So, how do officers handle them, especially when some show absolutely no shame? >> First of all, you have a woman in handcuffs. >> Yeah. And she's a mother. >> Okay. >> I'm at respect. You're at disrespect. >> Your weapons don't even >> Okay. >> Here are the times when shoplifterss think their theft was effortless. >> Starting with this woman who tried to run away and beg her way out of trouble. behind. Oh Jesus, please stop being nice to me. >> We tell them that we don't we don't make that decision. >> On the 28th of August 2025, a woman was suspected of shoplifting at Home Depot and running out into the parking lot. While another suspicious action had also caught the officer's attention. They >> ran away from me and threw the purse under the truck. >> That was my return, guys. >> That was your return? I guess for >> you want to >> We can now loot the long arm of the law. >> All I wanted to do was talk to you to figure out if you took anything and you ran, right? >> No, I was going to my car, sir. Please. >> Okay. >> Please. I'm back. Please. >> No, this is not her. Where's your car? >> Where's your car? I got her keys in my pocket. >> Where's your car at? >> Right there. >> No, right here. >> Yeah, they still sir. >> Please. >> Which car is yours? >> Don't beg me now. You could have just told these people you got >> She said it's that white truck. They they they want you arrested. So there's nothing that we can do. >> We don't we don't make we don't make that option. We don't have >> she said that she was trying. You're you're as of right now you're you're being arrested for uh maybe >> retail. We don't we don't make that decision. >> They do. All right. So it's out of our >> I apologize. I'll do everything I can. Just please. Her desperate pleas showed no signs of embarrassment, but all her efforts seemed in vain as the officers remained firm, proving that they were nononsense cops. >> I have to get my daughter. >> I asked them what they wanted to do. >> They want they want you to go to jail. There's nothing in the receipt. >> Please, >> we can have you. We can have you in >> You'll be out before. >> Please, I'm begging you. >> The little receipt or whatever she took. >> You You'll be out before the >> But you're going to jail. I'm begging you guys, please. >> That's it. >> I'm begging you, please. >> We want to put our We can put our stuff in the car and just take her license or whatever. >> Guys, I'm begging you. I'm begging you. I'm begging you. I have a kid that I have to >> Where do you live? >> In Beach, >> please. I'm begging you. I'm begging you. I'm begging you. >> Stop. You can stop begging. >> Okay. I'm sorry. >> Stop. >> I'm sorry. >> I'm going to grab her journey and stuff now. >> I'm not a criminal, guys. tell you I never been in here. >> You know what? >> Oh my gosh. Why are you taking my stuff? >> You know what though? No, it's it's okay because she's she's going to be uh >> what do you call it? Yeah, >> we're going to have her in and out. >> Please, I'm >> No, listen. Listen, Emma, right? Emma, for the last time, I don't want to hear anymore about Please, please, please. You're going to jail. End the story. Okay. Not because I want you to or stop. You're going to be done in in in less than an hour. You got to make better decisions. You did this to yourself. He He didn't do this. He didn't do this. I didn't do this. >> The woman seemed to know exactly what she was doing, and her repeated pleas made it seem as though this wasn't her first encounter with the police. Meanwhile, the value of the stolen merchandise was also beginning to be established. >> How you doing? >> I'm with you, sir. >> We are We at 100 already. And then just what he going to get right now. >> These are all the same. >> No, they not coming up. >> No, they I was waiting on out there to get me the uh the cord. Yeah, the uh charger. >> Stop. >> No, there's nothing apologize for. Just don't come back here again. >> Hey, what would you say to him that he's over there laughing? I don't know. >> What What can I do to you? >> There's nothing. We We can't let you go. They want you to go to jail. >> You're going to jail. >> We're going to take you to jail. We're going to fill out some paperwork and you You're going to go You're going to be gone before 12:00. >> What's going to happen when my car >> You're going to come back and pick it up? >> Yeah. We're going to take the keys to the station. You can come back finally to get >> Can you loosen up a little bit? >> Are you going to run? All right. >> Please don't run. >> All right. >> What's going on? >> She got the pinch to steal some items. >> Okay. >> She tried to the long arm of the wall. >> Your car's over. >> She didn't She didn't realize she was trying to probably the fittest person right there. >> It hurts. >> It hurts. >> Boy, this isn't your first time doing this. So, >> excuse me. I never been in this Home Depot ever in my life. >> I don't know. That's what he said. >> I I I live in in Beacher, so I know the one in >> So why aren't you in Beach right now? >> I can't believe they tried to run for me. >> You tried to run from >> I was going to my car, officer, >> did you hear me say ma'am? Hold on one second. >> I was not I was not trying to run away. >> Can you look at me and say, "No, no, leave me alone." >> I thought the the the Home Depot guy was behind me. I'm sorry. Although the loss amounted to around $100, her repeated shoplifting behavior could make the charges more serious. And one thing was certain, she wasn't going to walk away from this easily. >> You you'll you'll be out for them. >> It's my car. >> Come on. Come on. Let's get you out of here. >> Oh, is that her? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Give me a second. >> He's going to have you in and out. We're good. >> Yeah. It's no big deal, man. I'm just going to go do some paperwork and then you primary owners. >> Sorry. since I was on the phone. >> I'm sorry to all of you. >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I was I was just I'm on the traffic ground, but I was just right here, >> guys. I'm sorry to all of you. >> No, I don't. You know, I don't want to be coming giving people papers, you know. I was just >> I was just right literally right here in the area. So, I was It's okay. I want to do the same thing. >> I'm sorry to all of you. >> Yeah, no problem. This is what we do every day. >> No worries. >> There you go. I mean it wasn't like full >> let's hop into hop in my car here. I got your bag. Don't worry about it. Your car's going to sit right here. >> So, we're not going to take it. So, you come. You'll probably be on a little bit and just come back and get it. You can call whoever you want me to come pick you up and I'll bring you back over here. In the end, the woman was charged with shoplifting. Repeated shoplifting can turn what seems like a minor incident into a more serious legal problem. Trying to flee or making excuses will not make the evidence disappear, and the consequences can be far greater than the value of the items taken. Next, this 54year-old woman was caught concealing merchandise inside her bra. >> What am I doing wrong? Why am I doing >> so people watch you stuff? Yeah. >> Where I would have to look and study the camera like where she was walking throughout the store if she had anything else. >> On the 18th of April 2023, on a windy day, a woman stopped by a CVS store, things took a turn when she was suspected of concealing merchandise, prompting employees to call the police. The moment she stepped outside was when an officer approached her. >> Man, how are you? Hi. So, what's in your purse? >> Okay. Did you stuff anything in your shirt that you didn't pay for? You know the security camera there, right? >> Okay. Well, come here. Come here. You're going to talk to my partners right now. Okay. Come here. No, no, no. Come here. >> Sit here and talk to my partners. Okay. >> What's up, man? Uh yes, Alex is called you and she will explain you the the lady. >> That's all right. >> Yeah. >> Okay. She stuffed down her shirt. >> Everything. Yeah. >> Okay. >> So, she came in and I was dressed in the candy aisle. Look like she just stuffing her the plastic stuff. >> So, basically, she just took whatever food and then she just kept on walking around. She didn't really put anything in her basket. We just had actually a customer coming in saying that she didn't see anything in another in another CVS. So, I'm sure she's lives around the area because she's usually that customer is usually usual customer here. She works at >> uh Do you have your ID and camera footage? >> Yes. >> No, it's actually a visual. >> But I don't I don't know if she was anywhere. I would have to look and study the camera like where she was walking throughout the store if she had anything else. >> Can you describe your ID for me? >> Yes. >> I'll be right back. The employee made the allegations with a tone of certainty, making them easy to believe. Meanwhile, the woman outside was already preparing excuses of her own. >> So, people watched you stop. >> Yeah, but I put it down. >> That doesn't matter. >> I didn't matter. >> That doesn't matter. >> So, now I'm getting down. >> What do you mean? >> I'll be arrested. >> You Well, you just admitted to concealing items. >> I didn't take nothing. I put this I think I put it again. >> Okay. So, no. You are pretty. [music] >> Okay. >> So