you're a teacher or you were a teacher or you were something with the board of ed here. Stand up. >> Number one, if you understand why we stopped you today, you came to the store much time without paying. Second one, you are being come back to the store in 4 years. >> You cannot come back to >> your trespass. You are banned from return to this property. If you come back, they will sign complaints against you for criminal trespass. Receipts ID receipt. You have the receipt. I got the receipt. I got I got one receipt and another one. >> Just one receipt. >> You should pay for the rest of the stuff normally. >> You can go in my office. Would you like us to put your stuff in your car for you? >> You can come with us. >> We'll walk you. >> You pay for this, right? >> Yes. >> Would you like us to put that in your car for you? Cuz you can't come back here. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Shortly after, the woman was taken to the police station where she began talking more, asking for forgiveness, and showing some remorse. >> You're going to tell me something that I don't know, and I'm sorry. I don't mean you're [snorts] 100 You're 100% correct. I don't You could look at I don't have any prior anything. That's the only thing. And I don't know why I spend money on all I do is shop. >> We don't take it personal. >> No, I'm No, no, I I get it. Listen, I see this all the time. I can't believe that this is something I have a situation to put myself in. It's my >> It's the last time, right? >> Mhm. >> It's the last time. >> Do you have anything on you? >> Nothing money. >> No, I don't know. >> You want to explain to me? I told you already. >> No, I No, I'm not. No, I'm saying does like does this people have to know about this? Like I'm like >> real quick, let me I have to ask you some questions. >> Okay. Please tell me this is a joke. Did you get arrested? >> What? Please tell me this is a joke. Did you get arrested? >> Okay. Do you know what happens with something like this? >> Uh we fingerprint you, take a picture, then I guess it just depends on the judge if they let you go or if they take you to bring kind for the night. Although the woman appeared completely remorseful, in reality, she was not reflecting on the wrongfulness of her actions, she was concerned about her lost reputation, as her next statements clearly showed. >> I'm embarrassed enough that it did. >> I just don't want my kids, you know. >> Okay, got it. >> To text my husband back. >> What do you want to tell us? >> That >> I'll We'll do it for a recorded line instead. Is that okay? I just don't want him to worry. >> I can only do it on a recorded line cuz you're under arrest right now. Not free. >> No, I are Are you okay with that? I'll call him right now. >> And just telling them >> You can tell them whatever you want. You can tell them you're here. What happened? I'll give you a ride back to Target after this. I'll talk to my boss about it. >> I swear I knew that you might do this. I'm not a thief. Yes, I did take water bottles, but I am not a flight risk. I know. I know. I'm paraly. I think you're more paranoid than anything cuz I'm no I don't >> I just don't want my honestly don't want my kids to know. >> I just to be clear. Um you walked in with that. Did you walk in with this this little this little code this little barcode thing? >> No, I don't think so. >> Cuz you were scanning something else, but you were mug the big mug in your shopping cart. The >> No, I think they put that on my They put that sticker on in the Target. the sticker on there. She brought it back in. I didn't stick to her arm. >> What item were you scanning? >> It was revealed that the woman had swapped the $45 cups price tag for a cheaper one. The police clarified where she had obtained that tag. >> You were scanning something that was like 50ents, >> right? >> What was that? >> Oh, it was a cup. >> A cup? Like a plastic cup? Like a cheap plastic cup? >> Yeah. >> Okay. 50 cent plastic cup. How is it only 50 cents? That's what [snorts] I'm trying to figure out. >> I don't know. >> And then you took the uh big metal mug, right? I don't I don't care. It's I don't take it personal. I just have to make sure. >> Yeah, >> it's accurate. That's all. I'm not Mr. Target, you know. >> We're not the police. >> But that wasn't on my They put the sticker there, so I don't know. >> All right. Well, >> it's now now it's irrelevant. I just want to ask you. >> So, I think it was I think they said the cup was 404. Maybe he tried to accuse me of selling cups. That I don't do. >> Let's just stick with what happened now. >> I I just wanted to tell my husband to to go to be able to take me back to Target. >> Hello, >> Eric. >> Yeah. >> Hi. Listen, I'm at the police station. They're just um fingerprinting me and stuff like that. I'll explain to you the whole story. >> Sir, we can't give you a time right now. We have a lot of paperwork to do. It was evident that she was even embarrassed to speak about her actions in front of her own family and she grew anxious about her upcoming court appearance due to concerns over her reputation >> in front of a whole bunch of people or just >> it'll be other people. Yeah. Like >> I'm [applause] not going to lose my job and >> we're not going to sell your job. >> What? >> We're not telling your job cuz you want to come with somebody to talk or No, just >> it's really up to you. >> I don't really know how the system works. That's why he's asking. I'm sorry. I mean, if you feel more comfortable with your husband or someone, you can bring them. >> No, I feel more comfortable with like somebody who knows >> like a lawyer. >> Well, yeah. Public defender, lawyer. Sure. >> That's right. >> Yeah. I'll talk to him in a minute. >> And when I go to court, that's when they decide that you'll have to go to jail. >> Yeah. >> I I doubt it. So, you never been in jail before? You never I'm sure your your rape isn't that long. Isn't really is nothing really. I was like, I have a >> Well, everyone does tickets. >> Oh, >> like speeding tickets, stuff like that. >> Oh, I don't that has to be from a very very very long time ago. >> It's going to be fine. I don't want to, you know. >> Okay. No, I get it. >> I'm not a judge, but it's going to be like fines and it's going to be one of those slip on the wrist. I hope this is the last time. In the end, the woman was charged with shoplifting, pretending to be remorseful while focusing only on reputation rather than the wrongdoing itself can lead to