My mom's a captain of the police department. Mom, Mom. Mom, I'm Get on the ground. Get on Mom, Mom. Mom, get your arm off of me, Mom. This shit's mine. I did not take this this right here, the dress. Okay. Can we go back inside and figure it out there? That's what she said. No. No, please don't. There seemed to be no limits to these thieves. Their greed and arrogance drove them to take entire carts without paying until the police showed up. What would happen next? Stay tuned in today's video. Shoplifters caught rolling out an entire cart full from Walmart. We are This is law. Don't forget to like and subscribe. Beginning with this deceitful woman. She paid for some stuff and walked out of the store. Yeah, she only paid for one shirt. Have them on you. That's a nice shirt. Nice. You just lost all the trust. Good job. On the 1st of June, 2023, police received a report from a retail store regarding an organized theft. The suspect was believed to be a woman who concealed merchandise in a bag and handed it to two accomplices to transport the goods to a vehicle before leaving. At that time, store employees described the conduct along with the actual amount of damage she caused. Only stuff No. >> That's it. That one right here? Yeah, done. Say less. All right. Matching outfit, but this is a thing though. So she has some stuff from other stores. No, so she took some stuff >> back from us. She left, dropped it off in the car, came back. Okay. And then, yeah. Okay. Hello. How much are you looking at? 972 Girl, 972. And she ordered a picture of the flowers. Plus I don't know if I we made a police report or What happened? Say less. All right, I'm going to go read her and I'll figure it out. She concealed the slippers. and um the white pants into inside of the bedroom. I was there because when she came out the merchandise was gone, but she didn't she wasn't feel sure about it, so I was like, "Okay, let's just let her let her be." That's what she concealed inside All right, she's just putting it in her bag. >> Yeah, she put it on the pink bag. The red one? Uh yeah. Did she buy something, too? Yeah, so she paid for a couple of things and then We didn't know what it was. Check. What? And she took that one, puts it in the bag. Shortly after, the police approached the suspect and she appeared completely calm about their presence, suggesting that this was not her first time dealing with a situation like this. I know this lady. Sometimes I buy it cuz I miss his card. Sometimes I buy it and sometimes I take it. Okay, so you've done this before? Yeah, in this store, yeah. And you like That's why yeah, that's Sometimes I just stand and take them and spray them on me. Sometimes I leave them. But I buy it, cuz I don't drop a miss his card. Do you guys want her trespassed? Yes, probably Do you guys have forms? Yeah. How did you get here? I got charcoal. You got your car? I got charcoal. Do you have keys? I don't. They're home. You care if I look? Yeah. It was later reported that her accomplices had fled while the vehicle containing the stolen goods was still parked in the parking lot. Police then proceeded to search her belongings in an attempt to locate the car keys. >> Hello. Okay. All right. So, here is the deal. They have They have you on video surveillance putting other children's clothes into the No. Say what? Okay. Whose car is that? That was my auntie's car. That was your auntie's car? Okay. That was your auntie's car. So, what happened with all these other things that you took? This shirt, some pants. Oh, they left with it. They already took that with them? Can they come bring it back? So, then what is going to happen is they're going to be accessories after the fact. >> No, I got it. Look, I paid for that. Okay. And what about all these other things? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Can they bring that stuff back? Can you tell them to come bring it back? >> We have to bring it back? Yes. Did you buy it? Otherwise, they're going to catch felony charges. You don't want that. Her statements kept changing and were never consistent, indicating a clear attempt to conceal the truth. Even regarding the car keys, her dishonesty escalated the tension. You're making this harder and harder on yourself. >> We asked you earlier where the keys are. And what did you say? I don't have any keys. >> Okay. So, where Where are your keys? I'm nervous. Okay, no more nice guy. Where's the keys? You have them on you. They're not on your shirt. Nice. You just lost all the trust. Good job, Brooke. I was just nervous. Give me the keys. You [ __ ] up. You're nervous. >> I was >> Give me the keys. You're like a pro at this. She's done this like five times. I'm nervous. >> Stand up. I'm nervous. Turn around. I was nervous. I was just nervous. You're good. You lost it. You're in the back seat behind the driver seat, right? Yeah. Bet. Put your hand facing in. That's fine. Nope. No more subtle. We were cool. We were nice. I thought we were cordial. You lost it. Which way did it Turn around. You know where it was, right? Yeah, it's in 304 by the driver seat. Okay. He knows where it is. Let's go. He's putting your big person there, so I didn't want to bring it by. Yep, he's going to bring it right back. You're not kidding. Here. What are your stance? Huh? What are your stance? Oh. Do you have anything else on you? No. Given what had happened, the woman showed no remorse at all. Even inside the patrol car, she only appeared to be more concerned about her property than the situation itself. Please. Yep. I'm They want I'm saying they want to tow away my car. Um we're not going to tow it. If