Put your thing up here. >> Why? I'm not You're not me. Why? >> Now you're going into resisting. >> Yeah, that's too >> point. You guys are going to be detained for suspicion on the door. >> Can we step out because this is kind of embarrassing. >> Shoplifting is always a crime. Yet some people believe they have the right to do it without caring about anyone else. They act embarrassed when they're confronted in public or arrogantly insist they're innocent, but every excuse falls apart. When entitled shoplifterss meet nononsense cops, we're This is Law and we keep making these videos to entertain you and hopefully bring a little enjoyment to your day. If you enjoy our content, don't forget to leave a like and subscribe to support the channel. Starting with two women who thought they understood the law better than the officer. >> Well, you passed the last point of purchase. It wasn't the last point. We was at the first point. >> We know the >> going back. >> All right. >> I'm a scared driver. I don't want you flying somewhere. [laughter] >> On the 4th of February 2025, officers responded to a report of a shoplifting incident at Walmart involving two women suspected of stealing merchandise. When they arrived, both women were escorted to the loss prevention office. But instead of addressing the allegations, they quietly scrolled through their phones as if they had nothing to worry about. Do you have any receipts or anything or no? Do you have any receipts? >> You pull them up. Hold on. Let me get my wallet out of here. >> We'll get it. We'll get it. I'll get it. Okay. >> Oh, I received messages because I've been working for these two for the longest. >> Oh, okay. We'll just help us search and then you guys get your back. >> Where's He's supposed to be in here, too. Stop filling up all these receipts. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, that's He's not here today. >> He just called me. He know, too. Yes, he did. >> Okay. Well, you got my >> I got the receipts. You came in here, too. You already know. >> All right. Well, at this point, I don't know where he at this point, you guys are going to be detained. Suspicion of retail. >> Yep. >> Okay. We'll never walk out the door. So, we know the rules. >> Well, you passed the last point of purchase. >> It wasn't the last point. We was at the first point. >> We know the rules. >> Okay. Well, I'm not going to argue with you right now. I'm just going to read you the guys rights. >> I'm not going to argue. >> No, we're not arguing with you. >> You have the right to remain silent. >> What was on her phone that [music] seemed to matter more than the allegations against her. Moments later, she offered the answer herself. [music] >> Not this interview at any time. Do you understand? >> No. But can I say something? >> Yes. >> I've been working all the text messages. They let me come in here. >> Yeah. Huh? Look, I got the proof, baby. Look, you understand what I'm saying? >> No, I understand what you're saying, but I'm just letting you know I was able to come in here freely. Soal business walked out of here, too. I've been working for I've been coming here. Yes, sir. Down, baby. I got to look. No, I have nothing on you. Just >> But push the messages. That's all. They told me here to get >> So, if we look at the cameras, we're not going to see you guys stuffing your jackets with any merchandise. >> I have no jacket. Not even our jacket. >> That's not our jacket. I don't know who jacket that is. They're just like her. >> That's it. Go through all of them. And when they say item related, >> yes, I am. You know, her name got for her, too. >> I have nothing. I've been working >> and he just told me three times. You hear me? because [laughter] it say boss lady. Of course, >> she's boss lady. That's De. >> That's right. >> And then if you go to my for 2 years. >> Yeah. Of course, she works. >> Exactly. So, he must just got off work cuz he just told me actually. The woman in the white hoodie remained remarkably calm, convinced she had found the perfect excuse to defend herself. [music] Meanwhile, the loss prevention team insisted the evidence told a completely different story. Are you sure that >> go down? >> And they never even they still have more stuff. >> They never scanned any of this. >> What did they pay for? [laughter] >> What did they pay for? >> You didn't pay for none of the >> Okay. I work here. them work here. You can't take nothing on my phone, baby. I bet that phone bear. >> It's fine. >> It's a big money. >> Oh, I got it. Oh, okay. I got it. >> So, it looks like they were in Davenport, too. >> And they got a hit there in Davenport for them. >> Davenport. I have nothing. >> Almost. >> Which person? >> Oh, my name is Kesha. >> Kisha. Almost. How much your last name? >> My last name is Craig. I have nothing. >> Kisha. Craig. >> Yes. Sounds good. is here. >> Here. >> Do you guys have a >> No, no, I don't. I don't. >> But that's my name, though. >> My name is >> Take it down. >> Yeah. >> In fact, the two suspects claimed they had been helped by Walmart employees to steal the merchandise. Officers then separated the women [music] for questioning, and one of them tried to shift all the blame onto those employees. >> What are you guys doing here? >> Um, them. >> Like, I was trying to explain why she was talking. I have nothing to lie about. They already know what's going on and everything. The crazy thing about it is they called us. We wouldn't have ever been in here. Her name is, but her name to my phone is boss lady. If you scroll to my phone, all that cat food and sorry, I'm not racist, but they call it people food. So, it's like salami beef. That's all her food. I don't know why she playing dumb as the little the lady that just took the cards. >> Yeah, >> I know her, too. She's in my phone as well. Didn't find me as a cousin. Remember I said that's my cousin. >> He's he's his name is Big C. He just went through my phone. just called me three times. I have no reason to lie. I wouldn't have never been in here and s ain't called me to come in here. I They've been calling us and telling us to do this for the longest. So, like I told them, if I'm going down, y'all going down, too. Cuz I would never come in here without y'all permission. >> She right there. She moves people around for us. >> No, I'm not aggressive. I'm not aggressive at all. I'm not saying. So, you're saying that you guys call from here with the stuff that we got and that whole stuff that we got. Yes, sir. And I had no reason to lie or I would have never been. >> To continue verifying the story, officers interviewed the other woman separately and asked her [music] the same series of questions. >> You're an emerald, right? >> Like >> yes. Okay. >> So, what are you guys doing here? Um, we got a call and said that we were able >> He said that we were able to come in here. He needed a few things. Well, they needed a few things. Me few things and we could also come in here and get some things for ourselves. >> Okay. >> So, that's why we're here. >> You supposed to pay for that? >> I mean, they just we're going to wave the door so we can go through and do what we need to do. >> Okay. I just leave. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Without paying for stuff. >> I mean, some stuff we pay for, some stuff they just let us go through there. >> Okay. Does this happen? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> You feed the messages. >> How how often? >> You went through the phone, right? >> Yep. I saw the >> Okay. Okay. Last time I was like, "Who got the phone today? You just got a phone call." >> Yep. I'm saying before this time. When was the last time I had that? >> December. >> December. >> No. >> Okay. So, would you say it's like once a month or a couple times? Oh, man. >> Both women gave the same story, though it was unclear whether they had coordinated their accounts beforehand. [music] In the end, their claims were unsupported by any credible evidence and officers made their decision accordingly. [music] >> Oh, that's he at this point, you're going to be under arrest. Everybody real quick about that. No, I just not. >> But did you have a report? Did they tell you you were no trespassing? >> No, they said from Elmore and this is Rock Island. >> Nothing to do with saying that >> Elmore in Iowa. We cannot go and it was 24 hours this year. >> I'm sorry. I can't see. Sorry. >> No, you're not. >> Hold on a minute. >> No did not look. Sorry. I'm sorry. I was trying to see what I wear glasses so I can't see the paper. went out of seat. >> No, no, no. There's not a restriction. He just told us um >> We cannot go back. >> Basically, you want >> Can I tell her what? >> Basically, the second door that we went out of, that was the door they stopped us out. And what she said was, I don't know the lady name, but what she said was everything in our hand, hand it to her. We're not being detained if we give everything back. They called the police. We waited for the police. We gave everything back. They let us go. They told us that we was barred from Amore and that we cannot return to >> Kimberly. Kimberly, they said, >> they gave us a paperwork. They didn't say nothing about her. >> So, why did they put you in for $1,500, huh? >> No, we didn't say we had we had purses. That was it. Some >> What did it purses? Steve Madden. That was it. >> Hold on. Hold on. Let's go back. >> All right. I'm a scared driver. I don't want you flying somewhere. [laughter] >> In the end, both Lakesha and Emerald were [music] charged with felony retail theft. A story is only as strong as the evidence behind it. Blaming others or repeating the same excuse [music] won't outweigh surveillance footage, witness statements, and the facts. When the evidence tells a different [music] story, the truth always catches up. Worse still, the woman tried to play innocent, but only ended up making the situation far worse. >> I'm not [music] going to sit here and play games with you. It's not my first day. >> They put everything. >> They cut the attitude. On the 19th of October 2025, police were dispatched to Walmart after the store's loss prevention staff discovered a woman behaving suspiciously while shopping. Prior to that, all of the woman's shopping activities had been monitored through the store's surveillance cameras. still there. >> Of course, these chicks got to wait till freaking up to you, bro. If she does it, if you want to just deter or if you want to freak, it's I'll I'll leave that up to you, bro. I'm good with either. But if you want her, then we can do that and go that route, too. But >> I'll look her up. If she's in our system, then yeah, I'll presume if she's not, then I'll just >> I'll give the [ __ ] back and >> trespass her system. Yeah. Cool. Yeah, she's definitely not going to pay for that. It's like she's holding a baby, bro. >> He's [clears throat] trying to squeeze it in to try to hide it on both sides. >> It's falling out. >> Does she still have some stuff in her hand? >> Yeah, >> like two things. >> Two things. >> Yeah, >> it's easy, bro. Too easy. >> Yeah, she's taking off the See? >> Yep. >> For sure. She concealed. >> Yep. >> So, if anything, dude, she takes too long. At least freaking bring her back here. >> Yeah, she already >> she already concealed the product. So, what about her girl? She's not She's not doing anything right now. She's just with her. >> Yeah, she was instantly behind that. >> Yeah, we don't know what >> that rack could really see. >> But given that they split, they're back together now. >> They're right behind this. >> I think at minimum, bro, the girl in the white, we could trespass based on their behavior. >> I think she was one of the ones that pushed out uh out of like Christmas time for me for pregnant. Oh, >> they said if she's uh if she's trespassed already, then we're going to go ahead and sight her sight her. >> Yeah. >> She did not just conceal merchandise. The suspect also used a single barcode to pay for multiple different items at the selfch checkckout [music] and everything had already been clearly captured on camera. >> Now she's like nervous. That's why. [snorts] That's what happens when you commit crime. You mess up. >> I still logistics. >> I see what she did. What's up? >> There's a there's a bodysuit in there that's more expensive and she skinned the two black ones for it. >> Holy [ __ ] >> Damn. A She's slinging. >> For sure. You pulled a big old lot of cash out for sure. >> Yeah, she's slinging. >> Like how you going to steal if you got that kind of money, dude? >> That's so wild, dude. >> Um