like nothing like like nothing. >> Yeah. Nothing like All right. So, typically, >> be honest. >> Typically, if if you guys talk to the judge, when the last time you got arrested, we're in trouble. I don't mind. >> Seriously. All right. So, we talk to the judge. I mean, >> yeah. So, we're going to have to judge. Obvious that >> um we're not going to be here longer than 4 hours. We don't keep our station long. We try to keep it longer than that. Under the officer's questioning, the woman eventually began to come clean, even admitting to her previous history of shoplifting. >> I I have a couple questions to ask. You should talk to me. >> Okay. So, what is inside? >> Two what? >> Okay. So, we're going to have two or now. Did you take anything else? Did you anything else from the store inside your bar or any part of your clothes? No. So just two months. That's that's it. Okay. Have you ever been arrested before for shoplifting? >> A lot of stuff. Okay. We're going to check. Do you have any warrants? The police will work. >> Okay. >> Yeah, please. Thank you. >> Have your what? >> So the search sheet has all your property. >> Yeah, it's in the >> I didn't I didn't go in the bag. So everything's in your bag. He can check real quick to see the >> All right. Just turn >> around that way. >> We're going to try to lose them. All right. >> All right. You know, just just step out the car. >> You take that phone call from me cuz she's going to be over there waving. >> The woman was later uncuffed, but she wasn't being released. Instead, the officers gave her a chance to hand over the merchandise she was still concealing. Infamili uh your handcuffs back on. >> Is that the last? Is that Is this the only two things you have? >> Okay. >> Nothing in here. Nothing down here. Nothing. >> No. Look. Look. >> You're fine. Look. >> All right. Good. Give me your hand. >> You come out here real quick. >> All right. >> All right. I'm going to put the handcuffs back on you. Okay. And now we'll transport you. Try to get you as fast as possible. All right. >> I can't. Unfortunately, I can't. Sorry. >> Are you guys from Burton County? >> You're from Bergen County. >> You burn County, too? You live in Dar. >> I mean, you're saying you're not familiar with Bon County, but you live in B County. >> Do I? I mean, I grew up in >> tear who I look like or >> you can um you can step back in the car now. In the end, the woman was charged with shoplifting. Even when the value of stolen merchandise is relatively low, concealing items and having a history of shoplifting can still lead to legal consequences. Being honest and cooperating with officers may help the process, but it does not erase the actions that led to the arrest. Next, this shoplifting woman returned to the store after her own accompllices had left her behind. >> Yeah, the pinky jack. >> All right, you stay right here. over police record on body cam. What's going to happen is you're going to be taken in, you're going to be processed, you're going to be released. >> On October 27, multiple handbags and jewelry worth $1,675 were reportedly stolen from a Mark Jacobs outlet at Jersey Shore Premium Outlets in Tinton Falls, Monmouth County, New Jersey. Around three to four suspects were believed to have fled the scene, prompting officers to investigate. The store employee then provided a description of the suspects. blacks me in >> sir. Did one did just one person take something or all three? All three of them like combinedly. Yeah, >> they all took something together. >> Yeah, for the most part. Um, one of them tried to so she didn't successfully, but yeah. >> Okay. >> Did they do any damage to anything in the store or >> what else? >> Uh, she had like like a little ponytail like ponytail. >> She was shorter. She was the shortest one. [music] Seven. Can I get a case number? Copy. Thank you. >> While officers were speaking with the employee, one of the female suspects returned to the store. Had she been left behind after the others fled, or was she truly innocent? Her unexpected appearance caught the employee off guard. >> Who? >> Where you been there? >> Yeah, pinky jacket. Definitely. >> All right. You stay right here. Move over. Police are being recorded on body cam right now. You're being detained. >> Where your friends at? Call them over here. >> I don't care if you have anything right now. Call your friends. >> All right. Don't move. [music] >> Seven. They got one detained in Mark Jacobs. They got one of the actors too is still outstanding. >> Where they at? >> They left. >> Okay. >> I came back. >> All right. >> All right. Hold on. Hold on. >> Yeah. Before you continue. >> Hold on. Hold on. Don't worry about it. >> Hey, sir. Excuse me. >> Spoke to me. I was the only one that didn't run out of this store. >> Remember, being with other suspects while they commit a crime doesn't automatically make you innocent. And while she continued to deny any wrongdoing, the employee had a very different account of what happened. >> You know what she took? Um she was [music] >> she had her hand on this. She put it in the bag as I was working. >> So she she concealed it >> and then back. >> She put it back. >> Yeah. And then after >> And then after her friends as her friends were walking now they do a bad one. And did she did you see her physically conceal? >> She had something on her back. put it down when you still [ __ ] >> Okay. All right. So, here's what we're going to do. Uh, if you guys can do that statement as soon as possible, I'm just going to take her into custody and we'll go we'll go from there. >> All right. Then, turn around, put your hands behind your back. All right, listen. >> Right now, >> I'm arresting you based on their statement. If the camera footage, >> if the camera footage says something else, >> they're not going to get it right now, and I'm not going to have you standing here. >> She was then escorted outside. Although she had denied taking anything, she later admitted that she had considered doing so. >> Uh, can you grab my stuff from in there and sit on them until I get the statement? >> All right. So, listen, >> I'm working out. >> Well, like I said, I'm working off their statement. So, if the camera footage shows otherwise, this will be very easy for you to go to the judge. They'll look at it and they'd be out. >> You're not going to be confined, you're just you're going to hang out with me for maybe an hour or two. I did think about it like when you stood in front of I put it down. >> Okay. >> I could have ran. >> That's true. >> I put it down and I walk. >> We're going to go back here. I don't want to hear my friends gone. >> All right. Well, listen. These things happen. Like I said, if you're if you didn't take anything, then you'll be good. >> [music] >> Right now, this is just you're going to be put on a summon and then you get your your chance in court. You're not going to confinement or anything like that. >> The woman was charged with shoplifting. The lesson is that considering a crime and acting on it are two different things, but even an admission of intent can raise questions. Honesty and cooperation are far better than denying everything when the evidence tells a different story. Next, a group of shoplifterss thought they had gotten away with stealing for the second time in just one week. >> Okay. At the Walmart, your vehicle, everything match your description. So that's why until we disprove. >> This is crazy. My cart is right over there. I was shopping and he called me and say he's getting pulled. On the 23rd of January, 2025, Walmart discovered a white man named Alan Linkhorn concealing large quantities of meat and other merchandise in bags to steal them before quickly leaving for a car with a driver waiting for him. But they didn't get far before being pulled over. >> Give me a second, boss. Get out of the vehicle. Okay. Romeo Bravo probably. How you doing? Good. You know why I'm here? Stand by from you. Okay. Is there anybody in the back? Is there anybody back here? Could you put your window down for me? All your windows down. How you doing? Oh. Oh. I thought it was him. Put your hands behind your head. >> You got anything? >> Hold it up. Okay. Till we figure out what's going on right now, I'm going to detain you for your safety and my safety. You understand? So, put your hands behind your back. >> Black male, white male. >> I left the cart inside. He stopped me. I had I had a cart. You had a cart? >> Yeah, I had a cart and I left it inside. >> Well, we're going to We'll figure it out. If If we committed no crime or anything, we couldn't go. Okay. >> Just got to figure it out because when we get called we get dispatched for this type of calls, we just got to go by what we have. So far, >> well, I'm being honest with you. Okay. All right. >> Hey, we got somebody still going up there to confirm everything. >> This lady that's walking up now. Do you know her? You guys know her? >> That's my girlfriend. >> That's your girlfriend? All right. Just tell her to stay over there. Stay over there for me, ma'am. Stay over there for me. >> Okay. Well, you can't see him, but you can stay back there. >> While two suspects were handcuffed, two women were still left behind. Why did the two women show up near the scene? Many questions are being raised and this could point to an organized retail theft operation. Let's see how the