the mall wants to, they can, but >> Yes, I'm saying can you just cuz she comes out and goes Once we get to the jail and once you get booked in, you can call. What if this is going to be too late? I don't know. Huh? I do not know. Nope. You lied to us. Huh? You lied to us. I know I and and I understand I was nervous and I'm sorry. >> Okay, well. I was nervous and that's the honest to God truth. Okay, even if you were nervous, you still lied to us. When you're nervous, that doesn't mean you lie. That is true and I'm sorry. Okay. I should have I'm sorry. I just wanted to tell you that so that we can get here. Like I said, once we get to the jail, once you get booked in, they will let you make a phone call. >> you can get that number for me, please? Well, see, I I'll tell you what. If we get to the jail and you do not pee in my car I'm not going to yeah. >> Okay, once we get to the jail and then after we let you use the bathroom, I will call her while we are in there. The woman was ultimately charged with felony grand theft. Her behavior shows that repeated dishonesty and concealment only escalate legal consequences, turning a preventable situation into a felony case with long-term repercussions. Worse, the woman called her mother to take responsibility for her. My mom's a captain of the police department. >> Mom! Mom! Mom! I'm dying. I'm resisting. Mom! Yeah, Mom. On the 8th of April, 2024, police received a call from Walmart reporting that they had detained a woman for shoplifting using a skip scan method. Upon arrival at the scene, the total value of the loss was clarified by loss prevention staff. So, the the amount missed was 4363 without the tax. So, this item right here, that's right on top of that other item, never gets scanned. She just kind of holds it over it, scans the bottom item, then places it right here for him in the bag. Uh I don't think he realized what all was going on. Um and I he went to go get the kids. He had to pick up the kids, that's why he's not here. Mhm. Does it happen that way on every item? Not every item. Like for this one right here, they have six of them, they only ring up three. Now, she says it's because they were stuck together and they don't know that you can pull them apart. But, let me fast forward to the end cuz this is This is the most obvious one. She has it stacked up on top of it. She's going to take the hand scanner and only scan the top item before passing both items across. It's her ID? Yes. Miss Brent? I'm married now. Oh, okay. It's an older ID. I got you. Is this uh your most current one though? It's not. So, right before here I was actually in a car accident where I pulled the police and I gave my ID from the accident to here. I don't know what happened to my ID. Do you Are you a resident of Florida or New York or both? I'm a resident of Florida technically. We moved to Florida in August cuz all my family lives here in Florida. However, we're having a house built in New York, so eventually we're going back. Okay, but you live here now? Yes. Okay. All right, so you're being detained by The woman deliberately described her circumstances to avoid handing over her ID to the police, and the situation only worsened when she made a phone call while officers were analyzing her behavior. I told her for him to bag it. I see. Oh, I told them Take that phone away from you, too. So, sure enough Can you put the phone down for me, please? So, we got to ask you some questions. They're both here. Yes or no? You're going to put the phone down? Okay, well, hold on cuz they're yelling at me now. Okay. What is your name? Amber. You have a Florida DL? I'm sorry? Do you have a Florida driver's license? >> Yes, I do. Where is that? I don't know. Lose the attitude. Okay? You have one, too. With all due respect, I didn't do nothing wrong. I didn't say nothing to you. You have an attitude. What is your last name? What is your last name? It's Spell it. Okay. This deputy is the deputy in the case, and he says you need to stay off the phone. So, listen to him. Thank you. You're on speaker. Just leave it on. I don't hear it. Give me that. Yeah, she said her her said she got remarried or something, and that that's not the right right name. items is no reason when I get reimbursed for the kids stuff. Are you okay with her for 2 seconds so I can Yeah. I was about to. I had to put it out the door now. a cucumber, uh onion, and a tomato. Uh she just takes it from the dumpster and Right. The white onion and then the cilantro gets canned, but then the other stuff in there she never even bothers to take it out. I just need to see the when you stopped her. Oh, when we stopped her? Yeah, yeah. Which entrance? Cross rear. Who was right out here? The phone call with her mother escalated the situation as she showed no concern for accountability and created further disruption when officers tried to stop it. All right. I tried to be nice. I told you to get off the phone. >> My mom's a captain of the police department. >> phone. Mom! Mom! Mom! Get on the ground. Get on the ground. I am calling the police. I'm not Mom! Mom! Mom! Mom, get over here. I'm not moving, Mom. This [ __ ] Mom, call the lawyers. The alley bigger than Hello, 4602 get back in here, please. I'm not even doing anything. Stop resisting and put your arm behind your back now. >> There's nothing wrong with being on the phone and so I'm under arrest. You're going to get a resisting charge. Do you understand me? I'm literally laying here not doing anything. Put your arm behind your back. >> All right, 97 I'm trying to get back in the door. Come on, Sarah. Hey, yeah. I'm not Put your hand not