I don't see all >> That's crazy. >> I see like two two joggers. >> That is insane. >> I'm curious to see if they're just going to put that on top of that and push those. But that all still there. Huh? >> That's what she does. That's what she does. >> For real, huh? >> I think she just a holder. >> Yeah, I think so, too. She's going to scam it. >> Most stars. Great. >> And expensive. >> She's just kidding. >> You going to verify the receipt real quick or no? >> Yeah, I will verify cuz I saw >> where was that? >> As soon as the suspect passed the final point of sale and began walking away, the police quickly approached her. Let's see how she reacted when they confronted her. >> Need to hold up for a second. You need to verify your receipt. >> And you, young lady, need to come have a seat in the office. >> Yes. What are you yelling at me for? >> I'm not yelling at you. I'm telling you, we can sit here and play games all day, but we watch you on camera putting all kinds of stuff. Empty out all your stuff you got. So, look, I'm going to be real with you. >> Hold on. Hold on. Okay. Right now, I'm not gonna play any games. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Just let me talk for a second. But if we're gonna play games, I got I got all the time in the world. >> So, whatever you have in and your bag, I need you and put it all right here. >> And this is my I really did bring this. >> Okay. No weapons in your bag. >> Okay. Well, I don't want you pulling out something silly. That's why I'm asking. Okay. All those alcohol bottles. >> Yes. >> Get over here. So, if they check cameras, you're not going to have any alcohol bottles taken from here? >> No. So, I check them, please. >> Okay. >> You don't even like that. >> I need to see my ID, please. >> I didn't steal alcohol from here. So, I need to see my ID. >> I need to see your ID because right now we're going to deal with all the stuff you just stole. That's why >> I I put it there. So, I have to go. >> I didn't say that. I said if you cooperate, we'll see how this goes. I didn't make it. I didn't It doesn't matter if you have time or not. Look, I could put you in handcuffs right now and just take you to jail for shoplifting. You want to play these little games? She tried to play innocent because she had no idea the police had already watched every one of her actions. [music] But things became even worse when she began concealing her personal information, making the situation even more difficult. Not my first date. >> But I put everything. >> Then cut the attitude then. >> Okay. What's your name? >> It's right there. Sir, >> I'm asking you. What's your name? >> What's your date of birth? >> Sir, it's right there. No, I need you to answer these questions cuz again, you want this night to go a little bit better, then you need to start telling me the truth. >> What do you mean? It's right there. >> I'm asking you. >> I don't feel like answering. >> Do you just want to go to You just want to go to jail then? Is that what you want to do? So, that's what we're about to do. I'm I'm not going to sit here and play these little games with you all night. I asked you a question and you can answer it and cooperate. It doesn't matter. I asked you a question because I don't think that's you. Okay? And I'm asking you to verify the information that you provided me saying that's you. I'd like you to verify that. If you can't do that, I know you're lying. It's simp. It's I've been doing this for a while. And then you'll pick up another charge again on you. So, I'm giving you a lot of options. Other cops were just taking you to jail already. >> It's just >> Okay. So, let's quit playing games. >> I'm not. >> Okay. So, tell me your date of birth. Okay. Your full name. I don't know why you're getting upset with me. You're the one that decided to do what you did. Okay. I've been fair with you. Yeah, I haven't disrespected you. >> I'm sorry. I'm not disrespectful. I'm searching you. >> Well, there's got to be a consequence, right? Can't just go into a store and take stuff. >> The reason she tried to hide her identity was that she already had an active arrest warrant. The police gave her the opportunity to hand her belongings over to her friend for safekeeping, [music] but she showed no interest in doing so. >> You want to give your stuff to your friend? >> No. >> Axel, >> you don't? >> Why would I want to give it to him? >> So, you can give it to your friend for safekeeping, or we can take it into the station. But you can't take it from that. Why am I going to jail? >> You have one for your arrest. >> No, I don't. >> You do for violation of a court order. >> Give your property to your friend for you to hold. >> So, I'm trying trying to give you an option. If you want to give your property to your friend, >> my car, >> you're not even supposed to. >> You're not going to take it. >> You have an interlock and everything in your vehicle. >> It's my mom, sir. >> Okay. So, you don't have So, you can't even be driving it anyways. >> I'm not driving it. >> I know. >> That's my car, though. I'm not I don't think that she doesn't take it back to my mom. You going to tell her that? >> Either way, we're asking give me the option. You want to get the property you have left on your person? >> No, sir. No, I do not. >> Clearly, the woman showed none of the attitude you would expect from someone facing criminal accusations. Her defiant behavior only made the situation more tense. [music] And what she did next turned everything into chaos. >> Stand up. No, stand up. I'm not stand up. >> We're not going to be Hey, stop. your life. Stop being difficult. Stop being difficult. >> No, because I don't [ __ ] work. >> Yes, you do. >> No, I know. >> You will go to the ground if you don't cooperate. >> You're not even You just said it wasn't me. If you're making it a joke, you're not >> Give me your hand. Give me your hand now. >> Okay, fine. FINE. STOP. YOU'RE HURTING ME. WAIT. Give me my hand. >> Give me your other hand now. >> WAIT. Are you hurting me? Stop. Sir, I'm sorry. >> Turn over on your stomach now. I'm >> sorry. [snorts] >> That's not me. That's not me. >> That's not me. >> You have anything on you? >> Just get up and get her in the car, dude. >> Can you give me my friend there, please? >> Huh? >> Sit