I'm showing you everything and you're trying to push me even more. I'm telling you, you guys have been bothering me. My love, don't. I have a thumb battery on police officers. You guys have been harassing me. >> Talk to you when you're >> You think that's funny? He is the devil. I rebuke you. I reveal you. >> Knock it on. We're going to stop and spray you with spray. >> I don't care. >> When professional thieves are not just criminals, they become actors with only one role, the innocent victim. But to the officers, the act had to come crashing down and chaos followed all because they were caught in the act. Here are the times when cops surprise catch woman stealing a full cart like she owns Walmart live. Starting with this woman, she believed that catching her in the act was a form of harassment. >> I want to be harassed. I've been harassed by you guys for weeks now and I can't take it anymore. >> Some battery on police officers. You guys have been harassing me. You guys have been bothering me. On the 21st of January 2025, police received a call from Walmart reporting a woman concealing merchandise. More notably, this was not her first time at the store for suspected shoplifting. When officers arrived, the loss prevention team provided a detailed account of her actions. >> Who's the man, brother? >> Yeah, you got this. >> Uh, it's her. She's in the bathroom right now. >> Okay. She selected and concealed clothing in her waistband. So, we think she's in the restroom right now putting the clothes on. James has a pool right there. >> I got her. >> She put them in the back first. What? >> No, she put them in her waistband. >> I'm sorry. >> How long could she go to the bathroom? >> It's been like what 5 minutes now? >> 5 minutes. >> You guys have caught her before. >> Yeah, that's her. >> She's been trespasser. >> No, we gave her a break. So this time we will pursue trespass though and then it has her driver's license there too. >> What did she take last time? I didn't see that. >> Uh she took last time. >> How long ago was that? >> This was in July last year. >> Oh that that was a pink handkerchief. She had that already. Yeah. But I don't see the stuff she had in this pocket. >> Yeah. >> I don't maybe >> she seems a little erratic. >> She She's kind of like droning off. >> I have not seen her in a long time. Yeah, >> I didn't think it was her first person. Thanks for I'm guessing she walked and she's going out different and check see if there's any packaging on the floor and the trash can [clears throat] make contact with her. She's already screaming. >> Shortly after the woman walked out and the officers and loss prevention quickly approached her. She immediately denied everything as if she already understood exactly what was happening. >> I left the >> I saw you in the room in the bathroom. >> I But I showed the I showed the gentleman. I show the customer service guy. Look at this empty. >> Okay. Okay. I have nothing. >> I don't have the laundry. We have nothing in my stuff. I don't I left the socks and everything over there. >> Inside my purse. There's all my stuff. There is so like it's Well, we appreciate you giving us consent to search. Um, you know, you cooperate with us. It's the best right there with the electronic islands and the socks. >> Okay. My partner will conduct his investigation. So, all right. Now, >> I'm just having a bad morning. >> So, don't like have your permission to search your >> I just showed you everything. >> I showed you everything. There's nothing in here. Look. See? Nothing. Nothing. >> Do you mind if I search it? >> Yeah, I do, guys. I'm showing you everything. [laughter] Had a bad morning. >> Can you just show it? Can you put your back on the back? >> No, I don't want to be harassed. I've been harassed by you guys for weeks now. >> The woman suddenly began playing the victim, trying to make herself look helpless, as if that would somehow reduce her responsibility. >> Don't take it anymore. I just came to look around and shop. I left the stuff right there. I showed him I showed him my bags before I walked in. everything to the bathroom at my person. >> And Miss So, we're we're not here trying to harass you. >> Yes, you are. Because I'm showing you everything and you're trying to push me even more. And I'm telling you, you guys have been bothering me. >> Yes, you have. >> So, this is my first time dealing with you. So, it's not me. It's not my partner here. So, we got some questions to ask you. And >> so, >> so before I do, man, I'm just going to read you this real quick. Um, you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used. >> After reading her rights, the officer laid out in detail what the cameras had captured. With the evidence presented so clearly, it remained to be seen whether her denials could continue. >> I'm not sure how well you are aware of how good these cameras are. >> They have video which I've already viewed with them. >> Put one in your pocket and hug it back. Two pairs of air. >> Okay. In the state of New Mexico, concealing any merchandise is considered shoplifting. You are on video concealing merchandise. Okay, that's why we came Hold on. That's why we came into contact with you. They [snorts] also watched you select other items. So, just to clarify, that's why we're here. >> I'm just I'm giving you description of why you're being contacted. Okay? That's why we're talking to you. We're not harassing you. You were stopped for a lawful reason. >> Okay? I'm just trying to clarify things for you. >> Ma'am, uh we saw you on video uh uh take the manscape kit and and try to remove the the spider web. >> It's right there in in the cart. The manscape kit is in the cart. >> But we saw you conceal it into your person. >> But it's in the cart. >> You selected two. >> You selected one more. >> Yeah. And the black one is up there. >> There was I looked at the other one cuz there's a different one. It was 69 and the other one's 79. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. There's like a black box. >> Yeah. And I put the black box back and that's the one in my buggy. And that's the one that's out in the in in the thing right there. So, I saw you take take the manscape, put it inside your jacket, tuck it in with your elbow, and then I saw you go into the bathroom. >> No, I went into the children's department first, >> right? >> And then I still walked around and my stomach has been messed up. >> And then that's why you switched it cuz you >> I didn't switch anymore. >> You got two of them? >> No. So, so you had a black one? >> Yes. Yes, ma'am. No. No. One second. One second. Let me explain. So, you had a black one in the cart. No, I had the gray one in the >> No, no, no. You had the black one in the cart. You messed with the spiderweb. You couldn't get it. So then you went back, selected the gray one, put it in your jacket, and then walked away. >> All right. So that's what we observed. That's why we're here. And then from there, there's only one in the cart, >> and then you walked into the bathroom with a black. >> You seen me put the black one back on the shelf. >> On the shelf? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. She believed that putting the merchandise back on the shelf somehow erased the wrongdoing she had already committed. However, suspicion remained when she appeared to be hiding something inside her shoes. >> So, Miss Torres, can I ask you for a favor? Will you show me what's inside your shoes? >> My shoes? >> Yes, ma'am. >> I'm trying to sell my shoes. >> Okay. Can you show me what's inside? >> No. >> Will you empty them, please? >> I showed them everything. >> They're heavy. >> They're heavy shoes. They're heavy shoes. >> So, can you just show me? >> Can you just turn them so I can see the inside? >> Can I go, please? I haven't. >> No, you cannot leave. So, >> no. I haven't done anything. You'll see on the camera you me put back the black thing and I put the one socks in my pocket and then I Oh my god. And then put them back on the shelf. >> So I'm going to ask you one more time. Will you please show me the inside of the shoes? >> No. >> No. All right. Cool. So what are we going to do from here? >> But if if he sees me, put it back on the shelf. But but then the black one cuz I have gray one. But >> do you want to walk us out there? Will you walk us out there and show us where you put them back >> on the shelf? >> If you want to clear your name, let's do let's do that. Wait, wait, wait till last prevention comes back. >> I left it on the shelf there in cosmetology. >> Okay. So, we'll wait. We'll wait for Last Prevention to come back and I don't know if it's against their policy of you watching the video. >> They have I'm telling you, we sat in here with our body cams on watching you conceal the merchandise. Okay. [music] And again, just clarify, regardless of whether you're saying you put things back or not, you were on video concealing merchandise while holding Hold on. Does not matter. You concealed merchandise. Okay. And you already got here in June >> for July of last year. They had sir ma'am. >> I have to if you're just going to argue if you're just going to argue about everything you do. >> You didn't even trespass me. >> Correct. >> And they're going to trespass you this time. They've already clarified that with us. Okay. >> That's fine. >> Her attempts to convince the officers appeared to have failed and she knew it would be difficult to keep denying everything. So despite the situation, she suddenly tried to walk away, causing the confrontation to escalate into chaos. >> We gave you several opportunities to stay clear. >> Excuse me. >> No. Excuse me. >> No, I'm not putting hands on you. >> Don't put your hands on me like that. >> Hello. Don't. I have some battery on police officers. You guys have been harassing me. You guys have been bothering me. I haven't done anything. >> Stop. If you try to If you try to give me the purse, >> this is my property. >> Yeah, we're going to get it back to you. >> It's all I have. It took me 4 months to get my license hook on right here. >> I can't even get my medical marijuana. This is my license to be. >> Yeah, we're going to get you on the property. >> Look at the camera. >> Do not do not catch a felony because you're unwilling to cooperate. Okay. We walk this way. Okay. >> You need to pull the cameras. >> There is nothing on those cameras at all. >> There is nothing on my person. [snorts] >> Anything. I didn't touch you guys. What do you mean? I'm going to get a felony. >> No. You don't get Don't get caught with a felony just cuz you're a fit. All right. You're going to catch a felony if you do this stuff. I'm >> Brenda Torres was arrested and charged with shoplifting and resisting, evading, or obstructing an officer. A search warrant later allowed police to recover the stolen merchandise, including the facial shaver and two pairs of socks found inside her shoes. Refusing to cooperate after the evidence is already clear, can turn a shoplifting case into a much more serious situation. Attempting to walk away or resist officers only adds to the consequences. Next, this woman turned herself into a walking shopping cart, stuffing merchandise into her pants. >> You're padded right here. >> Yeah, that because I had I wasn't going to steal nothing, sir. I promise you I wasn't. Intention was to probably try to get steal. But [music] I was so scared and nervous that >> On the 31st of May 2023, officers were dispatched to Academy Sports and Outdoors after receiving a report of a woman concealing merchandise. When officers arrived, she pretended to be paying for the items. Here is what happened next. >> All right, ma'am. Let's put that down. Okay. >> Huh? >> I'm Officer