others react. >> Explain the reason why we're here. >> We're here because we got a report of a theft. >> Okay. At the Walmart, your vehicle, everything match your description. So that's why until we disprove. If everything's cool, then we're done. >> But we we have a job to do. Okay. >> Yeah. Yeah. We're going to treat you cool. You've been acting cool. It's just it's just part of our job. Okay. Gave my friend a ride and that's it. >> Your ID's in here? >> Yes, sir. >> How did you How did you guys get here? >> Nothing. I didn't do anything. I >> I'm just going to see what's going on with my boyfriend. We got >> We left the car >> to come out here. >> Okay. What's your last name now? >> H >> What's your last name? >> What What am I being questioned for? >> Oh, you want to come out here and >> Well, I'm being >> Well, you're saying you're with them. They're being detained. I don't got nothing to do with >> shopping in there. >> What did they do, sir? >> I don't know right now. >> They didn't do nothing. >> I just pulled up. Well, we're going to find that out. >> He was not even >> They were in there. He was waiting on me to grocery shop. I just had appointment up the up the street >> and I told him I need to stop and get groceries for my kids. >> Can we move her car? >> No, they're staying right there. >> You guys You ladies need to stay right where you're at. You can't go any closer to the scene. Okay. >> No, we don't want to go. Well, I don't get I just need to make sure my boyfriend not being detained. He didn't even go to the >> So name's Henry Goldburn O'Neal. >> Goldber Henry. They they always >> It's hyphenated. >> Yeah. >> Oh, I'm sorry. Your last name's Henry. >> Yes, sir. First name Goldburn. >> First name is Goldburn. O'Neal Henry. >> O'Neal is the middle name. Henry is the last name. >> Okay, understood. Cool. >> Yeah, they always say I got her last name for her first name. Her first name, her last name for first name. The two women were quickly identified as Melissa Mecclas and Coralia Telis. They were using a separate car parked in the same Walmart parking lot. Could this really be a coincidence? Store employees soon began providing their accounts of what happened. >> So he tried to push it out. He left in the messenger. Somebody else tried to take him. >> Yeah, I was following him outside. >> The females I seen them I could Yeah, I I'll be able to >> If you saw them, you'll be able to know if they were the ones that pushed them off >> or I could run a video. Yeah, the video worked out for sure. >> I got rid of video. >> Okay, cool. >> So, I just Do they have anything in the backpack or >> Oh, we we didn't get that for you. >> Okay. >> So, >> cuz I want to do the >> cuz if they're all if they're all tied together, they're all going to take So, that's why get the receipt >> and then I just need the video. >> Yeah. No, I'm trying to get the video real quick. So, um So, here's so here's the thing. The females were in here with them. They all split up. They're in the lookout. And then your guy, you pushed it out and left the cart in between the nest here. And then one of the females just try to push it out also. So he left with the backpack. That's what That's what I'm trying to get on video. That's why I was going to have make sure they don't leave. You don't have to put the custo, but just make sure they don't leave. They can't leave yet. Additionally, based on information provided by the suspects themselves, police discovered another theft case involving all four of them just a week earlier. This quickly prompted officers to take further action. >> Check you before you turn around and check. Make sure you're all right. Take your hands out of your pockets, please. >> Why you detained? >> Why? What can I do? What can I do? You want to pull this back? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Why am I being detained? >> Just hold on. Hold on. Pull that. >> Do nothing. Just get this secure. Just get this secure. >> Why are you detaining me? >> Primary deputy's going to talk. Okay. What's in the What's in the rag? What is that? Drop. >> Oh, it's number go back in the store. >> She's back in there. >> Why am I being detained? >> The primary investigator is going to come and talk to you. >> Am I I'm not going to jail. I didn't do nothing. >> One thing at a time. >> I bought grocery shopping with her. >> Okay. One thing at a time. Let me get this stuff locked. >> Can I hit my vape one more time? >> No. No. >> What else you got? >> Nothing. Can you put it back in my pocket though? >> No. It's not going to be on you. >> Why? I'm not going to jail. >> One thing at a time. An officer proceeded to search the vehicle and evidence quickly began to emerge as soon as he opened the door. And if you're wondering where the other woman went, she had no shame in returning to the store to shop. Was she trying to prove that she could afford to pay? That wouldn't change anything. How you doing? How you doing? So, you are going to come to me. >> Me? >> Yeah. >> Why is that? >> We'll explain later. >> I don't know what the told y'all, but my cart over there, I was shopping and my man called and said he was getting pulled and I left everything. >> You got the lid for this? >> It's in the bag. >> You can put the bag down. >> Yeah. Like what the hell? >> Is this really necessary? >> Y'all really think if I would have did anything I come back in this store? Like y'all serious right now? Cuz this is crazy. This is crazy. My cart is right over there. I was shopping and he called me and say he's getting pulled and I left my stuff. And while he's getting detained over there, I came and grabbed me something to eat. I'm calling my lawyer. >> We'll we'll talk outside. All right. >> No, cuz this is embarrassing. It's embarrassing. >> Uh yeah, I'm good. >> This is embarrassing. >> I'm walking. >> Yeah, my uh my >> He's going to come back and explain everything yourself. Good news. >> Okay, here >> you can loosen these a little bit. They don't know. >> Alan Linkor, Goldburn Henry, Melissa Mecclas, and Corali Adalus were charged with coordinated retail theft, communications fraud, and petty theft aggravated by prior convictions. The lesson is that when people work together to commit theft, their actions can expose the entire group to serious legal consequences. Claiming innocence or returning to the store to shop does not automatically erase the evidence. Next, we have a woman who acts like she owns the store and has the authority to run the place herself. >> So, what I told them is I'm not dealing with it. There's evidence that you're not allowed to have that over here. Keep on getting them cuffs off me. There's a guancy body. [screaming] I'mma show you the rest. On the 5th of May 2023, a woman caused Walgreens employees to call officers to the scene due to her strange behavior and threats against multiple people at the store. What made the situation even more confusing was the way she spoke when officers approached her. >> Hey, I'm standing in process. >> Come here. Come here. >> Come talk to us. >> I certainly will. So, these people were told not to go in Walgreens, right? I have a home. I have business. Okay. They stole my wallet. The wallet's been retrieved. I'm not dealing with that. But these people were told not to go in here and act like they're working. They're not allowed over here. I went in there to see what's going on and they're telling me, "You can't come here. You got to go." I said, "You don't need to be in uniform. Y'all don't need to mess with pharmacy. You don't need to do those things." And he's like, "Well, I'm calling the police. You need to leave." I said, "I told you to leave. You don't need to be here." And they're saying, "Well, I you're leaving." I said, "I have a restraining order. I have a restraining order in process. I'm telling you to leave for a party. Those people are not allowed in there." And those people are coming to handle that situation. I'm not dealing with that anymore. >> All right, slow down. >> So, what I told them is I'm not dealing with it. There's evidence that you're not allowed to have that over here. I'm not dealing with that. You don't need to tell me what I need to do about >> Wait, is she the owner of Walgreens or something? How does she have the authority to decide who can enter the store? What she says next only gets more confusing. >> I have a restraining order >> on who? >> On a party. What do you mean? >> The one that's going in there trying to pharmaceutical things. >> Okay. So, you have a restraining order on somebody in the farms. >> Correct. >> What rights do you have to that business? >> So, I run Walgreens. It's own private area. >> Okay. So, you're the manager of Walgreens. >> I don't do management. It's not for those purposes. >> Okay. >> I don't think the situation is >> she refuses to accept the situation and perhaps she doesn't even want to understand what's happening. Her behavior after being handcuffed only raises further concerns about her state of mind. >> There's your forgery. >> If you can't afford an attorney, one will be >> I'm tired of you all assaulting me. >> One will be presented to your >> You don't need to manhandle me. You're >> get hit by the car. >> One will be provided to you at no cost. You understand each of these rides? I've explained them to you. >> What car house? >> Okay, we're not doing this. >> Really? Don't