up. >> Wait. Can you please listen to me? Can you please put my wig back on? >> Please >> sit up. >> Can you put my wig back on and I'll sit up? Please pull it down. At least my hair. Please, sir. Please. >> She seemed more concerned about her hair than the crime she was facing. Even after being arrested for shoplifting, what worried her most while being escorted [music] to the patrol car was her hair and her personal belongings. >> Bullit. >> I got to have a seat. >> Steph, get my purse. >> Well, I'll get it in a second. Have a seat. Have a seat in the car. >> You guys ain't listening to me. That's [ __ ] up. >> Do you see anything in the vehicle? >> There's nothing in the vehicle. Anything that's left after you get out belongs to you. Let's have a seat. >> Have a seat in the car. >> We'll get your We'll get your bag, dear friend. Have a seat in the car. >> When you get in my bag, I'll be sit down. >> Can you not go shoot Manurva? >> Okay. Now, why do you guys Why do you guys tell me that? >> Cuz you're going to have to sit in the car. That's not an option. >> No, I'm not even Manurva. You told me that wasn't me. I'm telling you. >> I said it didn't look like you and you weren't telling me the truth initially. You wouldn't tell me anything. >> So, that's on you. >> Sir, I'm sorry. >> Okay. Have a seat in the car. >> Sir, I'm sorry. >> We can put you in a device that's going to restrain you. >> Sir, I said I'm sorry. >> Then sit down. >> Can we go Can you go run my name again? >> Have a seat, >> please. Sir, >> have a seat. >> Please don't. Please >> have a seat in the car. >> Can you go by my name? >> I already did. >> That's not me. You even said my name is Destiny. >> Please >> have a seat in the car. >> Please. >> Have a seat in the car. >> Destiny >> have a seat in the car. >> Pass that. You're going to jail regardless. It doesn't matter. So have a seat. You We'll run a different name. You want to give us But you're going to jail regardless. >> So have a seat. >> Please. >> Have a seat. It's too late. >> Okay. Have a seat. >> Otherwise, you're going to be put in something really, really uncomfortable if you want to do that. Would you rather do that? >> No, sir. I want you to get my purse. >> I'm going to, but you're going to have a seat in the car first. >> You're not going to dictate what happens. In the end, the woman was charged with shoplifting, [music] resisting arrest, concealing her identity, and violation of a court order due to an active arrest warrant. [music] One bad decision can often be corrected, but refusing to take responsibility and continuing to lie usually creates even more serious consequences than the original crime. Next, this woman even tried to dispose of the evidence, but she failed. >> There's nothing inside this bag at all. >> Yeah, just popped the magnets off. >> Yeah, that was in her pocket. She said she didn't know what it was. >> On the 25th of January, 2025, officers responded to a call from the Sunglass Hut at Coastland [music] Center Mall after a woman was reported for stealing sunglasses. What seemed like a simple shoplifting case quickly turned into something far more serious [music] with the total value of the losses reaching a surprising amount. First, here's what happened when officers made contact with her. >> Open this bag. >> There's nothing inside this bag at all. >> My sto parked over at the >> All right. Go out. Go out this way then. We're going out this way cuz I have another officer going. >> Oh, we can walk around here. Go out this way. >> Can you ask him if he'll sign a foreign statement for the side since we don't have press? >> Okay. >> What kind of car is it? >> Can they meet you over here as well? >> The car is open. I just said you could have walked that way. >> You have ID on here. You said it's in the car. >> Yeah. >> Where's it? >> In the parking garage. >> I let you search all of my stuff. I don't have any glasses. Where [music] you at? I don't know. This [ __ ] glasses take no [ __ ] glasses. >> So if y'all don't find no glasses, I can leave, right? Because I don't have any glasses. >> I'm one Charlie. >> I don't have any glasses. You're on video putting the glasses in your jacket. >> They're not in the store. >> Yes, they are in the store. I put the glasses back. >> So, if they if they want to press charges, then they can press charges. >> The glasses. >> She was then escorted outside to the parking lot to ensure she could not flee. Officers detained her shortly afterward. >> 30 seconds. No, I'm saying I let her know what's going on at least so she can get >> Yeah, but I want to >> turn your hand inward. >> There you go. >> At least let me make a phone. >> Okay, you can wait. >> You have anything on us that's going to focus us or anything like that? >> Okay. >> Can I at least make a phone call, sir? >> I just want to let my grandmother know, >> please. for what that is. So, >> yeah, I know what that is. >> So, you will be arrested for that a lot. >> Do you have other than you? >> No. >> Can I at least make a phone call, sir? >> Yeah. Why don't you make a phone call to whoever has a vehicle to come over here to get your ID? Can I give you my name? >> Can I make my phone? >> Okay. Okay. >> You want her grandma? >> At least so she can get my kids, please. >> My kids at a friend house, please. >> What's your birth name? >> J A B O N. J A V O N >> S H A Y E >> S H A Y E >> V A V I S >> Officers believed the woman had handed the stolen sunglasses to an accomplice because they could no longer be found on her. However, they still discovered several other items that were [music] believed to have been stolen from other stores. >> They've been doing this for weeks. >> You know, sink usually presses chargers. film. I'm not going to waste that. >> Uh, my 305. >> You put me in as >> No, we're not. No, I'm just kidding. >> Um Oh, no. Yeah, I know. >> What's going on? Yeah, >> I was sitting this way and then they had that other thing so I couldn't ask you questions. So, >> can hold on. Can you guys send someone to pink for me? >> Pink. >> Louis or um what is it? Victoria's Secret, I guess. >> And see, she had no receipts. >> It was difficult for the woman to deny what she had done with this much evidence against her. Officers [music] even confirmed how she had been able to get