Cornelison. Let's go ahead and put that down. Okay. >> What was I talking about? >> Set the rest of your clothes on. I'm going to talk to you over here. Okay. >> Okay. >> Ain't nothing on me. >> Okay. Everybody feel like these are mine. I'm just going to take out the What shirt? >> The shirt that you just lifted up. What shirt? Mhm. >> You talking about this? >> All right. >> Yeah. >> All right. You're padded right here. >> Well, that's because I had I wasn't going to steal nothing, sir. I promise you I wasn't. >> Let's put it all down and let's go talk to here. Okay. >> All right. Let's go. >> Sorry. I was going to steal nothing. >> Okay. >> All right. I was >> Come on over here. >> Come talk. >> I'm going to check it out. Okay. I don't want to jail. >> Okay. >> She claimed she had no intention of stealing. But then why was she hiding the merchandise on her body? And the amount was far from small with more items continuously being pulled out as officers searched her. >> I know I'm going to call you, but I've already asked you twice. >> It's okay. So, >> let's just leave what we got and let's go talk over here. Okay. Is there anything else on you? There's a >> Oh, yeah. One more. I'm sorry. I was going to say I this I promise you that's why I ain't went out the door here. Like I was so scared. That's why I acting like I was looking for a phone cuz I like >> Anything else? >> It's here. I I just >> I got four kids, y'all. I I can't even feel y'all. I >> It's right here. >> Huh? >> They're hanging >> right here. >> No, don't. >> I'm not I wasn't right where I told you I was going to go out the door. That's why I was skept. >> Is that it? >> Come on out here. >> 84. That's not. >> She showed no shame as more items were pulled out, and her astonishing calmness suggested she was no stranger to this. Even her please afterwards seemed like something she had done before. >> And I learn I don't know why I learned my lesson. That why I really tried like acting like I was looking for a phone or whatever. You know what I'm saying? I would act like for a phone cuz I was so scared, y'all. I was so scared. >> Please tell the same. >> Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Y the deal. >> Please y'all can y'all please just pardon me. I want to answer bring him down. >> Yeah, I was so scared to go out the door, y'all. >> Kendra, >> I was so scared to go out the door. Okay, stop. Stop it. >> Okay. Well, please what were you doing? >> Huh? What were you doing? >> What I doing? >> Yeah. >> I was I acting like I got the phone. Huh? >> What were you doing with all those clothes stuffed in your pants? >> In my in my pants. I was just trying some stuff on. So, I was just stuffing just stuffing. I didn't want and my intention was to probably try to get steal. Okay. But I was so scared and nervous that I was actually telling her that I was helping for a phone cuz I was going to go speak to this one just take it all out. And that's on my forehead y'all. That's all gun attitude. I would have been out the door like I have I had a history. >> She was admitting to the theft, but in a way that seemed designed to manipulate the officers by downplaying her responsibility. [snorts] Everything she said came across as an attempt to lessen the seriousness of what she had done with little sign of genuine remorse. >> I was not going to go out the door with no clothes, sir. I was scared. Like it was on my heart. This is my first time still trying to steal anything or put anything on me since I've been out of prison. Lord, >> how long have you been out? month. You said >> no, I've been out since November. November. I've been working ever since. >> Where do you work at? >> Work I work in. I work at No, I work in Hartwell. I work at Nesta Parina, but I live here. >> I'm from Heartwell. My mom's from Everton, so I I know about I know all about >> Yeah. Okay. That's where I work at. And I live in Everton County. >> You got here for a second. >> Here. Stay over here, Kendra. Stay over here. Talk to me. Okay. So, >> please me. >> Look. Look. We don't know what's going to happen, okay? There's a lot of stuff that we got to talk to you about. Okay. >> First of all, we got to figure out how much all of that was going to be. Okay. Second of all, >> that is the loudest. >> Listen to me. Okay. Disguising clothes underneath your clothes stuffing them down. And I I know that you're going to say that you do not remember saying this, but I have it on body cam. Okay. You 2 and 1/2 minutes ago saying that you think your intention probably are you wanting the prosecute probably was to take it. And then you and then you explained Why the back, sir? I said I was scared. >> Then you explained And then you explained that it was because of your daughter's dance, which we're trying to be reasonable with you. We're trying to be gentle with you. Okay. >> I don't want to stop. >> At this point, the officers needed to clarify everything. It was clear they suspected she had come there intending to steal rather than acting on impulse. When questioned, she brought up her family to make herself seem sympathetic and distract [music] from the investigation. >> I can't hear. to buy some stuff. >> Okay. >> But >> and the thing trying to buy some stuff, >> I stuffed some stuff, but my heart was so heavy. My heart was so think about my kids. Like I even asked her, "Can I go back to the dressing room?" Cuz I was going to >> Yeah. >> When she said, "No, go." You can ask her. She said, "No, go pay for your items." >> Mhm. >> Before we close. Cuz she kept telling me your eye go check. I check your room for your phone. I even made up a lot of I lost my phone just so I can stay in here if I can take this stuff off me because I was scared. I can't walk out that door y'all. I just did prison time. I don't get off parole until November. You feel me? I know I got a history. Yes, I