go mess with it. Leave it alone. >> You're not allowed to use that. That's 43. >> No. >> What kind of weapons you got in there, sir? >> A whole lot of stuff. >> Oh, you do? >> I do. >> Put a tip on that. >> 32 to 34. >> You're not allowed to hold a weapon. You're >> Oh, >> you got timeless charges. >> Hey, I appreciate you. >> I don't appreciate you. I'm a manhandle your >> Whoa. >> I'm not playing. You don't put your hands on me. >> Oh, you're breaking. >> I'm not playing. >> Well, please calm down. There's no need to Dude, no need to get all >> thief. >> No need to get all aggro. >> They're not getting out of it. You going >> a little bit of that, dude. >> I'm not going to ask you any more questions. >> I told you. >> Uh >> Oh, I'm not going to You're not going to tell me you're not going to ask me any more questions. You First of all, you have a woman in handcuffs. >> Yeah. >> And she's a mother. >> Okay. >> I'm at respect. You're at disrespect. I'm at relative. I don't know who you are. >> Okay. You're going to listen to me now. >> I'm not listening to you. You just talk. You want >> disatch? You're being arrested for obstruction of a law enforcement officer. Okay. >> There was no chaos or physical fighting. Yet, she was still charged with obstruction for refusing to comply with the officer's requests. And her shameless behavior continued even after that. >> Can you just get in the car, please? >> No, I'm not just going to get in the car until >> I'm not just going to >> a female comes to search it. >> Regardless of the fingerprint scanner, could you have a female come to my location, please? Your weapons don't even >> Okay. >> So, why are you You think it's funny to do that? >> I mean, what what's your genetic? I have a biological genetic restraint in order. >> I don't even know what a biological genetic >> and the the cemetery people Yeah. aren't allowed around me. So, what are they doing? >> I have no idea. >> I don't even know. You You like trying to pretend like you're somebody and you're nobody, sir. Do you need help? You need help? >> Being that I'm here with you right now, I need a whole lot of help to be honest. >> I think I'm going to whip you. I'm not. Wo. I seriously mean that. You You stepping over the wrong thing. You in private area. Was the courthouse removed from private area? And what are these police? What are they doing? >> She and I are going to take a walk down to this other patrol car. >> I'm not walking anywhere. >> You are? >> No, I'm not. >> Uh, uh, you're going to go over there and inspect that car for damage and talk to the gentleman that we spoke to. >> All right. Come on. >> No, I'm not. >> Come on. >> All right. Come on. >> Come on. >> No, I'm not. Hey, >> what's that supposed to do? >> Thank you. >> I told you he was. >> It's a pepper spray you if you continue not compliment. >> It ain't pepper spray. >> You're making false equipment on people. >> So, stop. Yeah. >> Thank you. No, thank you. I ain't done. No, I'm done with that. >> I refuse to go anywhere. I don't feel like walking around. Y'all know y'all feel like doing with it. >> I mean, what is this? Joy. >> What? I don't know what that is either. They don't want to pay for the electricity, so they put on fake equipment and try to assault me. You walk here, you got bruises. >> I'm not paying for everyone anymore. They can get all this stuff off. >> How embarrassing. Some people might think that way about this woman, but there's no need to worry about her. She seems to be having a good time making a scene out of her own situation. >> Man, he's a keep on getting them cuffs off me. THERE'S YOUR GUILTY BODY. [screaming] I'mma say the >> red. >> Was there any damage that silver? >> Yes, but I'm not sure if it's already there or he's double checking with the folks inside. >> All right. Y'all want to stand by with her for a second while I go over there with him? >> It's so hot. >> They over here playing around TALKING ABOUT YOU CAN'T GET MEDICINE. YES, they are. You can't get medicine. that >> y'all going after a victim and being a perpetrating party. You know that going to be on you. You don't need to know. >> An officer then went inside the store to speak with the employee who revealed the real reason the police had been called. >> And I guess multiple times, but today she came in and she threatened to jack my body up. She threatened to shoot everybody and said this was her store and it's hers. >> I tried to tell her she can't shop here without shoes on like I did yesterday. >> Okay. But she's comes back and she gets loud and she threatens us and says that she's going to hurt everybody. So I was like today I told her I said you can leave or I can call the police. She said call the police. >> Okay. That's what I did. That's what you did. Um so she said specifically that she was going to everybody. >> She said she blow everybody up and she said she was going to jack my body up and it was going to find me laying somewhere. >> Jack your body up and find you laying somewhere. Okay. >> That's kind of why he was like, "Okay, let's see." But she did beat on that hood of that car. That silver car. That car right there. She she beat on that one like boom boom boom and I didn't go over there and see but there's nobody in here so I'm thinking somebody that works over there. >> Um so it was on the hood is where she was. I I tried to check. I couldn't tell if she hit >> I mean cuz there was already some damage to the vehicle. I didn't I mean >> I mean but I don't know if she did any damage. I just want to make sure I let you know. >> Right. I appreciate that. >> So she essentially just kind of came in [music] made some verbal threats. >> Mhm. >> She did the same thing yesterday but I wasn't going to call the police but she said call the police. So I Okay. Yeah, >> I've seen her around before. Um, >> she's got some other issues going on. >> I know. I know. >> In the end, the woman was charged with obstruction of a law enforcement officer and felony terroristic threats. Refusing to cooperate with law enforcement can turn a difficult situation into a more serious legal problem. Making threats and continuing to resist instructions only adds to the consequences you may face. Even more ironically, in the next case, don't touch my stuff, comes from a shoplifter herself. You >> stop touching my stuff. He No, he No, no, no. I understand. >> Why [clears throat] should >> Stop touching my stuff. >> I understand that. >> On the 28th of October, 2024, a woman was suspected of shoplifting at a store, prompting officers to escort her to the loss prevention office. However, she did not make things easy, and the situation quickly escalated inside the office. What the? >> Sit down. We're going to get We're GOING TO GET >> WE'RE GOING TO TALK. You >> sit down. You >> sit down. >> It's funny. >> He's antagonizing me. LOOK. >> STOP IT. JUST SIT up for I will talk to HIM IN A SECOND. >> I WILL TALK TO HIM IN A SECOND. Can you Can you stop? >> Stop touching my stuff. He No, he's not. >> Can you stand for a second? >> But he No, >> I can't talk to you when you're WHEN YOU'RE LIKE THIS. >> THAT'S FUNNY. HE IS THE DEVIL. I REBUKE YOU. >> Can you sit down? >> Sit down. >> Honey, honey, it's okay. I swear. >> Sit down for a second, please. So I can talk to you. >> No, I don't feel comfortable. He did not make me feel comfortable. I gave me I gave him something. He did not make me feel comfortable. I don't want to sit down. Okay. >> I don't want to sit down. >> You didn't take a breather. >> He thought that was funny. He I swear to God, he did that on purpose. >> Okay. [snorts] Where's your baby? >> He thought that was funny. >> Is your baby here? >> He thought that was funny. >> What's your What's your name, hun? >> I don't understand. He got his stuff. >> Why is this going any further? >> You want to take it? >> No, I'm taking it. >> Why is this going any further? I don't get it. >> Hold on. Hold on. Just Is your child here? >> She have her. >> Who had her? >> I don't understand. I want to see what >> her friend should be outside with her baby and then her baby girl. >> Okay. So, they're well taken care of, right? >> Can I get you though? >> Yeah. Now then after the man was just pushing me in my back like this dude was just pushing me like dude I understand but all that all that extra >> now now he's not here. Where is he? Well now he's not here. Oh now he now he left >> now he left. Like that's weird. That's weird. >> Do you have an ID on you? >> I don't have nothing on you, bro. I This is like a >> So listen to we were called down here. I'm going to need an ID from you just because I need to figure out who I'm speaking to and I don't want just your name. I want an actual ID. >> After things calmed down a little, the officers began investigating based on the employees statement, making the evidence against her even clearer. >> Do you guys want to try to tell what happened? >> Yes, I was on camera. James was on the floor. I saw her in our first level kids department. >> So, selected four items. Uh, two little girl sets, >> jacket, and slippers. >> So, then two little girls, a jacket, and then you said slippers. >> Yes. And she put them at the bottom of her stroller. the bottom >> bottom of the shoulder. >> Yes. >> Okay. [snorts] >> All righty. >> Was waiting for her friend and made a purchase. Um ended up putting her own purse at the bottom of the stroller in front of the items. >> The the yellow purse, the MCM. >> Yes. >> Okay. And then uh she put the purse kind of hiding covering the items, right? >> Okay. Uh, she passed all last points of purchase, exited onto the lower level mall and then um, >> hold on. We'll get an opportunity to speak. I just want to figure out that it's everything. Okay. Lower level mall and then uh 196 180. >> Oh, sorry. 