Move your hands. Mom! I'm not resisting. Mom! Yeah, Mom. You guys are both on top of me. I weigh 130 lb. She repeatedly described the situation to her mother as if she were the victim, even though it was her own resistance that led to the escalation. She also attempted to portray herself as having medical issues. This is way too tight. You're cutting off my circulation. What are you doing? All right, roll over. I'm dying of asthma. All right, relax. Relax. No, I can't sit up. Please, let me lay down. I feel like I'm Sit up. Be an adult. I have Be an adult and sit up. >> Come on, we'll help you up. You really going to do this? You're going to You're going to Okay. I don't need EMS. I've been told it's okay. Do you want to sit up like an adult now? See, I can't I can't. You can't sit up? Okay. All you had to do was get off the phone, all right? I'm going to have an ambulance come anyway. No, I don't I don't need saying. You can't put me in an ambulance if I refuse. That's I just need a hand to get her up. No, I can't sit up right now. I need a lady here. Then I'll sit I don't want an ambulance. Well, an ambulance is going to come check her out. I know. This is all because she wouldn't get off the phone. You want to try sitting up now? I don't know if I can. I don't know if I can. Well, we're going to help you. Ma'am, how old are you? I'm I'm 30. 30? Yes. Yes. Ready? One, two, three. It appeared that, even realizing her attempt to call her mother was unsuccessful, the woman still showed no intention of taking responsibility. She continued deflecting, referring to other people as if the situation was their problem to handle. It's not me. If you call my husband, he has everything. Why would I You're an adult, lady. I I I was on the phone. I got in trouble for that. There's nothing I can do. He has my medication. He has my ID. Are you 15? Why would I call your Well, then I can't prove anything to you. Where's her Okay, so you want to risk giving me false information and have three charges today? If you charge me for false information, then you >> I can't validate what you're telling me, ma'am. I'm trying to give you an opportunity. >> What would you like me to do about that? I would like you to explain why she can't find your Florida DL. Or I'm going to charge you under the name that you've given me. If that's wrong, that's going to be additional charge. I don't know what to tell you. I came to DMV. I got an ID. You don't have any drugs or anything hidden in your bra or underwear? No? That's the original fine. All right, 4363 was the amount, right? 4363. Why do all yours work out fine? I do one for this this guy Yeah. and it's freaking a New Yorker that thinks this is [ __ ] New York. What's your occupation? After the arrest, officers met with her family to explain what had happened. They were not even surprised, as if they were already familiar with such behavior. Going to jail for one shoplifting. Shoplifting? Okay, she said she missed the scan. There's video of it happening. Walmart wants to prosecute. She's going to jail for shoplifting? >> It's shoplifting and one manage. She missed the scan. She took something with the stuff. She's going to jail for shoplifting. She's also She's also going to jail for resisting. She was fighting this deputy, all because she wouldn't get off the phone. She was asked to multiple times, would not get off the >> on the phone with her. I know. Then, she acted as though she was having a We had EMS come, check her out. She said, "I don't need an ambulance. I don't want to go to the hospital. This is stupid. I don't know why you guys had them come here." They checked her out. All her levels are good, blood sugar, everything that she could have possibly complained of. So, would you like to come inside to get her belongings? >> Yes. Can we just do one person? >> person. All right. Thank you. Can I have your name and shield number and your partner's name and shield number? >> Yeah, Stephanie Holly. >> 6025. And your partner? Ethan Dennison. I don't know his bathroom number off the top of my head. We will get those for you. You guys need to call me. You guys are really rude. Okay, well, let's go get your stuff. And another another two people that I saw. The suspect was charged with shoplifting and resisting arrest without violence. How quickly a minor retail theft can escalate into serious legal consequences when a suspect chooses to resist, deflect responsibility, and obstruct officers instead of cooperating. Attempting to shift blame or avoid accountability only intensified the situation, ultimately leading to additional charges and arrest. Next, this woman stole items believing it harmed no one. You have to do No, please, don't. You just So. It is. Okay, we were going to raise our brother people, but I don't get a very young On the 4th of January, 2024, officers were dispatched to a Subway store after receiving a report of a woman previously involved in shoplifting at Walmart. As soon as they approached her, she quickly denied everything. Hello. Hello. Hi, we have somebody matching your description that was shoplifting at the Walmart. No. They said they took off towards the Subway wearing an orange jacket stripes. Oh, yeah, no. I mean, they said they thought I was, but I don't have a flashlight. I didn't have a flashlight that I got at their store. Okay. I got one at Harbor Freight a lot earlier and I have I got matches and a rope cuz I'm setting up on my camp again and it's dark, you know what I mean? But I didn't need that. I just needed the matches and the so I could set up the tarp. >> you >> a receipt? Um for what? >> I thought