past the store's security. >> What is it? >> It didn't. >> Yeah, >> but there's no price tag on it, so she ripped the price tag off of them. I'm assuming you get out of uh >> terminal. >> That's what I think. >> But all it does is catch off. >> It is a heavy magnet just to pop it off. >> Anti. >> Did you send someone already? >> No. I mean, >> what's that? All right. Coming back. Thank you, sir. >> Was that a proper receipt? >> Um, >> yeah, cuz I have hard evidence. >> Um, do you have any you got any proper receipts available? If not, I got to get in there. >> I mean, I could do that. I could do that at the station. >> I can do it at the station. >> You're going to take it? Are you guys supposed to >> I don't know. Shitfish always calls me and I have to take it when I'm on our route. But you >> No, but I'm >> Yeah, it's usually cuz you're you >> I'm here, but I >> You leave it here all day. >> Yeah, they made me come in early. >> See, you were in the backyard now. >> No, I messed up and came in the wrong time. >> I wish to press charges >> on behalf of >> You don't even have to do that. Just I wish to press charges. >> Is she being trespassed? >> Yeah, she'll be trespassed from the mall. Definitely. >> Thank you. >> Yep. What I'm going to do is just sign this real quick and then if you want a photo of this for yourself real fast. >> This way you have the case number and stuff on it. >> In the end, the woman was charged with retail theft and possession of burglary tools. Bringing a tool to defeat [music] store security can become a separate felony, even if the stolen merchandise is never recovered. Next, a shoplifting crew was caught hauling around a mobile collection of stolen designer goods. >> Yeah. Isn't that weird? I'm looking to see if stuff is stolen that after you just stole. No, I take it seriously enough. >> So, the the clothes and stuff, I won't even begin to try and decipher. >> One of these confirmed that >> on the 12th of June 2023, police were dispatched to the parking lot of a Dillard store after receiving a report that four women suspected [music] of stealing several designer handbags worth thousands of dollars were attempting to leave. As soon as deputies approached, the suspects immediately and coincidentally all claimed they were not carrying any ID. for resumeuming online. >> You guys speak English? >> We don't have IDs. We don't have >> All right. So, what's So, what's going to happen? >> Get off the phone. Off the phone. What's What's going to happen is I'm going to get names and I'm going to get names and date of birth from everyone. >> If I find out someone's lying, straight to jail. All right. Not playing around with you guys. >> Okay. >> I need IDs now. >> I don't have one. >> Okay. >> It's hot in here. >> Nope. Don't care. >> I don't care because they're not open. I got too much. >> Okay, T 17. I'm going to be closer to the uh to the Macy's. It's occupied four times. >> 54. >> And can I get a 44, please? >> All right. What's your name? Copy. Let me know if you need I'm sorry. County 109 on your last channel. >> I'm good. Thank you. What is it? >> You're going to turn the car off, but just keep this door open. Hold on. Hold on. Open this door first. Just blast the AC so the kids get air and I'll have you step out. Okay. Yeah, you can step out for now. >> How do you spell your first name? >> M I C H E L M E. >> At that point, the deputy directly confronted them with the suspicions, all of which were based on the evidence that had already been reviewed. Unsurprisingly, the suspects showed no reaction beyond denying any wrongdoing. >> What's going on is you guys stole some bags. Okay. There are more than >> Okay, I have video of it, so you can say that if you want, but if you want to play that game, we can start playing that if you want. I have video footage of it. Okay, >> so we're going to go from there. We're going to see exactly what was taken. I mean, there's plenty of bags here. >> I'm sure there's no receipts for any of them, and I'm sure they're going to match exactly what was stolen. And then we're going to go from there. Okay. So, we're probably going to have we're confirming we're probably going to have charges on one, two, and three. And then, uh, it just depends if we have grand theft or m this, you know. So, let me ID them. I'm just waiting for him to get back to me. Hand me all that, please. [screaming] >> All the stuff that's down here. >> Okay, I'm going to look at it. You can hand me that, too. >> Get up. Sit down. Um, we do have an ambulance sent to 701 East W Road. >> But the recovered merchandise indirectly confirmed their involvement. [music] Even more damaging, the deputy later found one suspect's ID, the very ID she had previously claimed she did not have. >> That's weird. It's like I just asked you for your ID and you say you didn't have it. >> I didn't know it right now. >> That's weird. All that could have been avoided if you just hand me your ID that was next to you. >> Oh, I didn't know it was right there. >> Yeah, >> y'all got my [ __ ] Like not like my life. Open this up again, please. Oh. Um, hand me that stuff. Both of those. >> Okay, I'll check. >> You see, you see it's about real old. >> It is old, but it looks like it's never been used. You have a receipt for it? >> It's in the car. >> Okay. I need to confirm that it's not stolen. Oh, look at that one, too. >> If you thought the suspects had already handed over all of the stolen merchandise, they had not. They were still hiding more items. And the moment the deputy opened the trunk, everything became clear. >> Weird. >> It's weird. The trunk doesn't open. >> Can you have that water, sir? >> Yeah. >> Sir, can I get that water? There you go. >> All right. >> I know. >> So, the the clothes and stuff I wanted again to try and decipher. >> One of the employees confirmed that she was inside. She was inside with another with another female. >> Okay. >> I'm looking through the video now. >> Yeah. Just let me know which ones took the the colog cuz I think that's the only Macy's stuff we found. Unless one of these comes back to you guys. >> I mean, >> so I will check them and if they don't scan with us, I'll bring them back. >> No problem. Sounds good. Thank you. Thank you. >> Thank you, sir. >> No, that will help. >> Sorry