180. Okay. Before I see that. Okay. Okay. >> After things calmed down a little, the officers began investigating based on the employees statement, making the evidence against her even clearer. >> Let me ask one question though. Why? What was the whole like, oh, come in here and then, oh, we're just going to get the stuff and the police not going to get called. Then he pushed me all in here and now somehow we're like, I don't understand what was. >> So, we'll talk about that right now. >> Like a part of your guys's thing or something. >> All righty. So, we're going to talk about that right now. Just hold off. All right. So before I ask you any questions, it is my duty to advise you your constitutional rights. Okay. Do you do you understand these constitutional rights? I have advised you of all of them. >> Yeah. >> Okay. All right. I just want to make sure you're understanding. Okay. So at this point in time, it's just an investigation. I'm just trying to figure out what happened. Okay. Um >> I'm just trying to figure out my jail. >> Well, I'm literally just trying to figure out what happened. Okay. >> Part of the investigation. >> And then you are being recorded by this time. So you don't even have to record for your >> Well, cuz I don't know. That was weird what that dude just did. >> Can you also tell them how he was acting too? Can that be a part of her? >> No. Why does it have to be a part of what you're saying? >> Why can't she tell you what he did when like Why can't she tell you that either? But she could tell you that. But she can't tell you what her friend did either. I don't get that. >> She'll she'll ask him later. What's If what she going to ask later about that, >> correct? If we're >> right now, we're trying to talk to you and figure out what happened. >> Okay. So, you just got what happened and now I'm telling you um the man was pushing me in agree with everything she's saying though. >> I'm not agreeing with nothing. >> Okay. So, then what what is your version of the story? >> I don't have version of nothing. I don't have nothing to say besides that man should have never put his hands on me and that's it. That's all. I don't have nothing to say besides that man was putting his hands on me, antagonizing me. Okay, whatever. Whatever. But all of that putting his hands on me. Oh, you and your daughter can go to the jail. All of that. That's That's what I'm saying. That's That's all I'm really talking about. >> She kept trying to divert the investigation by accusing the male security officer who had escorted her earlier. She seemed determined to shift the focus away from the allegations and even getting her to explain why she stole the items required the officer to persuade her to speak. >> I say like I'm not saying anything. I just >> Okay. Is did you come in here with money or >> You were just saying that you were paying for the >> Yeah, I can't I can't pay for that. >> Okay. You were paying for the items. Is there a reason why you were trying to take the items and put them in the bottom of your shoulder? >> Like, is there a reason why you were going to steal the items if you can pay for them? >> Uh, I don't know. >> You had a MCM bag, girl. That shit's expensive. So, I'm just trying to figure out why you took the items. You said you got money and then you had the items underneath the stroller. >> Okay. Um, what am I supposed to say? >> I'm I'm literally asking. I'm just Be honest. >> I don't know. >> Are you low on money? I mean, are you looking for Christmas presents? >> Well, cuz they're all little girls things. So, we're just curious as to like if you don't have money for the girls things. >> Honesty is the best answer here. Please >> I understand you're upset, but I just kind of want to figure out what happened. Okay, that's kind of what we're here for. Be honest with us. Tell us what you got to tell us. If you can't afford to pay for the items for this little girl, that's just be straight up. >> So, the way I see it is there's there's different kinds of people, right? There's people who steal because they want, you know, the greed. They're selfish. And then there's people who steal because they can't afford it, right? Maybe they they're missing a paycheck. They didn't get the money that they were expecting this month. So then they they saw a temptation and then they just kind of thought they could take it. It was essentially a mistake. Or are you the type of person who are going after this stuff cuz you're a selfish greedy person? >> So that's why I want to hear it from you. What is your reason why we did why are we doing this? >> Under the officer's pressure, she finally began to admit what she had done. But the reason behind her actions was what made this case worth discussing. >> Yep. I made a mistake. Uh my daughter birthday. That that's it. >> Your birthday? >> No, my daughter birthday. >> Daughter birthday, right? >> When was your birthday? >> Um on 25th. >> This this last next month. >> Yeah. Like like a few days ago. >> So Okay. So 3 days ago. >> Yeah. >> How old is she? >> Two. >> Two. Okay. So you just >> that makes sense. >> And that's why I'm assuming they're all kids stuff, right? >> Yes. All for her. >> All kids stuff, right? >> Can you tell me some details as far as how you did it? >> I I just want to hear it from you especially if you >> I I don't know. >> You don't want to have the details? >> So you have a warrant for your arrest regardless. Okay. >> Yeah. I'm not sure what it's for. Okay. So we're just going to have to take you back to the station, figure out if we can release you. Hopefully it should not take too long. Um, I'm pretty sure most of the ones that we've been dealing with they are. Um, so we have to figure that out and then we'll figure out what for today. Okay. >> Have you been arrested before? >> Mhm. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Did you miss a court date or something? >> Yeah, I think our judge probably did. >> That could be. >> If you think she was finally becoming more cooperative than before, don't be too quick to judge because things escalated again when she tried to make a phone call without permission. or not. >> You don't have to touch my phone. >> I'm not going to. Okay. >> A miss to see a tripping. You don't have to touch my phone. >> All right. So, at this point in time, we're just going to take care of her. Give her a call. Give her a call so you can so you can have your kids. >> They knocking on the Why y'all not telling them that? Why you >> Do you want me to tell them? >> Obviously. Okay, I'll tell them. >> Do you guys want Obviously. >> Okay, then I'll tell them. Okay. All right. Do me a favor. >> Stop touching my stuff. >> Okay. Do me a favor. Why she >> stop touching my stuffing? >> I understand that, but why IS YOU ISABELLA? HEY, >> ISABELLA. HEY, [screaming] ISABELLA. >> ISABELLA, >> STOP. >> Why are you holding on to >> Why are you holding on to me like this? Why you going to break MY WHY ARE YOU HOLDING ON TO ME LIKE THAT? WHY are you holding on to ME LIKE THAT? WHY YOU HOLDING ON to me like that? Why you holding on to me like that? Why is you holding on to me like that? >> All right, perfect. >> Okay, stop. >> AND STOP RESISTING. I'M NOT >> STAY DOWN. >> STAY DOWN. >> OKAY, [screaming] STOP. >> STOP. >> YOU'RE FINE. >> OKAY, >> YOU'RE FINE. STOP. >> THAT'S CUZ YOUR ASS WRESTLING ME. I CAN JUST BE NORMAL AND I'M NOT CALL UP. YOU CALL UP. YOU [ __ ] I do. >> You're under arrest right now. >> Stay like that. >> Ain't nobody trying to do to you little ass girl cuz you got that. I'm not trying to do to you. What you Why do you >> She's tightening the lock. SHE'S TIGHTENING IT UP. STOP. STOP. SHE'S LOCKING. [screaming] I'VE BEEN IN JAIL BEFORE I DO ANYTHING TO LET ME GET THE UP. YOU GOT ME FEELING some type of way. Let me get the up. YOU GOT ME UP. >> SHE WAS booked on an outstanding warrant and additionally charged with theft and resisting arrest. Cooperation can make a difficult situation easier, but resisting officers only adds to the consequences. Making excuses or shifting blame won't change the evidence against you. >> Stop me. I'm pregnant. Stop. Yeah, you're hurting me. YOU'RE HURTING ME. STOP. >> YOU GOT TO STOP. OKAY. >> STOP BANGING YOUR HEAD. >> NO. >> On the 18th of July 2023, police officers were dispatched to a Target store after receiving reports of a theft. The suspect was reportedly a woman who had pushed a cart full of merchandise out of the store without paying, unaware that the entire incident had been captured on camera. >> That wasn't her, was it? >> Uh, it's equal back. It's like 1:23. >> Yeah. Yeah. A call came in. Uh >> she had a ton of soft lines. I don't I couldn't even tell you what was in there. >> I bookmarked her cuz I was dealing with the other this person. >> Yeah, that's going to be cuz I see the green pants. >> I was dealing with >> Okay. >> Don't know her name, but you'll probably recognize her. >> What's she wearing? >> I can give