you said you got matches and a tarp. Yeah, I got matches and a rope. Did you Did you have a receipt for the transaction? Huh? Do you have a receipt for that transaction? No. I'm just getting the salvage now. I don't know I I mean I bought it all over here. Bought what? The rope The rope in this Okay. All right. For what? For shoplifting. >> I did not No, I just bought that. Shop lifting. At this moment, instead of letting her continue making baseless denials, the officers took action ensuring there would be no chance for her to escape again. Okay. I did not No. >> Relax. You're being detained. For what? >> Shoplifting. You assaulted me. I didn't shoplift anything. Relax. You have to No, please, don't. You're just Hey. Give me your hands. Give me your hands. Why are you doing this to me? I don't want to be jailed right now. I don't deserve to be jailed or anything by this time. And you're going to do it with one tape. You are detaining. I don't detaining and I'm not doing this. Why do you have to arrest me? Why? You're being detained. Hey. No. Relax. Don't do that. My stuff. My stuff is on the floor. I don't want to lose my stuff. Relax. It's not fair you're putting it That's not fair. Nobody should get my stuff because you're a jerk. Relax. That's not fair. Stand up. No. No. You have to be fair, please. Please, somebody be fair to me. Please anybody please be fair. Please. I said to everybody. It's not right. It's not right. No. No. Relax. Take a seat. Given what had happened, the woman saw herself as the victim, which made it difficult for officers to obtain her information, potentially adding further charges against her. What's your name? Ma'am. What's your name? Ma'am. You're going to get charged with concealing. What's wrong? Ma'am, I'm trying to help you. You're being very uncooperative. How are you helping me? Help. Ma'am, I'm trying to figure out what's going on. You never asked me or nobody ever told you. >> Okay, then what's your name? It's not my business. Nobody even let me know. >> What's your name? Nobody even let me know. >> What's your name? I was to help you. >> Okay, what's your name? I was to help you and nobody let me know. >> You're going to get charged with concealing if you don't give me your name. >> finally just doing well and you made it worse and called me down. >> Okay, what's your name? No. No? Okay. She hit me. Huh? She hit me in the back. I don't know. Like when she was trying to turn and you were trying to get your cuffs out, I felt like I think that was her. Yeah, last clip I said I got it. It seemed the woman became panicked by what she had done, but in reality she showed little concern, instead starting to question the officers as if she were innocent. I have to be questioned after you read me those rights? >> Yes. Why should I care what to do? I don't know what to do. Okay. I'm doing the best I can. I understand that. I cannot handle all this pressure. I didn't do anything wrong. Okay. So, again, the reason why we got called is cuz of a shoplifter that was reported. I did see video footage of you >> shoplifting. Yes. How? What's on the video footage. What did I lift? What do you mean what you lift? What did I lift? What did you grab? >> What did I shop for? That's not shoplifting. If you if you grab something and then you leave that you shoplift. >> it all the time. Okay. Do you have those flashlights on you? What flashlights? You took everything. I paid $10 for that sandwich that I'm not getting now because of you guys. Okay. You know how much that cost to me and what I don't have? I'm sorry about that. That's a [ __ ] in my house. I don't know what I'm supposed to do. Okay. Do you have any of the >> What am I supposed to do? Do you have any of the And then will they let me out? What am I supposed to do? >> Do you have any flashlights on you? These people that are going to laugh at me. Do you have any Do you have any flashlights on you? I don't know. Do you have any of the >> what I have on me. I don't even know if I have clothes or not. I feel so stupid. >> have clothes on, ma'am. Obviously. My flesh is my clothes. >> I'm asking you a question. Well, I'm answering your question. Can I Can I check your pockets to make sure there's no flashlights so we can rule that out? So, what do you have me just take everything of value out of me because you already have? Okay. So, right now you're being detained, okay? For the crime of shoplifting. >> Obviously. Can I get out? >> No. Why? >> You're not free to leave. I'm not free to leave. I'm not trying to leave. What am I going to do, leave in handcuffs and then run around like somebody's going to set me free? Later, another officer arrived and he had clear video evidence to charge the woman. But what stood out was her reaction afterward. And where does it have me taking them? Flashlights. It's two packages. It's just like a regular long flashlight and then the ones that has the like the LED bar. Mhm. So, you guys want to pursue for the shoplifting? Yeah. All right. Why? Why can't you just ticket me? And make me pay you. Like I would pay you. I just don't have that much. I'll pay you all at once. Please, let me pay you. Okay. Well, unfortunately, that ship has sailed. I thought it was on a payment plan. No. Why can't I just pay you? There's there's no payment plan when it comes to Walmart or at least any business. >> I got a $25 dividend from them. Okay. Do you have anything on you that could cut stuff or poke me? I have a pipe, I think, but I'm not sure. It's in my little change bag. Okay. What do you have right here? No. You don't know? >> I don't remember. I have to just drop