to make you stand here in the heat. I don't enjoy it either, but I appreciate you. >> Yeah, they came back twice. They went to dealers once, shoplift, came back 2 hours later, took more stuff, and then they took stuff from the Macy's. So, they're just on a little spree right now with kids, too. It's ridiculous. >> The the clothes I would just like I'm not going to go through all those. Just the purses, the main stuff. >> Um, >> yeah. Okay. So, once let's figure out which ones are yours from these from this group. In addition, after verifying the woman in the blue shirt's information, deputies discovered she had an active arrest warrant, [music] prompting them to immediately place her under arrest. >> Sorry. Can I step in one more time, please? >> Just go over the car here. You got a warrant. So, he'll he'll put you in handcuffs and send you his car. Okay. You have nothing else on you? >> Yeah, we'll we'll figure that out in just a bit. Okay. All right. Here. Come over here. Your back, please. Just an FTA, I believe. I'll look at it further, but you miss out of Hill. I go and put your hands on your back. So, I I would do it as if you were praying like this. No. Yeah, it's way more comfortable here for any you got anything on you? Any weed? Anything like that? No. It's okay. You know what the war wants for? No. All right. You can't be doing stuff like this. You know what I'm saying? Or else it's never going to stop. That's the issue. But you're young, so you got time to change. All right. Where you living right now? >> The four women were charged with theft. [music] The woman in the blue shirt was additionally taken into custody on her outstanding warrant and charged with violating her probation. No crime exists in isolation. [music] One illegal act has a way of exposing every other lie, every hidden secret, and every consequence waiting behind it. Next, [music] this woman even tried to shift the blame onto her friend, but her attempt ultimately failed. >> So, I bag this stuff. I do it all the time at my Publix. I've never had an issue. >> So, that's what I do. >> Please don't take me to jail. >> Okay. Have a seat for, please, please. I'm so scared. >> On the 10th of June, 2025, officers received a report of a shoplifting incident at a public store. The suspects were believed to be two women who attempted to leave the store with merchandise without paying for it. [music] To better understand what happened, the officer first listened to the store employees account of the incident. >> So, what's going on? So basically they came in here, started loading up on us, right? Load up at the end. The one friend grabs the cart. It's nonpaid for. She paid for a few more things in her cart and drugs the unpaid part out the door. But when I watched her on the video before, she loaded up her reusable bag and came in here and got reusable bags off the shelf, rusted them open, start packing. Well, she didn't pay for reusable bags. It's two bucks. Whatever. She started loading that thing up and she didn't pay for any of it. She knew we were on her and started paying for it slowly multiple times. But so she actually already paid for all of it because she's smart and she found out the other girl behind her has a part and she's saying it's not her apartment. So I told her just go get your car. >> Yeah. So she's in there. So right now she has not committed a theft yet. >> Oh, it all made it all the way up. >> Okay. So she walked out. >> Yeah, she walked out. But the problem is is who's owning that part? Because she was walking from the bathroom. This one's pulling it. And she's saying that's not mine. That's her car. She was supposed to pay for it. But meanwhile, she pulled it all the way through. >> Shortly afterward, the officer [music] approached the suspect. She voluntarily stepped forward and immediately began making excuses as if she was trying to get ahead of the situation before the officer could question her. >> I literally thought that she paid for the stuff and she didn't. And they said something about how I had the stuff bag. I'm autistic. It has to be bagged like that. We already have [music] >> I have the money to pay for this stuff. >> What's going on? >> Okay, so [music] I'm autistic. Things have to be bagged a certain way. So I bag the stuff. I do it all the time at my Publix. I've never had an issue. So [music] that's what I do. That's what I was doing. And my friend pulled the cart for me because I had to go to the bathroom. I was arguing with my boyfriend. And when I came out of the bathroom, she was standing [music] customer service and I just walked out of the store. Like that's what just happened. >> Okay. But you didn't pay for your stuff. [music] >> No, I said that as soon as he walked up there. I said that. >> You got your ID on you? >> I don't have an ID. >> You don't have an ID? Where you from? >> I was [music] Please don't be >> [snorts] >> Okay. >> Can we step out there because this is kind of embarrassing. [music] >> Embarrassing. >> Embarrassing. >> No. >> I understand that. >> I 100. >> I have no idea. Stop. >> The woman identified as 33-year-old Cherokee Marie Spalding [music] tried to place all the blame on her friend. However, when the officer asked for more information about that friend, [music] her answers only made the story seem even more suspicious. >> What's your friend's name? >> Lisa. >> Lisa what? >> I don't know. >> No, to be honest with you, my mom kicked me out of my house the other night. So, I was staying with my cousin and that's who I couldn't live. >> Where' she live at? >> That way. I can give you the drive. A black car. Is she black boyfriend? >> No, >> she's gay. >> Jeep around. >> No, I haven't seen her. >> Please stop talking to me so aggressively because I'm not being rude. >> I'm asking you a question because I'm trying to find out. >> Okay, I understand that. But I don't even live here. >> Like, I honestly have no idea who you're talking about. If I did, I would tell you. Like I really wasn't trying to steal. If you don't want me to ever come back to your store, that's fine. >> But I I wasn't being I wasn't trying to do something wrong, though. >> Hey, >> um I just got left at Publix by the girl that I was with and my other bag is in her car and I can't pay for the So the people think