you an ID for her. passing the lanes right now. She has a blue shirt on. >> Okay. >> Is that the lane you was in earlier? That same blue shirt. >> She's coming up towards the bathroom. [laughter] Yeah. >> Do you have an item? >> Mhm. She just came in or somebody called me. into a shirt, came in, grabbed the cart, >> and then said to Karen, "Oh, I forgot my she went out the front door." >> And she's back in. >> That's the same one that had the bicycle in the store earlier. >> There she is. She got a book bag now that she did not come in. >> No. Now she's looking for Levis's. They're gone. Now she's wearing a backpack and two shoulders. Here she's leaving. >> Not once, but twice. She really seemed to treat the store like her own personal storage room. Yet, when officers approached her, she reacted in a way that was hard to understand, causing the situation to descend into chaos. >> Turn around. Drop the backpack. >> Okay. Turn around. Okay. Okay. >> Turn around. Turn around. Turn around. >> Stop moving. >> Stop moving. Stop moving. >> Stop moving. >> Stop moving. >> Okay. Can you guys not arrest me, please? Can you not arrest me? Please not arrest me. I'M PREGNANT. STOP MOVING. YOU'RE HURTING ME. YOU'RE HURTING ME. STOP. >> STOP. >> YOU'RE HURTING ME. PLEASE. >> I'll never come back. >> Give me your other arm. Give me the other arm. >> YOU'RE PREGNANT. I'M PREGNANT. I'm pregnant. Can you stop? >> Stop. >> Stop. WHAT ARE YOU DOING? STOP. >> JASMINE, STOP. >> OKAY. >> STOP. Jasmine hurting me. Can you stop? Are you taking me to jail? >> Stop. >> Okay. Are you taking me to jail, >> sir? Are you taking me to jail? Sir, are you taking me to jail? Sir, >> Juju, son, show me what the 1041 detained. >> Okay. Are you taking me to jail, sir? Are you taking me to jail? That's all I want to know. I want to start, sir. >> Cross your legs. Cross your legs. Stand up. Stand up. >> Stand up. Oh god, you're hurting me, sir. >> Stand up. Stay right there. Stay right there. Stop moving. Stop. >> Stop moving. >> You're hurting. >> Stop moving. I'm going to tell you right now. Stop. >> Okay. >> Are you arresting me? >> I'm at the front entrance of Target. >> So, are you arresting? >> You're being detained at the moment. Jasmine, >> can I sit down? >> Front entrance of Target. This woman was acting like a child. She kept pretending to be remorseful, but in reality, she was constantly looking for ways to escape the consequences, shamelessly begging officers to let her go. >> I went to jail, sir. That's all I want to know. >> You're just being detained at the moment. >> Can I sit down? >> Please don't take me to jail, sir. Please. Sir, can you not take me to jail? >> Stop moving. >> Can you not take me to jail, >> Jasmine? >> I don't want to go to jail, sir. Please. Stop gripping my fingers. Stop gripping my fingers. >> Can you not take me to jail, please, sir? >> Sir, can you Am I going to jail? That's all that I want to know. Am I going to jail? >> Where's the backpack? >> Okay. >> Am I going to jail? Am I going to jail? Sir, please. I want to go to jail. >> Am I going to jail? I'm asking you. That's all I want to know. >> Give me a minute. We're going to figure it out. Okay. >> You want to sit down? >> Sit down. >> Okay. Cross your legs. >> Okay. >> Stop. Don't move from there. Jasmine, >> can you not take me to jail, please? >> Tell me your last name, Jasine. >> Okay. I'm going to tell you something right now. Okay. I'm going to read you something. Okay. These are your keys. Are they? >> No. Um I'm holding on. I'm holding on to >> Okay. Okay. So, but these were with you. Okay. Yes. >> Okay. I just want to know. >> Okay. Can you come take me to jail? At this point, backup officers had arrived at the scene to help take the woman into custody, but that was exactly what she wanted to avoid. And once again, chaos erupted. >> She's moving around, dude. >> Calm down. >> Can I go? >> Stand up. >> I don't want to go down. >> You're hurting me. Please stop. >> Stop. You're hurting me. You're hurting me. >> Let's go. You got to walk. Please, >> please. No, >> you're going to get a resisting charge if you don't walk. >> Please, I don't want to go to jail. Please, I don't want to go to jail. >> Jasmine, >> I don't want to go to jail. Please, please, please, I don't want to go to jail. SO, [crying] PLEASE, I won't come back. I won't come back, sir. I won't go back. I get in the car. I'm breaking. Get in the car for acting right. >> Get in the car right >> Get in the car. >> Get in the car. >> Please. >> I swear I'm going to kill myself. I'm going to I swear to God. >> We need to stop. >> I don't want to go to jail. >> You shouldn't go. You shouldn't have shoplifted. >> Please. I'm supposed to go to rehab tomorrow. Please. >> There was no peace inside the patrol car either. The situation continued to escalate as she engaged in multiple acts of self harm. >> Somebody swear to God. >> You got to stop. Okay. >> Stop banging your head. >> No. >> I'm going to >> stop. >> I'm going to I swear to God. Please >> listen. Why can't we talk? >> What's your name? >> Huh? You won't even talk to me, but you want me to release you. >> Please, I want to go to detox. Can you please release me? >> You got to talk to me. Calm down. What's your name? >> Jasmine. >> Jasmine, what? >> Please release me, sir. I want to go to detox. Please. >> Okay. Well, hold on. >> Oh, please. >> Calm down. What happened here today at Target? >> I would shop cuz I have an addict. I'm so stupid. >> Hey, but what were you stealing? >> Um, clothes so I could get something to eat and to make sure I was well, sir. Please, can you just take me a detox? >> Hold on. Listen. >> I don't want to go to jail. >> I need you to take a deep breath. >> Please. >> Listen to me. >> Okay, >> listen to me. >> I genuinely believe she may be struggling with addiction, especially given how she repeatedly loses control of her emotions. As a result, even the officer's procedures become much more difficult to carry out. >> I don't want to disappoint my mom no more, sir. Please. Okay, sit back for me. Okay, >> please. >> It's okay. Just hang out with me. Okay, I'm going to give you a couple scenarios, okay? A misdemeanor shoplifting, right? You'll get out in [music] the morning. It's the week. It's the work week, right? Okay. But if you act up here and you get a felony, you won't be out until they hold until pre-trial. Okay? >> So, am I going to jail? Just not. >> And there's two options here. One, you could get released after you you're medically cleared. Two, you can go to jail. Okay? And there's another option with that jail is you can go to jail just for this misdemeanor. >> Okay? Or you can go to jail for a couple felonies, which I I wouldn't suggest, right? >> Hold on. Hold on. Listen, if he chooses to take you to jail, the faster we can get you there, the faster they can release you. >> They won't release me until the night >> the night time. >> Yeah, please. I see that. >> Tomorrow's Wednesday. >> At my point, I'm going to jail. >> In the end, Jasmine was charged with shoplifting. Shoplifting may seem like a minor offense, but resisting officers and engaging in dangerous behavior during an arrest can make an already difficult situation much worse. Cooperating with law enforcement and seeking appropriate help is a far better choice than allowing panic and impulsive actions to create additional legal consequences. >> You ran my shirt, bro. >> I SWEAR TO GOD. >> NO. LEAVE ME ALONE. NO. >> I'm suing. I want everybody back. [ __ ] my child. On June 1st, 2024, police received a call from Walmart reporting two women who showed unclear, suspicious behavior while purchasing items. When officers arrived, everyone had already been brought into loss prevention. And the women were trying to offer a chaotic mix of excuses. >> We're all together. All lessons at the register together. Yes, we were. >> All those are my kids. Those are minors. First of all, you don't have to talk to me like that. >> You really don't have to talk to me. >> Please. >> No. Get out. >> Go ahead and step out, sir. >> It's not a question. >> Well, I don't want him to step out. >> I didn't ask what you wanted. All right. Go ahead. Go ahead with it. >> I don't want him out there with that dude out there and nobody's out there cuz he's going to antagonize him and then if my husband hit him, y'all going to try to take my husband. Period. >> So, somebody need to stand out there. I'm sure. >> Okay. I can just grab cart so we can get this part started. >> Both women tried to use their families as shields, but the moment the unrelated people stepped outside, the officers moved in and chaos erupted instantly. >> You got your hands behind your back. >> Why are you trying to SHE MAN, what if you get off my MOTHER [laughter] BREAK? [screaming] >> STOP RESISTING. [screaming] >> BREAK MY ARM. >> You're okay. Stop resisting. Stop. Stop fighting. >> Let go my arm, bro. >> I'm [ __ ] >> I'ming right now. >> I'm definitely telling you what. >> What the hell? >> You want to be pranking me? >> What the Why ARE YOU YELLING? >> BECAUSE YOU CAN SIMPLY ASK ME. NO, AIN'T NO HATE. YOU CAN SIMPLY ASK ME TO DO SOMETHING. YOU AIN'T GOING TO SIT THERE AND TRY TO ME. >> STOP. Swear to God. You ripped my shirt, bro. You ripped MY SHIRT, [screaming] BRO. >> I SWEAR TO GOD. >> LISTEN TO ME. >> NO. LEAVE ME ALONE. NO. NO. I DON'T WANT TO LISTEN