everything to me and I don't know what I have. I'll be trying to get to a spot where I can take it all out and go through it. You have a golf ball? I juggle. I taught myself to juggle during the COVID. >> That's pretty cool. Was it difficult to learn? Yes. Yeah. I'll say that's a useful I don't think so. I think it is. It gives me a lot of money to help myself and other people. But I don't get a very often to do it because nobody gives a vote. She was charged with shoplifting and resisting arrest. Denial and lack of cooperation only make a situation worse. Taking responsibility early can prevent additional charges and harsher consequences. Next, this woman had a history of nearly 60 years of shoplifting. You've been caught shoplifting before? No. Never? Never. You're 60 years old and shoplifting. On the 14th of December, 2025, officers were dispatched to a Target store after receiving a report of a woman attempting to push an entire unpaid shopping cart out of the store. This was what happened next. I can't do I was never shoplifting. Hopefully Open. All right, drop everything you have on you. Huh? In your pocket, turn it in. Go ahead and just empty it out. Obviously, this Perfect. Close this. Hey Vicky, why are we stealing this stuff? Huh? Did you pay for any of this? Yeah, we paid for the mail last time, Bradley. Why not? Is there anything in here that you did not scan? Be straight with Your bag. No, I I You paid for everything? Okay. Yeah. I got to check the bags now, though. Okay. What? What is that? $5? Yeah, I'm going to try one more of those. $5. How old are you? Uh 67. Have you been caught shoplifting before? No. Never? Never. What is this? Bag? Okay. The woman claimed this was the first time she had been caught in the act, but she did not state whether it was her first time stealing or not as the stack of receipts she carried showed that she had a clear plan to steal. What's up with all the receipts in here? Um my receipts go with my bought stuff. No, they don't. You use them to return stolen stuff. Huh? Huh? You have stolen stuff with you. I didn't know if you used it to No. I had baggies for all my receipts from stores. Okay. How much is all that? How much is that? Um 25 30 seat for Yeah. Where's the receipt for all this? I'm going to have to pat you down, so might as well just stand up. And then where the receipt >> Say you don't have anything else on you. Mhm. All right. Okay, you don't have to strip down. Just let me pat you down. Yeah. I want I Do you have anything else? I've got How much money did you spend here? $422. I guess I'm a little confused as to why we're still here. I got what's happening. It's It's in this one, I guess. Is this the only one? Are these yours? No. Are you sure? They look pretty brand new. >> Those aren't mine. Those aren't mine. I had stretch gloves. Are these yours? What is missing? Uh those those are hers. Oh, it's a test. See what happens when you steal in general? And you're old enough to know better. You ever been to jail? No. Never? No. In your life? No. Oh, my did I not tell you did you have anything else in your pockets? I thought I gave you them. Her deceptive behavior combined with an unusually calm expression only suggested that she appeared experienced in what she was doing. This led officers to immediately question whether this was truly her first time. I had my pocketbook. Let me tell you, a liar is a thief. Did you just steal? Yes. And you're a liar. Take a seat. You ever been to jail before? No. So this is going to be your first time? >> They didn't this basket was for. I you paid for everything on that card? I you paid for everything on that card? You know they got cameras above every register so they know what you paid for. Try. You tell me you paid for everything in that shopping cart? Yes. It was probably something like that. What is this pile? That's what I'm asking you. This is paid for. These were in her pockets, the broom. Did you pay for those two white things she has right there? No, those are mine. Those white things right there, no. The white things there, the little fluffy things? You paid for that? You paid for this? I I did though. This white thing I did. Well, this one was You didn't do the other one? Don't lie to me again. What? You That was Take a seat. Take a seat. Sit down. I said I paid for the white She showed no sign of guilt at all, behaving naturally as if nothing had happened, which prompted officers to issue a clear reminder about the seriousness of the situation. You're 60 years old and shoplifting. Absolute ridiculous. That one was I got the picture of the other one. So these things right here. Married? Single? You live by yourself? Yeah. Can you also tell me what they missed before they have to go through this entire basket. What for goodness? I don't think so. You don't think so? You should know what you took. It's not a game. I scanned all the clothes. You didn't scan all that [ __ ] that you told me you scanned. This is insane. Okay, but there's no way I can pay >> I can pay for And then you lie. Yeah, I'm sure you can, but you're not going to jail for anything, too. Okay. That's why our special period. We teach everybody a lesson that has shoplifted. You have to learn at your age and you have to learn at your age. You lied to me three times. >> only lied once. >> Usually if you don't want to go to jail, you don't lie. >> I think I saw a blouse. I think I saw Okay, yeah. I think all the rest of this stuff is cheap. I can't go to jail. You can. Please. That's not your option, unfortunately. Ma'am, this is the deal. If you shoplifted here today, you shoplifted prior to