know I got a history shot me. But if I go to jail today >> Mhm. >> I'm going back to prison. >> Yep. >> It's already there. >> Not yet. We we already know it's a felony. >> Okay. >> It's a felony anyway. But I didn't I all that stuff, sir. I had all this stuff on me. I had like two shots in my Why? >> She was ultimately arrested for felony shoplifting after officers determined the concealed merchandise was worth more than $700. [music] Her prior shoplifting history and active parole further worsened her situation. Trying to justify theft by blaming financial struggles or family responsibilities does not erase the choice to commit the crime. Taking responsibility is very different from repeatedly changing the story to make the offense seem less serious. This mother even stole birthday gifts for her daughter. >> I made a mistake. Uh my daughter birthday. That's it. >> Your birthday. >> HEY ISABELLA. ISABELLA, >> STOP. On the 28th of October 2024, officers received a report from a shopping store about a theft that had taken place. What seemed like a simple shoplifting case quickly escalated. From the very beginning, the situation spiraled out of control. >> I will talk to him in a second. Can you sign up? >> Stop touching my stuff. He No, he's no second. >> But he No, I can't talk to you when you're WHEN YOU'RE LIKE THIS. >> THAT'S FUNNY. HE IS THE DEVIL. I REBUKE YOU. Can you sit down? Sit >> down. Sit down for a second, please, so I can talk to you. >> No, I don't feel comfortable. He did not make me feel comfortable. I gave me I gave him. He did not make me feel comfortable. I don't want to sit down. Okay. >> I don't want to sit down. >> You going to take a breather? >> He thought that was funny. He I swear to God, he did that on purpose. >> Okay. >> Where's your baby? >> He thought that was funny. Is your baby here? >> He thought that was funny. >> What's your What's your name, hun? >> I don't understand. He got his stuff. >> Why is this going any further? >> You want me to take it? >> No, I'm taking it. >> Why is this going any further? I don't get it. >> Hold on. Hold on. Just turn off here. >> She have her. Who have her? >> I don't want to say this. >> Her friend should be outside with her baby and then her baby girl. >> Okay, so they're well taken care of, right? >> Can I get you those? The woman had brought her family with her, but her main concern was portraying herself as the victim when confronted about the theft. Even providing her ID and cooperating with the officers was not easy. >> That's weird. That's weird. >> Do you have an ID on you? >> I don't have nothing on you, bro. I This is like >> So, listen to we were called down here. I'm going to need an ID from you just because I need to figure out who I'm speaking to and I don't want just your name. I want an actual ID. Okay? I'm being very respectful to you. This officer has been very respectful to you. I just want to know who I'm talking to. Okay. >> I'm just trying to figure out like what what I don't like. He got his stuff. I don't understand. This is he he held me here. Like he held me here like is that even like what the is [snorts] that even like he after he got his stuff? >> Can I start off with your phone number, ma'am? >> Is that even like >> Hold on. Hold on. Don't leave >> cuz I made a video actually. >> It's okay. >> And I never got your name actually. She still claimed that the employee had intentionally accused her of theft. So, the officer confronted her directly, leaving her with little choice but to admit what she had done. >> I'll be honest with you, there's cameras all over the store and it's these I'll be honest, these two are pros at what they do. They're they're they're always calling us constantly and they always have proper camera footage to show everything. So, nine times out of nine almost, they're spot on when they tell us someone's stealing from their store. And considering the fact that you're not straight up denying it. You're not giving me another version of a story. I mean, what? So, that's why I'm just trying to get to this understanding point. Why are we doing this? I mean, is there a certain reason behind it? I can explain that in my police report. She's doing this because X, Y, and Z. Or she's doing this because she's a selfish person, which I don't think that's the case considering you're a little tearjerking right now. So, I think there's some goodness in here and you're looks like you kind of made a mistake. But, I can't assume that. I need to hear it from you. What? What is the truth? >> Yep. I made a mistake. Uh my daughter birthday. That That's it. >> Your birthday? >> No, my daughter birthday. >> Daughter birthday. Right. >> When was your birthday? >> Um on the 25th? >> This this last next month. >> She admitted what she had done without showing any shame. In fact, she revealed that the stolen items were meant for her daughter, something she later openly admitted. >> How old is she? >> Two. >> Two. Okay. So you just >> That makes sense. And that's why I'm assuming they're all kids stuff, right? >> Yes. All for her. >> All kids stuff, right? >> Can you tell me some details as far as how you did it? >> I I just want to hear it from you, especially if you >> I I don't know. >> You don't want to have the details? >> So, you have a warrant for your arrest regardless. Okay. >> Yeah. I'm not sure what it's for. Okay. So, we're just going to have to take you back to the station, figure out if we can release you. Hopefully, it should not take too long. Um, I'm pretty sure most of the ones that we've been dealing with they are. Um, so we have to figure that out and then we'll figure out what for today. Okay. >> Have you been arrested before? >> Mhm. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Did you miss a court date or something? >> Yeah, I think I just probably did. >> That could be it could be the reason why. All right. >> So, we got to go to jail for that. >> No, we were going to go to the booking first. go to our station and they're going to tell us exactly what they want you want us to do with you, quote unquote, etc. With that being said, your friend, who's who is your friend to you? >> My friend? >> Yeah. >> Oh, okay. Close. I mean, are you okay with her taking your child? >> Let me open the door. >> We're not going to hang. >> Hang out here. >> Hang out. >> Her behavior showed that she did not see her actions as a serious matter. She even continued casually using her phone to contact people outside, forcing the officer to stop her. But that only marked the beginning of the chaos. >> I'm really not. >> You don't have to touch my phone. >> I'm not going to. Okay. >> A miss to see a trip. You don't have to touch my phone. >> All right. So, at this point in time, we're just going to take care. Give her a call. Give her a call so you can so you can have your kids. >> They knocking on the Why y'all not telling them to Why you not >> Do you want me to tell them? Obviously. >> Okay, I'll tell them. >> Obviously. >> Okay, then I'll tell them. Okay. All right. Do me a favor. >> Stop touching my stuff. >> Okay. Do me a favor. >> Why should >> Stop touching my stuff. Stop touching my >> I understand that, but why is you Isabella? [screaming] Hey, Isabella. HEY, ISABELLA. >> ISABELLA. >> STOP. STOP. >> Don't do it. Why you hold on to me like that? Why you going to break? WHY IS YOU HOLDING ON to me like that? WHY IS YOU HOLDING ON TO ME LIKE THAT? Why you holding on to me like that? Why you holding on to me like that? Why is you holding on to me like that? >> All right, perfect. >> Okay, stop and stop. NOT >> STAY DOWN. >> STAY DOWN. >> OKAY, [screaming] STOP. >> STOP. [screaming] >> You're fine. OKAY, >> YOU'RE FINE. STOP. >> THAT'S CUZ YOUR ASS WRESTLING ME. I CAN JUST BE NORMAL AND THEN YOU COME UP. YOU COME UP. >> YOU [ __ ] What the I doing? >> Her attitude only showed how defiant she was and it ultimately meant she would not be going home to her child that day. Yet, she still did not seem to care, continuing to make things difficult for THE OFFICERS. >> I'M NOT YOUR DOG. YOU GOT ME UP. >> [screaming] >> You got me up. What the? I'M NOT THE DOG THOUGH. STOP TREATING ME LIKE THAT. THE I could be normal. I didn't disrespect you. YOU DON'T WANT TO GRAB MY WHAT the Let me go. >> She just very obnoxious. This tried to touch my the nobody be obnoxious. SHE'S GRABBING ONTO my >> I don't give a Well, if you don't give a then we'll add another charge. [snorts] >> THE YOU'RE TOUCHING MY HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO ACT THE YOU'RE GRABBING ONTO MY STUFF. >> YOU WANT this stuff going back TO YOUR KID? >> DUH. >> OKAY, THEN act like it. STOP BEING LIKE THIS. >> YOU THAT'S MY GO BACK TO HER. AND I'LL TAKE IT BACK. I'LL TAKE IT BACK TO THE PD and your baby won't HAVE IT. SO KEEP ACTING LIKE >> ABOUT THAT DAMN uh stroller. >> All right, let's go. >> You want to search her first? >> Yeah. Get out. >> Search me for what? >> Cuz you're under arrest. >> Dang. >> All right. Just like that. Save it. >> You're not moving anywhere. >> Search you. >> It's not But what is you searching me for, dude? Like this is truth. You need to give her You need to give her my stuff. >> Okay, we'll give her your stuff. But if you keep acting that way, she's not getting anything. Okay? So, just be respectful and then you'll be done with here. >> This goofy ass. >> She was charged with shoplifting, theft, and resisting a peace officer. Stealing is never justified, even when the items are meant for someone you love. Resisting officers only makes the situation worse and can lead to additional charges. Before we move on to the next theft case, let's take a look at this $100,000 fraud scheme. Now, from what I'm gathering, somebody probably offered you money to do this. >> How much money would they offer you? >> How about for possession of fraudulent ID, committing fraud at the Grand Mar? >> On the 30th of March, 2023, officers received a call from a Toyota dealership after employees discovered three suspects attempting to obtain a car loan worth more than $100,000 using stolen identities. As officers arrived at the scene, the suspects were quickly detained one by one. chance. >> No. Or any office speaking. I'm speaking >> first and foremost. My name is Detective. Speak English. >> Yes. >> Right now, you are being detained. You're not under arrest, but you're not free to go. Do you understand? >> I understand. >> Okay. We're here because the dealership called us. That being said, very first thing we're going to start with is your name. Before I get your name or any information, if you lie to me about your name, your date of birth, your address, anything like that, it's a completely separate crime than from whatever else we got going. You understand? >> The officer warned her about lying as the situation already appeared to resemble a fraud scheme with one person entering the dealership while a driver waited outside until the deal was completed. At this point, more information about her began to come to light. >> That being said, what is your name? >> Shar. >> What brings you to New York? >> Your friend. >> Did you come today? Yesterday? How long have you been in New York for? >> I came. I'm sorry. >> Do you have your passport with you? >> Yes, I do. >> Couple years to Toyota. I see you. Investigating a fraud. Must be a female officer. >> I'm down in Toyota. Just give me an 18 check when you're by name when you're ready. First name's Shireen. little privacy. I'm going to close the door. Okay. He's got his camera on. Anything like that. Before he takes any further, I have to read you your rights. Okay. Make sure you understand. >> I've never been detained. >> Well, then warning. I'm a police officer. These are your constitutional rights. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can or will be used against you in the court of law. Do you understand what I've just stated to you? >> If you do, do you wish to speak with me? >> Yes. >> Okay. You understand the crux of why we're here. And just as the officer suspected, the scheme was clearly organized. The suspect also admitted details about the people behind the operation. >> What were the instructions? >> They just told us to follow >> follow >> I followed hazard connection. So I just didn't I didn't really just have to follow. >> So they said just follow her. Here's a fake ID and go and try and buy a car. Is that correct? >> Mhm. >> And she was she the one that told you to even make money from this or how did you get involved with this? >> I told her that I I was having trouble. >> So you told her you're in a little bit of financial trouble. She was also going through that and somebody that she knows offered her this and she told me about it and >> so sounds like she's done this in the past. Is that correct? >> I'm not sure. >> So she says I know a way we can make some money. And how does she explain this plan to you? Like what were the instructions? And then when we finally did >> um she um >> the longer the questioning continued the more pressure the woman faced and considering the value of the car that pressure only seemed to increase. >> Now you come here you try to buy this car. You know what the value of this car is? >> Yes. >> Taxes included 100,000. She told us >> it's a very serious felony here in the state >> and the felony is minimum one year in jail. But you seem like very low in the total pole here. There's people above you that are more interested. People that recruit people like you who need the money. >> Okay. >> And that's who I'm more interested in. Okay. Sounds like you're being honest, but I don't believe I'm getting the full truth here. >> Yeah. I don't want to I don't want to speak on her behalf. I'm trying to protect her, too. At that point, the officers informed her of the charges she was facing. >> I want to really think about the the situation you're in here and you are under arrest. I mean, this is a very serious crime. >> Yeah. And then now for this investigation, you are. How about for possession of fone ID, committing fraud, attempted grand lararseny? Trying to make quick money through an organized fraud scheme can quickly turn into serious felony charges. Even if someone claims they were only following instructions, [music] taking part in the crime still leaves them responsible for their own actions. Before we move on to the next thief, let's take a look at this absolutely insane chaos. >> You get charged with another >> I don't give a sh. The 21st of June 2026, police were dispatched to a gym after receiving a report of a woman who had set up a sleeping bag inside and refused to leave, clearly making her presence unlawful. Here's what happened when officers arrived at the scene. >> Still here? >> Yeah. So, she slipped outside the building from 10:30 to when I opened the doors up this morning at 7:00. She scared the crap out of me. >> So, she was in the bathroom. She showered. She was in there for 3 hours. Then, she's been wandering the building. She's not on any equipment. I went in the locker room to ask her to leave. She's laying on the bench with her sleeping bag sleeping. >> She's still here. >> Yeah. So, I want her trespass. She does have a locker here. She needs to clear out her locker too and be gone. >> Right here. >> When we confront her, she got very agitated. >> Yeah, it's okay. We'll get her out of here one way or another. At first, it seemed like another case of a homeless person illegally occupying a business. But surprisingly, the woman was well-dressed and completely arrogant, showing no intention of cooperating with the officers. >> Come on, Daniel. >> How did you know what's my name is? >> Do you know? >> How do you know what my name is? >> Do you got a locker? >> How did you know what my name was? >> Do you got a locker? >> How did you know what my name was? SHOW ME. >> The situation quickly escalated as she clearly had no intention of leaving, acting as if the gym were her own home and forcing officers to take her into custody. >> Listen, knock. Why are you doing this? >> Why are you doing this? >> Knock it off. Why are YOU DOING THAT? >> KNOCK ME IN MY FACE. >> What are you doing? Stop. >> Behind your back. >> Stop. >> Stop. No, it's not. >> Get off of me. >> She had that rock in her hand and everything, didn't she? >> Could she have been deliberately acting this way just to secure a new place to stay jail instead of the gym? At this point, she even started challenging the officer's back >> cuz I want to bust you IN YOUR FACE. I DO. >> I want to bust YOU IN YOUR FACE. >> LET HIM know we got one that's combative. Her actions showed how quickly refusing to leave can escalate into serious consequences. Challenging and resisting officers only turned a simple trespassing situation into multiple criminal charges. Next, this shoplifter would continue the chaos with a scene that was no less chaotic. NO. NO. >> ON the 29th of February 2024, police received a report from a Walmart store about a woman who was stealing there. Okay. >> Sorry. >> WHY ARE YOU BENDING MY ARM? >> I'M NOT TRYING TO. >> WHY ARE YOU BENDING IT? >> OKAY, you can calm down now. We're good. You get okay. Thanks, man. She continued to make things difficult as officers escorted her away back there. >> My arm hurt. Get off. I have nowhere to run. Y'all want to fight ME SO BAD. DO IT. YES. YES. THROW IT. Does this look like a to you? >> Based on the woman's attitude, she did not seem to think she was a criminal. She believed she deserved more respect and began venting her anger by acting out of control inside the patrol car. >> Stop. I'M