that I was trying to shoplift and I wasn't. So, I'm standing at Publix and it's like $110 and she has my bag now. So, I'm kind of >> Do you find it strange that she was able to call someone else to claim she had done nothing wrong yet never tried to call the very friend who was involved in the incident? The officer then reviewed the surveillance footage provided by the store which confirmed her actions. With the evidence making the situation clear, the officer made the decision to take action. >> It's an iPhone charger fee just so I can pay for it. Do you have an iPhone charger so I can pay for it? Um, we'll get there. So, Chery, do me a favor. Put your hands behind your back. >> Okay, give me a second. I'm >> scared. Please, please, please. >> Yeah, give me a second. >> You cannot have in a secure facility. >> Please, please, please, please, please. Please, I'm asking you a question. Anything on you that you cannot have in a secure facility? >> I No, I don't know. Please, please, please, sir. Please, please, please, please, please, >> I know what they do. I'll do anything. Please don't take me to jail. >> Okay, have a seat for please, please. I'm so scared. >> Okay, breathe. >> I'm so scared. I can't. I can't. >> So, here's the thing. >> Okay, >> listen to me. Okay. Okay. [laughter] >> Are you on probation right now? No, no, but I just got out of prison. Please, please, please, please, please, please, please don't do anything. Please listen to me. Please, please, >> calm down. >> The woman appeared to be playing the victim throughout the incident, but her trembling seemed to come from something else. She was anxious because she was hiding what was inside her purse. The officer confronted her about it. >> So, you were saying something was in your purse. What's in your purse? >> I don't know. >> What did she give you? >> She gave me a black case. >> A black case? >> Yeah. What's in the black case? >> Two needles. >> Two needles. >> What's in the needles? >> I don't know. >> They empty. >> They full. >> They're empty. >> I know. >> I'm so close to getting my physical stuff. I'm really tired. I'm really I'm working everything I have. >> So, listen. >> Please. Please don't wait. Just don't wait. Please. There's nothing in there. There's nothing in here. >> There's nothing in there. No, it's not even enough that I can tr It's not It's not weight or anything like that. >> I swear to God. >> So, it's just two needles. >> It's two needles and two little baggies. >> What's in the baggies? >> I don't know. She just found them in her car. >> But she gave them to you to carry in your purse. >> I just threw them in my bag. I don't know why. I'm I'm not I'm not okay. I'm not there in my head. I'm not at all. I do really stupid stuff sometimes and I try to make people happy and they tell me what to do and I do it and I don't know why. >> Okay. All right, Cherokee. Give me a second. >> Okay. Can you please help me? >> I don't know. I don't even know what's in there yet. >> Can you look now? >> Yeah, I can. I'm not just going to take it and not look. In the end, [music] the woman was ultimately charged with shoplifting and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. After the evidence contradicted every excuse she made, she was taken to jail and her bond was set at $5,500. A lie may buy a few minutes, but evidence can erase it in seconds. When people keep shifting blame instead of accepting responsibility, every new [music] excuse only makes the truth harder to deny. Owning up to a mistake early is always less costly than trying to cover it up. Even more astonishingly, the woman actually tried to flee while wearing handcuffs. >> They've got you on camera here yesterday also, right? >> I wasn't here. >> Well, you're on camera from here yesterday. That's two. All right. >> She's going to >> On the 8th of May, 2022, officers received a report of a woman attempting to steal merchandise from a rural King store by using a fake receipt instead of paying for the items. When they approached her, she tried to deny everything. >> Officer, uh, you mind if I can get your driver's license real quick? >> I don't have one. >> You don't have a driver's license? >> No. >> Um, just hold on one second for me. All right. >> Why? >> Why? >> Yeah. Yesterday you came into the store and >> Yeah, I got online receipts, too. And the lady even checked it all out yesterday for me. >> Show us the real king reference stuff. All >> right, here's my online receipt, too. >> All right, man. Cuz I saw you pass yesterday. >> Here's my email, online receipt, invoice. >> I'll let your first name Sarah. going to be standing next to a blue 07 Dodge Durango and be parked under one of the big trees. >> Ma'am, >> just for so you're not being embarrassed at all. Can we go to the back while we sort this out? >> Um, well, I have kids out in the car. >> You have kids out in the car? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Here's the car running or >> No, it's not running. There's the online receipt. Okay, there's there. Okay. >> Well, let's walk back here so that we're not up here in front of everybody and embarrassing you. Hold on. This was tast. >> Okay. >> Thank you. We We just >> Although she appeared calm, her behavior was rushed as if she was panicking about something. Meanwhile, the store employees explained why they believed the receipt was fraudulent. >> I mean, some of the stuff on the bottom is in his handwriting. >> Well, the this is from our shop. That's his handwriting. He he recognized that. He's like, "Yes, I wrote that out. That's for weed eater. This stuff down here is not his handwriting and it's not the other mechanic's handwriting. He said he knows his handwriting as well. And when we do a when we do a um paid in pole like that, >> that's done up front of the registers, not back there at the shop. They wouldn't do that because they have to pay at the register. Uh everything that's on there >> Uhhuh. >> the two compression and everything that we had our camera for yesterday. Um everything is still in boxes. When people bring stuff to the shop, they don't they're not bringing them in boxes. This is from yesterday right here. >> Yeah, the two compressors. >> I just put that I just put that in. >> Leave your purse here then. >> I'm still figuring