this, too. You didn't just all of a sudden say, "I'm going to shoplift today." Nobody ever does that. What was even more striking was that when she was asked about her motive for committing the wrongdoing, she answered without any embarrassment, giving an explanation that was difficult to believe. Tell me to do it. So, what was the entire purpose of you coming in here today? Yeah. To pay for some stuff and steal some stuff? Obviously, you got away with it a couple times prior, you said. That wasn't my intent. No. You stole from here before, didn't you? So, if you've done it before here, it was kind of probably an intention of coming in here and doing it again. Was it exciting? No. Then why do you do it? Cuz it's $40 and you just paid $400 for this [ __ ] What was it? Was it exciting? Did it get your nerves going? Get an adrenaline rush? Then what's your reason for it? Nothing good, I guess. Yeah, probably not. Oh, runner. Make sure she's good there and get some She just took my guy out of the county. She just took my guy out of the county. She's available now. Yeah, 23 is available. I'll get to paperwork now. Oh, her purse is right here in the front seat actually. I'm sorry. How many layers do you have on ma'am? She's already been searched too. Or we can go inside and solve this issue, and then we don't have to go down that route. It's your It's your call. I was I was standing right here when you walked out. So, let's go back inside and just try to figure it out. The police successfully persuaded the woman to return to the store to clarify the situation, and from her demeanor, it was clear she felt no remorse, even as she walked, acting entirely on her own terms. Honesty goes a long way with me, okay? So, I appreciate you being honest. Um did you not see me standing here? Okay. Okay. So, they want to press charges for the theft, okay? So, I'm not going to take you to jail. All right? All right. But, So, um And the first charges were apples. Well, you're going to get So, I'm not going to issue you a cite today cuz then I'd have to book you and release you, okay? So, like I said, I appreciate the honesty. Honesty goes a long way with me. If you keep that up, then this will be a a much quicker process, okay? There's two options that we have, okay? So, right now you are under arrest, though. Okay, just so you're aware of that. Um I'm going to At that moment, the search of the woman's bag was carried out. But the deeper they checked, the more suspicious it became. From lock-picking tools to other items she struggled to explain. Is there anything else in here that doesn't belong to you? No. Are you sure? Yes. Where'd you get these? I got those at Target. My daughter got them. Do you guys sell these? Yes, ma'am. Yeah. That's from Target. My daughter got them. I gave them to her. Okay. Okay. So, you don't have a ID or driver's license on you? Yeah. First claiming they belonged to a friend, then changing her story to a sugar daddy, forcing the police to track down the person on that ID. Who did she say this is? She says it's her neighbor that she's >> It's her who? It's her neighbor / boyfriend. Her neighbor? Yeah, which I mean if that's true then and he's okay with it then she can have it, but if not If she If she allow her I can have Yeah, if if he allows her to have that then she can have possession of it. >> Yeah, okay. But if not Okay, let's contact this person. Yeah. I'm going to leave this open or closed? Uh you can close it. Close it. Hello. Hey brother, you were the one that called this in? All right. So long story short uh this gentleman was here cuz I called him on another suspicious vehicle that was here that he went and cleared. When he came back and was addressing me with what happened he was like he just straight walked out. My apparel associate was behind her like "Hey, this girl just stole her purse. She hasn't gone through check stands." And he proceeded to follow her out over between the two red vehicles over there and he's like What's going on? He's like "Yeah, I didn't pay." What did she take? He's He's like "Yeah, I didn't pay for this stuff." Pay for what? Do you know what she took? Oh yeah, they're they're tallying it up now. It It's a big I mean there's probably over $100 just in alcohol alone in the cart. Okay, I'll work on this. All right, so what do we What was our grand total? >> $916. Can I have scissors? Can I have scissors? I don't know, you can take them. That pushed the case toward being treated as organized theft as she showed signs of having accomplices and even the fact that she had traveled a long distance to get there reinforced that suspicion. So your DOL address is out of Yakima. I know you don't live in Yakima. So where Where are you living now? I don't know, I'm Charline. You live in Charline? Yes, in North Carolina. Unfortunately, we're past that point, okay? I believe based off of shop right policy, you're going to have to be placed under arrest today for shoplifting, all right? It was clear that she knew exactly what was happening, yet she still tried to push the entire cart out of the store. That made her panic seem confusing as she even appeared to use it to make things harder for the officers. Where are we going? Where are we going? No more running around. No more running around. No more running around. I'm going to place you in handcuffs. All right, sit down. Sit down. All right. Okay, there we go. You got your orange juice with you? She's just going to have it. I got it. I see it now. She got two items in the left hand. Yeah. Is it busy today? No, it's been pretty good. Returning to the woman after everything had