NEVER GOING TO SEE MY AGAIN. >> NO, >> she's not in her head. I thought she wasn't. >> Yeah, >> she was a normal adult about this. >> I thought hobbles or leg restraints. Leg restraints. Leg [screaming] restraints. Yeah. Okay. >> Be kicking like that. I would. Otherwise, it's going to be right here. It's not a victimous crime. >> Some stolen. >> Let's get started. >> So, are we going to continue to kick my chair? >> No. >> Okay. I appreciate that. While the officers completed the procedures before taking her to the station, she continued complaining and portraying herself as the victim as if all the trouble had been caused by the officers. >> I'm going to chew through my Idol. I am not a mentally stable person. You don't even know who you have in the back of your car right now. And I'm also on methadone. The Walmart. >> No. What's the jail? >> I don't know. >> Should be going to score, sir. >> Up in De Moines. >> Thank you. Um, all right. Um, all right. Thank you. All right. [ __ ] All right. In the end, the woman was charged with theft in the third degree and resisting arrest. This incident shows that resisting arrest only makes a simple theft case more serious. Instead of cooperating, her continued resistance and disruptive behavior led to additional charges and made the situation worse for herself. >> You trying to put the fake name on her? So, what's on your ID? >> You don't do that. Please don't. >> Why you acting like that? You got warrants or something? Do I got to detain you? >> Why you acting like >> On the 3rd of July 2025, police received a report from Family Dollar about a theft committed by a woman. So with the store's decision, she was not prosecuted for theft and was simply trespassed and allowed to leave. That was exactly why the woman showed no remorse and did not even take the next steps with police seriously. >> This is informing you that you can't come back. I fill out this address and then you would sign here and then that's it. That's all you got to do. Fill out your information, sign here, and you'll be good to go. In the end, the suspect was charged with theft, obstructing official business, providing false identification, and resisting detention. Running from a mistake only made things worse. Honesty could have brought leniency, but panic and deception only added more consequences. Next, these two women still had deeper secrets behind their theft. >> Are you guys? >> Yeah. Let's deal with the red sweater or did you did you come in and you were like maybe I could kind of look like a Target employee kind of thing? >> No. >> On December 9th, 2025, police were dispatched to Target after their loss prevention team detained two women for shoplifting. Thank you. >> Okay, that's everything. >> So, this is everything that was on you. >> Okay, there's nothing else. >> Clearly, up to that point, both appeared cooperative. However, the investigation showed that only the woman in the red sweater attempted to take items and pass them to her friend, raising serious suspicion that there was more behind the situation. >> So, this is everything that was on you. Okay. There's nothing else for sure. Okay. And then mystery goodness. Let's deal with the red sweater. I have the picture that I came. >> Okay. What did she take? >> She took a bag of chips like potato chips and some kind of >> Do you want to press charges? >> Um defin I think if I ask my the owner probably. But as of right now, being caught. >> If we don't get you in the computer, [snorts] >> you know what? He's going to look he's going to look her up because I can't I can't get her in the computer and I can't get enough. Okay. >> She showed no signs of remorse whatsoever. You Oh. >> Oh, yes. The woman was charged with threatening an officer, giving a false name upon being arrested, and petty theft. This case shows that refusing to take responsibility only makes a bad situation worse. Lying about your identity, arguing with officers, and responding with threats or insults can quickly turn a minor theft case into one with far more serious consequences. Next, this employee ended up giving herself a vacation in jail instead. >> Basically, what she does is she selects a bunch of like makeup, clothes, food, anything she needs. >> Smart girl, man. >> Yeah, this was a bright idea. of course vacation. >> On the 9th of March 2023, police were dispatched to a Target store after receiving a report of a theft that had occurred. With clear receipts and evidence, the police were able to make their decision when they approached her. You do me a favor and just stand up for me. Okay. >> Okay. We're going to detain you right now. Okay. Can you put your hands behind your back? >> Yeah. >> Put the backs of your hands together >> like you're praying. That's beautiful. >> Okay. Either way. >> All right. Do you do you have an ID with you anywhere or anything? >> Um, no, I don't have it on me. >> Is it here? >> No, I don't carry it. It's just me. >> So, you didn't bring anything with you? >> Just my phone and my water and my lunch. That's it. >> Okay. Where's your phone at? >> Um, it's in my pocket. >> Okay. >> I'm going to read this to you cuz we want to ask you some questions, but because you're not free to leave, I have to read this to you. Okay. Okay. You do have the right to remain silent and anything you say can be used against you in court. >> The woman showed no sign of remorse on her face as if she did not care about the harm she had caused. Even when the value of the loss was explained to her, she remained indifferent. >> It was a universal threat. >> You took a air fryer. It was a wet facial. >> It was universal threat. I just blender. >> Um just because it's on video. Is >> this all you do? fully >> like are you work or do you have other [clears throat] things you do like go to school or or you like um >> I already finished school >> do we have