out where I need tampons and stuff. >> I'm just walking through the store with tampons in my hand. >> This do us a favor. Here's here's the problem. There's been a crime alleged. Okay, >> I have receipts. >> I know this this >> what did I say? A crime's been alleged. We're trying to get to the bottom of it. But because that crime has been alleged and there's evidence of that, >> we have caused to where we could arrest you. We're trying to be >> okay >> cordial about it. So if you could do us a favor, if you need a tampon, grab one, take it with you, leave the purse here. She will go with you to the bathroom. Okay? >> In fact, this was not the first time the woman had done something like this at the store. She returned because she had successfully carried out the same scheme the day before. At that point, the officers confronted her about it. >> So how many generators did you buy? They said there was one gener I don't know honestly. >> You don't remember how many generators you bought? >> It wasn't me that bought it. It was somebody else. >> They've got you on camera here yesterday also, right? >> I wasn't here yesterday. >> Well, you're on camera from here yesterday. >> I see it cuz I wasn't here yesterday. >> These cameras do not lie. And we have all the time in the world to investigate this. And we're going to keep you here until it's over. So, >> if you do not cooperate with me, I can assure you that we will do everything we can to keep you in jail with a high bond. You understand that? >> Lock in with you, sir. Okay. What we've got you on video today doing is selecting the items off the shelf and walking past all points of sale without providing purchase. >> I was walking past the points that was at the register when they came up to me. >> Did you purchase these items today at the register? >> Yes, at the register. I showed the girl the receipt for it. >> Well, you showed her a receipt. Did you buy those items today? >> No, I bought the the block and then when she came up, I was going to buy the two things of the I mean, I got the money in my purse and >> Have you ever been arrested before? >> Yes. What was it for? Uh, >> I was with a girl for pay theft once. >> Theft? Why has that not surprised me? How many times have you been arrested? >> Once. >> Are you from Pasco County? >> No, sir. >> Have you ever been arrested in Pasco County? >> Once. >> What's your social? >> I don't even know that one cars in my >> All right. >> First off, I'm I'm over 40 years old. I'm not going to sit here and listen to somebody that listen to me. I'm not going to listen to somebody that's 30 something years old tell me they don't know their social. >> You're going to get one chance to lie to us and then I'm going to start charging you. You understand that, right? Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> When he runs that, if it's not your social, you're going to jail right now. >> I believe that's my social. >> Okay. >> The officers were still unable to find any social security information in the system using the number she provided. She tried to keep the deception going, but the officers decided it was time to put an end to it. >> Good. Cuffer, stand up for me. >> Why? Put your thing up here. Why? I'm not being [ __ ] No, you're not [ __ ] me. Why? >> Now you're going to jail for resisting. >> Why? Excuse me. Excuse me. My sh my my my my purse. Please >> let go your purse. I'm resisting arrest char. Why? I'm not resisting. >> BECAUSE YOU'RE RESISTING. RESISTING right now. You're resisting resisting. >> Because you pulled away from my sergeant and tried to flee. >> I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. I don't understand why you're 1050. >> Why are you taking me to jail? >> You're under arrest. >> Why? >> Right now for false name. Why ID to Leo and resisting arrest? What else do you want? >> OH MY GOD. >> STOP. >> GOD. >> YEAH. TEMPER. We're still trying to verify this subject. It's resisting right now. >> This is crazy. >> This is absolute crazy. OW. OW. PLEASE. YOU'RE CUTTING MY ARM OFF. >> STOP MOVING. GOD DAMN. YOU'RE GOING TO REACT. PLEASE. >> You're You're flinching. Stop flinching. I'm not trying to, >> ma'am. >> Ma'am, please. Come on. YOU'RE CUTTING MY CIRCULATION OFF. LOOK. Look how SOMEBODY STOP. >> God damn. IT'S ON MY PHONE. PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEASE. Oh my god. >> Stop. Please. >> Damn it. >> Holy. Really? >> REALLY, LADY? COME ON. PLEASE. NO. DAMN IT. WHAT are you doing? >> You're You're being very dramatic here. >> No, I'm not. >> Turn your wrists. Turn your wrist. That hurts. Pull away while she FIXES IT. >> I'M NOT RIDICULOUS. Have a seat. >> God. >> She then added another act to her game by pretending to be the victim. Even then, her arrogance showed no signs of stopping. Her next move was even more foolish. She actually tried to flee while wearing handcuffs. >> That's two. All right. >> Why are you guys doing this? >> My computer. >> Why? >> Come on. Ow. >> Stop. Why are you being SO FORCEFUL, DUDE? >> BECAUSE you're resisting NOW. STOP. >> I AM NOT. We can discuss this. >> Go to jail. >> You're going to jail? >> Cuz you did not cooperate and be truthful with us in the very beginning. >> I'm going to jail. Please. >> Please. Oh, >> no. You caught felonies now. >> What do you think about this woman's behavior? Leave your thoughts in the comments below. At that point, the officers explained the charges she would be facing. >> I've lost everything, isn't it? >> So then who was in the car? >> Huh? >> Who was in the car? Cuz you said your neighbor. >> Yes. >> Who's that? >> Linda. >> Linda who? >> And then you and then you threw it away. >> Oh, >> second chances. When I gave you when I was talking to you and gave you a chance, you you in there. You could you could have come clean on everything on who you are and everything going on, but instead you chose to continue to lie. >> After lying to the other officer, you continue to lie to me. You continue to lie to our sergeant. >> Whose cuffs are these? >> Is that face the car? >> Put them in your box. That's it. Bring them back and put them in your box. Huh? >> Got another set or give me your stand right here. Face this wall. No. 31. They're all out of 10. So, you're going to have to deal with an eight for now.