been clarified, the officers quickly moved forward with their next course of action. Take about half an hour or something like that, all right? >> Okay. A short time later, her relative arrived and it seems she had an explanation for the woman's condition. This was something All right. She's got schizophrenia and she is a god. She got some other things my sister has. Okay. Now, are you concerned with her mental behavior at this time? Earlier today, she was fine. Like, she went off on her own. We shopped, she did her own shopping, I did my shopping. In the store, she called me and she was like, "I'm going to the register. I'm going to pay cuz I want to go outside and smoke." I went and got Dino Nuggets. And I was like, really slow. I asked the guy, well, he left on a skateboard, but he helped me cuz I didn't know how to do it. I just moved here from New York. How to do the self-scan thing. Okay, okay. And then the guy told me she sweet, she stole, and then no, this is like a shock to me. Like, I did not expect this whatsoever. I'm like, I looked at the guy like, "Who would want to steal at this hour at night?" I'm walking out and I was in complete shock cuz it's her. Yeah, I get you. Now, now, is this behavior new or has it happened before or She's always had a little behaviors, but stealing is something new to me. No, I get you. Now, I'm more concerned with her her mental stability at In the end, she was ultimately charged with shoplifting. A moment of panic or desperation can never justify dishonest actions because the consequences will always follow, no matter how hard someone tries to avoid them. Next, the woman became increasingly unstable, making everything nothing but more difficult. Nail polish, I could have stolen it and got a lesser. Next time I'm going to. Actions driven by denial, instability, and refusal to cooperate only make a situation worse. Next, the woman had so many alleged offenses that she could not even remember all of them. I I just paid for everything. I just paid for everything. >> around, please don't pull. Please don't pull away. You said I'm going to jail? You're going to jail, yes. Oh my god, I have my dogs at the house and On the 8th of September 2025, police stopped a woman due to her involvement in a theft that had occurred. When approached, she denied it and attempted to evade in a suspicious manner. We thought you were quick. Yes. Okay. [ __ ] safe. Why? Turn around. I don't have nothing. I just paid for everything. I just paid for it. >> around, please don't pull. Please don't pull away. Do you have to carry boxes through the store like you usually do? Lift lift that up. Yeah, this is the right person. I have nothing that I can Okay, we'll figure it out, okay? Huh? It's about previous times. That's not about anything. No, no, no. That's all that's the location. No, I'm sorry. I haven't been taking my medicine. I'm I don't know what my name is. Okay, you're just detained now. I paid for everything that I got. Like I said, you're just detained now. You're not under arrest. And this is for suspicion of possible shoplifting, okay? Okay, walk that way, please. Do you have any weapons on you? I'll get it. No, I don't have any weapons on me. Okay. Shortly after successfully detaining the suspect, an officer arrived at the loss prevention office. It appeared that the security staff there had not been seeing her for the first time. Has several cases here. You have any files on This is a long time ago. So, I'm pretty sure she doesn't have to worry for one of them. At least they're meeting court. >> Nope, I don't. And if not, at the very least we want to get that formal trespass, but we can take care of the warrants too. I don't have any warrants. I just went to court for everything. You did go to court? >> Yes, I did. >> I said you're right now you're I have it in my car. Okay. I said you're right now you're just detained. Possible suspicion of uh shoplifting, okay? Um I brought my stuff down when I bought the medicine first to come and match your stuff in here. So, basically putting anything in the bag is fresh stuff that I have bought. From other stores, you said? >> Yes. And I have the receipts for them. For this reason. Okay, no worries. And I come here a lot. Now, in the past I might have taken stuff because I was doing it for the fact that I had to live. I understand. >> uh co- COVID really [ __ ] me up cuz I was working at the time. Got you. I mean, I give everybody my my name and everything when put these on hold and everything. Yeah. >> Why would I do anything like that? Um So, like I said, the last case would have been August 15th, which we filed on. Um I can't remember the officer's name. August 15th, July 1st, we have a bunch um as well as the El Paso stores, Bassett, Westside, and Okay, but as far as today, do you guys have We don't have any consumer today. No consumer or anything like that. Okay. It'll be uh formal trespassing and then she does have warrants on the system. That's for you guys. Before any background checks were fully presented, the woman still refused to back down, insisting that she had evidence proving her innocence. I was under the impression that you were taking some stuff today. That's not the case. That's why you're detained and I apologize for that. I still got a job to do, right? So, for today he's advising you you're not allowed to go back to the store. You're going to be formally trespassed today. So, don't come back to I believe this is the store and then the other Marshall if you come back they have you on video. And you could be subject to arrest at that point if they would do want to pursue