TO [ __ ] YOU HAD TO SAY. >> OKAY. >> CUZ YOU COULD LISTEN BEHIND MY BACK. I DON'T CARE. I DON'T CARE. YOU [screaming] DID NOT. I ASKED YOU WHY AND YOU COULDN'T TELL ME WHY. WHAT THE WRONG WITH YOU? >> YOU'RE UNDER ARREST. >> I DON'T CARE. I DON'T CARE, BRO. [screaming] I DON'T CARE. ME NEITHER. >> I DON'T CARE. >> THE woman already had no intention of cooperating. And that became clearer by the second, even to the point where she believed she was the one holding the power in that moment. >> Get out my face. >> I can talk if I want to. It's called freedom of speech. >> They say you don't want to. >> So like I said, freedom of speech. I said, I DON'T WANT TO TALK TO Y'ALL. >> THEN STOP. >> SO GET THE out my face. >> Point. Give me my other shoe now. GIVE ME MY OTHER SHOE NOW. >> GET ME MY OTHER SHOE NOW. MY OTHER [screaming] SHOE NOW. >> Get me my other shoe now. >> They ain't going to remember. >> No, they going they going to edit that out cuz Misha was just sitting there and that officer just lit at her and my baby just looked at her and she tried to snatch my baby phone and then just stab her around her arm like no. And if my baby got any injuries, I'm suing. >> Sir, can you get me my other shoe? I don't want to TALK TO HIM, TOO. I ONLY WANT TO TALK to you. >> The hell wrong with you? Like, get the out my face, both of y'all. I DON'T WANT TO TALK TO NEITHER ONE OF YOU. My child ain't even be never been in trouble. Like, what the [ __ ] out here? >> He ain't put [ __ ] You don't act like that with people. >> Everything grew worse because of the woman's actions. And even her mother outside stubbornly tried to blame the officers despite having witnessed everything herself. >> And cuz you just told me that it was she's going to jail >> for what? >> At this point, it's going to be resisting. >> HOW? THE LADY GRABBED her >> and she was trying to hand me her phone. >> Talk. You want to listen or >> No, I don't cuz y'all want to. >> Oh, I'm suing. I want everybody badge, [ __ ] My child can download. >> Okay. I just wrote a badge number and I need to know cuz y'all just basically just gave my challenge right here. >> What? >> Okay. You're free to go. >> NO, I'M NOT GOING down my ch. >> Yeah, you're you're going about to jail. >> No. >> Okay. >> There's plenty of room in the van. You can go too. I'm asking please. Nicely. >> Okay. Well, what about my refund? I just spent $300 in here. He's working on that. As soon as he get it, I'm free to go. >> I don't get too Don't look at me either. [snorts] >> You don't grab on people like that. I've been sitting here the whole time. >> Who are you talking to? >> You >> now shut the up. >> Don't respond to me. >> Okay. Wherever you want. >> Period. Clink blank. Stop talking. >> SORRY ABOUT THAT. >> STOP TALKING. STOP TALKING. STOP TALKING. POINT BLANK. STOP TALKING. >> I don't want to talk to you. >> STOP TALKING TO ME. >> STOP TALKING to me. >> Doing good. I got my string. I got need string after this. >> I'm probably going to need a new friend. >> Yeah, right. [laughter] >> Yep. You're going to be trespassed from me. You can't come back. >> Um, >> you're going to the refund. It's coming. It'll be here in a minute. >> Okay. >> And then that's it. Your daughter, I'm assuming, is going to go to jail for at least resisting and probably retail theft. >> Resisting though, man. Come on. Be real with me. >> So, normally we say, "Turn around, put your hands behind your back, and you do it." That's it. It stops there. >> She was sitting down. You saw her sitting down and I just came in there just went straight. >> And we said, "Put your hands behind your back." And she didn't do it. and she started fighting the officers. So now it's >> Why would you come? >> At that moment, an officer approached the store manager to confirm what had happened behind the scenes. And his answer also explained why the mother outside had acted so uncooperative. >> Who's who's who's suspected of stealing? >> Oh, the the the missing one then, right? >> The green shirt dress one who was out >> the green dress one. The one that got uh taken out. >> Yeah. >> Um and then the one that's inside company. >> So mama's stealing too. >> Yes. She was the one you >> She was the the one doing the scanning. >> Oh, okay. >> And she was holding her phone up and was videoing recording and the off the female officer grabbed her hand. This guy here and this lady, I need your badge number and your name. >> 600. Very good. 600. >> Okay. I need you to read it out. >> Master. >> Okay. What was the bad number? >> 600. >> 600. Okay. this officer here >> and his female partner >> waiting for while my child was sitting or something to come. >> He didn't even feale. >> So she initiated everything with grabbing my child by the arm and twisting her arm around. So who's not going to scream? >> The mother had no idea her own actions had already been exposed. She still tried to contact a lawyer while fabricating lies about what she had done. >> Take my baby to jail >> at the damn Walmart. >> Ma'am, >> I just told you I didn't have an ID. >> What's your first name? >> Lisha. I tried to give you all of this earlier. >> Can you spell it for me? >> Misha cuz she was sitting there. We was coming out and the doctor bitching man he just ran into us and talk instead of just saying >> please talk to me or whatever and then she was hold please >> I'm not here on the chair and the lady officer grabbed I'm conducting a theft investigation and you're the subject of it. >> If you don't ID then you go to jail for obstruction you don't have to go to jail for obstruction if I'm not >> you are the subject of a theft investigation. So, I just gave you my name. >> Your last name? >> L E S H. >> L A K E S H A. >> Yes. >> Do you want to talk to us? >> Stop talking to me. >> Okay. >> Get the out my face. >> Nobody really likes talking to me. >> I don't give to I don't want to talk to her. Get her out my face. I don't want to talk to her. She did ask me to put my hands behind my back or anything. You did tell me. You started pulling ON ME. GET OUT MY FACE. I DON'T WANT TO TALK TO YOU NOR THAT WENT OUT THE DOOR. GET OUT MY FACE. PERIOD. POINT BLAME. >> Then the officers confirmed the mother's name and discovered she had a prior arrest warrant related to a previous theft. And that alone was enough for them to decide on taking action. >> All right. And you're under arrest for retail theft. Go ahead and put your hands. >> When I'm under arrest, >> I just said retail theft. Well, mama for retail and the lady was standing right there. >> Wait, can you get this to my husband? >> On the right or the left? >> Okay, maybe you take two cuffs. >> We're going to put two cuffs on you now. >> Please. That hurts. >> But can I release? >> Uh, let me go check on his progress here. Yeah, >> wait. When you turn it, it is >> Well, we have to have your hands like that. Hold on. I'll loosen it and I'll put your hands together like you're praying back there. Okay. >> Like >> like Yep. >> Do you need her card to do the refund or how's that work? >> Refund's already done. >> I've already done. Okay, perfect. >> Uh, do we have a copy of that receipt? Cuz I know she's going to ask for one. She's already copy receipt for the refund. >> Yes. Thank you. >> You're welcome. Do >> you have anything on your person? >> What? >> Do you have anything in front of you? >> All right, ma'am. I'm going to give this to your husband. >> Uh, here's your refund receipt. Sorry. 1503440. And I think this one was 9 cents. >> Yeah. >> So, I'm going to give this to your husband. Okay. This is >> But is it going back on my cards? >> Your cards. All in your carts. So, >> same cards you purchased it. Both suspects were charged with pettit theft and the younger was also charged with resisting arrest. Even when trying to protect loved ones, refusing to cooperate with law enforcement can escalate the situation and lead to more severe consequences. Staying compliant is the safest way to handle legal trouble. >> I I brought the drinks out here in the bag of donuts and I one cup is gone out of here and one cup's gone out of Please. >> I understand that. Come on. Oh my god, babe. >> On the 30th of April 2024, police were dispatched to a Dollar General after receiving a report of a theft. The suspects were reportedly acting as a group and they were all members of the same family. To get a clearer picture of what happened, let's hear the employees account when officers arrived at the scene. >> They come in here all the time. All the time. >> 664. And I was like, hm. because she came to the back and started talking to me. I was like, hm. You know, she she made it look real obvious cuz she asked about a job. I was like, hm, okay. So then I went back there to watch my camera. You wouldn't even believe what all they took. >> Not that. They took two packs of Newport cigarettes, um, two drinks, two little drinks, a pack of donuts, and I don't know what all the kids took and like he went down the aisle. It didn't have the camera on it. >> Gotcha. >> I was like, getting stol. They was just unfortunately they got caught though. >> Good. You ready to let me know they got cameras? >> Do you have it on video? >> Okay. >> The employee then provided the officer with the camera footage along with more details about how the suspects appeared to know where the cameras were and tried to avoid being caught on them. I