serious consequences. Attempts to manipulate or deceive the system, even in small ways, are rarely worth the risk. >> Tell you is you are going to jail for the theft. The police and said this is what happened to me. I'm abandoned here. I need help. On April 8th, 2025, officers received a call from a Walmart after a woman had been detained for shoplifting. This was what unfolded when they arrived at the scene. Um, my sergeant and the detectives and I explaining the situation, okay? Not the theft issue, the other issues that you're currently being stuck in the middle of, right? I at least wanted him to be in the loops. That way, we can start trying to help you anyway we can. Okay? The theft issue that we're talking about is something that you're going to have to deal with as an individual. Okay? But I'm going to work with you as much as I can on everything. And um we're going to try to figure out what this dude's deal is. Okay. >> My friends were heading here to get me. Um I don't know if they're here or not. >> Okay. >> They were on my phone, >> but I didn't know if they showed up or not. >> I have no idea. >> I worried they leave me and I get ready if I get to go home or >> Okay. >> Whatever. Cuz I have to wait like four or five hours. >> Okay. What I'm going to tell you is you are going to jail for the theft. Okay? I will let you reach out to your friends and let them know so they're not worried sick about you and you don't have to waste a jail phone call on reaching out to them. Okay. That way you can call somebody that can either help you or an attorney or something like that. Okay. Okay. >> The woman was believed to have stolen a highly valuable PlayStation 5 and she admitted to the act herself, but she only seemed concerned with how she could leave. How do you know my bail will be? >> With you being an out oftowner, bail is going to be 5,000 or 10%. The theft is a misdemeanor to the first degree and the bonds are standard. Okay. Now, that being said, it's Tuesday. They just had initial appearances in court today. They might be able to get you in sooner. So, you might get your bond lowered or something like that. It's up to the judge. I'm not going to charge you with having the math bubble. You're very honest and forthcoming on that. But hey, I'll be honest with you. It it's comes down surely to the dollar amount. If somebody comes in here and steals 50 bucks worth of food or something, they get a summon and they got to go to court. And we're talking it wind up being $800 I'm sorry $788.32 is is what the value is for pre-tax on all this stuff. That's a lot of money. A lot of money. And Amber, I wish you would have called. If you felt like somebody forced you to come in here and take a PlayStation 5, this would have been a significantly different conversation if you called the police and said, "This is what happened to me. I'm abandoned here. I need help." And then this conversation would very likely be so different. but instead you held on to this, for lack of a better term, a-holes PlayStation for him after he abandoned you >> and we we would have never known who you were. You would have left here and we would have tried to figure out who you were on this video and maybe we did, maybe we didn't. Maybe you would have had a warrant in a month. I don't know. So, it was revealed that the woman's actions had been carried out under the control of someone else. Faced with this reality, she began to break down mentally, but the officers had to continue pressing on to make her recognize her wrongdoing. >> And I do feel for you. I really do. I'm not just saying that. >> But you got yourself in a heck of a spot here. Now, Patrolman Fe, I don't know if he explained to you when he talked to you in my back seat. One of the things that he specializes in is human trafficking. I know that you're saying that the answer is no. And I'm going to be honest with you, I don't 100% believe you. I think this Christopher Troll guy is doing something like that, at least similar to you. And what I would encourage you to do is think really hard on it. And if there's something you want to talk more about, ask for Fe. He has the resources and the knowhow to help you get out of that. Okay. Shortly after the store issued its decision regarding her actions. >> We are going to be trespassing you from all Walmart locations. I think includes parking lots. Um I understand the situation that you were in. Um Walmart's policy is clear on that. Um, your subject does not match forever, but I believe the minimum is 2 years. That's where you would submit things of that nature, but it might come up. >> Is that your legal name? >> That was my um name. >> Okay. So, is that do you When's the last time you got a driver's license or ID? I get in trouble. >> It's so it's not >> my name. My first name and >> okay. >> I was just clarifying with Miss and yes, her legal name is Amber. >> Did you copy that? >> Yeah, it's that's her legal name according to the state. 25. >> Good. >> Did you get a time frame of when they came into town? >> The investigation continued as more clues about the other suspect were gradually being uncovered. >> 13. We have the video of the vehicle. It's going to be late 90s, early 2000s model. How many packs of cars he took? >> No. Is it? >> A lot. >> 13 to 25. What was the girlfriend's name then? >> The girlfriend and the vehicle is registered to a Four. >> How many? >> Four of them. I think those are like $30 a pop. Yeah, that might be a 16. >> At that point, as their shift was nearing its end, the officers decided to take the woman into custody. On the way, she continued to cooperate, providing information about her accompllices. We're unable to locate a nothing in house, nothing through leads, contacted. They don't have a record of anyone by that name. Clear. >> I just forgot. See what it's on Facebook. We'll look for it. I'll find it. All right. >> Thank you guys. >> Can you get a description? >> You never actually seen? >> Yes. She's kind of like my build. >> She got really long curly hair. >> Okay. Um, how old is she? Um, I think she's about 30, 32 maybe. >> Okay. >> She's a little bit older than Chris. A little bit younger than me. >> Okay. >> 13's going to be a similar build as my 21 with long curly hair, early 30s. She was ultimately charged with first-degree misdemeanor retail theft. Even under pressure or influence, making the wrong choice still carries consequences. Thinking twice and seeking help early could prevent everything from spiraling out of