charges, okay? Um I'm sorry. I do have paperwork for my warrants that I did have in my car. Okay. They did tell me tell me to hold them for a month in my car. So, I just took care of them last week. Okay. Well, this is an offense. It's from the municipal court system. Okay. It's for a first offense. That's the reason why you guys don't want her on the property. Yes, for previous For previous I guess incidents. I'm not >> been caught here or anything. I've never been told anything that I can't come here or anything. This is the very first time. >> Well, just so you know there are cameras. It doesn't mean you weren't caught on those cameras before and somebody recognized you, okay? Uh if they were dropped the cases I don't know how that's not the reason why I'm here. I'm just let he's just letting me know that there's has been previous incidents where they've been talking. I don't know when. I appreciate your honesty but I'm going to school and I'm trying to do right, so And I don't know when I don't know what happened but No, I don't know when cuz they never advised me of anything. At this point police also confirmed that she had an outstanding arrest warrant and as soon as it was mentioned she was visibly shocked. They want to you do have a warrant for shoplifting out of municipal court. I don't know from where, I don't know from when. I took care of that though. You took care of that? >> Yes, I did. When? Last week. Last week? Okay. Yeah, so I don't know who put it out, I don't know when it took place, but they do have one warrant for you, okay? Okay, so >> I'm going to serve that warrant today. About but I have my paperwork in the car. Like I said, I don't know. I'll look at the paperwork and I'll show it to you if you want me to. >> So, I'm going to jail? You're going to jail yes. Oh my god, I have my dogs at the house inside. I can't leave them. Is there somebody we can call? Um my phone's not working. Can I use your phone, please? We can call someone for you. A what? A bell or anything? So, you'll probably see a judge tomorrow early in the morning, and then you'll be out tomorrow. Well, I didn't I finish the paperwork? I'll show you the paperwork. I'm sorry. I have my paperwork at the court, and they just told me keep keep laying your card for 30 days. It's a misdemeanor. >> Okay. Might be I mean might be a another case. I don't know how many cases you had active. But how is that if I didn't ever get caught or anything? They didn't tell me anything. So, you're going to jail just for a marker from the store side, so you know, okay? The case The case that I'm referencing is from August 15th, 2018. The case is valid right Do you want to notify your mom directly? Do you know 15? But I didn't know I had a warrant though, so that's not right. That's against the law right there. So, No, but that's not right, because I still have a life that I'm living that's right now. >> So, as far as today, um like I said, there's no charges. They wanted you trespassing. When I pulled up, you were still on the property. You still you were walking out of property. >> was already off the property. You were walking out of property. You were right in front of the door. >> I was looking for She said she was unaware of the existence of the arrest warrant, but she did not deny the theft linked to it. She showed no sense of remorse, and even while sitting in the patrol car, her pleas continued. Can I get some numbers out of there, please? Yeah. Can I reach into your bag so I can get it? I'm not trying to be mean or nothing, you guys. I just I have to go to school, and I have to go to work today. job. I can't miss my job, dude. Like I promise I'll go to court in the morning. I think that that should be against the law, dude. What What should be against the law? to be serving me a warrant when I when they feel like it. Like >> So, it's I don't know what happened, but if they have probable cause to believe that you committed a crime. >> And I understand that. I do understand that, but I should be aware of like a warning. Like last time we went to Walmart. When I went to Walmart, they sent me a default Uh so, I went to go and I took care of it and then they there was off. >> You I was just with the other people who were assisting that earlier. I'm sorry? I have a clearance on it where they dropped the warrant. Like I said, I don't know what other other information it is. >> warrant is in recently the Yeah, it's not it's not a failure to appear or anything like that. It's a warrant from my previous employer. For traffic or what? For shoplifting. For shoplifting. So, you don't have to tell me anything, but if you get back track and think maybe this happened on this day recently? I haven't. That may be why. >> I did bring a bag in of broth and I was matching it to the clothes and that's what happened. I think I saw them putting the clothes that I bought in there, but I never took anything. You're all set, ma'am. Appreciate it. >> So, yeah, I understood that she was concealing it, but she was not. She was not. Okay. I didn't I didn't have anything. The last word I always got like for these people like with Christina Smith, they have a warrant called this back. So, with her, she's stolen from us. It just so happens I'm about 99% sure that warrant is from us. Yeah, I'm going to make sure when this incident happened. This happened August 15th. She was ultimately taken into custody and formally charged in connection with retail theft. Past legal issues, if not clearly resolved, could have returned and caused serious consequences, even when the person involved did not think they were at fault.