knew there was a camera there cuz I mean we barely went by it and I was like I mean >> Oh yeah. >> Right here. Well, not that one. >> Yeah. There's a camera right here on >> Yeah. >> this right here that actually Mhm. >> Yeah. Like you got to know I would have I believe I would have tried to avoid the camera as much as possible and especially clear day. >> Yeah. Right here. >> Like four of them on us. >> Yeah. >> I I would rather take a chance >> with getting something out there on the mailbox. >> No, just taking Oh, >> just remember people are dumber than they look. >> I know. >> And the bad part if if you can't buy it, you don't need it. >> Exactly. >> The bad part is >> use your restaurant. >> Mhm. >> Yes, ma'am. I went to the lab. I'mma leave everything. >> They're in awfully tough, which what really irked my suspicious was the fact that >> using the store surveillance footage, police were able to identify the suspect's license plate, which led them to a nearby home. They quickly went there to find the suspect. So, let's see how they reacted to the officer's unexpected arrival. >> So, what happened down there at Dollar General? >> At Dollar General? >> Dollar General. What all did you take from Dollar General? >> A drink. >> A drink and what else? >> Um, two drinks, actually. >> Two drinks. What all did you take? >> Two drinks. No. >> The woman eventually admitted to the theft, but instead of accepting the consequences, she brought out the stolen items and tried to find an absurd way to change the outcome. >> Here's the stuff. >> Who? >> I don't. >> Which one of your kids was with you down there? >> I didn't We didn't have anything, sir. You can have everything. I haven't opened these at all. >> Well, that's not the problem. Oh, watch out. She might jump on you. >> That's fair. >> She She don't bite, >> baby. >> No, she don't bite. I'm good. >> Please. >> The officer had to reassure her children as their mother began to panic, but she kept clinging to the situation, using her children to portray herself as a victim and continue begging for forgiveness. Please don't do this. My kids, please. >> You should You should No, no, no. You should have thought about that before you took your son down there with you. He didn't go. >> Then which kid went? >> No kids. Sorry. >> No kids went. So, >> what? >> No, I'm not. I'm on my knees begging him, please. >> All right. All right. I'm not going to sit here and try to go back and forth with you. >> Go ahead and hang up the phone or hand it to them. >> Can I please put some clothes on my body? >> You can go like that where they do not go. Do not go back. >> Get some shorts. Please let me put some shorts. >> You're buying different clothes anyway. >> My panties. No. Please don't. >> Come on. No, sir. >> No. >> No cigarettes. >> You want to see it? Here. Yeah. Here, I'll show you. I'll show all y'all. Don't worry. I took a video of it. That is him, right? >> He's saying you took some cigarettes. No one in this family appeared to be innocent, but at that moment, only the mother was old enough to be held responsible for her actions. Police then proceeded to place her under arrest. >> Hey, hey, hey, hey, look, look. Hey yo, a little bit. Please, come here. >> Would you let me pay for it? Please, sir, >> unless unless everybody have somewhere they can go. Terrorizing my kids. Please don't. Come on. >> Oh my god. Babe, >> I don't want to. Why? >> Listen, >> you think it's normal for a person to walk into a store. >> On the 9th of September, 2025, officers received a report from a Walgreens about a man allegedly stealing by concealing multiple items on his person. Here's what happened when the officers approached him. >> Hey, sir. How you doing, man? >> Hi. Talk to me for a second. >> Yes, sir. You got in your pants right now? >> Yeah, I'm paying for it all. >> You're paying for it all? >> I'm paying for everything. >> Is it in your pants right now? >> Yeah. >> Hey, Kyle. It's right here. >> I'm paying for everything. So, >> okay. >> All right. Do me a favor. Yes, sir. >> Just take it out of your pants. Okay. We'll do it for you. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> I'm paying I'm paying for everything. >> And I'm going to use your cart to pay for things. >> I know, but I couldn't put it in the car. I'm paying for every everything that I have plenty of cash. Do >> you have a key to open up cases? >> What's that? Where both your pockets, sir? You good with that? >> Are they in your pants or where they at? >> They're in my pants. >> I'll pay [snorts] for it was likely just an excuse he came up with after being caught. Showing no remorse, he continued pulling item after item from inside his pants. >> Yeah, I'm paying [clears throat] for everything. That's why. [snorts] >> Come on, man. You got >> I know, but I'm I'm paying for everything. >> Why would you put in your pants? >> No, we're not doing this. >> I'm paying for everything. >> So, concealment is an element of death. >> I'm not I'm not stealing it, though. That's what I'm trying to tell you. >> I have the cash for it. I wouldn't steal it. >> Do you think it's normal to have stuff all the way down your pant leg? >> But once I go to the register and I pull out I mean >> I mean that's not how that works for >> the right [snorts] >> I don't understand why I get in trouble for it. I'm paying for it. This is concealment, brother. >> But I'm paying for it. >> Concealing an item. >> That's not >> in your pants. >> It's an element of theft. >> How is that affect? I got I haven't even left the store. I'm paying for everything. I don't understand. >> Let's just drop Let's just take these out. >> Yeah, that's fine. I told you I came for every >> wasn't going to leave with it. >> I was leaving it. >> I'm not [snorts] pick [snorts] it up. >> Clearly, he was wearing two pairs of pants, making it easier to conceal the merchandise. This only further suggested that stealing was his original intention. Yet, he still desperately tried to convince the officers otherwise. >> Yeah, I would [snorts] I wouldn't steal. I'm not >> Man, that is it though. >> That's what I'm trying to tell you. I got the cash for it. >> Okay. Well, you're going in handcuffs. >> Oh my god. It's crazy, man. Stupid thing. >> Were you here with anyone else by yourself? >> Car waiting on you outside. >> Huh? >> How'd you get here? >> When's the last time you used, brother? >> You coming down right now? Just trying to get a fix or what? >> No, sir. You >> got anything in your car? pay for it. I don't I >> When was the last time you used? >> I a couple days ago. >> Okay. Meth drug toys. >> We use It's not illegal to be high. >> I know I'm not high. >> What do you use? >> Okay. >> What's your name? So, heroin, right? Track. >> What's your name? >> I got it. The man remained unusually calm, as if he had been through this before. He even seemed to understand the process, claiming he could simply pay before leaving, making it appear that he was no stranger to situations like this. >> I don't understand why I understand I left the store, but I'm paying for everything. I didn't pass. >> Is anybody waiting on you? >> I mean, they're probably not here anymore. >> Oh, they're out here. I'm paying for this stuff. Why? >> Listen, >> you think it's normal for a person to walk into a store, place 20 boxes of merchandise down their pants while you're pushing a cart that you can easily put those items into? No. Because it because that's an element of theft because you're planning on stealing those planning. >> So stop. >> Don't play. >> Okay. I've been doing this for 15 years. This ain't the first time. It ain't going to be the last. Quit acting like an idiot. >> If I didn't have the money, then I could understand that. >> Then I would have the intent. It's crazy. I paid for every single item. I was going to pull it out as soon as I came to the register. your >> Yes, I was. >> Before being taken away, he still tried to convince the officers that he should be allowed to pay for the items as if that would prove his innocence. He clearly knew what he was doing. >> I'm paying for I have the money. That's the thing. If I have the money, I understand that. And if I didn't have the the if I didn't have the money, if I didn't have the money, I could understand that. Why do you hear it now? So you use as a ploy to think you can get off. >> No. >> Not true. >> Where you live now? >> Homeless. >> You stay in the city. Must you stay on roads? >> Um wherever I can stay in your car for now. >> What's that? >> Stay in the car for >> No, I mean I was staying in a buddy's van, but he >> we got into it. So Are you going to get sick on us at all right now? No. >> I'm going to jail for this. >> I'm not trying to work. I can't. I'm not trying to work this out. Okay. >> You search your car. We find anything in the car. >> Yes, sir. >> We search your car. We find anything in the car. In my car. >> Whatever vehicle you're in. >> I'm sure they're gone right now. >> Was it name again? Brian. >> What's your first name? >> My name's Chris. >> Chris. Chris. Come with me. Okay. I'm just going to have you sit in the back seat so you're not standing on it one more time. Okay. Right up here is going to stand right. We've been in there pretty hard. So, >> finally, Christopher Balaban was charged with felony retail theft and burglary. What do you think about cases like this?