a um I'm sorry >> I used to be an engineer and then I lost our video for this >> huh my daughter I lost my um >> okay so we're down third >> you can do a video for it and a receipt for all Yeah, I can do that. >> Okay. >> Um, we have the fourth. I mean because I mean when I'm I needed money to like buy stuff I pick up overtime. >> In reality the items she had stolen were not necessities at all. They were all allegedly taken to support her vacation trip, leaving even the police questioning her motive. >> I mean if I need a facial is the last thing I want to buy. >> You know what I'm saying? What >> a facial machine or whatever and a steamer. I was trying to make like side things. >> I get it. But I mean, if I'm in surro mode, I'm buying food. It's just >> okay. >> So, if you're a smart girl, man, >> you know, this wasn't a bright idea. Of course, they both vacation. >> Target spends a lot of money in surveillance and loss prevention. You're going to get caught simulator. >> Everything was clear. She was then escorted to the patrol vehicle, beginning a new trip, but this time it was to jail. Hey, I'm um take the handcuffs and just go with me and I'll get back to you. All right. One more. So, it's kind of like a pay payment. It's free to get out until your trial date. >> So, I'm estim,000 or if you get a bondman. Let's go over. I don't want to call someone. >> Yeah. The jail will give you your phone. You get to write down two or three numbers. The woman was charged with thirdderee grand theft for repeatedly stealing merchandise from her workplace with the total value of the stolen goods exceeding the felony threshold. This case highlights that theft is judged by intent and total impact, not by personal justification or the perceived importance of the items taken. Repeated small actions can accumulate into serious felony charges, and indifference during arrest does not reduce legal responsibility or consequences. Next, this foolish woman told a series of lies that were painfully obvious. >> She ain't got nothing to do with this. >> Okay. So, my job is to figure it out. Okay. >> And I don't got I did not sell anything. >> My job You went to Michael Kors, you went to Lacass, and you went to Prada. >> On the 16th of April, 2026, police received a call from a shopping center reporting that a woman suspected of shoplifting had been spotted on the property. Okay. other hand. >> 23 27 2371 you said to buy something for your mama. I don't real >> The female driver appeared confused and even confronted the passenger about what had happened. She seemed genuinely unaware of the theft, but quickly realized what was going on. The woman in black also repeatedly insisted that the driver had nothing to do with the crime. >> She ain't got nothing to do with this. >> Okay? So, my job is to figure it out. Okay? >> And I don't got I did not steal anything. >> My job is to figure it out. If if you didn't steal nothing, you will be on your way. If you did steal something, I will decide if you're going to go to jail or get a court date. Okay? >> All right. So, your attitude is also going to uh have an influence on that, too. I'm sorry, sir. >> So, I'm going to get locked up either way. >> No, right now you are detained for theft. I didn't say you're under arrest. Okay. You're detained in handcuffs. You're going to sit back here while I do my job. Okay. >> While the suspect denied stealing [music] anything, the store manager arrived on scene with a very different account of what had happened. >> All right. So, you reported this, correct? >> I'm the manager over there. I was right outside on break and she be going out. I was hearing go this lady right here. She have in the car. >> Okay. Oh, so you already saw >> Oh, I saw what happened. Yeah. I was getting ready to walk back in. I was getting up. So, it was just it I went in there and I said, "Did she purchase all those bags?" And she had her hand. The other manager said no. So, then that's when I called it in. >> Okay. Do you know about how much merchandise she stole? What I saw was about four or five of our cross bodies >> and about the average price of each. >> Um, so about maybe $400 a piece >> retail. Retail. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Um, okay. Let me uh >> she took something else. I don't know. >> Okay. Let me speak to her first and then uh so right now it's going to be treated as a theft investigation. I got to talk to her, see what she's willing to, you know, say, and then, uh, >> if we can get the property back with just her saying it, then we'll go from there. >> Meanwhile, another officer explained the situation to the driver and confirmed that she was not involved in the theft. >> Maybe [snorts] you need to start hanging around certain people. >> Yeah, cuz I don't even play this. You understand me? >> Cuz this this I mean, >> this ain't it. >> Yeah. >> I'm hiding the piss about this. I'm heading over there right now. >> Back with the suspect. She made little effort to defend herself or prove her innocence. Instead, she remained defiant throughout the questioning, acting as though she was entitled to respect despite being the prime suspect in a theft investigation. Do you have your uh ID on you? >> No, but I did not say anything. So, >> okay. Do you have a Florida ID or Florida driver's license? >> No. >> No. Okay. And it's July 1st, 1992. >> Mr. Ramirez. >> Yes, ma'am. >> I did not say anything. And I feel like y'all are being too rough with me. >> Listen, I'm I'm not rough with you. Okay. You're in handcuffs for a reason. All right. Honesty goes a long way. In the end, she was charged with three counts of petty theft and one count of fraud by impersonation. Lies may delay accountability for a moment, but the truth eventually catches up, and every attempt to deceive only makes the consequences worse. What do you think about cases like this?
